hello fellow webnovel enjoyer o/ ive been thinking of getting back into TL so i was wondering if you know any particularly interesting chinese wns that havent been picked up yet/were dropped? (no promises though lol)
alas I am only recently getting back into wns and I definitely don't know what's out there and untranslated... well there's a taiwanese gl comic anthology that hasn't been updated in 9 months but that's all I know of. Happy Hunting o7

:0 what are some other fic ideas that youve had?
OH LOADS............ please know that the ratio of my published works to unpublished is literally probably close to 1:100. im not even joking
three more i think wwww
time travel jamikali where kalim goes back in time nad his solution is just. not to go to nrc. ALSHKDGALKHGDLKASHG i dont think ill ever finish it bc as much as i like the concept of like. long distance friends jamikali i have other j/k id much rather write LOL i do really like parts of it tho maybe ill post the wips
ive been working on this timeloop leona fic for over a year at this point and i truly dont think im ever going to finish bc it just.......... doesnt have ap unchline. like i have no idea how to end it and where its gonna go its just leona in a timeloop looking for yjn but its a bit too "they are the Only Ones for each other!!!" for me. which is ironic bc i wrote it. but i really dont like the Only X Can Make You Happy kinda trope so idk how i will make it end thats both satisfying on a leona/yjn perspective but also doesnt push a version of that i odnt like ALKSHDGLKAHSDG
had a vaguely fairytale themed aksh au where the conceit was "there's a monster in the woods" and akch goe sto "vanquish it" and it turns out ren was the one taking the place????? of the monster?????? for akch?????????? but i didnt really know what was going on honestly. it was just fully vibes u kno. i do like the writing and rhythm i had for that one maybe one day ill go back (lying)

was looking through my dream logs and i saw one that was like. an island themed dating show i was on? presumably if you find love you get to leave the island, but if you didnt find love within the season your memory was ERASED and you were brought back on for the next season. and i discovered id been on the show for 3 consecutive years.
anyways reading it again i was like "wow this sounds like an otoge air would play"
i cannot believe you dreamt the plot of super danganronpa 2 island mode. which is to say: you were not wrong

Brownsnout spookfish!
Tumblr media
The eyes of this species of barreleye are essentially split into two, the tubular main eyes looking up to the surface and smaller outgrowths on the sides looking down into the depths. The downwards-looking eye halves are interesting in that they lack a lens completely, instead they reflect light into the side retinas via the use of "mirrors" made up of crystals! This makes the brownsnout spookfish one of the only vertebrates ever to use a reflective layer in the eye to focus on an image (the tapetum lucidum of other vertebrates is used to increase the amount of light entering the eye, not to create the image itself).
Here's an image in case what I'm trying to convey isn't quite clear:

BABE WAKE UP NEW SHARKS JUST DROPPED!!!
Tumblr media
A new species of Chimaera/Ghost shark was recently discovered in the deep waters of New Zealand. It's been dubbed the 'Narrow-Nosed Spookfish', and given the scientific name Harriotta avia in reference to the discoverer's grandmother. This new species was found just in time for spooky month to begin!
Tumblr media
There's also a new species of hammerhead shark called the Shovebill Shark, or Sphyrna Alleni. Originally, it was considered a subspecies of bonnethead shark. Upon further inspection, the Shovebill Shark actually has a different head shape, number of vertebrae, and DNA profile!

The narrownose chimaera (Harriotta raleighana) also know as the ghost shark or the spook fish is a longnose chimaera of the family Rhinochimaeridae which is native throughout temperate oceans worldwide and is typically found at depths of between 650ft (200m) and 10,200 (3,100m). Longnose chimaeras are members of the class Chondrichthyes, diverging from their closest relatives (sharks, rays, and skates) during the devonian period approximately 400 million years ago. Not much is known about there deep sea life style but they appear to feed upon crustaceans, worms, small fish, mollusks, and enchinoderms. They are themselves preyed upon by large sharks, boney fish, and large predatory squids & octopus.  Female narrownose chimera are typically larger reaching around 4.9ft (1.5m) compared to males which reach around 3.3 (1m) in length. Both sexes sport elongate rostra, slender filamentous tails, large pectoral and pelvic fins, big eyes, and two dorsal fins, the first being preceded by a mildly poisonous spine. They can range in color from pale marbeled brown to dusty grey to ghostly white or a mixture of those colors. Like many other Chondrichthyes, longnose chimaeras reproduce by laying eggs. Egg cases consist of a central chamber surrounded by a web-like structure. Female longnose chimaeras lay a pair of eggs several times per year.

hey! started watching bang brave bravern w a friend almost totally blind besides a few gags bc of your posts. this show is great :3
right? unhinged and entertaining. I kind of wish I went in more blind and with less spoilers, but also, I probably wouldn’t have been as interested without spoilers. it’s fun to jump in a couple of weeks before the endgame… can’t wait to watch it with my pal next week…!
