Some MORE Thoughts…
—I’ve actually had the hankering to do some art again after like a month, haha ^^ Taking a month hiatus from creating to refill my creative well has done me some wonders, because now I feel a lot more inspired and ready to write and draw!
—An idea that I’ve had for the last couple of days was including Dragon Tales into SRBA. My childhood lives! I love how at this point, the remastered SRBA is kinda becoming the MCU, lol—after all, I kinda have it set that the Super Readers would meet WordGirl and the characters from Santiago of the Seas, so why the heck not XD That means I’m gonna have to go back and fix the timeline again to include this.
—And in case anybody was wondering what other shows would be featured in this AU, it’s currently Santiago of the Seas, WordGirl, Dragon Tales and (possibly) Arthur. The later I put in brackets because I’m not sure how it’d work yet ^^;
—I am still working on that KonoSuba/Star Fox story, but most of it is just brainstorming fifty million ideas. I do have some cool ideas for a potential sequel starring either Slippy or Beltino. Why? Well, I wanted to challenge myself writing a character that I eventually grew to appreciate—as I wrote in the original post, Fox and Falco would fit in with KonoSuba perfectly, but it’s too obvious a choice. Putting in a happy-go-lucky mechanic with no sense of flying in a world like KonoSuba’s would be hilarious—or a mild-mannered scientist like Beltino. All I know is that either one of them would end up in Kazuma’s party, and Slippy and Aqua would butt heads because of her hatred for toads, LOL.
—2024 is not being kind to Love Livers thus far. I still think the whole “Love Live disappears but Revue Starlight is eternal” meme compilation is hilarious, though. Power creep and insane rates will not stop this game, I swear. Oh, and speaking of Revue Starlight, it’s been loving me again?? I’ve had better luck getting the 5-stars recently than I have had getting the birthday cards the last few years?! Which is good news for me, because my Wind, Moon and Space teams SUCK and I needed some better cards in order to prep for both Star Arena matches and future Trophy Roads.
—Kinda hopped back onto my Multo/Zeeter mood again, so I’ve been working on Love Language in between working on that StarFox/KonoSuba idea. I’m trying out a new writing routine, and hopefully, I can finish the first chapter sometime this year!
—Speaking of them, I was rereading my notes for that Revue Starlight inspired AU and I need to write out a post yelling about that. I literally have like six to seven pages of notes!
—Started Atelier Resleriana and it’s kinda cute! I’ve heard of the Atelier series, but never got a chance to play any of the games. But I’m liking it so far.
—Racing to get to the next few chapters of HI3rd. I’m kinda stoked for Part 2!
—And since I also got hit with the mood for it a few days ago, I’m going to be doing some in-depth notes about the Cerulean Avenger story, namely regarding the characters and what all to expect. The reason for that? It relates to the art I’m going to drop after making this post! 😁

What's a great boss encounter featuring some major space limitation (disappearing arena collapsing ceiling hallway etc)?
What's a great boss encounter featuring some major space limitation (disappearing arena, collapsing ceiling, hallway, etc)? I had a lot of fun in Starfox 64 on the boss that runs down a hallway as you chase it in your spaceship. I thought it was a really unique fight compared to all the others in that game. And something about how claustrophobic and limited the space is really makes you rethink your strategies and try new things. Severely limiting the space of the fight in general is what I really like. The ways I've seen bosses do that include destroying/inactivating parts of the arena, running away from you so you have to chase, doing constant area-wide attacks, and dropping debris on your head, though I'm sure there are more. So in that spirit, I was curious what other great bosses really test your ability to plan, move, and attack in a limited space. (Unfortunately for the Null Order, they couldn’t anticipate Slippy Toad’s tech mastery to include analysis, so the most concerning tech was already scanned and being analyzed. If he could track how well something’s shield were holding up as accurately as he could, he could make the self destruct systems of the Null Order ships useless. Meanwhile, as Rubicante unleashed Radiant Plume (and shocked the CRWBY (and anyone else yet to see something like this) with the ensuing firestorm) and the flames subsided…)
Rubicante: Very well…you fare as well as I anticipated…though know that now I shall unleash my full power! *Reveals his more overtly demonic right half, his cloak seemingly shortening before a massive wing emerges form his back*…Few bare witness to my true form…*wraps himself with his single massive wing, before becoming enshrouded in Violet flames*
(…the battle grew more intense.)
