Thinking about a scene where Steve tells Dustin to stop insulting him at every chance he gets, it fucking sucks, actually.
Dustin just scoffs. Rolls his eyes. Steve can take it. Plus, Dustin's just saying things that are true. Steve is dumb. His grades were bad. He didn't get into college. He makes dumb comments and gets things wrong. Not to mention his hobbies. He says he can't pick them up from Hellfire because there's a basketball game he wants to watch, like what? He spends all his time watching sports and talking about sports and playing sports. Its either that or working on his car. What kind of hobbies are those? They're not real hobbies. Can't be much of a reformed jock if he can't even give up sports.
So Steve just tells Dustin that if he isn't going to stop being a bully, Steve doesn't want to be his friend anymore, and leaves.
And it's like a slap in the face.
#stranger things#steve harrington#dustin henderson#momo.txt#ive said this before but sometimes dustins assholery is taken too far#yes all teens are assholes#yes dustin is a traumatised kid#but steve is also a traumatised kid and yet no one gives him a free pass#everyone always bringing up the fact he used to be an asshole#when he wasnt even that bad!#anyway im back on my 'steve isn't a pushover' agenda#hes not a doormat#if he can drop tommy and carol bc he didn't like who they were becoming#he can drop dustin#it'd suck and hurt but he could do it#stop being mean to steve 2k24#he's not dumb#he also got multiple severe concussions#sports and cars aren't bad hobbies#sometimes i wonder if people actually like steve with the way they treat him#Dustin included#someone please write this i have so many wips

McLaren situation
Just some little thoughts...
Today, we got good results for the team and both drivers and still, here we are with all the drama, hate and criticism again.
I think we should remember that we are now living the times we have been wishing for for decades, years or months and we should enjoy that!
Of course, the team and drivers being successful comes with other expectations, and other stressful moments... But that is part of the sport!
Of course, some of us are fans of both drivers, some of one or another, some like the drivers better than the team or the other way around. But at the end of the day, the drivers and the team are a package deal. We have to accept that.
As a fan of both Lando and Oscar, I want Lando to win, I want Oscar to win. But I know I can't have both.
As a RPF shipper, I know that drivers' relationships aren't like in the fanfics all the time.
Still, I try to see the whole picture not only about the moment but about F1 in general.
I know that I'm older than most of other people here, that I have been following F1 for longer. I don't wan't to sound like I'm bragging about that because that is an advantage as I understand things differently but also a weakness as I sometimes compare the actual F1 to the past and that's not always the right thing to do.
Still, seeing Lando's fans angry at Oscar today, I couldn't help but remember the time when team orders had been banned (more or less successfully) and realise that, today, we tend to forget that drivers are selfish, careless idiots (affectionate) at heart. That is why they are F1 drivers.
Oscar's move was bold, a bit risky. But we are looking at it from the comfort of our couch, with a nice drink and heavily influenced by whatever our commentator is saying.
Oscar was in the car, in a high adrenaline moment, wanting to win, to prove himself, to reach his ultimate objective and told by the team he could go for it.
Our way of analysing the race events is valid but it's only an outside POV and, in my opinion, it should never be an excuse to go on full hating towards another human being!
I was told by someone on Discord that I was biased because I love Oscar and see him as a good guy. That is not untrue but that doesn't cover it all.
Another thing lots of fans seem to forget is that supporting a driver doesn't mean that you should hate on all the ones battling with him or that you aren't able to see his wrongs.
Another little nostalgia moment but I was a HUGE Michael Schumacher fan. And Jerez 1997 was a hard time for me. I was 13 by then, able to understand nuances and conflicting feelings. And still, seeing my favourite pull out a nasty dangerous move on another driver made me feel lost. How could I like him when he could do this?
I chose to acknowledge that I still loved him despite this. That I wasn't okay with that particular action but would still support him. Because he's a human and no human is perfect.
A friend of mine stopped supporting him from that day. And their feelings were valid, too. But they never painted Michael as an awful person still. They just thought that he wasn't someone they could be a fan of.
You can feel like that about Lando and/or Oscar. Support one of them only in his rights and wrongs. Or support them both inequally.
Everything is valid... Only hurtful aggressive hate isn't.
Also, I wish we could remember that watching a sport is a hobby. Not a life-depending event.
If Lando isn't WDC at the end of the season, it could be devastating depending on the conditions. But we will still have a life. Even for him, it will be an ordeal but he can get over it! Many others did it before and will do it after.
Perhaps the Landoscar relationship (non-RPF) we are having now won't survive. As fans of them both, we will be sad... But it happens... It always happened and will happen again.
Don't let your passion for F1 make you feel bad, sad, angry or make a hater out of you. It's not worth it <3

In Tokyo debunkers I have been thinking about the first years and what they have in common.I think all of them are short-sighted or have tunnel vision this isn't a bad trait
I may be wrong on this or miss remembering so if I'm wrong please correct it.Please excuse the formatting I'm on mobile and the length.
Leo-
He is the easiest one for this, the speech that Alan gave him at the end of vagastorm kinda sums up lot of leo problems. There was a post about Leo possibly self-sabotage or disregard for his own self, there's merit look at the scene of Leo,Alan and Thoma.
He may have figured out that Alan wasn't going to hurt him but Thoma was a complete wild card in that situation,he was grabbing his axe.Along with setting up the PC,he used her to his liking and was planning to fuck her over after the fact.Image if his planned success what would have happened most likely no more access to the PC if she believes her boasting does not work. That means no more spying on Thoma and Alan.
Please tell me if this has any weight.I have to go to work.Thank you
Sorry this took so long, anon! I wanted to reply earlier but I thought that maybe mobile wasn't showing parts of the message(it sounded kind of like you were going to list the ways the other first-years were short-sighted/prone to tunnel vision) so I wanted to check it on desktop and my Taiga brain ADHD made me keep forgetting 8'D Excuse me for rambling so much, I get a little long-winded! TL;DR, I do think you're right, although Leo isn't as careless as you think, and I think Sho isn't really prone to tunnel vision or short-sightedness beyond that he seems to bounce between interests somewhat easily.
Yeah, I agree that the first years are a little prone to tunnel vision--like, they all must have come here with something in mind and that something will expand in their time here. Ritsu intended to acquire clients--particularly the famous and wealthy Frostheimers who are prone to controversy and scandal. Ren has implied some issues with his family so he possibly did this to escape the responsibilities of home--and now he has to try and escape the responsibilities of work too. Sho. . .I think Sho is the least short-sighted of them in a sense? Sho seems very much like he takes things day by day and he does whatever catches his interest and whatever makes things easiest for Leo, even if it means he gets in trouble when Leo should've. He's really intelligent and has a plethora of hobbies and interests, although he puts a lot of his passion in cooking and tends to drop most other things that aren't sports. And Leo, like he said, came here expecting it to be a lot more fun to be around other people who made pacts with demons, and he acts like he only cares about thrills, profits, and having a good time. Most of them don't care about others or only care about others in superficial ways that benefit them(again, with the exception of Sho who at least seems to be more good-natured and considerate so far, unless Leo is telling the truth when he says Sho acts that way to get and keep customers, which wouldn't make sense since Sho only recently started the food truck.)
