I love how Checo saw Franco and immediately went "my baby, my boy, my precious child" and is almost constantly near him and interacts with him and does everything to connect and make him feel good. It's heartbreaking that he does that mostly because he was alone in this sport for so long and wasn't really welcome in it.

I can't really believe how people can keep on saying that he is a bad person (I know it's mostly Daniel fans wanting their fave in Checo's seat but still) when most of the drivers like him (I stand by my opinion that if Sebastian Vettel liked you, you can't be a terrible person) and he just wants the younger drivers to never go through he had to in this sport. It's the same with Yuki, the drivers from F2, F3 and the Academy and now with Franco, even with Max earlier on. He's just adorable and wholesome and I can't wrap my head around all the hate when the loudest people claim 'not to be racist' but there is really no reason for them to hate him so much. Dislike? Sure that's your right but blatant hate?

Oh, I know anon. I don't get how people can hate him, and also waste their time and effort in making blogs, posts, edits and so much more just to show how much they hate him... I mean... what? this is borderline insane.

You are allowed to dislike someone; I don't like Lando Norris, for example (I have my petty reasons), but I don't spend my time making blogs to hate him or making posts about him, why would I do that? When I can be delusional with Chestappen and Chewis? Being happy with my fellow KitKat gang, or just finding Squirtle gifs? (new obsession).

The only person who welcomed Checo when he joined F1 was Fernando, which is why he's his bestie; Kamui also was kind, but the rest of the grid... oh well. I just love how much Checo puts the effort in welcoming the rookies, and with Franco has been extra nice, maybe because both are latin americans; he is a warm and kind person (also a little shit sometimes), so I don't get why people keep hating him so much.

Under the cut, elaborations on how the KOSATSU gang are interacting with their respective pals - for funsies!

Red: Talking about one of his many battles - as in, squabbles - he had with his rival, Blue. Pikachu is not amused, because Red is wording it in a way that makes it sound a billion times cooler than how it actually went down.

Alexis: Happy with making a new friend! Especially, one that can do cool tricks! Hypno is a little slower to build trust, but as long as Alexis isn't terribly upset, he's cool.

Leaf: Is glad that Eevee is enjoying the lil' sliced Oran Berry! She thinks it's a sign he'll grow to trust other people as well.

Gold: Is on a team effort with Cyndaquil to explain he's alright in spite of the bandages perpetually on his elbows and knees - he just tends to be a little scrappy.

Mike: More than glad to explain Ignis Fatuus stuff! Squirtle, meanwhile, is glad to give support to a fellow introvert.

Kosatsu: He and Miki don't trust Hikkiko at all to give pats in the head of the latter. Actually, scrap half of that - Kosatsu doesn't trust Hikkiko, point.

Indigo League Episode 19

Today we have what I think is our first city wrecking disaster episode, it's focused on Tentacool and Tentacruel, and Misty catches a pokemon! I really like this episode! I seem to enjoy the disaster episodes pretty well usually, and this one's great.

Hah, theses idiots missed the ferry. Relatable though, I’ve missed a ferry before and it’s always pretty annoying.

Poor Horsea! He got a boo boo. (His Japanese name is Tattu which is super cute.) I appreciate that he's trying to warn everyone about the danger, but I'm more impressed by his ability to draw anything that's at all recognizable in water.

Wow, an explosion that has nothing to do with Ash! Such a rarity.

The bad guy of this episode has an entourage of guys who are just there to be pretty. Very girlboss of her even if I don’t really like her.

Meowth being able to speak human is so convenient for when they need the humans to be able to understand the pokemon.

Poor Butterfree, no way is it comfortable for his little bug wings to be carrying a Pokemon larger than him. And how is Zubat even carrying Squirtle? He looks glued on.

I love Misty in this episode, she's very passionate about her love for water pokemon, she was great as the focus of the episode.

