#starscream has finally met his end--or has he??

I don't really post fic wips on this blog but I wanted to post this one before I went to bed!

slight synopsis: starsceream tried to rekindle his relationship with megatron and surprises him aboard the lost light, megatron freaks out and wants nothing to do with him! starscream ends up sacrificing himself for megatron during a surprise attack on the lost light. this is the after math.

“Stay away from me,” He had said, angrily the moment Starscem entered the boarding chamber. His uncharacteristically jovial expression melting into surprise.

“Megatron, I – I just wanted to see you again and–”

“I don’t care what you want, Starscream. We are not on Cybertron, you have no rule or jurisdiction upon this vessel. I have no idea why you’ve come here but you will find no camaraderie or happiness here. I will not let you poison the new life and family I have built for myself.” 

He didn’t give Starscream a chance to respond. He’d simply brushed past him, leaving Starscream with Ultra Magnus. 

Back then, when Megatron made that decision, he was so sure of himself. He had every right to push Starcream away for all the harm the traitorous Seeker had inflicted upon him.  He had every right to hate Starscream. He had every right to let Starscream know that.

At least, that is what he’d told himself to feel better back then.  He just did not know that it would lead to this.

This painful moment in present time.

Red and black liquid stained the crinkled paper that Megatron held in his hands and his frame trembled as he gazed down at the motionless, ragged bot laying upon the decorated berth beneath him. The bot’s face was unlike what it was those years ago, when Megatron had shunned him during his failed attempt to patch up their broken relationship.

It was so different from the days of the war, when it was drenched with an expression of fear and cowardice, terrified of Megatron’s fists or blasters pounding themselves into his frame.

No, there was no fear, no conniving nature–nothing. 

It was simply Starscream or what was left of him. His optics were closed, his hands rested calmly on his abdomen and his spark was extinguished. Beneath him on the berth were a sea of red and blue flowers; even if he scoffed at sentient organic life forms, he loved flowers. That was something he tried to hide from Megatron, but when it came to his untimely demise, it was a desire that Megatron refused to let be buried with him. In fact, all of Iacon that day was draped in flowers. Flowers for their leader, who had honorably given his life to save the crew of the Lost Light, more importantly, Megatron. 

“If you do not wish to read the poem to him,” Optimus’s voice, quiet yet intruding, sounded from the very end of the dimly lit hall. “Then perhaps you leave it at his memorial statue. It will be finished it–”

“I do not wish for anyone else to read it, Prime.” Megatron’s voice too was calm, but anger was hidden in the crevasse. He turned to face Optimus, red tears staining his metallic cheeks. “I asked that no one come in here! Am I not allowed to be with my former second in command, in peace! Alone?!”

Optimus approached, slowly stepping into the light that was emitted from the upper window. He took a chance yet gently, placed a hand upon Megatron’s shoulder. 

“Megatron, you have been in here for over a day.” Optimus moved past him, gazing at Starscream himself. He saw the tear marks staining Starscream’s frame. Megatron had been standing over him, crying, mourning, unmoving. “There is to be a procession of his body from the Halls of Iacon to the Catacombs. There is a tomb waiting for him–”

“He is to be paraded around like an animal?!” Megatron snapped back. “He deserves more than that! You fools do not know how to respect him–”

“Starscream is–was the leader of Cybertron. He is no longer your second in command. It is tradition! It is what his people want! It is not about you, it is not about me–it is about him and–” Optimus ex-vented, blue optics narrowed. “He would not want us to be fighting like this. He died so you could be happy, so you could live anew. He gave you freedom, Megatron. Be happy!”

Megatron’s tears began to gather once again, nearly spilling out of the side of his optics. He could not contain his emotions.

“How can I be happy prime, when he died for me and I treated him like he was worthless? He came to that ship to make up with me and my arrogance killed him, and before that, when we served in the war together, I mistreated him! I ruined his life -I –I…” The facade of anger (and it was not much of a facade) fell like sand through Megatron’s fingers. “And I have nothing to give him in return but my tears!”

Megatron was on the verge of breaking down, and Optimus could tell. His strong, resilient frame began to tremble and instinctively, Optimus took a step forward and pulled Megatron into a hug. Arms tightening around him, Megatron leaned into the embrace, tears streaming down his face, and head resting upon Optimus’s shoulder. It was then, Megatron began to sob. He cried harder than he ever had in his life.

“Leave him the poem.” Optimus whispered through Megatron’s tears. “The one in your hand–no one has to know what is written on it, except you and Starscream. And when he awakes in the after life, one with the Allspark…then he will read it. He will know how much you cared for him. I will ensure that he is buried with it.”"

WARNINGS: Kind of suggestive (heavy sloppy make out session), I'll even categorize this as crack, somehow. Reader is a cybertronian, a decepticon and gender neutral. Megastar implied (you'll understand).

Oh my Primus - said deity and the past Primes are definitely disappointed in him. And he wants to kick his own aft!

You were one of the most crazy Decepticon any of the Autobots have ever seen - and they've dealt with Megatron and Starscream before!

You were a constant 'keep-an-optic-on' for the Autobots, as you would be sent to cause a couple of problems here and there, the typical tactic about having your enemy doing multitasking between the main problem (aka. The war and Megatron) and other problems to deal with (Aka. You).

Last week you got a whole factory on fire (thanks to Primus no human got hurt in the process), a couple of days ago you managed to get Arcee, Bee and Bulkhead lost inside of a cave system after having chased you. And so on.

And lately, Optimus has been dealing with you, trying to stop you from whatever and such.

And by Primus, you knew how to put a fight, make a disaster and even have Optimus give his everything to keep up with you. Even when he got to land a hit or such on you, you would cackle and stand up back, and the cycle continues.

Although... And Primus, it was so wrong to admit it. He found you... optic-catching. Yes, you were a serious problem and a crazy-aft Decepticon.

Still... that didn't stop Optimus Prime from feeling his spark twirl and beat loudly against his chestplate.

Somehow in this battle, Optimus and Megatron weren't fighting faceplate to faceplate - instead, Arcee, Smokescreen and BumbleBee were doing such a good job at dealing with the Warlord while Optimus had to deal with you.

"C'mon, Prime! Land a hit already!" You shout, wide smile on your faceplate as you shoot with your firing weapon at the taller mech.

And Optimus did fire at your pedes, which got to make you trip back - alas, when you fell backwards you fired and it got to his kneeplate, making him fall foward. In the end, the Prime had you caged on the floor.

Blue optics meet (color) optics with astonishment expressions. Suddenly the sound of his teammates fighting Megatron in the background became such a far, far away sound. Were you always this pretty this close? Well, you always kept moving, this may be the first time Optimus got to see you still! And well, he wasn't thaaat bad looking, right? You think, a small sly smirk forming on your faceplate.

Maybe that's why your cheekplates got a soft blue hue on them. And Optimus' cheekplates, too.

"Bee-wee-beep?"

Arcee and Smokescreen, with Megatron doing the same, turn their helms at you and Optimus were... to then feel like frozen in place.

Optics closed and holding each other closer as if long lost lovers (or two young bots with too many hormonal systems doing their jobs), you and the Prime were... making out. Primus, it was too much! (Bee swears, feeling his spark leaving his frame, he saw your glossa all tangled with Optimus'). It was sloppy, loud. Frag, you were even holding Optimus' helm from the back with your servos, preventing him from pulling back. Not like he was actually planning on doing it, with how he was holding your frame with his own servos.