About the meeting in the car, both of them were reaching for their weapons, not just Tohma. Because they didn't know what was happening when they were summoned to the car by the other but they were both confused, so they suspected foul play and prepared for a fight either way. They may have been about to fight each other, suspecting the other wasn't actually themself, frankly. I think they had their hands on their weapons before that panel was shown. See how they both already have their hands off to their sides by the time Leo pops in, after they both get confused? Reaching for their weapons was happening before Leo made himself known.
But Leo is smart enough to know Alan wouldn't let him get hurt even if Tohma started swinging--although I imagine he was being sarcastic when he said he didn't think Tohma knew who he was and he knew Tohma wouldn't just start attacking him mindlessly. Tohma was at the entrance ceremony(he already saw Tohma's information with Darkwick so he would have recognized him anyway, and he could probably ascertain from how diligent Tohma is that he would also recognize Leo already) and he also knew Tohma knew of him from when he listened in on them previously. Even if Tohma did pull out his weapon, Alan would have recognized Leo and his voice when he started speaking and protected him. Leo knows who his muscle is. He wouldn't have had put himself in a situation he didn't think he couldn't safely get out of. He does this kind of thing far too much to not know his exits--not to mention, you don't immediately hurt or kill someone who pulled something like he did. You get information first. It's just the smart thing to do, especially when they're already worried about a spy. (Plus you can't just willy nilly try and kill motherfuckers on campus. The likelihood that Tohma was actually going to try and kill, or even injure, him was slim to none.)
As for convincing the PC their power didn't work, they already knew it worked from when they used it in Frostheim. They just wouldn't think it always worked. He would still be able to ask them to come and use it on the basis of 'let's see if we can get it to work.' He'd be claiming it'd help them, because if they don't know what does and doesn't cause it to work, they and Darkwick would want to figure it out--and since he would be able to say 'it seems like it works when we use it together' they'd end up relying on him to help them understand when it does and doesn't work. The PC just probably wouldn't be sent on missions with them due to being a liability. Also, he could still spy on Tohma and Alan--just not while they're in the soundproofed car. He mentions in the campus chat that they likely have more than one place they meet up(unless he wasn't spying on Tohma and Alan at that point, but somebody else), and he also plants bugs in the car according to his home screen dialogues(although they get destroyed.) He'd be able to spy on them less, but it's not like they only ever meet in there, and I'm sure he'd figure that out quickly enough.
You have to remember what the guy does for a living outside of being an influencer--he corners rich people and basically makes them give up money in exchange for him not releasing information they'd wanna keep private. His proper introduction is at the "mercy" of a guy with a knife who's clearly threatened to stab him multiple times based on the multiple stabbed pillows around them, summoning Sho to help him. He puts himself in danger all the time, but he always has at least one way to be backed up. He was second in scholastic ability among all the first years. He's extremely intelligent and clever. Yes, he is short-sighted, but that's in terms of making things work. He'll treat the symptoms without resolving the problem if he can, like Alan said--if it gets the desired result who cares if it's right or wrong in the long run? But he's not so careless that he'd put himself into that much danger with no backup plan--although he is careless enough to put himself in the danger in the first place, but. Everything involves risks.
The problem is that backup plans can fall through and understandings of situations can too. Like Alan said, he does need to take better care of himself because he absolutely is careless--not extraordinarily so imo, but definitely careless. Leo is willing to put himself in danger for an end goal, but it's not like he runs into things with no plan and no backup. Leo is smart enough to get things to work with his wits and his words 99% of the time, but that one percent is gonna get him in real trouble eventually--and we've already seen his plans partially fall through two or three times(although two were after they served their purposes.) Alan realized when Sho wouldn't eat the spicy donuts that he and Leo lied about who was at fault for their acting outside of the scope of their mission. Even at the end of the encounter with the anomaly, Sho ended up telling the [half?] truth and backing up that the PC was able to buff his stigma instead of going on with their deal, which Leo hadn't expected. And the PC and Alan, in Alan's character story, end up investigating the actual circumstances behind Jun and Takeru's deaths. He's used to things working out for him and going his way, so he doesn't consider enough what could happen if they don't. Short-sighted, yeah, careless, yes but not as much so as you might think. Calculated risks, normally really good at math. But sometimes you get the math wrong.
I do think you're not wrong as far as most of them being a little short-sighted though. The only one I kinda disagree with is Sho, but even Sho's like. . .he only cares about his interests, but he goes through with what other people want from him anyway sometimes? Like he tends to train with Alan in The Pit despite complaining about it a lot, enough so that Alan doesn't have to use the punching bag in his room as much when he trains since he can spar with Sho instead. He's also constantly doing whatever Leo wants despite seeming to dislike it, and letting himself take the fall for Leo's bad behavior. But maybe that follower mentality is a sort of short-sightedness and tunnel vision as well. . .then again, like he said to Hyde, "If I can use you to get ahead, I'm doing it." That's not really very short-sighted at all, he clearly has other things in mind. . .but it's hard to tell with Sho. We rarely see his motivations. Like I can't really pin down what Sho is. . .after in life. But also, Sho cycles through interests(with the exception of cooking and maybe basketball) frequently, so I get the feeling that's the point. Sho doesn't know what he wants either, and he follows who and whatever seems most interesting. When the PC says he could make money off of cooking, he takes a shine to that idea and immediately opens up a food truck. Fortunately he seems to like cooking and serving food for others a lot, because he's sticking to it at the moment.

When you get this, list 3 facts about your favorite sim and send it to the last 3 people in your notifications! Let's get to know each other's sims!💞 (yeah i know i already asked 91920121 times but there's always MORE)
Thank you @simarcana @rebelangelsims and @honeybeenrw for sending these MWAH <333
Got 3 asks, so I'm picking 3 OC's...
Her sight is not the best, while she's ok with not wearing glasses regularly cause her issues are not as severe, she still does it every now and then whenever it's needed (like during car drives), or randomly just to relieve some eye strain.
She's REALLY anxious when it comes to needles, whenever she has to endure them while visiting the doctor, hospitals, etc, it's the worst time of her life. It's a miracle that she was able to get piercings, but she desperately wanted to have them, so she just suffered through the experience.
Is probably what you could call an empath. If the people around her that she loves aren't feeling well, there's a huge chance that she's feeling as bad, or maybe even worse than them because she worries so damn much.
Broke several of his own (and others) bones multiple times in his life, whether during fights, sports like skateboarding, work accidents or sometimes even randomly.
Is very much into retro video games, he grew up with a N64 and til today it stays being his favourite console, almost always preferring games from this era in comparison to newer ones.
Blonde isn't his natural hair color, he's tried quite a few colors in his life, but with blonde he feels the most comfortable. In reality his hair color is a really light brown shade.
Owns a large collection of unique keys. Her very favorite ones she has turned into accessories like necklaces or earrings, cause besides the history behind some of those, she's also into the aesthetic factor and likes to wear them as jewellery.
ALWAYS has to know about the zodiac signs of the people she meets. Astrology as a topic all over has been extremely interesting to her ever since her teen years, it's a kinda big part of her life and also one of her favorite hobbies.
Has a really strong aversion to food textures that are rather hard to chew, like pomegranate seeds, raw carrots, or certain meats. Mostly she prefers soft or creamy ingredients or meals, and often tends to cook everything until it's so tender that it's almost melting or falling apart.