(A.N. I imagine Cinder is watching this and is jealous of Rubicante’s sheer fiery power. He can literally make minions out of fire, after all, and even illusions that surpass Emerald’s illusions with his magic. After all…in FFXIV, his arena isn’t actually above the ground with a ledge before he makes a ledge appear)
Ruby: You guys fight these things on a regular basis???
Jackrow: Technically no but we have "fought" something similar to a Voidsent before...Until Samuel stole our kill to get more power from it...*He definitely had bad memories of the whole experience...But that wouldn't stop him or the others from striking this demon down*
(Meanwhile with Samus and the gang)
*After the fight had finally concluded, Zilla Jr had almost immediately went back to sleep and Team StarFox had agreed to report these "Null Order" individuals back to base...Samus had decided that this was enough action for her today in this place and soon began to heading her way back to the rebels base with the two relatively fine passengers excited as they can be*

Harry’s Fine Line
Put a price on emotion.
I was reflecting on the situation that Harry is in. Prime of his youth and career-wise has been moving more towards films. Has a record deal for 3 albums, is about to build an arena in Manchester with the Azoff’s.
And then it struck me that actually, Harry is nowhere near coming out.
He is about to appear on our screens in DWD, My Policeman and is rumoured to be in the Eternals (playing the role of Starfox). We have learnt recently that Harry knew for over a year that he may be appearing in My Policeman as he has sent he script to Emma Corrin, to share her thoughts as a valued friend. Initially we thought that Lily James would appear alongside Harry, it is now Emma.
Emma has links to the Azoff’s and also to Harris Reed and Harry Lambert so it's not surprising she has ended up on the screen with Harry. If anyone thinks nepotism doesn't exist in Hollywood - where have you been? I guess I am thinking about it this way. Harry has a contract which he cannot honour at this stage due to lack of touring.
The increased movie presence seems to me like a planned move he has made with Jeff, possibly thinking the tour would have been over by this point, therefore the DWD film was a substitute for the tour (as he was a substitute for Shia LeBeouf who was fired to due to allegations from FKA Twigs that he assailed and abused her); so imagine Harry’s stunting with Olivia was literally a swap over of T&C.
Actual footage of Olivia reacting to all the articles and buzz she has managed to create for herself:
I strongly believe that Shia was meant to be the stuntee with Olivia in this case and scenario. Anyway, we know how it worked out with Olivia and Jason! Jason hot his Golden Globe, wore a tie die hoodie and won the nations sympathy over a stoned divorcee image, so carefully crafted as we learn that he was actually in the Ted Lasso apartment (SHOCK) with his fellow co-star (allegedly now gf). It's a mess. I personally watched the footage and it seemed like Olivia was screaming and Jason was shushing her: which now will be portrayed as his new gf freaking out? IDK. These stuns are so elaborate and twisted that neither Mexican telenovela nor my vivid dreams after eating too much cheese could compete.
Back to our boy.
Harry thought he would have had done the tour by now (Louis, too) so the My Policeman was planned all along and here he portrays a gay character who is in the closet (the irony) while infatuated with Patrick / married and drumroll he is a policeman. Harry is going to get so much thrown at him for this (flashbacks to his Vogue shoot), alas he already must have weighed these consequences and I'm sure through fully consider it over the year he has had a chance to hold on to the script and having read the book.
The crux of this? Articles have already been run back in November linking Emma and Harry together with the headline (I love when they do this) “fans speculate Harry and Emma dating?”. Meanwhile fans 🌚🌝.
My point is that with one look an Emma’s IG page and photoshoot by Harris Reed I was certain she was...not straight. Now, judge me all you want for labelling someone. SHE IS GAY. I think you can see where I am going with this?
I think and dare say the original plan (there have been mention from Emma how her and Harry are close, dog sitting, etc.) was for Emma to be the ‘tour girlfriend’, to reduce speculation once again about H’s sexuality while he sings Medicine, while amplifying his ambiguity as he licks the microphone.
Look, Harry is an adult. He is no longer sixteen. The fine line he is walking now is the path of his career and being true to himself. He is not hiding because he doesn't want to be honest, I see him utilise his influence such as building the arena in Manchester as a way to pay back to his community for creating more jobs - he offers money to charity from his concerts in the towns where he tours - this is more of a reality check for all of us.
