Chapter one

You woke up to the sound of crashing, slowly sitting up and rubbing the sleep from your eyes. The pink and orange skies of Alola seeping through your tattered curtains. You sighed, slipping out of bed and peering out the window.

It was a rare occasion for it not to be raining in Po town, of course it did happen, just not often. The sun was setting in the sky, and a few stars had started to peek through the darkening dome above. You went over to your vanity, blankly gazing at the figure through the mirror. You put your hand on your stomach, almost admiring how empty it was. You felt pretty when you were hollow inside. It made you feel light, of course after a while the emptiness was replaced with the pain of hunger, which was now starting to set in.

It had been a few months since you officially joined team skull. It certainly was an adjustment. The reason you hadn’t jumped up at the sound of crashing was because it happened so often. The grunts were damn good at breaking things, and it took a while for you to get used to it. Most of the grunts had no where else to go, including you. The shady house was your home, and the same could be said for plenty of other grunts. This was part of why you had your own room.

You weren’t like the other grunts. You didn’t like breaking things, felt bad for stealing, and overall didn’t really have a punk attitude. Often you were teased for this. Often times they called you ‘Softie’, and other crude things you didn’t like thinking about. You knew they were kidding around, teasing was kinda how they showed affection, but it didn’t always feel like it.

It was Plumera who first noticed when you weren’t taking the grunts comments lightly. With that, on top of the sleeping arrangements getting more and more cramped, you got your own room. And it so-happened to be 2 doors down from Guzma’s. Plumera viewed you as one of the more well behaved and trustworthy grunts. Although she cared about them all the same, she treated you a bit differently. Less like a little kid and more like your actual age, which was 18.

You remember after you were officially an adult, Guzma called you into his room. He gave you a long lecture on how ‘your an adult now, so act like it’. He didn’t care if you were breaking the law or being a menace, he just cared if you got caught. If you did, you were now responsible for whatever came next. He didn’t want the team suffering because of your own sloppiness. He did this lecture to every grunt who turned 18, but it felt like he was singling you out. And it didn’t feel great.

You admired Guzma, you always did. He was confident and cocky in a way that you could never be. He didn’t care what other people thought of him, and it showed. You wished you could be more like him, all the grunts did. When Plumera told him that your sleeping arrangement wasn’t with the other grunts, he didn’t seem to mind, which you were relieved.

Sometimes he’d pass you in the hallway as you were heading downstairs. “Don’t die.” He’d say, since the only way downstairs was from on top of the roof. It kinda became a little tradition whenever you saw each other in passing, even if you weren’t heading to the roof. It was comforting, and made you feel important, even if it was silly.

As you slipped your slides on, you reached down to grab your hoodie, throwing it over your team skull tank top. Wearing the normal female team skull uniform wasn’t the easiest when you were self conscious. You didn’t like having that much of your body on display. It was always so awkward when people asked what your scars were from. So; often you wore sweatpants and a hoodie. Although wearing the team skull uniform wasn’t mandatory, you felt bad if you weren’t matching the group. That’s why you had customized your normal black hoodie awhile ago.

It was almost the same style as Guzma’s jacket at first. You had spray painted a white team skull logo on the back, as well as white zigzags on the sleeves. You didn’t think he’d really mind, until he saw you wearing it for the first time…

He kept looking at you..

That made you feel really self conscious. You decided it would be best not to match his style, even if it made you feel more confident. So you threw it away and customized a new black hoodie, which is what you were wearing now. It had white x’s around the sleeves, like the tank tops did, and a zig zag around the waist. It was a big big for you, but you liked baggy clothes. They made you feel safe.

You walked out of your room, grabbing your wallet and phone on your way out. You hopped up onto the roof and headed downstairs, where you avoided most of the grunts. They did like you, but you weren’t really in the mood for talking. You quickly checked the kitchen, which was empty and ransacked, as usual. You probably should’ve come down around dinner, Plumes always had something ready for everyone to eat.

Sighing, you walked out the door and headed out of Po town, putting on your headphones to drown out your mind. It took a while of walking to get to the Malasada shop, which made the pain in your stomach only get worse. The sun had set by the time you arrived, meaning the shop would close soon. Luckily, you just made it. You paid for a box of about 6 Malasada’s, before heading back to Po-town.

You decided to walk back along the beach. You liked walking around at night, it was peaceful. No one was watching, and it felt like the world was yours. The night air always felt good. The high tide brushed over your ankles as you saw the walls of Po town slowly approaching from the distance. You debated weather you should sit on the beach and finish your snack, since you were practically starving. Someone approached you before you could finish your decision.

“Ey’ Grunt, yeah you, watcha doin out here?”

You recognized the booming voice almost immediately. It was Guzma. You turned around, box in hand. “Oh, it’s you. Watcha got there?” Guzma approached you, his Golisopod following close behind. You forgot how often he took his Pokémon out for a stretch here. Before you could respond, he immediately recognized the box. “Oh shit! Malasada’s?” He had a grin on his face as he almost ripped open the box. “Ya mind if I steal some?” You opened your mouth to speak, but he was already popping one into his mouth. “This is the good shit.” He said, the Malasada muffling his words.

“Ya weren’t plannin’ on eatin’ these all yourself, where ya?” He said in a joking tone.

You felt your heart sink. You wanted to disappear right there and then. Now he thought you were a fatass. And you felt like you were. “Who just downs a box of Malasadas?” You scolded yourself as you shoved the box into him. His eyes widened a bit and he almost dropped them. “Y-you can have em’, I’m not hungry anymore.” He didn’t even have time to react before you were already hurrying back to the Shady house.