I decided I wanted to try and alter Ash's teams a bit as if I were the one in charge of writing. The idea isn't to change too much (unless imo it was just handled the worst it could be, like the BW anime), but to kind of rearrange or arrange for him to have Pokemon I think he should have had. I think I'll keep this going per gen or until I get bored

Something important: if I replace a Pokemon you liked or if I rotated a Pokemon someone else had, A. My post, B. I'm not necessarily erasing the Character of the Pokemon so much as I'm just putting it in a different body, which will make sense eventually. C. Some Pokemon I feel like other characters would be better off having instead of Ash and vice versa. Also, if I evolve a certain Pokemon, it's because I think they should have evolved, even if the writers gave their reasons otherwise. I don't really care for the "it's too cute to evolve" trope, but I will try to be reasonable.

More under the cut, but the final Indigo Team will look like THIS. The changes are kinda lengthy, but I think it's fun.

Ash still releases Butterfree, but in my AU Butterfree would probably reappear before the last damn season of his adventure. I would make it a team fairwell, though, I feel like Pidgeotto would have been sad to see a fellow flier leave.

To to start, the Indigo League team, the og. The beginning would probably be unchanged, maybe rewrite the parts where Ash wins by cheating or earns his badges improperly, and definitely adjust some moves (such as giving Butterfree Confusion), but we're pretty chill so far.

Here's where things shake up.

In this AU, Ash would catch Primeape like usual, except in my AU, he DOESN'T GIVE IT TO THE GUY HE BEAT IN A FIGHT. Still to this day the dumbest release imo. Primape can still have his violent outbursts, but I think he'd still mellow out and become a team crier. But if his flip is switched he will go on a rampage.

Charmeleon still evolves after dealing with a rampaging group of Exeggcutor and still becomes a sassy teen that thinks he's too good for the trainer that saved his life- I don't want to change that too much because that's an important part of Ash's growth.

Squirtle, however, WILL evolve, the first big changeup. In my AU, Charmeleon becomes a bully to the rest of the team, and one episode he just pisses Squirtle off TOO much to the point he evolves out of anger and beats him. Wartortle and Charmeleon would have a rivalry between each other, always trying to compete and outdo each other- a real Goku and Vegeta situation. However despite evolution, Wartortle would actually remain pretty loyal to Ash and the rest of the group because he's a homie like that. Even the Squirtle Squad- upon seeing him evolved, would be pretty stoked.

Bulbasaur does not evolve yet- at first it is assumed that he's just chill like that, but during an episode where it's a Pokemon central bit and Meowth can actually translate for him, it turns out Bulbasaur actually FEARS it a bit, fearing the change of his body and mind like in the case of Charmeleon. Wartortle would try to convince him that it'll be okay, and even Pidgeotto would give backstory as to how he evolved from a Pidgey before being caught, but Pikachu would actually agree with Bulbs. Ash would make a mature decision to just be happy with the little guy however he wants to be, and if he never changes his mind, that's fine.

The first to evolve to their final form would actually be Wartortle to Blastoise- it would be a Squirtle Squad centric episode where the gang would be overwhelmed by a blazing fire, and it becomes a life or death situation. Wartortle evolves to Blastoise and learns Hydro Pump to save the Squad and his gang, and it's a moment that leaves everyone in awe- Ash especially because, if you didn't know, officially Ash wanted to pick Squirtle as his first Pokemon but was beaten by Gary. I imagine as a 10 year old, Blastoise would be the coolest thing ever and a minor dream fulfilled. However it would be a moment where Ash considers releasing Blastoise to rejoin the Squirtle Squad- but instead of that, Blastoise refuses to leave him, and Blastoise would actually pick a successor to lead the Squad in his wake. When asked why he'd stay with an awful trainer like Ash, the others would point out that he might be an awful trainer, but he did save Blastoise from a life on the streets and is why he is as strong as he is. Thus their bromance would be stronger than ever- Also Blastoise with Kamina shades is just way too cool, sorry if you disagree but you're W R O N G.

Charizard would be next- actually pretty close after. The event with Aerodactyl still happens, so Charmeleon doesn't evolve to save Ash, he evolves because Aerodactyl pissed him off enough to the breaking point- however, now it's with the additional rivalry he has with Blastoise. Charmeleon felt pretty confident in being stronger than anyone else and felt smug about not needing Ash, but when Wartortle became Blastoise, he started losing more. He became jealous of how much bigger and stronger Blastoise was, especially after a recent fight where Charmeleon almost lit Ash on fire and was stopped not just by Blastoise, but Pikachu and Bulbasaur as well. So with that, he evolves out of sheer fury and "saves" Ash, but not without making it a problem.