Once again capitalism sucks. Women are the fans and men are the stars. It really is that simple, women are the market here, we are no trusted to buy albums of a queer artist. I am not surprised. Just look at the hatred in the fandom, people have literally unfollowed the Eroda account when they liked “Louis the fish book”.
SUCK ON THIS ANTIS:
Harries love to wave the “unlabelled” as a way to tell us to shut up. So yeah, being queer and in the spotlight sucks. Just go and research careers of gay men who have c/o in their 20s and persisted to make it big in music or film?
Neil Patrick Harris is pretty much the only name I am getting...everyone gets put in their gay box and once you are there you are a caricature, mere stereotype or you just don't get anymore roles where you can be a bit more wholesome.
Harry is not about to magically jump out of his closet, so the sooner certain fans accept that...the easier for them.

I have an idea!!
So a while ago i finished the awesome netflix run of voltron, and i around about the same time got an snes classic and started playing starfox, when the idea hit like a twin beam cannon.
A voltron video game... in the style of starfox!!!!!
-A starfox style game where you play as voltron lions saving planets and fighting as full sized voltron.
-Loading screens show the team working and hanging out.
-Boss fights as the assembled voltron. Levels leading up mix between traditional starfox levels (on rails and arena) and side scrolling like gradius.
-A multiplayer arena mode where players can choose a pvp or pve fight as well as on foot or in the lions (training sim).
- co-op multiplayer where characters fight through one of several scenes and locals from the show, saving the inhabitants and fighting the giant monsters from the show.
Who else would love to see this made official?!??!

More Star Fox arena stuff inbound! This time it’s the Star Wolf team! The team is hired by Camilla Valentia to investigate the mysterious abandoned space colony Fortinbras, now joined by their newest (and youngest) member Quetzal Cortez.
Panther I actually had to draw twice because his first outfit (which you can see in previous SFArena posts) just…wasn’t good enough for him. I had to dig deeper. And lower his neckline, apparently.
Fun fact: Quetzal is the only character in the roster who is left-handed.

Week #68 Retrospective
I’ll be honest, this wasn’t quite what I was expecting. I was expecting something terrible and not that fun to play, like Sonic Spinball. Instead, Knuckles’ Chaotix is... mostly just mediocre.
The developers knew the physics of the ring tethers were stupid as heck and the levels were built to accommodate them, I’ll give them that. There’s more focus on navigating each stage, with most of the automatics taking the form of simple elevators of one form or another. The result is more spartan and artificial than most Sonic games, but given the whole thing takes place in an Eggman-dominated theme park, perhaps it works out. I kinda wish the overall game structure in terms of linearity and acts per zone were more traditional, if only so there was a real sense of progression, but I guess they hit the limit of the 32X’s larger processing with the memory limitations of a cartridge and had to get it up to four hours of playtime somehow.
The CPU controlling the partner can be a joke, though. Infamously, Charmy has way too hard a time getting off elevator platforms in the Arena stages. I’ve added a 2 Player run of the game to my schedule to see if that improves things. Still not sure how to do multiple players with my current recording setup, but I’ve got time to figure out something.
The bosses are mostly simple enough, but the Arena’s boss is unfair in the sense that the floor and ceiling of the boss arena do not move to indicate the characters are moving. This is just deceptive. The others are barely memorable, but at least they’re better than Sonic CD’s. I suppose something has to counter the complete lack of checkpoints and lives.
Though the game certainly manages to do a good job of 3D polygon drawing that matched up with StarFox... that did it with a single chip two years earlier. But still, while it is pretty damn easy, I think it’s worth checking out.
(also the colors didn’t bother me)

Me again. Since you're a fan of Robot Wars I felt it was appropriate to mention that it apparently got 2 video games. Though you probably knew that already in hindsight.
They actually had a few more tbh! I've got all of em- Metal Mayhem on Game Boy Colour (which is absolutely awful with crap graphics, weird choices of robots you can play as and weapons that are all the same), Advanced Destruction on GBA (which has much better graphics but isn't that good to play), Arenas of Destruction on PS2 (which has decent graphics by early PS2 standards but can be a real pain with how often your robot will lose its weapon or break down) and Extreme Destruction on GBA (which has StarFox-style vector graphics and looks kinda messy but plays decently) and Xbox (which uses the same engine as Arenas of Destruction and is better in some ways and worse in others so evens out as about the same in terms of quality).

