Gi-hun has a big gentle heart and wants to help others, but we also see that he can be easily be corrupted. In the span of SIX DAYS he tries to kill Sangwoo for betraying them and Sae Byeok stopped him. It is more of a 50/50 chance that we either see him get corrupted or pull through it.
Okay, you can't watch Gihun walk with that strut and not tell me he wouldn't be a terrifying frontman.

written by @yenyu1s ( Ë¶Ë ÂłË(ââ Û ââ)
pairing(s) : kang no-eul x f!reader
contents : fluff/comfort, a droplet of hurt? - minor cursing, mentions of assault
synopsis : kang no-eul would've never expect that her late night run to the convenience store would turn into an unexpected moment of warmth, as two strangers find comfort in each other over instant noodles and canned coffee beneath the storeâs fluorescent glow.
wc : 3.05k
(a/n) first sg post in my blog! :3 i took inspiration for the storyline from a c.ai bot of kang no-eul made by @collupz ! i really hope you guys enjoy ⥠i might make this into maybe a 2-part, 3-part series? let me know if you liked this one and give me ideas for the next part if you have some on your mind ^-^
(for more, masterlist)
late night snack cravings was a weekly affair for no-eul.
she'd step out of her makeshift house (that is, her teal minivan..) and would make her way to the nearest, cheapest motel to take a hot, soothing shower. before beelining to the nearest CU.
no-eul drowned out the sound of cars buzzing by. rather, she focused on the crunching and rustling of her combat boots on the pavement. her furrowed eyebrows and chiseled face illuminated by the street light's glow, deep in thought.
the annual squid games was about to start, and no-eul was called in to fulfill her role as a guard. her slender fingers brushed against the fabric as they slipped into the pocket of her jacket, searching for the familiar shape of whatever lay inside before finally revealing a business card. she scanned the odd logo, reminiscing of the first time she was given the business card two years back : a circle, square and a triangle. on the other side of the business card a series of numbers forming a phone number.
she wasn't exactly thrilled at the invitation.. yes, the job earned her enough money to pay for food and daily needs, infact it paid more than her usual part-time job as a pink bunny mascot at the local theme park. she was pretty good at being a guard. she liked the quiet thrill humming beneath her skin, the notch and curves of her sniper felt comfortable and familiar.
but the money wasn't enough to fulfill her utmost desire : bringing her daughter home.
a few days ago, no-eul had barged in to the north korean defector shelter, demanding for information of the whereabouts of her daughter. slapping a decent stack of money on the broker's desk.
"let me be honest with you, how do you expect a one-year-old to survive in north korea without her parents?"
the brokerâs words cut deep into no-eulâs still beating heart. she had heard the same thing from every north korean broker she visitedâeach one worn down, their hope long extinguished. but she refused to let go. she clung to the belief that her daughter was still out there, waiting to be wrapped in her arms once more.
she paused beside a narrow, dark alleyway, her decision finally made: she would join this yearâs squid games as a guard once again.
she fumbled with her phone to make the anticipated call, business card in hand.
as she was messily typing out the mysterious number on the keypad, a high-pitched shriek pierced through the quiet nocturne, making no-eul's half-lidded eyes widen, and chapped lips part in shock.
"help! stop it!-"
the helpless scream came from the depths of the alleyway. no-eul didn't know what got into her. she was never the type to be a savior, she would usually turn a blind eye.. heck, she kills people for a living!
however, she felt her legs move, picking up her pace, and she entered the unknown, vast alleyway. passing by shut-down market stalls and abandoned storage rooms. the cold air hitting her face as she sprinted.
she reached the end of the backstreet, slowing down at the sight of the end of the alleyway, a brick wall, with you.. cornered. your body being strangled and pushed up by two large men.
"we told you to pay us back until the end of a week! where's our money huh?!" the huge man strangling you spat at your face.
your dangling legs kicked and kicked as you struggled for air, you tried to slap at the hands that strangled you, but the other thug pinned your dainty hands into the cold brick wall.
your panicked eyes found no-eul's stoic ones, hidden under her baseball cap. the older woman burned with quiet fury. she didn't hesitate.
with a swift motion, she lunged toward the first thug - the one who was strangling you. her foot connecting with his knee, sending him crashing to the ground with a loud grunt. she grabbed his collar and shoved him into the brick wall, her voice low and lethal.
"never lay a finger on her ever again."
you leaped out of his grasp, coughing and gasping for air, hitting the hard pavement. the other thug's attention diverted to the mysterious woman that had showed up in your defense.
"ya! who are you, bitch?" he roared, scrambling forward to land a punch.
in a fluid motion, no-eul took charge and grabbed his arm, twisting it before slamming him to the ground, panting as she held him down.
by now, you had already picked yourself up and dusted off the dirt that sprinkled your stockings. you reach to fix your skirt that had been ridden up as you were being hauled into the wall. your gaze finally fixated at the woman who was kneeing the last thug to remind him of his defeat.
your breath hitched as the moonbeam revealed the woman's face that was hidden beneath her tattered hat. her eyes had something fierce in them, sweet determination. her freckled nose pointed high. you saw as she parted her chapped lips for fresh air, the way she gave the thug a harder shove to the ground with her calloused hands as she scolded him. and, oh, her hands. the muscles under her skin twitch as she held a forceful grip on the thug.
the two men slowly pulled themselves together, not strong enough to pose any threat. they stumbled off to the distance when no-eul loosened her grip on the last man. she ran her hands through her hair before picking up her tall frame from her kneeling position and turning to you.
"you okay?" she exhaled sharply, and brought her full attention to you. her cold eyes scan you up and down, assessing you for any injuries. her demeanor still aloof.
you were.. pretty, to say the least. maybe adorable would be the right word. she was in awe of your doll-like features.. the moonlight gave her the chance to get a better look at you. your hair slightly disheveled from the force those loan sharks brought against you. the way you looked up at her, with admiring eyes.. she felt as if she could have a brain meltdown that second.
"thank you, oh, thank you.." you gushed, snapping out of your trance. you reached for your oversized messenger bag that was left untouched on the ground. "i-i don't know what could've happen to me if you hadn't been there.."
"are you sure you're okay?" the tall woman repeats, more quietly this time. a hint of worry evident in her voice.
"yeah! not even a scratch!.. please, how could i ever thank you?" you assured her as you lift your head to look up at her once again, both of your manicured hands reached for her tense, rough ones. "here, have you eaten dinner yet? i'll buy you dinner at the convenience store down the corner, my treat!"
no-eul scoffed in disbelief as you basically dragged her out of the gloomy alleyway into the sidewalk. you didn't even give her the chance to answer, or think! she squinted and narrowed her eyes at the change of lighting.
"i.. i guess i haven't had dinner yet.." she mumbled, and cursed herself for having no self-control.
i nodded, "me too.. oh, hurry now, noona, it's getting cold outside." you doted, fixing your pink plaid scarf as you picked up your pace, loafers stomping on the concrete.
no-eul mentally facepalmed herself. it wasn't so much that she was being called noona, but rather because she was so easily persuaded by you. she would've just outright refused if it was anyone else, but looking at you.. all sweet, innocent like a lamb, even after getting assaulted. your aura was completely different from hers and it fueled something in her.
the woman sighed softly, she followed behind you into the convenience store, taking in the sight of your short frame and pink scarf, dangling off your shoulder.
the doorbell of the CU rang, welcoming the pair. you dashed straight to the drinks aisle, scanning for cold, crisp water. sighing in relief as you chugged the water bottle.
"you gonna pay for that?" the store clerk joked, leaning against the register.
you shot him an annoyed look before glancing at the woman you had just met a few minutes ago. her eyes scanning the instant food aisle, she picked up her usual cup of cheap seafood ramyun and studied the nutrition facts. her tired eyes indicates for a much needed caffeine boost.
"oh, i really like that flavor!.. tastes like home." you gasped, grinning from ear to ear, standing by her side. reaching over to grab a matching ramyun cup
she could easily feel your body heat and warmth radiating from you as you stood by her. no-eul kept the same stoic look she had in her face when she first looked at you. she wondered how you could be so calm after what had happened. you even offered to buy her a meal!
"thank you.." the woman muttered, her voice light, spinning the canned americano she picked up at the drink aisle on the counter.
"don't mention it, i should thank you! without your help.. i might've been dead by now." you tried to joke. no-eul felt a smile creeping up her face as she leaned against the register, which was rare to see to people who might know her.
you paid for the meal and glared at the greasy store clerk, forcing a smile. you both take turns pouring hot water into your instant ramen cups before plopping yourself on the bar stool by the window. the bright, fluorescent neon sign illuminating the view infront of you.
no-eul sat next to you, her broad shoulders brushing against yours. you shivered at the feeling and you could feel her tense up at the interaction.
"i'm glad you're okay." she said, almost inaudibly.
no-eul could feel your eyes on her. she placed her hand on the rim of the ramyun cup, taking in the warmth.
you played with your nails, nodding. "i'm glad you're okay too, noona.." your voice sweet and low.
you both sat in silence for a minute, waiting for the ramyun to cook and bathe in the hot water.
"how old are you?" she blurted out, unable to hold her tongue.
"s-sorry?"
no-eul grimaced. shutting her eyes.. she probably said that too bluntly. she quickly tried to salvage her question.
"oh, i.. um, wanted to know your age." she said, gently this time. "you.. seem rather young, to be out here alone at this time."
"ah~" you nodded in understanding, "well i just turned 26 a few weeks ago.."
26..? 26..
you were 4 years younger than her, a surge of protectiveness smothered no-eul. "you're young.." she managed to breathe out with a faint smile, unable to get a better response out. her heart thumping in her chest.
"well? how old are you noona?" you asked with a tinge of curiosity before a wave of realization hit you, "oh my, should i even be calling you that? i'm sorry!" you covered your mouth in embarrassment, scolding yourself on being too careless.
no-eul grinned at the question. she didn't mind you calling her noona.
"i'm 30, 30-years-old. um.. i don't mind being called noona." she nodded, looking at your reflection in the window.
she couldn't help but stare at your face. the way you nod your head and puff your cheeks in consensus, the way your face lit up as you realized the ramyun was ready, and how you stuck out your tongue, focusing on trying to split the wooden chopsticks in two.
you were too darn cute for her own good!
no-eul carefully opened her ramyun cup and broke her chopsticks, warm steam fusing with the cold air. she looked over to see you take your first bite before taking a nibble of the seafood ramyun herself.
between bites, the conversation flowed easily, lighthearted with airy laughter here and there. the world outside seemed far away as the pair chatted about everything and nothingâ your lifelong dream of being an english teacher, no-eul's pet peeve of people chewing with their mouth open, your embarrassing phone addiction.. no-eul even brought up her past, how she defected from north korea. however, she left the mention of her daughter a story for another day.
she admired how easy you were to talk with, the tension between you two definitely melted away after about an hour of chatting your heads off. unbeknownst to you, heat crept up no-eul's face as the minutes passed by, getting to know you better. she was good at hiding it. however, you on the other hand, would blatantly blush and avert your gaze out of shyness here and there throughout the conversation.
"ugh, how am I going to get home.." she heard you complaining to yourself. your eyes flickered between your phone's lockscreen and the outside world. a gust of wind blew leaves that were scattered on the ground in all sorts of direction, you shiver at the sight.
"do you live around here?" she asked, taking a slow sip of her canned coffee. the ring on her thumb tapped against the metal with a soft clink. in the polished surface of the band, you caught a faint reflection of your own face.
you blushed at the sight of fine jewelry decorating her sleek hands. "yeah.. well i go to school at the university a few blocks down. i was going home for the day but got stopped by those loan sharks."
"..loan sharks?" no-euls eyes widened, shifting in her seat. how could someone like you be involved in something so.. dangerous?
you averted your gaze back to your half empty cup of noodles in shame. "well, yeah.. you know, when scholarships donât cover enough, and part-time jobs barely pay for daily necessities, you start getting⊠creative with your options."
no-eul felt a pang of guilt and sorrow taking over. even though you both are polar opposites in terms of aesthetics, you were.. just like her.
"i think we're on the same boat." no-eul chuckled, her comment made you raise your eyebrows.
she continued hesitantly, "mm, my part-time job isn't the best.. the pay is shitty and well, you know.. co-workers." she hummed, no-eul was surprised she was able to open up to someone this easily. gosh, what were you doing to her?
you nodded in understanding, admiring the pretty woman in front of you. your heart softening slightly at the way she was able to ease your mind.
"i get you, noona. sometimes i feel like i'm in my own bubble, i don't really have any real friends or family to be around with that i could pour my guts out to." your soft voice was like a symphony that seeps into the quiet spaces of no-eul's heart, tugging on her heartstrings.
no-eul was glad you both shared a gentle understanding for each other. the sweet smile on her face betrayed her cool, tough outer shell. she felt comforted and seen by you. that was all that matters to her at the moment.
"i'll probably just take the bus home.. i think i still have some credits in my flash card." you thought to yourself, chewing at the last chunk of soggy dried vegetables.
oddly enough, no-eul didn't want the night to end. it was probably due to her being deprived of human interaction, but she was certain she didn't want to leave without catching your name.
you were in the middle of packing your bags when you felt a cold hand reach for your forearm. turning your head, you caught no-eul's saddened eyes.
"when can i see you again?" she whispered softly, her voice rumbling in her throat. her touch lingered for a second longer.
your breath hitched, fixing your eyes on the change in no-eul's expression. is this the same stone cold, fierce woman i met just a few hours ago? you asked yourself. you smiled, your eyes crinkled at the softness that appeared in no-euls demeanor.
without a word, you reached into the pocket of your messenger bag, pulling out a pink glittery pen. you looked for something to write on before taking notice of the business card that peeked out of no-eul's jacket's right pocket.
without asking and knowing the origin of the business card, you snatched the piece of carton and scribbled your name and contact number on it over the cryptic unknown phone number that was inked into the card. doodling a heart next to your name before handing it to the freckled woman.
