——————————————————————————
The late afternoon breeze blew gently, ruffling the leaves on the trees and pushing the clouds across the sky lazily. Azure skies were slowly dimming, welcoming the pink and orange to come.
“Papa…” The toddler’s steps faltered.
He looked down at his daughter. “Hn?”
“Look…there’s a kitty.” Her small hand closed around his finger a little tighter and she stopped in her tracks. Her dark eyes were wide, chubby cheeks rosy.
Sasuke turned back and saw a black kitten by the side of the road, meowing. His daughter turned to look at him. “Can I touch it?”
How could he say no when she was looking at him that way?
“I promise. I’ll just pat it.”
“Okay.” Sasuke still held on to her hand, walking over to the side of the road and approaching the kitten. It shrank back for a moment but continued to meow at them.
Sarada let go of his hand and crouched down slowly, looking at the kitten.
The meowing settled a bit, and the little girl extended her hand towards the kitten. The meowing ceased just as her hand touched its little head. Instead, the kitty started purring, rubbing its head on Sarada’s hand.
“Ooh…” Her eyes widened further, cheeks flushing darker. She turned her gaze over to Sasuke. “Papa…”
She didn’t even need to continue talking for him to know what she would ask of him. Sasuke swallowed. The cat looked abandoned, with no collar around its neck. Certainly young enough to have survived on its own, but too young to be sure to make it by itself for long. He contemplated how his wife might react bringing a stray home… it certainly wouldn’t be the first. The responsibility of caring for it also crossed his mind.
He had made his decision.
“Sarada,” Sasuke started gently.
Tears were already filling her yes. “P—Please!” She begged, already knowing her father would turn down her request. “I will take—take care of it!” Sarada quickly picked up the kitty in her arms, the poor animal looked surprised but didn’t struggle in her hold. Her lower lip trembled, tears flowing freely as she continued to beg her father to keep it.
He took a deep breath and let it out slowly. Sasuke could never say no to his cute little peanut.
.
.
.
“We’re home.” Sasuke had barely finished speaking as his daughter kicked off her shoes and hurried into their home. Her little footsteps echoed along the halls, and his wife’s voice soon carried over.
“Welcome home—”
“—Mama, look!” Sarada held the kitten up in her arms, a wide smile on her face. She got up on her tiptoes and raised the kitten higher for her mother to get a better look. “Look, look! Isn’t she so cute?” She beamed. “She was so scared and all alone but I saved her!”
Sakura blinked for a moment before putting on a wide smile on her face and stroked her daughter’s hair. “How brave of you, Darling.”
Sarada’s cheeks flushed, responding to her mother’s praise. “I’m going to take good care of you,” she announced to the kitten in her arms and proceeded to walk into the living room, still talking to the cat.
Sasuke walked up to his wife and stood next to her, studying her features. Emerald eyes turned to him, a little crease in her brow.
“Sasuke-kun…” Her voice was soft, hesitant.
“She said she would take care of it,” he replied.
Sakura sighed. “You mean you will.”
He smirked. “Maybe. But this could be a good learning experience for Sarada. It would teach her to be responsible.”
She hummed and peeked at her daughter.
Sarada was now sitting on the floor, dangling a bunch of keys over the kitten’s head, giggling at how it tried to take the key with its paw.
A soft smile slowly bloomed on Sakura’s face. “I guess it’s okay for us to have a pet.” Turning to her husband, her soft smile turned into a teasing grin. “You’ve been wanting one too, right?”
It was barely visible, but he was sure his wife noticed the small pout on his lips. “Hn.”
Sakura giggled and gently tapped his cheek. “You go on and join her. Dinner is almost ready. I’ll be out with a bowl of milk for the cat in a while.”
He nodded and walked over to the living room. Sasuke sat on the rug next to Sarada, who was dragging the keys around, squealing in delight as the kitten chased and pounced on the keys. His daughter started running around the room jingling the keys in her hand as the cat followed her. Her joyful squeals filled the house. Sasuke’s lips quirked upward, a gentle warmth blooming in his chest.