Love the blog theme and colours! Esp the header. Can I get a HH matchup? The description is mostly pasted from another ask I did before, but like, I really don't have a new way do describe myself. Idk if this is as bad as sending the same propmp to two blogs, lmk cause I don't want to be disrespectful here
★Gender and pref: I’m a he/she and choose how I present myself based on the setting bc I’m not that open with ppl (yeah, it’s important to express yourself but realistically that won’t get me far in certain settings in my country); no gender pref but I’m not too fond of some writing choices when it comes to women in Viv’s works, depends on a character though
★Looks: my style has a rockstar gf vibe? Sometimes softer colours too. I'm 5’7, athletic but not ripped, gray eyes and wavy blonde hair. Ironically (in this context) lots of ppl call me an angel/angelic-looking. Not going to lie, that feeds into my ego a little bit but I don't really get what they mean. I wear makeup too, love the fox eye trend
★Personality, hobbies: I’m social and extroverted. Usually that leaves me as a leader of whatever group I’m in. I have a little bit of a hater in me, but I don’t show it if ppl don’t encourage it. I do like when it’s being enabled though. It’s not convenient when you’re in a position where ppl ask you for opinions and actually follow your guide, yk, if I manage an event I’m not going to go around shit talking everything. It feels nice to have someone who does that though, makes it easier to join in and not feel like a jerk (or at least be jerks together I guess??). I write my own songs and am in a band as a backup vocal. Kinda proud that it’s my band but I need to get better until I step up as anything more. I’m a bit of a perfectionist. I like to tease ppl if given the opportunity. Others say I’m flirty. Bold with it at that. I’m ambitious too. Kind of a big thing but I have npd (if you want to look it up without reading scientific papers, go on tumblr, the rest of the internet is filled with ‘demonic narcissism’ bullshit) and it influences the way I am. I care lots about my image and don’t have a ton of empathy. I don’t go kicking puppies, but it’s noticeable how I lack in this department. Sometimes people say I’m ’too nice to have it’ 🙄 cause i do well with kids and do all the youth group volunteering. Also, I do some martial arts and other sports. Kinda sceptical of romance at this point cause I had lots of it and I don’t mix well with a lot of people, but maybe I could do something serious for once if I had the right person. I try to be responsible and respectful but I have no issue finding my place at a wild party or something. I'm pretty chill in general, but I can be soft-er if I want, like with children or if the few ppl I‘m close with (I've got many friend groups but I struggle to make meaningful connections) need me. Usually I just stay my highly analytical, laid back self and say my silly little comments every once in a while. Heard I’m pretty funny if I want to be. My love language is acts of service. I like small things and I do them a lot. I can do words too, but I don't care for them in return. Like, you can be an asshole (up to a limit, I know my worth) and it’s cool with me if I see you have your ways of caring like putting on a song I like in the car
★❤️&💔: love movies like Fight Club (my fav), American Psycho and Donnie Darko; hate sharks, they freak me out; my fav book is The Catcher in the Rye; hate it when people push me to open up and be emotional; love music and I unironically had a few guys play songs AT me and I actually like that too, tho I get why ppl clown on it
★My type: I like people who are more negative than me and aren't afraid to shittalk everything. Just saying whatever, not caring if they offend ppl (up to a point, some issues aren’t debatable ik). They have to be somewhat funny. Just… not serious all the time at least. Don't really care for morality (to a certain point, again) if you're charismatic and fun to be around, I’m along for the ride and happy to support whatever you get yourself into. I think I would get along with someone who had a little npd too, I like to be able to relate to my partner a bit. If they work somewhat similarly, I don't have to struggle with understanding some stuff, bc I already know how to manage an ego or grandiose behavior. As for looks. Idk, I don’t have a set type. I think maybe ppl that are bigger than me? I’m pretty athletic so it’s not hard, but I guess that’s been a pattern? Also, I do enough of leading as is so in relationships, I don’t mind watching from the side and supporting whatever my partner is doing
-★🎶
first of all, thx!! my blog is all lute themed because i love her sm haha, also imo it’s not disrespectful so dw, but if some other blog gives you crap, i gotchu, anyway this was such a hard tie between quite a few characters, but here’s who i decided to pair you with…
Angel Dust !!
I was debating so hard between him, Husk, or Charlie — but decided with Angel cause he’s a happy medium imo
I feel like you and Angel can bond well, but under the correct conditions and circumstances, like you both have been through shit and it sucked — and it probably still has a tight grip on you today, but you guys give each other the boost to keep trucking along, you’re each others reasons to get out of bed each day, each others cheerleaders for lack of a better term
You definitely enjoy Angel because he’s not afraid to talk a bit of shit, but he’s also not as serious as Husk, he can have a good time, he also matches your flirty energy a lot so you guys kinda just bounce comebacks and random shit off eachother
Angel is ALL IN for your “rockstar + angelic partner” look, thinks it’s hot asf, genuinely thinks you were in Heaven at one point or another because of how undeniably beautiful you are
Angel also enjoys the kickass hater in you, you guys could sit and gossip and talk shit for several hours, but you both kinda keep eachother in check from going too far — especially infront of others
Despite Hazbin being a musical, I’d like to think Angel is canonically a good singer, because cmon, how could he not be with a VA like Blake Roman?? So he could easily sing at and/or for you, bitch would serenade you😩😩
Also bro finds the fact that you hate sharks hilarious asf, I could see him deciding to be a little fucker and getting you a shark plush as a gag/joke gift on Christmas or smth (or I guess Hellsmas?? Idfk.)
#reqs open#x reader#mio’s writing ! ☆#fanfiction#x y/n#x you#hazbin hotel#hazbin hotel x reader#hazbin hotel x y/n#hazbin hotel x you#angel dust x reader#angel dust#angel dust hazbin hotel#hazbin hotel angel dust#hazbin hotel angel#mio’s matchups ! ☆

Yeah, agreeing with the person I reblogged this from, and adding that if the majority of your focus is on criticism of something that also extends to insulting the people who enjoy that thing, that's where the key issue lies. I don't see anyone ever go "you can't criticize this work ever" in fandom, for instance. I always see "you can like a thing and still criticize it" in posts. Which is fair. Nothing is perfect. (Nabari No Ou comes close tho) I love FFXV but know it's heavily flawed, but I feel like enjoying the game instead of yelling about how it's not Versus XIII is kind of controversial. The negativity did start to get to me even when I agreed with many of the opinions! But that game also was a great way of getting me through after the US 2016 election results. When stressed, I just hopped in the car with the boys and enjoyed the scenery and banter. Meanwhile, I hated a couple of Tales games and a few characters, but dear friends of mine love them, so I try not to talk too much about any of that. I might discuss it between friends who have similar opinions or keep it to my blog, though. Definitely did that when I was more active in fandom, too, but I remember people making posts on forums to hate on characters, and it's like... I don't like this character either, but someone out there does. Sometimes it's okay to let people enjoy things without weighing in on it to them, or making a public statement as if one's opinion is fact, and that's the issue. You probably shouldn't let it ruin your experience, though, I do also agree with that. But it can be hard if you're hoping to find people to have a positive fandom experience with, and you're not finding that amongst all the criticism. Even harder if they do launch those critiques at you for liking the character/fandom or school subject or sport or hobby. I grew up around that. I liked to play a couple of sports, my parents hated sports and got angry and ranted whenever I even hinted at enjoying basketball or tennis too much. I didn't watch sports, but if I had, that would've been unacceptable. Playing them was bad enough! I should be like them! And it was never "sports can put its players in danger" or "women aren't paid like men in soccer" or "they exploit impoverished kids with the promise of scholarships and wealth" - legit criticisms that have real life implications of harm. It was "I fucking hate sports and people are annoying when they're into sports and blah blah blah" instead. The way you treat something does affect others, and what criticism you have for it matters as well.