You held back tears as you hustled to your room. You slipped inside and shut the door behind you. “God… what the hell is wrong with me?” You mumbled to yourself as you face planted onto your bed. You pushed back all your negative thoughts and stomach pains as you started to drift off to sleep, when you jolted back awake when you heard a knock at your door.

You opened your door halfway, hoping no one was there despite knowing there was. As your eyes adjusted to the dim light of the hallway, you saw who was standing there. It was Guzma.

“You uh, left this behind.” He held up the box of Malasada’s from awhile ago. By now it was dented and creased. “Felt kinda bad takin’ em all for myself, since ya bought em’ and all.” He lifted the box for you to take. “I’m not hungry.” You said blankly, hoping he’d leave. He raised an eyebrow. “Look, I ain’t stupid. I know you didn’t come down to eat earlier today, and I ain’t gonna be responsible for your dead ass. Now take it.” He pushed the box into you and let go, forcing your reflexes to catch it. “Kept em warm for ya’, so you better eat em before they get cold and gross. You’re welcome.” He said in a rough voice, but you could tell he was being genuine. He walked off to his room, stopping at the sound of your voice.

“Thanks.”

Oh God it's more Headcanons

To prepare for XC3 (because the DLC drops at like 9pm for some reason) I wrote more headcanons, mainly because I didn't have a specific character in mind to drabble about.

Sonia my beloved. God, Galar has so many great characters and yet I just don’t have the time to write for all of them… even those with banger designs. Anyways, Sonia. Where to even start with her.

Her hair is a mess. Humidity is her worst enemy. She spends dozens of minutes a day attempting to detangle it when the weather goes to shit. She would be forever indebted to you if you brushed her hair for her. Please just be careful, she will complain if you tug too hard.

Also be careful if you sleep next to her at night, because you very well may end up choking on her hair. Even just cuddling is risky business. You are never safe, not even if you are the little spoon. But it’s worth it because Sonia runs very warm, so it’s always comfy to hold her or rest in her arms.

Speaking of hair, she wants to style yours. Doesn’t matter what kind of hair you’ve got, she’ll find a way. Straight or curly or coils or braids or what have you, she will play with it. Doesn’t matter how long it is either. If you ask for a specific style, she’ll do it, but at some point she will weave little hearts into it to match her own. Don’t ask how she does it, it’s a secret.

Anyways, enough about that. I am absolutely obsessed with the idea of a kid rocking up to get their first pokemon from the Professor and her wife and their adopted son assistant. She’s just… so powerful I love her so much.

Hop loves you. He ships you so hard with Sonia it’s unreal. He is Galar’s best wingman and will do everything in his power to get you two alone together. You guys could literally be married already and he would still be trying to set you guys up. And Leon is no different. Sonia’s his best friend and she talks about you all the time. This guy knows how much Sonia loves you and wants nothing more than for you two to be happy together. Sometimes a family is just a professor, her wife, their assistant, and his brother.

Not enough content for Big Sis Plumeria. She’s gotta take care of basically all Team Skull because they would never get anything done without her around, so she’d be immensely grateful if you either helped corral them or help her relax after constantly chasing after them.

She’s very much an “asshole to the world, sweetheart to her girl” type of girlfriend, mixed in with some tough love. She would never raise her voice at you or seriously insult you, something she does often with the grunts. The most she’ll do is mildly insult you for doing something stupid (as in she would call you an “idiot” or something along those lines), but it’s always evident that she’s more concerned than upset.

As long as you're her girl, no one is going to mess with you. Especially if you have a storied history. Asshole ex? Shitty family members? Straight up enemies? You don’t have to worry about those people anymore.

Oh also all of the Team Skull grunts look up to you and would literally die for you. You’re Big Sis Two, their third favorite person. Also, if anything happened to you on their watch, they would have to face Plumeria’s wrath, which might as well be worse then Guzma’s

Slightly older contest-star Shauna who, despite being pretty girl-crazy, attempts to navigate her first serious relationship. I realize that I like Shauna more than most people, but hear me out.

When she went on a journey through Kalos with her friends, like stated above, she was completely girl-crazy. Literally every girl she met was the absolute prettiest woman she had ever seen (especially Diantha). But she never ended up getting into a relationship, despite wishing otherwise.

When she meets you, she is absolutely smitten. When you’re just friends, she dreams about you every waking minute. She really, really wants to hold your hand and kiss you and go on cute little dates to restaurants and picnics and do contests together and go shopping together and and everything else girlfriends do. She is obsessed.

But once you start dating her, she’s a mess. She has all these things she wants to do with you, but she doesn’t know how to go about doing any of them, so sometimes she comes off as a little awkward in the most endearing way possible. She’s a little clumsy and hesitant when initiating affection, but every little thing you do together makes her so happy. It’s got the energy of a cute high school romance, just two dumbasses in love with each other.

Also she’s super supportive of you. Like Marnie, she is your personal cheerleader. She’ll bring up your achievements to everyone she comes across because she needs everyone to know how great you are and how lucky she is to be dating you. Please be supportive of her in return, she would actually ascend to heaven if she saw you in the audience of one of her contests.

Zisu… big woman. I don’t even have words to describe this absolute unit of a woman. She is far too powerful to fully put into words. Her strength is seemingly unending. She canonically trains with pokemon with her bare hands and could absolutely fuck all of them up.