While Arcee, Smokescreen and Bee were frozen in place, feeling like their softwares just fried up, in the blink of an optic, Megatron punched Optimus on his back, managing to sent him flying and separate him from you.

"YOUNG BOT, WHAT THE FRAG ARE YOU DOING?!" Megatron yells. angrily as he picks you from the back of your neck like a cat.

"That fine mech is a wiiild ride!" You answer back, giggling and cackling, all limp in Megatron's hold.

"WAIT UNTIL YOUR MOTH- I MEAN, STARSCREAM KNOWS ABOUT THIS - YOU'LL BE IN SERIOUS TROUBLE!" Megatron warns, throwing you over his right shoulderplate, turning around and starting to walk away.

"You two are not even my two creators - baby-Prime! I'll be back, I promise!" You shout your promise at the Prime, wide smiling and waving your servo at him, and then at his teammates before you and your leader enter an opened ground bridge.

Optimus stands up from the ground, dusting off his lap to then turn towards his three teammates, who still have shocked expressions on their faceplates.

"Heh... well..." He starts.

"Nah, Optimus - are you serious?" Smokescreen interrupted, wincing.

"Down bad." Arcee groaned, trying to forget the whole making out session she saw as Bee gave a few pats to her back, understanding her pain.

Well - this was going to be a funny story to tell back at the base!

I want to request for Buddy to be a Shatter glass Megatron long lost twin but has the original Megatron personality, i understand if you don't want to tho.

Ooooh! Haven't done one of these before! My knowledge of the Shattered Glass universe is a bit rusty, but I think this ended up pretty good for the knowledge. I did only 3 mechs this time around since these were the best I knew. Let me know if this isn't what you wanted.

Twin lowers his servo.

Without a doubt Twin is one of the best fighters in his army. An excellent strategist on most days. But sometimes when things get a little too heated, the lines tend to blur.

“Wait! Stop! He’s on our side!”--Megatron

“And how do you know that?”--Twin

“I was left for dead by the Autobots. I gave you the attack plans yesterday?!”--Sideswipe

Which leads to a question many Decepticons had asked.

Why wasn’t Twin second in Command?

It was a simple answer. He didn’t want to be second in Command. He was a soldier and would follow Megatron and his superiors into battle without hesitation.

Megatron misses the days when they would just listen to Twins poetry and manifestos about the corrupt government. A part of him which was now buried under years of pain and suffering from this blasted war.

He is glad that his twin remained loyal to the Decepticon cause and did not move to the power hungry Autobot side.

Megatron has had multiple spark attacks as Twin will fight any of his greatest enemies on sight. No joke.

They both met when the war was starting. Megatron himself gave him the introduction, which was interesting.

Despite some clash in morals and personality, the two worked well. Starscream had told him many tales of him and Skyfire before the war had happened. Twin is protective of Starscream after hearing how Starscream was nearly captured. It is on sight if Twin ever sees Skyfire.

“Skyfire, please reconsider!”--Starscream

“Enough traitor!”--Skyfire

Inside Twin’s helm

He still doesn’t know if this was a good idea or not. Twin knows things just as quickly as Megatron because they are so close.

Twin sometimes looks after the cassettes if Soundwave needs to be somewhere else.

Hopefully this hasn't been done before, but this is a request for headcanons. In a world where Cybertron eventually gets rebuilt, what would Knockout/Starscream/Soundwave be eager to show to their human S/O? Perhaps a potential date locations/activities or maybe just as thanks for being willing to share Earth culture with them now that they finally have the opportunity to do the same for them? A chance for S/O to see what they're like in their element, when they're not worried about an ongoing war?

This was a bit hard to write, since honestly I don’t know much about Cybertron itself or the places there, so I just kind of came up with my own things. I mostly focused on the whole “A chance for S/O to see what they're like in their element, when they're not worried about an ongoing war?”, because that struck me as most interesting about this ask. Also I elected to ignore the fact that humans can’t survive on Cybertron without a spacesuit, because I felt like it would be an extra hassle. I didn’t do Screamer, sorry, and I feel like I went off topic… There's also this post that's a bit similar

•You’d taught him so much during the time you spent together on earth and now he wanted to return the favor

•There were also a lot of places he wanted to show you on Cybertron, of course a lot of them were still in the process of being rebuilt or still in ruins

•One that was being rebuilt was the amphitheater that once served as the venue for the gladiator fights

•He has some fond memories of that place, but back when it was destroyed he didn’t really have much of a reaction to it, it seemed insignificant at the time

•But now that it was being rebuilt, he felt like it was a new beginning somehow, the place where he’d met Megatron and started his life as a decepticon, was now being made anew, and he had a chance to make a new life for himself too

•He of course doesn’t quite explain it to you like this, but you have an inkling about why he wanted to show it to you

•When the war was going on, you always felt like Soundwave was in this perpetual state of being tense

•It’s not like he had much time to relax after the war ended either, but he’s not as on edge all the time anymore

•He’s most relaxed when he’s with you and he has this new kind of peace now that he’s home

•You very quickly realize that he was never like this back on earth

•It’s not like he’s much different, but it’s like with the combination of having you and being home, he’s found himself again

•Oh boy, Knockout has so many places he wants to show you

•He drives you around the ruins of the biggest cities and shows you the places where he used to race

•There’s a ton of rebuilding going on now that Cybertron has been rejuvenated, and the refugees are returning to their home

•Knockout is definitely the nostalgic type, and he wants to show you all of his favorite places

•But the sad fact is, those places don’t really exist anymore, they’re mostly in ruins

•Knockout does manage to find some old pictures on a datapad that he had stashed away, and he tells stories about all the places he can

•It’s so nice to see him reminiscing about how his life was before the war, especially now that it’s over, and he doesn’t have to be in survival mode anymore

•Knockout has also come to the realization that he might want to spend some more time on earth, instead of staying on Cybertron

•Now that the war is finally over, he has come to realize that his time with you is limited, since your lifespan is so much shorter than his and he doesn’t want to waste a second

•During the war it was just a fact that anyone could die at anytime, so while he loved you deeply then too, he was always prepared for the fact that he might lose you

•Now that there’s not that kind of threat anymore, he isn’t so mentally prepared for the possibility anymore

•Anyway, Knockout is happy that his home is back, but he isn't really ready to return yet

Starscream when he learns Missfire is OP's soulmate. The emperor has completely lost his groove. There is no groove, old or new. Just Starscream wandering around the palace muttering "Missfire?" It takes Bee and Windblade a good 20 minuts to refocus him.

They meet because the Weak Anthropic Principle breaks down. Missfire is bitching about it on Swindlr and Optimus offers the Scavengers a ride back to cybertron. OP's at the tail end of a diplomatic mission so why not give mechs trying to get home to cybertron a helping hand? And if he can spend the trip back with the mech he's been chating up that would be lovely.

The Scavengers have a huddle and decide to check out the mystery mech with Optimus Prime spoof acount. Misfire gets sent to meet him. By the time the Scavengers are almost ready start searching for him Missfire walks back in the door. He has a dreamy smile on his face and is walking very funny. Happily brandishes the soulmate mark on his arm at the crew. It says It is my pleasure to finally meet you in person. "GUYS! He's the real deal. He's my sparkmate and he's the real deal!"

Krock looks at Missfire's arm, "So your sparkmate is really able to give all of us a ride to cybertron?" Krok asks to clarify. Misfire grinns at him. "Yeah that too! Optimus Prime actually put his real name as his Swindlr username! I clanged the Prime!"

