Castello di St Andrews, Fife Il vescovo Arnold (1160–1162) iniziò a costruire una nuova cattedrale su una scala senza precedenti. Il vescovo Ruggero (1189–1202) iniziò il nuovo castello come sua residenza ufficiale. Il castello di St Andrews subì danni significativi durante le guerre d'indipendenza con l'Inghilterra (1296–1356). Doveva essere sostanzialmente ricostruito dal vescovo Walter Trail (1385-1401). Le tensioni religiose crebbero all'inizio del XVI secolo, portando a ulteriori lavori di costruzione. L'arcivescovo James Beaton (1521-1539) costruì nuove torri di cannoni per rafforzare le difese del castello, che furono presto messe alla prova dal nipote e successore. Il castello di St Andrews fu lasciato senza un residente o uno scopo quando i vescovi furono aboliti nel 1592. Cadde rapidamente in rovina. Life threw me curveballs, people constantly kept coming and going, disappointments occurred and nothing went according to plan. I found myself stepping out of my comfort zone more than once, which left me exhausted and constantly weary that I didn’t know how to carry on. Although, I learnt to depend on His strength to carry me in the most desperate of times and the most fatigue of days. This year has been a constant reminder to never give up hope to pursue your dreams, no matter how impossible/far-fetched they may seem. Whatever His promises are to you, they WILL come to pass. He will give you the guidance and steps to fulfill it. The training & the process are significant and it’s needed for you to get to your God-given destiny. Be patient and resilient. But more importantly, His grace is sufficient in our weakness and He is our constant strength as we endure these setbacks/tribulations by working hard and doing our best whilst trusting God that He’s got the rest covered. His graciousness and kindness reminds us of how undeserving we are of his reckless love. He meets us where we’re at and loves us just the way we are. Today was my last official day working at #StAndrewsCastle. 😞 it's been wonderful, with lots of laughter, great people, hoardes of tourists (most of the lovely, I'm lucky to say) and I'll be missing the team there most of all.
