OKAY THEN. There's 5 of them in total but I'll introduce my 2 favorites for now (they have the most lore made... for obvious reasons)

This is old art but it shows their designs more accurately (since I haven't changed them much), so meet Jayce and Nicholas!

Starting off with Jayce:

I barely have any art of him drawn and these ones are OLD... that's embarrassing HRKSHSAJHDJS 😭 but here's what I can infodump abt him:

He's a young adult, rest assured. I haven't thought of a specific age (and would rather not), but he's definitely an adult that still goes to college.

Works at a café near his university.

Unapologetically blunt. People tend to have trouble getting along with him at first or getting used to his presence. Secretly has a really mischievous side to him though (for the better or for the worse).

Writes fanfics in his spare time.

Without spoiling too much abt the storyline I have for him, I'll just say he's heavily associated with my sona. Their bond goes quite deeply but sadly he doesn't know that (yet).

Lots of the "main storyline" I have planned out tackles on "past lives." And, well... let's just say old habits die hard and I sometimes still slip up with calling him his old name 😭

He's a ginger (godfuckingdamnit), his design coincidentally reminds me of Soft! Pico except his main color is Blue instead of Green. It was coincidence I swear 😭 /srs

MOVING ON... for Nicholas:

I've drawn this lad before with Jil's Oc's: Cobalt and Ski (refer to the art above ☝️) mainly for the silly. And uh...

He has a lot more art as well for... reasons. Ehe. Though, majority of it is quite old so it's not really that good. (I do have a more recent ref for him, found here).

The second comic is in reference to him meeting his old version (who was a lot more flirty) but ofc I changed it overtime 🫶 Anyway, regarding his lore/abt him:

He's in his early 20's! Again, I don't have a specific age (once again bc I prefer not to) but he's definitely in the legal age to drink as well lol

He's quite professional when it comes to his job, but does try to be a little laidback to not intimidate others. How’d you know he’s been on my mind lately mystery person that is totally not Coko huehue

The only tweaks I made for his look was longer ears, a lion’s like mane cuz cmon that’s just cute, and different eye markings but it might change cuz I’m still indecisive on one I want to settle with. And the fun part is you can go crazy with the foliage that grows on his back, there’s no specific one way to do it cuz just like nature, it’s inconsistent and all over the place :D

Some additional stuff I wanted to add onto him. He himself is only tethered to the forest, he can’t leave it whatsoever. Maybe it’s cuz he’s the guardian of it or maybe just some unexplained mystical mojo is at play, but all he knows is he can’t step foot outside the forest. Another thing is the way he laughs, kinda similar to sounds regular opossums make, he gives off a “ch” noise. Also he’s always gonna be dirty and covered in dirt and grass stains and not really care about how he looks. But if those he’s assisting want to offer a lil groom he’s not gonna refuse. He quite likes flower crowns :3

OH and his favorite resting place is a giant weeping willow tree cuz those are my favourite trees to place in a fantasy setting >:0

Fazemos a foto de grupo antes de entrar, somos alguns de Guimarães, das Canárias, ilha do Pico (o guia) e Odivelas (eu).

Há 4 filas de mesas postas com o serviço do império, tanto os pratos como os talheres têm o nome do império gravado. Explicam-me que há mais lugares à mesa que os previstos para äs pessoas que queiram vir almoçar.

No topo das mesas, estão expostas as coroas e os ceptros para quem quiser, receber a benção do Espírito Santo e fazer um pedido. Faço o meu.

E sigo para os nossos lugares.

A sopa do cozido vem com a terrina com o caldo e uma travessa à parte com as carnes. O caldo é divinal, admito que a primeira colherada me soube estranho. Talvez por estar mais habituada ao caldo de galinha. Mas a segunda colherada é as restantes souberam-me tão bem! A mim e aos meus colegas convivas. Houvesse mais espaço no estômago e mais comíamos. Aconselharam a reservar espaço para a alcatra mas a malta continuava a comer a sopa, tão boa que era!

Fiz uma ligeira contribuição ao levar uns pratos para a cozinha e veio a alcatra para a mesa. Come-se acompanhada por pão de massa seveda e também é muito bom!

O guia ganha nome e eu também, chama-se António Rosa e explica-me que no fundo das tijelas são colocados pedaços de courato para dar gordura ao assado. Entretanto, conto-lhe acerca do meu tour aos impérios e mostro-lhe o Sr António Santos da panificadora Sra dos Milagres e ele conhece-o! Diz que é muito boa pessoa. Também me pareceu : )

The Importance of a Systematic Review in Plastic Surgery

Systematic reviews are essential for assessing the quality of research in a specific area. They use rigorous scientific methods and minimize research bias by considering all the studies.

Planning involves defining robust pre-specified protocols and a PICO approach (population, intervention, comparison, and outcomes). It also requires a careful selection of studies.

Systematic reviews (SR) and meta-analyses are the most rigorous method of aggregating evidence. However, their quality could be improved by the reliability of primary studies and the method used to pool data.

To assess the overall quality of SRs published in three prominent plastic surgery journals between July 2019 and July 2020, we critically appraised their reporting standards using A Measurement Tool to Assess Systematic Reviews (AMSTAR). We also investigated factors that influence the underlying methodology of these reports.

There must be a more significant gap between the quality of SRs in plastic surgery and other surgical specialities. Better education, awareness among all stakeholders and enforcement through journal submission systems could help to improve this.

Systematic reviews (SRs) address the shortcomings of traditional reviews by utilizing rigorous, reproducible methods and recommended guidelines. They are designed to eliminate sources of bias and ensure as complete a review of the existing literature as possible.

SRs are essential for clinical practice and ensuring that surgeons are informed about current standards of care and new technologies. However, their reliability and applicability can be undermined if they are not performed and reported correctly.

Therefore, this systematic review was conducted using the PRISMA guidelines. Articles were retrieved from the MEDLINE, EMBASE and Scopus databases using appropriate search terms and included only those studies that met the inclusion criteria.

The primary objective was to evaluate the quality of reporting in RCTs published in the Journal of Plastic Surgery. Fifty-seven articles were assessed for compliance with the CONSORT reporting guideline. The median score was 11.5 out of 23 items. The most common items where compliance was the poorest were intervention/comparator details, randomization implementation and blinding.

Despite the increasing importance of patient safety in all health research, only some studies about this subject consider the specificities of plastic surgery patients. These include the fact that they are generally female, healthy, and young.

The authors, therefore, conducted a systematic review in the Journal of Plastic Surgery to identify actions related to patient safety in this speciality. The literature was searched using MEDLINE and SCIELO databases between 2012-2018, totalling 15 articles.

The results showed that most SRs in this domain could be better formulated. They often employ spin, a form of reporting bias in which the results of studies are presented as overstating the efficacy or understating the harms of interventions. This is often a cause for concern, as it can result in clinical recommendations not being justified by the evidence.

A systematic review is a literature research method that collates and analyses empirical evidence to answer a specific research question. This type of review is also known as a meta-analysis.

The methodology used for a systematic review can be complex and requires careful planning to justify the conclusions reached. Systematic reviews typically address a structured research question and follow strict criteria to minimize bias.

The authors of the study evaluated a total of 1820 articles that met the inclusion criteria. Most studies included were in aesthetic and breast surgery (27%) or craniofacial surgery (23%).