I went to EGLX and Toronto’s gaming community blew me away
Last month I went to EGLX, or the Enthusiast Gaming Live Expo, which happened from March 9 to 11 at the International Centre in Mississauga. On their website, they claim to be Canada’s largest video game expo and their mission is to bring people together to be “united by gaming.”
Unfortunately, due to schedule restrictions (I’m looking at you, school), I was only able to attend EGLX on Saturday and Sunday – both of which were completely different and awesome experiences.
The four grand stages at EGLX for competitive games Hearthstone, Super Smash Bros. and a rotation of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, fighting games and Halo 5.
Saturday
On Saturday, I went alone to check out what EGLX had to offer, having never been there previously. Their website boosted highlights such as an indie games and virtual reality (VR) showcase, big name exhibitors and local artist corner, industry panels, competitive gaming, a cosplay lounge and even a nerf battle.
My first order of business was, of course, to take a picture with the mascot, Mr. Destructoid of game-focused media site Destructoid fame.
Would it be appropriate to make a Mr. Roboto pun here?
Once I entered the main hall, I was met with a larger than life version of Settlers of Catan, where guests were free to jump in and play as long as there was a free spot available. I was super tempted to make that my first stop, but Catan can potentially take hours and there was still so much more to see!
When I first arrived, the giant Catan board was currently open for play as the previous game had just ended, but I had to resist temptation!
Beyond the Catan booth, there were rows of VR games displayed. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to indulge in any of the games due to being a spectacled being, but that just means I need to remember to bring my contacts the next time there are VR booths involved at an event.
My favourite set up was one by VR Star Games for Furious Seas, a to be released pirate VR adventure that was displayed next to a palm tree, a realistic looking cannon and of course, a pile of treasure.
I wonder if you can find One Piece in this game. Any anime fans amongst my readers?
What blew me away the most and what I ended up spending the most time on with my trip to EGLX was the indie games corner, which featured primarily student-made games from Sheridan College’s gaming program. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to take any photos of the games themselves due to my excitement, but here’s a quick list of the ones I got to play and loved:
The Blobs Fight: The first game I tried was probably the most simple of all the games I was able to play, but also one of my favourite ones at EGLX! Developed by Skypyre Studios, the premise is exactly what you’d expect it to be: animated blobs fighting each other to the death. You can play up to eight (eight!!) customizable blobs at a time in different arenas, where you try to knock off pieces from other blobs until they become small enough to disappear so you can collect the pieces and become a mega blob or be the last one standing.
Head Rush: It took me a while to get that the game was literally about trying to affect the emotions of someone’s brain in an arcade style, time-trial game where you go really fast (head… rush… get it? Just me? Okay). Once I understood the concept, the rest of the gameplay flowed easily to me, though I still found the first level quite hard! The music is quirky and fits super well with the game design and I really loved the choice of colours! Sort of reminds me of the final level of Starfox, but just the first part of it and includes less impending doom. It’s developed by Jellyware Games, which you should definitely give a follow to!
Wanderfall: Developed by Grabby Thing Games, Wanderfall is a speed run sort of game – one where you glide smoothly along landscapes and jump across beautifully rendered ledges and hidden paths in order to collect as many crystals as you can. It was, unfortunately, also the game I struggled with the most because I’m definitely more of an “explore every nook and cranny” sort of gamer instead of a speed runner! Still, I enjoyed playing Wanderfall and did eventually play it again later on after they polished it up even more (though my friends laughed at me struggling to play it both times).
Godsend: Godsend, created by Patchwork Games, is a game that I find myself being able to play for hours. You play as a shapeshifter who is able to “shift your soul into other creatures,” therefore using their powers to accomplish the objectives and beat the level. But only being able to play a couple of minutes and try out a few of the many abilities and creatures that you could become simply wasn’t enough time! The backgrounds were gorgeous and I was really intrigued with the puzzles presented in this platformer, so I will be coming back to play this game (which you can download on Itch.io) in the future! Shoutouts to Coley who dealt with me dying a million times the first time I played.
Super Random Heroes and Bag Box: Both developed by OddBird Studios who has, since the writing of this blog, won both the pitch competition at EGLX as well as Best Game at Level Up Showcase, Super Random Heroes and Bag Box are two of their latest games after their flagship game, Arrow Heads (which I still need to play!), was released. Bag Box is a very simple two player game using just one controller – which is simply genius – where you try to knock out your rival in a boxing match and see who depletes the others’ health first. It’s very easy to pick up, has very clean and simple graphics and I definitely recommend giving it a download to play against a friend. I played against one of the developers and lost (I suspect some foul play) and I’m hoping for a rematch one day!