She can bench press your ass, no matter your size or stature. She’ll carry you anywhere you want whenever you want, she’ll get anything you need off of the top shelf, she will lift up anything you need for whatever reason, and she will give you a little kiss on the forehead because she loves you very much.

If you’re afraid of Pokemon (which is pretty likely given the time period), she will do whatever it takes to help you get over your fears. Zisu is all the protection you need in Hisui. No Pokemon will ever get past her. But she would also like to help you get more comfortable with them, if nothing more than for her peace of mind. She can’t be there all the time, given her position in Team Galaxy.

But if you have a strong team, she would love to train with you. If you managed to beat her, she would love you forever. She’s hella strong, so she finds you being stronger than her in one aspect incredibly attractive. And if you managed to beat her in hand to hand combat? She would never recover.

I think Larry is objectively the funniest gym leader, but I whole-heartedly believe Iono is right behind him. I just think she is a funny little guy with an absolutely banger design.

As the most popular streamer in Paldea (I think), people across the region are going to know that you're dating. There is nothing you can do to avoid it. And Iono doesn’t want to hide your relationship. She wants to show you off.

Showing up on stream at least a few times is a mandatory part of dating her. Both Iono and chat love when you’re there. Sometimes Iono will warn you about what she’s planning beforehand, but other times she’ll leave you in the dark. Don’t worry, though, she won’t ever do anything that will make you uncomfortable.

More importantly, when dating Iono, you get to see the normal her, without the energetic streamer persona. Not to say that she’s completely different on stream, she just amps everything up for the camera. Off camera, she just wants to lay down with you and chill out. Let her complain about the weird people in her chat while you hold her close, she desperately needs it.

Outside of that, this girl loves to gossip. Tell her all about the drama you're dealing with or about the people you just don’t like, she eats that shit up. Likewise, she’ll also “spill the tea” as the kids say. She’s got a lot of people and things to tell you about, both big and small. Just promise to not blab to others about those she complains about. She already has to deal with too much weird shit to have time to deal with additional drama from other people.

Flannery is, like, an og waifu, or something like that. Anyways I like her because her design is sick and so is her gym aesthetic (at least in oras). Girlypop is confident in her abilities but she also only has a vague idea of what she’s doing and is just trying her best.

Being a rookie gym leader is hard, even if she is highly skilled. More importantly, it’s stressful. Thankfully, Lavaridge has a hot spring, giving her a perfect way to relax at the end of the day, and she is borderline desperate for you to join her. Listen, she just radiates disaster lesbian. Being in your presence helps her unwind as is, so pairing you up with the hotspring makes her melt.

She is very dedicated to her training and would love it if you were to join her sometime. Be warned, it gets uncomfortably hot and you will most likely regret it almost immediately, so be prepared. She doesn’t ask you to join her because she doesn’t want you to accidentally strain yourself due to how rigorous it gets, but she’d let you if you asked (after warning you of how difficult it would be, of course).

She seems like someone that would enjoy hiking. Conveniently, there is a volcano right nearby to track up. Flannery desperately wants you to come with her because it would give her a chance to share something she loves with someone she loves. Don’t worry about getting tired, she will carry you up the remainder of the track, no sweat. When you make it to the top (or just find a clearing to rest at), you get to gaze at the beautiful scenery with her.

Okay I now realize that I didn’t do much outside of the first point to show how much of a disaster she is but she just like… is. I cannot explain it, that is just the vibe she has. So even if she seems confident and held together in your presence, she is screaming in her head because you’re so pretty and she loves you AAAAA.

Oh shit I forgot about Tymeand Ryme for the gilf section of the last headcanon post fuck. Uhhhhh, I like them in the same way as the other gilfs in that they’re cool but ultimately they are funny little grandmas, so here comes your grandma posting.

Like the others, Tyme would totally bake you cookies and while eating them would help you do math. I don’t care if you’re not taking some kind of math class or if you're a student at all, she is going to help you do math. Someone has to teach you how to do your taxes, right? If that is not enough to entice you, then perhaps you would like to see her very cool rock collection, because she would totally have one, and a big one at that. Unrelated, but if you give her any kind of rock she could identify it immediately and would also cherish it dearly.

Ryme is the cool grandma. She doesn’t have time to bake cookies (she isn’t very good at it), but she makes up for it in other ways. You want to see a band or artist live? Just tell her, she’ll find a way to get you to that concert. She’d also let you get away with a lot of things, letting you off easy where others would be upset. Like, if you got into a fight with someone, she would lightly scold you then immediately ask if you won. She’d be really proud if you did and would comfort you if you didn’t. Also teaches you how to rap, but that much should be obvious.

Hopefully this is the last of the grandma posting because if I do this again it means I forgot someone else and I don’t think I did. I guess if there’s one major appeal to the gilfs it’s the domesticity of them? Like, you get the ideal of living your life alongside one another for such a long time, which is the dream, really. Girl I don’t know I’m gonna get back to regular unhinged scenarios sorry about this.

One professor was not enough for one post apparently because I wanna talk about Professor Juniper, the original hot professor. Ever the reliable woman, she will do all she can to lend a hand should you need it, but in return you need to put up with her deciding to do things before confirming with the other people involved beforehand.

Unlike most professors, Juniper has another professor to rely on, that being the other Juniper, so she does have a bit more free time on her hands. That being said, she is often doing things for other people, so she is pretty much as busy as the others. But because she’s just helping out other people and not completing research, she is definitely more accessible. Not going to say that she would hold off on helping someone to come help you if you were to need it, but she would do that (assuming that what she was doing before wasn’t urgent).