Sakura walked out of the kitchen, bringing a bowl of milk. Seeing her, Sasuke stood and watched Sarada drop the keys on the floor. The cat pounced on them, and Sarada wasted no time capturing the cat in her arms. The cat meowed loudly but did not fuss. Sasuke carried Sarada, the little girl beaming at her father. She was having so much fun, and he was glad.
“Sarada, I think your kitty wants a drink.” Sakura smiled, holding out the bowl.
Sarada held onto her cat and slowly extended her arms towards her mama. Sasuke stepped closer to allow the cat to drink the milk.
His daughter settled down, a calm and satisfied smile on her face as she watched the cat drink. Sasuke and Sakura exchanged a look before turning their attention back to their daughter.
The next few hours were not easy for the young couple. Sarada was usually a well-behaved child, never fussing too much when it was time for bed. But in the presence of a new family member, which she had named Neko-chan, Sarada refused to admit she was tired. Sakura had successfully given her a bath, dressed her, and made her brush her teeth, but when it came to bedtime, she refused to stay in bed.
“Mama!” She cried, the covers falling around her tiny waist as she sat up. “Neko-chan might be cold!. Can’t she sleep here with me?”
Sasuke stood by the doorframe, watching his wife soothe their daughter. She was stroking her dark hair, keeping her voice soft as she explained that her precious kitty was fine and already sleeping in the living room. The toddler cried, giving reasons to her mother as to why Neko-chan should be sleeping in her room.
“Mama, Neko-chan wants to sleep here!”
“Sweetie, she is already sleeping in the living room, Sakura reassured, again.
Sarada pouted and tried to look past Sakura, towards the door. "But, if she wakes up, she’ll be scared! I think so!” The toddler argued, pretty upset with the idea that the kitten was not going to stay with her overnight.
Sakura kept her voice kind, and after a few minutes, she managed to successfully convince Sarada to lie back down and close her eyes.
He walked over to the living room, leaving his girls to settle down without his distracting presence. Sasuke moved around, cleaning up the mess from Sarada’s playtime and picked up a book. He had only read a few sentences before his wife joined him, looking tired but relieved that Sarada finally went to sleep.
“She’s knocked out, though I really didn’t want to leave her,” Sakura said. “She really wanted Neko-chan to sleep in her room.”
Sasuke’s gaze drifted to the cat sleeping in the corner, curled up in the blanket that he had placed inside a box for it. “She’s already asleep, and so is Sarada. Maybe tomorrow, after we bring the cat to the vet.”
His wife nodded and agreed to meet them at the vet, after her shift. Sakura left for the bathroom, leaving Sasuke to relax with his books.
After reading a few chapters, he heard Sakura move to their bedroom, and Sasuke put his book away. He noticed the cat stretch and then jump out of the box, quietly walking down the hall and pause at the crack of Sarada’s bedroom door. His brow quirked, and he followed the cat. When he peeked into the room, he saw the cat meow quietly at Sarada but she did not even stir.
Sasuke contemplated taking the cat away, in fear of Sarada waking. But when the cat jumped up to the foot of the bed and circled around a few times before settling down to sleep, he changed his mind. He leaned on the door frame, a soft smile on his face as he watched them sleep together.
“There you are.” Sakura came from behind and kissed his shoulder. “Did Sarada wake up?”
“No.” Sasuke turned and walked with his wife to their bedroom. “She’s asleep, and we should be too.”
Sakura agreed and got into bed, wrapping her arms around him. Sasuke had some thoughts swimming around his mind before he finally fell asleep, but being with his family, and his wife had him thinking of how nice it was to be found and belong.

SSS Weekend
Day One: Early years. Slice of life.
Rating: K
Word Count: 1k
Home
If only every day could be so exceptionally blissful.
That was a thought that fleetingly flitted through Sasuke Uchiha’s mind on occasion—whenever he was doing nothing more than admiring his wife or his daughter.
Or, better yet, both of them.
So many things had happened to lead him to where he now was: a father, a husband, a man who had finally accepted love and wished to surround himself in it. His friends—his family. Being home. These simple things truly meant the world to him.
