"My coworker made sandwiches. There's two egg salad and two cream with fruit." He carefully filches one of each out, placing them into a handkerchief (Beniko sends him everywhere with these, and often out with food; Seiji can afford to spare it). "Here, we can split them, I don't mind."

Woah…! Eyes that immediately reflect their amazement when presented with the food, unspoken compliments of how nice it looked, 'did your coworker really make these?!', and 'is it really fine to eat something this pretty?'. It's possible they're too easily impressed, the notion of them being made capturing their heart first (caring for someone else, even under the guise of being coworkers, was a wonderful thing). The value of it overflowing into something so precious that, even though Akira was grateful, caused them to hesitate. To think that an action like this would have them thinking of them.

Still…there was another point of concern.

"Thank you, but…are you sure you won't be hungry? I don't want you to struggle because you haven't eaten enough, I'm sure your coworker feels the same", there's no blaming in their tone, simply worry for the other. Akira wasn't starving (and was an adult too, if needed they could go buy something for themself!), and Seiji gave them the impression he was using up a lot more energy each day than they were. Be it through actions, or the fleeting feeling he was carrying more than they could imagine.

Aaand there it is. A small smile growing on their face as he first goes on the defensive and, eventually, mourns the woes of a big brother. He's fun to tease, even if the reassurance makes them feel kind of bad about it. "Nah", he said it himself; two of them were the strongest within their expertise and the other was a being stronger than most things they had encountered — and those weren't the only amazing strengths overlooking the town. "Feower is learning how to ask for help, if something was happening I want to hear it from him", so they say at least. In truth, Gran wouldn't sit still, but that much was obvious to all of them.

It was fine to wait. They didn't do enough waiting. Quests one day, saving the world the other, getting deeply involved with matters regarding a crewmember the next...they enjoyed it, but they were tired (and could do without everyone risking their lives all the time). Being with good company and feeling the wind in their hair for a while was much more pleasant.

Now, if said company could enjoy it too...well, they were the one who started this, weren't they.

"...If there was danger you would've already known", and the twins weren't avoiding him. Probably. If they were, he really didn't seem to know why, and that had to count for something. They don't say that part, and bite their tongue on teasing him about the crying, leaving their unwavering trust in his capabilities to hang in the air for a moment longer. "Figured out where the Eternals are going for vacation this year?" and then breaks it by introducing another topic they know could be disastrous, especially after his initial statement of how difficult it is to gather them. But this time the mischievous glint in their eyes is accompanied by something more genuine, after all, they weren't the only one who had friends within his crew.

"They're late", they're sitting on the railing, legs dangling above the endless, blue sky, gazing toward Stardust Town. They're not expecting a fanfare of any kind, but Feower and Tien had expressed wanting to see them off, and Wamdus had a new game she wanted to show, leaving them waiting. And waiting. And while it normally wouldn't bother them… Attention now focused on Seofon. Squinting, scrutinizing; You didn't do anything, did you? ╱ @toestalucia

Ouch. Tough love as always, wasn't it? Gran didn't have to finish their sentence for the sword sovereign to know exactly what they were thinking.

Now there's worry. He does his best not to show it and chooses to drape himself against the railing as if he hadn't a care in the world. At ease, because he was supposed to be at ease. People stuck around longer when they didn't know how much baggage he had. When they didn't look too close. ❝ I definitely didn't make them late on purpose, I swear! ❞

I just played A Date With Death and on God, I love Grim. He's such a babygirl. The babiest of babygirls. Babygirlism personified.

Simping aside, I love the game a lot too. Beautiful art, the music slaps, the MC is so fun (and customizable) and the UI is great. I just wish the story was longer but that's just my preference for world building and more lore

i personally enjoy the interpretation of armand as unrepentant child-killer because the main draw of his character to me is his um. and pardon my phrasing. gap moe. in that his whole deal is that he is a soft-voiced and angel-faced committer of atrocities. he presents the façade of a demure and passive victim of circumstance and, imo, believes his own façade to a degree, but this front gets tossed away the second he gets even mildly inconvenienced or frustrated.

and this isn't to say that all of his softness is disingenuous or performative! that consuming need to be loved and wanted, the despair of isolation, those are the most genuine parts of him...and they become intensely interesting when placed next to the unflinching violence and cold disregard of things or people that he v transparently does not give a shit about. sanding down his freak traits to just have the softness makes him less compelling to me. i accept that weird little ginger vampire the way he is