She loves to travel around the region, and would love it if you joined her. It’s not really a date, but it’s good quality time. Most of it is taken up by her rambling about the Pokemon that can be found in the area. She would also love it if you lent her a hand in her research. It’s a fun and cute little bonding activity, and it means you can spend more time together afterwards.

Like Sonia, the idea of rocking up to a lab only to be met by the professor and her loving wife is a very powerful one, but Sonia remains more powerful. After all, Juniper doesn’t usually give kids their starters in person, nor does she have an assistant whom she and her wife can semi-adopt.

As a side note, I considered using her first name because she has one, but I don’t know if that is common knowledge. It pops up at the very beginning of B2W2, but I didn’t realize it was there until, like, two days ago.

Oh my God I forgot about Professor Magnolia because she isn’t even on my list of characters. I am so upset. And no I’m not going to fix this my moving her up to be with Tyme and Ryme because I need it to be known that I fucked this up here’s your grandma posting again and if I mess this up for a fourth time I’m going to be so upset with myself.

Magnolia is just a chill grandma. She always has cookies in her kitchen to give to Sonia. I’m pretty sure they live together so it’s not like she’s visiting her, but she feels that her granddaughter should always have access to finely made cookies. If you were to come over, she would break them out along with tea and have a surprisingly intellectual conversation. She may have given the professor title to Sonia, but she continues to delve into research, if nothing to fulfill her own self-interest.

These visits are especially interesting if you were, say, dating Sonia. She would give you all kinds of stories from when she was growing up. They aren’t particularly embarrassing, per say, but they usually embarrass Sonia anyways. She’s happy that her granddaughter has found both a path in life and someone to spend it with. In general, she would be interested in you as a person. She wants to have a good relationship with her future granddaughter-in-law, after all!

I swear to God if I forget another grandma (besides Cogita because I already write about her plenty) I’m going to lose it.

Let’s end this one with Misty. She’s normally sweet and bright, but she has a tendency to get snappy when annoyed, which tends to leave a greater impression on people than her regular nature since she easily gets frustrated.

Like all gym leaders, she has lots of responsibilities and is busy and also has an affinity for the type she uses. This is especially true for her since most of her designs are just swimsuits (good for you girlie). She will take you on walks all over Cerulean, as well as swimming in the water surrounding it. It’s her happy place, and she gets really annoyed when people interrupt the tranquil moment.

Sorry to say that it usually falls to you to keep her temper down in those situations. Remind her that it’s probably just a challenger looking to continue their journey and that you’ll get to continue your little date when she’s done. She’s still going to be annoyed, but it’s hard for her to remain bitter when she knows she gets to spend more time with you soon.

At some point, she wants to leave Cerulean and its gym for a while in order to go on a journey of her own. When she does, she wants you to come with her. Nothing sounds better to her than getting lost (metaphorically, she can’t stand actually getting lost) in nature with you by her side. Hopefully you don’t have something that could fry her bike because that would be pretty unfortunate.

I would say her sisters are supportive but they aren’t really there enough to know much about you. Sorry Misty. It’s a shame that they’ve been on the same cruise for twenty years. Someone should really check in with them.

Hello anon, you asked a very normal question two months ago, and now I’m going to give a very deranged, not normal, ‘I have been dealing with the horrors of USUM for what feels like my entire life’ answer. / lighthearted.

LET ME START THIS OUT WITH: I love all of the characters involved, I am loudly and obnoxiously a fan of both sides in Pokémon, however:

The amount of criticism I have for the whole RR arc plays directly into the problems I have with the way that Lusamine’s character was assassinated in USUM. Beginning with the way that Lusamine was completely defanged and dethroned from being one of the most compelling antagonists in all of Pokémon, only to become the most mild, unappealing, borderline irritating presence in the entirety of Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon. It completely ruined all of the character growth that Lillie and Gladion experienced in the initial two games, and it also made the dynamic between Lusamine and Guzma a lot less compelling.

The fact that they trashed the entire Nihilego arc and ruined the entire Aether family story for the sake of shoehorning Necrozma into the plot, is something I will never, ever be over, and I believe that the decline in Pokémon antagonists began with Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon.

Anyways. They somehow make it worse with the entirety of the Rainbow Rocket plot. They further make Lusamine less remarkable and turn her into a damsel in distress, all for the sake of the nostalgia gauntlet that was the whole RR post-game. Honestly, in my opinion, there was no reason for that to happen at the Aether Foundation. You mean to tell me, that a group of megalomaniac men who all were WINNERS in their respective timelines, all decided that they didn’t have good enough resources for— whatever the fuck they wanted to continue doing, and had to go and storm Aether? And they managed to that simply by— having Faba hand over the keys.

It makes me want to throw my head through an entire wall and eat my own shoe.

I truly refuse to believe that the entirety of Aether would just surrender in a situation like that. It just made all of those characters look ridiculous. I’m so bitter and annoyed by it.

I’m also especially annoyed, because it isn’t as if Sun & Moon Lusamine and Aether as a whole were just standard, run-of-the-mill antagonists, this was a MAJOR organization that rivaled the other science-heavy syndicates in the games. They make it way too abundantly clear that Lusamine is almost like the opposite side of the coin to Giovanni. Aether made contact with Ultra Space. Aether captured Ultra Beasts AND designed the Beast Ball specifically to hold those beasts. Aether had the technology and brilliance to conduct the Type: Full & Beast Killer projects in order to create Type: Null and Silvally. The RKS System is an attempt to replicate ARCEUS. Aether didn’t even need to get Silph Co to work with them in order to accomplish this— Lusamine and Aether funded this on their own. And while the Beast Ball and Silvally aren’t exactly as impressive as the Master Ball and Mewtwo on paper, those are still major accomplishments that the majority of the world cannot claim.