Sarada was a precious child, bringing even more joy to his days than Sakura could… and Sakura was otherworldly in the way she could bring light into the darkness that had been surrounding him for so long. Even from doing little to nothing, or things that seemed miniscule when he thought about it, his wife could have the most sincerest of smiles forming on his lips. She could make his heart skip a beat.
She could fluster him.
Sasuke knew he had always loved her, though it hadn’t been the same as the love he felt for her now. At first it was a simple affection brought about from their bond—their closeness as a team—as friends. Sakura Haruno had been a precious person who was irreplaceable to him ever since the early days of team seven forming.
The dark times, when he’s tried to forget her and everyone else that he cared about in order to shroud himself in an endless abyss of lonely darkness were days that he didn’t care to look back on anymore. He much preferred the days after that, when he had accepted the right way of life and had spent his days repenting for his sins and opening his eyes to the world for what it truly was so that he could open his heart properly to Sakura.
Then he married her.
Before that, their travels together began—when he slowly opened up to her more and more, letting her in and slowly came to love her on a much deeper, more intimate level. When soft hand touches became comforting hugs and eventually soft, heartfelt kisses that turned to even more.
After making her his wife, Sasuke had felt like a new man—even beyond how he’d felt since making so many changes in his life.
The changes in him only became more prominent after learning that Sakura was carrying his child. It was the first time since the end of his battle with Naruto that Sasuke had cried. However, he cried again when his beautiful baby girl was born.
It was a highly emotional time. Sasuke was beyond grateful to Karin for being there to help Sakura through the birthing process because he had probably never been more nervous in his life. He had worried endlessly for her, even though her labor wasn’t as long as most first time mothers—or so Sakura had told him.
He wished she hadn’t had to experience the pain she had, but he knew she meant it when she said it was well worth it—that she had forgotten the pain the instant Sarada had been laid over her chest. That was the moment the tears formed in his eyes and he could only remain silent, pressing a kiss to Sakura’s head and staring at the sweet angel that connected them.
Sasuke could only hope that both of them knew how much they meant to him.
Over the course of the next few years, he did his best to show them. Being by their sides, watching Sarada grow and reach one milestone after the next with his wife by his side was all that he could ask for.
But the bliss he had come to love and crave wasn’t meant to last forever. His family was the most precious thing in the world to him and he had a duty to protect them. So, when the time came for him to leave them in order to make sure they were safe, Sasuke resolved himself to do just that.
It wasn’t easy.
In fact, it was the hardest thing he’d ever had to do. Preparing himself to leave them wasn’t even possible. As much as they tried to hold it together, to be strong for one another—especially Sarada—it just wasn’t possible. Sakura was an amazing, beautiful and strong woman whom he adored, but she loved him from the bottom of his heart. Knowing he was leaving and having no idea when he would see his girls again was painful. It hurt so much—seeing Sakura’s bottom lip begin to tremble and soon, a stream of tears fall down her cheeks was enough to crack the last of his restraint.
It only hurt worse at seeing the look of innocent curiosity on Sarada’s face as she looked between the two of them. Sasuke had taken a shaky breath and leaned down to press a soft kiss to his wife’s forehead. She did her best to swallow a sob and whispered out a broken “I love you.” before Sasuke gave Sarada a kiss just the same.
She called out to him when he turned his back to them and began to walk away. It was the first time he had to leave them and with every step he took, his heart shattered a little more.
That day was another of the ones where Sasuke broke down and cried, but he knew he was doing the right thing. He knew that as long as his girls were safe, they would be happy as well.
And one day, he could return to that exceptional bliss that meant so much to him.
Home.

SHARINGAN | A SasuSakuSara Drabble
For SasuSakuSara Weekend 2020 | @sasusakusara2020
Day One: Early Years/Slice Of Life
(but it's more like early years/slice of life after Sasuke's permanent return😁)
---
Another WIP that I'm leaving as is🙊 Decided to post it now for SasuSakuSara Weekend 2020. Enjoy!✨
- A
---
"Sarada, use your sharingan."