"if.. if you are in need of someone to talk to.. or a lunch buddy.. i'm one call away." your voice light and full of hope. the hope no-eul needed in this cruel world. it took no-eul everything in her to hold her back from reaching over and pinching your cheeks.. you were too adorable and charming for someone like her!
no-eul's eyes lingered on the business card. once, to her, it had been nothing more than a plain, worn piece of brown cardboardâjust another business card sent to her from her higher-ups. but now, with your name and number etched upon it with pink glittery ink, it felt different, it meant something to her.
she watched as you pivoted on your heel, heading towards the convenience storeâs front door. you paused before it, your gaze flicking back to her. "i never caught your name, noona."
no-eul pursed her lips into a thin line, before burying her hands into the pockets of her jacket, building up anticipation inside of you. "no-eul, kang no-eul."
you flashed her a toothy grin which made her heart fully explode, "no-eul.." you whispered, testing the name on your tongue, "..pretty."
oh.
no-eul went into full shut down mode at your compliment, her knees buckling, stomach churning.
what are you doing to me? she thought to herself.
you were oblivious to no-eul's breakdown, instead you gave her a small smile and wave before mouthing a cute little 'bye!' as you exit the convenience store into the night.
your name echoed through each and every nook and cranny in her mind, until it became the only thought in her head.
she couldn't wait for the next time her world would collide with yours again.

Part II
The games had taken their toll on everyone. The latest round had been especially brutal, dead bodies across the arena, screams still ringing in your ears even after hours. Everyone was on edge, fear settling deep into their bones as they huddled in their corners of the dormitory, too paranoid to sleep.
You sat in the dim light, knees drawn up to your chest, trying to quiet your breathing. You glanced over to the group you had managed to stick with, Gi-hun, Jung Bae, Dae-ho, the rest andâYoung il.
Your gaze lingered on him longer than it should have. He was older, quiet, and deliberate in his actions, his face lined with age and attractiveness. There was a steadiness to him, even in the chaos of the games, that drew you in despite your better judgment. You knew he had a wife, he had mentioned her being in the hospital when the group shared snippets of their lives. But the magnetic pull you felt toward him was undeniable.
The sleeping quarters was cold, the hum of fear in the air. You hesitated before shifting closer to him. âYoung-il,â you whispered, your voice trembling slightly.
He turned to you, his expression calm but questioning. âWhat is it?â
You swallowed hard, feeling foolish for even asking. âCan youâcan you stay beside me tonight? I just, um, I donât feel safe.â
He regarded you for a moment, his dark eyes scanning your face. Then, after a beat of silence, he nodded. âAlright.â
Relief washed over you as he moved closer, sitting beside you on the thin mattress. The proximity made your heart race, but you told yourself it was just the stress of the situation.
Hours passed, and the room slowly quieted as people succumbed to exhaustion. You and Young-Il lay on your sides, facing each other. The dim light cast soft shadows over his face, highlighting the sharp angles of his jaw and the lines etched into his skin.
âYou shouldnât look at me like that,â he murmured, his voice low, almost teasing.
You blinked, startled. âLike what?â
âLike Iâm the answer to whatever youâre feeling right now,â he said, his tone gentle but firm.
You flushed, breaking eye contact. âIâm sorry. I know youâre married. I shouldnâtââ
âShh,â he said softly, his hand brushing against yours. âLetâs just forget everything for a moment.â
Your breath hitched as he moved closer, his face inches from yours. His lips brushed yours, hesitating at first, testing the waters. The kiss was soft, but the weight of everything unsaid between you made it feel electric.
You pulled back suddenly, guilt flooding you. âI canât. This isnât right. You have a wifeââ
âDonât think about that right now,â he interrupted, his voice a low murmur. His hand cupped your cheek, his thumb brushing against your skin. âJust stay with me.â
His lips captured yours again, this time more insistent. The kiss deepened, a hunger building between you as the world outside faded away. His hands roamed down your body and you couldnât stop yourself from melting into his touch.
He broke the kiss, his lips trailing down your neck, leaving a trail of warmth. Your breath came in shallow gasps as he moved lower, his hands gripping your hips firmly. When he reached the waistband of your sweatpants, he paused, looking up at you for permission.
âIs this okay?â he asked softly, his voice laced with both desire and restraint.
You nodded, unable to form words, your heart pounding in your chest.
With deliberate care, he tugged down your sweats and underwear, his lips pressing gentle kisses along your thighs as he did. âYouâre beautiful,â he murmured against your skin, his voice filled with awe.
With his eyes locked on yours, his head lowered between your legs. His lips captured your bundle of nerves, sucking softly as a soft gasp left your lips. You pressed them together, not wanting to wake anyone to see what was taking place. His tongue flicked your clit sending more pleasure than you had ever felt throughout your body, making you shiver.
âYou like that, donât you?â he murmured between your legs.
You nodded frantically, fingers lacing in his silky hair as he continued feasting on your pussy. His tongue glided from your hole back up to your clit then down again. He circled your hole, letting his tongue slip inside as he collected your juices on his tongue. Your free hand clamped over your mouth, desperately trying to keep quiet as he slipped a finger inside your pussy.
Your back arched from the bed as his skilled finger curled and his tongue sucked on your clit with ferocity.
âYouâre doing so well, cum for me, cum on my tongue and my fingers,â he whispered.
Your fingers curled into the thin blanket beneath you as he continued, each flick of his tongue and thrust of his finger sending shivers down your spine. His movements became overwhelming and you pressed your lips together tightly as an intense orgasm washed over you making your back arch from the small bed.
âThatâs it, good girl, Iâm so proud of you,â he whispered.
In that moment, the fear and chaos of the games melted away, leaving you wanting more. You trembled beneath him, breathless and aching, your skin tingling from the intensity of his tongue. âYoung-il,â you whispered, your voice barely audible over the quiet hum of the dormitory. âI need more. Please.â
He stilled, his dark eyes meeting yours, searching for something. âAre you sure?â he murmured.
You nodded, swallowing hard. âYes,â you whispered, your lips brushing his ear as your fingers gripped his shoulders.
His lips curved into a soft smirk, his hands sliding up your sides. âThen beg for it,â he said, his voice low and commanding, with dominance you hadnât expected.
Your cheeks burned, but the desperation in your chest won out. âPlease,â you murmured, your voice soft but trembling with need. âPlease, Young-il, I need you. I need you to fuck me.â
âAs you wish,â he interrupted. He shifted to sit back on his knees, his hands deftly tugging his sweats and boxers down. He watched your reaction as he freed his hard cock, his gaze heavy.
âLook at you,â he murmured, one hand stroking over your hip as his other lined himself up at your leaking entrance. âSo perfect, so beautiful. I donât deserve this, but, God, Iâm going to make you feel so good.â
You gasped as he pressed his cock into you slowly, his whispered praises filling the space between you. âThatâs it,â he encouraged, his hand braced beside your head. âYouâre doing so well. So tight, so perfect for me.â
Your nails dug into his shoulders as he began to move, his thrusts measured and deliberate. The quiet around you made every sound amplified, the soft rustle of sheets, skin slapping, the hitch in your breath, and his murmured words of adoration. âCum for me,â he whispered into your ear, his voice cracking with need. âDo it, sweetheart. Iâve got you.â
You cried out softly, your hands clutching him as you surrendered, your body shuddering against his as your pussy gushed on his raw cock. He held you through it, his touch firm and grounding.
Moments later, he shifted, his body warm and solid beside you. âIâm not done with you,â he murmured, lifting your leg over his hip as he slid into your throbbing cunt.
The angle made you gasp, your hand flying to his arm as he held you close. âYouâre f-fucking me so good,â you managed, your voice breathless.
âShh,â he whispered, his lips brushing against your forehead. âStay with me. Feel everything, just like this. Youâre perfect, you hear me? Perfect.â
Your breaths mingled as he began pounding into you harder and the rhythm grew more intense, both of you trying to hold back the sounds that threatened to escape. His lips pressed against your ear. âCum with me,â he urged, his voice a broken whisper. âCum on my cock as I cum inside you, sweetheart.â
You clung to him as your orgasm took ahold of you once more, the world fading away as waves of warmth washed over you. His grip tightened, and his soft groan against your skin coupled with the feeling of his cum filling your pussy were the only confirmation you needed that heâd joined you.
When the high ended, he rolled onto his back, pulling you against his chest. His lips pressed gentle kisses along your hairline, your forehead, your cheeks. âEverythingâs going to be okay,â he murmured, his voice soft and tender. âYouâre going to get out of here. I promise.â
You nestled against him, his arms wrapped securely around you, the fear and chaos of the games momentarily forgotten.

Love at first sight. / Squid Games!Men
summary; a little prompt for each men in squid game x reader.
also my english isn't my first language so i do apologize for a few errors! enjoys x
including; in-ho, thanos, myung-gi, dae-ho & gi-hun
In-ho:Â
Praise yourself for catching In-hoâs attention amidst the chaos of the games. Not only did he manage to maintain his composure, but he also came to terms with the truthâit wasnât his mind playing tricks on him, but his heart betraying him. He had been ensnared in a dangerous blend of love and death. And no matter the cost, he was determined to ensure your survival, even if it meant faking your death and arranging for the guards to escort you to his shelter.
At first, his actions were subtleâa few fleeting glances, quiet assurances that you werenât alone. He took it upon himself to ensure someone capable stood between you and danger. This resolve led him to seek out Gi-hun, cornering him with a whispered plea. âIâm not asking for much,â In-ho murmured, his voice low and firm. Gi-hunâs brows knit together as he glanced at you, understanding little of the request but sensing its weight. Though the urge to question why In-ho couldnât protect you himself lingered, Gi-hun ultimately acceptedâhe, too, had his own plans to carry out.
Yet, watching Gi-hun hover near you ignited something unexpected in In-hoâa simmering, unanticipated jealousy. His blood boiled harder than he cared to admit.
It was Gi-hunâs proximity to you that set him on edge.
While 001 had extended a friendly hand, In-ho never anticipated him stealing you away entirely. The realization unsettled him, and during the chaos of the Carousel games, panic began to creep in. When he noticed you were nowhere to be found in the room, it nearly consumed him. The thought of losing you made his fists clench, and for a brief, irrational moment, he contemplated throwing a punch at Gi-hun. But it wasnât until the final elimination, when the doors unlocked, that relief washed over him. There you wereâyour silhouette unmistakable behind Dae-ho.
In that instant, he didnât hesitate. Rushing toward you, his breath hitched, words failing him. A shaky exhale escaped his lips, a mix of disbelief and overwhelming relief. He almost laughedâa scoff of incredulityâbefore pulling you close, his hand instinctively cradling the back of your head. Without a second thought, he leaned in, his lips pressing a firm but tender kiss to your forehead.
âSilly,â he muttered, his voice tight with emotion. âI never shouldâve trusted Gi-hun to keep you safe. Damn it, I thought Iâd lost you.â The panic in his voice caught you off guard, the weight of his words sinking in. You hadnât expected such raw vulnerability from himânot now, not like this. A soft chuckle escaped you, an attempt to lighten the moment. âItâs okay,â you reassured him gently. âDae-ho found me right away and made sure I was safe.â
That revelation gave In-ho pause, but he filed it away for later. For now, none of it mattered. You were alive and unharmed, and that was everything.
The kiss on your forehead wasnât just a gesture of reliefâit was a silent declaration. You were his, and no oneânot Gi-hun, not Dae-ho, not anyoneâwould ever take you from him again.
Thanos:Â
Once a retired rapper, Thanos now found himself thrust into a life-and-death struggle. Among his generation, it was no surprise that some idolized himâhis presence commanding a respect so intense, it bordered on worship. To them, he was pristine, untouchable. But this adoration didnât sit well with everyone, especially loners like you, who preferred to navigate the chaos without attachments.
Ironically, that aloofness was one of the many reasons Thanos found himself drawn to you.
In the early days on the island, Thanos made no effort to reveal his interest. If anything, he mirrored your indifference, matching your cold detachment with his own. But when you began spending time with Myung-gi, the dynamic shifted. Thanos hadnât expected it, nor did he like it. Watching you bond with someone else left a bitter taste in his mouth, awakening a tension he couldnât ignore. The loner mindset had been his strategy for survivalâa simple equation: fewer people, fewer complications. But your presence complicated everything, especially when it came to your effortlessly beautiful face, which he found himself stealing glances at far too often.
It didnât take long for his resolve to crack.
Thanos had made himself a promise: to keep his distance, to ignore you as you ignored him. But that promise shattered the moment Nam-Gyu let slip a confession Thanos had sworn him to secrecy about. That little fucker, Thanos thought bitterly, though his anger was tempered by necessityâhe needed Nam-Gyu to survive. Yet, when the truth reached you, it unraveled him in ways he hadnât anticipated.
Instead of drawing you closer, the revelation pushed you further away. Your avoidance became more deliberate, more pronounced than ever before. It stung more than Thanos cared to admit. For the first time in a long time, he was unpreparedâfor your reaction, for the way it tightened a knot of frustration and longing deep inside him.
Which only added more tension between the two of you.
The final games loomed, a trial where survival would demand more than just cunningâit called for a kind of ruthless cleansing. Thanos knew, without hesitation, that when the moment came, heâd be the first to grab your hand and shield you. Even if it meant overreacting, even if it jeopardized his own chances, he couldnât bear the thought of losing you. Certainly not to Myung-gi, if it came down to that.
âYou know...â he murmured late that night, his voice low and almost hesitant. Your back was turned to him, your body stiff on the thin mattress. You couldnât bring yourself to look at him, couldnât even steal a glance. Not after everything. The weight of his breath lingered against the back of your neck, and you flinched slightly, betraying your nerves. His presence, so close and unyielding, was suffocating yet magnetic.
