Synopsis: Discoveries of burned corpses of the Shogunate samurais baffled the Inazuma Bafuku. They've called you many names, but the most notable one is the nickname Hi no Shinigami. Known as the most feared member of the Sangonomiya Resistance group, your reputation precedes you when they witnessed your astonishing Fukuda swordmanship. But what they didn't know is, you are the runaway first child of the owner of the Fukuda Dojo itself.

Note: I know that I said I won't write for Gorou but what I meant by 'unreleased' is they haven't been featured in game, or have any content on them (excuse my bad English-ing :P)

Overlooking the vast land way beyond Musoujin Gorge, you sighed as you looked up at the cloudy skies. 'It's bound to rain soon,' you thought to yourself. It might be better for you to head back to the Resistance camp, but no, you decided to stay on the ledge you were sitting on.

This exact sight reminds you of your days back at the Fukuda Dojo, the one your family owned.

"Y/n-senpai! Wait up!"

A male and female disciple wearing matching cornflower blue robes, named Sora and Mizuki, chased you from behind. The skies are getting cloudy and it's bound to rain any second now. You three went to train in the areas of Byakko Plain, and decided to return to Konda Village before it rained.

As you looked back at them struggling to keep up with you, you silently chuckled before saying, "Then hurry up slowpokes! We don't want our next lesson to be cancelled just because one of their disciple got sick, do we?"

"But you--you're the one who ran off without telling us! And you're going to blame us if the lesson got cancelled?! Oh come on!" Sora shouted, clearly didn't approve of your light-hearted joke.

"Sora, calm down. It's just a joke," Mizuki spoke softly.

You later heard the sound of thunder rumbling in the distance, the expression of worry can be clearly seen on Sora and Mizuki's face.

"Senpai, we really should get going now. We don't want to worry your parents and younger siblings," Sora urged you.

"Alright alright, let's get going then."

The sound of thunder rumbling continued as you were power walking to the dojo located in Konda Village, with Sora and Mizuki huddled closely as they walked behind you. You can hear them flinching when a lightning strikes nearby.

"Uhh, I don't think we'll able to get back on time..." Sora mumbled.

"Sora, stop worrying about the little things. Just shut your mouth and we'll get there before we even know it."

Sora nodded then continued the walk to Konda Village. But when you're just a few meters away from the village entrance, it suddenly started to rain heavily.

"Eeeeekkk!" the both of them screeched.

It lasted for a few seconds before they both realized something, their clothes are completely dry, not a single drop of water can be seen on their robes whatsoever. Sora and Mizuki were confused at first until they looked at you, who were holding your sword up like an umbrella with a shield formed on the point of the blade. Even though the shield is made of Pyro power, it is hot enough to make the water droplet that falls on it evaporate.

"See, I told you to not worry about all the little things. I have a secret weapon right here, the shield will keep you warm and dry all the way to the dojo."

"Tch, you should've told us about this 'secret weapon' before! Otherwise I won't be panicking as much..." Sora nagged you once again.

"Sora, who knew that you were such a crybaby..." Mizuki chuckled.

"Crybaby?! I'm not a crybaby, you were scared too!"

You and Mizuki continued to laugh at Sora's obvious behavior as you walked together to the Fukuda Dojo.

The day you found out about the Vision Hunt Decree left you feeling confused and helpless. You were practicing in the dojo alone while your younger siblings played outside and your parents were attending an important meeting somewhere else. You were focused on improving your kyūdō skills when suddenly your younger siblings barged in holding a piece of paper.

"Onii/Onee-chan!" they called out.

"Hm? Kenji, Hanako, what's the matter?" You asked them.

Your little brother Kenji handed you a piece of paper and started to explain about it.

"So we were playing outside with Futaba and Takeru like usual when we saw a bunch of people gathered around the Bulletin Board. We decided to get closer to it to see what's going on, but one of the elders gave us this piece of paper and told us to immediatly give it to you."

You nodded at Kenji's explanation as you opened up the folded piece of paper. Once you started to read what's written on the paper, you fell on your knees and just stared at it in shock.