The young Uchiha shot an alarmed look at her father, brows furrowed in confusion and anxiety that there could be another set of attackers near them.
As if reading her mind, Sasuke shook his head with a ghost of smile on his lips. "We're completely safe. Trust me. Now, use your sharingan."
Still staring at her father with bemusement written all over her face, she complied, and immediately, her eyes turned to a glowing red.
"Look at your mother."
"Eh?" Sarada cocked her head to one side, much to Sasuke's amusement.
"Go. And then tell me what you see."
Blinking twice, she shifted her gaze to her mother's sleeping form. What now? She thought, slowly observing the flow of chakra on her mother's system because it's the only thing she could focus on considering that her mother wasn't even moving.
There was nothing entirely different with what she usually sees through the Sharingan on her mom's body. She was almost about to pout and question her father until she suddenly noticed a tiny flame of chakra somewhere within Sakura's stomach. It was faint yet noticeable, and she knew it shouldn't be there, unless —
A gasp escaped from her lips as she tried to put a finger on the discovery. "Papa! Is...is mama..."
Sasuke's smile grew a tad, confirming the forming conclusion in his daughter's head.
She gasped once again. "Seriously? Oh my gosh! I'm going to have a baby brother! Or a sister! Papa, I can't wai–!"
"Ssshh. You might wake Sakura." Sasuke found it amusing to see how his firstborn was giddy with delight knowing that there would be a new addition to their family.

Prompt: In Another World
SSS Weekend
SasuSaku Zombie AU drabble

“Shit!”
Grinding his teeth, Sasuke gripped the Magnum tucked in his combats. The door shuddered behind his weight as the things thudded against the door. He could hear them scratching at the hardwood, gurgling, retching, wailing. Hooking a table leg with his foot, he levered himself using the handle to swing his body round to slam the object against the entrance in his stead.
He’s scared.
Sasuke Uchiha’s life has been nothing but brutal from the day he turned eight. He had seen death, witnessed the life leave his parent's eyes whilst he sat helplessly. He had taken lives, slaughtering hundreds of people in the line of duty – blood flowed in his wake. Destruction became normality for years until he met his team…and Sakura. Sasuke cursed as he turned his attention to the woman  he’d unceremoniously deposited on floor in his rush to blockade them in the room. Bending down he hooked her neck in the crook of his arm, curving her body into his chest. Sasuke scanned her torso, his eyes darting to the crimson stained linen he wrapped around her stomach in an effort to stem the bleeding.
“Shit, shit, shit…” Sasuke whispered each curse emphasised buy the panic building as he assessed the damage.  Sakura had drifted into unconsciousness half an hour after the initial onslaught of the herd attack. A supply run into the city was a bad idea from the start and he should have listened to his gut. But the deadlast, ever the optimist, insisted it was necessary. ‘You’ll be fine, your too much of an asshole to die and Sakura-chan is smart.’ Naruto’s words echoed.
Famous last words. Sasuke vowed to give the blonde a fat lip when they returned to base.
“You can’t fucking die on me,” He spat the words at her, unable to contain his anger “you hear me?!” Fate seemed to love singling him out as the ‘lucky’ soul who lost precious people.
Not this time. Sasuke was not willing to give her up and as Sakura reminded him constantly – he’s a selfish, possessive bastard. Shifting her weight, he placed a kiss on her forehead not minding the mingled sweat and dirt. Finding comfort in the warmth of her body through his cracked lips, he hauled her dead weight into his arms.  There was no sign of a fever, Sasuke wouldn’t call himself a man of faith but at that moment, he said a silent prayer. Shooting her would be his last mission. He could not desecrate her memory and allow her to become a mindless flesh-eating creature. Plus finding the strength to continue living in this shithole without her – not going to happen.
Sasuke planned to die with dignity beside her if their options ran out.
