Thanks for asking! I'm loving this ask game.

Desire: Charlotte constantly changes what she desires, but her biggest and most constant one is to not have to hide what she is from those closest to her. She feels obligated to protect them from the dark riders and Dark Core by concealing her status as a witch and (reluctant) ally to the soul-riders.

Guilt: Charlotte feels a lot of guilt over how much she actually doesn't want to be roped into the conflict between the soul-riders and dark riders. She feels guilty because she should want to help save the world, and she does, but she's exhausted and constantly hounded and would very much appreciate being left the fuck alone.

Secret: Charlotte holds a lot of secrets. One crucial one is a secret from the dark riders. They are under the impression that she is the fifth soul rider as she can do a passable imitation of the four circles with her magic. The druids are effectively using her as a stand-in to draw fire while they search for the real fifth rider. She is a useful ally in her own right, but that's her main purpose to them.

This is gonna be fun because Branwen and Calamity are like polar opposites.

💝 How much effort do they put into their appearance? Do they have a favourite article of clothing?

Branwen puts more effort into her looks than Calamity, who is just a chaotic mess. Branwen prefers comfort over style and always wears dark colours, black especially. I would say she probably takes about 15-30 minutes get ready each day. Calamity doesn't give a single fuck about human fashion trends and just wears the most obnoxiously bright clothes, even if the colours or patterns clash.

💙 Describe their bedroom! Is it personalised, unchanged? Messy, neat?

Branwen is kind of a neat freak, her room is pristine. She lives with her mentor, Mrs Holdsworth, so her room is quite small, but she utilises the space well. She has a basket in the corner of her room for her cat to sleep in, various posters of musicians on the wall above her bed, a desk tucked into the corner opposite of the cat's basket, her bed along the same. There's also a recessed wardrobe and a floor cabinet that houses her witch supplies.

Calamity just sleeps in a caravan at the circus that Ydris conjured up for her and it is absolutely filthy in there.

☕️ What is their preferred beverage?

Branwen is a coffee person, but will occasionally drink tea if Mrs Holdsworth makes it so they can do leaf readings.

Calamity is a soft drink fiend. Ydris has forbidden energy drinks after "The Incident".

⚡️Does this oc have any unusual or "irrational" fears?

Branwen isn't really scared of anything per se, she's just aware of things.

Calamity's fear is the unstoppable marching of time that is leading us all to an inevitable death.

Bonus: Ylva's biggest fear is Calamity.

🐰 How huggable is this oc?

Branwen is not very huggable, if you ever get anything more than a handshake from her consider yourself lucky.

Calamity is very huggable! She's extremely tactile and loves physical contact with other people.

17 - Which Quests were your favorite? Why?

As basic as it is, I’d have to say the Main Quests are my favourite. I’m an avid lore reader, and I’m so interested in where the story is going, and with every new update (scarce as they are), I build up on my own theories and guesses (Sabines going to be the first to change and I know it!)

25 - Do you prefer Aideen & the Druids, or Dark Core & Garnok? Are you neutral/indifferent? Do you like both?

The druids are fine (so far), the keepers can get fucked though!

When it comes to dark core, I’m still on the fence. There’s been some great theories about Garnok, and I know SSE’s probably not going to follow through with them, but I like to know most of the facts before forming an opinion.

"hey yeah we didn't feel like doing long questlines anymore :) sorry!" feels like an ao3 author's note who stops posting and leaves their fics unfinished on chapter 25/27 because they moved fandoms, except this is a (supposedly) professional company getting paid to produce a product people are paying for who are just leaving not just the event questline but like half a dozen proper questlines in general abandoned and unfinished in their game on what is essentially a whim.

Finishing a project is a skill that is quite literally expected of university students, let alone working adults, and offering good experiences to your players means giving them satisfactory endings to quests after stringing them along for years.

Any goddamn professional who goes "hey these long questlines aren't working, lets shift to a more stand-alone shorter style of quest development" should still have the goddamn decency to finish the ongoing quests instead of abandoning them entirely. It's messy and immature not to.

"oooo but [insert name] left the company!! so we don't know how to finish it :(" the only thing less professional than just throwing shit out unfinished is to have entire parts of your process rely on a single person with no way to pick it back up if that person gets sick/quits/gets fired. do fucking better.

hi! star stable online lifetime membership is not worth it in current year imo. source: been playing since 2013, bought lifetime in like 2015 or 2016 or something. lifetime is only worth it if you have an attachment to the game like i do and intend to play for numerous years into the future. my lifetime purchase (or rather, my mom buying it for me because i was still a kid) was worth it because my crippling nostalgia causes me to play it still every now and then.

it's not a very good game, it sucks pretty bad actually, but it filled a niche for kid me of being a game where i could roleplay as a horse, and it genuinely had quite a lot of charm. the current marketing practices and the obvious struggle of the dev team trying to drag along the 20-year-old engine is painful to watch and i cannot recommend it due to grievances i've had with the game over the years.

tl;dr don't buy it unless you mean to play for years into the future- and i wouldn't recommend doing that. it was fun when i was a kid and had no standards because it had horses, but now? not so much.

