1:56 a.m. That’s the time you finally arrived at the hotel after a long day of the Squid Game event in LA. “Have a good night,” you said, bowing politely to the other cast members and staff as you and Yuri stepped out of the elevator.

You swiped the keycard and pushed the door open, stepping inside the room with a sigh of relief. Yuri followed closely behind.

“Argh, I’m so tired,” Yuri groaned, collapsing onto the floor in exhaustion.

To be honest, you felt the same, the day had been far too long. Still, you had to admit it was an honor meeting all the big artists who attended the event. As Yuri’s manager, you knew you needed to brace yourself for more days like this once Squid Game Season 2 officially released.

“Get up Yuri. There’s a couch, you know.” You dropped onto the sofa, pulling out your iPad to start drafting the report for the day.

“Oppa… I’m hungry. Can you call room service?” Yuri turned her gaze to you, her eyes pleading.

“You were asked earlier if you wanted something to eat, and you said no,” you replied, shaking your head.

Her lips formed a pout as she turned her head away, resting it against the floor. “I wasn’t hungry back then.”

You sighed, unable to resist her expression. Without a word, you grabbed your phone and called for room service. Yuri bit the inside of her cheek, fighting back the smile threatening to tug at her lips as she listened to you order her food.

“Thank you, oppa!” Yuri finally got to her feet. “I’ll go get changed,” she said, darting to her room like she was racing the food to the door.

The knock came not long after. “Is that the food?” Yuri shouted from her room.

Seriously, her instincts when it comes to food is something else. At the door stood the room service attendant, balancing a silver tray with practiced ease. The faint aroma of warm bread and something savory wafted toward you, instantly comforting. You signed the check with a quiet “Thank you” before taking the tray and closing the door.

Back in the living room, Yuri was already sitting on the floor by the coffee table, her smile practically reaching the ceiling. Her puppy eyes followed your every movement as you set the tray down beside your iPad. You took the seat across from her.

“Thank you for the food!” she chirped, spreading butter onto her bread. She took one good bite into her mouth.

“How is it?” you asked as you prepared your own.

“Wah, it’s so good,” she replied, her face lighting up as she took another bite.

You reached for your iPad, but Yuri slapped your hand away. “Just do that tomorrow. Don’t you ever get tired?” she asked, annoyance flickering across her face.

“I need to send the report early Yuri,” you said, picking up the iPad with your free hand. As much as you wanted to listen to her, the higher-ups back in Korea are expecting it soon.

“You’re always working so hard. Why don’t you relax for a bit?” Yuri’s voice softened, slightly muffled by the piece of bread she was still biting on. She rose to her feet, her steps light as she moved behind you. The bread bobbed slightly between her lips as her hands found your shoulders, kneading the tension buried deep in your muscles.

A quiet sigh escaped you as her thumbs pressed slow, deliberate circles into your upper back. “That feels good,” you murmured, the day’s dull ache starting to melt away under her touch. She shifted slightly, taking the last bite of the bread still in her mouth and chewing quickly before her fingers worked down your shoulder blades, trailing to the base of your neck. Each movement expertly eased the strain.

You opened your iPad as she continued. “I just couldn’t convince you could I?” she said with a sigh.

“Can’t be helped,” you replied, popping the last piece of your bread into your mouth, chewing calmly as if her words didn’t faze you.

“You know, oppa,” Yuri leaned closer, her breath brushing your ear, “I could use some relief too.”

“Then go to sleep,” you replied flatly.

“Come on, oppa. I know something that will relieve us both,” she teased, whispering softly to your ear as she rests her head on your shoulder. Her arms looped around you, her sweet, alluring scent hitting your nose. Still, your focus stayed firmly on the iPad.

Her eyes flickered to the screen. “‘Yuri delivered an engaging performance at today’s Squid Game promotional event, interacting well with fans and media, despite minor nervousness during the Q&A,’” she read aloud, her face brushing faintly against yours.

She giggled. “Minor nervousness? Oppa, you make it sound like I was about to pass out.”

Your tone didn’t waver. “If you’re done reading over my shoulder, you should get some sleep.”

Yuri pouted but wasn’t fazed. “But I think I deserve more credit, don’t you?” Her hands trailed down your chest, going lower with each word. "Let's just have fun for tonight oppa," Her lips brushed against your ear as she whispers softly before planting a soft kiss.