The undead are relentless in their drive to feed on flesh, they could smell her wound. It needed to be cauterised, but it was not an option in the current conditions. Sasuke sees the splinters appearing in the wood in his periphery, mentally giving them 5 minutes to escape. Marching to the window he paused, the old water mill had a stunning view. He could see rooftops and rolling hills in the far distance.  He could follow the river upwards into the countryside if he found a boat and prevent the undead following her scent.
“Sa..suke..” Sakura croaked, the syllables barely forming. Seafoam eyes gazed up at him under drooping lids, her skin a worrying shade of grey.
“I’m sor-“ Cold fingers raised to trace the straight bridge of his nose to his brow and brushing strands of hair from his face.
“Shut up.” Cutting her off sharply, Sasuke yanked the window up with such force it cracked a glass panel. No apologies are required, she is a doctor not a soldier. He never expected her to keep up with his stamina or his expertise in killing.
“We’re leaving,” He jumped. Survivors didn’t get to play safe in this hellscape.
-x-
It’s been a long ass time since I've written and even longer since I’ve written for the SS fandom.  I hope you like my entry for SSS weekend. I love apocolyptic scenarios, so I had to participate with the AU prompt haha.

Modern AU: in another world
EVEN IN A DIFFERENT WORLD, THEIR LOVE IS THE SAME.
Sakura pushed the door and walked into their house.  The house she shared with her husband and their beautiful baby. It was late and sakura was tired after a long shift. As an attending cardiologist Sakura often worked long and busy shifts at the hospital. Letting out a deep sigh she unstrapped her shoes and stepped into the living area.
Normally, she would return to home and see their babysitter Karin in the living room watching TV, or with Sarada in her arms. But she wasn’t in the living room tonight. Maybe she was putting the baby to sleep. Sakura pressed the hells of her palm against her eyes rubbing them softly as she walked up the stairs making her way to Sarada’s nursery. She really needed to see her baby. She needed to hold her. sakura found that holding her daughter, rocking her to sleep was the best thing in her life. sakura loved how all her worries and tensions vanishes as soon as she holds her daughter in her arms, no matter how much of hard day she had.
If Sarada was awake she would take the baby and let Karin have the rest of her night. Maybe she would feed her a little and sing her a lullaby. Or she would tell her about her day and play with her beautiful black curls. So much, she wanted to do much with her.
Her trains of thoughts came to a stop when she heard a soft humming from Sarada’s room. The door of the room was open and her eyes widened as she realized it wasn’t the sweet voice of Karin. The voice was different. manly. But the hum was soft and relaxing. And she knew that hum. A soft smile appeared on her face and she picked up her pace. it wasn’t everyday her husband finished his meetings with clients and come home before her.
Stopping in front of the door, she leaned against the door frame. sasuke was walking across the room, rocking the baby in his hand as he hummed Sarada’s favorite lullaby. He played with the babe’s hair and looked up at Sakura. A soft smile adorned his face and sakura walked to them singing softly with sasuke’s hum.
sun goes down, and we are here together
Fireflies glows like a thousand charms
Stay with me and you can dream forever
Right here in my arms~
Turning back to Sarada in his hands sasuke continued to hum the tune. Sakura leaned against sasuke’s hand and ran her fingers along sleeping Sarada’s hair.
It’s magic when you are here beside me
Close your eyes and let me hold you tight.
Everything that I could ever need is
Right here in my arms
Tonight~
She wrapped a hand around Sasuke’s waist and leaned down to press her lips on Sarada’s forehead, which she clearly got from her. leaning down sasuke pressed a kiss into Sakura’s hair, his smile never vanishing from his face. Letting out a content sigh, sakura took the baby from sasuke’s arms to put her in the crib.
“When did you come home?” She asked placing small pillows around the baby who was sleeping peacefully.
“Almost an hour ago.” Sasuke wrapped his hands around her and kissed the back of her neck softly. Giggling softly sakura turned around and brushed her lips against her husband’s softly.
“Did she make a fuss?”
“No. she is a good girl.”
“Hmm. you hungry Mr.Uchiha?”
“Starving honey.”
“Good. Chinese, Italian?”
“Pizza.”
