A war broke out a year after Stanley’s deployment and had been raging for six years. Contact had been practically nonexistent, soldiers having no way to go back home or a way to contact their loved ones.

Xeno had counted. It’s been seven years, three months, twenty-two days, eleven hours, twenty-five minutes, and thirty seconds since he’s seen his best friend’s face.

And in six of those years he had lost communication with the man. For a long time he wondered why Stanley’s calls and letters ceased to exist. But once news broke out to the public he understood.

And it only brought him grief. They wouldn’t give anyone information on the soldiers. Refusing the demands from the public. Their excuse being it’d only “distract” them from the issue at foot. Even if it was potentially true, Xeno didn’t care. He wants—no—needs to see his beloved Stanley. Even if it was one last time.

He can only hope. Hope that he was in one piece, hope that he’ll come back home.

Even if it was in a casket.

Or: Stanley is Odysseus and Xeno is Penelope from EPIC: The Musical. Just in this AU instead of magical shit it’s just Stanley in war without a way to get back to Xeno.

dr stone x fma crossover (no one asked for)

ishvalan war, people are killed by people only because of the difference in skin and eye color, stan is sent to the epicenter of events, and he quickly achieves the rank of captain. the war is ugly, hideous, it destroys not only cities, but also stan's youthful ideals - but he still wants to return to the quiet life of central, where he is waiting for him.

xeno engaged in alchemy research in the capital, looking for new ways to use it, studying rentanjitsu - his life is far from the training ground, and every new day has every chance to come for him. he writes letters and sends them to where people do not wake up at dawn, who fall asleep forever before sunset, waits for answers with uncontrollable trembling in their fingers, and exhales when they come.

stan returns safe and sound, but something changes in his gaze, now you can see the hellish veil of burning ishval in it, but he stubbornly hides it and does not let old wounds bleed when xeno is nearby - these are two different worlds that have found unity in one person, which should not break out into everyday life, which will be buried with him.

and then a secret battle for the philosopher's stone happens, which only a select few know about, which cannot be spoken about out loud - the walls have ears, these walls are soaked in blood and hopelessness, stan learns more than he should know. in a street telephone booth, under the sunset glow, a photograph of him and xeno falls out of a notebook, and, turning around, a shot breaks the silence. a killer with the appearance of xeno, but stan knows, sees the last thing - not his eyes.

and then what if its set in fma-1 where homunculus are the alchemist's mistake in human transmutation.

xeno is going to use all the knowledge he's gained over the years of studying alchemy, despite the ban on transmuting the dead, the gate takes away his memories of stan, and he basically doesn't understand what he was trying to do and why, so he just leaves his lab, where a new homunculus was born.

"father" finds stan, feeds him red stones and orders him to encourage people to create a real philosopher's stone, stan carries out this task, not paying attention to anything, because he believes that this is his direct purpose - to use people for his own purposes, because people are stupid and selfish, and he believes that "father" is right when he calls a person expendable material

by chance he meets xeno, who does not recognize him, but memories of him flash through stan's head - he knows that he was created because of the stupidity of the alchemist, but does not know who exactly, and he does not like that his memories of his life begin to fill his head, he begins to hate xeno, because he became the reason why he had memories, but xeno does not remember stan and believes that he is simply confusing him with someone else. stan first wants to kill xeno, thinking that his memory will die with him, but he can't bring himself to raise his hand against him, so he just stands there and tries to understand why everything is exactly like this, and since xeno is the same alchemist who created him, why doesn't he recognize him now. he tells xeno about his memories, but it doesn't work, xeno's memory is lost forever and wanders somewhere in the gate, but if stan is telling the truth, xeno thinks, then stan is his sin, which means xeno is the one who has to kill him.

How entertaining would it be to read a fic about Xeno or Stanley being so down bad for someone who thinks that they (Stanley and Xeno) are dating.

Think about it. The three of them hanging out together and Stanley straight up flirts with them, only for them to brush it off with a chuckle—thinking he was probably talking to Xeno. Then proceeds to comment about how Stanley and Xeno should get a room.

When it comes to seducing someone, or asking someone out, Stan’s pretty organized about it.

He’s a military man, and he will treat it like a military operation lol

He’ll learn all he can about your interests, your perfect date, anything like that.

Of course, this isn’t some creepy shit, if he feels you two won’t mesh, he won’t try to date you. But if he takes you out, he wants it to be as nice as possible. So, he’s thorough.

Plus, looking into potential partners like this saves him some time and money, since he can usually gauge whether or not you two would mesh or have fun.

XENO

Xeno simply isn’t someone who dates much. He’s a bit of a workaholic I’d imagine.

That’s not to say he doesn’t have the desire to date, he simply lacks the silver tongued skill Stan has.

So, if Xeno asks you out or tries to seduce you, it will be blunt.

Of course, with how analytical he is, like Stan, it will be well researched. If he asks you out, it’ll be blunt, but he’ll mean that shit.

Just...don’t expect a lot of smooth talk and charm about it. He’s not Stan, he will probably talk a lot about unethical sciences over dinner.

As a pair, you are doomed.

They come together to be well-informed on your interests and tastes, and Stan is there to balance out Xeno’s caveman-esque techniques.