people complaining that any critique of a thing they like ruins it for them is such a skill issue. personally i can spend 10 hours a day critiquing the things i like and still enjoy them passionately and wholeheartedly
#sorry to go on a tangent#but I've been through way too much 'you shouldn't like the thing actually' from birth to recent#and you gotta learn to ignore most of it but sometimes it's definitely hard#some of you will pass this onto your kids bc my parents certainly did and that negativity is potent#find a good balance of letting people enjoy what they like and knowing when and where to critique something and HOW tbh#'you like this so you should d!e' is way to common with online fandom spaces for instance

Yesterday was a bad day for me. My Halloween was ruined. Hopefully next year is better for me. I woke up with cramps (so I'll probably start bleeding soon), the weather was colder than I originally thought so I'd say that it was a nightmare being outside. And I kept fucking up all of my makeup, I was so angry about that because I took a long time just working on my hair and makeup. Every little thing that happened. Not a single thing went as planned for me this month, especially when for Halloween day. I hope next year is better than this year though. I'm so upset by everyone and everything yesterday. Every thing was ruined.
The only good thing about yesterday was eating candy, since I was so able to try some new flavors. Mostly lollipops. Not the other candies.
I have a thought! Rocky has his businesses. Club Heaven is one of the main businesses that we know of.. Do you think they would have a lot of theme nights at the club? In general and on holidays? If they would stay open on holidays anyway, like Valentine's Day and Halloween? I'd see certain themes happening for some holidays if they ever did that.
~
Now that Halloween is over. I have to decide which shows and movies I'm going to watch next.. Since there are just so many too watch now.
Anyway.
Yeah. I'm not completely sure if they participated in the rope climbing game.. But, being in the montage, there's a strong possibly they really were a part of that game and just won. But that is why I think though.
But yes! I have no balance, aim, rhythm or anything else you will may need to be physically active. That includes dancing and sports too.
I need at least one, maybe two, character who can balance out any of my other characters who aren't that skilled in spade games.. But I still don't know my characters strength and weaknesses are yet so I could figure that out before trying to developed these characters anymore.
Yeah. There isn't much to the Distance game. Everyone has run.. Only to find out you have to stay in the bus, you find out they'd have to run the vehicles (cars and motorcycles) because you need certain parts - because there are specific mechanics and technologies that still work in Borderlands. So that is thanks to Arisu's friend for figuring that out.
Building legos? Seriously. People still do that? I would not expect that hobby from you. Actually I don't know much about you so I can't even comment about that then.. But I'm surprising people still like legos.
That could be a game. I don't trust it though... Mostly because if I was in a situation where I might potentially drown and my life was in other people's hands. I don't trust it. I'd rather die than take the chance too.
~
Aguni would choose Heiya over your card soldier? That's interesting... I don't know why I think that's interesting though. But, then again, his character does seem to have a soft spot towards Heiya for reasons I'd never understand. Why he's so nice towards her, but not anyone else?
Just about every character's gender is swapped. And most of them is swapped.. Minus only a few who weren't swapped already though. I'm so tired that I'm not making any sense right now. Or I don't think I am.
And Nezuko! Well.. Kind of. That name Nezu is what came to mind for me when I thought of that name. But not exactly Nezumi or Nezumo.
~
Since I was so undecided on my White/Green character, I made a poll for her. But I doubt anyone would vote with how small this fandom is.
~
Like I told you a couple nights ago.. I watched Midnight. And I have to say, I stand by my statement. Any Asian media has the suspense that American media lacks in most shows and movies - especially modern American media. American media people need to take notes over this if they're actually paying attention. But they're never paying attention.
I'll watch to watch the movie again soon. Oh! And like I was telling you though. The one soldier was Tae Won-seok. He's the actor of who was Inbeom in Bloodhounds. And he's a lot younger than I thought he'd be too, I don't even know why I thought he was older than his actual age.
And I liked the ending. The deaf mother and daughter becoming very friends with the marine and his sister. They're like a found family with the four of them. So I'm happy that it was a happy ending for them.
I don't know why.. But something about the way his voice was, for the killer, his angry tone of voice reminded me of Gwi-nam for any reason that I don't know? I don't know. But that's what he sounded like to me though. Maybe he will sound differently next time I watch the movie.
Even if he did leave the mafia behind to become a "clean" person now in any way, he would still be a criminal who would have been the main leader of the mafia. He sold many drugs and weapons, also murdered people and who knows what other crimes he might have committed.
But still... The wrong cop squad tried arresting the mafia because any of the don's former friends wanted to betray him a lot sooner than the other people thought was going to happen. I mean. They were just so impatient to wait that they ruined up their own plan. The irony to that is funny. And also stupid. How can someone be that stupid though?
Regardless of the relationship between the male cop and the Chinese female associate. That's awkward. They might have some feelings for each other in some way. Even to warn her that her and her family was going to be arrested, so he warned her to start a new life before then.
So he blotched that.
I mean. At least that's realistic? Maybe your mind is so screwed up on which is real and not real.. Obviously she's your wife. But after both of them kinda had an affair with their main targets, that may have really messed with their minds? But, it seems like they would have to repair, like repair their relationship in some way to forgive the other person is what I'm getting from it? But I don't know. I haven't seen the show yet so I don't know the whole situation with that. But I still think it's really awkward that you would place your wedding ring one anyone's grave, especially if that grave doesn't even belong to your own dead spouse.

my halloween was also pretty meh. i had to work and australia didn’t really celebrate halloween when i was a kid and still doesn’t really. my mum almost hit a kid that was crossing the road without looking to. dumbass parent was nowhere to be seen and her young daughter had to stop a third unattended kid from crossing the street in front of our car.
!! i also had shitty cramps the other day!! but i’m not on my period yet. got a couple days until then. but the cramps have been ramping up. should probably see a doctor about it since my last few periods have had seriously bad cramps - like worse than usual - and i have pcos, but meh. nah.
i could see rocky having theme nights at club heaven! i bet kizzy like dressing up for halloween. she probably drags kaito into couples costumes. i bet koo is impossible to convince to dress up. i can’t think of what rocky would dress up as. maybe jack skellington? the whole pinstripe suit and skull makeup. im not sure.
~
speaking of new things to watch, have you heard of knuckle girl? it’s on amazon prime but it’s probably on other sites by now. it’s an action movie with ayaka miyoshi and goki maeda! ayaka looks so pretty!! from the description, it’s about ayaka’s character joining a ‘no-rules deathmatch’ while looking for her missing sister, and ‘trading in her boxing gloves for brass knuckles’.
interestingly it’s made by a korean director but with a japanese cast. i’ll probably be watching it tonight so i’ll write up a lil thing of my thoughts for my next reply.