“Go to sleep, Yuri,” you said, flat and detached, before her hand reaches just above your crotch.

“Tch, you’re no fun,” she muttered with a small huff, pulling back. Her lips curled in a slight sneer, her eyes narrowing just enough to show her annoyance, though the playful glint in them gave her away. It was that unmistakable mix of irritation and teasing you’d seen a hundred times before. “I’ll be sleeping now. Have fun making me sound good on that report.”

She stepped to your side, her hand catching your cheek and turning your head toward her. Before you could pull away, she leaned in and pressed a quick, open-mouthed kiss against your lips, her tongue brushing briefly against yours.

It was casual, effortless, and without any deeper meaning.

You didn’t flinch or react. By now, you were far too used to her antics to let them bother you.

Yuri grabbed another piece of bread and a small cup of butter from the tray, turning to head toward her room. As she reached the door, she paused briefly and glanced back. “Good night, oppa,” she murmured with a faint smirk before disappearing inside, the soft click of the door marking her exit.

For you, it was nothing—just Yuri being Yuri.

Pink Soldier Light has been on my mind since 2021. Now, with Season 2's release, I believed it was time for me to actually draw him.

Splatoon 3 Season 3 officially revealed

It's no trailer, but nevertheless, Fresh Season 2023 has been officially announced, bringing with it a ton of exciting things, most prominently the return of the Kraken Special from the first game!

It has seen substantial changes, with a slight delay to the transformation and its regular jump attack now being a 2-shot. Instead, however, it can now oneshot by charging up a large burst of speed, which seems to make it immune to knockback, too.

Featured alongside the Kraken are two new weapons that have it in their arsenal, the Krak-On Roller, which also has Squid Beakon, and the .96 Gal Deco, which also Splash Wall.

Going back to the announcement image for a second, there's some other details that are worth bringing up. Manta Maria from Splatoon 2 is back, and they are finally releasing the egypt-inspired stage we saw all the way back in the Direct. The presence of a jukebox is also very interesting, as this is something that the dataminers found a long time ago, and it looks like it's finally being brought into the game, presumably to let you listen to your favourite tunes in the lobby.

The thing I am the most curious about, however, are these little things. They are not mentioned in the original post, at least as far as I can tell, but they are featured very prominently, making me think they might be a new Sub Weapon. Since we're given no details, we can only speculate.

the squid game hype came and went so fast when the first season was released i didn't even have time to process its existence let alone watch it

but husbando and i rectified that this past week, and yeah, we're fully on board the hype train

he usually doesn't like watching more than about 2 episodes of a show in one sitting, but we've been doing 3-4 in a night on his request

i never seen much about squid game on this app but im watching the second season now (NO SPOILERS IM LITERALLY ON SECOND EPISODE PLEASE) (this does not apply for my post rn, this has 1-2 ep spoilers)

but the show has created a simulation in SUCH an immersive way that borders hyperreality lowkey i literally gotta pause the show and just sit there staring for a second

a lot of media texts try to be immersive now, it helps to keep the audience's interest and is overall much more impactful that way, especially when its relatable, not just realistic.

here, the second season is set in 2024, late 2024 at that, this is our timeline. this was "happening" a few weeks ago. it isn't the past, it isn't the future, it's the present. that already is quite immersive and quite chilling tbh, it makes the audience question how fictional it is in the first place, as a joke maybe think ahahaha what if that was happening right now actually that would be crazy. especially that the show already reflects our world almost perfectly by fashion, pop culture, social issues, people's lifestyles, etc, its the same world just with a twist of "what if there was a secret organisation creating a reality show where players get killed for losing for the rich to enjoy !" so there's that part of immersion, chilling, its familiar, it is set in our timeline. simulation, quite hyperreal but we aren't quite there yet.

