Hero City Rollers is so fascinating to research and I definitely recommend checking out their Instagram, Facebook, and website!

They were sued in 2017 by ALW and his team, so you won't find much about their StEx productions (RIP illegal HCR StEx 1996-2013)

However, if you'd like to know some history, please let me know!

HCR has also written their own original shows, one of these being 2019's Race Cars! (My pfp is one of the characters!) I'm very into this show and love it so much-

Starlight Glimmer couldn’t deny it any longer, it was branded into her daughter’s flank and everything. Prophecy had a gift, a wealth of potential that Starlight had only seen in one pony before her. It was a great power but also a great responsibility, and Starlight wanted to help her nurture it in the safest way possible. And let her know where her gift came from.

Aura Twinkle had to face the inevitable. The doctors told her there was nothing she could do now, she’d made her choices and now she was facing the consequences. She didn’t regret it, she got to help so many ponies and she’d do it all again. But she did regret leaving her family behind, leaving her daughter. She knew she had to break the news to Starlight but she wanted to make it as easy as possible.

“Elysie? Come here.”

“Pumpkin, can you come here?” 

“Yes Eema.”

“Eema, are you okay?”

Starlight patted the space next to her as her daughter approached, turning to look her in the eyes.

Her little Starlight came to where her mother rested, her expression fraught with worry. The way her mother called her over, barely able to pick herself up, seemed to suggest there was bad news. Her mother groaned as she heaved herself to an upright position, looking her in the eye.

“You have an amazing power, sweetie. You have the power to help a lot of ponies. But I want you to be safe above anything else. Did you know your Savta had powers a lot like yours?”

“Look at you, my little pumpkin. Such a strong filly. You’re going to change the lives of a lot of ponies one day. Do you know I help ponies every day?”

Prophecy gasped in awe.

Starlight nodded hesitantly, a lump of uncertainty forming in her throat.

“No! Really?”

“Yes...what’s happening Eema?”

“Yes! She helped a lot of ponies learn about their futures. She could predict bad things before they happened, but she could also tell ponies about good things in their future! She did it all by reading their auras, isn’t that nice?”

“Helping lots of ponies is one of the best things you can do, pumpkin, but it can take a real toll on you. Sometimes you bite off more than you can chew...like I did.”

“Yeah! Do you think I could do that, Eema?”

“Wh...what does that mean, Eema? Are you...”

“Well, if you want to. But I need you to listen to me.”

“Listen to me, Starlight.”

Starlight took Prophecy’s hooves in hers, tilting her chin up until she looked her straight in the eye.

Twinkle took Starlight’s hooves in hers, lifting her face until she could look into her tearful, heartbroken eyes.

“Your Savta used her powers so much that that it hurt her. A lot of ponies asked for her help and she never told them no. She drained all the magic she had and that’s how she died, Prophecy.”

“I’m not going to make it, Starlight. I don’t have much time left. Soon, I will just be a memory.”

Prophecy’s eyes filled with fear.

Starlight’s worst fears were confirmed in an instant the moment those words fell from her mother’s lips, she immediately started sobbing as it all hit her like a train wreck.

“Really? Her powers made her lose all her magic? Am I going to die too, Eema?”

“NO! You can’t go! There has to be a way to stop it! There has to be a cure! You have to get better!”

“No! Goodness, no.”

“I’m sorry, there’s nothing we can do.”

Starlight was pained seeing her daughter so scared and discouraged so quickly made to comfort her. She had the same fear but she wasn’t going to let her absorb that.

It broke Twinkle’s heart to see her baby so broken up, she wanted to cry with her but she was just too exhausted. She couldn’t be physically strong anymore but she wanted to be emotionally strong for her little one.

“You’ll be just fine. But I want you to be careful, Elysie. If you’re tired, take a break. Say no to ponies if you need to. Your Savta always put others first and I admire that, but...please, I want you to take care of yourself.”

“You’re going to be okay, I promise. You are so smart and talented, you’re not going to let your destiny ruin you. Instead it will make you stronger. Take good care of yourself in whatever you do, Starlight, and always remember me.”

Prophecy nodded.

Starlight sniffled and nodded weakly.

“I promise, I will.”

“I will, Eema.”

“Good.”

“I know you will.”

Starlight smiled and held her daughter close.

Twinkle leaned into her daughter, using her remaining strength to feel her daughter’s aura, to make one final prediction.

“I’m no prophet but you have great things ahead of you. Your Savta would be proud.”

“I see wonderful things in your future, Starlight. I’m already so proud of you.”

Hey guys! I've been doing my rounds of HCR (Hero City Rollers) research and I stumbled across this 133-page history pamphlet thingy!

It's very fascinating, and I recommend looking it over! I can't read or understand German, but I still thought it was an interesting find!

I think it's interesting that they've been doing illegal Starlight Express productions since 1996- I'm not sure if this will be taken down, but I want ro share some information if anyone cares lol-

The few original non StEx musicals they've written, "Tabaluga und Lilli" and "Atlantis" also look very intriguing to research! I unfortunately cannot understand what's written about it though :(

Hey, now wait just a minute-

I'll have you know Rootin' Tootin' is a time-honored staple of country vernacular. You can't just outlaw a whole multi-use word (did you know it can be a noun, verb, and adjective? That's just plain economical!) just because you don't like it.

That said, I'll make sure to introduce him to a few more of my more... interesting and colourful country idioms, just so there is some variety in there. I can sympathize with having to hear the same one over and over again. I've got one about skeletons getting frisky on a tin roof that I think he'll get a good laugh out of that I've been saving for the right moment. Looks like the time has come!

💙 Starlight is what’s known as an “artificial alicorn”. After never fully forgiving herself for her past misdeeds, she turned down Twilight’s offer to train to become a princess in the future. As an alternative, Celestia gave her a spell which would grant her magically-manifested wings that were able to be controlled exactly like any other. Seeing as she was one of the most powerful unicorns the princesses had ever seen, Starlight quickly caught on to the ins and outs of her new abilities.

💙 Hosts a Dragon Pit game night every other weekend at Twilight’s castle. Trixie, Sunburst, Maud, and Moondancer (who just so happened to also be a lifelong fan) are the other members of this nerdy bunch. Maud wins almost every time. How, exactly, they have no clue.

💙 First met Moondancer after Twilight (AKA Equestria’s biggest shipper) set the pair up on a mystery date. She noticed the two had similar pasts involving abandonment issues, social anxiety, and a passion for magic and classic literature. After months of dancing around their feelings for one another, the two flustered dorks finally got together. Now everypony has to put up with their constant PDA wherever they go. They are 100%, Celestia-approved, hopeless romantics.

💙 She likes kites. She likes making kites. She likes flying kites. Just... kites. One night, a tipsy Starlight told Moondancer, “Imma gonna quit ma job an’ open a kite museum. Is’ gonna be so cool. We’re gonna be rich, Moony!” Moondancer got the whole exchange on video. Starlight says she’s dead to her /j.