~
i still need to figure out what games i want my card soldier to do. i know he’s mainly a spades player, but i still haven’t decided on what canon games he’d be in and what ones i need to make up for him. i have more of an idea for my dormouse but that’s probably because i’ve been focusing on her more.
i like legos! it’s very relaxing. and i’m not just sitting around with a box of legos, i’m like doing the ‘adult’ lego sets. like the botanicals and i got the vespa for my birthday. i’ve got a couple different non-lego building sets from japan and china too, and nanoblocks are fun. it’s just relaxing to sit and do something with my hands and see an immediate result, like doing a physical craft. i tried origami but i’m not great at it.
my dormouse is on the trusting side, but she’s also a lil self-sacrificing. like ‘if nobody else wants to do it, i’ll volunteer and risk a drowning death in a glass case. it’s fine, i can hold my breath for a long time.’ also chishiya’s there and she trusts him to figure out the puzzles. i can force him to play clubs games if i shove him alongside kuina.
i want to rework my king of hearts game too. i still like the idea of the players being drugged - like how mira drugs arisu and usagi in the queen game - but i want to rework it more. there was on a short scene of it in the montage and the wiki doesn’t have much infor on. i might lean more into the labyrinth vibe. minotaur….
~
to be fair, aguni kind of sees too much of himself in the card soldier since they have the same kind of anger towards their abusive fathers, so he distances himself a lil from him. i just choose to think that aguni has a soft spot for girls. in the manga, as a kid he would draw his abusive dad’s attention away from his mother. plus, he does have the misfortune of a lot of his scenes being at the beach where he got stuck dealing with the more violent members and watching his best friend spiral into madness - which he also blames on the beach - so. probably not feeling his kindest and making him come off especially cold.
using ‘鼠子’ for nezuko would translate to ‘rat child’, not the most complimentary and i don’t know if it’s commonly used as name kanji, but it works.
~
midnight is So Good. it’s so good!! wi ha joon does exceptionally in villainous roles, he’s just got an energy about him and in midnight he’s excellent. him and the main actress have great chemistry for the whole cat-and-mouse situation. and the ambience and suspense is done so well. asia is doing horror thriller movies like no one else.

A few years after Vecna, Steve gets invited back to the high school to play in a charity basketball match with (and against) other Hawkins basketball alumni. It's for charity, and he misses the rush of playing (and he kinda wants to see if he's still any good), so he agrees.
He asks Eddie if he'll be there, but although Eddie's somewhat enthusiastic to Steve's face, he whines about it for days to Wayne. He fucking hates sports, why did he have to fall for a fucking jock, of all things. UUUGH! Wayne puts up with it for a while before realising that Eddie's not going to talk himself around, and gives him a blunt, verbal kick in the ass.
"You think your boy enjoys watching your dungeon and dragons shtick, son?" He asks, sipping at his beer.
Eddie's offended, immediately.
"He's never missed a session, course he loves it." he says. "And i know he pays attention because we talk about it afterwards and he's always..."
"And how's that make you feel?" Wayne interrupts.
"Fucking amazing." Eddie grumbles, knowing what's coming, and hating it.
"...and how do you talk about his hobbies?"
Eddie sighs and covers his face. Wayne carries on, knowing he's made his point but hammering it home nonetheless.
"Your boy loves his sports, he's always here just in time to watch the games with me nowadays. And don't think I haven't noticed how bored you are when it's on. I reckon he's noticed too."
Eddie's silent, starting at the ceiling with a dramatic, melancholy pout.
"Ah shit." He sighs. "I'm a bad boyfriend, aren't I?"
"Maybe. Maybe not. But learn from it if you want to be better." Wayne shrugs. "He makes you happy by indulging in your hobbies, maybe you should think about doing the same. Guarantee it'll put a smile on your boy's face, if nothing else."
So next time Steve brings it up, (tentatively, like he knows Eddie will complain) Eddie is much more genuinely enthusiastic. Steve's surprised for a split second (and doesn't that hurt), before he's beaming and looking absolutely delighted. And shit, yeah ok. It does make Eddie feel good to see Steve happy. Course it does.
The game rolls around, and hell yeah, it's boring to watch. Eddie's been reading up on the rules, so he's not entirely confused, but it just seems so pointless. Steve's good though. From what he's seen (and he's totally not biased, thanks) Steve's running rings around the other team, and Eddie's so fucking proud! It helps that Steve's in those shorts, showing off damn near the full length of his legs.
More importantly, he looks so fucking happy while he's playing. He keeps shooting Eddie these big, beaming smiles when they've scored a hoop, or point, or whatever they're called, and Eddie finds himself melting where he sits, face aching from smiling so much in return.
By the end of the game Eddie's fully invested. Sure, he barely understands what's going on, but even he knows enough that getting the ball in the hoop is a good thing, and Steve does it loads. Their team wins, and there's a huge group hug, pats on the back and other sporty, manly things before they all part ways and start making their way out to the parking lot.
Eddie stays put. He knows Steve will come right to him, and he does. They walk back to Steve's car together, and Steve's on some sort of winner's high; all smiles and cocky strutting. It's kinda hot. Screw that, it's totally hot, and suddenly Eddie's glad that Wayne's working tonight and they've got the place to themselves.
"Surprised you lasted the whole game, Eds." Steve says, teasingly, before he just downs a water bottle. "Thought you'd have died of boredom halfway though."
"Pssh." Eddie waves him off, trying not to feel embarrassed. "You know, Stevie, you're pretty amazing at that." He waves his hand vaguely back towards the court. "That shot you made from almost the centre? Chills, baby, full on chills."
Steve doesn't even bother checking to see if anyone's watching. He slams Eddie against the side of his car and kisses him, cradling Eddie's face with his hands, as though he'd die if he didn't have full body contact.
And Eddie knows the feeling. Like when Steve had recounted a particularly awesome moment from his campaign, and all Eddie had wanted to do was drag him right to the bedroom.
Steve pulls away.
"Get in." He said, opening the car door for Eddie like the gentleman he is.
And fuck, if this is the reaction he gets for paying attention, then he's definitely doing it more. If he's honest with himself, he should have been doing it from day one, but yeah sometimes he's a bit dense and needs a push in the right direction.
So basketball's boring as shit usually, but when Steve's playing? Hell yeah. He'll even put up with listening about it (and even football), if it puts that smile on Stevie's face. That's the price for dating a jock, he guesses, but it's miniscule, and it's fucking worth it.
#eddie munson#steddie#steve harrington#Eddie making the effort to learn Steve's hobbies is so important to me#There's tons of the other way around...but Steve deserves to be able to talk about and enjoy his own stuff too#although Eddie has his pride...his boyfriend's happiness is WAY more important#(He still grizzles when Steve and Wayne watch 'the game' together though...he's a little shit...but it's more teasing than complaining)#Wayne hates D&D but he'll take that to his grave. He and Steve have talked about it...it's Eddie's enthusiasm that keeps them interested#Steve enjoys it...but mainly the atmosphere that comes from the party all enjoying themselves...he'll never play it himself#just like Eddie will never play basketball...but he enjoys watching Steve play

For the fanfic challenge how about Tony/Rhodey with "We could be Royals" as the title?
This gives me MIT outsider-pov vibes. I will not do it justice but I'm at peace with that.
We Could Be Royals
"Here they come," Natasha murmured into plastic cup, nudging Clint subtly.
Of course, Clint was about as subtle as a brick to the face himself, so he whipped around, already goggling. Natasha closed her eyes and sighed, then opened them again, peeking out of the corner of her eye at the door.
When she'd first been brought into their friend group, she'd gotten on the rundown on everyone. All of it was very basic, who everyone was and their major, small hobbies. Light stuff until trust was earned, Natasha had thought to herself.
And then Steve had turned toward her and said, "Oh, Tony and Jim aren't here, but you should probably know that they're basically campus royalty, are head-over-heels for each other, and don't know either of those things."