âTomorrow is... big,â he continued, his words faltering as his gaze shifted across the dimly lit dormitory. For a moment, his eyes locked on Player 333, who sat sharpening a weapon in the cornerâa stark reminder of the danger waiting ahead. Thanos clenched his jaw, then turned his focus back to you.
âIf weâre not careful...â he trailed off, his voice softening, almost breaking. âWho knows if Iâll ever get to see your beautiful face again?âHe exhaled sharply, frustrated with himself, as if admitting even that much was a risk. âI know itâsââÂ
Your head snapped toward him, your brows furrowing into a glare sharp enough to cut through the tension between you. For a moment, silence hung in the air, charged and heavy. Then, your voice broke it, calm yet biting. âIf you keep this up, you might be the one ending up with a bullet in the face,â you said, your tone so nonchalant it bordered on cuteâa contrast that left Thanos momentarily stunned. He blinked, almost scoffing in disbelief, one hand pressing dramatically against his chest.
âOuch,â he drawled, his lips curling into a grin. âIâm hurt, sweetheart.â
Your eyes narrowed into daggers. âDo. Not. Call me sweetheart.â
Before you could say more, Nam-Gyu chimed in from his corner, a mischievous smirk playing on his face. âI bet sheâs in love,â he teased, his words practically dripping with mockery.
Thanosâs cocky grin widened at that, his eyes gleaming with a maddening mix of pride and amusement. The sheer arrogance in his expression made your fingers twitch, itching to slap that smug look right off his face. But instead, you gave him one final glareâa death wish in your eyes, though to Thanos, it looked like the beginning of a love story.
âI bet she is,â he echoed, his voice soft but certain, the words carrying a weight of truth that made your chest tighten. He didnât try to stop you as you turned and walked away, but his gaze lingered, following every step you took. Oh, how you had him wrapped around your finger without even realizing it. A wimp for you, and you alone.
Myung-gi:Â
Everyone knew who Player 333 wasâyou included. Unlike many in this room who were desperate to claw their way out of debt, you knew Myung-gi only by name. Youâd heard the rumors: how heâd gotten his girlfriend pregnant, how his past was littered with mistakes and secrets. But something in youâa stubborn spark of hope, perhapsâwhispered that he wasnât as bad as everyone wanted him to be. Maybe, just maybe, there was more to him than the stories let on.
Myung-gi had noticed you, though. Heâd seen the way you were with Jun-heeâthe way your smile seemed to ease her fears, how your arms would wrap gently around her petite frame after every game, grounding her, giving her the space to breathe. The quiet strength and warmth you brought to her felt almost unreal, a motherly presence in a place devoid of comfort.
It was that tenderness, that undeniable light, that struck him like a blow to the chest.
Myung-gi was in love.
And he hated every single moment of it.
Why? Because he knew himself. He knew what heâd done to Jun-heeâhow heâd left her while she was pregnant with his child, drowning in debt and fear. Heâd been a coward, an asshole, and he knew it. That self-loathing festered, a constant reminder of his failures. And yet, it was exactly why he didnât expect you to see him as anything other than the man he despised.
But fate had other plans.
Your first real interaction with him came after he saved youâsomething neither of you had anticipated.
It happened during the Bathroom games, where survival left no room for personal grudges. Confronting Thanos wasnât at the forefront of Myung-giâs mind, but then he heard itâyour name, slipping from Thanosâs lips with such filth that it ignited a rage Myung-gi didnât know he was capable of.
Everyone knew your past as an escort within the crypto community. Your name wasnât hard to find, whispered in private conversations and occasionally tied to scandalous wallets. But Myung-gi knew better than to judge. Still, hearing Thanosâthe retired rapperâspeak of you like that, as though you were nothing more than a commodity, was the last straw.
âShe was good for a foreigner. Not manyââ
That was as far as Thanos got before Myung-giâs fist collided with his jaw, cutting him off mid-sentence. The sickening crack of impact echoed through the grimy bathroom, followed by a faint splatter of blood. Myung-gi emerged from the stall alive but seething, his knuckles raw and his breath ragged. As he stepped out, his gaze immediately locked with yours. Jun-hee stood beside you, clinging to your arm for reassurance, but the look on your face was unreadableâa mix of surprise, understanding, and something softer.
A small, almost imperceptible smile crept across Myung-giâs lips.
In that moment, he made a silent promise: no matter what it took, heâd make sure both of you got out of this alive.
Dae-ho:Â
Dae-ho never believed in love at first sight. With everything heâd endured in his lifeâthe trials, the sacrifices, the relentless pursuit of strengthâhe saw himself as a knight in shining armor, bound by duty but never destined for romance. That belief held firm until he met you.
It happened during the Carousel game. Like In-ho, heâd noticed you beforeâyour stoic demeanor during Green Light, Red Light had left him quietly impressed. The way you moved, swift yet calculated, managing to evade the statueâs unrelenting gaze with precision, was nothing short of remarkable. It was then that something shifted in him. Against all reason, Dae-ho found himself believing in love at first sight.
At first, he thought he was imagining it. He even considered pinching himself, blinking twice to dispel the notion. But the feeling persisted, undeniable and maddening. It wasnât until later, when you tended to his wounds after one of the brutal games, that he finally saw you up closeâand the full weight of your beauty struck him like a blow. Your lashes fluttered delicately as you focused on your task, your fingers gentle but firm as you dabbed rubbing alcohol onto his injuries. He hissed at the sting, his lips parting in a soft groan of pain.
âBe still, please,â you murmured, your tone calm but commanding. Something about the way you said itâthe quiet strength in your voiceâsilenced his protests. He nodded, his muscles relaxing under your care, though the tension in his chest was harder to soothe.
For the first time, Dae-ho felt vulnerableânot because of his wounds, but because of you.
âYou knowâŠâ His voice was low, almost hesitant, but there was a softness to it that made you pause. You couldâve sworn his lips curved into the faintest smile. âI never wouldâve thought Iâd see you like thisâhealing me. Back at the Carousel, I swore to myself Iâd keep you close, that weâd find the door as quickly as anyone else. But then⊠the next thing I knew, Thanos had taken you before I couldâŠâ
He trailed off, his words tinged with shame. The vulnerability in his voice made you glance up at him, your fingers stilling as you finished securing the bandage. His eyes widened at your sudden attention, and he immediately began to stammer.
âIâm sorry. I shouldnât haveââ
You interrupted him with a soft sigh, sliding the remaining bandage back into your pocket. âDonât apologize. We just werenât lucky, thatâs all. I wanted to prove to myself that I could handle itâthat I wasnât just someone who had to count on others.â Your gaze softened as you added, almost reluctantly, âBut⊠I have to admit, not having you there in that roomâit was horrible.â
Your quiet confession was enough to undo him. Without a word, Dae-ho wrapped his arms around you, wincing slightly as the movement pulled at his wounds. Still, he didnât let go. His embrace was warm, protective, and when he leaned in to press a kiss to your forehead, it felt like a promise.
âNevertheless,â he murmured, his voice filled with a quiet reassurance, âIâm just glad we made it through. That youâre here with me.â His lips quirked into a small grin as he added, with a teasing lilt, âAnd that I get to cuddle with you for another night.â
You couldnât help but chuckle at his words, the tension between you easing for a moment. For now, at least, you both had each other.
Gi-hun:Â
Unlike the others, you werenât a player. But you knew Gi-hun from the previous game he was in. He was so certain you had died right in front of his eyes back then that when he saw the mask ripped off your faceârevealing you as one of the Guardsâhis shock was palpable. Another Guard had been taken hostage by the remaining candidates, and though you could have cursed every word that came to mind, you found yourself frozen, your voice stolen by the chaos.
In-ho was the first to recognize you. He knew you were on shift at this hour, but what he hadnât expected was the look of sheer horror that crossed Gi-hunâs face when your name escaped his lips.
âY/N...?â Gi-hunâs voice trembled, disbelief heavy in the air as though he was trying to confirm he wasnât dreaming.
âYou know them?â one of the players sneered, their stolen gun now aimed squarely at Gi-hun. Bodies of your co-workersâfaces you barely had time to registerâlay scattered across the floor, lifeless, just feet away. The metallic tang of blood filled the air.
But this time, Gi-hun wasnât about to let anyone lay a finger on you. He remembered the vow you both had made:
"We belong to each other. And I will get you home."
With those words etched into his resolve, Gi-hun made his move. Chaos erupted as the gun exchanged hands, bullets flying. The air was filled with deafening roars of defiance and the sickening splatter of blood.
In the end, In-ho stood back, his heart cold and unyielding, as he watched Gi-hun fall. The final shot rang out, and his lifeless body crumpled to the ground. Blood speckled your cheek, and you stared in stunned silence at the empty shell of a man you had once loved.
From the shadows, a familiar voice cut through the carnage, low and mocking.
âWelcome back home, love.â
You turned toward the source, and there he was Gi-hunâhis gruesome smile sending chills down your spine.

Nightmare
KANG DAE-HO X READER
Summary- Dae-ho wakes up from a nightmare, with you being the only one by his side to calm him down.
Warnings- Mentions of PTSD, Nightmare, ECT.
A/N- Thank you, @tomgregtruther101 @errruvande @momoko-world @thethreeeyed-raven for encouraging me to write this!
Word Count- 1,223
A low mumble awoke you from your slumber. Typically you were a heavy sleeper, but when it came to Dae-ho it was different. You could have slept through a firework show. Though, the second your beloved got up to use the bathroom- you're up with him.
It bothered the sweet man at first, he hated waking you up. After some reassurance that you didn't mind, he warmed up to the idea. This night, however, was not like many.
It was not uncommon for Dae-Ho to wake up frazzled. He would get something warm to drink from the kitchen, and lay back down. (Praying he didn't wake you). On the much more common occurrence, you would awake with him. In turn, you'd be the one making him something warm to drink, possibly something sweet to snack on. Then the two of you would cuddle until he was fast asleep.
It was honestly comforting for you as well, being able to be his anchor was flattering. He trusted you like no other.
Dae-ho was not Frazzled though, and he didn't wake up to get a beverage.
He was thrashing, hard. His legs slightly kicking, arms jumping up every few seconds. With an impossibly scrunched face, he mumbled again.
"Dae?" You whispered out. The only response you received was a hit to the side, a stray flaring hand had got you.
The mumbling quickly turned louder, now sounding like a cry or groan. It worried you beyond recognition.
"Dae-ho." You pressed a gentle hand to his shoulder. His body jerked away from it. Very uncharacteristic.
A disfigured 'no' left his lips, a struggled sob escaped. He had managed to kick the comforter off of himself, and the bed.
You were now sat on your knees, looming over him. "Dae-ho!" You firmly grabbed both of his shoulders, shaking him.
A loud gasp erupted from both of you as his eyes shot open, you had no time to make a comment. His legs pushed and kicked, separating himself from you. At that singular moment, in his fear struck mind, he didn't seem to recognize you.
He had already found himself against the headboard of the bed, his hands pressing tight against his ears. You had barely blinked in all his movement.
With gaping eyes, a pounding chest, and heavy breathing he looked at you. Almost as if you were the one who hurt him.
"It just me, Dae-ho, its just me..." You spoke as soft and low as you could. You didn't approach any closer, but put your hands up to appear less intimidating.
His eyes just darted across the room in response, body curling further. His lip quivered, face and body drenched in sweat.
"You're okay, you're safe. Dae, you're safe. It's just me... It was just a nightmare, everything is okay..."
He swallowed thick, slowly nodding his head. His gaze now stuck on yours. His scared and nerve wrecked appearance crushed you. It was opposite of the man he appears to show to everyone, only you knew of his nightmares.
"I'm going to come closer, I promise I'm here, I'm real, you're at home. Safe in bed..." You shuffled over on your knees, hands starting at his forearm.
He slightly flinched at your touch, but made no attempt to move away. Your hand caressed across his arm, going to his own hand. You tenderly unravel his tight grip on his head, tangling your fingers in his.
A large sigh left him, his head falling back in frustration. He was now back to reality, though still beat and weary. Water glossed over his eyes. He bit his lip hard, trying to fight away any tears. He thought it would make him seem less of a man to cry in front of you. You couldn't disagree more.
"I'm so sor-" His voice cracked as he tried to speak, a couple tears has managed to escape. You didn't let him finish, his face was pressed deeply into your chest within seconds. He truly didn't know what he was apologizing for, for waking you? For having a nightmare? For his frequent PTSD attacks?
You had quickly taken his frame into your arms. He would have admitted that your knees pressing into his thighs was uncomfortable, but he didn't care right now. You were with him, holding him, and loving him. That's all he cared about.
"Don't you dare apologize, you've done nothing wrong." You cradled his head tight, pressing kisses to the top of his crown.
You managed to twist the two of you around, your back now against the headboard with him in your lap. He was quiet for awhile, you simply rocked him back and forth for a little bit.
His arms found themselves wrapped around your waist. He held onto you for dear life... Almost as if you'd fade away if he let go. You heard his breathing shake every few breaths, but he was calming down.
Continuing to rock, you reached your hands up to his hair. It was half up, half down. The hair tie pulled out of his hair easily enough. You were able to considerably comb through his hair with your fingers. A simple action you knew he loved.
While one hand worked at his soft black hair, another rubbed circles on his back. "Feeling better?"
He sniffled, leaning up to look at you. He couldn't meet your eyes, almost embarrassed. His meek, "Thank you." was accompanied by a nod.
You brushed through his hair, even with him sat up. "Want to talk about it?" You never wanted to pressure him into anything he wasn't comfortable with.
"Just the typical... but you were there, you were who I was shooting... It was like you were the enemy... I just- I can't describe it.. It made no sense-." His voice shook again, so you interrupted him.
