I love how Checo saw Franco and immediately went "my baby, my boy, my precious child" and is almost constantly near him and interacts with him and does everything to connect and make him feel good. It's heartbreaking that he does that mostly because he was alone in this sport for so long and wasn't really welcome in it.

I can't really believe how people can keep on saying that he is a bad person (I know it's mostly Daniel fans wanting their fave in Checo's seat but still) when most of the drivers like him (I stand by my opinion that if Sebastian Vettel liked you, you can't be a terrible person) and he just wants the younger drivers to never go through he had to in this sport. It's the same with Yuki, the drivers from F2, F3 and the Academy and now with Franco, even with Max earlier on. He's just adorable and wholesome and I can't wrap my head around all the hate when the loudest people claim 'not to be racist' but there is really no reason for them to hate him so much. Dislike? Sure that's your right but blatant hate?

Oh, I know anon. I don't get how people can hate him, and also waste their time and effort in making blogs, posts, edits and so much more just to show how much they hate him... I mean... what? this is borderline insane.

You are allowed to dislike someone; I don't like Lando Norris, for example (I have my petty reasons), but I don't spend my time making blogs to hate him or making posts about him, why would I do that? When I can be delusional with Chestappen and Chewis? Being happy with my fellow KitKat gang, or just finding Squirtle gifs? (new obsession).

The only person who welcomed Checo when he joined F1 was Fernando, which is why he's his bestie; Kamui also was kind, but the rest of the grid... oh well. I just love how much Checo puts the effort in welcoming the rookies, and with Franco has been extra nice, maybe because both are latin americans; he is a warm and kind person (also a little shit sometimes), so I don't get why people keep hating him so much.

I wish I was better at drawing Pokémon cause boy do I have some opinions on what mons the gang would have.

Kenny having a Maushold that lives in his parka, it’s all cute and adorable, but then he also has like the biggest Dusknoir and this thing is IMPOSING AS FUCK, like it is giant and it was huge when Kenny found it as a Duskull and as it evolved it just got bigger. He’d also have a Desidueye, finding a Rowlet hiding out in the roof of his house or something.

Butters would for sure have a Denenne, he’s just a little guy! Also weirdly enough I see him also having a Golurk, he gives mecha chaos vibes.

There’s also a very specific story behind Kyle having a Milotic; they also go Magikarp fishing one day and Kyle catches a Feebas, and they don’t realize it’s a Feebas and Cartman just rags on him for ages about his crappy looking Magikarp but Kyle takes care of it so well regardless and it’s definitely a surprise when it evolves.

Speaking of Cartman; as funny as it would be to be like oh give him a Munchlax or something, no you know who this motherfucker would have? Purugly. And they would NOT get along, the have the most begrudging of team ups but guess what, this thing is a tank, like insanely strong and everyone is terrified of this thing.

It would be cute to have Stan have a whole dog team, but I know for sure he’d have a Boltund (also with a gay little scarf lol) He and Kyle would probably also share a starter from the same gen, I can see them being Bulbasaur Squirtle buds (and by that respect Cartman having the Charmander)

The only other vague ideas I have are Tweek and Craig, having an Espurr and Morpeko respectively but also specifically Craig having a Paldean Tauros. I don’t have a reason other than vibes.

Speaking of the wildfires, I actually have a story about my first wildfire and how 9-year-old Granny inadvertently saved my family’s house.

My grandmothers house is in a prime location, overlooking canyons and you can see the shimmer of the ocean in the distance. The street its on is surrounded by canyons on all sides.

I remember my mom shaking me and my brother awake, saying that we have to go, and I remember hearing police outside telling people to evacuate over the megaphone. I remember looking out the window and seeing the fire clawing up the canyon toward my grandmother’s house on the opposite side of the street.

Everything was chaos while we grabbed the things we could. My sister was a toddler, my grandfather didn’t move well, we had four dogs, and we had to get everyone into the car and get out.

We go to my aunts house, who lived nearby but was out of the fire path. Once we got there, it hit me:

We didn’t get everyone out.

We forgot my pet tortoise, Squirtle. (We also forgot some medication, but 9-year-old me didn’t care about that)

I start BAWLING. Ugly, frantic, “we gotta save him” crying.

My mom and grandparents, understandably stressed, told me to chill the fuck out and that it’s “just a turtle”. We couldn’t get back to the house anyways and there wasn’t anything we could do.

Enter my uncles: Good Uncle who is former military and a genuinely nice guy, Bad Uncle who was a motorcycle gang trouble maker and the most offensive human being you have ever met. He’s now a red-hat wearing Republican. We don’t talk to him anymore.

But! At the time, Bad Uncle had a soft spot for me and the tortoise. He saw that I was upset and was like, “shit, I gotta get my niece’s turtle. He’s my buddy. I drove cross country with him on my dashboard.”

Good Uncle was like, “forget the turtle — he’s in the garden and we don’t have time to find him, we need to get grandpas medication.”

So they both got on their motorcycles and ducked past the police roadblocks into my grandmother’s neighborhood. The entire street was on fire by the time they got there… except for my grandmother’s house. The fire from the neighbors house was just starting to creep over and caught the wooden awning in the backyard.