By this point, Charizard not only refuses to listen to Ash, he's decided he's too good for the team and flies off on his own. Ash is absolutely distraught, but Professor Oak reminds him that he didn't release him and that Charizard is still registered to his pokeball. Ash decides that he'll better himself to become a trainer worthy of Charizard again, but officially Charizard is mia. Occasionally he will show up to save the day from TR or fight particularly strong trainers such as Blaine, even cooperating with Ash sometimes and growing slightly fonder over time, but Charizard is a lone wolf and isn't counted as part of Ash's party for the rest of the Indigo Arc.

I imagine this all goes down a little after Ash gets his 6th badge, and so Brock and Misty try to talk him into padding out his team. They'd go to the safari zone where Ash catches his 30 Tauros like usual. Instead of Krabby, however, Ash would catch a Slowpoke and experience what having an Pokemon go to Oak's lab is like.

Ash would actually use a Tauros in another race and a couple of league battles, and particular one is pretty friendly provided he's fed and brushed. But, Tauros would rather be with his other 29 brethren, so he's not really a main stay.

He'd actually attempt to train Slowpoke- unfortunately, Slowpoke is... dumb. Just STUPID. It frustrates Ash, especially in one battle where Slowpoke refuses to use an attack Ash commanded it to until several minutes later. It's at this point he realizes Slowpoke probably just would be better off on Oak's ranch, and he's right. The boy is friendly though, and is always happy to see Ash and Pikachu when they come by.

At some point, Ash falls off a cliff after a Team Rocket attack knocks him over. Everyone fears the worst, and Pidgeotto tries his best to fly after, but can't in his current form- he evolves into Pidgeot and saves Ash at the last moment. Like in the anime, he is FAST- but instead of only giving him 1 episode, Pidgeot will actually remain with the crew for a while and actually get some impressive wins, having mastered the move Fly and Double Edge. It even has a bit of a rivalry with Gary's Fearow- they're gonna fight in the anime sometimes, BTW, instead of waiting until the Johto league. Pidgeot would go on to actually get an impressive knock out at the last gym when Team Rocket takes over, and becomes a big thorn in their side when he sees their air balloon and slices it out of the sky before they can even get a little ploy out. Ash sometimes worries that Pidgeot will grow to hate him like Charizard, but Pidgeot is actually pretty kind to Ash and regularly takes him flying around in the sky, clearly showing the bond they have. He gets along well with Primeape as well, surprisingly, and does so with Blastoise, Bulbasaur, and Pikachu as well.

But Ash is reminded that he still needs a 6th team member. In comes Growlithe, who Ash saves from drowning after jumping out of a ferry upon seeing it adrift in the ocean. Ash is actually separated from the group and his team for a bit and stranded on a deserted island with this Growlithe for a bit- Growlithe is immediately thankful and bursting with puppy energy and friendliness to Ash, regularly jumping on him and licking his face. For a day and a half they forage for food, and Growlithe even defends Ash from a horde of Tangela. They forge a genuine bond, and when they're eventually found by Pikachu and Pidgeot, Ash asks Growlithe to officially join the team, which he gladly accepts.

For anyone wondering- James' Growlie would still be an episode, but it'd happen much sooner. He would see Ash's Growlithe and immediately bawl his eyes out (comedically of course) because Growlithe reminds him of Growlie. In fact, Jesse and Meowth try to steal it for just that reason, but James refuses, there's only ONE Growlie, and that twerp's ain't it.

It wouldn't take long for Growlithe to evolve into Arcanine by complete accident. When the gang get to Cinnabar Island, someone accidentally bumps into the gang and tosses a fire stone in the air, and by a complete freak accident it touches Growlithe. Growlithe evolves into Arcanine- however, he's still very, VERY much a puppy, and does not understand his size, so the cute bit of him jumping on Ash and licking him a lot becomes a comedic factor. This is where Ash experiences first hand that evolving a Pokemon by stone too soon can have consequences, so there's at least an episode where he tries to train Arcanine to behave with SOME food motivated success, but old habits and all that. It's not just Ash either, he licks Pikachu, he licks Bulbasaur, he licks Primeape (that almost sets him off), he licks Brock, he licks Misty, he chases and licks Meowth- except Meowth doesn't seem as bothered. It's here they realize Arcanine has the GHOST type move, Lick, and Ash uses that to his advantage in the future.

