#wasn't the second thing he said something about lovers too. like. bro come on you're telling on yourself
@rochenn WHY YES GOOD REMINDER
one of my top favorite cringefail pathetic Dooku moments of all time is in that Yoda: Dark Rendezvous book, when Yoda asked Dooku what the fancy old dark side could even do, the FIRST fucking thing that comes blurting out of Dooku's stupid mouth is literally: "Do you want friends? The dark side can compel them for you!"
Friends. Friends, Dooku?!
#dooku you have the alluring christopher lee voice and you're STILL somehow blowing this lil commercial for the dark side#“lovers” what a clown#starts crying drops a missile on himself and has to jump out a window to leave this conversation in like 2 pages

Pls can I get Etho/Bdubs 3rd Life angst?
my favourite duo :D NHO bros
...
“Bdubs, Etho is here again,” calls Cleo, pointing out the slit window.
“Oh for crying out loud!”
Bdubs grabs his crossbow and dashes out onto the drawbridge, where he finds Etho standing on the opposite side of the moat.
“Etho, go away!” Bdubs snaps. “We don’t want you here.”
Etho responds by stepping out onto the drawbridge, stopping several blocks away from him. “I’m here for your castle.”
“Make your own crastle!”
“Why would I do that, when there’s already a fine, albeit small, castle right here?” says Etho innocently.
Bdubs’s face turns red. “IT’S A PERFECT SIZE FOR A CASTLE!”
He loads up his crossbow and aims it at Etho. “GET. OUT.”
Etho’s mirth vanishes. “Don’t point that at me.”
“I’ll shoot you!” Bdubs threatens. “I’ll shoot you if you don’t get outta here RIGHT now!”
“Stand down, Bdubs,” Etho says commandingly.
“YOU stand down!” Bdubs yells back. “You seriously think I’m gonna back down now?! Not when I finally have a chance to get rid of you!”
“Neither of us are on red, Bdubs. We can’t hurt each other.”
“Speak for yourself!” snaps Bdubs. “If you take one more step across this bridge, I swear to god, I’m gonna shoot you in the neck.”
“Bdubs, don’t,” Cleo calls from the crenellations. “If you kill him, he’ll just come back and kill you. It’s not worth it.”
“I’d listen to her if I were you,” says Etho steadily.
“Then get the hell off my drawbridge! If you think you can just attack my castle and force me to go inside and just accept it, you’ve got another think coming! I’ll die right here rather than just let you march into the castle I built with my own two hands!”
Etho’s voice hardens. “That can be arranged, you know.”
Bdubs squeezes his eyes closed briefly, releasing tears he didn’t even know were there. “All I wanted was to team up with you, Etho. You’re annoying as hell but you’re my best friend too and I was so looking forward to being allies with you. Then you decided to just… to be a massive jerk to me. The constant belittling me and my crastle, flinging TNT missiles at it, taunting me with your green life when I had JUST lost mine. I’ve put up with your teasing for decades but you just got unbearably worse when we came here. Why? Why do you take so much delight in making my life a misery?”
Etho falters, Bdubs’s last question echoing in his mind. Has he really been making his friend’s life a misery all this time? Maybe he’s been getting so lost in his own fun and games that he hasn’t realised how much he’s been hurting his friend.
“Don’t make me shoot you,” Bdubs says softly. “Please. The last thing I wanna do is hurt you. But if you insist on carrying on anyway, I’ll have to defend what’s mine.”
After a moment, Etho takes a step towards Bdubs, who hastily lifts his crossbow again. “Etho, don’t.”
Etho takes another step.
More tears springing to his eyes, Bdubs steps back. “Etho, don’t! Please, don’t make me do this!”
“Bdubs-,” starts Etho, taking one more step.
But what neither of them have counted on is Cleo, who is watching with her own bow from the crenellations, and she’s a lot less reluctant than Bdubs.
Her arrow hits Etho in the left side of his chest, sending him stumbling backwards. His foot slips and he tumbles off the side of the drawbridge.
“Etho!” cries Bdubs.
Dropping his crossbow, he rushes back to the castle and jumps down into the moat in the more shallow area, making his way quickly down to the deeper part, where Etho fell.
When he gets to his friend, Bdubs turns him onto his back. Etho’s skin is pale, his eyes closed, his chest heaving. The arrow is still sticking out of his chest.