They could had done something far more compelling and given respect to Lusamine’s character if they treated her and Aether as a symbolic competitor to Rocket. It would had spoken volumes to both organizations if there was an actual fight put up in order for Rainbow Rocket’s siege to be successful, because I know damn well my lady here wouldn’t just let a bunch of men roll up to the Aether Paradise and take it. She has UB’s for fuck’s sake.

I also still refuse to believe that somebody like Lysandre would willingly work alongside Giovanni, but, that’s a different rant for a different day. Love all these characters, but that whole entire plot was executed poorly.

And don’t even get me started on how it got even W O R S E in PokeMas. “Oh wow who could had leaked this sensitive information wow nobody in the foundation could had done that—“ Lusamine said as Faba was literally standing right there, the same Faba who had already done the same bullshit.

I hate it here. Lusamine is my OC now.

The TL;DR version: It could’ve been better.

Honestly, it's how many skills she's picked up while she was in Hisui. Since technology was limited back then, she had to make do. So, she just started...making things and learning new skills. Woodcarving, blacksmithing, crafting, knitting, even engineering! She's always been very good with her hands, but once she was back and I got used to how things changed, I just started...staring at her in awe at all the things she could make with her hands. I'm pretty okay myself. I can weave things and such, but finer details like carving are a little tricky for me, so I can't help but admire her for that.

🐬: What’s the coolest thing that (S/I) has ever done?

Someone's already asked me this, but I'll pick another one since you're so curious.

Hmmm...well, there was that one time we visited Alola so that we could meet Guzma. Unfortunately, trouble still managed to follow us there even though it was supposed to be a vacation, but then we had to deal with a surprise alien invasion and the woman responsible - who turned out to be Rachel's distant cousin or something, so that was a surprise - decided to go into an Ultra Wormhole. Guzma followed after her and almost got eaten by a Nihilego and Clue wasn't going to just leave him in there, even though he was super pissed at Guzma for working with Lusamine.

But Rachel ran in there without even hesitating, pulled out the knife she got made from Black Augurite from one of the nobles in Hisui as a gift and then stabbed it so that it would let go of him! I mean, she ran in there and shredded it so that she could save him even if she was angry at him, too.

Definitely one of the coolest things she's done...but, it's also one of my favourite qualities about her. She'll still help people even if she's mad at them...I've come to really admire that about her.

🔵: If you were face painting and (S/I) asked you to just give them anything, what would you paint?

Teehee! I wouldn't have thought of face painting before, but I'll have to try that sometime! Seems like the kind of thing she would like and it's just another excuse for me to admire her pretty face. I know that she felt really insecure about all the scars she got after coming back from Hisui, but it just...made me realize in that moment how much the people there with her cared about her that they made sure she survived. That they made sure she could come back to us...

Whoops! So-o-orry! Got a little distracted, there! Anyways, if she asked me to give her anything, I think I would paint little stars and constellations on her face. Maybe even figure out a way to make the big scar across her face look like an aurora. Sort of my way of showing her what I see when I look at her - in a sort of poetic symbolic way. She loves that kind of thing.

The other night I was thinking about whether or not Penny should qualify as an evil team leader (the answer was “objectively, no, seeing as how she and Team Star don’t do anything even remotely immoral, but I’m counting her as one anyways because we deserve our first terminally online transgender teenager evil team leader”) and it made me come up with a really funny AU.

AU where Team Rainbow Rocket touches down in Paldea and when the Paldean government catches wind of it they decide to send Penny, “infamous leader of Team Star” to infiltrate their ranks and figure out what it is they’re planning.

She, of course, would be pretending Team Star is muuuch eviler than it actually is in reality. And to her shock (if only for the comedy of the AU), Rainbow Rocket would fall for it. Something-something Giovanni knows better than to underestimate children after almost having his ass whooped by a ten year old.

Initially, Penny would only be doing this because she still owes Geeta a favor for “stealing an incomprehensible amount of money,” but as she got deeper into it she’d realize she’s actually having a blast trolling these old men.

Though, since it’s my AU and I make the rules, she’d be infiltrating an expanded version of Rainbow Rocket. Perhaps they’ve gotten new recruits since USUM. The team would of course have the original core members: Giovanni, the inter-dimensional crime boss, Archie, who flooded the world, Maxie, who created an apocalyptic drought, Cyrus, who recreated the world in his image, and Ghetsis, who killed N and then used his dragon to rule over Unova with an iron fist, but it would also have some extras.

(EDIT: DID I SERIOUSLY FORGET LYSANDRE? HE’S THERE TOO)

These extras would be a successful version of Archer: Giovanni’s right hand man, a version of Colress from a world where Ghetsis successfully destroyed Unova with Kyurem but was then killed by it, leaving him in charge in his place, a Lusamine who flooded the world with ultra beasts and is high on neurotoxins at all time, a Guzma who… idk, strongarmed his way into becoming a tyrannical Kahuna?, a regretful Rose from a world where Eternatus destroyed Galar, and Volo, who also managed to kill God a la Cyrus and rewrite his version of reality.