7. What's your favorite historical moment or fact? Ohhh man hmmm. I'm far too fascinated by natural disasters but I'd never classify them as a "favorite" lol. I'll be basic and say the general period of Greece and Greek mythology is interesting to me

Hi, thanks for asking! Charlotte is my only OC (so far) I'm working on developing her. She is a witch who is Very Very tired of being dragged into soul-rider bullshit.

Monster: As a powerful but somewhat inexperienced witch, Charlotte has times when her power builds up and needs an outlet, and is more in control of her than she is of it. At times like these, she (or her magic) can lash out and explode at the slightest provocation. Charlotte is aware during these episodes, and can generally sense when one is on the way. She seeks to isolate herself but is usually hounded by the druids and soul-riders, who are not keen on letting her out of their sight, with explosive consequences.

🌈 - Do you associate any colors with them?

yellow! juliette, for the most part, is always in yellow, as is cato since it's her favorite color. maybe pink as well, if only for that's the color the soul rider powers manifest as.

🌧 - If this oc had a day free from all their responsibilities, how would they spend it?

if juliette did not have to worry about saving jorvik, she'd spend her day gathering more photos for her photo wall, or just being lazy in bed and watching television. she doesn't get much opportunity to just sit and rot in bed like a normal teenager does.

🌍 - What are this oc's religious views?

before arriving to jorvik, she wasn't really a religious person. she didn't believe in a christian god, or any other god, at least. however, after arriving to jorvik, once she realized that she was a conduit for aideen, she did start to believe in her, at least from a "i know she's real" sense.

Hmm this is actually tricky. I guess I really like the finding the dragon toys photo, stars and that donkey photo toy quests even tho they are not never ending. makes me to venture all over the map and encourages to explore.

I'm actually quite exited about the new bee quest!!

🤥 LYING - are they good liars? do they have tells to show they're lying?

Alina is... decent at it. She gets better after she starts hanging out with Ydris. King of making people manipulative just like he is ig 😭

Shoji's good at lying, but he doesn't do it often because he would rather be ""brutally honest"" (aka an asshole). He's capable of straight-facing his way through basically anything.

Wynn SUCKS AT LYING. He gets shifty and won't make eye contact and it's harder to find the right words. That kid will incriminate himself halfway through

He's just little, though, so honestly it's good that he's a bad liar LMAO

🍟 FRIES - do they order food often? or they prefer to cook their own food?

Well two of them are horses so they kind of eat whatever's offered to them DKNSBSAHJH

Alina really likes cooking, she mostly prefers to just make things for herself, but she's also definitely not against having something delivered if she's had a long day or really particularly wants something.

Wynn is a garbage disposal he is NOT picky, but he does get excited when offered like,,, part of whatever Alina gets for herself, because it doesn't happen suuuuper often so it's more fun.

🍁 MAPLE LEAF - what is their favourite season? why?

Alina is so winter-coded omg, silver everything, sweaters and scarves, hot drinks and comfy blankets, etc etc. Even her guardian horse is white and blue!! Summer is a CLOSE second though, she likes the beach and her freckles show and her birthday is in August...

Shoji's a bit more complicated to me because like,,, his birthday is in February and he does like getting to hang out in front of the fire when it's cold, but Alina's birthday is in summer + he really loves the sun. But then there's also? his wife and kid are both spring-enjoyers which means he's legally obligated to also like spring. If I Absolutely Had To Pick, I'd say summer. 🤔

Wynn likes fall! The colours change and there's all sorts of fun seasonal treats and he looooves Halloween. He managed to convince Alina to take him to Galloper's Keep last October and had the time of his life. (GIRL WHAT!! GET HIM OUT OF THERE)

🎭 MASKS - do they act differently around certain people? what's different between the way they act around friends, family, strangers, etc.?

Alina's polite with strangers and polite in that... sly "I'm-better-than-you" way with people she doesn't like. She's slightly distant with her parents (It's been... a while since they saw each other irl :( She just isn't willing to leave Jorvik for extended periods of time), so I would almost put them in the 'strangers' category with how she acts around her family? Not to mention she grew up in an environment that taught her not to reveal how she's feeling.

With her friends, it depends on how close they are. She's kind of. anxious. a lot. So unless they're really close, she might be a little reserved. If she's close friends, besties, ride-or-die with someone, then she'll come out of her shell. With her horses she's her truest self, willing to be silly and (god forbid) even willing to show when she's upset about something.

Shoji is a mean bitch to Everyone. He was even like that towards Alina when they first met. He will continue to be like that to everyone that isn't currently Living In His House(/Stable).

As for those he lives with... Well. It's like a completely different person. No harsh words or sarcasm or insults. He's someone for Alina to confide in and get advice from, he's the Best Dad Ever (or he's doing his best), he straight-up down bad for Thunder even after all this time being horsie-married. Dare I say it... he's a bit of a sweetheart.

Wynn's just cheerful and excited to meet basically everyone. He'll go up to strangers and try to be their best friend (even if they can't understand him). If there's more than one stranger at a time, though, then he gets shy.