"Exactly, baby. It was a nightmare that will never happen... Because I know you would never hurt me, that you would do anything to protect me?" Your tone implied a question.
He nodded furiously, now making direct eye contact. There wasn't a phrase he agreed more with. He looked at you like a loyal puppy.
"See? It was your sweet little mind playing mean tricks on you..." You rested a flat palm to his cheek. Taking in how handsome he looked in the moonlight.
He puffed, now more light hearted, and fell back onto your chest.
"I promise I will keep you safe from all the nightmares and mind games." He was frustrated at your words.
"But that's supposed to be my job..." He said, face conveniently still upon your breast.
You smiled warmly, "Yes, it is. And you fulfill it perfectly. I couldn't be happier. But, you must let me take care of you as well..."
He didn't respond, his internal monologue had a million points to argue back. But he didn't. He embasked in the moment, squeezing you tight again.
You took the silent request, resuming your back rubbing and head scratching.
From experience, you knew he would not fall asleep any time soon. That you'd probably fall asleep before him, no matter how hard you tried to stay up. All you could do for now was whisper how much you love him, play with his hair, and hum silly melodies.
And he was content with that.
A/N- Okay, so erm. I feel like it was rushed (it was), but I also feel that way about all my works. So... Please let me know how I can improve. Also this is my first time writing something like this, so I hope it wasn't terrible. XOXOXOX LOVE YALL

ââ â
the one bed tropeâą with the squid game men
teaser the guards cleared out too many beds after the last game, assuming there are far fewer survivors than expected. so when your group stumbles into the dormitory, you realize the horrible truth: thereâs only one bed for every two players, and your bed is missing!
starring inho gihun (drabbles) & daeho sangwoo ali (hcs) x gn!reader genre fluff fluff all fluff, some nightmares, some crack
a/n wasnt gonna watch s2 but then i saw the lee byunghyun edits and sjsjs theres only few chars here because i havent watched the whole season :( i dont think ill be watching the whole thing any time soon, jus waiting for s3 to drop before watching it all together
inho / youngil / the frontman / 001
youngil stared at the guards while you stared at the bed in front of you. it looked stiff and scratchy, and barely wide enough for one person, let alone two.
âwe can share. i donât mind,â he had said to you, though he had looked tense as well. he sat on the bed, allowing you to scoot over. he laid as close to the edge of the cot as possible.
âoh, it wonât be necessary.â
âwell, what other choice do you have?â
you sighed and nodded, awkwardly laying down next to him on the bed. as your shoulders touched each other, he relaxed visibly, though he was still lying on the edge, and that scared you a little.
âstop lying on the edge like that. youâll fall off,â you warned.
âiâm fine,â he mumbled, staring right up at the ceiling. you kept looking at him, not minding the three times he had glanced your way pointedly at all. âdonât stare.â
âhm, why not?â
âit makes me feel strange,â he said simply.
you nodded, your hands instinctively reaching to your arms to shield yourself from the cold. there was only one blanket with only one bed after all. next thing you knew, you felt the blanket being nudged towards you by youngilâs foot.
âi saw that; itâs not very subtle, you know.â
âwhatâs not very subtle?â he asked innocently. then he shifted his body closer to yours. âitâs not because of you, okay?â he muttered quietly. âi just didnât feel like falling off.â
âare you asking for cuddles now?â you snickered.
âno,â he replied gruffly, though his eyes softened slightly at the sound of your silent laughter.
ânuh uh, i think youâre cold as well,â you lifted the blanket up to accommodate him as well. you then glanced at him expectantly. he hesitated for a moment before slipping under the blanket, taking the moment to tightly grasp your hand. you smiled, resting your head above his shoulder on the shared pillow.
you woke up in the middle of the night to find him softly murmuring your name in his sleep. he looked peaceful, beautifully so. you brushed your hand on his chest to wrap it around him, and felt him waking up as well.
âhush, go back to sleep,â you whispered to him, and he raised an eyebrow at nothing in particular. his eyes were still closed. then he let out a tiny giggle and tightened his grip on your hands.
the guards executed this one perfectly, right as per orders from the frontman; hwang inho will make sure to reward them later, but for now heâd rather stay in this shared bed with you by his side.
seong gihun / 456
âi guess it canât be helped then,â gihun said simply, sitting you down on his bed and pulling the covers over you. âsorry if i snore by the way.â
âwhat do you mean? where will you be sleeping?â
âon the floor, of course.â
âno, youâre not,â you shook your head, patting the empty space beside you. âi still have some place left here for someone.â
âoh, then let me find someone who canât find a partnââ
you pulled the man down onto the bed, his face crashing against the pillow. throwing the covers over him as well, you turned to face him, muttering, âyou really arenât the sharpest tool in the shed.â
âno, uhm, what if i hog the blanket? that would be unpleasantââ
âi can live with that.â
gihun blinked rapidly. âi donât think i should be sleeping. what if someone attacks?â
ârelax, theyâre keeping watch.â
âi think i should keep watch with them,â gihun gulped at your proximity.
âwell, i donât. and you need sleep; have you seen yourself?â you laughed.
gihun beamed at the sound. âthen how about I tell you a story?â
âa story?â
âyeah, to make you happy.â
âwhy though?â you said tiredly.
âto make you laugh. i like seeing you laugh,â he said genuinely, and you nodded in response. his eyes lit up and he began, âso there was this one cow, and it had a baby catââ
âŠ
âgihun?â
he snored.
âgihun!â
he snored again.
did he really fall asleep mid-sentence? you sighed, shaking your head before snuggling up to him. he unconsciously draped an arm over you in his sleep.
throughout the night, he kept tossing and turning, beforeâ
smack !
you clutched your face where gihunâs hand had just made contact. before letting out the loud cuss you wanted to, you peeked over to see if he was asleep. and sure enough, if the snores hadnât let it be known earlier, then the closed eyes did.
âthis dumbass,â you muttered, nuzzling your face into his side.
but what could you do either way? if you complained, heâd be mortified and force you to switch places, and youâd lose a chance to cuddle with him. so you instead figured the occasional smacking would be worth being the first person to see his hair sticking out in every direction with his sheepish grin in the morning.
a/n: iâve only got hcs for the others; sorry guys i prefer my old men inho and gihun :P
daeho / 388
he insists on taking the less comfortable side of the bed
even if that meant he barely has any space MY GNELTMAN
at some point his hand will brush yours (because its an ff duh) and heâll get all startled like :O
but he wonât move away because he decides he likes it
we all know the trauma this man carries :( so donât be surprised when his grip on your hand loosens in the middle of the night and his face scrunches up because heâs having a nightmare
just please cuddle with him :(( heâll try to play it off like itâs nothing but know better!
when you quietly offer comfort, his defenses will crumble, and heâll whisper a quiet thank you to you
in the morning heâll wake up before you and realize just how close the two of you are.
heâs been bearhugging you in his sleep and youâre reciprocating it? hes so confused like ??????? do you wanna get choked or sum yes you do
heâll just quietly stare at you as if heâs in a daze. heâs got that lovesick smile and all, just silently looking at you like youâre the most beautiful thing heâs ever seen you are
he just as silently fixes the blanket on you because he wants to offer as much comfort as you did last night to him
then heâll gently apologize to you for disturbing you, smiling to himself when you grumble in your sleep
sangwoo / 218
this little shit
heâll pretend not to care about you or about the bed or about the entire situation at all
but you can see how he tries to be as subtle as possible when adjusting the pillow under your head to make sure youâre comfortable
youâre practically begging him to accept his feelings atp but this man is a menace
as soon as he saw the one bed he started calculating how much space youâll take and how much heâll get
if you shift closer in your sleep heâll freeze for a moment but he wonât pull away
if you move a lot in your sleep he wonât say anything just yet
but expect to be bombarded with complaints when you wake up in the morning
he watches you out of the corner of his eye, something he describes as âjust trying to protect youâ by âkeeping watchâ but you know heâs just dazzled by your beauty who isnt
heâll lie awake for a while staring up at that huge piggy bank that his future lies in, and he knows he canât love you like he wants to, but he hopes that just this once his brain will accept what his heart feels
when the sunlight hits his face in the morning, heâll look so peaceful that it makes even ali question his mood
all the while gihun is just staring in horror at sangwoo like he got some puss
ali / 199
THE POOKIEST POOKIE
heâs so shy UGH i jus wanna gobble him up sjsjsjkgnskjn
but he canât help smiling softly when he realizes how comfortable you seem to be around him
heâll offer to sleep on the cold hard floor and insists you take the blanket for yourself, but duh you donât allow that
so with a grin on his face he lies down next to you
he asks you if you need more space at least 10 times, heâs that nervous
the blanket stays on you though, he canât risk you feeling cold or uncomfy because of him GNELTMENANN
heâll stay awake if you want someone to talk to, or to make sure youâre warm enough, or even just to admire you
but if you donât want that, heâll pull an aurora and fall asleep so quickly you donât even realize it
his hand stays brushing against yours under the blanket though, and you feel so warm and fuzzy next to him
heâs a snuggler, so thereâll be times where heâll shift very close to you in his sleep, not realizing the hand heâs keeping on your waist or the head heâs resting on your chest
someone points it out in the morning and heâs so flustered he apologizes profusely even though you keep telling him you didnât mind it all
definitely says something like âi slept with you, remember?â because he doesnât realize itâs an innuendo

âââŠââă
It all started with a simple game.
Youâd been on your way home, drowning in stress and overdue bills, when a man in a sharp suit approached you at the train station.
âCare for a little fun?â he asked, holding up a red and blue envelope.
At first, you wanted to refuse. But his easy charmâand your desperationâdrew you in. He explained the slap-match game, and soon you were caught in the strange, exhilarating rhythm of winning and losing. By the end, you were breathless, laughing despite the sting on your cheek.
âNot bad,â he said, handing over the cash with a smile that felt too warm, too genuine for a stranger.
You couldnât stop thinking about him after that. When you ran into him again a few days later, he acted like it was coincidence.
âMaybe itâs fate,â he teased.
Soon, he was everywhereâbuying you coffee, walking you home, and making your life feel just a little less heavy. He made you laugh, listened to your frustrations, and looked at you like you were the only person in the world.
One night, after weeks of growing closer, you found yourself in his arms. Youâd invited him in after a long evening, your walls lowered by exhaustion and the warmth of his presence. You were full of ecstasy after that night. The way his lips kissed your neck, the way his thrusts were so sensual.
âYouâre special, you know,â he murmured as his fingers traced lazy patterns on your back.
âDo you mean that?â you whispered, scared to hear the answer.
âI wouldnât say it if I didnât.â
His words were your undoing. That night, you let him see all of youâyour fears, your flaws, and your dreams. For the first time in years, you felt safe.
The illusion shattered when he slid the card across the table.
âWhatâs this?â you asked, staring at the embossed logo. Circle, triangle, square.
âA chance to change your life,â he said, his tone eerily calm.
You frowned, a pit of unease forming in your stomach. âWhat kind of chance?â
âItâs a game,â he explained. âAn opportunity to win enough money to solve all your problems.â
âWhy are you giving me this?â Your voice wavered, the trust youâd built with him suddenly fragile.
âBecause I care about you,â he said, his gaze steady.
His face softened, but he didnât retract the card. âI believe in you, Y/n. More than you believe in yourself.â
His words felt like a betrayal wrapped in a compliment. Against your better judgment, you took the card, driven by desperation and the hope that maybe he was right.
The games were worse than you could have imagined.
Every death chipped away at your soul, and every betrayal reminded you of his. But you refused to break. Gi-hun became your lifeline, his determination and kindness pulling you through when you felt like giving up.
âWeâre going to make it,â he promised one night, his voice steady. âWe have to.â
You survived, but at a cost. The prize money felt like blood money, and the nightmares lingered long after the games ended.
A month later, you discovered the pregnancy.
At first, you were terrified. The thought of raising a child alone, of explaining where her father was and why he wasnât around, felt overwhelming. But when you heard her heartbeat for the first time, everything changed.
You named her Hana, meaning âflower.â She became the anchor that kept you grounded, her laughter a reminder that there was still beauty in the world.
When she was born, you held her close, tears streaming down your face. âYouâre my miracle,â you whispered.
Hana grew into a bright, curious toddler who filled your life with light. But you couldnât shake the shadow of her fatherâthe man who had once made you feel safe and then abandoned you to the wolves.
Two years later, you decide to visit Gi-hun. He had become like a brother to you, someone who understood the darkness youâd endured. As you climb the stairs to his apartment, Hana babbles in your arms, clutching her favorite stuffed rabbit.
But when you reach the door, the sound of voices stops you cold.
âAre you sure about this?â Gi-hunâs voice, tense and uncertain.
âI never force anyone,â a familiar voice replies.
Your heart races as you push the door open.
Gi-hun and the salesman sit at the table, a revolver between them. The salesman looks as composed as ever, while Gi-hun is pale and trembling.
âWhat the hell is going on here?â you demand.
The salesman looks up, his eyes widening slightly as he sees youâand the child in your arms. âY/n.â
Gi-hun stammers, âItâs not what it looks likeââ
âYouâre playing Russian roulette!â you snap, your voice rising. âHow is that not exactly what it looks like?â
The salesmanâs gaze flicks to Hana. âYou have a daughter,â he says softly, putting the pieces together.
âDonât you dare,â you hiss, clutching her closer. âYou donât get to talk about her. You donât get to act like you care.â
âI do care,â he says, standing slowly. âI never wanted to hurt you.â
âYou lied to me,â you spit. âYou used me. You sent me to those games knowing I might die.â
âI gave you a choice,â he says, his voice calm but firm.
âYou gave me a death sentence,â you fire back. âAnd now youâre here, dragging Gi-hun into your twisted games? Havenât you done enough damage?â
The salesmanâs jaw tightens. âItâs not that simple.â
âNo,â you say, your voice shaking. âItâs exactly that simple. You destroy peopleâs lives and pretend itâs for their own good. But you donât get to do that to us anymore.â
He looks at you for a long moment, his expression unreadable. Then he nods, his eyes lingering on Hana one last time.