I also think it would be funny if Marnie were there and ALSO a spy. I know Piers is probably more of a leader to Team Yell than she is but I don’t like him so she gets the honor. Maybe she and Penny don’t even know the other is also an infiltrator at first and are both like “…they have an ACTUALLY evil sixteen year old here? god damn”

Cue she and Penny getting caught up in chaos and evil schemes. But mostly chaos. Most of these fumbling idiots just remind Marnie of her well meaning but stupid fans back home. Penny shows these mob bosses anime because she’s upset they haven’t seen Evangelion. Someone has to show Volo how to use the computer. Giovanni asks Marnie and Penny for tips on connecting with his teenage son who, and I quote, “thinks he’s cringe.”

…Penny is starting to wonder if maybe these guys aren’t as big of a threat as they and the government seem to think they are.

at Con Alt Delete last year there was someone in full comic Mysterio cosplay running an artist alley booth. The fishbowl didn't have anything visible inside. It was opaque and had a frosted look to it. This was before I got into Spiderman and I knew I recognized the chara from somewhere and it definitely wasn't Doc Scratch but I knew I wouldve felt stupid hearing the answer if I asked, so I didn't. But like. god damn how do you SEE through frosted glass let alone RUN A WHOLE ARTIST ALLEY BOOTH BY YOURSELF. Mysterio cosplayers are so talented.

If there was ever a possibility of me seeing a Mysterio cosplayer at any conventions near me, I would maybe consider going to one again. Unfortunately, despite the size of Texas, there's like.. so little interest in stuff that isn't Star Wars or Star Trek or Batman/Joker specifically. Good luck finding cosplays of other characters here.

I was lucky I even saw 1 Guzma a few years back when I cosplayed as a Team Skull Grunt (still a favorite cosplay I made). :( I would so love to see some cool Mysterio and Doc Ock cosplays n stuff here. You are so lucky!

And running a whole artist alley booth?! Weirdly in character and very fitting! The character is nothing if not an artist. Lol

TO ANSWER YOUR QUESTION ABOUT THE FROSTED GLASS THO:

Cospalyers are wild. There's actually some really cool methods to making a one-way mirrored mask/visor for cosplay purposes. I totally recommend looking up some videos and tutorials about it!

There's LOTS of videos that exist for Mysterio cosplays that will show and tell the process of how the person went about making their helmet. You have ones that light up, some that are papier-mache with cardboard or string & glue, some stuffed with cotton balls to simulate the look of smoke, and some that are just a large plastic sphere with some sort of breathing/air circulation mechanics.

It doesn't even matter if it's Mysterio specifically because you can find tutorials on making masks and visors that you can see through, but others can't, or at least others can't see into it easily. So you can probably apply that on a larger scale to the Mysterio cosplay.

Or a smaller scale depending on the source and what you're going for with the cosplay, specifically since Mysterio has had different effects applied to his helmet in the comics. Some where you can see something inside it. Like a slight look of a face or some green silhouette (could probably use a morph suit mask with that one!)

Even if you don't cosplay, it's still super fascinating and fun to see people's processes in crafting their costumes! Seeing their trials and errors until something worked, and even seeing their improvements from older versions of their costumes or accessories because they've been doing it for several years and have made better and better versions of the first costume!

It's just really cool in general!

So how’d all of you come to be protectors? Were you always good or?

I think I will answer this question, as I'm sure asking them all to respond would take a while, make this longer then needed and several of them would be rather uncomfortable with answering themselves. Also I will not use my usual purple, as it will just break anyway with how much I need to type.

Giovanni and Arianna were the first members I brought into the Taskforce, I had personally went into the prison they were in and asked to talk to them in private. I intended to bring them out with the excuse of a community service program that I was developing.

When I went in, I will be clear and honest, I had thought I would need to bribe them into working for me. My younger self was very prepared to bargain and threaten them in with being able to pull them out of prison, fully believing that they were Pokemon abusers and criminals. But I was desperate for reach, and I had a 'bargaining chip' to get then to listen.

But, I found out quickly that would not be necessary. I found out the truth of their situation and brought them in by telling them that they could see their child again, once things calm down for them of course... that was my 'bargaining chip' as I had heard that Silver was actually rather well taken care of by them.

This universe is odd with them, as they were always good people, but in terrible situations and blind to their environment.

Maxie and Archie were the next ones, I had approached them openly and honestly a few years after the Hoenn incident, and they were very eager to have the resources and ability to help those outside their home region to say the least.

They would tell you themselves that they were both idiots for summoning Groudon and Kyogre, had suffered greatly from both incidents. They have good hearts that were originally in the wrong places. They are eaten by guilt every day.

Cyrus... is a interesting case.

I had found him in the Distortion world, as I was originally the one who was checking in on it constantly, he had not changed his world view from when I talked to him, but he was... alright with helping me and the Taskforce with information on the Distortion world.

I think over time with interacting with all of us, he has come to feel regret with how he acted in the past, hurting many people and Pokemon for his rigid goals. He still prefers the Distortion world with living, as it has changed him too greatly for him to comfortably live here now.

He thinks that Team Galactic was quite the mistake, I'm pretty sure all of them hold the belief that their teams were mistakes...

N... N is a sweetheart. He found out about the Taskforce through his Shadow Triad and came to the door asking to join... which of course I said yes.

They were purely misguided when it comes to his past, Ghetsis having manipulated him... I am glad that man is gone.

Guzma and his group also came to me, he was very... insistent on joining and pushed themselves into the same role as the Rocket Division.

I wouldn't call him or the others bad guys, they were more punkish than anything. But also... the Ultra Beasts... hh.

