I was talking to my brother about DS9 the other day, and while trying to describe their relationship, I ended up calling Quark "His (Odo's) Thing". I then proceeded to elaborate by explaining that Quark and Odo have something going, but no one is exactly sure what.

I want to take a moment to apologize for not posting any stories lately. Life has been incredibly busy. I’m currently pregnant with my miracle baby girl, and am due in September. Star Trek makes me soooo crazy cuz you got Picard saying things like "It is possible to commit no mistakes and still lose."

And Data saying things like "I would gladly risk feeling bad at times, if it also meant that I could taste my dessert."

And Bashir saying things like “You can't go through life trying to avoid getting a broken heart. If you do, it'll break from loneliness anyway."

And Odo sayings things like "It has been my observation that one of the prices of giving people freedom of choice is that sometimes they make the wrong choice."

And I’m just supposed to be normal about it???

Absolutely transcendent move from Star Trek to write a shapeshifter character who's kind of bad at it. You're like, "oh so he can impersonate other characters?" and they're like no he's not very good at faces :(

odo art for today

and heres just the lineart because i love nice crisp weighted lines.

rene had such a great way with body language which he leaned on during his performance as odo- i assume because his face was covered by a creepy skin-mask the whole time, limiting his facial expressions. very fun to see how he portrays this really gruff grumpy dude in his posture. he’s always skulking around with his head low and his nose high.

so i’ve finally got a good grasp on how to draw odo with stylistic flair. drawing goo is both meditatively fun and horribly tedious, 7/10.

i like his eyes. look at em. what a freak.

Heads/ Tails (Odo x female Reader)

Background: Odo and reader had broken up early in the Dominion war because the Founders sabotaged their relationship. Now that Odo is human, him and reader repair ties. Lwaxana tries to play matchmaker, But do reader and Odo get back together after a night of romance?

Warning: slight smut (like a paragraph or so, under 18, do not read) mild angst, happy ending

A/n: I have been on an Odo kick lately, and I’m living for it! Goodbye writer’s block. Inspired by the song “Heads/ Tails” by Hotspur

Word count: ~1,200

This next song,” Vic Fontaine begins, “is ladies choice. Ladies, find a nice gent to dance with.”

I glance at Odo. “You want to? Just for the hell of it, I mean.”

Odo and I had been friends again for a while, but I wasn’t sure if he still had feelings for me the way I did for him. If nothing else it could be a dance among friends.

He shrugged, “why not?”

I take his hand as I lead him to the dance floor.

“You look lovely tonight,” Odo says. If I hadn’t known better, I would have thought I noticed a hint of shyness.

Heat rises to my cheeks as I blush. “Thanks, Lwaxana picked out the dress. You look nice, too.”

“Lwaxana said that I should wear this suit. I wasn’t sure at first though. I honestly wasn’t planning on coming here tonight,” he replies.

I smirk, as an idea dawns on me. “Neither was I. Ya wanna know something?”

“Hm?” Odo asks.

“If I didn’t know any better,” I begin. “I would have thought that Lwaxana set us up.”

Odo’s eyes widened slightly, “you think so?”

I shrug, “it’s possible.”

“And if she did?” he asks.

“What the hell, I’m just gonna enjoy it,” I smirk.

“I think I will, too.” Suddenly Odo dips me, and kisses me on the lips, before lifting me back up.

He blushes. “Sorry, I’ve always wanted to do that.”

“Don’t be,” I smile wide. I place one hand on his cheek, and the other on the back of his neck, and kiss him more passionately.

“Hey, kids, get a room,” Vic jokes at the end of the set.

Odo and I look at Vic, and then back at each other. “Sorry,” I giggle.

I take Odo’s hand and we run out of the Holosuite and head to my quarters.

*slight smut*

Odo unzips my dress, and admires me for a moment. “You are so beautiful.”

“And you are very handsome,” I say, placing a hand on his chest.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” he asks, leading me to the bed.

I nod, “I am if you are.”

“Yes, I’m sure,” Odo replies.