now, another thing to note, when the show came out, people got obsessed with it, it became mainstream, people dressed up as the soldiers, frontman, the players, literally anything for halloween. this happened in real life and its normal and expected, people dressed up as a show that they liked and was big that year. when you saw those people you would just think about the fact that they saw the show, they aren't real staff that work for a very illegal game competition that is used as a tv reality show for the rich. that is already happening in the world in a diff way but that's a conversation for another day and plus that metaphor and connection has prob been talked over so many times since the release

but. the same thing happens in the show. gihun gets an invite to the club to meet the frontman ON HALLOWEEN. in the show that makes perfect sense, it lets the squid game staff keep their identities hidden under the pretense of being dressed up for halloween. but to us, to the audience (at least me) its SO much more impactful and so much creepier because we know them, we know who they are. and we saw this in OUR OWN LIVES. PEOPLE DRESSED UP AS SQUID GAME AND NOW THERE IS A SCENE WHERE DURING HALLOWEEN, THE SQUID GAME STAFF IS "DRESSED UP" AS SQUID GAME. THEMSELVES.

a squid game show doesn't exist IN the show's world, no one knows how they look like or anything, the civilians in the show see them and just think "oh weird costumes, must be from a show ive never heard of". but to us, it exists, as a show. i literally don't know how to fucking explain this but that's SUCH a weird parallel and it was creepily immersive and felt like a deja vu to see the staff walk through the crowd, just like we saw in real life.

I've never seen a piece of media take a reference from life and implement it like this ????????? or at least don't remember anything similar,, it was a very weird immersion. it isn't a hyperreality per say because we have the original (our world) to link reference, but that has merged the two realities, ours and the show's into one reality SO realistically for a second. In our world, people were wearing those constumes before 2024 and seeing that in 2024 just created a link between the years and even tho in the timeline of the show, people wearing those costumes didn't happen before their 2024, IT HAPPENED FOR US! WE HAVE SEEN IT BEFORE! OUTSIDE THE SHOW AND NOW IT HAPPENED IN THE SHOW. IT LINKED THE TWO DIFFERENT REALITIES AND MADE THE SHOW SHOWS REALITY DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO A HYPERREALITY

This year I lost 3 fur babies :( my maine coon named Lily, she was very old and it was her time, my other tuxedo cat Squid, she had a mummified fetus that we found out about too late, and my ferret Jedidiah, he was old and had cancer. It’s been a hard year but I am grateful for my babies and the time I get to spend with them <3 I love love love animals and I've had so many fur babies, I've had cats, dogs, hamsters, gerbils, guinea pigs, a rabbit, chameleons, a hedgehog, and a duck

The comments in the Squid Games season 2 section on MDL (why am I in the comments section? I hate it there) are abysmal. Lots whining about the fact the seasons been split in to season 2 and 3. Why didn't they just release it all now. Why isn't it all one season. It's just a cash grab. I'm not going to remember what happened in this part and it will make me less interested in season 3.

Bitch you just sat and waited 3 years for the new series. I think you can wait a few more months for season 3.

And you'd be the first one complaining if they rushed through the story in one season, with all the, it's was too short, it wasn't fleshed out enough, it needed more time. Blah.

God help these people who clearly never had the joy of having a single episode of a series once a week for 24 weeks straight. They'd never cope having to watch a single season over 6 months!!!!

My Squid Game season 2 personal review (incomprehensible sobbing) (for fun)

I loved it so much but I'm seeing people say it's not that good or it was a letdown BUT I WHOLEHEARTEDLY BELIEVE IT IS PEAK.

It was so entertaining and EXTREMELY NERVEWRACKING that even after over an hour of finishing it, I was STILL shaking and I didn't even have the space to cry or mourn the ones who died. Everything was so shocking and every parallel from season 1 kept flashing throw my brain as I watched it. Don't even get me STARTED with the characters oh my god.

HYUN-JU??? TRANSGENDER REPRESENTATION??? I AM IN LOVE WITH HER PLEASEE ADOPT ME. I literally cried when she started talking about her experience and her dreams! She better not fucking die.

The mother and son duo 😭😭😭😭 i totally understand the mother's side and how pissed she was at yong-sik the whole time cause he got me gritting my teeth and balling my fists too but I love both of them.

I FELL. SO HARD FOR IN-HO OMG. Especially in the tracksuit... omfg HEY I CAN BE YOUR NEW WIFE PLEASE ONE CHANCE 😭🙏🙏 No but seriously the look in his eyes whenever he was thinking violently or murderously was so WOWUWOIWOWB I LOVE IT. He's fucked up and I'm all here for it.