“Oh god, why did you DO that?” Bdubs snaps. “You stupid idiot! You’re such an idiot!”
“Heard you the first time,” Etho rasps abruptly.
Bdubs shakes his head and stands up. “This is your fault, Etho,” he says shakily. “I can’t help you.”
As he turns to walk away, Etho suddenly croaks, “Wait.”
Bdubs turns back to him. “What?”
“Can you stay w-with me? P-Please?”
After a moment, Bdubs sits down beside Etho and carefully lifts his head into his lap, holding his friend tightly to him.
“We’ve been through a lot together, h-haven’t we?” Etho murmurs.
Bdubs nods slowly. “We have. A lot of real bad stuff has happened to us. But I think this is the first time I’ve heard you sound so scared.”
Etho decides not to mention all the countless times his voice had sounded exactly like that when Bdubs was missing in the jungle all those years ago.
“I’m sorry,” he whispers. “When I c-come back, can w-we be friends again?”
“I don’t know if I can trust you anymore, Etho. I’m sorry.”
That stings Etho almost as badly as the arrow in his chest. But he knows it’s his own fault.
“H-Hey, Bdubs?”
Bdubs glances down at him. “Yeah?”
“Y-Your castle is small.”
After a moment, Bdubs lets out a quiet laugh. “I’m gonna jam an arrow in your eye socket.”
Etho chuckles painfully. “Worth it.”
He coughs a few times, before settling back and closing his eyes.
A few seconds later, Bdubs feels the weight of his best friend get lifted, and he knows that it’s finally happened.
He gets to his feet, ignoring his communicator going crazy with messages responding to the inevitable death notification, and heads back up to the castle. Deep down, he knows that Etho would most likely have died regardless of whether Bdubs went for help or not, but it still hurts.
Cleo is waiting for him in the doorway, a sympathetic expression on her face. “Sorry, Bdubs.”
“No, no.” Bdubs shakes his head. “You saved me. Thank you.”
“No problem. I AM sorry about Etho, though.”
“It’s alright. He brought it on himself, really.”
Cleo nods slowly. “He really did. How are you doing?”
Bdubs glances back towards the door, as if expecting to see Etho outside. Of course, nobody is there. He’s almost disappointed.
“I’ll be fine.”

Captain Annie: The First Avenger
AOT Manga Spoilers.
Amino Conscripto 2019 challenge: Disney x AOT
On my Ao3 and Fanfiction accounts.
This was always going to happen. It was decided. It’s probably happened, once before. Maybe in a different way, but this is how she wakes today. Any inconsistency explained with one word: PATHS.
__________________________________________
An Island of Devils. Annie is cursed, cursed with the Power of the Female Titan. She’s completed many operations, always for a supposed greater good. Yet this is where she falls.
Mikasa slices Annie’s giant, skinless fingers. Landing delicately ontop her head. “Now fall.”
Crash.
She can’t escape. Eren’s giant form. Not a Titan, but a devil. Raging in flames, ready to bite down on her nape with incisor teeth. This can’t be the end?
Annie has to do it. The Titan researchers said it would be her last resort, now’s a better time than ever.
Woosh.
Blue crystals form over her body, encasing her. Pushing back Eren, Mikasa, and everyone. Away, to leave Annie isolated. Her eyelids flutter before sealing shut in the ice.
“Reiner, Berthold. Come save me.”
She waits. Seconds, unable to hear the outside world. Tired, she rests.
Rumble.
__________________________________________
Annie juts awake, but her eyes don’t open. Only hearing the stampede of massive footsteps, but it doesn’t affect her. Allowing her to tire again. Alone, isolated from the world. Yet, she’s frozen. Not even able to cry.
When are they coming to save her?
Annie gasps for breath. Oxygen filling her lungs, she thrashes her arms over white sheets. Opening her eyes, to the faint light in the room that gradually increases in luminosity.
She’s out. Out of her crystal. No one’s in the room. The simple Marlian hospital. They did it, she is safe.
Her eyes drift to the bedside counter. A metal object reminiscent of a Plato clock. It flickers in red light. 12:00. Noon. This scene looked very familiar. A PATH opens in her mind, telling her she’s out of time.
The door opens. A man walks inside, tall. “I see you’re finally awake, frozen girl.”
“Who are you? You’re not the General?”