"So what does it say, onii/onee-chan?" Hanako innocently asked.

You tried to explain it to Hanako but all that came out of your mouth were stuttered words. Hanako stared at you confusingly but then stopped when your parents entered the room with a worried expression.

"Y/n, have you heard or seen the news?" Your father asked.

You slowly turned facing your parents as you shakily hold the piece of paper. You stared at them for a few seconds before asking, "What should I do?"

Your parents looked at each other before your mother walked over to you and kneeled down beside you.

"It says that whoever defies the decree and withhold their Visions will be 'severely' punished. But I don't know what would happen if I lose my Vision."

Your mother placed her hand on your shoulder, giving you a soft look as she pats your shoulder.

"Y/n, I think it's best for you to flee from Narukami Island. Take Shirasagi with you and try going to Watatsumi Island, even though it's only been a few days since the Vision Hunt Decree has been proclaimed, a resistance group was formed recently and led by the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island. Seek for their protection and be taken under their wing, the sooner you leave the better," your mother ordered.

You then looked over to the corner of the room, there perched your family's pet snowy owl, Shirasagi, staring at you with almost a sympathetic look. You extended your arm and Shirasagi immediatly flew over to you and perched on your arm. Kenji and Hanako walked over to you and started to pet Shirasagi.

"Aww, does Shiro-tan really have to go?" Hanako asked.

"Yes Hanako, Shiro-tan will protect onii/onee-chan from danger throughout their journey," your mother answered.

"In that case, Shiro-tan, you have to promise me to do your best to protect onii/onee-chan!" Kenji said.

Shirasagi hooted at Kenji as a way to tell him that he'll keep his promise. You swear that Shirasagi can act like a human sometimes, and you know exactly why.

Memories from the day you first met Shirasagi are still fresh in your mind. At that time, Shirasagi's family were hunted for their feathers to be made into exotic jewelry. Young owlet Shirasagi luckily managed to escape from his nest and is currently walking around aimlessly, can't say the same for the rest of their family. Shirasagi knew that the hunters might still be lurking around the area, one wrong move and it's the end for him.

Shirasagi was startled when footsteps can be heard near him, at one moment thought this could be his final moments. But something Shirasagi didn't expect was being approached by you, a kind human being unlike those hunters from earlier.

For the next several days, you walked your way to Watatsumi Island with Shirasagi perched on your shoulder, trying to avoid the Shogunate samurais at all times. When your mother said 'the sooner you leave the better', it's true because the next day the Shogunate samurais showed up at the Fukuda Dojo looking for you.

Your father made up an excuse for your absence, claiming that he had sent you on a final exam a few days earlier and was not aware about the Vision Hunt Decree. The Shogunate samurais were clearly suspicious at your father's reasoning, but they let it slide and came back empty handed.

For days on end, you were unable to sleep worried that the Shogunate samurais would found you during your vulnerable state, even when Shirasagi insisted that he would keep watch while you sleep. You eat whatever you find in the wild, whether it's Lavender Melon, Sunsettia, Apples or Berries.

When you reached the Kujou Encampment on Kannazuka, you had to pay more attention to your movements. Shogunate samurais were patrolling everywhere and once they spotted you, they can apprehend you in mere seconds.

"Shiro-tan, you can go first. Survey the area from above and try not to get caught," you said as Shirasagi took flight directly from your shoulder.

You slowly made your way around the island and managed to get to Tatarasuna unnoticed. Shirasagi landed back on your shoulder and hooted at you.

"Yeah, we managed to get pass the camp. Let's just hope we won't encounter more samurais on the way," you said.

Unfortunately, luck wasn't on your side that day. Some Shogunate samurais were patrolling the area near Nazuchi Beach and you didn't seem to notice them early on, due to your drowsiness from the lack of sleep. Their constant shouting snapped you out of your drowsy state.

"Hand over your Vision immediatly!" they shouted.

Since you've been caught and can't do much about it, all you can do is run away. After minutes of constantly running, you stopped for a moment to catch your breath. But suddenly you felt a searing pain in your right foot, and it turns out to be an arrow stuck in your foot.

