this gonna sound dumb but who’s Swags mod? I was wondering if ur his mod like someone who has ownership over him but has a mod 😭 IM SORRY IF THIS SOUNDS DUMB all I know is you’re the mod of Entre and other mods with their characters, just been trying to figure out for Swags

swag has had multiple mods in the past, but his two main ones haven't touched him in years (afaik) the one in charge of truffula flu is @/starxapple and the one mainly in charge for thneedville/thornville high is @/miaoumint

both of them have run his main blog extensively @/ask-swag-onceler

strapple has long since entirely retired from him/being his mod and that's why you see me running around carrying trufflu!swag over my head like a maniac bc i've basically adopted him officially? i guess? if you wanna call it like that

watching dude wheres my ranch and lisa was saying 'there used to be a dam here and there used to be a trail here' and bart was just like WHO ARE YOU THE USETA POLICE and then cheered himself for his own bad joke and it reminded me of you talking about characters specific senses of humor and i was like :')

god there was another one im cryin moe out of nowhere 'how do you make a peach crumble? kick it in the groin, HA! anyway whats goin on?' (too bad its in the homer cuts marge breaks episode )

LMAO i just really love to see what they find funny even if its really stupid or if theyre just laughing at their own joke cuz it always tells you something about their personality

one of the most interesting things i noticed is that lisa, who is usually all proper and mature most of the time, loses her SHIT at itchy and scratchy and sometimes barts prank calls to moe or when he messes with homer. it feels contradictory and yet...it works?? because not only does it imply that shes not as mature as she think she is, she also has the sense of humor of a kid who grew up looking up to bart specifically (even if she would never admit it now but remember how she ADORED bart when she was a baby)

I was talking to @starxapple and she’s been looking primarily in “Challenge of the Brave” for possible things that the fandom has missed, and she came up with this moment:

like i said before ive been watching simpsons on disney plus in the background while i draw for a few months now but last night i checked out those youtube videos on ur blog about classic simpsons vs zombie simpsons and the way they broke down the jokes was so good?? it explains so much and now every time theres a joke im like clapping my hands for the layers of writing. i always knew classic simpsons was better but its nice to see it explained in a way that isnt just "NEW SIMPSONS SUCKS"

i think the saddest part to me was when they pointed out that moe went from shady and violent suicidal pervert weirdo to "awkward family friend who says something uncomfortable sometimes" because what a waste? moe has always been my second favorite character next to mr burns and i didnt even notice why i stopped loving him because it happened so gradually. okay im SORRY im done i just cant talk simpsons w anyone else LMAO

YEAH the joke breakdown was SO good, i dont get how some ppl think it ruins the joke?? honestly if anything i can appreciate it even more now

its funny how i didnt mind moe being all those nasty things before but now that hes portrayed as a softer character, whenever this new moe does do something edgy again im like ‘yikes wtf’ i dunno the tone and mood is just all wrong now?? the humor doesnt land like it did before

But, as you implied, it doesn’t change the fact that it’s speculation that Varian’s mom is going to have something to do with the plot. No one on the crew has specifically said that she would, it’s fan conjecture based on an off-hand comment.

okay im on my simpsons rewatch (been watching it while i draw for the last few months) and i just got to "lisas date w destiny" and u got me shippin them so hard like before i didnt really care that much? are there any certain things that you love about them as a couple? specific reasons why you're drawn to them? why do you think they work so well?

HONESTLY i didnt really care that much about them before the rewatches that led me to this point either?? something just really clicked with me this time around but its hard to pinpoint what exactly, so im thinking its a combination of things. i remember when i watched that specific episode as a kid i kept getting secondhand embarrassment because i saw lisa trying to do all these things for nelson and he seemed so annoyed with her and stuff and i just didnt really GET IT??

but then when i watched it again as an adult i was like…damn. i understand all the subtleties now…nelson wasnt annoyed so much as confused by the whole thing, he literally had no idea how to deal with any of it (or emotions for that matter) because its so different from the kind of treatment hes used to. if he really had been that annoyed, he wouldnt have bothered to play along with lisas “dates” or anything because hes the kind of character who does whatever he wants. he stuck around because he was curious, and why wouldnt he be? lisa was the first person to think he could be a nice guy and he says so at the end followed by a disappointed (in himself) sarcastic remark ‘well…guess you really blew that one huh’ and lisa just smiles at that and I REALLY DIDNT GET ANY OF THAT WHEN I WAS YOUNGER it was too subtle for my stupid child brain. some things just hit different after youve gone through certain experiences i guess. and also hearing the dvd commentary talking about all this stuff also really helped me realize how good the episode really is

it could also be because now im more aware of the kind of tropes and dynamics i like to see in fiction and i realized that they actually fit a lot of them. exes who still have feelings for each other (this is especially true in one of the future episodes where its implied that they ‘still talk on the phone’ even though lisa is married to milhouse and she wonders if she shouldve married nelson instead), good hearted character who believes in the bad guy and then the bad guy tries to be better for them, nerd + punk, intimidating characters who kind of hate everyone except one person who they vow to protect, etc 

i need to be honest and say that i dont always agree with the way they portray their crush on each other especially in newer episodes but ive always loved that after Lisa’s Date With Density theyve pretty consistently (for simpsons standards) shown nelson respect lisa over any other kid when given the chance

and lisa still believes in him and that he can do great things when steered in the right direction. theres pretty much a whole episode about that (Loan-a Lisa) and she was so proud of the little bastard….he takes her rollerskating as thanks at the end….too sweet wtf

ANYWAY i think this post is getting super long but yeah!! i think that about sums it up. im so glad you also now see what took me years to see its like we’re all coming back from the optometrist here

It really is, we’ve been praying for this for awhile! My mom has joked that instead of grandchildren she’s just going to have granddogs, because they kept getting dachshund puppies and we were like “those are their babies, let’s face it.” x’D