“Call me Fury, director of S.H.E.I.L.D.”
Wait, he’s the agent for Marley’s secret defence force?
“But I met the director of S.H.E.I.L.D before. You’re not him.”
“That was Fury senior. .” He was a real piece of work, let me tell you.
“Just to be clear, we’re still talking about Magath, right?”
The man nods, but he’s not Fury. He’s Samuel L. Jackson. And that makes it all the worse.
“Things have changed since you were last awake. The world has got a whole lot smaller.”
So they failed their mission. Eren activated the Rumbling and became the tyrant of the world. Which begged the question: why was she alive?
Annie springs off the bed, then stalls. Fury gestures for her to stop.
“Calm down, you’re home now.”
The man drags a stool, painfully scrapping on the ground before dropping his weight on the cranking seat. Past his acting days, he looks at her with a grumpy expression. He’s going to monologue.
“The preceding mission, before Paradis, you were piloting the Hydra bomber locked on autopilot to Liberio. As you weren’t a fool, you jumped out of the plane in the last moment, using your Titan form to crush the landing.”
“And?”
“Soldier, I want you to understand something. Give me your mission report?”
Fury locks a deadly glare, eyes filled with a dark past. Annie falters. Squirming, she bites her lip. But she collects herself, returning a lazy stare to Fury. Like there is no problem at all.
“The bomber was on autopilot. I tried to move the steering column, only jutting it a little. That was enough for some manual control over the plane. This came with a caveat. Every time I left the steering yoke, the plane reverted back to its original heading. I couldn’t trust a damaged plane, so jamming the controls was a no go. That’s why I stayed behind, I was the only one who could crash that plane. A sacrifice wouldn’t have been stupid. But why are we talking about that? We know all of this already. Tell me, what happened on Paradis?”
He ignores her question, reshuffling himself on his stool like the question is awkward. He’s hiding a terrifying truth.
“The Hydra clean up went smoothly and was a great assistance to our war efforts. So I want to know something?”
He leans in.
“How come, a very capable Warrior like yourself failed at the last moment. On Paradis, you infiltrated the Walls and went face to face with the Coordinate. Everything was laid out for you, then you flunked it. Reverting to your crystal form.”
“I was outmatched.”
“No, you were scared. Thought you could hide away, that the crystal would protect you, keep you conscious. That’d you wake up from a fake slumber, and surprise the enemy. You were wrong, you couldn’t breathe in that crystal. It froze you in cryostasis. We didn’t even think that was possible.”
Annie would rather not waste her words on interrupting Fury. She huffs to the side, watching the window. Bright light glares on her skin. Almost like its a beautiful sunny day outside, but Annie’s a Titan shifter. She can tell straight away this is fake. She’s inside an industrial complex, not a general hospital.
Annie is a bird, trapped in a cage. And if Fury didn’t answer her questions soon, she would rattle the bars.
“I’m asking one last time, what happened Fury?”
Fury bolts up, striding forward.
“What didn’t happen, Annie? Marley got their butt kicked, while you were stuck in your crystal for who knows how long. And we want to know why?”
What’s Annie to say, she was probably in a coma. Sure, she could have fought harder against the Survey Corps, but she was on their home turf. The safest option was to run.
A voice in PATHS gives her doubt. Telling her, she is weak. Pathetic. Missed out on everything.
Annie considers it. That Fury is right. She gave up too soon. Glancing up, Fury is furious. He wants her to own up, try to atone for her failure. Be their slave for the remainder of her short life. It must be so short now.
“So I’m your prisoner?”
“On the contrary, you’re free. Free as a butterfly in skates riding a roller coaster. You can do anything you want. But first, you should listen.”
A stream of Erens spouting Freedom invade her mind: telling her to save Armin and Mikasa. Whose memories are these? Eren’s obviously, but that’s beside the point.
“All I want is to see my father. So whatever game you’re trying to pull, skip it.”
Fury sighs, making his way to the door.
“It’s been 70 years.”
Annie gasps, for such a stupid lie.
“Nope.”
“Yep.”
“Someone would have rescued me.”
“Nope.”
“They wouldn’t leave the fate of a beloved character to an off-screen death.”
“Did it with Ymir.”
He’s serious, Isayama forgot about her.
Annie crumples on her bed, covering her eyes with her forearm.
“What happened?”