Optimus' arm reads Well scrap you are your Swindlr username. Missfire may have haved swooned. Or passed out because he was running on energon fumes. Either way Optimus caught him before he hit the floor.

Scav group huddle sdfdsfgs yes. They thought they had thought of everything that could happen. Of course they sent their most expendab— energetic member.

They're trying to figure out if Misfire got murdered or not and he just. Fucking. Well he fucked the prime. I love how that's the first thing that went down as soon as they met and well the soulmate quotes things happened, ah yes your shop broke down time for surprise sexytimes.

Skyfire was a young explorer when he discovered Earth alone. Even though he didn't detect any intelligent life on the planet, Skyfire still wanted to explore the area. Unfortunately, poor Skyfire ended up being caught in that strong windstorm and end up being frozen for many years, missing most of the war.

When the Decepticons find Skyfire in that ice cave, Teenage Starscream is the one who find him. Even though Starscream never met this new bot, he still wants to help him. When Skyfire wakes up from his long slumber, the tall bot tried to get up while wondering he's at.

Starscream places his hand on Skyfire's shoulder, to which the latter grabbed it and making the former surprised by the act, blushing from it even. The little Seeker has never had physical contact like this before. Most of the physical contact Starscream receive usually just Megatron petting him on the head, ruffling it, and placing his hands on his shoulders. The other Decepticons don't even touch him as they see no reason to since they believe this Starscream clone won't least long.

The Seeker clone never had anyone held his hand before. This touch felt nice and fuzzy. When Skyfire is fully conscious, the first thing he sees is the young second-in-command as well as realizing he's holding the smaller bot's hand.

Megatron immediately welcomes Skyfire into the Decepitcons. The Decepitcon leader orders his ward and second-in-command to put their new member on guard duty. Starscream and Skyfire end up talking to each other and Starscream becomes happy to have someone his age to be with. Crimson Wing will be happy to know that her owner finally made a friend.

Skyfire feels out of place since everything change when he was in ice. But he's happy to help since he's making a new friend in Starscream. They continue to talk to the point they tell each other's dreams and likes. Skyfire tells his new friend that he wanted to be a scientist back on Cybertron while Starscream reveals that he wants to protect Earth life from the Autobots. But their conversation is interpreted when Megatron orders Starscream to return to his side.

When the Autobots arrive at the Arctic Circle, Skyfire does his best to fight the enemy. However, the moment that Spike and his father, Sparkplug, are in danger, Skyfire immediately goes to their rescue. While Sparkplug is nervous around Skyfire, Spike soon realize that the tall bot is harmless thanks to his past experiences with Starscream.

After Skyfire takes the two humans with back to the Decepticons to prove that they're the good guys, Starscream takes Spike and his father to a safer area. Though, he and Spike talk for a little bit about if this is what Starscream wants. Spike even points out that Megatron is unhappy with Skyfire for promising not to harm Spike and his father.

Hearing that, Starscream quickly goes to defend his new friend from his leader, telling Megatron that Skyfire isn't used to battle like the rest of them. Megatron quickly picks up that his young ward is starting to become close to their new recruit. Not wanting to create another clone because the ingredients are low and because he does have some fondness for the little Seeker, Megatron will use the excuse that Skyfire refusing to listen to orders to kill off the tall bot for distracting his second-in-command.

During the fight between the Autobots and Decepticons, both Starscream and Skyfire are conflict of having to fight each other since they develop a friendship during their short time together. Skyfire wants Starscream to come with him after realizing that the Decepticons are the true monsters as well as seeing how they treat Starscream.

Starscream wants Skyfire to come back to the Decepticons since the tall bot is the first Cybertronian that treated him so kindly other than Megatron. The Seeker clone is willing to plead with his father figure to forgive Skyfire's actions.

However, Megatron sees this as an opportunity to kill Skyfire while he orders Starscream to head back to the cave to get the Energon before the Autobots sees him, which Starscream reluctantly agrees. During the fight between Optimus and Megatron, Skyfire tries to help Optimus, unfortunately, Megatron uses this as his chance to offline the new tall Autobot.

Taking a chance, Megatron fires at his archenemy, but Skyfire quickly takes the shoots that he thought were meant for Optimus, hitting near his spark. Megatron orders the Decepticons to retreat just as Starscream returns with all the Energon he could carry while believing that the tall bot will die from his injuries. When the Seeker clone sees that his new friend isn't with the Decepticons, he desperately ask his mentor where is Skyfire.

Megatron, of course, lies to his young air commander, saying that the Autobots killed him merciless while begging everyone to stop fighting and work through their problems. Hearing that his new friend died in battle because of the Autobots, Starscream vows to bring down the evil Autobots after they took everything he cares about.

However, unknown to both Starscream and Megatron, Skyfire managed to survive but barely. Ratchet tells Optimus and the other Autobots that Skyfire will be live but he needs to recover, which will take months for him to do so. Skyfire cries out for Starscream despite him needing to save his energy. Spike promise Skyfire that they will save Starscream from Megatron.

Zeke screamed out in agony as he felt something injected into his back, directly into his spine. He could feel whatever it was crawling throughout his veins and burn his body from the inside out. He tried so hard to crawl away, resist, transform, anything, but there was nothing he could do. He was chained up in the air with no other possible way of getting down.

He didn't expect this to happen at all. Those demons that came from the sky, titans that transformed into vehicles and flying aircrafts. He thought he could initially handle it. He was able to kill some of them. But then their leader came down: Megatron. He dispatched of him so easily. He killed the rest of the Marleyans, including Pieck and Porco. And now he was a prisoner to these monsters.

Zeke continued screaming, but he somehow managed to hear the red one talking about his condition. Something about a new serum. He was talking about it to Megatron, and the titan seemed so gleeful that it terrified him. He had to leave. He had to get out. He had to do something. Bite his tongue?! Maybe! Ending his suffering now would be better than this.

Zeke mustered up the courage and the willpower to bite off his tongue and make himself bleed out, just to end this nightmare, but gasped when slender fingers reached out and forced his jaw to remain open. Zeke's eyes shakily drifted to the owner of the fingers, and was met face-to-face with his own reflection on a purple, faceless, titan.

"What did the human try to do?" Megatron demanded from him. Zeke watched as the faceless titan turned to Megatron, and saw himself in the mirror, getting ready to bite his tongue off.

"Well humans are pretty cowardly creatures," the red one commented.

"It's a known fact," Megatron agreed with the red one, "But this one clearly has never met someone that could actually outmatch him. So when met with an actual challenge, he buckles in fear."

"P-please....," Zeke forced out through the pain, "Please s-stop hurting me. Please stop."

Megatron couldn't help but laugh at that. "You're begging for mercy now, Zeke Jaeger? Awfully hypocritical of you, isn't it? You turned your own into those repugnant monsters without a second thought. On top of that,"

The faceless titan turned back to Zeke, and the titan shifter was shown the newspaper headline of the Eldian Restorationists lead by Grisha.

"You sold out your own creators," Megatron finished, "For some elaborate plan that Soundwave can't find the meaning of."

The faceless titan, Soundwave, finally let go of Zeke's jaw. Zeke tried to move, but he no longer had the energy to try.

"Do not think that you will be getting out of this situation so easily." Zeke felt a claw placed under his chin, and his head was raised to look Megatron in the eye, "I will discover how the power of those titans work, and that power will soon belong to me."

Megatron's claw let go of Zeke, and the titan shifter's head slumped forward. The titan shifter felt tears form in his eyes, unable to hear a command that Megatron was giving Soundwave due to how exhausted he was.