"I-I've got them...! Quick, apprehend them while they're injured!"

You limped all the way to the sandy beaches of Nazuchi Beach, with trails of blood following your path. Shirasagi could only see you struggling to walk as he flew in front of you. He wished that he could've done to help you but he couldn't, he's just an owl that accompanies you on your journey.

"Shiro-tan, go on ahead without me! I'll catch up with you after I finished them off!"

Shirasagi hesitantly flew ahead of you as you turned around and summoned your sword. You could see four Shogunate samurais running after you, so you positioned yourself into the waki-gamae stance.

"Fukuda Arts: Flaming Tsurutori!"

Soon after, you summoned a flaming crane flying towards the Shogunate samurais. Three of the four samurais screamed in agony as they felt the flames in contact with their skin. The one remaining samurai glared at you with hatred and disgust after he witnessed his men fall one by one.

"Unbelievable, truly despicable..." he growled.

Your drowsiness came back and started to blur your vision, you didn't even noticed the samurai charging at you. Not until you heard something fall to the ground, creating a loud thump sound.

Then you saw the samurai lying dead on the ground and Shirasagi flying back to you.

"Ah, Shiro-tan! Wha--what happened? I...I thought he was--"

"Huh, I didn't expect a member of the Fukuda family becomes a fugitive of the Inazuma Bafuku," a voice suddenly spoke.

"Who--who are you?"

"Apologies, no need to be alarmed. I'm Gorou, general of the Sangonomiya Resistance group. I assume you're here to seek protection and join the resistance....."

Unfortunately for you, you didn't get to listen to his whole speech as your vision blurred and collapsed to the ground.

You closed your eyes as you felt raindrops falling on your face, reminiscing the good old days before this whole mess. You then realized that you can no longer feel the raindrops falling as something sheltered your figure.

"Y/n, what are you doing here out in the rain? You're going to get sick, come on let's get back to the camp."

Turns out it was Gorou holding your haori with the Fukuda family crest on it. He draped your haori over your shoulders as you stood up and walked with him back to the camp.

"General Gorou, Captain, you're back. Our message-runner has returned with some news, have a look."

Two Sangonomiya samurai welcomed your return when you entered one of the buildings on campsite grounds. Amato, the one samurai that spoke, handed a piece of paper to Gorou to let him examine the contents written on it.

The other Sangonomiya samurai, Yuzuki, walked over to you with worried look on her face.

"Captain, my goodness, you're completely soaked. What were you doing out there anyway?" she said.

"Sorry for making you worry, I just lost track of time. No need to worry about me, I'm fine."

You walked over to the table located in the center of the room and pulled out a chair for you to sit on.

Yuzuki sighed as she looked at you and said, "Then have something warm to eat. We don't want you to catch a cold now, do we? I'll go boil some water your bath also."

You sighed as you leaned back on your chair and closed your eyes for a while. You then glanced at Gorou who was concentrated on the paper he's reading.

"So what is written on the paper, Gorou?" you asked him.

"It's a bounty notice for a blond-haired traveler and their mysterious flying pet. But what did they do to get them arrested in the first place?" Gorou questioned.

"General, this traveler allegedly interrupted the Vision Hunt Ceremony over at Inazuma City. Their location is currently unknown," Amato explained.

Yuzuki then came back with tray of food and some tea, placing it down on the table in front of you. You then realized that the food Yuzuki served was from your home town and a favorite of yours, Konda Cuisine.

"Captain, please don't misunderstood my intention. I made this for you not to make you feel homesick, but I remembered that you told me you missed eating these kinds of food and it just so happened that you've already told me the recipe before. So I gave it a go and hoped it tastes exactly like how you remembered," Yuzuki explained.

A male Sangonomiya samurai named Yaguchi, suddenly entered the room you were in while holding a empty bowl.

"You've seriously got some balls serving the Captain of Swordfish I who is a local person from Konda Village, Yuzuki. Aside from that, hey it actually tasted really good. I'm having seconds," Yaguchi said before leaving the room.

"Ahem, watch your language Yaguchi!" Amato scolded.

