ANOTHER BELMONT OC!?

Caroline Belmont

(Most active: 1900-1910s)

A descendant of Trevor Belmont’s eldest son. Though the Belmont clan was without the legendary whip, it didn’t mean that they weren’t fighting against the night. Caroline often traveled by train, killing vampires who boarded evening journeys while crossing Europe. Caroline married an eccentric inventor named Alexander Rockwell (though he took the Belmont name upon marriage), who crafted her beloved red parasol, which contained a retractable pointed tip concealed in the top. Caroline often kept a number of vampire-hunting tools hidden on her person, including a small pistol and silver hat pins hidden in her hair.

Catherine is done! Castlevania OC.

At around age four, Callidora was spirited away by the fae and swapped with a changeling. Hector and Julia figured it out quickly, but were unable to find their daughter. The scared little girl escaped the fae, but couldn’t find her way home. She was then found by Mother Gia, an eccentric nun who ran an orphanage (and also had plenty of experience fighting creatures of the night) and was raised at the Dominion Abbey as Catherine. (It’s not really a religious group, but that’s a long story that I’ll explain when I get to drawing the Castlevania version of Gia.)

At the age of eleven, she makes a deal with a fae named Arl to help hone her alchemical and magical talents and find her parents, in exchange for her soul after death, and her voice.

She does eventually reunite with her parents at fourteen years old. Here she is at seventeen.

Sooooo I haven’t been on DeviantART since like 2019. I basically moved exclusively to tumblr. But one of my friends lurks on dA still, and apparently, there is a dude on there mainly in the Pokemon fandom who is a complete train wreck to watch. We’re talking zero self-reflection, complete entitlement, hiding behind his disability instead of trying to better himself, demanding people respect his boundaries when he doesn’t respect anyone else’s.

I’m not gonna name him because I don’t wanna doxx him and I don’t want to risk him finding my stuff and getting fixated on my own OCs, but he’s a mess. If you know who I’m talking about, you’re already thinking “Oh, god.”

He hates when you use certain words (I’m not gonna say which words, but they’re fairly common ones), and demands you use other words instead. He claims it’s an injustice when people call him out on his behavior, no matter how polite they are. If you block him, he sends his alts to bother you.

But most recently, what really got me mad was he commissioned art of himself hugging someone’s OC, that he was obsessed with for A DECADE.

He did not get the OC creator’s permission, and when they called him out, he doubled down and basically said “my wants override your boundaries because you don’t understand how badly I want this.”

So folks…

If someone says you can’t use their OC for something, YOU CAN’T USE THEIR OC. END OF STORY. I DON’T CARE HOW BADLY YOU WANT IT.

Also he’s selling said art. Art he didn’t create, and all that.

Having a disability is not an excuse, when countless other people with the same disability can be polite and take no for an answer. He doesn’t want therapy—he wants yes men. People who agree with him. He wants people to “understand” his problems, when he makes no effort to understand anyone else’s. Why should the effort be given if it’s not returned?

Recently started thinking about Castlevania again and dug up an old OC I made in 2018. Decided to redesign her. She’s not meant to be taken super seriously, so lore-hounds, begone with ye, but this is her story thus far:

So during Julius’ amnesia period, he did end up with a lady (an ER nurse actually, it helps when you get your ass kicked lol). The two of them had a daughter, Ruby. Well, around her early teen years, he gets his amnesia cured, takes off to deal with shit, leaving Ruby confused as hell for two years. He comes back, and well, you can’t just come back from that and everything goes back to normal.

Julius has begun training Ruby in the ways of the vampire hunter, but because she had a late start she’s quite inexperienced, and their relationship isn’t as close as it was pre-regaining his memory. Her mom is still her rock in all of this, and is coming to grips with her own feelings about it all.

But Ruby is a ball of sass and while she doesn’t have Dracula to worry about, there’s still plenty of night creatures to deal with (and I’m fleshing out an RP with my friend where she faces off against a winter Fae, which is an entirely different kettle of fish the Belmonts have no history with! She’ll be okay tho, Soma’s with her.)

What Ruby lacks in experience she makes up for in adaptability and athleticism.

I tried less of a manga style this time.

I had someone ask if I was a Buffy fan because of Ruby, and I feel like I should clarify I didn’t watch Buffy. Know who did? My older sister. Religiously. I would see glimpses passing through the room and know like…the basic cast, and read a comic adaptation of the original movie the show’s based on. But no, I’m not a Buffy fan. Lmao

I’ve decided to make an attempt at a Rayquaza precure—I’ve held off on a lot of the Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald legendaries (save for Cure Starlight/Jirachi) cuz I just couldn’t think of anything and their designs weren’t giving me any outfit ideas. But I decided with Rayquaza’s Cure, I’d go with a futuristic/retro sci-fi look.

Meet Hitomi Ryūzaki, a part-time model and STEM college student. Her philosophy is “you can have science and sparkle.”

Listened to a lot of music from Hirogaru Sky Precure for inspiration.

The reason her hand is behind her compact is a reference to how influencers will put their hands behind objects to force the camera to focus on the objects, since she’s a model. :D

Wait, shoot, I didn’t post these? Well, I made Reshiram and Zekrom magical girls, Amelia Blackwell and Nadine Whitman, both aged 17. The pair work together, separate from other Unova cures—and with their flames and lighting combined they make a powerful team!

It’s finally summer break, and Hanabi is heading to Mossui Town to visit her friend Carmine, finally back from school in Unova!

I tried using the panorama tool in clip studio paint and it gave me a *really* good base to build a background on.

After starting this a **FREAKING YEAR AGO,** it’s finished!

I ran a poll on twitter about which Precure series would match best thematically with Earthbound/Mother 2, and the overwhelming winner was Healin’ Good Precure, which came out in 2020 and has a theme of medicine and healing the earth (Ironic given the year it came out).

Hanabi and Carmine met in kindergarten. After a time of being rivals (Hanabi mistook Carmine’s abrasiveness for being a bully, while Carmine thought Hanabi was a know-it-all), they settled into a longtime friendship.