âGoodbye, Y/n,â he says, his voice barely above a whisper.
As the door closes behind him, you sink into a chair, trembling.
Gi-hun reaches out, his voice filled with regret. âIâm sorryââ
âItâs not your fault,â you say, cutting him off. âHe manipulates people. Thatâs what he does.â
Hana wriggles in your arms, her tiny hand brushing your cheek. âMama,â she says softly, her voice filled with love.
You press a kiss to her forehead, tears slipping down your face. âWeâre okay,â you whisper, more to yourself than anyone else.
Gi-hun watches you, his eyes filled with both guilt and gratitude. âThank you,â he says quietly.
âFor what?â
âFor saving me.â
You meet his gaze, your resolve hardening. âWe save each other.â

in desperate need of some NSFW dae ho head cannons?? đđ
DAE HO â NSFW ALPHABET
A/N: M and X are skipped. Warnings: Smut, P in V, oral, soft!Dae-ho, maybe a little OOC.
A = Aftercare (what theyâre like after sex)
âź Very doting. Always wants to make sure you are okay. Will wipe you off with a towel and have water on both sides of the bed (he knows how exhausted you are) or will just take a nice long, hot bath with his darling.
B = Body part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partners)
âź He doesnât really have a favorite part about you, he just loves you the way you areâŠBUTâŠhe does like being able to hold and compare your small hands to his large calloused ones.
âź For him, itâs probably his semi-muscular arms. He loves the way they engulf you as he wraps you in his warm embrace. Truly such a wholesome guy. <3
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
âź Dae-ho cums a lot. Whether he pulls out or not, itâs everywhere. On the sheets, on you, on him. Even when he releases inside of you, he will watch in awe as it trickles out of your pretty hole.
D = Dirty secret (pretty self explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
âź He kind of has a breeding kink. He desperately wants to get you knocked up so he can experience having a big family again (like how he grew up with so many older sisters). That and he thinks you would look so pretty pregnant.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what theyâre doing?)
âź Doesnât have a lot of experience, but he knows what heâs doing and how to make you feel good. Has had one or two partners before you at max.
F = Favorite position (this goes without saying)
âź Definitely missionary. What can he say? Heâs very Vannilla coded. He loves looking down at your beautiful face as he slowly lumos himself in and out of your holeâHolding your hands as he makes love to you and fucks you silly.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
âź I can see Dae-ho being a very lighthearted individual during steamy time, making maybe one or two jokes as he fucks you dumb.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they?)
âź Well groomed, not a lot of hair, but itâs definitely managed well.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
âź So so so romantic! Will constantly be telling you how beautiful you are as he listens to your wanton moans and suckles on your nipples.
J = Jack off (masturbation headcanon)
âź I honestly donât see him doing this. Why jerk off when he can just go to you? If you arenât in the mood though, he will probably just want you close as he does his thing.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
âź Definitely breeding kink, as mentioned earlier. Dae-ho just wants a big family.
L = Location (favorite places to do the do)
âź The bedroom (bed) or the shower.
N = No (something they wouldnât do, turn offs)
âź Anything that makes you uncomfortable. Dae-ho would be a true gentlemen and is the king of consent. He definitely puts your pleasure above his own.
âź As for him, Dae-ho doesnât care for roleplay (why would you want him to be anyone but himself? It will hurt his feelings!) or BDSM. Why would he want to purposefully hurt his partner?
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
âź Prefers to give. He loves tasting your sweet sweet juices.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
âź Very slow and sensual. You and Dae-ho donât fuck. You make love.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
âź Heavily dislikes them. If youâre going to do it, why not do the full thing?
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
âź Is willing to do (almost) anything to make you happy.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
âź 3-4 rounds. This guy was in the marines, of course he has stamina. Although, he will stop if you pass out before heâs done.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
âź Prefers not to use them on you or himself.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
âź Will tease you with his fingers and tongue only a little bit. Doesnât want you to suffer too much while waiting for his cock.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
âź Can get a little loud. Dae-ho will make little grunts, but every once in a while will let out a wanton moan.
W = Wild card (a random headcanon for the character)
âź Would put your pleasure and well-being over his any day.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
âź Like once every two weeks. He doesnât want to push you to hard or make you uncomfortable, but does love showing how much he loves you through these âactivitiesâ.
Z = Zzz (how quickly they fall asleep afterwards)
âź Always waits until you are asleep, but after that, he is pretty quick to pass out.

They React To You Voting X
GN! Reader Oneshots including
x Thanos/Choi Su Bong/Player 230, x Lee Myung-gi/Player 333, x Kang Dae-ho/Player 388
Description: After making an ally in the first game it is now time to vote, but how will your ally think of you voting X? (this can either be read as a stand alone oneshot or as a second part to this previous post).
Warnings: None
Thanos/Choi Su Bong/Player 230
As the significantly smaller group of people walked back to the room after the first game Thanos, seemingly officially an ally, stuck by your side. His lips moved silently as he rapped to himself, not noticing how shell shocked you were. As soon as you sat on one of the metal steps, you could feel your body fold into yourself. You could not believe what just happened out there.
âI think we were one of the first across,â Thanos bragged to you as he sat down next to you.
You didnât answer, not really hearing him as he spoke to you. He noticed your wide eyes fixed on the ground in front of you with a far off look. He leaned over towards you, his shoulder bumping against yours.
âHey, are you good?â he asked, dipping his head in an attempt to meet your eyes with his own.
His close proximity pulled you out of your own world, but it did nothing to ease the worries rushing through you. He couldnât stop his expression from mirroring your own as your head turned towards him. He frowned when he realized how upset you were.Â
His finger went to his cross as he said, âYou know, if youâre nervous one of these could help yo-â
He was interrupted by pink guards entering the room and everyone gasping and ducking away from the armed triangle workers, you among them. Thanos leaned forward in interest, simultaneously blocking you from the eyeline of the guards as you shrunk back further in fear. They assured the players they werenât here to âeliminateâ anyone else at that moment, nor were they the ones collecting on everyoneâs debt. Instead they were here to announce the results of the game.
Thanosâ eyes doubled in size as he watched the stacks of money drop into the piggy bank. You felt your stomach doing somersaults, not nearly as enraptured by the view as the lanky, purple-haired man beside you.
âSee? Donât stress. We didnât do that game for nothing,â Thanos said in a futile attempt to comfort you.
âThatâs not the problem, Thanos,â you said quietly.
He shook his head, not willing to understand what you were trying to get across.
âBut Iâm watching out for you,â he assured you, âSo there is nothing to worry about. You donât need to worry about them-â
He pointed a ringed finger towards the guards before continuing.
âOr any of them.â
He pointed towards the group of players looking up at the piggy bank.
âAnd now we donât have to worry-â
His eyes drifted back up to the ceiling where the piles of cash were suspended.
âAbout money either.â
The guards started to speak, explaining a vote was going to be held between the players. They were offering a choice: stay or go. As the two of you stood up and waited for your number to be called you knew exactly what you wanted, and with a sinking feeling you knew what the player next to you wanted too.
âWe should vote the same, yeah? Since weâre allies?â Thanos said, turning to you. Apparently, he was thinking the very same thing as you.
âUm,â you said, your shyness overpowering you.
You felt a blush creep up on your cheeks as he flung an arm around your shoulders and pulled you in a little.
âVote O and Iâll tell you a secret,â he said with a smile, trying to tempt you over to his side.
âA secret?â you asked, doubting someone this outgoing and seemingly open really had that many secrets. Less than an hour ago he was openly taking drugs right in front of you.
âItâs a good one,â he whispered, ducking down close to you so you could hear him over the din of people moving around. His number was called and he gave your shoulder a squeeze before leaving you to vote O. He turned back, giving you a cocky wink, before joining the other Oâs.
You felt your heart pound as your own number was called. You knew how Thanos wanted you to vote, and he wasnât the only one. There were a lot of players voting O, but you hoped maybe the tides would turn. One game was enough for you.
Thanos gave a defeated huff as you voted X. He watched you walk to the other side of the room, waiting for you to glance over to him. But you avoided his eyes, instead watching the votes slowly grow on the board. He desperately tried to catch your gaze, wanting to talk to you. But unfortunately for him, you two had to keep to your sides as the vote crept on.
The vote was over and the Oâs had won. You walked over to the bed you had woken up in earlier this day. You had a sinking feeling you would be stuck here longer than you thought, and unfortunately you had just gotten rid of your one ally. You were just laying down when someone spoke up in the bed next to you.
âSo do you not care about any of us?â the player asked, glaring at you from the mattress they sat on.
âWhat?â you asked worriedly as you sat back up.
âSome of us have some serious debt, you know. And here all you Xâs are, not really caring what kind of world you are putting us back into if these games end and we donât make enough money,â they snarled.
âNo I- I didnât mean to put anyone in danger. I just think place this isnât safe either, and I donât want anyone getting hu-â
âIt gets a little hard and you just run away, is that it?â they asked.
âBack off,â a deep voice said, and soon Thanos was walking up the steps, getting between you and the player accusing you. They took in his tall stature and decided to listen, getting up with a scoff before walking away. Thanos watched with a glare as they retreated. As soon as they left he placed his hand on the top of the bed frame before leaning down to your eye level.
âTheyâre right, you know,â he told you, his signature cocky smirk absent from his face.
âWhat do you mean?â you asked.
âThe life waiting for me out there isnât exactly a happy one,â he explained.
âWe could die in here. Any life is better than none,â you said, desperately hoping your one ally could see your side.
He shook his head with a sigh before speaking up again, âAgree to disagree.â
âIs that your secret?â you asked, your voice quiet.
Thanos felt his heart thud as you looked at him with worry. Nobody cared about him quite like this before, and you were basically a stranger. He decided he couldnât leave someone as sweet as you to the wolves, no matter how you voted.
âNah,â he said, a small smirk turning a corner of his mouth.
You noticed that half smile, hoping against hope maybe the two of you could still stick together for the games even though you didnât agree.
âSo, what is your secret?â you asked.
You absentmindedly leaned forward, your curiosity taking over. Thanos felt his heartbeat quicken once again as you shrunk the distance between the two of you. He wasnât used to being so nervous around a girl like this. He found the nerves somehow bolstered his ego and he decided to mirror you, leaning towards you till the two of you were only inches apart. As he moved, you finally realized just how close the two of you had become. You blushed as his lips broke into a full smile.
âDonât you wish you knew,â he said, then with a click of his tongue continued on, âToo bad you wonât hear it. At least this time.â
With that he reached a hand out, tapping a finger twice against the red patch on your jacket. Clearly, he was not above bribery.
Lee Myung-gi/Player 333
As everyone filtered back into the main room after the first game you finally realized just how exhausted all the stress had left you feeling. You were ready to lay down and just crash, but as you approached your bed you realized all your âneighborsâ hadnât made it through. You felt tears start to prick at your eyes as you looked at your singular state.Â
Myung-gi hadnât walked in with you, but he had kept an eye out for you since the first game ended. He watched you crawl into your bed, also noticing the emptiness of the other beds around you just as you had. He saw you suddenly ducking your head to your chest. He subconsciously leaned forward from where he sat, watching your hand occasionally wipe across your cheek.Â
He sighed to himself, as if he should have expected this. It didn't help that even before the first game he had decided you were one of the more fragile players.Â
You were cursing the lack of privacy in this place, trying to hide the tears slipping down your cheeks the best you could. Apparently, you werenât doing a very good job of it because soon someone was standing beside your bed. You looked up, spotting Myung-gi looking down at you.
He felt a little twinge of worry as your red rimmed eyes looked back into his, âAre you okay, y/n?â
âOf course,â you said, hurriedly trying to wipe the tears that wouldnât stop coming.Â
Myung-gi glanced around the room, trying to gauge if anyone else was noticing your crying. He was a little paranoid that someone might think of you as vulnerable if they saw and would come after you in the next game (ignoring the fact it was the very reason he decided to offer himself as your ally). You noticed him looking around and did the same. You tried to quell the tears, but you just couldn't seem to calm down.
âIâm sorry, I just-â
âYou donât need to apologize,â he said.Â
He offered his hand towards you. You took it, and he gently pulled you off the bed and onto the step beside it. He stepped in front of you, blocking you from the view of the rest of the room.
âJust take a beat,â he suggested.
You nodded, taking a few deep breaths. You felt your nerves start to calm, although you werenât sure it was the calm breathing. Your anxiety quieted as Myung-gi kept you away from prying eyes.Â
After a few moments those damned tears finally stopped. Myung-gi sat down beside you, smiling to himself when he heard you try to steady your breath; it was still hitching in your throat every so often after all the crying.
âSorry. It was all those empty beds, and then I started to feel all alone, and-â
As you tried to explain, your voice wavered. You were just about to start crying again when Myung-gi spoke up, âYou know, thereâs an empty space below my bunk.â
You gave him a hopeful look, not confident enough to invite yourself to take up the bed (even though it was clearly what he had been insinuating).
He waited a few moments for you to say something, but he realized after a bit you werenât going to speak up, and so he continued, âIt might be better for you to hang out there instead of by yourself here.â
âThanks,â you said, feeling a flood of relief.
âWeâre allies, weâve got to stick together,â he said with a casual shrug, but he couldnât stop his chest from puffing up a little when you gave him a smile.
A group of pink guards entered the room, putting an end to your conversation. Myung-gi stood up once again, keeping you behind him as the jumpsuited group approached people. Soon people were begging the guards to give them a chance to pay off their debts, getting in front of them on their knees.
Your own anxiety took over, and you moved to join them. Begging for forgiveness seemed better to you than just waiting for them to end you instead. As soon as you stood up Myung-gi grabbed your wrist, stopping you.