Later, you can hear Yaguchi mocking Amato from the other room, "Blablablabla, you're not my mom Amato~!"

You and Yuzuki laughed together, Gorou sighed while Amato scowled in irritation. Yuzuki pulled out the chair beside you and sat down as she distributed the bowls of Konda Cuisine and tea.

"Will they also seek protection from the resistance just like captain back then?" Yuzuki asked.

"Hush, Yuzuki!" Amato shushed.

"No no, Amato it's fine. Well, it's their safest choice to come and join the resistance group. So yeah, they might be joining us later on. I'll send Shirasagi out in a few days just to confirm their position."

"Good, it just so happens that we're short of people in our forces. Even if it's just one person, their support can make a big difference," Gorou said with satisfaction.

The Traveler and Paimon are currently walking around Tatarasuna, gathering intelligence on the resistance's location. Then they overheard a conversation between two Shogunate samurais on patrol.

"I heard they added a couple more people to the wanted list. They're high-priority targets, apparently."

"But most of our forces are out on the front line. How are we supposed to effectively prioritize them? We'll just have to make sure we keep our eyes peeled when we're out on patrol."

"I wonder how they're faring on the front line. The last thing I heard was that we'd pushed the resistance back to just northwest of Musoujin Gorge. I don't know if that's true."

"I doubt it. Their rearguard isn't far from there. We're gaining ground at the moment, but I don't think we've pushed them back that far. Anyway, we should focus on patrol. Come on, we're up."

"Eh, fair point...time to go to work."

Paimon and the Traveler faced each other as she suggests, "The northwest of Musoujin Gorge...so that's where the resistance forces are based. We should keep asking around though, just to be safe."

The Traveler nodded as they continued their journey. Later on, they stumbled across two travelers named Sakamoto and Jiichirou.

"Oh, hey. You manage to escape too?" Sakamoto asked.

"Yeah. Where are you headed?" Jiichirou asked back.

"Higi Village. I've heard the rumors, but it's still gotta be a safer place than a warzone. What about you?"

"Ugh, don't get me started. I was recuperating on Nazuchi Beach — it's complete chaos over there. The resistance aren't having an easy time of it. They don't have the manpower for an all-out confrontation, so they can't contend with the Shogun's Army. The front line used to be further forward, but they had to retreat a couple of times. Now they're back to Nazuchi Beach. That's where I've just come from — I was lucky to get out. It's much too dangerous... their forces are so scattered that no one know who's who, and anyone you run into pulls their weapon... I just dropped my luggage and ran here. I think we need to keep moving — things are changing so fast. The further away we can get, the better."

"Agreed... Why don't we stick together? Can't hurt to team up with someone."

"Nazuchi Beach...sounds like that's where the resistance and the Shogun's Army are battling it out right now. Let's head over and take a look," Paimon said.

The Traveler and Paimon hurried to the front lines on Nazuchi Beach and upon arriving at the location, they spotted a resistance soldier that is under attack by the Shogunate soldiers.

"Hey, look! Do you think that's a resistance fighter? Looks like he's in a tight spot...let's go help him out!" Paimon urged.

After fighting off the two Shogunate soldiers surrounding the resistance soldier, the soldier stood up and thanked the Traveler.

"Phew...you saved me. I thought I was about to die. Thank you so much for your help. I'm Teppei of the Gobius Platoon. I'm with the resistance," he introduced himself.

"I was sent to the front line just recently – I was looking forward to doing my part...instead, it seems I fell at the first hurdle," Teppei explained.

"So, uh...you aren't dressed like resistance fighters – have you come here looking to sign up?"

The Traveler confirmed Teppei's thoughts with a simple 'yes'.

"Great! Just the other day I heard General Gorou complaining about how desperate we are for more people. Your support will make a big difference. I'll escort you back to our camp...but first, let me--"

Just before Teppei could finish his sentence, they heard the sound of an owl from a distance approaching.

"Huh, Shirasagi?! Did-did Captain Y/n sent you here?" Teppei said in surprise as Shirasagi perched on Teppei's arm.

Shirasagi hooted at Teppei as a response, which made Paimon dumbfounded.