Odo is bigger than I remember, but I also have to remind myself that he is human now, so parts of him might be different. I gaze into his eyes as we make love, and feel so honored that not only was I his first as a changeling, but also as a human. We reach our peak at the same time, and kiss as we come down.

“I love you,” Odo says, breathless.

“I love you, too.” I smile up at him.

“Now, I know why you humans enjoy making love so much, I never felt such sensation as a changeling,” he says.

After we get cleaned up, he cuddles me until we fall asleep together. When I awake the next morning, he’s already gone. “Probably an early shift,” I think out loud.

I join Major Kira and Jadzia for lunch at Quark’s.

“So, where did you and Odo slip off to last night?” Kira asks.

“Nowhere important,” I blush and grin, stabbing around at my food.

Jadzia doesn’t even have to study me. “You did it, didn’t you?” She gasps.

I smirk.

“You did!” Kira states, surprised.

“So, how was it?” Jadzia asks.

I sigh. “Well, I’m not at liberty to disclose that information, but there’s a reason I didn’t want to eat here at Quark’s today.”

The three of us start giggling.

“What’s so funny ladies?” The sound of Quark’s voice freaks me out.

“Oh shit,” I mouth to the girls.

“Y/n, congrats to you and Odo,” Quark says smugly.

“Um, thanks. Have you seen him today?” I ask.

Quark shakes his head. “ No, I thought he was still in your quarters.”

“I gotta go, I’ll see you all later,” I reply. Where could Odo be? Was he ashamed about last night?

My anxiety rises, I didn’t see him in security this morning. I walk as fast as I can to his quarters, and ring the doorbell. After a few minutes of no response, I rush back to Security. To my relief, Odo is sitting at his desk. “I’ve been looking for you all day,” I state out of breath.

“Y/n, sit down, you look worn out,” Odo says.

I sit across from him. “I want to talk to you about last night.”

“So do I,” he replies. “I-I can’t stop thinking about it, it was wonderful, but I’m conflicted.”

I straighten up. “About what?”

He sighs. “I don’t understand how you can love me, after all that’s happened. I mean, I would give my last breath to be with you again, but would we work this time?”

I knit my eyebrows. “Odo, you and I both know that the reason we broke up was the founders. I have no reason to be mad at you. Look, I can’t promise you tomorrow, I can’t promise a perfect life, but I promise that as long as there is a heart in my chest, I will love you with every beat of it.”

“Look, I just need some time to think, last night was unexpected,” Odo replies.

My heart sinks. “Do you regret being with me last night?”

Odo shakes his head. “Not for a second. But this is a lot to process. I want to get back together, but I just have some thinking to do.”

I nod. “I want to get back together as well, but I want you to take your time, I don’t want to rush you into anything.”

Odo stands next to me, and takes my hand. “I’m grateful, but I promise I won’t make you wait long. I’ll give you my answer by the end of the night.”

“Computer, time?” I ask.

“The time is 00:00 hours,” the computer states.

I sigh, “midnight.” I bid my mind not to race. Maybe Odo just needed more time to think. I torture myself all night, tossing and turning, and jump out of bed as soon as my alarm goes off. I hurriedly get dressed and rush down to Security.

The door opens, but Odo is nowhere to be seen. However, on the desk is a vase of Bajoran moon flowers.

“Sorry for the delay,” I hear Odo say behind me.

I turn and see Odo standing at the entrance to Security, hands behind his back, smiling softly.

“Are these for me?” I ask.

He nods, stepping in. “Quark owed me a favor, but couldn’t get them in before midnight. The flowers came on the first cargo from Bajor around 300 hours.”

“Oh, Odo,” I hug him by the neck. “Does this mean-?”

Odo pulls away for a moment. “Y/n, I don’t know what the future holds, but I do know that life is better with you in it. You accepted me as a changeling, and you made my transition to human much more bearable. You’re the only person in the universe I could ever wish to be with. Will you be my partner in courtship, my girlfriend, again?”

I hug him again. “In a heartbeat. I love you, Odo.”

“I love you, too, y/n.”

So I spent like a week straight eyeing a Odo doll on eBay and my boyfriend bought him for me and I'm obsessed with him like I sleep with him in my bed now