GI-HUN. HAS CHANGED. SO MUCH. All in all I love the contrast between season 1 him and season 2 him. His survivor's guilt really destroyed him as a person and I love watching him lose his shit and also the realisation that hits him when he sees in a broader, much wiser perspective that people will literally do anything for money because unfortunately greed trumps longevity. I love his character this season and like.. the way he doesn't flinch at a gunshot or even a gun pointed to his head. He doesn't shake violently when he's on death's doorstep for the millionth time. It's also the way he tries so hard not to smile or be happy because I'm sure he hasn't been happy in a long time and when he can't fight that urge, it's the most bright smile ever in the whole show. I love to see his torture and I need to see his victory. I wonder if we'll get a glimpse of all the people who died in the games when it's all over? Or will Gi-hun himself die in the end?

10/10 will definitely watch again. Episode 5 is my favourite.

anyway i watched season 2 of squid game and i gotta say. WHY IS EVERY SHOW I LIKE RELEASING A NEW SEASON WITH A DEEPLY UNSATISFYING ENDING WITHIN A MONTH????????

this is lowkey killing any excitement for future tv shows cuz wtf is all this?????? arcane ends on jinx "dying" with obvious but still not explicit signs she survived and with everyone being all happy with the cops, the dragon prince basically spent the whole season focusing on interpersonal relationships and pushed off the serious conflict (how to trap aaravos forever again) for another 3 seasons that might never come, and now squid game ended what felt like 20 minutes early, immediately after the climax without giving literally any time for aftermath, which would suck in a much faster paced show but with how slow it feels like squid game is just feels like they couldnt figure out a reason to leave our main character alive but also didnt want to kill him in case they can squeeze another season out of him

idk im just so damn disappointed. literally all 3 of these were So well built up tension wise and got me really emotionally invested in these characters and they all dropped the ball to varying levels.

Since 2024 is ending, I thought I would post a 2024 summary of art I have made today here, so here it is!

Here's also a list of predictions I have for 2025:

1. My artstyle will improve once again. Maybe I'll also figure out to make more unique types of shading and better lightning too.

2. The remedy classes I've been going to this year will improve me as a person, considering I have autism.

3. I will get Hello Kitty Island Adventure and another Tokidoki Sandy figure for my Birthday. (I did get one, and I mean the rainbow for Mikołajki so here it is:)

4. I will reach 2K subscribers on YohTube in mid-late 2025.

5. Switch 2 presentation/direct in Early 2025, potential release date for Splatoon 4 gets revealed for late 2025 - mid 2026. Launch date MIGHT be possible too, but... Unlikely imo (I'm gonna show what I want for Splatoon 4 below those predictions, btw!)

6. Calling at the Telesisters episode 1 releases in early 2025. (For those who don't know: It's a Rinktuna related series I am currently working on with my friends right now)

7. I might potentially make new series for Ruby Choco Cookie! Films (Fanmade company made by me) during that year as well, but I still don't know

8. I will make a Wiki for Ruby Choco Gamez (Another fanmade company made by me?.

9. I will get a Side Order DLC card, as well as new manga and potentially new figures as well for Christmas 2025.

10. I haven't got one in 2024, so maybe 2025 will FINALLY be a chance for me to get the white belt for taekwondo.

11. Classicaloid season 3 becomes a thing (VERY unlikely but still lmao)

12. New Polish composer movie (I call him that jokingly but you definitely get who I'm talking about lol) featuring Eryk Kulm Jr releases in March 2025 (Only predicting this because March is his Birthday month)

13. I will finally watch Mighty B, Classicaloid (I only watched clips) and possibly the Tamagotchi anime (That's on my "watchlist" as well lol) too for myself.

14. I will get UTAU and make a voicebank called "RubyLoid".

15. A Codename Sailor V anime happens (Also unlikely but still. I would be excited if that occurs)

Anyways, what I want for Splatoon 4:

For Splatoon 4, I'd personally like to see the main hub (Considering Team Past's win) being something like a mix of retro, traditional Japanese and steampunk, and the idols being themed that way too. Would love to see Nintendo experience with this

I really have no ideas on what the story mode should be yet, but it HAS to be some kind of "post-Octoling-racism" sort of hero mode. The DLC can also be centered around the Great Turf War, sorta like an RPG where you play as Craig Cuttlefish. Oh and I would also love to see a replayal of hero mode missions (Sorta like the replay mode feature for online battles in 3 where you get to watch them again) but I'm not sure on how those would work

I wouldn't mind the former idols or former hubs returning

I am in a need of Splatfests returning again. These events were so much fun and even are lore-tied as well so I'd probably be mad If Nintendo doesn't add them in by the time 4 releases (I'd also like a take of adding ranked battles for Splatfests, and for tricolor to be playable as a regular mode)

I wouldn't mind new kits and apartments being in the next game, but it would still be cool

More customization features such as unique-looking pants, possibly even more colors than just black, fingertips etc.

