What kind of headcanons do people have about living on Jorvik?

Like what kind of tradition do you think jorvikians have?

How do you think religion work? What are common school subjects? What kind of food is common jorvikian meal? What would make turist go "thats wierd", "thats interesting" or "thats cool"?Ect, ect.

I love to hear what people think Jorvik would be like.

SSO MAGIC SYSTEM (unofficial/speculation) 4 main magic families:

1. LIGHT MAGIC Alignment: Good (wants to help others) Attributes: life, healing, warmth, soul power Creatures: Aetherians (Aideen, Fripp) Magic users: Druids (they use a mix of Light and Earth magic)

2. EARTH MAGIC Alignment: Neutral (can be used for both good and evil) Attributes: nature, weather, plants and animals, entrophy, reality (can’t coexist with Pandorian- just for a short time) Creatures: Earthlings (humans) Magic users: Witches (only use Earth magic: Mrs Holdsworth, Pi, Sive, Sedna, Uyarak)

3. PANDORIA MAGIC Alignment: Neutral (can be used for both good and evil) Attributes: time and space, illusions, transformation, unreality (can’t coexist with Earth- just in bubbles) Creatures: Pandorians (Ydris) Magic users: Sorcerers (only use Pandorian magic)

4. VOID MAGIC Alignment: Evil (wants to harm others) Attributes: death, darkness, cold, decay, corruption. Creatures: Umbrasians (Garnok, shadow seekers) Magic users: Warlocks (Mr Sands, Darko)

Soul Riders: Light, Earth and Pandorian magic Dark Riders: Void, Earth and Pandorian magic MC: half earthling, half pandorian, free to choose between Light and Void

Based on these- the Lore:

1. On Pandoria -> Garnok is an umbrasian creature, came from the Void, to corrupt and conquer. -> Creatures of light, the aetherians, like Fripp and Aideen, fight the umbrasians. -> Garnok attacks Pandoria, Fripp comes to help them -> Umbrasians are defeated, but corruption remains in Pandoria -> G is put on a ship to be taken to imprisonment, but the corrupted free him

2. On Earth, before Garnok’s imprisonment -> Aideen is another aetherian, arrived on Jorvik, brought life to the island -> Garnok’s ship crashes on Jorvik, Aideen fights the darkness, but can’t win alone -> The good pandorians meet Aideen, join Light, Earth and Pandorian magic to fight Garnok -> They create the ultimate weapon: the Soul Riders -> Garnok does the same: combines Void, Earth and Pandorian to create Dark Riders -> The SRs win, imprison Garnok and his followers at the bottom of the sea -> Aideen used too much of her power in the war, her soul disperses on the island

3. On Earth, after Garnok’s imprisonment -> Garnok’s power keeps seeping out, corrupting Jorvik -> The soul of Aideen the SRs’ and DRs’ all reincarnate-> The Keepers of Aideen and the Soul Riders safeguard the island -> The Dark Riders and corrupted always try to free him -> Many sisterhoods rise and fall, fighting the darkness -> Garnok’s awakening comes ever closer -> Aideen’s power also awakens, her soul reincarnates into the 5th Soul Rider

I should reblog my headcanons because I don't remember what number I was on and I wrote those years ago.

Pandoric writing headcanons! Plural because it's little ones!

The Pandoric written language can be read in any direction. Left to right, right to left, and vertically. Like Egyptian hieroglyphics, the direction the symbol is facing indicates the direction it should be read in (and if it is in columns or rows).

The symbols function as a number system, alphabet, and mean concepts/objects. Like Futhark runes. A single sentence can use all three, and the reader has to figure out which are meant to be numbers, letters, and picto/ideograms.

Pandoria is a place of dreams. Because of this, Pandorian writing is difficult to look at. Like writing in dreams the average person glosses over the visual details. A person might "read" in a dream, the dreamer knows what is in a book or what a street sign says, but when they try to really read it gets difficult, often taking them out of the dream. Most people experience a similar sensation when they see Pandoric writing, their eyes slide over it and they can't recall what it looked like.

that's all for now, maybe I have something I'm forgetting, maybe I'll come up with something more. Maybe I'll throw this all out the window in a year! But if I keep this headcanon for more than 12 months it'll be longer than some of SSO's actual canon shhh

I like to headcanon that there’s a kind of energy around Calamity and Ydris that just feels a little bit off to everyone else, but no one knows why because they don’t exactly encounter Pandorians every day.