You’ve got Stan’s charm and humor, paired with Xeno’s intellegence and intrigue.

Xeno will probably keep you on your toes with his attitude, his conversation topics, and his slightly scary morals. Stan is there to charm and soften his best friend and provide more accessible humor.

So, in short, if they set their sights on you, and deem you datable, they’ve got a high ass chance of succeeding at that shit.

Stanley met you when he came to Xeno’s house when he was 9 years old, the two were chilling in Xeno’s room when you knocked and came in asking your brother for help with your homework. 

It wasn’t love at first sight per say, he was young and had no idea of what love even was 

But that moment he saw you, remained burned at the back of his mind.

Suddenly, Stanley didn’t mind Xeno dragging him home for science experiments, if it meant catching a glimpse of you everytime you ask your brother for help with homework. 

At 10 years old, you and Stanley became friends, your interest in your brother’s science endeavours brought you to spend more time with the duo, making you their 3rd companion. 

Stanley loved seeing you marvel at your brother’s antics, the wide eyes look you’d give when you saw something interesting, sending him a huge grin as if saying ‘stan, look! It’s so cool!!.’ 

Or the way you’d hide behind him when you realised that the experiment was about to explode.

You weren’t like Xeno though whose interest was only in science, you liked physical activities too, and that’s where Stanley came in. 

Oh, your brother doesn’t wanna play basketball with you? Stanley will teach you.

You wanna play volleyball? Stanley will play with you.

Wanna play baseball? Football? Swimming? Badminton? Stanley’s your man.

Of course, you both make Xeno accompany you during some of these, but Stanley enjoys it more with just the two of you.

At the age of 12, you and Stanley were inseparable. And as you both grew up, Stanley’s crush on you grew too. He was now very much aware of his feelings for you. So he’d do anything for you.

Forgot your lunch? He’ll share with you

Need help with homework? He’s not as smart as your brother, but he’s smart enough.

You’re getting bullied? Not on his watch

Each smile you’d give his way gave him butterflies. 

Each interaction, the way you’d cling onto him when you get excited, or the way your pout and sad eyes immediately get him to fold when you want something. 

It’s safe to say that Stanley really does like you, and Xeno saw that.

As your older brother, Xeno had to give Stanley the ‘Talk’ as he called it.

It’s not as if Stanley confessed yet, but in Xeno’s words, “just in case”

Unbeknownst to Stanley, you also grew up to harbour feelings for him. How couldn't you? when the pretty boy was always so kind and thoughtful of you

You could do your homework on your own, but you’d choose to pester your brother for help whenever Stanley was with him.

You had other friends to play those sports with, but you enjoyed playing alone with Stanley. 

At the end of the day, whatever you and Stanley had, be it fleeting or the start of something new, you both cherished it secretly. 

Maybe one day, he’ll tell you how he felt. But for now, He’ll love you silently and enjoy his childhood years with you.

Chapter 221 Trivia

I hope you like Stanley, because this is mostly about Stanley.

Once again we have Stanley represented as the knight. Sure Xeno was his original princess (even if he denies it), but now his princess seems to be the rocket.

Will Stanley get a fairy tale ending?

Xeno obviously wants to keep up his act as a villain, but Ryusui is denying him the privilege.

Stanley's original criteria for revival were loosely based on society being up and running, which is now the case as Ryusui mentions here. Like they'd agreed earlier, what Stanley did was considered justifiable acts of warfare and thus they trust him as a soldier.

Stanley and Xeno are both said to be 180 cm tall on their character files, yet in this picture there's clearly a height difference.

Obviously, the only explanation for this is so that Stanley could fondly tilt Xeno's head up towards him in the following pages.

Stan's new outfit makes him look less imposing and inhuman than his previous one, and instead mimics the buttons on the the front of a double-breasted military jacket.

The double "V" of his belt buckles could be the zig-zag of the American clothing, or it's two halves of an X.

(Conspiracies for the belt buckle, don't take these seriously:

a marker that he's loyal to Xeno

a simplification of the current KoS crossed-rockets flag

V + V = X

"V" for victory)

Stanley's scar is still here, but it's changed slightly: the line across the bridge of his nose is gone.

However it may fully disappear soon, since he'll be petrified on the rocket. This change will likely mark his atonement.

This is a brand new lighter based off the one Stanley had before they got petrified. For most of the Americas arc he simply used matches, apart from the "gag" lighter that looks like his handgun.

The math checks out.

This is, in fact, Stanley and Senku's first conversation (if you can even call this one).

Before now, Senku's never allowed Stanley to get close enough, and they never communicated directly over the radios either.

All Ryusui has wanted since he was a child was to make one of his models a reality and to pilot it himself, along with the help of his brother Sai.

Now, he's forced to sacrifice that dream for the greater good.

Sai knows this, which is why he's shown in the same room Ryusui was (across the table from him? In the same seat? It doesn't seem to be the same window, but the rocket is aligned the same.)

It looks like Stan does say the exact same thing: "dekiru ne", which literally translates to "I can". The "ne" at the end is used as a form of agreement, similar to saying "right?" in English. I sort of wish it was translated the same...