And an obvious RETURN OF MINI-GAMES. Tableturf was kinda boring imo, we need games like Squid-Beatz or Squid-Jump to return with New ones as well. Oh well and AMIIBO HERO MODE MISSIONS!!! AND NEW "HERO" THEMED WEAPONS AS WELL!!! (And also Octarian themed weapons! Like those weapons Octolings had in the previous games aside from the Octoshot)

20 Most Anticipated K dramas to watch in 2024

Without a single doubt 2023 has been a prosperous year for us Kdrama fans. Starting from Crash Course in Romance in January 2023 to Gyeongseong Creature in December, the entire year of 2023 has brought us several unique stories, fantastic plots, sometimes sad endings and sometimes fairly-tale like “happily ever after”. 

Even though there were a fair amount of Korean Dramas that were disappointing in 2023, but trust me when I say it, 2024 is certainly not going to disappoint you at all. Even when 2023 has delivered back to back hits like The Glory 2, Good Bad Mother, Moving and many more, 2024 stores sequels to hit kdramas along with some fresh new stories ready to blow us kdrama fans out of our minds.  

So, without wasting any more time, let’s get into the list.

1. Squid Game 2

Genre: Thriller, action, mystery

Squid Game redefined the place of Korean Dramas in the global entertainment industry. This drama became the first non-English act to win six Emmy awards as well as gained the title of the most watched Netflix series ever. And to level up the death game even more, Squid Game season 2 is all set to be released in October 2024. 

This season promises Eight additional cast members, making the anticipation even more exciting. So, are you ready to witness this intense gory thriller in 2024 or not?   

2. Marry My Husband

Release date: 1st January 

Genre: Drama, Romance, Fantasy  

This fantasy romance then takes us 10 years back before Kang Ji Won was even married. While she gets to choose a new life for herself, we get to enjoy this star studded drama full of angst and romance.  

3. Aema

Expected release date: Yet to be confirmed 

Genre: Comedy, drama

Next in the list is the comedy drama Aema, which is all set to feature Lee Ha-Nee, Bang Hyo-Rin, Jin Sun-Kyu, and Cho Hyun-Chul as the main cast. The backdrop of the drama is set in the 1980 as it tells the story of Jung Hee Ran a top actress, who is casted as the protagonist of a movie titled “Madame Aema”. 

This drama will certainly be a fun watch with an intriguing plot. Thus, don’t forget to add it to your list of K dramas to watch. 

4. Everything will Come true

Episodes: 12

Expected release date: Not confirmed yet

Genre: Fantasy, romance, drama 

Who didn’t like Uncontrollably Fond aka one of the saddest k dramas to watch? Only recalling the amazing chemistry between Shin Joon Young (Kim Woo Bin) and No Eul (Bae Suzy), makes us want to scream and cry for the couple. But don’t worry, Woo Bin and Suzy’s upcoming Korean drama Everything will come true will have a much lighter tone with a sprinkle of fantasy to it. 

Woo Bin here plays the role of an emotional genie who meets Ga Young (Bae Suzy) and promises to grant her three wishes. But everything that’s free often comes at a price. However, we hope it’s not a broken relationship this time.

Gong Yoo is returning with romance and melodrama and it won’t be in your watchlist? How is that even possible! The Trunk is certainly one of the most anticipated k dramas to watch in 2024, not only because it’s Gong Yoo and Son Ye Jin casted as the main lead, but also because this drama is an adaptation of 2022 novel The Trunk by C.M. Castillo. 

The intriguing plot of this drama takes us inside the life of No In Ji, the head of a fixed-term marriage agency and Han Jung Won, a music producer. Both of them despise the idea of getting married but eventually fall in love as the drama progresses. Interesting.. Isn’t it?