I imagine its like the global chat.

Pretty bad to non-existance out in nature.

But work well enough to great inside villages and towns.

But theres places where pandorian energy are high and phones are pretty much useless.

Not just for calling. But even taking photos will glitch out and the time on the phone will go faster or slower.

I imagine the druids dont use cell phones because of the hollow woods makes cellphones glitchy.

They do have landlines in Valedale that works. The sound can be bit wierd at times but you can receive and make calls.

But they rather rely on squirrels.

You know what I love about Sabine? How people interpret her.

Because I know that some North American players sees her as Native American. I know that others see her as Hispanic or a Latina.

Me? I come from Australia so lotta Oceania influences in my own culture so I like the thought of her being Aboriginal or Māori (two countries close to my heart). I did show her to my Pinoy friends when I was doing a drawing and they totally adopted her so that’s another headcanon I’ve developed.

Cus she’s so…ambiguous not just in terms of character design but also of her background. Skin colour and favourite food doesn’t always equate to culture/ethnicity.

TLDR: Sabine truly is for the world and I love her for that.

THE JORVEGIAN TERRIER - an extract from The Kennel Club website "Affectionately known as Jorvies, the Jorvegian Terrier is a small but resilient dog breed developed on Jorvik in the mid 19th century. Though their exact origins are unknown, some dogs have ancestry traceable back to imported Swedish Vallhunds, and also to the same founding dogs that were simultaneously developing the Yorkshire Terrier breed in England. They were developed by the -at the time- Lord Silverglade as a riding companion, mouser, and all-round multipurpose breed. Jorvies come in a wide range of colours, and indeed none are excluded from breed standards with the exception of double merle, which can lead to health issues in these small dogs as with other dog breeds. Blue eyes are not out of standard, and are in fact more common than brown. Judges of this particular breed look for a dished face with a small, straight muzzle; upright ears; alert, well-set eyes; a deep strong chest; and a plumed tail carried in line or lower than the back. Im gonna take it into my belief that Jorvik has really local weather system.

If there is a storm of any kind or rain. Its often in one small area at a time.

Is it raining, just travel to the next village and there will be no rain.

And if there is a snow storm, people will instead try to get out of the area instead of looking for shelter

SABINE CLAYMORE Dark Rider Malumi (The Black Knight)

Horse: Kaahn (warmblood) Powers: Fire Circle (Anti-Lightning) -> Fire and Nullification. Energy absorbing fire against Alex’s lightning attacks. Alex's rival.

Role: Strong guy/Fighter of the 5-man band Flaw: Envy and Wrath. Her hot temper can be used against her. Personality: She’s angry, malicious and a hothead. Inferiority complex. She is often sent against the SRs to do the fighting, often used as a simple minion and she hates it. She thinks she’s stronger, cleverer and better, than the other DRs, while at the same time being envious of them, because she knows she isn’t. Argues with the other DRs even when on a mission. Wants: to prove herself. To defeat the SRs alone, so she can prove, she is the strongest DR.

Backstory: always envious. Only daughter of the rich and prestigious Claymore family. A spoiled and jealous horse girl, who tried to be the best in every discipline, and bought her way into success whenever she could. The only ones who could defeat her were Lisa and Linda and she will forever hate them because of that. But her true rival is Alex. Hobbies: mischief and petty crimes, making others frustrated, getting them into trouble. She is happy when others are not. Discipline: Eventing (that’s why she raced both Lisa and Linda) consists of cross-country, showjumping and dressage.

KATJA HELBERG   Dark Rider Stiria (The Ice Witch)

Horse: Tyrann (arabian) Powers: Frost Circle (Anti-Moon) -> Frost, Ice and Manipulation. While Linda’s visions show the truth, Katja makes Illusions that are Lies. Linda's rival.

Role: Smart guy/Scout of the 5-man band Flaw: Arrogant and Cold, can’t understand love. Her arrogance can be used against her. Personality: A cold and calculating manipulator, planner, master of Lies. The most dangerous beside Elise. Afraid of her, but won’t admit it. No petty quarrel with the others, she knows her importance. Wants: to control everything. Obsession with controlling and leading the Dark Riders, especially after Elise’s arrival. Wants to prove, that love only gets in the way, it is a hindrance.