“The Yeagers happened. Eren and Zeke together were able to activate the coordinate and change the world. Flattening all their enemies. If it wasn’t for one woman, none of us would be standing here today?”
Annie will bite the bullet. “Who?”
“Stark. Pieck Stark. A brilliant mind, always exactly right. The last words of Zeke Yeager, before she finished him off, and stopped the Rumbling. In her remaining years, she even privatised world peace. Leaving everything to her adopted daughter.”
Ah, Pieck. A fellow Warrior, always a nice girl.
But Annie wants to see her father. She promised she would return. Return back home, even if the whole world turned against her. She can’t have missed him? She needs to be sure.
“How long, how long has it been?”
“I don’t know?”
“But you said 70 years before.”
“Thinking it over, that doesn’t work with our timeline. Hey.”
Useless.
Annie knocks Fury over and pushes past him. Bursting outside the paper room, sprinting to the doors. The hallway changes. More shiny, clinical. She’s out the entrance reception. Crashing through the glass doors, into the bright and busy metropolis. Cars, plentiful, zoom past her. On an intersection of roads. The buildings flash large images, spinning. Spinning Annie’s head. Her whole body. As she collapses on the ground.
Laughing hysterically. This was not her home.
Five figures drop beside her, one by one. A girl clad in iron armour, a boy, dressed as a Viking, a green hulk shrinking into an old lady, a pile of stone, dragged along by a little girl hurling a bucket of water.
Fury stands in front. “There was once an initiative. To form a group of remarkable and unique individuals: to fight the fight that no one else could.”
This is Eren’s fault. He did this, used the power of the coordinate to change the world into a Super Hero parody.
“Pieck always wanted you to join this team. Be the glue that held it together.”
Annie eyes the heroes.
The iron helmet opens, revealing a face similar to Eren. Just as hostile. The tin soldier is held back by a herculean man, with the face of a 12-year-old. Fury laughs.
“This is Gabi Stark. She, accidentally, shot a border patrol officer. They captured her and forced her to make missiles. Luckily, Pieck taught her well, and she made the first Iron man suit. Now she can retaliate with deadly force whenever she causes a problem.”
The hair on Annie’s skin prickles. She can feel the temptation. Just looking at Gabi makes her want to start a Civil War.
But Fury points to Gabi’s restrainer.
“Falco Odinson, a God from Asgard. Always wanted to fly, and now he can. In exchange, he has to help Gabi solve racism.”
Annie doesn’t care. The old lady gives a piercing glare. She knows her.
“And this is Mikasa, the incredible hulk.”
Mikasa rolls bandages around her fists.
“So you decided to wake up Annie.”
“You’re the monster, how fitting.”
“I was having a nice picnic with Eren, Armin and Gabi when a gamma bomb exploded. It unleased my Ackerman rage, turning me into this monster.”
Samuel L. Jackson is quick to correct. “Actually, Eren Said this:”
Eren echos through PATHS.
“Ever since I was a kid, Mikasa. I’ve always hated you.”
Mikasa transforms, collapsing the entire neighbourhood.
Really, of all the old friends Annie could have a reunion with after 70 years, why did it have to be Mikasa?
Annie kicks the stone, annoying the monster. “Who’s this then?”
“That’s Hawkeye, a very effective member of the team.”
“Yeah, but who’s Hawkeye here?”
“Sasha.”
“That’s a tombstone.”
“Exactly.”
The last one, the Black Widow. A deadly poison. Too cool to actually show up. Instead, they get Ymir. Not the 104th cadet. Actual ancient Ymir. She splashes her bucket over Annie.
“You know, this technically makes us Disney Princesses now.”
“So I’m Sleeping Beauty?”
Annie doubts either of them is of royal blood. She sighs – no, grieves.
This is too much. If there is one moral to take away from all this: Don’t wait too long in your crystal.
With all the silliness aside, they’re just trying to distract her from the truth. Her father is dead.
PATHS echos the last voice. “I love you 3000.”
Annie’s not the only one suffering a loss. Fury lost Stark, and he’s trying to rebuild the past. But it’s over now.
Samuel L. Jackson raises his hands. “This is the Avenger initiative.”
Annie’s fist trembles, but she breathes deeply. Turning back.
There is only one thing to do.
“I’m done.”

__________________________________________
Annie walks with flowers through the massive graveyard. It isn’t cloudy or foggy. The sky is beautiful today.
