the most important lesson that star trek can teach us is that even the utopian ideal of star trek can't be achieved in star trek if you keep expecting a finish line. There is no point we can achieve and then just be done working for, done evolving and learning and striving for. the federation is a utopia in that it keeps working towards and learning how to be a utopia. yeah, some of that is a doyalist "because we as real people keep working towards and learning how to be a utopia," but it's also because of the watsonian fact that the federation are people, and people are never done learning or adding complications or ideas to society so long as society exists.

Recently rediscovered my love of voyager and wanted to go back and reread some of the fandom greats. I’ve devoured the ones you have on ao3 (all wonderful btw) and was hoping you have plans to add lisaof9’s sometime in the future. I’d love to have another read of ‘She who hesitates is lost’.

(I know it’s hosted on the wonderful Femalash treasure trove that is Ralst/Passion and Perfection but unfortunately it’s currently coming up as an unsecure site so I’m reluctant to risk accessing it.)