Backstory: was betrayed. Norvegian father, kallter mother. She lived with the Kallters in the Dino Valley, inherited her mother’s nature powers, but got corrupted by the forces of darkness. Since she was born with white hair, the kallters always thought she was cursed, but her mother insisted she’s good. After an incident got blamed on her, she got into an argument with ther mother, and she finally gave in to the pressure and said Katja’s bad. Katja ran away into the night in the snowstorm, almost froze to death, but got saved by dark magic and recruited to the dark side. She returned to the village days later, and instead of defending the people from the cold, she unleashed her ice powers and froze the valley. The cold lingers in there ever since, even though the rest of jorvik is warm.   Hobbies: to use her frost powers and cause harm with it (freeze flowers, small animals and such). Likes to prove, that people are cruel and cold and love is a lie. Discipline: Endurance riding. Although normal Arabians are heat and not cold tolerant, Tyrann is just like Katja: doesn’t feel the cold.  

JESSICA JET Dark Rider Umbra (The Dark Princess)

Horse: Erebos (friesian) Powers: Shadow Circle (Anti-Sun) -> Shadow powers and Banishment. Summons shadow seekers to fight for her, when they steal a person’s soul, she locks them in Pandoria. Anne's rival.

Role: Lancer of the 5-man band (to Katja) Flaw: Pride and Hatred. Her hate for Katja can be used to make her help the good guys. Personality: Hates Anne more than anything, since Concorde kicked her back into Garnok’s prison in SSL 3. Short-tempered, proud and hateful. Does little fighting, her minions fight instead of her. Rivalry with Katja, thinks she is better, than her, even though Katja always outdoes her. Wants: to defeat others. To prove that she is better, than Katja, wants to humiliate and defeat Anne.

Backstory: was defeated by Anne. Jordan Jet’s lost daughter, disappeared years ago, causing her to leave the island of Jorvik in grief. Many years later she returned (in Spring Rider) to pursue her dream of leading a dressage stable. She organizes the Rockville – Beauvista – Bayridge triangle in the Spring Valley, when her long-lost daughter shows up again- but on the side of evil. Hobbies: fashion and modelling. Since Anne is also into fashion, Jess wants to beat her in every way she can. They are rivals in the modelling world also. Discipline: Dressage. Picked it up after she was first defeated by Anne. Got her Dark Horse and trained to one day finally humiliate Anne in her own discipline.

ELISE SAMASSA Dark Rider Nihili (The Night Huntress)

Horse: Acheron (Rocky Mountains horse) Powers: Darkness Circle (Anti-Star) -> Discord, Darkness and Destruction. Opposite of Lisa’s trust and healing powers, Elise only destroys and corrupts. Lisa's rival.

Role: Leader/Heart of the 5-man band (keeps them together, working for the singular goal) Flaw: absolute cruelty, even towards her fellow DRs. Gets rid of anything and anyone that's not useful anymore to her. Their fear of Elise can be used against her. Personality: Has an unsettling energy about her. Doesn’t have family, doesn’t have friends, doesn’t have weaknesses, doesn’t bargain, just destroys her enemies like a force of nature. Even the other minions of Garnok are afraid of her. Wants: to win. To achieve total victory over the forces of good. Obsessed with winning always.

Backstory: very mysterious. To be the perfect soldier in the service of Garnok, she removed everything from her life, that could hinder her. No attachments, no family, just the sheer focus on the mission. Doesn’t play around, her only goal is to defeat the forces of good, doesn’t matter who or what she has to destroy. Discipline: Racing. Hobbies: power-lifting, strength training, airsoft.

WWX: has the capability to be a pro equestrian in pretty much any field he chooses, but rarely competes and prefers to host riding lessons for kids and do trail rides with Suibian instead. Usually rides bareback

LWJ: dressage and English showjumping pro. Famous for composing his own music for his routines. His secret desire is for Wei Ying and Suibian to perform a routine he choreographed

JC: also a pro showjumper because of his family's legacy but yearns for a career in barrel racing. He most often uses an inherited heirloom western saddle from his mom and Zidian loathes to wear anything except for it. Enjoys trail riding with wwx, but isn't very good at hosting classes or rides for beginners

NHS: was expected to carry on the Nie family's history of combined driving, but his heart horse is a dinky little pony. Pretty much only does short trail rides because he claims he gets too sore from long ones. Has taught his pony a lot of random circus tricks though, jumping through hoops is her favorite

─♣️─ Lackadaisy : Lacka-Lacy !