âHang on,â he said, his focus on the guards who seemed to be trying to talk over the crying players.
Soon they explained they were simply here to share the effects of the game, and to conduct a vote. You were watching the money fall into the piggy bank, but Myung-gi was thinking about the aforementioned vote. He knew as he watched those bills fill up the clear container it would not be enough.
You made a move to stand and join everyone else gathering to vote when Myung-gi took a knee in front of where you sat, stopping you from getting up just yet. He grabbed both your hands in his, keeping steady eye contact with you.
âHow are you going to vote?â he asked, already knowing the answer.
âWhat do you mean? Donât you want to go home?â you asked, surprised he even needed to ask.
âOf course I do, butâŠâ he said, trailing off as he tried to find a way to put it. He gave your hands a squeeze as he spoke up again, trying to convey how serious he was, âListen, I know that looks like a lot of money, but when itâs divided among everyone it wonât amount to barely anything.â
âI donât care,â you said, tears once again pricking at the corner of your eyes.
âWeâve got each other, right? With an ally weâve got an advantage compared to everyone else. We can easily make it through one more game,â he said to you, trying to convince you.Â
You nervously chewed the inside of your cheek, now feeling much more unsure of what you should do in this next moment. He noticed you starting to waver and spoke up one more time, pulling you in slightly as he did.
âIâve got you. I promise,â he said, speaking much quieter as if what he said was only meant for you to hear, despite there not being anyone else by you.
âAll players please come onto the floor,â a guard said from their spot in the front of the room, looking over in the direction of the two of you.
Myung-gi let go of your hands with a tense sigh before letting you start down the steps in front of him. As the two of you waited for your own numbers to be called his eyes continued to flick over to you, trying to read your expression.
You were called up first, and you couldnât bear to look over at Myung-gi before walking down the path between the small groupings of O voters and X voters. Myung-gi felt his shoulders drop a little as the tally changed. You had voted X. Your own shoulders dropped just the same as his when just a few minutes later he voted O. You both somehow managed to disappoint the other.
As the voting concluded, you fell into a quiet despair. You couldn't believe the Oâs had won. You walked dejectedly to your empty bunk, wanting to just sleep your sinking feeling off. You were stopped in your tracks by your previous ally.
âI thought you might change your mind,â Myung-gi admitted.
âI thought youâd change yours too,â you said. Once again, those stupid waterworks started up and a few tears leaked out of the corners of your eyes.
Myung-gi felt a wave of guilt as he watched you start to cry. He knew this time it was partly his fault, and he found himself hating being the reason you were upset. He had to stop himself from reaching out and wiping the tears off your cheek. Instead, he just stood in front of you, desperately trying to think of some way to make it all better.
âI just want to go home, Myung-gi,â you said, your voice cracking a little as you tried to keep your composure.
âIâll make sure you get home,â he said without thinking, making promises he couldn't keep. Anything to get you to stop hurting.
âThen why did you vote X?â you asked helplessly.
âI told you, I canât go just yet. Thatâs not enough,â he said, pointing up to the barely filled piggy bank.
âFine,â you said with a sniff, side stepping around him.
He followed you like a dog with its tail tucked between its legs, wracked with guilt.
âItâs not like I want to stay here,â he said, trying to explain.
You stopped and turned on your heels, coming face to face with him. You fixed him with a glare, but with your tear stained cheeks and naturally soft demeanor you couldnât quite pull off being intimidating.
âBut apparently you donât want to leave either,â you said.
As unintimidating as you were, Myung-gi still felt a wave of shame. He couldnât bear to keep looking into your red-rimmed eyes and instead let you walk away. As you both went to your separate sides of the room, he couldnât stop his gaze from drifting over to you.
You had laid down, pulling the covers over your head at a futile attempt of some privacy. Anxiety poked at him as you laid there, not even bothering to get up to eat. At lights out Myung-gi stayed up, his nerves not letting him sleep knowing you were by yourself, completely vulnerable. Instead, he stayed up all night, watching over you from across the room, making sure nothing happened to you. He meant what he said, he was getting you home.
Kang Dae-ho/Player 388
Dae-ho clearly wanted you as an ally, sticking beside you since the first game. The two of you were more than a little shocked with the events that had just played out. The two of you were sitting on one of the many steps among the bunk beds, trying to process everything. Dae-ho glanced over to you, noticing you subconsciously pulling at a loose thread on your sleeve. He reached out, his fingers just barely grazing across your hand.
The gesture managed to focus the anxious thoughts clouding your brain, and finally you stopped picking at the thread. You looked over to Dae-ho, who was giving you a comforting smile.
âAre you okay?â he asked.
You were silent for a moment, not sure how to answer that. You found yourself getting pulled back into your mind, terrifying images flashing through your brain. Dae-ho noticed your eyes start to glaze over. He shifted his foot, nudging at your own foot. You blinked, once again finding yourself having to be pulled out of your own thoughts.
âSorry. I just⊠I donât know. I guess Iâm okay. Or maybe⊠Not?â you asked, trying so hard to find the words.
âYeah,â he agreed with a solemn nod.
The two of you fell into another silence, unsure of what to say to each other. Dae-ho noticed Player 456 sitting and talking to another player. He sat up a little straighter, trying to get a better look.
âThatâs the player who knew what was going to happen, right?â he asked, nodding with his head in the playerâs direction.
âYeah, I think so,â you said.
Dae-ho seemed lost in thought for a few moments before speaking up again.
âWhat if we join him and his friend?â he said, sounding a little excited at the prospect of growing your group of two.
You felt your nerves rise up at the suggestion. It wasnât a bad idea. Actually, you knew it was a really good one. But you were never good at making friends. Your shy nature always seemed to ruin every social interaction you had ever tried for, not including the interaction between you and the man sitting next to you at that very moment (but that was only thanks to him). You thought of all the ways you could mess up when talking to possible new allies, fidgeting once again with the new string as you did.
Dae-ho watched you attentively, easily reading the stress in your expression. He moved a little closer, his shoulder gently bumping into yours. As soon as you turned towards him, he gave you a reassuring smile. You tried your best to smile back, but in truth you were worried about ruining his shot at getting more allies.
âMaybe, you should go by yourself,â you said.
As soon as he heard your suggestion his smile fell. You couldnât stand to see him look so dejected, and you cast your eyes to the ground.
âYeah, sure,â he said with a little nod. He moved back away from you, giving you space. He chastised himself in his head, thinking he must have clearly misread the situation.
âI will just mess it up for you,â you admitted.
Talking so frankly about your shortcomings left you feeling so embarrassed. You were glad you had already turned your head to keep your eyes facing the ground. That meant, at the very least, he couldnât see the blush painting your cheeks.Â
Dae-ho took a moment, letting your admission sink in. He started to laugh a little, in spite of himself. You looked up with confusion, and he cut his laughter short after seeing how red your cheeks were.
âWait, oh, I didnât mean to embarrass you,â he said, and without thinking he reached his hand out and brushed it across your flushed cheeks.
That gesture did calm your nerves a little, but did nothing to quell your blush.
âI just thought⊠I thought you were just trying to get rid of me,â he admitted with another laugh.
Your eyes widened as you spoke up, âNo! I didnât want to get rid of you! Honestly, I was giving you the choice to get rid of me, because I- Oh, god.â
You covered your face with your hands out of frustration with yourself.
âIf it makes you feel any better, Iâm definitely not planning on taking you up on that offer,â he said.
âIâm just going to mess everything up for you, trust me,â you muttered through your fingers.
âNo, youâre not,â he said with a light hearted scoff.
âNo, really. You need allies, and I-â
âIâm not leaving you behind! Besides, Iâm not sure how you think you come off, but youâre actually pretty,â he just barely stopped himself from saying cute and instead said, âuh, charming.â
âReally?â you said, finally removing your hands from your face.
His breath hitched in his throat as he looked into your eyes, your cheeks still a little pink as your embarrassment slowly eased up. He could swear kindness was literally radiating off of you. To him, you glowed.
He was barely able to find his voice, taken completely by both the beauty on the inside and out. He was only able to answer with a quiet, simple, âYeah.â
âThanks,â you said with a grateful smile, âThatâs really sweet of you.â
Before either of you could say another word the pink guards filtered into the rooms. Dae-ho instinctively put his arm out across you, protecting you just like he had in that first game. But soon you both realized they werenât here to hurt you. They were only here to announce the results of the first game.Â
You both turned your heads upwards to watch the money fall into the empty piggy bank. You couldnât keep watching the money fall, knowing exactly what it represented. It was stomach churning, so when the guards announced a vote you knew exactly what vote you were casting.
âA vote?â Dae-ho said, sounding as hopeful as you felt. You both were practically sprinting down to the floor, not able to get the vote started soon enough.
Dae-ho leaned over to you as everyone chattered, milling around as they discussed what they were going to vote, âLetâs go home.â
You both pressed X, and Dae-ho found you among the group after he voted. He stood beside you, smiling once again. But it was a little more nervous than before. You felt your own anxiety peaking as the tally ticked up and up. You held your breath, so nervous to admit the Xâs may not win.
âWhy are people voting O?â you asked, not comprehending why anyone wanted to stay.
âI donât know, but itâll be okay,â Dae-ho answered, trying his best to reassure you.
âYou sure?â you asked, more than willing to believe him despite the very real dangers you and him were both stuck in.
âAbsolutely,â he told you with a definitive nod.
You both turned back to watch the vote continue on. As another player voted O, your hand subconsciously shot out and grabbed Dae-hoâs. He immediately gave your hand a gentle squeeze, knowing just how you felt. He held your hand through the entire vote, occasionally rubbing his thumb in a comforting circle whenever another O vote was cast.
You were crestfallen when you lost the vote, not at all sure what to do. Dae-ho was about to say something when you spoke up first.
âWe need to talk to those other players,â you said, trying to muster a determination you never had when making friends.
You were filled with nerves, not at all giving a vibe of confidence, but Dae-ho was still impressed with you. He simply nodded, and not wanting to throw you off, he silently followed as you headed towards Player 456âs corner. He couldnât help but smile when he saw you square your shoulders as you got closer. Despite not being able to see your expression, he knew you were trying to keep up your momentary confidence.
He also followed you, although with some confusion, when you suddenly made a hard right turn a few steps away from Player 456 and his friend. Instead you quickly climbed up to the bunk bed above them.
You cast your eyes down a little as Dae-ho followed suit. You both ended up sitting on a high up bed, you with very hot cheeks and him patiently for you to explain what had happened.
âI chickened out,â you admitted.
âYeah, a little bit,â he agreed.Â
You looked up to see him grinning at you, and a wave of relief washed over you when you realized he wasnât upset.
âItâs okay. Iâll talk to them,â he said with an untroubled shrug. Suddenly the guards were entering again, this time with food. Dae-hoâs eyebrows raised and he spoke again, âRight after lunch.â

Silent Vengeance / Lee Myung-gi
summarize: Who would have thought that a man who sees himself as powerful could be reduced to selfishness by obsession, only for a knight in armor to heal a broken heart?
English isn't my first language, so I apologize for any grammatical errors, but I really hope you enjoy it! based on s2 squid game so spoilers ahead!
Thanosâs pride and the attention he commanded among the crowd stirred bitterness in some of the contestantsâyours included. It baffled many that a retired rapper would stoop to participate in such brutal games, especially one that involved splashes of blood staining his clothes.
It wasnât until after the Green Light, Red Light game that his focus shifted. He noticed a particular figureâa silhouette that intrigued him more than he cared to admit. The way you sprinted with precision, timing each step perfectly to freeze at the exact moment, or how you yanked another contestantâs hair to throw them off balance, was a calculated display of survival. That endurance, paired with your quiet defiance of the chaos around youâincluding his ownâcaptivated Thanos from the very beginning.
While Thanos reveled in his lingering popularity, relishing how some followed his every move like sheep to a shepherd, he couldnât ignore one undeniable truth: for once, he wasnât the center of attention. That honor belonged to you.
And never in a thousand of years would he see you here. In flesh. Not after the break up.
Like many others, you had joined the Games with hopes of a better lifeâa seductive promise whispered by the Salesman. His grotesque smile lingered in your mind whenever you stole a moment to rest, though such moments were rare. Still, your demeanor betrayed none of the turmoil beneath. Your stony expression, coupled with your tendency to linger at the edges, observing the chaos with silent disdain, set you apart. To you, the Games were a grim spectacleâa macabre theater of desperation and misplaced hopes.
Despite this, a few contestants managed to draw you into sparse, fleeting conversations. Thanos, however, stood apartânot because you sought him out, but because he was the last person youâd have ever chosen to engage with. And yet, it fascinated him. Knowing your shared history, he found it almost poetic to see you here, standing as a quiet, untouchable force while his own magnetism faltered in your shadow.
âThis prick is getting on my nerves,â someone muttered, their voice sharp enough to cut through the murmurs of the room. The words belonged to 333. His number stood out just as much as his presence as he slid into the seat beside you. Youâd learned his name was Lee Myung-gi. He extended a hand toward you, his lips curling into a soft grin that hinted at practiced charm. You nodded slightly, mirroring the gesture out of courtesy. âY/N,â you said plainly.
There was a pause before Myung-giâs gaze flicked toward Thanos, his tone lowering conspiratorially. âI donât mean to stir the pot or anything, but... word is, you and Thanos were a thing. He says youâre pretending not to remember him. And thatâs why youââ
â333!â
Thanosâs voice cut through like a blade, silencing Myung-gi mid-sentence. Both of you turned your heads in unison, meeting Thanosâs unyielding stare. You recognized that look immediatelyâbrows furrowed, his glare burning with thinly veiled fury. It was a warning, one that promised Myung-gi wouldnât survive another word in your direction. The intensity of it could rival any of the Games themselves.