(Zeke doesn't have a fun time in the War and Dark Timeline. He gets lucky in the Revenge Timeline simply because he's smart enough to tell Megatron about Starscream.)

Song: TRISTELLA by Esperón. Starscream was offlined, but his spark did not went to the Well of the All Sparks - Instead, it followed the one and only bot his spark longed for. And thus, the other bot grieves.

WARNINGS: Angst and tragic romance. Character death. Using the name Skyfire instead of Jetfire. Shatter glass universe. My take on 'what happened after?'. Mentions of depression, suicide and self-loath behaviour.

All stars are the result of a balance of forces - a violent process. Starscream's death was like watching the birth of a star - bright. Loud. Painful.

Living up to his name - after getting shot by Goldbug on his back, barely missing his spark, the seeker wailed and his voice reached the stars. And Skyfire would have cried back if it wasn't the words of the seeker that managed to freeze him in place just for a moment.

The same words Skyfire always thought whenever he thought of Starscream, but desperately and coldly tried to change, but always failing to either forget it or say it outloud.

I love you.

The moment his spark got taken brutally, Skyfire's world crumbled down once again. He was doomed to always lose the one he loves, isn't he? He was scared to take his servo, to follow him, always doubting everything and himself - that's why the mech he wished to take as a conjux was now truly out of his reach. Even when he got to rescue Starscream's spark... there's nothing else for them after that. Just like any bot that was met with their demise, Starscream's bright spark was going to follow it's process and return to the Well of the All Spark...

The spark did flew from his servos once Skyfire escaped with it - and with a broken spark, the taller mech promised to do better, to end the war in the name of the mech he loved.

He was never going to aling totally to the Decepticons' cause, but he has long dettached from the Autobots - after the war ended, the Decepticons forgave his wrong doings and choices after helping them stop the Autobots. Still, Skyfire isolated himself from the new world it was being built - after all, he would rather have his voice than their causes.

Skyfire.

It started with small things - he would catch glimpses of a bright ball of light of both bright blue and orange color. Then the sight of sad yet full of love optics in any reflections for a few kliks before they disappeared. Soft whispers in the air and in the night. And finally...

You haven't been recharging - you'll catch a virus if you keep doing that!

The bright spark only produced bell-like noises - but somehow, Skyfire understood it... "I've lost my mind-" The mech said, staring at the spark that floated righ in front of his faceplate. But when his servo moved to touch the spark, it produced a giggle-like sound, to then twirl and then... disappear.

It kept appearing - either on solar cycles or the lunar cycles. At first Skyfire tried to ignore it. It was just a product of the guilt he kept carrying deep inside of his own spark, he was finally losing it. And yet, the spark kept appearing, making him company or following him. And it was just as stubborn as Skyfire.

"Leave me alone!" Skyfire once yelled, in the middle of the night, hurt and frustrated. "You are not him - he is gone! My Starscream is gone!" Even when the spark looked like him, the one he loved was no longer here... but oh, how he wished to have Starscream back, to hold him. The mech would never admit it, but after yelling at the spark, he broke down, crying his optics out and wailing (like Starscream wailed at the pain when he got shot on his back). And the spark disappeared - it left Skyfire in the darkness of his room... to then slowly start to reappear - this time, right between the mech's armplates, as if it was being held.

I may not be him - but I am what he felt about you. Even after everything, I've been there the whole time. Even when it brought him warmth or sadness, I've been there. And I'm still here, Skyfire.

With such sad eyes, the spark sang - and Skyfire wished he could actually hold the spark and kiss it. He allowed himself to cry as the spark kept him company, loving to listen the sphere of light and energy talk to him until he fell into a needed recharge he has been not allowing himself to have out of self-loath.

"I did this to you, Starscream..."

I did this to myself too, my love - everyone did this to me, and to themselves, and to everyone, too. We are culprits and innocents, at some degree.

"Even in your last moments, you forgave me for my weakness."

Deep down, I knew you were afraid.

Sometimes, whenever Skyfire would catch glimpses of the spark being a shooting star on the starry nightsky, he would ask himself if this was part of the process for a spark to go back to the Well of the All Sparks. Would his own spark look after a Starscream from another universe where he didn't die? Keeping him company and talking to him? Maybe - if it mean to attone to his sins.

Stop. It makes me sad to feel you like this, my love.

"You are not here with me - how can I not be sad?"

And yet, Skyfire would smile as he extended his servo, allowing the spark to 'rest' on it and hear his bell-like sounds, as if a lullaby it was. He wouldn't mind to have his spark go through the same process this bright spark was going through, too. He would be able to finally stop being a coward and tell Starscream how much he loved him, that his life was a gift for the seeker.

"How can I set you free?" Skyfire asked in a whisper.

I'm already free.

"Why haven't you go back to the Well of the All Spark, then?"

It was his last wish before he was long gone - to be by your side. I am not him, I am what he felt for you, Skyfire. Once the time arrives, I'll guide you to the Well of the All Spark, for him and you to meet again.

"I love you." He whispered.

"I love you too." He whispered back.

His love for you has always been there, and it's still here. And will always be.

The consequences of the war haunted Skyfire until the very last day of his life. Megatron saw it with his own optics. The former leader was always fearful to visit the other mech and find him long gone by his own servos - but thanfully, got to see the other mech still alive. Oddly enough, even in the sea of depression Skyfire was drowning himself, Megatron swears he could see a light of happiness in the optics of Skyfire.

"He offlined naturally - there are no signs of his own doing to provoke it. It was peaceful." Shockwave explained. Megatron looked sadly down at the cold frame of Skyfire.

"His spark is now in the Well of the All Sparks - finally, with Starscream's" Megatron said, sadly, but hopeful.

At night, among the many other stars, a bright blue-orange spark and a purple spark pass by as shooting stars, together. They are a memory of what they were before, but happy and together, at last.

Felt a rush of inspiration, here it is! I hope you all like it! Quite tragic, poetic even.

Amnesiac starscream au: o bird of love

When he awoken, something felt off.

Not in the usual 'something bad will happen to you cause primus hates you' type of bad.

Kind of……secretive? Mischievous?

He doesn't know how to put it, everyone was scuffling around whenever he enters a room, attempting to badly hide something, whatever it is, he finds lots and lots of cans of paint of various colours, and…..gems??

(Where did they get the gems, why do they have gems???)

Then everyone disappeared.

He looked everywhere, up and down, every nook and cranny of the warehouse, until he found a small datapad with a set of coordinates.

He was hesitant, he shouldn't leave the base, he's known as a danger to the humans….

But what if they're hurt?

What if they're kidnapped? Or brainwashed? Or in danger from the decepticons and-

No, no , it was not the time for his cowardice, if they're are in danger, he will help them!.

And so, starscream soared over, scanning the planet for any signs of battle.

As more time gone by, his own panicked thoughs came through with a vengeance.

(See what happens when bots are nice to you? You are a warframe, a horrible being by design, you stray too far from your purpose and this is waht you get, you should've stayed an obedient little robot and listened to your masters and died like a pathetic killer you are-)

Starscream arrived at the coordinates place, it was a clearing , surrounded by rows and rows of colorful flowers, at the edge was tall, blooming trees, it was serene, calm, it felt…familiar, like home, where skyfire and him would go on the vosian crystal forests, watching the wildlife with child-like wonder, from the small petrorabbits to turbofoxes to copper-deer, all cycles of life beautiful in their own rights.

"Starscream!"

Oh, there's his beloved flame's voice.