⸝⸝ tl;dr : lacy hardt has been on my mind recently, and after trying and failing to draw her properly i decided to make some general headcanons for her instead !

Despite being Wick's coffee fairy, Lacy doesn't like coffee at all. Or, well, she used to, but after drinking too much coffee after running on no sleep for ages and then suffering a day's worth of being locked in the bathroom,, let's just say she doesn't really want to drink coffee on a regular anymore. And if ever she does drink coffee, she prefers it with lots of milk and as sweet as she could take. And she'd want some cookies nearby as well, to munch on between sips.

She likes tea, actually ! Lemon tea, specifically, with honey in it. Or if that's not available, just plain water with lemon slices in it. She's not against sipping on lemonade during her breaks, either.

Speaking of,,, Lacy feel like a citrus girlie to me. I feel like she'd like anything with citrus in it. Especially lemons. Oh yeah, she loves lemons. Lemon cake, lemon cookies, lemon pie, the whole shtick. I daresay she likes to snack on lemons too, without juicing it or anything. She hates grapefruit though. She'd rather be held hostage than eat a single grapefruit. She says it's because of how messy it gets, but really I think she just hates the taste :skull:

And adding on to the point above ! I feel like she likes the color yellow (surprise, surprise). And turquoise. To her it's a really pretty color combination, and it reminds her of summertime,,, with freshly cut oranges in a cold metal bowl,,, and lemonade,,, and lounging on a chair in the backyard with the yard just mown.. (now i want lemon and oranges too)

I think her and Mordecai would get along if they knew each other. Not because of the whole "we both have bosses that drink alcohol and directly support the bootlegging business" thing, but more of the "we both like to keep things tidy and organized" thing. They wouldn't even talk to each other. They'd have eye contact for like, 0.5 seconds and they just understand.

Ironically though, Lacy's workspace always looks like a bomb had been dropped on it. There's books and sheets everywhere, half-sharpened pencils and pens devoid of ink spilling from the upturned plastic cup she uses to hold her writing materials. It's a miracle that Lacy manages to find her way around her desk without losing any important documents.

Oh, Lacy tries, believe me. Every morning and every afternoon before she goes home, she organizes her stuff by color, size, function, the whole nine yards. She's even got labels for everything! But sometime in high noon where everything starts getting so busy she couldn't tell left from right and up from down,,, well, let's just say that her current schedule doesn't really leave any free time for being neat.

She lives in a shared apartment ! As much as she wants to know her roommate, the circumstances of her work and the situations she gets herself into doesn't leave much room for socializing.

No sleep for Lacy. None .

Well, there's a bit of sleep for her, but it usually occurs in the late late late hours of the evening, where she has to open the door to her shared apartment as quietly as she can and then tiptoe across the room so that she wouldn't wake her roommate up. And even then it takes a while for her to sleep -

She keeps small potted plants by her windowsill ! Sure, she doesn't have the time to actually care for them, but she still strives to water them every now and then and give them air and keep them in a place where the sun shines.

Compared to her workspace, Lacy's house is,, actually pretty tidy? Well, her side of the apartment, anyways. When she has free time, Lacy would sweep the floors and reach under the sofa and bed to get rid of any dust bunnies. And although her roommate cleans up after themselves pretty well, Lacy couldn't resist washing their dishes or make their beds. It's gotten to the point that in the rare moments where she and her roommate do talk to one another, they quipped about Lacy being a cleaning fairy.

Lacy left their dishes rotting in the sink for about a week after that little joke, even though it's her turn to wash the dishes. :skull:

(And this isn't even a headcanon but like,, the name 'Lacy' just suits her so well ?? Like I look at her character design and then I look at her name and I'm like "Yup. That looks like a Lacy, alright.")

Oh, and one last thing -- being Wick's babysitter personal secretary had pretty much trained her to clean up after messes and follow up on meals and just,, pretty much be a maid ..

Whether she's conscious about it or not, she'd be cooking healthy meals for her roommate or leaving notes that remind them to take care of themselves. Of course, the roommate would love to tease Lacy for this, but considering what happened the last time they did that ,, keeping quiet seems like the better option -