Annie doesn’t even care that she screwed up the Paradis operation. No matter how long Fury will pester her, thinking she has to own up to a problem long past. Her heart’s not in it: fighting for the rest of her short life. Saying ‘No’ was the best decision she ever made. Even if she does miss out on a multi-billion-dollar franchise.
She reaches it. The Mound. The grave.
“Father, I’m home.”
A routine for her, Annie places the flowers next to the grave. She looks at her wrinkled hands. The curse of Ymir has aged her considerably, but she doesn’t regret how she’s spent the remaining years of her life.
Reiner strolls towards her, a 100 year old husk. Death, never quite able to take him.
“Seems you’re still kicking it.”
They’ve forgiven each other for the past. Reiner lays down next to her.
“It keeps bothering me, PATHS. Why does it keep me alive just so I can suffer, have you figured it out yet?”
Annie nods her head. It was so satisfying.
“You have, great! Going to tell me what you found?”
“No. No, I don’t think I will.”

The Captain & The Culprit (19)
After escaping from a Hydra lab you’ve been running and hiding since. Afraid of your abilities and your forgotten past, you keep away from people until The Avengers come and find you.
Summary: Hydra has found you with the Avengers and attack the tower to retrieve both you and Schmidt.
Warnings: Violence, repressed memories, electric shock, mind control, attempted suicide, Hulk.
Bruce threw himself against the walls of the elevator. It groaned and started to drop. You pressed against the wall, using your powers to keep the two of you from plunging to your deaths. His body began to turn and swell, ripping through his shirt.
"Steve!" You called out, straining against the increasing weight
"Stay calm, we're coming to get you." He tells you
Bruce roared, growing to twice his size, you could see him trying to fight against it. The elevator doors are forced open by Steve and Bucky, Tony stood between them, fully armed and aimed at Bruce.
"(Y/N) listen to me, you have to let the elevator drop with Banner inside." Tony tells you
"We're fifty floors up!"
"He'll be fine, but you gotta get out." Steve strained against the doors "Watch out!"
A large green hand swung back, you ducked down in time, the elevator drops with you.
The Hulk slammed against the walls, you jumped to grab onto the grate on the ceiling and dodge his massive foot going through the wall. The elevator catches on something, groaning under Hulk’s weight and tilting slightly. Hulk grunts out in pain, trying to pull his foot from the hold her made.
"Dr. Banner, you have to stay calm." Your voice close to breaking
Hulk roared again at the mention of Bruce Banner, he raised his fists, slamming them down to the floor. The elevator drops two more floors when it catches again. Your sweaty palms make it harder for you to hang on to the grate. You spot your bag in the bottom corner, under Hulk. One hand slips from the grate, your second hand beginning to loosen.
The doors are pulled open again, this time it's Thor, no longer in his suit from early, but in full battle gear.
"Lady (Y/N), if you would be so kind to excuse yourself from the falling elevator."
"Gladly." You swing forward, Thor reaches for you just in time to catch you, your hand whips out to wrap your bag in blue smoke, and pull it out with you.
"Now Vision!" Thor pulls you out to the other side and the elevator shoots upwards, you catch a glimpse of Vision in the elevator shaft, lifting it up.
For the first time you could think clearly, and you realize you were trembling. You shuddered before trapping Thor in a hug. "Thank you, thank you so much."
"(Y/N)!" Steve broke down the doors to the hallway, Bucky and Tony right behind him
"Steve." You ran into his arms, crying "I'm okay."
Steve kissed your face all over before kissing your lips.
"Okay we're glad your safe, but right now we have bigger issues." Tony stated "We got Hydra agents swarming in the building-"
"There was a tracking device in the doll, they followed it here. I didn't know." You rambled
"That doesn't matter now, but we do need to make sure that you stay safe and sane." Tony hints "You go help Wilson and Wanda get the guests to safety."
"I can't." You shake your head
"What do you mean you can't?" Steve asked
"Steve." Bucky nodded towards the bag on the floor
"You we're running away?"
"They're here for me, if I leave then they won't go after anyone else." You explained
"So you were just gonna leave? Without a word?"
"Guys." Tony tried to interrupt "Hydra?"
"Steve, I caused this. People are gonna get hurt because of me."