Natasha was mortified to this day that her response had been an inelegant, "Hah?" that spewed her smoothie all over him.
But it had been true. Even when they were being sassy, people seemed to love them. They were highly intelligent. Tony had already defended a dissertation and was working on a second one, and Jim was getting ready to defend his first, but they always seemed to make time if someone needed genuine help with their own projects. They weren't just focused on their academics though, either, because Natasha had heard that they'd taken apart the dean's car and put it on the roof of the science wing. The dean had even been a good sport about it, since they'd thrown in a few upgrades to the engine when they got it back down.
And they were totally, stupidly in love with each other. It was kind of sad to watch, their pining for the other. Natasha would have put them out of their misery, but it was like watching a car crash. She couldn't look away. They pointed pretty girls out to each other and then watched, secretly stricken, as they went to flirt. Luckily, they never actually pulled any dates, because everyone was aware they loved each other and at this point didn't want to be the person that came between them. Natasha had told Clint about it and he hadn't believed her, so she'd invited him up to show him in person.
"You're telling me that they grab each other's ass, and they still don't know they wanna bang," Clint said solemnly as he watched Tony and Jim circle the room together to greet everyone. "And people have just let this happen for years."
"I mean, to be fair, there was an age gap that was gross and illegal when they first met," Natasha pointed out.
"But now it's not and they're just sad at each other," Clint surmised. "Natasha, I'm already disgusted. I can't handle this."
"They don't really... notice subtlety," Natasha said slowly, because she'd watched all their other friends surreptitiously been try to get them to notice each other's feelings and it hadn't worked yet. She'd been trying to figure out how to make them realize it without as much subtlety, but all that came to mind was bashing their heads together, and even then, they'd probably go after her first in revenge before even realizing they'd kissed.
"Natasha, who's your friend?" Tony asked as they finally made it over to them. He wrinkled his nose as he took in Clint's black eyes, the cut on his lip, the cast around his left arm. "He looks--"
"Fit," Jim cut in sternly.
Tony scowled up at him. "I wasn't going to say anything bad. I was going to say... broken."
"You can't just call someone broken, Tony," Jim sighed, but he looked more fond than offended. "You said you weren't going to say anything bad and yet that was."
Luckily, Clint apparently knew what Tony meant, because he lifted his casted arm and very proudly declared, "I got in a fist fight rescuing a dog. His name is Lucky and he only has one eye."
"I love him," Tony told Clint seriously.
"As much as you love Jim?" Clint retorted.
"I don't love anything as much as I love Rhodey. I don't want to marry a dog, that's stupid," Tony answered, and then went white as a sheet.
"You what?" Jim asked.
Natasha grabbed Clint by the back of his shirt and dragged him away frantically, because of this was how they were going to express their feelings for each other, she absolutely did not want to fucking be there. "Did you do that on purpose?!" she hissed, dragging him around a corner.
"Yes? Natasha, that was fucking sad, I can't watch sad things and you know that," Clint scoffed.

Do you know how to explain trans to older people / parents? I've gotten the same question over and over from both my parents and grandparents and that's "But why do you want to be a boy if you don't like cars or don't want to play sports?" Upon clarification, I essentially found out that they seem to believe NOT that all men like cars and trans men do too, but that people transition specifically because they want to do the hobbies "of the opposite sex." Like to them it isn't even "I'm becoming a boy, so I like cars and sports", but "I like cars and sports so I'll become a boy." Like to them, my cis guy pal who likes ballet and dolls has enough reasons to become a girl.
My sexologist (we don't have GIPs here, a sexologist works with trans people) tried to explain it to my mother repeatedly but failed every time (my mom kept going in circles no matter how many times the sexologist explained everything).
I also tried to explain it by saying that it's a neurological condition that causes my brain to be of a different gender than the body and that my sexual characteristics and things like voice or the lack of facial hair cause me distress. I was met with "But you liked both dolls and cars when you were little! And you didn't tell us that you were a boy when you were a toddler!" and tried to explain "Well, I didn't even know trans people existed, how could I have known that I was when I was a kid? Do you know that your leg is broken if you don't know what a broken leg is? Plus you always told me that I could play with anything and never bothered to gender toys nor clothes, probably because I was a girl so you didn't think I'd need that knowledge, so I played with anything." but they never listen to that, they say "No! All trans people know they're trans since they're born! They demand to be called a different name (a fun fact is that I did actually express absolute hatred of my name since an early age) and refuse to even socialise with people of their agab!"
I have no idea how I'm supposed to explain myself to them. I ran out of ideas tbh.
I can't promise these ideas will help but I got a few ideas. Note that a lot of these over simplify things and aren't going to be perfect analogies. But they can help to at least get someone in the right direction. And yes I am aware of how vaguely these relate-- but from what it sounds being specific isn't helping. Warning too: these ideas can apply to a lot more than being trans just an fyi.
When I first started realizing I was trans I explained it to myself using two things:
1. Imagine you're on a tran and you're going through a tunnel. It's dark but it's not bad. You're comfortable. Can't see anything out the window but you don't mind. You're ok where you are. You're content. Suddenly, the tunnel ends! And you can see out the window. There is an amazing view!! The most amazing view you've ever seen. And even tho you were just content and satisfied in the tunnel, you don't want to go back now. You were content in the tunnel until you saw the view outside. Of course you don't want to be in the tunnel when you can see this amazing view! Similarly, you were content as a girl until you really started thinking about yourself as a boy-- and now you can't imagine going back. Because you like being a boy so much more.
2. I personally really don't like vanilla cake. Like... I really don't. But I can still eat it. I like the frosting that comes with it. If someone hands me vanilla cake I won't complain, I won't be upset. I'll eat it and be fine. But if someone offered me vanilla or chocolate cake-- I'd pick the chocolate cake hands down every time. I love chocolate cake. I'd eat it all day if I could. If chocolate is ever an option, then vanilla will never make me happy. If being a boy is an option, then being a girl will never make me happy.
A few other ideas I got:
3. Ever had a family member knits you an itchy and ugly sweater that you hate? (I never have personally, but still). Do you remember having to wear it to family gatherings all the time to make that person happy? Your parents made you and you hated every second of it? But you still did it. And seeing that smile on that family members face... Well, it made it feel a little more ok. You're happy that they are happy. You're glad you could show them you care even if you don't actually like the sweater. We all do things we don't like in order to show we love those around us. It's just part of showing you care.
Often when you're trans, you'll look, wear, play with, etc certain things because they are there and they make you happy. You're mom gave you a doll, of course you're gonna play with it. It was a gift from mom and you love your mom. Your grandma buys you a dress, of course you're gonna wear it. She wanted to make you happy and it's not a terrible dress. Because you were raised as a girl, of course there will be girly things you've liked in the past. Because you were a girl, you were given girl clothes and girl toys-- naturally you wore and played with those. Because you want to show you care about the gifts given to you.
Now that you're older, you have more of a choice in what you say, wear, and do. And part of growing was realizing you were trans. And just because you were given girl clothes and toys as a kid, doesn't change anything about who you are.
4. Let's say you are 8 and have a potato allergy. Everytime you eat potatoes you get what you call "potato sweats." Everything gets hot and a sweaty and you wanna pass out. But as time goes on you're fine. You think everyone deals with this because no one has told you that it's not normal. No one else complains about potatoes. You figure everyone just deals with the potato sweats and it's fine.
