Back on my Danny & Ras frienemies/rivals/maybe-lovers-nobody-can-tell-their-signals-are-very-mixed train. 

See, Danny has gone through time a lot. Often. It comes with being Clockwork’s charge-son-thing and honestly he finds it fun. And several times he’s used this time travelling to get some training in. Enter Ras, stage left, also a teen at the time and also learning swordsmanship from the same person. 

And they… utterly despise each other. They would kill the other for an apple slice, if the other one would die! But also, only they can kill the other, as it is obviously their right! 

And well, they keep running into each other. It has been a hundred years, surely the other would die by now? But of course their rival would live through utter spite. Probably to spite them specifically. 

The amount of times they have ended up sparring- trying to kill each other or not- the moment they see the other is actually ridiculous. But time is also passing. And… Danny understands, not having another to talk about things people are forgetting, or have already forgotten. 

How they ended up actually talking without a murder attempt was a long story that included a demon, a dragon, a pair of fae, some bandits, and a lot of alcohol, but it happened. And then it happens again. And again, and now it’s just kind of normal to share a drink after their spars, talking about things that no longer exist, and things they miss. 

Sure Danny can go back in time again, but he knows better than to do it willy nilly. He’s matured, he’s been an adult for a hundred years now, he knows there’s consequences for messing with time, even with Clockwork’s blessings. 

The first time they got married was technically for an undercover assassination. Well, Ras was there to assassinate someone, Danny was there to grab an artifact that should Not be in the realm of the living. And they got divorced after, it was fine. 

They just, also got married again when they met a few years later, for another job. And… okay, so maybe they have gotten married over a dozen times now and only divorced like half of those times. Half of those were for the bit or while drunk! 

And even if technically they’re married or shared a bed, it’s not like they're exclusive! As Ras’ daughters’ existences attest to (adopted in one case or not). They don’t exactly have a label for their relationship, despite others asking for one or trying to put a name to it themselves. 

Now Danny knows Ras isn’t exactly a good dude, or at least on the side of ‘good’ as he’s a literal assassin. But he also knows that good? Bad? Rather relative. He had gotten labeled as a villain when he was just trying to help all that time ago after all, and really who was he to tell someone else how to live their life? 

Which brings him to now, where he’s run into his old frienemy-rival and his youngest daughter. Who has a braindead teenager and a small toddler. Which is fine, really- but also, Talia dear, why are you using a brain dead teenager to guard your three year old son? 

…

Okay, Talia dear, Ras (Derogatory), why are you using your brain dead son and grandson to guard your younger son and grandson? Do you not have the Pits, which you were soo proud about Ras? Yes, he will spar with you, but for Realms’ sake, heal, what’s his name? Ah yes, go heal Jason and he’ll actually stick around for a few years, deal? Good.

Yes, because all women are just so desperate to write about how a 14 yo girl ends up in a relationship with a grown man who’s 11 years older than her, just because he can wield a “laser sword.” That totally doesn’t sound at all like self projection rather than actual facts, and the idea overall totally doesn’t sound drenched in “male gaze” either. Yup. Totally. (Something’s wrong with your vision.)

I don’t know about you, my love, but don’t group the rest of us women with your type.

Btw, did you ever consider that maybe the reason why Padmé wasn’t impressed by him in TPM is because her standards aren’t as low as yours?

Cheesecake Brownie

I’m certainly taking a little bit of a risk here using my faulty oven to bake a cheesecake brownie, rather difficult due to the two different viscosities, the depth of the cake, and my oven’s tendency to turn off midway cooking

However I had it on for an hour preheating and it didn’t turn off at all Alhamdulilah, and I’ve needed to test my oven out to see whether it can withstand another Ramadhan.

And honestly I just want a homemade cheesecake. And not pay £7 for it, I didn’t even pay for these ingredients so technically it’s a free one if this works out 🥺

Jumping off of the Order 66 question from a few weeks ago, I have to wonder; what if their cyare is a Jedi (one-sided) or a force sensitive? (Actually I wonder if force sensitivity is a gray area bc the orders were to annihilate Jedi specifically but anyway...)

I think things would go about the same, personally! Ultimately, in my own headcannon (that obviously doesn't really reflect canon), the clones obsession with these people that have been kind to them when so many others have not would sort of short-circuit their programming (organic chip or not, good treatment your not used to can change your whole brain chemistry!). The twisted love they have for these individuals after being deprived for their whole lives of care and consideration would override their urge to purge them, Jedi or not. (And I think force sensitives fall under this umbrella too, I dont think the chip is picky lol)

Unpopular opinion, though; I don't know how many clones would be overly obsessed with their jedi.

Of course, I'm sure some are at least fond or protective, but how many would tip the scale over to obsession I'm not sure.

I think, unfortunately, Slick had a point. The jedi are largely complicit in the clone's treatment and don't go out of their way to make their lives easier, some not valuing them as anything other than cannon fodder (Ki-Adi-Mundi when I CATCH you-)

Of course, jedi see the value in all life to some extent, but going out of their way to care and treat the clones with tenderness and consideration is just something that's not realistic with them following the jedi rule of attachments. Also, (not to excuse it) war hardens a person, especially a general. It's not too much of a shock to see that a lot of them have to gloss over the clones and resist the urge to form connections with them.

Instead, I raise you obsessed Jedi. So repressed and torn with their forbidden attachments to the clones, they either find themselves becoming increasingly infatuated with both the clones and you. (Or in competition with you, but thats a another sermon for another Sunday.)

They see how tender and sweet you are with the clones, they appreciate how much you do for them that they themselves cannot. (Maybe even find themselves wondering what that tenderness and care would feel like directed at them.) They would even be willing to share you with the clones if they would allow it. Which in my opinion, most clones would be wary of. Even if said individual left the jedi order just to be with them and you.

The clones have at best experienced cordial to lukewarm treatment from their jedi, (despite how the individual might want it, there are rules), they don't want to share with anyone they don't feel close with. Even if they do feel some comradery towards them, it's cultivated more of a bond you would have with your superior at work than a friendship in most cases. (Or a sibling bond, as I believe Rex and Ahsoka have, which I do think could lead to a platonic yandere fixation!)

So, it is very complicated in my opinion, but idk you can ignore this if you want 😭 I don't know how many people will agree or even understand this I'm mostly just rambling about my own theories and feelings.

One of those between Earth and Vulcan so Kirk and Spock are childhood penpals and it includes Spock getting increasingly concerned by what Jim isn’t saying as much as what he is saying, Amanda who thinks their friendship is the cutest thing she’s ever heard of, and Jim who eventually tries to run away to Vulcan and makes it to the Embassy before someone calls Sarek and poor Sarek has to figure out how to collect a child that isn’t his on another planet without causing a diplomatic incident or getting him sent back to an abusive home.

(worth noting: i like them in that they're good characters they just seem like they would be A Lot to hang out with. isabeau is very tall and very loud. mirabelle is filled with anxiety and loves romance. i historically get along with Neither of these personality types)