My uncles hopped the fence into the neighbors yard, whose house was already done for, and started flinging water from their pool wherever they could reach. Putting out the fires where they could, just trying to do something, knowing that they didn’t have time and the house was probably going down anyways.

By the time they return, my grandparents and my mother had throughly crushed my hopes of getting my tortoise back. The uncles were only going for my grandpas medication, and chances were they wouldn’t be able to find the tortoise.

Good Uncle get off his Harley and has a bag full of stuff that he rescued from the house.

Bad Uncle gets off his Harley, covered in soot and ash, and reaches into the side bucket thing on his bike, and pulls out a towel.

And wrapped in the towel was Squirtle.

I remember Bad Uncle apologizing that Squirtle got to ride the motorcycle before I did, but I got my tortoise back and he was safe!

The only reason my uncles caught that part of the backyard was on fire was because Bad Uncle decided to look for Squirtle anyway.

A few days later, we’re allowed back into the neighborhood. Every house in the neighborhood burnt to the ground. Every. Single. House.

Except one.

My grandmother’s house survived. I guess whatever my uncles did in the backyard warded off the fire long enough for firefighters to get there or something. All of the patio chairs were arranged in a circle, and one of the firefighters had written in the soot on the grill “Luckiest House in [hometown name]”

And that’s the story of how 9-year-old Granny forgetting her pet tortoise probably saved my grandmother’s house.

Under the cut, elaborations on how the KOSATSU gang are interacting with their respective pals - for funsies!

Red: Talking about one of his many battles - as in, squabbles - he had with his rival, Blue. Pikachu is not amused, because Red is wording it in a way that makes it sound a billion times cooler than how it actually went down.

Alexis: Happy with making a new friend! Especially, one that can do cool tricks! Hypno is a little slower to build trust, but as long as Alexis isn't terribly upset, he's cool.

Leaf: Is glad that Eevee is enjoying the lil' sliced Oran Berry! She thinks it's a sign he'll grow to trust other people as well.

Gold: Is on a team effort with Cyndaquil to explain he's alright in spite of the bandages perpetually on his elbows and knees - he just tends to be a little scrappy.

Mike: More than glad to explain Ignis Fatuus stuff! Squirtle, meanwhile, is glad to give support to a fellow introvert.

Kosatsu: He and Miki don't trust Hikkiko at all to give pats in the head of the latter. Actually, scrap half of that - Kosatsu doesn't trust Hikkiko, point.

0007 Squirtle

My first water type! Also one of my easiest, considering it spends quite a lot of time outside of water after all it does breathe air!

To catch glimpses of this lively little 'mon I went to Route 24/25 and the Seafoam Islands! Did you know that $^*(& years ago they apparently had a gang of Squirtle roaming around taking stuff and causing mischief? Imagine!

Squirtle are by no means defenseless, however they are still easy prey for larger water-dwelling Pokemon and even some on land (I won't go into detail this isn't what my study is about) so they spend a lot of time sleeping inside of their shells.

Since they breathe air, Squirtle will surface and find a sandy bank or cave to sleep in most of the time. When in large groups they seem to relax more and will be seen extending limbs out, or even fully sprawled.

When tussles for the best spot occur, Squirtle are often turned onto their backs! And yet they seem to not care and just sleep like that...well, rocking themselves back to their feet is great for musclebuilding after all!

Squirtle are quite curious so it was easy to gain their trust and I got all kinds of shiny pebbles from them. Ah if I were a trainer I'd have such a hard time picking Pokemon I love all of them so much...

If necessary, Squirtle can and do sleep underwater. They can hold their breath for 4-6 hours so if they're not wanting to bunk down for a longer sleep they usually stay put, nestled into river beds or rock pools! A little bubble might even escape every so often...

Which reminds me, I never did return that snorkeling gear I 'borrowed' oops...

Indigo League Episode 19

Today we have what I think is our first city wrecking disaster episode, it's focused on Tentacool and Tentacruel, and Misty catches a pokemon! I really like this episode! I seem to enjoy the disaster episodes pretty well usually, and this one's great.

Hah, theses idiots missed the ferry. Relatable though, I’ve missed a ferry before and it’s always pretty annoying.

Poor Horsea! He got a boo boo. (His Japanese name is Tattu which is super cute.) I appreciate that he's trying to warn everyone about the danger, but I'm more impressed by his ability to draw anything that's at all recognizable in water.

Wow, an explosion that has nothing to do with Ash! Such a rarity.

The bad guy of this episode has an entourage of guys who are just there to be pretty. Very girlboss of her even if I don’t really like her.

Misty is waxing poetic about how cute Tentacool are and Ash is NOT having it.

Another Giant Pokemon! The pokeani knew what they were doing, this is sick. (Also, that's Team Rocket the Tentacruel is holding there to give you some idea of scale.)

Early Pokeani sure did love their guns.

Look at all of this destruction, someone definitely died here even if they don't say anything about it.

The scared lines on Pikachu make him look a little more fuzzy than they usually animate him to be. <3

Meowth being able to speak human is so convenient for when they need the humans to be able to understand the pokemon.

Poor Butterfree, no way is it comfortable for his little bug wings to be carrying a Pokemon larger than him. And how is Zubat even carrying Squirtle? He looks glued on.

I love Misty in this episode, she's very passionate about her love for water pokemon, she was great as the focus of the episode.