"Oh wow, Paimon didn't know that resistance soldiers can understand bird language, or is it the other way around?"

Shirasagi then examined the two people besides Teppei with a sharp glare, to the point of startling Paimon.

"Uhhh...why are they staring at Paimon like that? Did Paimon said something wrong?"

"Ahahaha, no need to worry about that. Shirasagi normally acted like this when meeting new people. Come on, I'll explain about our current situation on the way to the campsite," Teppei said.

Entering the gates of the resistance camp, Shirasagi immediatly flew into the building behind where Gorou was standing. Paimon sighed in relief knowing that the intimidating bird is now gone, "Phew, that was eerie..."

The Traveler, Teppei and Paimon walked up to Gorou and explain about their situation.

"This is what happened, General Gorou. I was surrounded by Shogunate Samurai, and they came to my rescue. They can use the elements without a Vision! The resistance could really use people with that kind of skill. We should bring them in!" Teppei exclaimed.

"Hmm..." Gorou thinks as he clears his throat.

"I presume you've heard that the goal of the resistance is to defeat the Shogun's Army and repeal the Vision Hunt Decree. This is no easy task. Each who sets foot on the battlefield must be ready to sacrifice their life. Tell me, why do you wish to join us? The resistance cannot accept any who don't possess a warrior's will — you and I must be certain of your decision," Gorou explained.

The Traveler then brought up about the seizure of the 100th Vision.

"You're referring to the ceremony to mark the 100th Vision seized under the decree, right? Yes, we received some new of it here, despite it taking place over in Inazuma City. There was a disturbance, allegedly... Highly unusual, considering that the Raiden Shogun appeared in person... But why do you wish to discuss this all of a sudden? Unless you have some information to share?" Gorou questioned.

The Traveler confessed that they were the one who caused the disturbance.

"...What?" Gorou asked in surprise.

"Yup, we had a fight with the Raiden Shogun and everything. The, we grabbed the Vision bearer and whisked him off to safety. After that, they added us to the army's wanted list... That's why we came here," Paimon explained.

"Now that you mention it, we did just recover a bounty notice from a Shogunate Samurai defeated in battle. It read 'Reward for the capture of a blond-haired traveler and their mysterious flying pet.' Hmm... So, this refers to you two?" Gorou recalled.

"What?! Who are they calling a 'Mysterious flying pet'!?" Paimon shouted, clearly does not accept being called a 'mysterious flying pet'.

"My apologies, I understand your situation well enough for now. On behalf of the resistance, welcome to our ranks," Gorou welcomed the Traveler.

"Her Excellency is currently away from the camp. We don't know where she went, but she instructed us to take care of everything in her absence. I will ask Teppei here to should you around the camp first, and then dispatch you straight to the front line. If you are ready, of course," Gorou added.

"Yes sir. I used to be in the Logistics Division, so I'm the right person to show you around — I know the setup like the back of my hand. I'll make sure you get a warm resistance welcome!" Teppei exclaimed.

"Let's start with the field hospital. Some of my friends are recovering there. Last time I saw them, I promised that I'd introduce any new recruits. When they're finally back on the battlefield alongside us, we'll be brothers in arms!"

"Despite knowing the dangers of being at the front lines and your skill limitations, I must say that I admire your dedication and courage, Teppei."

A voice suddenly spoke preventing Teppei and the Traveler going to the field hospital, so they turned around to see you holding a woven basket filled with medical supplies.

"O-oh, Captain, I-I didn't expect you to be here at the moment. Uhh, don't you have an important task you have to do?" Teppei stuttered.

"For now, at least, Swordfish I hasn't received any orders to carry out any tasks. So I decided to just stay here, are you perhaps injured anywhere from your mission?"

"N-no, I completely fine. I was about to show them the field hospital and--"

"Oh right, I've completely forgotten about our new recruits. Apologies, I'm Fukuda Y/n, Captain of the special operations unit Swordfish I. I'll be looking forward to work with you."

The Traveler nodded as a way to say likewise, you then handed over the woven basket to Teppei.