Following OddBird’s distinct style of clean, colourful and vibrant characters and stories, Super Random Heroes is the newest game that they’re working on featuring an angry pedestrian who ended up with super hero powers that he didn’t want and is now on a mission to get rid of them. In addition to having super hero powers, one of the game mechanics also lets you stack and modify the powers that you have in order to keep your play through unique and exciting. It’s a great, crazy twist on the usual brand of super hero video games and I can’t wait to play the full version when it’s complete!
Fossil Hunters: Lastly, let’s talk about Fossil Hunters by Reptoid Games. A fun solo or multiplayer game that has you playing quirky characters digging up bones and putting them back together while salamanders try to throw you off the platform, rocks fall down onto your party and you and your friends get separated by immovable boulders along the way. I actually kept running around the convention and coming back to this game multiple times, but every time I was there, it was preoccupied by other gamers who wanted in on the digging action. Once I got my hands on it, I loved it – I’m a huge sucker for a good puzzle game – and the art is so endearing! It’s currently out on Steam, but I’m waiting for that sweet Nintendo Switch release.
Sunday
Surprise! Can you guess which one I am? (Hint: I'm the green one.)
Here’s a surprise if you’ve made it this far: I cosplay! This convention isn’t my first rodeo, but it is my first video game exclusive convention. I had such a fun day meeting friends new and old yesterday, but wanted to use Sunday as a way to de-stress and talk to other cosplayers that I knew who were going to EGLX, as well as drag a few of my own friends into cosplaying Nintendo characters with me. The Nintendo booth had fun with us.
Conclusion
A vast majority of the exhibition hall occupied by the hum and lights of desktop computers running games such as Fortnite, PUBG, Rocket League, etc.
After doing some research, I was informed that this was EGLX’s second year running, but last year wasn’t their first. Apparently, EGLX premiered during 2016 with very little fanfare, so the organizers took the show backstage and polished it up so that it would receive the attention it deserved when it came back in 2018. That being said, the whole event was planned out and put together within about a month or so and while I had a great time there, there were a few things that I wondered about.
The schedule had a Nintendo event listed for Saturday that I spent a good 15 minutes looking for, but that no staff could tell me about.
While there were many excellent exhibitors displayed at the con, I wondered why some groups that I assumed would also be there, weren’t. Was it a matter of time or availability on both or part of the parties? Toronto Gaymers, one of the largest gaming groups in the city, as well as George Brown and other colleges with prominent game development programs seemed to be absent.
There was a thing? I’m not too sure. And I wonder if it was worth bringing up on the Twitter page.
The advertising for the event seemed very much for the general public, but the only ones who seemed to really use their time to the fullest or had a voice at the convention seemed to be those involved in the game industry.
The division of the space inside the exhibition hall was extremely varied. Competitive gaming had the largest space, with everything else having just enough in order to function by, but it usually ended up crowded.
Though there were a decent amount of cosplay guests, I noticed most cosplayers stuck to the cosplay lounge, which was a small square in the middle of the exhibition hall and was generally overcrowded. I wonder if it would have been better to combine the cosplay lounge with the board game/rest area that was set up next to the registration hall instead.
The website sometimes had different pages with different information on it, making it difficult to find the information you needed depending on what page you were on at the time.
Don’t get me wrong – I had a blast! And I’m so excited to go again next year. It was amazing to see some very big triple A game companies next to smaller studios and all the different ways that so many different people play games.
So, whether it is for competitive reasons, friends and family, solo, or even VR and board games – EGLX had a little bit of everything for everyone and I can’t wait to see what they have planned next year!

Bold games means they came out this year, and I also included games I bought for other people and games people got my as gifts. just to make sure I kept track of EVERYTHING. Also, I only include games I played for the first time this year or played with the intention of beating this year. For example, I played Blue Dragon Plus in 2019 too, but tried to beat it again this year so I included it. However, I played Smash Ultimate in 2019 and 2020, but didn’t plan on beating the story mode again, so I didn’t put it on the list. If that makes sense.
Hopefully this is all of it. You’ll forgive me if I forgot some stuff. Thanks again to everyone who commissioned me or got me any of these games as gifts! I wouldn’t have been able to experience so many great titles without your help!
