okay i actually fuck w this being a little journal outlet honestly. anyway, to the yap!

i saw lizzy mcalpine live in concert this year and she performed this as her surprise song and my goddd the studio version is like a gift from god. her music scratches an itch in my brain and i would give anythingggg to experience it again.

i’m so very fond of lizzy as a songwriter, i think she has some of the best lyrics ever. like i’d love to pick her brain one day and just see what the hell goes on in there. i feel like she’d have the most interesting journal of lyrics.

‘pushing it down and praying’ is another notable mention from the deluxe version of older. god, i think the video of it was BEAUTIFUL too. her use of metaphor to describe being in a sexual relationship but craving a deeper connection??? fucking gorgeous. i wish she had released the song before i saw her cause i know it would have been amazing live!

i also love how she pays homage to her father in her music. i try to pay homage to my late mother in a lot of my work, it’s one of the reasons i feel a strong pull to lizzy as an artist.

Here is my collection of paintings celebrating the four seasons and capybaras!

I'm super new to Tumblr, so here's a short intro:

I'm a Taiwanese American artist born and raised in California, who's into all things cute, colorful and shiny!

I always dreamed of being a professional artist. After pursuing a career as a lawyer and then becoming a stay at home mom of two amazing boys, I discovered the art of toner foiling in May 2021. I drew and foiled my friends' pets and shared them on social media, and it blew up into my first business!

Since then, I've expanded to digital paintings (mainly of cats and capybaras) and stickers.

I've also done a lot of charity work with my art:

- Raised $2k for Ukraine

- Fundraised $18k for rescue kitties including Wisp and Tater Tot

- Donated and displayed 18 foiled portraits of Queer lcons for the SF LGBT Center

- Painted a baseball base for the SF Giants' Pride Game