And last but, not least. Cassiopeia. She-... literally hacked into our systems, told us we needed an upgrade, that she could give it to us, and that she would like to join. Cassiopeia made quite the first impression for a lot of our members. Ha.

Team Star I would put under a similar category as Team Skull, so... well. Other than hacking the Paldain government pretty much, she hasn't done much wrong.

So far, that is all the Division Leaders. If you were to ask all the individual members of the Taskforce, you... would get a lot of different backstories and backgrounds.

... we have come so far, done so much for just this dimension. I would love to keep helping those in this universe and many more to come.

Please do not be scared to come to us, we will help as best we can.

Ok I'm sorry for so many but would it be possible to get traveling headcanons for nessa, guzma, and ryuki?

no need to apologize lmao, I run this blog exactly bc I wanna write for people!!

Nessa:

Your first impression of Nessa had been wrong. You’d heard she was a model, and then you’d seen some of her photoshoots and commercials, so you had assumed she was prissy and not up for a rough-and-tumble adventure. Then you had mentioned you were traveling to Circhester next, and she’d asked if she could come with you; you had only agreed because you wondered how a model would handle the Wild Area.

She handled it far better than you could. Nessa’s long legs carried her through the tall grass as if she was floating; you, on the other hand, were constantly being tripped up by grass knots, weighed down by the bags on your back. Nessa would turn back to check on you and you’d just smile, assuring her you were fine— she was so confident in herself, you felt bad for ever doubting her.

One of Nessa’s more obscure talents is how easily she reads the weather. You had been relying on your Rotom phone and its little news pop-ups; Nessa, though, was able to just glance toward the sky and tell you it would be raining tomorrow, or the wind was about to pick up so you’d better be careful with your tent. She’s not really the type to talk much about herself, but she does mention that it’s a skill from living near the water— maybe she could teach you sometime too.

Guzma:

Guzma was difficult to travel with, and you’d expected as much. Constantly charging into battles despite being exhausted, wanting to argue with every suggestion you made— but he’d promised to escort you from Po Town back to Malie Garden, and he had every intention of keeping that promise. Even though you were butting heads every few minutes about which path through Route 17 would be the quickest.

Impulsive as always, Guzma was ill-prepared for his escort mission; you’d been traveling long enough, your bag full of food and supplies. Guzma simply had whatever was in his pockets. He walked several steps ahead of you, his Golisopod ahead of you both and easily cutting a path through the thick foilage. You would glance up at your not-quite-valiant escort only to find him watching you from the corner of his eye— when your gaze met his, Guzma’s face would flush bright red and he’d turn around with a scowl, only to peek back at you again. After so many echoes of “You sure you ain’t hungry?” or “I bet you ain’t used to walkin’ like this,” you finally took the hint. Time to set up camp.

Although he tried to act tough, Guzma’s facade would slip just enough for you to file new information away in your mind. Usually he wasn’t much for cooking; the moment your campfire was blazing, though, he was setting up the metal dishes you’d pulled out, tearing berries apart with his hands, tossing some of them into the pot and others to the pokemon. He’d let his Surskit bury itself in his hair as he worked, his movements sloppy but confident— but when he realized you were watching, he would inevitably fumble. If you were lucky enough— if he was nervous enough— he might talk too much and tell you about himself.

Ryuki:

Honestly, what else were you expecting from a trip with an entertainer? The biggest surprise was the fact that he’d chosen you. Ryuki had suddenly declared his intention to journey until inspiration struck him, and he’d be needing an assistant to carry his things and buy his dinner— and, (un)fortunately, you’d been the first person he laid eyes on.

And that’s how you ended up in the midst of Lush Jungle for the first time since your island trials. You weren’t quite struggling under the weight of Ryuki’s luggage; his bags were more clunky than anything, obscuring your vision and making you glad his gaudy outfit was so easy to spot amidst the sea of green. When you’d first met the rock star, you figured he was shallow, but he paid well; it was times like this, though, that you occasionally realized there was something else underneath. When you stumbled and dropped one of his cases, Ryuki was quick to reach out, helping you steady yourself before he cared about his luggage in the mud.

He was a night person, you learned that too. Even as the sun faded out and left you plunging blindly through the darkness, he showed no signs of exhaustion— if anything, he seemed thrilled to bring out his Turtonator and keep trudging along in its emberlight. But Ryuki was also observant; he noticed you slowing down behind him. He was the one to stop first, kicking aside debris on the ground until you had room to spread your sleeping bag, and he was the one to scrounge up dinner as you rested, yet again relying on Turtonator’s flames to roast it to perfection. When it was just the two of you, Ryuki wasn’t putting on an act.

Hahaha, I don’t blame you! XD I wasn’t sure either until I looked at the model, honestly. And really? That kind of body type is probably the rarest to come out of Japanese media (or media in general I suppose), so I don’t think ANYBODY expects it...

The only reason I’m willing to believe that was their intention is because... they’ve obviously been trying hard to be more diverse in their body types lately, you can see that in the game itself in the NPCs, props to them! Also... Arezu exists in Arceus and she’s undeniably a rare build. XD Giacomo would be the male equivalent, I’d guess... also, when you take his coat layer off and stand him next to any other thin male character, his waist doesn’t taper in (like say... the male grunts or Atticus). Which could be the vest, but at the same time, it doesn’t look or behave like the vests on the definitely thin male characters. They’ve also... rigged up his coat in multiple places =T So that it will curve around that part. And they have done so in many of the animations. You can also see it in most of the “held” shots where his pose is held for a while (opening a battle, seeing him for the first time, defeating him in battle). So I feel like they wanted it to be known. Otherwise it’s a whole lot of coincidence? I dunno, I could be wrong. XD That said, Rose also exists!