âYou should go,â you said quietly, your tone flat but decisive. Your eyes barely glanced at Myung-gi, let alone at Thanos. Yet the weight of his gaze pressed heavily on you, and something inside you churnedâa mix of unease, defiance, and something far harder to name.
You wanted to let loose a string of curses, every sharp word you could think ofâbut you stopped yourself. The memory of a promise lingered in the back of your mind.
Never speak to one another after the breakup.
It was a fragile vow, one you both had clung to out of pride or necessity. But deep down, you knew it was only a matter of time before it shattered completely.
It wasnât until the bathroom game that the tension reached its breaking point. Thanos never imagined heâd find himself mere feet away from you again, let alone in the confines of a separate room. Yet here he was, his determination undeterred, even as 333 hovered too close for his liking. Thanos wasnât subtle about his intentionsâhe wouldnât let anyone, least of all Myung-gi, encroach on what he still felt was his.
The image of you and 333 pressing X together during the last game still burned in Thanosâs mind, a fresh wound that refused to heal. It festered, replaying over and over like a mocking refrain, igniting a possessive anger he could no longer contain.
As he stepped into the bathroom hall, his focus zeroed in on Myung-gi, the irritation bubbling into something darker. âYouâre getting all worked up. So there is something going on,â Thanos said, his voice low and edged with menace.
He stepped closer, his gaze sharp and unyielding. âIf you press X again tomorrow...â Thanos leaned in, his words a venomous whisper, âIâll cut off your finger and give it to her.â
Myung-giâs jaw tightened at the threat, his discomfort evident. But what unsettled him more was the reason youâd pressed X with him in the first place. It wasnât a calculated strategy or an empty gestureâit was a fleeting grasp at safety, something you rarely allowed yourself. While you were usually stoic, Myung-giâs quiet acts of care had chipped away at your defenses, enough to make you question your own resolve.
Thanos couldnât stand it. The rules of the Games were unambiguous, but what he thought he sawâthe almost imperceptible closeness between you and Myung-gi, the way your lips hovered as if to kissâwas enough to set his blood ablaze. The possibility, imagined or not, was more than he could bear.
And that was the last straw.Â
âAnd ask her out. Sheâll love it.âÂ
âYou asshole!â Thanos barely registered the punch before his jaw throbbed, the sharp sting waking something primal in him. His thumb brushed over his chin, checking for blood, before he retaliated with equal ferocity. âYou motherfucker!â he snarled, his fist connecting with satisfying force.
Chaos erupted as their hands found each otherâs throats, both grappling for dominance. Myung-giâs back slammed against the bathroom stall, the sound echoing in the tight space. They crashed to the floor in a tangle of limbs, fists flying without restraint. âYour money, your girl, your lifeâtheyâre all mine!â Thanos spat, driving his fist into Myung-giâs cheek with enough force to make his knuckles ache.
But then, everything shifted. Thanos froze, his breath hitching as blood sprayed from his own mouth, splattering across Myung-giâs face. The sudden realization of injury shocked him into silence. Without a word, he pulled back, retreating to the shadows of the stall, his chest heaving with ragged breaths.
And yet, in that moment of pain and rage, his mind wasnât on the fightâit was on you. Always you.
The bathroom games were over. The stalls were scrubbed clean of the chaos that had unfolded, leaving little trace of what had transpired. As you and Myung-gi stepped out, your eyes met briefly. The way he looked at youâearnest, searchingâwas impossible to ignore. The remaining contestants loitered nearby, their presence a quiet reminder of the fragile truce this space demanded. But Thanos was nowhere to be found. Somehow, the thought of his absence made your shoulders feel just a little lighter.
Despite the unspoken rule of no interactions before returning to the dorms, Myung-gi broke it without hesitation. He rushed toward you, his arms wrapping around you in a protective embrace. For a moment, you froze, unsure. But your hands instinctively found his face, fingers brushing over the bruise already darkening on his cheek.
You couldnât stop the flood of thoughts about Thanosâhow heâd reacted to other men during your relationship, the jealousy that often burned too brightly. The memories made your stomach twist with dread. But as your thumb grazed Myung-giâs cheek, his eyes fluttered shut, leaning into the comfort of your touch.
âI donât want to hear it,â you said softly, your voice steady despite the tension lingering in the air.
He let out a quiet scoff, his lips curling into a faint, tired smile. âThe prickâs finally getting what he deserves anyway.â

Hello! I would like to make a request about Dae-Ho, a character I love. I would like the story to show how Dae-Ho and the reader develop a special connection during the games, despite being on opposite sides. She is part of Thanos' team, but they still interact frequently. On one of those nights, they kiss and promise to get to know each other better once it's all over. However, that promise is not fulfilled because she dies in the carousel game.
I hope this story fits the bill. Happy holidays! <3
Anything Is Possible?
KANG DAE-HO X READER
Summary- You are number 230's, rapper Choi Su-bong, sister. Just because you are on 'Thanos Team', does that mean you can Dae-Ho cant get together? Will you survive long enough?
Warnings- Squid Games, Angst, mentions of blood, murder, and death
A/N- I combined this ask with another anon request, "badass reader and daeho! maybe she is related to 100 and that's why the romance is kind of forbidden but she doesn't agree with his actions and thinks daeho is very cute. I would love a first kiss between the two, which she initiated and he was all embarrassed but really excited" I hope y'all don't mind, they were very similar!
Word Count- 4,605
"What is your problem!" You found yourself yelling at your brother. While this was not uncommon, the situation surely was. Thanos the rapper, or just known as Choi Su-bong to you, had pushed several people down on purpose. This killed them in the Red light, Green light game.
"You killed them!" You continued, though he did not seem to care.
"Look, as far as 'The Thanos' is concerned, each body means more cash for MOI!" He spoke, uncaring.
"Oh, and if it was me, would you let me get shot!" You crossed your arms, eyeing him up and down.
He looked around, checking for any guards. He then slipped out his cross form under his shirt. You knew he had some kind of drug in there.
"Look, if it will shut you up, you can have one. But keep your mouth closed!" He ushered his cross in your direction. You rolled your eyes.
"I'd like to at least be aware of my surrounding in a death defying game!" "Shhh, Shhhh!" His face scrunched up as he looked at you, offended. He thought someone might have been drawn to your choice words.
You scoffed and walked off, sitting on the edge of a bed to catch a train of thought.
With a puff, you pressed your head into your hands. Could you really go on like this? Risking your life? Then it hit you, your life was over either way. Loan sharks were bound to kill you the second you left... Might as well go out with a bang?
The gruesome thought lingered until you felt the bed sink next to you.
"Thanos, I don't want to-" You looked up to not see your brother. Instead a man with a '388' on his jacket.
"Well I'm not sure who 'Thanos' is, but are you doing okay?" He looked genuinely concerned.
You started at him for a second, "Like fifty people just died..."
He faltered, "W-well yeah... Obviously you aren't okay... I just, I saw you arguing with that guy... The one with purple hair." You sigh again at his response. Well, this might be the last conversation you ever have. Why not be an open book!
"That's my brother. He thinks since he got one hit song, he can boss anyone around." You again rolled your eyes at the thought of him.
"Oh... I see. I-I have three older sisters, I know how it can get." He said, trying to offer you some sort of condolence.
You gave a side smile at him, appreciative of his efforts. "Thanks... What got you into these games?" You figured there's no reason for 'proper exchanges.' What was the point anymore?
He seemed ashamed at the question. "Sorry, if it makes you feel any better- I'm about 30 million won in debt. Some online crypto coin my brother swindled me into. Lost big time." You explained.
He shook his head, "No, no, its fine. See, I was a marine. Couldn't find a job after I got out. Guess I just got carried away with the wrong people... Got into some bad loans."
You gave a sympathetic face. "That sucks..." He just nodded sheepishly.
A silence fell between you two, but it wasn't awkward or annoying. It just...was.
"Well, uh, which are you going to vote?" He asked like it had been on the tip of his tongue all day.
As the Guards had told us earlier, we would get a chance to vote before the next game. Stay or Go.
"My brother seems pretty adamant on staying... And I honestly don't think it would be smart to piss him off anymore. He's got me in his little clique already." You didn't really know which one you would have chosen if the vote was anonymous.
He nodded in understanding. "I mean, I don't have a groupie or anything. But, you could stick with me if you wanted."
Your heart fluttered. Looking up at him, you seemed to just notice how handsome he was... Then reality hit.
"I deeply appreciate that... But I think you might have better odds without me. Choi- uh Thanos, would probably do something to you... I don't really want to risk it, I'm sorry." You knew that you really did want to be on his team, but you also knew how your brother was.
He had a slight look of defeat on his face, "I get it. I feel confident about the next game. I mean, if they're all children games, how hard can it be? I'll vote the same as you."
You agreed, "Then, maybe I can talk to Thanos? See if he wants another member?" You smiled at him.
He opened his mouth to speak, happily, but the two of you were interrupted when the pink guards came back in. Letting everyone know it was time to vote.
"See ya on the other side." You said, standing up to rejoin Thanos. Plus his newly acquired group of 3.
"Yes ma'am!" He responded, giving a small salute. You just laughed as you glanced at him a last time.
------------------------------------------
"Are you crazy!" Thanos whisper-yelled at you, turning the two of you away from the group. "Are you tryna embarrass me in front of my boys!" He scolded you like a child. His arms and shoulders going up.
"It's not that big of a deal, he was a marine, he could be good for us." Thanos just "tsked' in response.
"No. We are already perfecto. No more room." He said as-a-matter-of-fact. His arms making an 'X.'
You turned and looked at the two men staring at you. "Thanos, there are four of us in total. What if the next game is five players!"
"Huh, and what if its four! Then I'd be pushing YOU out, Cause of ya mouth." He made faces at you, then laughed loudly. "I'm just joking sistah! I'd only do that if you really pissed me off.... We are sticking to four." His expression turned serious.
"Fine."
At a mere coincidence, you turned around and saw '388' staring at you. You mouthed a 'sorry' and shook your head. Signalling Thanos said 'no.'
He nodded, then smiled at you anyways. At that, you watched him walk over and sit with a group of 'X's.
------------------------------------------
The lights soon went out. You laid back in your bed, trying to get some kind of sleep. It was useless, especially when you heard a 'psst' right next to you.
You turned your head, playing cool, even though it did startle you a bit. "Shh, It's just me." The voice rang familiar, and when you squinted your eyes in the dark your made out number 388's face. He was on his knees, crouched down next to your bed.
"What are you doing!" You whispered at him, sitting up quickly. Thanos and his two members were just a bed away.
"Shhhh, I have something to tell you." He said, his hands were waving slightly, a nervous tick.
You eyed him, moving closer. "What?"
"One of the guys has played these before. He said he won the games...That he knows which one is next."
Your hands rise to rub sleep from your eyes, "Really? You think he's telling the truth?"
With a frantic nod he continues, "It was the guy who knew about the Red light, Green light. Number 456."
You looked down, "Why are you telling me this..." You questioned, unaware of any kind of unconditional kindness.
"I want you to survive, why else?" You locked eyes with him. They were honest and pure.
"Well, what's the next game?" You didn't know how to respond to such generosity. For all he knew you would stab him in the back. Not that you could bring yourself to, not after he snuck over to tell you.
"He said its Dalgona. Ya know, the game where you scratch out the candy shape?" You knew the game, having played it in your youth.
"Make sure you pick the Triangle. It's the easiest one." You nodded.
At that, a shuffle made both of you turn your head. Thanos moved in his sleep, rolling over. His eyes were closed, but he was now facing you.
"You better go, in case he wakes up." You warned, not wanting any drama.
His head shook in agreeance, he raised to walk off.
"Wait!" You whispered, he looked back. "What's your name?"
"Dae-Ho. Dae-ho Kang."
"Thank you, Dae-ho..." The corners of your face rose, almost grinning at yourself saying his name.
He gave a small wave of his hand, another salute. You suppressed a giggle, and laid back down. Sleep came easier this time...
------------------------------------------
"Welcome to your second game, this game will be played in teams. Please divide into teams of five in the next ten minutes."
You looked around, Dalgona was not a team game. Had Dae-Ho lied to you? No, why else would he sneak over in the middle of the night. It didn't make sense. Maybe 456 was lying?
"Should have listened to me, now we have to find another person." You remarked to your brother, smugly.
"Trust trust, my skeptic sister. Thanos has got this under control!" He spoke about himself, immediately levitating to the closest attractive women. You, once again, found yourself rolling your eyes.
"Señorita, excuse me?" You wanted to physically face palm at his attempt at a pickup line.
------------------------------------------
Quickly enough, time selection was up. Everyone was orderly sat in their groups. Conveniently, Dae-Ho and his group sat behind you.
"Dae-Ho." You called, moving to be in his range of sight.
"Ahh, hey!" He said, excitedly. His demeanor changing from skittish when he saw you.
"So, what happened to Dalgona?" You asked, not blaming him- just curious.
He gave an unsure face, equally as confused. "He said the games must not be the same. I'm sorry."
"What for?" You beamed, knowing it was not his fault.
He laughed, "I guess I don't know.."
You just shook your head humorously. "Which game are you going to do?"
"Uhmm, Gong-Gi... My sister's played it a lot, so I'm used to it."
"They've got me doing spinning top. I was never any good at Gong-Gi." You made a glance to Thanos, he was high out of his mind. You caught him slipping Nam-Gyu a pill. He didn't notice you talking to Dae-Ho.
"I wish you the best of luck!" He gave a quick bow of the head.
------------------------------------------
The game went smoothly enough. Though, it took much longer than Red light, Green light. Watching all of the teams go one at a time was excruciating.
A handful of words exchanged with Dae-Ho while waiting was calming, it grounded you. He had nothing to gain by helping you, he simply did. It was flattering.
You and Dae-Ho had figured out that his team was going last. It was nerve-wracking to think about him not making it. No one had ever effected you like this before...