"Take these supplies with you, it should be enough for your friends recovering at the hospital. If you need anything else, I'll be at the archery camp."

You walked away from the group and headed to your cabin to get your kyūdō equipment.

Teppei and the Traveler went to the field hospital to introduce them to his friends. After catching up and talking to his friends, Tokuda and Masashi, they talked about the resistance's recent struggles.

"Either way, to tell the truth, with all the losses we've sustained recently, I was starting to lose hope in our ability to hold out much longer. But seeing fresh recruits join our ranks and hearing Teppei's exploits... I'm itching to get myself better as soon as possible, so I can get back out on the front line," Tokuda sighed.

"Huh, that's a lukewarm epiphany if you ask me. While you're lying there itching to get better, I'm still out there training hard despite my injury...even though it burst open again yesterday..." Masashi said.

"It did? Well, do you need me to get you something to dress it with?" Teppei asked and added, "I heard about a remedy recently that uses wild bugs. All you need to do is grind Onikabuto into powder, and it makes a very effective dressing. They say it feels cool on the skin and acts fast to completely cure flesh wounds."

"Sure, I'll take one! Thanks!"

"Hmm, sounds a little strange to me...I would've thought Wolfhooks would do the trick, but it's your decision," Tokuda doubted.

"Well, how about we let our new recruit decide? I'll stay here and make some preparations..." Teppei suggested.

After the Traveler picked the ingredient they wanted to use, Teppei made the dressing and applied it to Tokuda's wounds. Not long after that, cheers and claps can be heard from the archery camp.

"Sounds like something exciting is happening down there, why don't you take our new recruit to check it out? I would like to join you but, you know, my wound is still recovering..." Tokuda said.

"Oh, could it be what I'm currently thinking? Are General Gorou and Captain Y/n having an archery competition? Ugh, I wish I could come with you, I'm just dying to get out of this place!" Masashi whined.

"Calm down and get some rest..." Tokuda sighed. "Thanks again, Teppei...and thanks to our new recruit here. The day I'm discharged, drinks are on me."

"Hehe, just glad we were able to help. Alright, I'm gonna take our new recruit to the training grounds. Rest up, you guys. Come on, let's move on," Teppei said.

When the Traveler and Teppei arrived at the training grounds, several Sangonomiya soldiers are watching on the sides with you and Gorou in the center.

"What's going on over here?" Teppei asked around.

"Oh, Teppei. You're here too, well I just got here myself. But from what I've heard, General Gorou and Captain Y/n are having a little competition by themselves. This is going to get interesting," a Sangonomiya samurai spoke.

You prepared yourself for training as you put on your yugake on your right hand and did small stretches before you grabbed your yumi bow. You moved to Gorou's side as Amato and Yaguchi decides on the rules of the competition.

"Maybe we should do who can shoot the most targets? That would make it thrilling," Yaguchi suggested.

"You do know that kyūdō and archery have entirely different intentions in doing them, archery is almost exclusively concerned with hitting the target while kyūdō is much more concerned with one's mindfulness and spirit while shooting. Have you done your research, Yaguchi?" You pointed out.

"Uhhh, yeah...I've done that. Totally, yeah, I did, mm-hm..." Yaguchi stuttered.

Amato and Gorou shook their head while you sighed and smiled smugly as you ruffled Yaguchi's hair.

"Hey! Captain, stop it! You're making my hair looking like a bird nest!"

"Mm-hm, that's exactly what I'm doing," you teased him.

"Alright, how about we focused on who can aim the targets accurately out of four rounds? That way it would make it fair for the both of them," Amato then suggested.

"Yeah, that's good enough..." Yaguchi agreed.

"Finally, you guys took ages to decide on something you can both agree on. We're wasting their time you know?" Yuzuki said as she brings in the targets.

"Well then, let's start the competition immediatly!"

But suddenly, the message-runner for the Sangonomiya Resistance group barged through the crowd.

"We've got trouble! The Shogun's Army is attacking!"