"Okay so you run, then what if they catch you? You're back to being some damn lab rat, is that what you want?" Steve shouted, you flinched at his tone, the power shuts down
"(Y/N)?" Tony asks
"Wasn't me." You look round in the dark, a green dot aimed at Steve's chest. "Everyone down!"
You tackled Steve to the floor just before bullets start to fly, a few bounce off Tony's suit. He turns to shoot at the snipers at the window. Steve covered your body from any stray bullets with his shield.
"Don't run, I need you to trust me." He says quickly “I won’t let them take you.”
"Okay." You nod
"Barnes, I need you with Barton, taking out their guns." Tony address Bucky once the bullets stop flying
"On it." Bucky ran over to the stairwell door, leading gun first, going up the stairs. Another roar came from above, a chill ran up your spine.
"We need someone on Hulk control." Steve says, helping you stand back up
"I can handle Banner." Thor ran towards the shattered windows, jumping out before taking off in the air
"Are you two done with your lover's spat? Because we got a serious situation." Tony points to you and Steve
"We're good." Steve assured "(Y/N) I need you on the ground helping with evac. Stark and I can handle the rest."
"Yes sir."
"Congrats kid, you're an Avenger." Tony salutes to you
*
*
You, Sam and Wanda safely get everyone to file out of the building. A few S.H.I.E.L.D agents stay behind to help out, including Sharon. Lightning crashed from the top of the tower, you see Stark flying around too, out maneuvering a few rocket missiles.
"They're going to need help up there." Wanda tells you and Sam
More Hydra snipers slices through the air, shooting down at the roof, Hulk roars again.
"A lot of help." Sam says "Cap, what's going on upstairs?"
'A few Hydra ops got past us. They're gonna come for (Y/N).' Steve says through the comms
"Then we will protect her." Wanda tells him
You look up at the climbing gear dangling on the side of the building in front of broken windows. Something inside you churns.
"I don't think they're after me." You run back inside and over to the front desk "FRIDAY, I need a scan of the heat signatures in the tower."
A holographic outline of the tower jumps from the screen, you see Steve and the others on the roof and the three signatures on the ground floor. But there are four heat signatures moving towards a lone one on the upper levels.
"The holding cells." You point
"They're going after Schmidt. Why?" Wanda asks "I thought they were here for you."
"You don't go after the monster, without having Frankenstein on your side, I gotta stop them."
'That's a negative, you stay away from Schmidt.' Steve orders 'Protect the people, that's your job.'
"Got it." You took out the earpiece "I'm going to get Schmidt."
"But Cap-"
"Told me to protect the people, if we let Hydra leave with Schmidt, no one is safe." You turned to leave
"(Y/N) the elevators are out, are you gonna run up thirty flights of stairs?" Sam asked
"What like it’s hard?” you hurry into the stairwell
You leap up from the ground floor, using your powers to carry you straight up to the thirtieth floor and take off for the holding cells. The doors leading to them have been blown off, you can see a small team of Hydra agents opening Schmidt's cell.
"No!" You strike the first two to charge at you with the blue smoke. The next two shoot, but you deflect the bullets, taking out a few lights in the already dim hallway. You run over to strike down Schmidt but he's not inside the cell and you see the ankle cuffs laying on the floor.
"Oh shit." You put the earpiece back in to warn the others
"Don't you look lovely 813." Schmidt hissed from the other end of the hall "Come to see me off or run away with me?"
"I'm not running, especially not with you." You start to charge at him
“813, dein Vorgesetzter-” he starts, smiling mischievously as you stop in your tracks "Ich werde müde von diesen Spielen.” (is getting tired of these games.)
“Now I don't want to control you but if you force my hand-" Schmidt flies backwards straight into a wall, then dropped to the floor unconscious. Steve stood there, slightly out of breath and glaring at you.
"I told you to stay away from the holding cells."
"I knew you'd come if I didn't listen." You spot a red dot on Steve's shield, before you can react a shot goes off. The taser chip bounced off the shield and implants itself on your forehead, sending jolts of electricity through your brain.
"(Y/N)!" Steve catches you before you hit the floor
Alarms are going off, you're running through crumbling halls of the Hydra lab. Schmidt is running after you.
"813, Ihr Vorgesetzter hat eine Bitte!” (813! Your superior has a request!) He yells at you
You beg your feet to push forward but you stop against your will.
