Are we doing enough to ensure our children’s safety?

Child abuse can take many forms in India, ranging from physical and sexual abuse to mental harassment.

The Indian government has administrated the “Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO)” Act, 2012 , a specified law, to ensure children’s protection from maltreatment.

Uttar Pradesh(8.6%) was ranked 16th among the twenty-eight Indian states. This simply evidences the un-reporting of “child sexual abuse, the report shows that in 2021 only 36.5% of crimes against children are registered under POCSO Act.

It’s clear that child abuse has become an all-too common occurrence in India and needs to be addressed urgently.

Let’s take collective action to prioritize our children’s safety!

You’ve either worked with them, been friends with them, or they are parts of your family. Have you thought about how they are feeling during all of this that’s going on right now? Yes; I’m White, but I still worry for my own family! My ex husband is Hispanic & Black; so my oldest two children are Black, Hispanic & White. The rest of my children are also mixed, Black & White. My step children are Black, and my other step daughter is Black & White. My husband is Black, but also Indian, from his moms side. All of my grandchildren feel like my own children!