He turns, and gasp in awe.

All of them, all of them were covered in vosian style decorations, handmade from earth materials, paint adorning their frames in long, curved lines of various shapes and colours, ranging from pinks to blues to red and purples.

Yet skyfire was the most handsome he has ever been.

His frame was adorned with gems and jewellery, bold curved lines of navy and magenta and crimson decorated his body, gems ranging in size and color made his frame glow in the light, beside him are his beloved little twins, beaming smiles as they excitedly looked at their own decorations, lines of colour reminiscent of both his and skyfire's own color.

He couldn't stop staring, it was a little tense, the silence stretched on for a few extra minutes before he broke down with joyous tears.

He couldn't stop hugging them, repeating a mantra of thank yous over and over, they did this, for him.

And starscream could be happier.

They partied, and danced, and had their fun, starscream telling of vosian legends and myths while the rest listen like eager children, and skyfire taking the others for a flight on his back, relish in their joy (and angry curses from ratchet), feeding them the best he can make with earth materials, wonderful Delicacies of vos, ranging from their sweetness candies to their spiciest Foods.

In the end, the seeker decided to gift their friends with a final show of appreciation, and soared into the skyies.

Their bodies twirled and twisted in the air, elegant and graceful, soaring around eachother before dipping downwards, their dance and glee echoing in the small clearing, maneuvering in the air with great skill and prowess, wowing their ground bound freinds and the young seekerlings.

In the final act, they soared high, so high that they feel the clouds, embracing eachother as hovered.

"Darling star of mine, can you be mine, as i am yours?"

Starscream lips met the shuttle's own soft lip, engines rumbling with content.

"Daring flame of mine, i am yours as you are mine, forever and always, my love…"

All their joy, all their excitement, the group failed to see a set of red eyes from afar.

"There's you are, traitor…"

Opinion: Optimus is at his best when his narrative role is mentor, not hero.

Like. From the beginning, Optimus was meant to be this wise, noble leader. G1 is full of moments where he imparts some nugget of wisdom on the other characters, even if said nuggets are... not always context-appropriate (telling someone not to give up on their dreams is fine, but maybe not when they’re lamenting the failure of a mind control plot?). And of course, this was the 80′s, so the good guys always won in the end. Which meant that Optimus' decisions were always right - or at least, there weren’t lasting consequences if he was wrong.

There isn’t anything inherently wrong with having a character like that. The problem is that, if they’re already the wisest and most capable member of the cast, they have nothing to learn. And usually, when a character has nothing left to learn, they aren’t the protagonist. And, okay. It was an episodic cartoon without any real overarching plot. None of the characters grew or changed in any lasting way. But you still had lessons put in there for the kids watching: Spike and Sparkplug both had “you don’t give up on people you love” episodes, Bumblebee had a similar moment with Optimus, the Dinobots and the Aerialbots both had rebellious phases that resulted in their decisively siding with the Autobots, and more. As long as the kids were getting positive messages, it didn’t matter if the characters changed.

Again, nothing inherently wrong with that. But Optimus never has one of those moments where he learns from his team. Because he has nothing to learn (well, he does, but we never see it happen). And that makes him... not very interesting, except as a power fantasy with a side of dad jokes. Which is fine if you like that sort of thing, but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that most fanfiction portrayals of Optimus don’t have the dad jokes and trash talking during battle. Which brings me back to my main point: Optimus is at his best when his narrative role is mentor.

I know I have a something of a reputation for not liking Optimus, but that’s not a blanket statement. There are several Optimuses I don’t like, and at least as many that I haven’t met, but I do like two of them: Armada and TFP. Armada Optimus was very much a mentor character. He had no major plotlines of his own, save for his obligatory phoenix moment (and even that served more to advance the character arcs of Hot Shot and Starscream - our main protagonists by that point in the series). Most of the time, especially as the Autobot cast grew, Optimus was just there in the background. He fought battles and said wise things, and that was pretty much it. I can understand why one might say he had no personality, because his character didn’t change much over the course of the story.

But honestly, he didn’t need to. His purpose in the story was to help others grow, and he did just that. A plot-reliant story doesn’t benefit from having the character who already knows everything hogging the spotlight (and whether you liked Armada’s early episodes or not, most of the series did have a plot). TFP Optimus was the same. The only real change in his character - not counting the woefully brief Orion Pax arc - is when he accepts that the war is never going to end while Megatron is alive. The rest of the time, he’s in the background, and outside of battles, his main role is to provide wisdom for the other characters (though, again, it’s not always context-appropriate. “Revenge isn’t worth it” is a good lesson, but I still think Arcee should have killed Airachnid).

And yes. I know TFP Optimus is what some might consider boring. As an introvert, I don’t care. Let me have the Optimus I relate to and go watch G1 if you prefer basketball and jokes.

As a final note, I’m not saying Optimus can only be good when he’s a mentor character. Fans can write whatever they want, and even in canon, Optimus isn’t always the Wise One. TFA took a very different approach to his character, and while I’ve only seen a few episodes, it was an interesting approach. That version of Optimus could absolutely fill the role of a protagonist with much to learn, and he might not even be too annoying while he’s at it (his voice, sadly, is not as pleasing to listen to as Peter Cullen’s Optimus, or David Kaye’s Megatron. Which is sad, because I love David Kaye as Megatron). TL;DR: if Optimus is going to be wise and infallible, he’s better suited to a mentor role. Also, the Optimuses I like are probably the ones no one else does, which means I have gained exactly no ground with Optimus’ fans, and may have actually lost points for liking Armada (don’t care, it was my first Transformers series and I love it).

Hi! Do you remember the headcanons of the Autobots having a human charge they got to see grow up and start a family? And after several years back at Cybertron during rebuilding efforts, they come across that human’s descendants now that humanity reached a point they could travel the stars. Can we get a version but with the Decepticons?

The post this ask is referring to can be found here. I’m again going to ignore everything that happened in predacons rising, just because I can and the end of season three too actually. Megatron would have the same character development as in predacons rising though, if that makes sense. This ended up very  long for HCs, at least for me, but I do feel like this is in some ways better than the bot version

•They cons met you when you were a teenager and you just became a friend to them all

•They watched you grow and start a family of your own, and when they left to rebuild cybertron, your oldest kid was 13

•Years and years and years go by and many of the cybertronians who fled the war, have returned and the rebuilding is going in full force

•It takes a long time to get the planet back to its feet so to say, and one day there is a call on the comms, asking for permission to land on the planet

•This is of course regarded with quite a lot of hesitance, but Soundwave happens to hear the call and he thinks the voice sounds familiar, so he grants the vessel permission to doc

•Soundwave of course makes sure the other decepticons who were on earth at back then, hear about the humans who arrived

•So there is a bit of a welcoming committee greeting the space adventurers who’ve arrived and three human’s step out of the vessel in their space gear

•There are some curious onlookers too of course, but the humans don’t really seem all that scared

•Megatron is of course the first to ask what the might be doing on cybertron, he isn’t really interested in how the humans got there, but more of they why

•The oldest of the three, asks the cons if they recognize them, and as Knockout takes a closer look, he gasps in surprise and picks up the human

•”You’re (Name)’s child right?” he asks excitedly

•The humans answers in the affirmative and introduces the two others that are with him as his younger siblings

•Soundwave shows your picture on his visor with a question mark

•The trio looks at each other with rather somber faces, no one ever likes to break the news of someone else’s death

•The humans inform the decepticons that you have passed some years ago

•Pretty much all of the cons get a bit of an odd look on their faces, Knockout is most obviously upset

•Megatron never really took to your kids, so he doesn’t really care about them that much, because you were the only human he could ever really stand

•He’s of course saddened by the news, but he doesn’t really show it, he’s never been of the emotional sort, unless the emotion was anger

•Knockout is pretty spark broken, because he really wanted to see you again, and now he feels really bad for losing track of time so badly

•Starscream finally arrives too, and he’s of course immediately questioning, what the group of humans are doing there and who they are

•Megatron just bluntly states that these humans are your offspring which shuts up Starscream quite effectively

•After a moment of silence, Starscream of course ask “Well where is (Name)?”