"Wie kann ich Ihnen helfen?” (How may I assist you?) You choke out
“Töte den Täter, denjenigen, der dein Leiden verursacht hat. Ohne sie in der Welt können Sie frei sein.” (Kill The Culprit, the one who caused your suffering. Without them in the world, you can be free.) He orders
"Wer ist der Täter?” (Who is The Culprit?)
“Dort.” (There.) Schmidt points behind you. You turn and face a scratched up mirror, your reflection staring back. "Töte den Täter und du bist frei.” (Kill The Culprit, and you're free.)
You run head first at the mirror, and sharp shard of glass hits your head.
Suddenly every small detail about your life comes rushing back in a flash. Years of experimentation from Schmidt and missions, some of them with Bucky. All the people you were forced to kill, the near death training you had with other super soldiers. The sixteen years of isolation while Bucky was in the cryo-chamber, Red Skull raising you to fight and kill. A beautiful woman, who resembles your face, with tears in her eyes as she lowered you into a bassinet, an one eyed white haired man stood behind her.
You jump forward, quickly taking in your surroundings. You were on the floor propped up against the wall, Steve was fighting against the four Hydra agents, Schmidt was sneaking off into the stairwell.
"Schmidt." You growled pulling yourself back up
"Are you alright?" Steve drops the last of the Hydra agents and pulls you into his chest.
"He's getting away." You push away from him
"He won't get far, you need to stay down." He tried to keep a hold on you
"No, Steve, I need to stop him."
"If he says those words, you'll go back under. Who knows what he'll make you do."
"Then you say them." You quickly spoke, Steve shook his head protesting "Steve, please, I know I'm safe with you, I trust you. Just say it and Schmidt can't control me- only you. Just let me go after him."
You see the small hints of tears gather in the corners of his eyes, but he nods. "813 ..... Ihr Vorgesetzter hat eine Bitte.”

As Our Paralleled Whispers Converge
Summary: [Players as champions AU] They’re in enemy territory with comms down and they’ve just pulled the coolest stunt ever when Sneaky calls him asking about dinner and he knows that’s not right.
Jensen mashes buttons on his communicator, to no response. They had gotten separated when the building fell between them, but he didn’t dare shout or send out any kind of obvious signal of his location - there were more enemies than allies around, and they weren’t in familiar territory.
If nothing else has gone wrong, then Sven and Licorice have infiltrated the command tower already and are looking for the core, while Sneaky and Smoothie are sending them reports of whatever’s going on outside and providing cover fire. He’s supposed to be distracting and dealing with the brunt of their defences, but, well, he’s not. He’s just lost. Hopefully, they’ve sent Licorice to cover for him or all the enemy men will be after Sneaky and Smoothie, and neither of them are equipped to be taking on a battle where they’re so heavily outnumbered. Or (he’s comforted by the possibility even if it means there’s a greater chance that their mission fails), maybe they’ve been used to reinforce the inside of the building?
He gets his answer as a squad of gunners rush past the alleyway he’s in.
Immediately, he dashes out, summons a field of parallel convergence, and blasts apart the nearest soldier. The other six are regaining their senses already, so he throws out a timewinder and hops back behind a wall
He sucks in his breath. That was stupid. They won’t risk moving in, but as soon as he shows himself again, they’ll all be on him in an instant.
Slowly, he glances at the other end of the alley and at the wall he’ll have to scale. He wonders if they’ll be able to see him once he’s at the top of the wall, but he supposes that if he’s quick enough, he has better chances than running out into a six on one fight.
And then he hears the amazing, familiar bursting-of-air sound, the roar through the wind, and the blast of the missile connecting.
He grins, hearing the whisper in his ear to go in.
So he does, taking advantage of the panic and confusion to bludgeon the closest enemy and then rolling out of the way as a second missile whizzes past him by just a centimeter to take out another, the third following almost immediately but just as precise in finding its target. Understanding the silent challenge and unwilling to be defeated, he hurls his timewinder at one of the two remaining soldiers, blocks an attempted strike from a knife, and slams the back of his bat into his opponent’s forehead just as his timewinder lands its second strike in its return to him.
Knowing that Sneaky’s final shot would easily deal with the final soldier, he turns lazily, and is met with a rain of bullets to his side.
