This is what I do but like. They're older and things are Messed Up in different ways but also sort of better?

>Bea is with Mae and they kinda help each other. Even though Bea took her dad being in that cult really hard. Emotional abuse is a bitch, but Bea's able to not forget it, but overcome it. Bea being with Mae also helps Bea's fear of being left behind

>Mae probably goes back to college with some good recovery time, thank god for that honestly. Still struggles. Has some bad days, but Bea helps with that, and she has actual coping mechanisms if Bea is having a bad day her own self.

>en short there's a lot of collaborative healing. Bea still has issues with bottling stuff up and not telling anybody, Mae too, but they're working on it

>Gregg and Angus moving to Bright Harbor and having an actual queer community was really good for them. They're able to be happier, and even though it's more expensive it's worth it for the environment. Gregg prolly got somethin' to help with his bipolar

Personas in the Woods: Social Links - Overview

Rather than forming relationships with characters that represent specific arcana in their lives and personal struggles, the Social Links in PitW would instead be a formative experience for Mae herself.

For example, with Gregg as the Magician Arcana, his Social Link won't involve Mae helping him through the struggle of immaturity, but rather Gregg showing Mae that they can't stay kids who break light poles forever. Just like in the original NitW, Gregg's route involves Mae realizing that Gregg and Angus are planning on moving on, and that they can't stay the same immature kids anymore.

Mae, being a deeply flawed individual herself, will be the one subject to change and learning through her Social Links, essentially taking on every arcana herself until the ending, when she would receive The World, and her final arcana.

That isn't to say that the person related to the Social Link can't grow themselves too, but this won't just be like the other games where the protagonist only watches/helps the person.

Mae Borowski x Artist!Reader Headcanons

Admittedly the artist tag isn't super important, but it gets mentioned. Also, yippee, new NITW fan content for people to enjoy. Speaking of, hope you enjoy!

• Long story short: you met your girlfriend Mae Borowski at the Ham Panther and she's been clinging to you since.

• Long story long is that you two met while at work.

• Well, while you were at work. She's still working on the whole job thing.

• You were a cashier, and you usually kept to yourself.

• One guy however, Stan, was fairly nice, and even though he kinda brute forced a friendship, you two actually got along.

• One day his wife and daughter came in for, well, you don't really remember why.

• You do remember that they went to talk to you too, though. You also remember the sense of recognition that crossed your mind when you saw the daughter.

• Even though you didn't really live in town, you knew about the Borowskis

• Although a more accurate sentence would be that you knew about Mae Borowski.

• You were a year ahead of her in school, if you remember correctly, but you still heard all the rumors.

• You also heard about... the incident.

• In all fairness, you never liked the guy, but...

• Mae seemed fine now though. More stable, at least.

• Mae didn't say much, but Mrs. Borowski was actually pretty nice. She even invited you over for dinner one night.

• Eventually you had customers to help and the two of you had to part ways, but it was a nice couple of minutes.

• You did go over to dinner eventually, and it was a fun time.

• It was a tad weird how Stan and Candy, as she insisted you called her, ever so slightly teased Mae throughout dinner, but hey, that's just how parents are sometimes.

• As the night went on the conversation turned to you, and you ended up admitting you were a freelance artist.

• That made Mae's ears perk up.

• She asked some questions about your work, speaking more than she had throughout almost the whole night.

• So, you gave her an answer. Mae was particularly interested when you mentioned album art and band merchandise.

• Turned out that she was actually in a band herself.

• One thing led to another and after eating you ended up sitting in her room, listening as she played bass.

• From then on, you were invited to all band practices.

• Mae also became very close with you as well, becoming more and more talkative.

• It was after Mae left band rehearsal that her friends explained why she was so quiet at first, and why she warmed up to you super fast.

• Yeah, thinking back on it, you probably should've realized she had a thing for you, especially seeing how much she talks normally compared to when you two first met.

• You'd be lying if you said you didn't think she was cute.

• And funny.

• And amazing.

• And now you're knocking on her door and asking Mae on a date.

• Get ready for the chaos, because it'll be coming soon.