So why Arcanine? It's a Pokemon I've always wanted him to have, it's a fire type to complete the holy grass fore water trinity, a stone evolution that he never really gets to do, and it's honestly a cuter and maybe more SANITARY way to recycle Muk's habit of smother hugging. I love Muk's habit of hugging Ash and Oak, don't get me wrong, but I never really saw it as an Ash mon, so this way we keep the spirit of the gag in a more story compelling body.

As far as Charizard, there does come an episode where he feels replaced and makes it a problem, but he does see how Ash genuinely cares about the rest of the team, and there's even a moment where Meowth would try to convince Charizard to join their side to get back at the pup who replaced him. But Charizard instead sends them packing and flies off with complex feelings to sort out, remembering how Ash and Brock saved him and the good times they all had together.

This team would go on to get some pretty big wins from the 8th gym and the league, where Arcanine would actually get to fully utilize his Lick attack on an enemy Gengar that swept Ash's team, Primeape would get into an all out brawl against a Machamp, Pidgeot would score an impressive win against an enemy Onix, Blastoise would learn Surf and demolish a trainer that cheats by trying to send out his whole team, Bulbasaur singlehandedly sweeps an opponent like Nidoking, Bellsprout, and Dodrio, and Pikachu scores a big win after a trainer melts all of the ice of an arena and zaps the hell out of them from all the water.

In this AU, Ash would still meet and fight Richie, but it's a lot closer of a match and Richie has evolved Pokemon such as Charizard, Butterfree, Kingler, and Muk (see? I didn't get rid of them entirely) plus Sparky the Pikachu. Instead of Ash losing because his Charizard took a nap (also that ref cheated by calling Squirtle a KO despite only being asleep), he loses because, like in the anime, he just got back from Team Rocket's bullshit and his team is at half health anyway, but he can't make any change ups because of the timing. His Pokemon try their best, but one by one they fall to only a few attacks each. It's a moment that leaves Ash sour and pouting, and especially angry at TR and unfortunately angry at Richie and even upset at his team. At this point, Ash has a heart to heart with his Mom, who actually gives him proper advice for once.

You can't change what happened. What happened was awful and not fair, but he still made it this far on his own merits and because his team tried their best to win despite what they went through. He can pout and be angry forever, or thank the friends that have helped him get this far and cheer for his friend that DID make it. It's a moment of growth where Ash realizes some things are more important than winning, and he apologizes to his Pokemon for lashing out and they actually forgive him. Ash also apologizes to Richie, and eventually he's forgiven.

Ash would make it to top 8.

After that, things go about as normal but with a couple of changes.

Primeape discovers he has a love for gardening and actually befriends Mimey and Deliah, and Arcanine also finds a home in keeping watch over Oak's Ranch to protect it from poachers, so Ash decides, for their happiness, he'll leave the two back home to help when called upon. It's a bit of a sad, tearful goodbye after all of this time traveling together, but everyone parts on good terms.

Pidgeot would part ways the same way as normal- the difference is that the same Fearow that tried to attack the flock of Pidgey is the same one he had been competing with from Gary's, who had apparently released abs abandoned Fearow after it lost so miserably to a trainer in the top 32. Eventually, not only does Pidgeot protect the Pidgey, it even befriends the Fearow, and this time he leaves to protect the flock of Pidgey AND Spearow with Fearow's help, now that the two are friends. It's another sad goodbye, but one that needed to be made.

While all of this is going on, Charizard was watching. Watching Ash lose the league and how he reacted and apologized, Ash choosing his Pokemon's happiness over his own, it begins to make him realize Ash wasn't so bad and was growing up, and would add another step to rejoining the team later on.

But that's where I'll end this long enough post. That's the Indigo League changes I'd make, and the next one will be Orange Islands!