•Knockout just states that you’ve passed away and Screamer starts bitterly muttering something about how humans live such a short time

•The trio of humans are told my Megatron that they’re free to stay as long as they please, but he has some business to attend to and has to leave

•One of your kids comments something about him never being the sentimental sort, which Megatron can’t really argue with

•The others, Starscream, Knockout and Soundwave stay and you share some stories

•They’re very interested in the end of your life and how you were in your twilight years

•The kids share stories about your older years, while the three cons tell them what you were like as a teenager and before your kids came along

•There’s a lot of laughter and some tears, but everyone is happy to talk about you

•Knockout is definitely the most nostalgic one, but Starscream isn’t very far behind

•They all miss you but it’s nice to share stories to deal with the grief

With Discord Vs Bill getting a spotlight in the Death Battle Poll, let’s look back at previous fights..

Rainbow Dash Vs Starscream

For the time, I think it was pretty good. The banter between the two was great and for one of Ben’s earlier works it is well done. The research could have been better but that’s still in the early days of Ponies and they had weeks to do the research and animation on their own. Would the results be different if we did this now? I’m not sure. Starscream ain’t no Optimus Prime, but his match did show how powerful the Transformers could be if you look into them more. And sadly my knowledge of Starscream is limited to make the assumption one way or another. Meanwhile Rainbow Dash got stronger and faster. While others I feel put them a little too highly, it honestly wouldn’t surprise me if Rainbow Dash still beats Starscream. He’s a person that literally screams “please beat me up”.

Pinkie Pie Vs Deadpool

This is obviously a joke fight. It was always meant to be and I think it was pretty fun. Especially when they met the actual people behind the show. And seeing them visit other Death Battles was fun as well. Was it a good season finale, probably not but that was the way the dice was rolled. But if it didn’t end in a draw, who would really win this fight? As seen with Deadpool Vs the Mask, Deadpool has no real counter to Cartoon Shenanigans. But luckily for him Pinkie’s isn’t as extreme as the Mask. And if Deadpool has the Continuity Gem, he could defeat Pinkie Pie. We’ve seen numerous examples of Pinkie Pie changing because of an outside influence. So the Continuity Gem could give us Tribal Pinkie Pie or Sombra War Pinkie Pie or Marble Pie Pinkie Pie. But that is non-standard for him so I could see Pinkie Pie 

Twilight Sparkle Vs Raven

Sadly, I think this one got more hate than it should now. Back then, I was hearing stories about Death Battle Fans looking to the Pony Fandom for Salt when they were looking at the one person who believed Raven couldn't beat Twilight. Now I see people saying that Twilight was lowballed (still losing to Raven) and some people not wanting Death Battle to do ponies again. To the point that someone was making a petition to stop Bill Vs Discord from happening (there’s more to that, but won’t bring it up beyond this). The thing is that the match was still under the old style of Research. Everyone gave their inputs and opinions. While I don’t think Twilight is as powerful as people think she is, I think if she was done today she would be more buffed up compared to then. 

Look at Thor’s evolution from the three different generations. Thor Vs Raiden was still with just the internal team. Thor Vs Wonder Woman was when the research team was free to research any match and not research it when they wanted. And Thor Vs Vegeta showed how a dedicated Researcher to a character will boost them more. Still won’t beat Raven, as she was likely also not as researched as she could be now, but still would probably satisfy people who are Pony Fans and in the Vs Community.

Discord Vs Bill Cipher

Now that it has been revealed, I won’t saw anything since this hasn’t even started yet. But I do hope that whatever happens, everyone will be cool about it.

This could be spoilers for my WIP fic The Life and Times of Skywarp, but I think I am going to....

Also have Starscream, Skywarp, and Thundercracker eventually be a trine (they do end up using this term in this continuity).

I think Skywarp had other options. IDK if this would be as true in other continuities, but Skywarp could have taken Ion's place as a Rainmaker early on, but he didn't feel strongly enough about Cid and Nova to make anything formal.

He also had a chance with Cyberwarp and Skyjack to become a formal trine. (And it's not like they disappear, I think they just have a different relationship with him.)

And there's others he could have recruited along the way.

I suspect Thundercracker also had some options. In this continuity he went in a direction in which not as many other Seekers decided to base, so he was in Iacon when the majority of Seekers were in the southeast (Vos, Tesarus, Helex, Hydrax, Kaon)

(Someone's looking at those five cities thinking they are wrong somehow).

This part is more spoilery:

Thundercracker was separately in contact with Haze Over (don't worry about it) and Aria and already good friends with Hotlink.

(though Hotlink in this continuity was in a formal but platonic situation with Slipstream and Bitstream from early on.)

I think they meet finally, all three: Starscream and Skywarp and Thundercracker in a certain academy setting. I think they've all heard of each other though at that point, but not all three met face to face.

I think there's a web of types of attraction between them that grows when they see each other fly for the first times.

Like, Starscream is just mad fast and generally agile, can do crazy nose dives, and will make use of hybrid forms and transformation to wreck a foe.

Thundercracker is more powerful on acceleration for short bursts but incredibly acrobatic at the same time. Like, he's that one who can do the demonstration team stunts and fly inverted over your cockpit and just reliably will not mess up a formation. He's strong and stable.

Skywarp is a generally skilled flyer. He's fast, but not fastest. He's not the most powerful, but he's powerful. But he really gets movement in three or four dimensions on a core instinctual level. If there is a chance he's not in formation, he is one who can quickly react to correct or accommodate changes. If all else fails: teleport.

They let Starscream lead in combat, but Thundercracker probably flies lead for travel.

I don't think they necessarily like each other all the time, outside of flying together. There's probably eras in which Starscream and Skywarp are pretty toxic together. Like, they can both think that they feel sorry for the other. They can both at times be jealous of the other. Starscream can tell Skywarp he's stupid. Skywarp can bring up Jetfire in painful ways.

Starscream has a potentially unsettling "I helped make you" aspect to his relationship with either of the other two. And they have a potentially unsettling "sorry the Quintessons enslaved and tortured you but could you really have not freed us sooner or were you waiting to make us your own army...? But we'll consent to become that army now, because we have so many common enemies."

Thundercracker probably actually likes and/or is attracted to both the other two in some ways. He appreciates how both are smart, but differently. He likes the companionship. He likes how they'll read what he writes, even if they act like it's a chore or have some notes.

I think Skywarp likes Thundercracker. Like, they both probably have it in them to go pretty dark or get angry or be mean but Thundercracker tries to be somewhat honorable. And Skywarp is like, it's OK, I'll do the dirty work, I don't think he's squeamish. Like, there's a touch of coward/anxiety in there, but he'll kill a bot and if he can do it and Thundercracker doesn't have to, then he probably thinks this is a way of being nice and kind to Thundercracker, even if others interpret differently. Like, TC can play strong protector, but Skywarp will take the sneaky ninja path to defend his trinies.