Once you're in high school you complain about the potato sweats while eating fries. And your friend looks at you like you're insane. You explain what you're talking about and everyone at your table tells you it's not normal. You talk to a doctor and they tell you that you're allergic. How were you supposed to know? You thought it was normal to feel that way!! It wasn't until you learned about how others feel when eating potatoes and you knew something was wrong.
Being trans is very similar. Sometimes you're so used to feeling outta place with your own body that it feels normal to you. It's not till later that you may realize what you're feeling isn't actually normal.
That's all I can think of right now. If anyone else has ideas feel free to share. I tried to keep my ideas broad because I feel like that easier to understand.
#answered#ask#not discourse#trans#trans advice#lgbt advice#number 2 the cake idea actually got a super funny reaction from my gf#i wasnt out to anyone yet but was venting feelings on a side blog#she happened to find it and came to me crying about how she was sorry for making me eat vanilla cake#😂😂😂#it was a good time

Sydney's childhood wasn't one of much happiness or innocence. Her mother wasn't the greatest at choosing men and it was no surprise it hadn't lasted with Sydney's father. He'd taken off when she was still an infant and he's stayed largely absent her entire life - the occasional child support payment the only proof he even knew she existed. Her mother and he fought constantly over money, making that her only memories of her dad.
After their split, her mother lived in and out of the single life. All the while dragging Sydney along for the ride - town to town, school to school, step dad to step dad. Needless to say that time of her life was mostly bad, with the good rare yet memorable. It also meant there was numerous types of abuse she was forced to both endure and witness.
As soon as she was old enough she left it all behind, including her mother. One of the better choices for temporary step father taught her the skills she now uses to make a living as a mechanic. That along with her side hustle as makeup artist - the expertise in special effects an added bonus to the year of d.i.y.ing her Halloween costumes, being unable to afford them any other way - makes her enough to get by.

i saw your reblog of the Spencer giving Aaron a father's day card thing and i can't stop thinking about how Aaron is the father figure to the entire team now.
(yes I'm also especially thinking about that one scene of Spencer and Derek stuck in the malfunctioning lift shrieking for Aaron just because. 🥴 dad!Hotch ftw!!!!!)
i know this concept has probably been done hundreds of times already but imagine: (SORRY THIS IS GOING TO BE A REALLY LONG ASK, I deeply apologise in advance)
[tw food/eating habits, some references to murder cases because you know this is Criminal Minds, some slight spoilers for people who haven't really watched the show and also reference & mention of autism & a character on the autism spectrum -> just a heads up, a disclaimer, I'm in no way diagnosed with autism, so if i have misrepresented autism, or made any mistakes, i apologise, it wasn't my intention, and i welcome all feedback & criticism — i genuinely want to learn]
a year after Spencer joins the BAU, Aaron notices & becomes very concerned over Spencer's (super bad) eating habits aka him only drinking coffee and forgetting to eat actual proper food when he gets absorbed in cases or research or reading etc -> which results in Aaron absolutely being like "hey Spencer let's grab lunch together" almost everyday just so Spencer eats (healthy, full meals)
(also Spencer picking up on this after Aaron "casually" gets him lunch/treats him to dinner/invites him over for meals for almost every day of the week and he was initially almost irritated/offended until he realised he could use Aaron's habit to make Aaron himself eat properly too because this hypocritical bastard doesn't eat properly himself either so every alternate day you can see Spencer purposely not going for lunch breaks while sneaking glances at Aaron's office just waiting for him to notice and drag them both to lunch together 😌)
also I really think Spencer is on the autistic spectrum (high functioning, imo, but I'm not really sure how this works, and I'd have to do more research) so I'd like to imagine Aaron knows that too because he's noticed Spencer's behaviors + Spencer got an official diagnosis and told him about it maybe 6-7 months into joining the BAU so I really think Aaron lets Spencer stim (physically, his hand gestures) on their lunch break because he knows that Spencer can't really do that in front of the others, so even when they're on cases, he would take Spencer out either for a private lunch or dinner or something, just the two of them, and he'd let Spencer stim & talk about any subject of his fancy as much as he wants to (I'm pretty sure someone wrote a fic like this and I absolutely can't remember the name or the author but I really LOVED the idea too)
initially Spencer was really taken aback too, because you know, this isn't something you do with your boss, of all people, but Hotch had always meant what he says and his facial expression and body language suggested that he was being absolutely sincere and serious about this, so Spencer tentatively started talking, and as their meal progressed, he eventually got comfortable enough to just go on, and not once did Aaron cut him off rudely, until the end of their meal, when Aaron couldn't continue to pretend to drink his soup because he'd finished it somehow with those incredibly small spoonfuls, and he'd had to gently tell Spencer that they had to go back, but Spencer wasn't upset, because he'd just got over an hour to talk about this recent seminar about the connection of ancient Greek mythology to the developments of the society in ancient Greece which no one had ever done for him before and he's full, satisfied and beyond elated because Hotch really didn't have to do this, but he did anyways
at first it was just something between them but eventually Derek noticed & like in the end I think it's a kind of open secret between Aaron, Spencer & Derek and now when Derek notices Aaron doing it he gives Aaron a small nod and he wards off & deals with the questions that the others have when they inevitably notices the private meals Aaron & Spencer has
speaking of Derek, Aaron definitely has 1 on 1 time with Derek too, but doing different things. Derek's thing is sports & home renovations, and he repairs/maintains cars & bikes when he can, and I like to imagine Aaron knowing about his hobbies and casually asking Derek about the home renovation he's working on one time (before or early S1) Derek came into his office to submit a case file, and Derek being kind of shocked/caught by surprised initially (because he knows Hotch has a soft spot for the kid because he's much younger and much, much more inexperienced but Derek's older and should know better, so Hotch won't do the whole private lunch thing with him, right?) but then he grins and starts telling Aaron about how "I got that place absolutely shining right now, man" and then he invites Aaron over to take a look at the place out of courtesy/habit (his mama raised him as a good, polite young man, and no way Hotch would even say yes right?) and to his surprise once again, Aaron does accept his invitation
after that one time, Aaron begins casually asking him about his projects and even starts offering to help him do some of the painting and decorating (to be fair, it calms Aaron too, to have a getaway from Haley and initially from the crying baby, because while he absolutely loved Haley and Jack with all his heart, some days, some days he just couldn't take it, all the stress from Strauss and from trying to be a good father unlike his own, and he had to take some time off to himself, and painting walls is calming and therapeutic to him in some sense) & Derek and Aaron start bonding over hotdogs while sitting out on the front porch of some halfway remodelled house, talking about the latest sports news (they support different baseball teams but that's okay, because Derek gets to grin at Hotch and ask him to pay up when Hotch's team loses to his, and Aaron gets to raise his eyebrows with that small knowing smirk of his and ask Derek to "complete this by the next weekend, will you" when Derek's team loses to his)
when Aaron recruits Penelope, he's read her file, or what little the FBI's cyberteam got on her anyways. he knows the Black Queen's reputation, and he knows that the cyberteam really don't trust her and recommended high levels of surveillance, but the moment he saw her through the glass of the interrogation room and her resume & application on pink paper, he knew that she's not just what the file said she is. initially, she sticks to the "bureau regulated office attire" because you know, Penelope knows she's lucky, she should've been jailed for what she did, she was jailed, until this Aaron Hotchner guy decided, somehow, that she was deserving to be on his team, even after looking at her resume, which she had written on pink paper out of pure spite (because nothing in the FBI rulebooks said anything about submitting your application on specialized coloured paper anyways) but she was moody and unhappy because she's stuck in this tiny office having to answer the phone whenever agents called to ask for details on icky, gruesome murders and disgusting, vile murderers so she decides that hey, since no one ever comes in here anyways, she might as well do some re-decorating right? so she starts bringing in her own soft toys and figurines and starts amassing a whole collection of soft, plushy, and colourful toys in because it's her office and if she has to deal with all these yucky stuff on a daily basis she's going to make it at least bearable to be in here
one day, some tall, stern looking guy just comes into her office with this Tupperware in his hands saying "hey, Garcia right? my wife made some extra cupcakes for the team, you want some?" and she asks "do i know you?" and he blinks, stands there for one, two seconds before- "sorry, i forgot we haven't actually met. Special Supervisory Agent Aaron Hotchner, assistant unit chief of BAU Team 1, nice to meet you," [i like to headcannon that before Boston & all, Hotch was Gideon's assistant, some kind of assistant unit chief probably, but while he wasn't yet the unit chief he was definitely taking care of most, if not all of the administration matters i.e. hiring new agents etc already because let's be real Gideon is caring & capable but really hands off sometimes (also in S1E1 Derek referred to Gideon as their Unit Chief so I assumed Hotch took over the position full time, officially somewhere between S1E1 and S1E2 or 3)]
and then Garcia's brain kind of short-circuits because holy shit this is her BOSS, aka the guy who somehow, crazily looked at her resume and decided to HIRE her and she just asked him if she knew him OH GOD ALL THOSE FIGURINES- and she tries to explain because she really didn't mean to break any rules with them and they aren't, are they? and she can remove them but just, please, she can't go back to prison.