Things i do/dont want or splatoon 4:

Do:

- more fun items like in side order for extras

- apartments AND lockers

for apartments let us visit friends and just have an area to chill

- fun areas u can just chill with friends (ik this wont happen but i can dream :')

Online:

- more non pvp modes like salmon run

- more modes than ranked and turf

- maps in the deep sea metro (sad they never did this :')

- make ur own maps (to share with others with a code)

- have folders to save matches (idk if this can work)

- online splatoon area u can share ur apartment, maps, pictures. fun stuff like that!

- fun areas with friends but u can squid party with randoms, or just play with random weapons. so challenges but u can make it whatever for fun!

Players:

- more hair

- actual cool clothes

- face things like freckles (ik we were going to get them in 3 but didnt)

- weird skintone colors like a pale blue

- more 2 colored eyes

Story mode:

- less platforms in story mode

- more lore

- more characters u can talk to

- more open world esk

- secret/hidden areas

- more little buddy like modes

- online story mode thats separate but similar to the main one

Dont:

- catalog (gets annoying after a few seasons) release stuff normally plz!!

- no more 3 idol splatfests (they just arent that good)

- have challenge modes to such a small time

For a game thats about fashion our clothes r mid or we cant customize ourselfs much. I hope for an amazing no rushed splatoon 4! I wonder what it will be like since we r at the end of a TRILOGY so that means more games but a different story with no agents. (im hoping)

Three fun facts about me: 1) I have watched nearly 500 different anime. I'm a bit behind on some new things and have a to-watch-list about 100 long. I'm a bit of a lazy witch and need to practice more, but ya know chronically ill and all that messes with everything in life. I am really good at divination, especially tarot. I've never had a bad reading, meaning every friend I read for says what I talked about with them helped. I also use pendulums and cast spells as needed. I have a box of herbs locked up in my altar along with candles and gems and all, though I stick to a small subset of items for budget. Not a crystal hoarder lol. 3) I'm a bit of a fashionista. I love clothes. If you need style help consult me~ For myself, I'm big into girly clothing. Lots of dresses and romantic looks, but also punk and corsets and fairytale vibes. I calmed it down some as I age, but I used to stop people in their tracks in college lol. I could never afford clothes or pick my own before college years, so I really went all out. Favorite Season: Want to say Winter, but lately it affects my body more in bad ways, so I'll say Autumn. Continent where I live: North America, sadly in the USA and I want out. How I spend my time: Lots of doctor visits, anime, sleepy bitch, writing for my multiple series (mostly Arigale rn for a while), gaming, and spending time with my partner (married). I also enjoy cosplay and attend a con every Nov. with my illustrator and best friend. Are you published?: Yes! I have the first book of Arigale out right now (self-published) and plan on releasing two more books at the end of 2023. Introvert or Extrovert: Introvert by faaaar. T_T I want to talk and meet people, but it's so hard. Favorite Meal: Oh gosh. I spent a half year in Osaka, Japan in college studying Japanese and the culture and I'll never forget the food. Feed me anything Japanese and I'm pretty happy. Katsudon, sukiyaki, mochi, okonomiyaki, taiyaki, yakitori, bentos, don bowls, miso soup, ramen, that delicious ginger dressing on salads, shabu shabu, curry, tempura, oden, onigiri, inari udon, soba, etc. forever.

Bit of a rant about Splatoon 3 DLC

To get it out of the way, I love Side Order and am very excited for it. I’ve got not issues with that.

But what I do have an issue with is the first wave.

There seems to be no difference from Splatoon 1’s lobby and Splatoon 3’s lobby. Yeah you see the old/new shopkeepers and seeing the squid sisters. Don’t get me wrong this is cool, for new and old players but—I’m not going to play money for a glorified reskin.

The DLC was announced before the game even came out and the game was released September 8th. The game been out for 6 months and is still getting updates.

Wave 1 should’ve been in the base game or at least paired with Wave 2, period.

I hope if anything the prices of the DLCs are inline with their value. Which haven’t been revealed at the time of this post.

After looking at some articles it’s seems like they’re going to have a seasonal pass. Which probably means more DLC but atm it’s not even worth considering as the first Wave is underwhelming.

I say hold off on buying the pass (if there is one) until more DLC is announced or we get more info.