Starscream is manipulative and the other two probably do know when he's doing it to them. But, I think they try to tell him somehow he doesn't have to. Like, he could just ask or command, they'd try to make him happy. But I think he does really like them as much as he's capable of liking. He knows they are not stupid, even if he won't tell them. He knows they are among the best fliers. He knows they have combat skills. He knows they have useful outlier abilities. Maybe it's narcissism, but he wants them, for him.

The elite trine trining is such a fun concept to explore.

There are so many fics of it either being arranged, accidental, or years of courtship. Or Megatron just shoving them to room together because he knows seekers group in three.

I don’t like settling on one concept either. How I imagine them trining changes all the time.

I am picturing so many shenanigans.

Listen since they are referencing G1 so much it doesn't start as Dinobot/Dinosaur Island but Shockwave is left alone too long and he finally checked out the human internet spoke to one nerd a little too long and was sent Jurraisic Park and now there are dinosaurs.

The JazzWaveProwlTara family just wake up to Starscream shouting about this and ready to wring his neck while clutching a whining baby T-Rex who is gnawing on his hand. They have dinosaurs now. Shockwave did careful research not to affect the environment and everyone is fascinated. Swindle turns into a moneymaking opportunity, and they have their own instagram and followers. The T-Rex is named Rexy via internet vote.

The next disaster is Breakdown getting the boot and towed in Kentucky and they have to break him out before he gets uncovered because he's banned from the state after several incidents at the racing rink. Which is when, with Tara's holoform, the Cassettes, and Jazz, they also find Bumblebee arrested too and call the Autobots to pick him up.

Deadlock shows up and Starscream and them think they are fucked because he didn't part from them on good terms to say the least but he appears as a plus one to Ratchet. Who everyone says "I thought you died??" to only for her to roll her eyes and Deadlock to follow behind besotted and threatening.

Jazz and Prowl are thrilled by the reunion and everyone gets a check up.

Thundercracker shows back up and, as part of their attempt to ease tensions, makes a documentary about it. It is supposed to be a serious demonstration of compliance and their history and it is, but it has a lot of parts with Decepticons being silly, baby nonsense, and Shockwave making unholy abominations because he manages to sneak a read of the Emberstone and while he was banned from making more dinosaurs making babies is clearly allowed so part of the documentary is his announcing Specimen Zero escaped and can fly and a very loud shout from Starscream of "YOU MADE A DRAGON!" and Shockwave saying,"I made a protoform." and then having to pull a biting baby Predaking from the trees. All this broken up by snippets of Trine Reunion drama as Thundercracker brought their human partner Marissa and their pet dog.

Everyone is deeply invested in the Decepticon Reality Television and there's a whole following about Breakdown's 'secret boyfriend' while Bee sweats nervously in the background.

The Maltos have definitely watched.

More serious thought though occur, of them receiving a message on a Decepticon frequency saying, "Calling all Decepticons. Calling all Decepticons stationed on Earth. Your hailing signal has been received. Assistance en route. Lord Galavatron's ship the Revenge en route."

I wholeheartedly blame Shockwave for why there are dinosaurs in rescue bots so naturally naturally he's cloning them back here too (plus side: the sparklings playing with fluffy raptors?) Tarantulas helped him and they called Nighty as a consult on occasion because that'd be adorable

Your superhero au is giving me brain worms to write a fanfic! Are there any headcanons that you have for each character?

Indeed there are!

- Ratchet developed the synth-en formula because he felt useless as the only member of the team without powers.

- Ultra Magnus is ex-military and subsequently quite regimented and disciplined. His super senses do not help with this, since they can be quite overwhelming and force him to remain stoic at all times.

- Breakdown does not have invulnerable skin like Bulkhead but makes up for it by being slightly stronger. Still, he tends to get beat up a lot.

- Knock Out's powers must always remain in balance. If he imbues someone with too much energy or withdraws too much energy from someone, he'll collapse either from exhaustion or an energy overload.

- Some time ago, Starscream attempted to murder Megatron by draining the oxygen from his lungs. Let's just say he was punished quite severely and has never attempted anything so bold since.

- No one can confirm whether Soundwave is telepathic or not. He just always seems to know things he shouldn't...

- It's not uncommon for Wheeljack to accidentally blow something up when he's excited. Needless to say, everyone at the Autobot base has had to take cover many times (Optimus and Ultra Magnus have scolded Wheeljack on numerous occasions).

- Smokescreen likes to think he's invincible as a result of his powers. His arrogance has nearly cost him his life.

- Alpha Trion was the last champion of Primus. Optimus (Orion at the time) was shocked when he was chosen as the next champion after Alpha Trion's death (after all, he was just a librarian).

- Driven by jealousy, Megatron made a pact with Unicron when Orion became Optimus. As Unicron's champion, Megatron swore to destroy Optimus and seize control of the world in Unicron's name.

- Arcee has lost two close friends to the Decepticons and subsequently has a deep-seated need to protect her teammates; she'll use her force fields to protect them before thinking of her own safety.

- Bumblebee's throat was slashed open by one of Megatron's energy beams, leaving him mute and with a thick scar, which he tries to hide with turtlenecks and collars. Sometimes he remains at bee size just so no one sees him.

- Bulkhead and Wheeljack were a superhero duo together before they met the Autobots. Bulkhead chose to join them despite Wheeljack's protests. It took some time for Wheeljack to finally join, too, though Bulkhead was overjoyed when he did.

- Airachnid was the first villain Arcee ever faced. Though Airachnid managed to kill Arcee's friend, Tailgate, Arcee still beat her in the end, and Airachnid ended up in prison for years. When the Decepticons broke her out and offered her a place in their ranks, she gladly accepted as a means to get back at Arcee, who was now an Autobot.

- Shockwave's actually pretty neutral to the whole Autobot and Decepticon conflict; he just sticks with the Cons because they support his unethical research.

I accidentally deleted 2000 words of story for poor Soundwave last night and had to rewrite everything but tbh, they’re absolutely worthit.  Their armor definitely makes me want to experiment with Celtic motifs for Hot Rod!

Suraya Widodo was born to parents Wijaya and Ni Made Saraswati on the island of Madura, Indonesia. They noticed that something didn’t quite seem right with their baby, who was fussier than most, threw fits when brought into crowded spaces and seemed mostly lost in their own thoughts, though this did little to dampen their love.

The name ‘Widodo’ (healthy) was given to Suraya (despite the masculine nature of it, which does lend to Suraya’s nonchalance about their gender in later years) in hopes that they would grow up alright despite their quirks.

Wijaya, a fisherman who wanted to give his family a better life in the more industrialized town of Bangkalan west of the island, pushed himself hard at his work, hoping to earn enough to allow them to settle down there comfortably.

He began to risk venturing out into ocean areas which were occasionally used as smuggling routes where more lucrative catches laid, careful to fish there during specific times to the day to avoid crossing paths with pirates and smugglers.

However, his luck ran out one day when a smuggling vessel came across him in broad daylight and silenced him from alerting the coast guards to their existence with five shots.

Suraya was five.

Saraswati, desperate to find a way to care for her child as the new breadwinner thought she had gotten lucky when a job scouter for a factory in Bangkalan came to the village. They were looking to offer work to single mothers as part of their corporate responsibility programme and extended the offer of employment to her and promised a hostel and training so she wasn’t out of her depth in the assembly line.

Seeing it as the best option, she left Suraya with her husband’s family while she worked and lived in a worker’s hostel on weekdays and returned to see Suraya every weekend.