His scream is choked and coughing, and fuck it hurts. He freezes, hands over his stomach, and squeezes his eyes shut. A split second later, he disappears and reappears several meters from where he had been standing, wound gone but still panting, and he tumbles diagonally to avoid the second round of gunfire before leaping forward to bat the gun away and knocking out his assailant.
He can barely stop himself from falling over, and his breath refuses to steady. It feels like every time he’s shot or stabbed or beaten bloody, it gets more painful and exhausting even if he’s been able to revert the damage every time so far.
Stumbling and far too slow, he forces himself to the side of some poor shop that’s locked its doors and sealed its windows as soon as the fighting broke out, his hands grappling at the brick wall to keep himself upright.
How had he managed to let someone get the jump on him? His head was fogged and pounding and he was far too tempted to just close his eyes and figure it all out when he woke up, but he was sure something wasn’t right because he would never make a mistake like that.
That’s right, it was because the last one… He had thought the last one would be dealt with already.
By Sneaky.
“Shit.”
He struggles to get his legs to support him fully, but as soon as he pushes himself away from the wall, he falls onto his knees, the communicator tumbling out of his pocket.
He slams his fist onto it in frustration.
It crackles to life.
“W-who,” he mumbles, and his fingers fumble to dial the volume all the way up.
“Me,” he hears, and even though it should be loud it’s a whisper that’s almost drowned out by static.
“Where are you?” he asks, too quickly. “Wait, that was stupid I know where you are, I’m coming, I’ll be right there, I’ll-”
“I’m fine,” he says. “Sorry about that, my hands slipped and I dropped my gun.”
The fuck?
“Dude, you-”
“Hey, Jensen. What do you want to eat tonight?”
His heart drops. “What are you talking about?”
There’s a pause long enough that Jensen starts to count the seconds of it before Sneaky replies. “I love you.”
“I’m coming, I’m coming, wait just a little while longer.”
“No, don’t- please-”
He’s not sure when he started running but all of a sudden every single part of his existence is going into running faster, faster, and he can no longer hear anything, much less Sneaky’s voice, over his own heartbeat.
The first building he sees that’s high enough to have been the sniping perch is an abandoned school and he prays that it’s the right one as he crashes through the doors and up a flight of stairs.
He finds a door to the roof, but it’s solid metal and it won’t open, even after he smashes apart the knob. Pacing, each second ticking in his chest, he sprints into the nearest classroom and looks out the window.
It’s facing the roof.
He smashes the glass and slips out. From the angle the shots had been coming at, he’s on the wrong side of the school. From what he can tell, the second floor of the school is smaller than the first floor so that there’s two layers of roof. He’s jogging clockwise around the lower level in search of a ladder up when he turns the corner and steps into a pool of blood.
He drops to his knees and his hand is on Sneaky’s shoulder immediately. He stops himself from trying to jostle him awake.
“Wake up. Wake up,” he says dumbly. “Come on, I said wake up.”
He feels the arm shift and a cold palm slides over the hand he has braced on the floor.
He looks up. Sneaky’s face is still pale from the blood loss of too many slashes to count and a knife protruding from his chest and his eyes are still closed, but his lips are moving.
“Get away from here.”
“Can you stand? I can help you. Reapered will have medical supplies at the safe house.”
“Run.”
He can hear footsteps.
Jensen reaches around Sneaky’s torso to pull him up, but the pressure only elicits a cry of pain. “Fuck fuck fuck I don’t know what to do, Sneaky.”
Sneaky shivers, suddenly. “Please run,” he says again, more air than voice.
Behind him, he hears the safety of a gun being clicked off.
Jensen shakes his head before realising the futility. “Look at me,” he says softly.
Sneaky’s eyes open, barely.
Dimly, Jensen is aware of someone telling him to put his hands up. Instead, he murmurs to Sneaky, “You can do it. Just breathe and look at me.”
He waits an eternity for Sneaky’s gaze to focus into his own.
"I love you.”
And then the gun goes off.

He's so funny for saying all that while living alone in a castle. Yeah, sure thing, Dooku. And are those friends and lovers in the room with us right now?
one of my top favorite cringefail pathetic Dooku moments of all time is in that Yoda: Dark Rendezvous book, when Yoda asked Dooku what the fancy old dark side could even do, the FIRST fucking thing that comes blurting out of Dooku's stupid mouth is literally: "Do you want friends? The dark side can compel them for you!"
Friends. Friends, Dooku?!