Eventually your team went, suffering frequent verbal degration from Thanos and Nam-Gyu. Thankfully your team made it with 8 seconds to spare. Too close for your comfort.
The worst part came when you had to wait. You felt like you could hear a large clock ticking right by your ear.
Would Dae-Ho's team make it? You didn't doubt his Gong-Gi skills, but he was dependent on the skills of his team mates as well. It was terrifying to think they were shot with not enough time to complete the games.
You couldn't bare Thanos bantering, he complained about every survivor. It just made you more paranoid about Dae-Ho's possible death.
Trying to settle your mind, you stepped away from your group, preferring to sit by yourself on the edge on the steps. You picked at your nails, praying he would make it.
Minutes and minutes went by. No one had come out in a while. Was the game finished? Did they die?
Just as you were about to return to your brother hopeless, one last group appeared.
A gasp left you as you watched Dae-Ho's team emerge. You stood up, cheering with a handful of other players. Your hands were clasped gleefully In front of you.
Dae-Ho's gaze was fixed on you, he chuckled. His first raised in victory.
You gave him a salute back.
------------------------------------------
You managed to slip away from Thanos. He was too busy hitting on Se-Mi. You were grateful for her, it took some of the pressure and attention off of you. You had to remember to thank her later.
"Dae-Ho!" You called out, he turned around and stepped away from his group.
"You were amazing! You went 'Wooshhh' and got the top first try!" He was practically bouncing on his heels. He mimicked the process of spinning a top with his hands and body.
"Thank you, Thank you." You pretended like you were bowing to an applauding audience.
"How did Gong-Gi go?" You asked, antsy. He rubbed the back on his neck.
He grinned deep, "Would you believe me if I said I got it first try too?"
Your face lit up, "Really!"
"I swear it!" He placed a hand across his chest.
You gave a quick clap to him, "I knew you could do it!"
You felt like a schoolgirl again. Talking to Dae-Ho made you feel like a blushing bride. He was such a ray of light and hope for you.
"What do you think the next game is?" He questioned, taking a seat on a step by the large doors.
You thought for a second, "I don't know, Maybe some kind of mind game. Since the last two have been really physical."
He nodded, "Yeah, maybe, maybe. Thats smart thinking."
You joined him on the step facing him. While you were about to change the conversation, you overheard a few people talk about what they were voting next. It reminded you of the real life-or-death situation you were in.
"So, d'ya think you're going to change your vote?" You became more solemn.
"...Yeah, I just... The others have convinced me. I mean, truly, I shouldn't have voted 'stay' in the first place..." He looked down, almost as if he had disappointed you.
"Honestly, Dae-Ho... I want to leave too... But, but, what if I press 'leave', and we still have to continue the games. Then Thanos would be pissed, and deep down I need him. He's still my brother." You hated the fact, but you were scared of what Thanos would do.
Dae-Ho thought for a moment. He mumbled something you didn't quite catch. "What?" He stood up.
"I can protect you. Honest. With my life." Your breath hitched, you stood up as well.
You shook your head, a lump forming in your throat. "Oh Dae-Ho... That's just the thing. I can't have you risking your life. Not for me."
He gently lifted your hands into his. "You are worth risking my life for."
"Dae-Ho, you don't even know my name." Your voice quivered.
He nodded quick, "Then lets change that. What's your name." You bit your bottom lip before telling him.
"Now, I can defend you from Thanos. He won't do anything to do." He ended with your name, it sounded angelic coming from his mouth.
"I'm sorry... I just... can't." You let go of his hands, fully set on walking away. But, he stopped you. He grasped your shoulder.
"Please don't go. I'll stop talking about it, I swear." He pleaded. He truly just wanted to be with you, he was content with you.
And you were with him.
You closed your eyes, shook your head. You fought off any kind of objection. "Okay."
The two of you talked and talked, time ran past. You no longer seemed to worry about the games, just that you knew you wanted to stay with Dae-Ho.
Until, the large doors opened and the pink guards once again announced a vote.
You said a quick 'goodbye' to Dae-ho, hoping the games wouldn't continue. Even if you never saw him again, at least he would be alive.
------------------------------------------
Much to your dismay, the games would continue another round. The vote wasn't even close this time. It was almost relieving, knowing that your vote was not the determining factor.
Once again, the lights went out to signify the night. You noticed teams were huddling together for protection, taking shifts and keeping watch. It was getting more serious as each hour went by. You could not find rest, feeling extremely uneasy.
While you tried to find some sort of reassurance in Thanos, he was fast asleep. You decided to take your chance and go see Dae-Ho. Just as he had done for you.
You knew the general area where his group was, but couldn't make out specific people in the dark. Not from your distance.
You racked up the nerve to quietly shuffle over. Your socks helping to muffle any noise.
"Shh, someone is coming." You heard a man whisper, it was 456. You could see the large numbers next to the 'O' on his jacket.
"I-is Dae-Ho with you..." You ask, shakily.
"And what do you want with him?" A man next to 456 spoke, defensively.
"I- Hes my friend, I need to talk to him." You tried, fiddling with your fingers.
"Yeah, Sure he is. You're probably trying to get in and take one of us out, huh!" The man 390 rose, acting like he was ready to fight.
You stepped back, "No, really, I swear I'm not!"
You heard your name, a confused Dae-Ho crawled out from under a bed. "Dae-Ho, please tell them in not trying to kill any of you."
"What?" He was still weary from sleep, rubbing his eyes. Once he saw the position you and 390 were in, He quickly stepped between the two of you.
"No, No, she wouldn't do that. Really, whatever shes saying she's telling the truth." Dae-Ho came to your rescue.
"Can we talk Dae-Ho?" You stepped closer to him, both of your hands gently resting on his arm. He nodded rapidly, stepping away from his group.
The two of you found a cluster of abandoned beds, and sat on the floor between them
"Are you okay? Did someone hurt you?" He looked you over for any visible infliction's.
"No, no I'm fine..." You pulled your knees to your chest. "I just wanted to see you." You felt silly once it left your lips.
His face flushed beet red, you could even tell in the dark. His hair falling in his face made you reach a hand out and brush it back. "O-oh"
"You never told me what you think the next game is, Dae-Ho." You needed a distraction.
He shook his head, like he was getting some thoughts out. "I have no idea... I just hope its an easy one. Gi-Hun, uh 456, said that they've already played Tug-of-war, Marbles, and some kind of glass stepping game. So, uh, I would assume none of those would repeat."
"I'm glad I missed Tug-of-war... That would mean the number of survivors would be half..." You thought.
He changed the subject, beginning with your name. "What's wrong? I know you said you wanted to see me, but, I guess I don't understand why."
"Dae-Ho, I don't really know why either. I just, wanted to be with you. I feel safe with you. I feel like I'm alone anytime you walk away..." You blinked away a stray tear.
Dae-Ho was lost in thought, he had thought his feelings weren't reciprocated. Maybe they were after all?
He didn't have time to speak, because you have lounged yourself forward in a burst of confidence. You wrapped your arms around his neck, and pushed him to the floor. He was laid on his back with you on top of him, as you pressed a hard kiss to his lips.
His eyes widened, his body went rigid. When you pulled away to look at him, he stammered. "I-I, Uhm."
At his reaction you pulled away quickly, "I'm so sorry, I thought-"
"Can you please do that again." He was now giddy, a fat smile on his face. Excitement radiated out of him. "A-are you sure.. You seemed so..."
"No, no, you just caught me off guard, please, please kiss me again." He scrambled to a sit, hoping you would come closer again.
With a refound joy, you moved closer. This time you went slow, making sure to bask in the moment. You once again wrapped your arms around Dea-Ho's neck, pulling him in for a kiss.
"You're perfect.." He mumbled against your lips. Though, he felt something wet on his face. He pulled away, his eyes soft, "Whats wrong?"
You sniffled, "Promise me. Promise me, that after everything is over, that we will find each other." You asked, pressing your cheek against his.
"I swear it, I swear we will meet after the games." He leaned in for another kiss.
------------------------------------------
"Welcome to your third game. The game you will be playing is Mingle."
Okay, this one seemed safe. You had a large group, this can work. You tried to be positive, you had someone to look forward to after the game.
"Heyyy, we'll be mingling together. Doesn't that sound like so much fun?" Thanos went on, trying to hype everyone up. The only one who was just as high as him was Nam-Gyu. It worried you that he wasn't fully aware of his surroundings, but at least he wasn't on your tail about everything.
"Please step onto the center platform. When the game starts, the platform will begin to rotate, and you will hear a number. You must form groups of that size, go into the rooms, and close the door within 30 seconds."
You nodded, understanding the rules. Everyone gathered to the platform. You noticed groups staying together, huddling close.
While following Thanos, you passed Dae-Ho's group, you caught his eye and gave him a small salute. It seemed the two of you now had an inside joke.
"Let the game, begin."
At the jump and pull of the platform, you almost lost your balance. You reached a hand out and held onto your brother. He looked over at you, for a split second he actually seemed like your brother. He was there for you.
That's until a muffled snort came from Nam-Gyu. Thanos pushed your hand off, laughing at you.
You sighed and thought of a smart remark, but the platform stopped spinning and a 'Ten' rang out.
Thanos laughed loudly, "We needa four!!" He screamed, shaking his face all about.
"Were four!" A man yelled back, and Thanos took off running. Your eyes widened and you ran after him. "Run, Hurry!" You yelled at Se-Mi, who had stopped to grab Min-Su.
Luckily everyone had made it to the room, just as the door shut the timer went off. The door locked shut. You peaked out of the doors small slit. You didn't see Dae-Ho. A good sign.
Multiple gunshots rang out, each making your body jolt.
"Ha Ha! My family! We did it!" Thanos bantered, clapping some of the men on their backs.
When the doors finally opened again, you looked around. You looked and looked for Dae-Ho. Finally sighing in relief when you saw him. He ran over to you.
"You're okay, thank God!" He hugged you, you held him tight.
You swallowed hard, "It's not over yet. I'll find you after the next round!" You said, quickly finding Thanos again.
"Yeahhhh! Easyyy!" Him and Nam-Gyu joked back and forth. They started dancing to the music as the platform started rotating again.
'Four'
Thanos stopped and looked at his group for a minute. "Gyeong-su, you're with me!" He grabbed his hand, pulling him.
"Damn!" Nam-Gyu said, gripping your arm and pulling you. While you were happy to be chosen, you were worried for Min-su and Se-Mi.
"Lets goooo!" Thanos yelled once we were all in the room.
"Thanos what was that! Gyeong-su over me!" You pointed your finger at him.
"I swear I thought I was pulling you! Besides, you gotta stop running your mouth. You made it, you're fine!"
You couldn't believe what he was saying. Sure, he talked a lot about leaving you. But it was always just talk? Right?
The door opened once again, you were thankful to be away from Thanos. Your new objective was to find Dae-Ho now.
This time, the second you saw him- you ran to him. You no longer cared about what Thanos thought, nor what he'd do.
"I'm so happy to see you." Dae-Ho mumbled into your hair, which his face had been shoved into right after you ran into his arms.
"I have to stay with you, Thanos tried to leave me. I can't make it with him." Dae-Ho didn't hesitate, and pulled you over to his group.
Though, Thanos didn't like that. "Yo, brotha. What're you doing with my sister!" He tried to shove Dae-Ho, but he was bigger and stronger.
The platform started to spin.
"Leave her alone, you obviously cant take care of your sister." He ushered you behind him.
"I don't know what you're talking about bro! I save her, shes only alive because of me and Nam-Gyu!" He argued, leaving out the crucial part of information where he wasn't the one who grabbed you.
"It doesn't matter anymore. I will keep her safe now, you can mind your own business and get along with Nam-Gyu."
They continued to yell and argue over the carousel's music, it was difficult to hear them. Until,
'Three'
Thanos gripped one of your arms, Dae-Ho held another.
"Thanos, let go!" You yelled, trying to pull from his grasp.
It was chaotic, screaming was heard around you. "Dae-Ho, this way!" Two men yelled out, Dae-Ho twisted his head but didn't move.
Your stomach dropped. You couldn't be the reason Dae-Ho would die. You were all running out of time.
"Dae-Ho, go. Please! I'll go with Thanos and Nam-Gyu!"
"I'm not leaving you!" He was adamant about protecting you. Damned everyone else.
"If you don't go, we will all die. Time is running out!" Dae-Ho battled internally, you let go of his hand.
"Go! It's okay, I'll see you in a minute!"
He didn't want to leave, he couldn't. But you made him. When he slowly walked backwards, you let out a relived sigh. You then turned to run with Thanos. Nam-Gyu was already in a room, his yelling ushering you two forward.
It was going to be okay, The three of you in a room. Everything was fine. There was time.
Until, Nam-Gyu moved out of the way... Gyeong-su was behind him... There was already two in the room. Thanos ran in, not thinking twice.
Your running came to a stop right outside of the door. Where Thanos himself had closed it on you.
A "NO!" Was heard from across the room. It was Dae-Ho. He tried to come to you, but he was too far.
Player 456 and player 001 were pulling him into a room. Forcing the door shut. You could see Dae-Ho looking out of the door slit, his hands peaking out as well.
You didn't turn to see what Thanos might have been doing. You didn't care. Not anymore.
You just wanted your last moment to be looking at the most handsome man you'd ever met. His soft eyes were filled with tears as he watched you.
You weren't upset, not scared, not nervous. Not anymore.
It would all be over soon.
You gave him one last salute before a loud bang rang out.

Dislike the narrative around Squid Games season 2âs trans character. Cause the casting department literally tried to find a trans actress, but being openly trans is insanely stigmatized and dangerous in South Korea. Itâs not fair to ask a trans woman (who is specifically pre-transitioning for the role) to put herself out to an incredibly violent regressive transphobic society