She would give money to the family to care for Suraya in her absence, which was crucial since they weren’t fond of Saraswati (they had not agreed to Wijaya’s marriage) and found Suraya’s odd behavior off-putting and claims of ‘hearing voices’ potentially a sign of mental illness (which was fodder for them to demand even more money from Saraswati with the excuse that Suraya was a handful).

This routine continued until Saraswati was suddenly killed in a factory accident.

Suraya was nine.

The compensation for Saraswati’s death was enough for the family for only a few months and after it dried up, the neglect and abuse began. Though at times it was odd because Suraya seemed to know when they were in a bad mood and when they were looking for an outlet for their anger, and  the child would somehow almost always magically disappear during those times.

Then an agent claiming to be from the government came to see them.

He claimed he had heard about Suraya via their mother and wanted to inspect the child to see if they would qualify for a place in a ‘special school’ for ‘different’ children, and this had sounded tame enough to the family, who allowed him to see the shy, withdrawn little waif.

However Suraya immediately could tell what his true intentions were—-to have them locked up in a testing facility to figure out their ‘mutation’—-and attempted to run, only to be caught by his fellow officers outside the home.

The family was paid compensation for officially relinquishing Suraya’s care to the state, and did so without question, only relieved to be rid of their ‘burden’.

Suraya was taken to facility after facility in the state for the first few years to have a battery of tests, many painful, run on them to figure out their ‘special ability’ as an Outlier and to see if it could be replicated.

When they were in their early teens, they were transported overseas to a different facility as a bargaining chip for intel, tech and the like, coming into the ‘care’ of people who intended to use them as a government asset.

They never saw daylight except during transportation and they began to plan their escape as they studied the facility’s layout.

Their first attempt at escape didn’t go well however; they were caught, dragged back and had their eyes burned and blinded as punishment (at this point they had shown their handlers that their highly-enhanced hearing made them capable of navigating the world in total darkness, so said handlers didn’t not see this as ‘damaging the goods’).

If the handlers thought that the punishment would deter them however, it didn’t; Suraya just became more careful and subtle with the planning of their next attempt.

The second attempt came during a transport session where there were less guards and less access to tech to subdue them, though it came with a problem they did not plan for.

In their first attempt, they had tried escaping into the countryside. In this one, they hurled themselves out completely unprepared into a world louder than any world they had ever known; downtown London on a weekend.

The cacophony completely overwhelmed their senses and they barely managed to crawl-stumble into an alley as bounty hunters were enlisted to track them down.

It was here that they ran into one Ramiro Vasquez (Ravage) who was immediately concerned about their situation and once figuring out the nature of their distress, gave them his headphones to drown out the noise and kept them safe and hidden until the bounty hunters had left.

He then took Suraya back to the rented apartment he shared with Lara Soelberg (Laserbeak) and both agreed to let the waif stay with them for as long as they needed to be alright, and the three formed a little familial unit as Suraya grew deeply fond of the two Beast Men whom they saw as two of the most compassionate people in a horrible world.

Ramiro however understood that Suraya needed tutelage to properly harness and deal with their Outlier ability; having heard whispers of a secret Outlier school run Senator Sharifuddin Waseem (Shockwave) and knowing Sharifuddin as one of the few good men in the Senate, he decided to take the risk and confronted the Senator about the matter, promising to keep the secret a secret in return for helping out Suraya.

As it turned out the threats were not necessary, as Sharifuddin was genuinely  concerned for them and came to see them personally at the apartment. Initially,  Suraya was apprehensive about meeting someone else about their abilities, remembering full well how the first such meeting ended, but to their pleasant surprise, they detected no malice in Sharifuddin’s intentions; only the desire to help.

They agreed to enroll in Sharifuddin’s Outlier institute, coming back home to see Ramiro and Lara every weekend.

They excelled in their classes and soon mastered their ability and knew how to deal with the overstimulation that came from it, to the point where they could walk the streets with no problem.

In the wake of murders of Senators Nikomedes Momus and Gayathri Sharma, Suraya offered to become a spy for Sharifuddin, who was determined to solve the deaths, and Sharifuddin began bringing them to Senate meetings under the guise of them being his new aide.

They caught the eye of Senator Radbourne (RatBat) who seemed to pick up the fact that they were an Outlier, but rather than bring up the matter, requested that they work with him as well on.... matters regarding his constituents with disabilities.

Sharifuddin has his reservations about Radbourne and Suraya knew they were up to no good and both agreed to the arrangement so Suraya could dig up more information about them.

As it turned out, Radbourne was dirty as dirty as politicians came, but he had nothing to do with the murders. Rather, he was mostly preoccupied with an individual named Morgan Trayton (Megatron), the same individual whom Omar Parvez (Orion Pax)  a friend of Sharifuddin’s, had mentioned as a great writer.

Radbourne asked Suraya to track down Morgan with an offer the man hopefully wouldn’t refuse and Suraya, intrigued about this man with what they’d heard about him from Omar, agreed to do so.

They found Morgan in a vast underground fighting ring in Moscow, and after voicing some skepticism about him walking his written talk, he allowed them to peek into his mind to see how genuine and committed he was to his cause, and it took them aback for a bit to meet someone who despite being mired in tragedy, had Sharifuddin’s desire to make a better world and the iron will to back it up.

They pledged themself to be among the first members of Morgan’s rising revolution (which was aided by Omar spreading his writings through an underground press) and told them about Radbourne’s offer to supply weapons and augmentations to increase profits from the pitfighting racket.

Morgan agreed if only to use these exact items against the Senate once he’d acquired an army.

It was during this time with Morgan that they also met Ramsey (Rumble) and Friedel (Frenzy), a pair of dwarf miners who the man had been friends with for years, and almost immediately got along with their boisterous, gregarious natures. 

They continued to be Radbourne’s liaison with Megatron until the start of the Clampdown when they watched Morgan kill the owner of the Pit, free those who wanted their freedom and take those who were loyal to him to meet with Sharifuddin to formally establish a rebellion.

It was about this time that Suraya found out that Radbourne had been conducting illegal experiments on Beast Men, something they took grave offense to, and they kept mining Radbourne for more information about where the experiments were taking place.

Upon finding out, they personally hunted down Radbourne as Stefan Scavarro (Starscream) initiated the Senate massacre to Radbourne’s labs, where he tried to fight them off only to finally find out the true extent of their abilities.

Badly-injured, his attempt at stopping them from freeing the captive Beast Men—-his “property” as he would yell at them—-ended up with him hurled into a genetic splicing pod (commissioned from a ‘Mesothulas’) which he accidentally activated.

The process twisted him into a Rat-Bat-human hybrid, and rather than kill him, Suraya decided to leave the option to the Beast Men he tortured for profit in what they saw as poetic justice.

After those who wanted vengeance were done with Radbourne, Suraya gave the  Beast Men the option of leaving free or coming with them to be a part of Morgan’s revolution which would ensure that they were never mistreated and ostracized by the larger world again.

Two of the Beast Men took up the offer; Bastien Saville (Buzzsaw) and Gan Go-eun (Glit).

When Morgan, confident in Suraya’s abilities asked them  to establish their own division focussed on spying and intel gathering, Suraya chose Ramiro, Lara, Ramsey, Friedel and Bastien to work alongside them.

While Suraya occasionally questions Morgan’s actions, two things they have never questioned are his dedication to his cause and the compassion he shows to those they care for, and it’s enough for them to consider themself a true Decepticon till the day his objectives are achieved.