[Author's Note]: Actually, this might get a part 2 (or multiple parts idk) seeing how long it's getting. Phew, I'm beat :')

★Diluc was out for his darknight hero duties, wearing a different disguise this time that didn't involve his coat. he had left abruptly when he had heard commotion outside, so he had to check it out and before you knew it, he had already left with only a swift stay here and the unintentional slam of the front door

★It left you slightly sad. you had thought it would be a night where he wouldn't have to go to his not so secret-secret duties and it would just be the two of you (or well, just you) drinking fine wine (while he settles for his grape juice) and chatting; you even planned on telling him about this interesting book you had recently read

★So you had picked up the coat by the chair lest you getting more upset, slotting your arms into the sleeves and letting yourself be engulfed by the warmth of his clothing

★You were a fair amount shorter than him, so that would explain the fact that his coat comes down your ankles and the sleeves going past your fingertip. you inhaled, the sweet smell of citrus filling your nose, making you smile. it was as if he was right there.

★The night was extremely cold, and it was a good thing. usually you would be walking around the manor with a blanket when he wasn’t around, but with Diluc’s coat around you, you think it suits you better than the blanket

★Which is fitting, you think. with Diluc, you could simply hug him (to which he would try to suppress a chuckle but fail to), feeling the warmth through his pyro vision

★But now, the coat with his scent was enough. you quietly hope he doesn’t mind you wearing it.

★And when Diluc returns home with an apology ready at the tip of his tongue to see you passed out asleep curled up in his coat that swallows your form whole, he feels a smile bloom on his face

★And when you feel a light kiss on your forehead and another source of warmth afterwards, you know he didn’t mind.

"But WAIT! There's MOREEEE!!!!"

...is how I will describe my entire experience with questing and exploring in Enkanomiya.

WARNING: The rest of the post contains major Enkanomiya Spoilers from version 2.4 of Genshin Impact.

My Time in Enkanomiya:

Got sent on a mission to the depths to retrieve bloodbranch coral. Was told there will be a trial BUT WAIT! No one knows the details.

Met a guy named Enjou there. A bit dodgy considering he looks like a regular citizen from Inazuma yet made it past all the monsters alone BUT WAIT! He's helping us out and tells us about the golden bridle and stuff so...

Entered Dainichi Mikoshi, activated evernight. Met a sinshade called Aru. He explains the next step which is to collect 3 fragments to restore the reins of revival. The questline becomes clearer now (but wait??).

Collected the 3 fragments, expects to receive coral as reward BUT WAIT! The coral is with da vishaps!

Defeated the vishaps. BUT WAIT! Oh that's just Enjou. BUT WAIT! Who would've guessed he's not one of Kokomi's ppl and now he has transformed into a...pyro abyss lector!

Defeated "The thing calling itself Enjou", picked up coral and handed it over to Tsuyuko.

All done!

BUT WAIT! There's still unfinished quests!

Went around unlocking quests. Thinks wow, this Aberaku guy's backstory is pretty tragic. Those dudes at the prison as well, being left behind like that. Mihoyo goes BUT WAIT! Have you heard about the...Sunchildren? You know, those tombstones with names on them? Yea...those.

Did a bunch of puzzles, looked everywhere for the last 2 books of the collection quest but can't find them. Thought I have unlocked everything BUT WAIT! The achievement page ain't 100%! Where's the last 3 waypoints?

Gave up and googled for a guide. Turns out I missed a quest. Quest says BUT WAIT! And opens up 3 new islands. THREE.

Fine. Cleared the islands and collected all the books. Thinks ok, well, wish the books were actual readable books. I'm really curious why Enjou was so bent on looking for that one book. Returned books, waits for quest to end BUT WAIT! A portal opens up? It leads us to somewhere and we collect the actual readable mindboggling books.

Ok. That has to be it right???

BUT WAIT! Watch the 2.5 livestream. Trailer starts and it's... Enkanomiya part 2.

Gawdammit mihoyo.

Jokes aside, Enkanomiya is incredible with its map/environment design, music, storytelling and overall sombre vibes that is reminiscent of my other favorite game, Dark Souls.

It's obvious I had low expectations going into the story thinking there will only be one main quest and like 2 side quests but I'm surprised by the number of hidden details and secrets scattered all over the map.