I do feel guilty when people think that I came up with it though XD;; No, it’s based on the game, promise, give GameFreak their dues! Not that people will see the shots of the model since tumblr decided not to put that post in tags XD Thanks, tumblr. Let the people see Giacomo!

And hahaha yes Arven! XD He actually doesn’t have a face there because he was imported before the python script could handle their faces =D;;; There’s actually Rika (faceless) and Larry to the side of Arven, but I cropped them out to take a screenshot. I figured I’d include Arven so people could see how tall he is compared =) He’s my bestie’s favourite, so he gets special treatment. He comes out by that scale as 5′06″ (same as Rika) and Atticus at 5′08″

Hahaha, no worries! XD;; I figured I’d elaborate anyway, just in case ¦D I have no reason to hide techniques from anybody... maybe somebody might know how to get the face rigs working, that’d be incredible! I’m no expert with 3D models by far... I’m far better at ripping 2D spritework!

And don’t worry!! You can send anon or not, it really doesn’t matter. =) Just receiving asks at all is a big feel-good moment for me XD And despite what José said to Giacomo... I think his outfit DOES work in his favour and people think he’s slender, hahaha! XD I feel like that was true on the ask blog too... Hopefully his answer makes sense now though. At least for the “canon” I use on that blog. He’s not actually in denial!

Pokémon Favourites!

FIRST GAME: Pokémon Yellow version was my first; I got it as a gift for completing kindergarten. My reading was still a little shaky, and I didn't understand that I had to click "save game" whenever I turned my Gameboy Color off. So, I perpetually restarted the game for a week until my dad helped me figure it out. Yellow version is how my dad and I first REALLY bonded, actually, because he'd take me around to his job a lot (busy man) and I'd sit behind his desk and ask him for help with reading the big words.

FAVOURITE SPINOFF GAME: A tie between Pokémon Stadium for the N64 and Pokémon Colloseum. Stadium is how I bonded with my little sister; we played the mini games like CRAZY when dad rented it for us from Family Video. Run Rattata Run was our favorite. And my dad actually would battle me on Stadium; his favorite Pokémon were Dugtrio and Pidgeot, and he loved to do dramatic character voices for the gym leaders, especially Giovanni. Colloseum was my first experience with a more gritty, dark video game plot line, and was the first Pokémon game I helped my baby brother complete. Orre is just. So good.

FAVOURITE EVIL TEAM: It's a tie between Team Rocket and Team Magma. Rocket, because I'm a filthy millennial and will never NOT love them. Magma for no other reason than the fact that my favorite color is red, and the rivalry between Magma and Aqua is so funny. I'm in a competitive Pokémon clan that got formed back in 2016 when I was super into the Smogon scene; there was a series of clan battles called "turf wars" where we played across a region map, and all the clans were based on the different teams. Me and Team Magma won several seasons in a row, and we've remained lifelong friends even though that larger competitive group no longer meets up.

FAVOURITE TEAM LEADER: GUZMA. I love my boy so much. He completely blew Maxie out of the water the moment I laid eyes on him. He is just so fun, so complex, and even though I write Giacomo now, Guzma will always have a place in my dumb little heart. It's ya boy!

FAVOURITE STARTER: Squirtle. This is a Squirtle Squad support blog.

FAVOURITE BOX LEGENDARY: Groudon. I fucking LOVE Groudon.

FAVOURITE POKEMON: /to the cadence of the cut screen from Pikachu's vacation: Mag. . . Nemite. . . Mag. . . Nemite. . .MAG-NE-MITE!

FAVOURITE PROFESSOR: Sada is my new favorite. She became the favorite as soon as she was revealed. Women can do ANYTHING!!!!

FAVOURITE RIVAL: Green & Silver. No you will not make me pick between the two of them. Green because he is so iconic, and Silver because his music in GSC is fucking great; also, the hilarious Pokémon Vietnames Crystal translation that was played through by Delicious Cinnamon is one of my favorite things EVER. They called him Chedr. His lines were great. Also. . . . Was I the only one who accidentally named Silver just ??? (BECAUSE HIS NAME POPPED UP AS ??? IN THE FIRST BATTLE AND I JUST COPIED THAT WHEN ASKED) when they first played gen 2 as a kid??????? Or was I just dumb????

FAVOURITE CHAMPION: Steven Stone's champion battle was VERY memorable for me.

FAVOURITE CHARACTER (if not already covered): Emmet and Ingo. No you will not separate them for this answer, they are a package deal in my brain. I was there for the height of Black and White hype and the dawn of Submas. It was magical. I love my silly train men.

FAVOURITE STORY: Black/White. Followed closely by Sun/Moon and Emerald.

FAVOURITE MUSIC: ALL of the music from Gen 5. Loved the Unovan Elite Four theme. N's theme. GHETSIS'S THEME STILL GIVES ME CHILLS. I also fucking love the Cipher Admin battle music from Pokémon Colloseum. Also, controversial kick, Miror B's theme in Colloseum was better than Gale of Darkness's choice. And of course Guzma's battle music is awesome, AND the Team Star Leader ost.

FAVOURITE REGION OVERALL: If you can't tell, I love Unova. Runner up is Johto; idc what people say, nothing will ever replicate the joy and wonder of playing through Johto for the first time RIGHT after the height of PokeMania in the 90's and early 00's. It was . . . Magical.