but then Agent Hotchner just goes "hey, hey, Penelope. it's fine. I understand. this is your office, and you have the right to decorate it. I'm not going to fire you over.... My Little Ponies? and uh, some unicorns?" and Penelope can't help but laugh because he genuinely looks baffled by her collection on her desk, and did he just call her Penelope?
and after that, once, after a bad case that Aaron knew affected Penelope (it involved murdered parents & their only child left orphaned and it just hit too close to home for Penelope), he stopped by a local toy shop and bought the brightest, most sparkly, most colourful thing he could find in there (it ended up being a small figurine of a princess on a small, detachable throne that could light up and play some really funky pop music. Aaron cringed internally as he brought it over to the counter, and awkwardly nodded as the cashier asked, "buying this for your daughter, sir? she's going to love it, it's the latest in a collectable series" and he pretended to not see the questioning eyebrow that Derek gave him after seeing the package) and when he presented it to Penelope when they got back, he got the biggest and most bone crushing hug ever from Penelope because "aw that's so sweet, thank you! and you got me the latest in the collection! it's limited edition!" and it just ended up becoming a tradition — Penelope always looks forward to the end of a case now, not only because that means her people are coming home, safe, in one piece (sometimes debatable but still, they're coming home, to her) but it also means that Hotch has brought her yet another tiny figurine or souvenir to add to her collection and she can't wait to see what it is, and Hotch always, always, finds the time after they've wrapped up the case, before the jet leaves, to pop by a local toy shop to get both Penelope and later, when he's older, Jack some toys or souvenir from wherever state he's in, because he wants both of them to know, that despite all the bad out there, there is still good in the world, and they should never forget that
OKAY this ask is SUPER LONG already i apologise skfjsk i have ideas for JJ & Emily but idk if you'd even wanna continue reading them... (maybe.... give me a sign and I'll send another ask and write it? 🥴)
anyways this was just something that came up and i had to write it out 🥺 sorry for spamming you, i hope you're having a great day/night ahead.

Hi so I'm putting everything below the cut for scrolling purposes x
He is!!
Oh my god, I love that scene. It came up in a TikTok about ships, because Person A and Person B are both very smart when they're alone, but put them together and it cancels out, and it made me laugh.
I also love Dad Hotch. Like I love him as much as I love "fighting to keep his emotions in check because he needs to be a leader, but you can tell from the slight change in tone, or the slight glaze of his eyes that he's seconds away from crying" Hotch. Which is saying something.
DON'T APOLOGISE FOR LONG ASKS!! That's what the keep reading on posts is for :))
Oh I love how much Hotch cares about Reid, and of course Reid uses it to his advantage to get Hotch to do the same, because they're similar in that way. Also, he would definitely start grinning when Hotch looks down at his empty plate like: oh. Platonic Hotchreid is everything to me, because it's these two people that have been caretakers their entire life trying to look after another person that wouldn't let anyone do that and it's just... the HOTCH ANGST POTENTIAL THAT IS SO UNTAPPED!!!
Also, not a criticism of you, but from what I've heard from people is that functioning labels are harmful and shouldn't be used because it misrepresents the situation!
I love that idea though!! And Derek being protective over them so he's just like: no, you won't interrupt them, and I will take control of the situation for a few hours AAH!!
OH I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT MORGAN AND HOTCH BONDING!! It's so perfect!! I love the idea of Morgan teaching Hotch to do things, and Hotch realising how relaxing he finds it to do these things.
And because we can't have nice things: he refuses to go after Foyet breaks into his apartment because he doesn't deserve peace, but then Morgan just uses his key, drags him out, takes him to a house and presses a brush into his hand because he's not going to let his friend self destruct like this.
EVERYTHING ABOUT GARCIA!! OH MY GOD!! I need to get some work done, so I'm going to finish up there, but seriously!! Amazing!! I love the idea of Hotch getting her little figurines and stuff <33
(shameless self promo, she does the same for him in "and he will come back home" hehe)
I would love to hear the Emily and JJ ones!! I hope that's the sign you need :)
Don't apologise for spamming I was having a dull day, and I hope you have a good day too!

I need an advice. A character in my story is somewhat inspired by Wally. Very 'somewhat" - it's not so much filing off the serial numbers as using the car details to build some other thing that might not even be a car. And speaking of things that aren't cars, my not-Wally needs some ~extreme~ hobby that *isn't* car racing. Him having that kind of hobby is the first thing I knew about my character, but I don't want him to be into racing. Too bad my imagination got stuck. So what should I do?
First, super flattered that you came to me, wow! Thanks!! Second, I really adore your use of a car metaphor, while talking about cars, that’s incredible. I’d totally love to read your actual fiction writing if this is how you send an ask.
As for your actual question! It sort of depends on whether you want this extreme hobby to lean toward the ‘dangerous’ or the ‘illegal’ side of things. A couple of the dangerous options that come to mind: Storm chasing, like the whole driving-after-tornadoes-with-a-camera thing–same car theme, but not racing. Parkour, especially if he goes for the really risky rooftop stuff (or, flat-out rock climbing). Maybe something with chemistry, if he likes messing around with volatile chemicals; that could even lean toward illegal if he acquires rare compounds from less than savory characters.
On the illegal side of the spectrum: Gambling is the first thing I thought of, whether bidding on sports or playing card games. Graffiti maybe–not super extreme, but certainly illegal and potentially dangerous. And I really wanted a third suggestion, so some googling revealed this thing people do called “guerrilla gardening”–basically, you sneak in somewhere and plant flowers or trees or whatever. Benevolent trespassing!
Hopefully one of these helps you, and thank you again for the ask!