And yes, after all of the but waits I finally got the achievement and completed most of the major quests. Can't say for sure that I've done everything there is to do there. But at least I can say...I'm ready for the 2.5 update.

Sinae Unicornis Act 1

I went into Ganyu’s story quest with a low bar set for it to jump over. As long as it was better than Albedo’s, I wouldn’t be disappointed. And hey, I wasn’t. Not because the bar was low, but because this story quest was very fun.

Warning: this post contains major spoilers for the entirety of Ganyu’s story quest! If you haven’t played through the quest yet I would recommend not reading this post because there are lots of spoilers and some of it will not make any sense.

the characters

The characters were possibly my favorite part of Ganyu’s story quest. I absolutely love seeing playable characters and named NPCs during other characters’ story quests and Ganyu’s was full of them.

Firstly, we need to talk about the character who was unequivocally the most important NPC in Ganyu’s story quest... the Hydro Fatui Skirmisher. He was perfect and I love him. He just wanted to pick fresh berries on his morning off and ended up getting attacked by some randos who thought he was doing wrong just because of his loyalty to the Tsaritsa. The game’s been giving the Fatui NPCs a lot more personality as time goes on— they now have idle animations, voicelines, and some of them even have names— and I love it. This perfect hydro man was just the icing on the “sympathetic villains” cake.

Another awesome character featured in Ganyu’s story quest was my favor— uhhh, my second fa—- no, uhh.. one of my favorite adepti, Cloud Retainer. I want to see more of her. She’s fantastic. I’m really confused about her relationship with Ganyu in the past, because it sounds like she looked after Ganyu when the latter was a kid, but Zhongli says that Ganyu’s the Adeptus who’s been working for Rex Lapis for the longest. Maybe Cloud Retained knew Ganyu from before she made the contrast with Rex? I dunno. Her stories about Baby Ganyu were so fecking cute and revealed a little bit about Ganyu’s adorable past.

Another Adepti we saw in Sinae Unicornis was, in the words of Paimon, “that cold- hearted loner”, Xiao. It was nice to see a little corner of Xiao’s caring side— while he’s pretty blunt about it, he does want Ganyu to be happy and acknowledge both her Adepti and her human sides. It’s also pretty adorable to see Xiao caught off guard for a second— he isn’t quite sure what to do for Ganyu’s second trial, so he gets flustered and makes something up. It’s gonna be a real test not rolling for him during his banner, because the more I see of him the more attached I get.

The next character I desparately have to talk about was the real MVP of Sinae Unicornis, Uncle Tian! I was absolutely delighted to get backstory for the slightly sus fisherman who looks after Childish Jiang. It was so fun to hear an old man call Ganyu “onee- sama” in the Japanese dub,,,, and the idea that Tian’s known Ganyu since he was young enough to call her “older sister” is really cute. And kind of upsetting. More on that later. Now, *stares pointedly at Jiangxue*, if only we could get some backstory on another mysterious fisherman...

the combat

Ganyu’s story quest had a really nice balance of combat and story for me. The two trial run trials were well- designed to showcase Ganyu’s abilities.

Cloud Retainer’s trial was a lot harder than Xiao’s for me because I kinda suck at aiming, especially when my eyes kept drifting to the ticking timer above Ganyu’s head. But even though at one point I didn’t notice the correct path forwards for a solid 30 seconds, I still managed to finish the trial in one try. It was kinda difficult, but not too hard.

Xiao’s trial was a neat demo of Ganyu’s cryo abilities. Even though I refuse to roll on any banners until Hu Tao’s, she fit right into my team of Diluc, Xingqiu, Kaeya, and Zhongli. Ganyu in a team comp seems to reeeeally want Pyro and Hydro units with her, plus maybe a cryo user for the cryo damage boost inside her circle. She’s like Amber but way better.

Side note: I haven’t looked for any sort of meta info on Ganyu yet, but during her trial run her ult energy regeneration was really weird. It took her a long time to get her first ult up, but right after I used it her next ult was up off cooldown, and the ult after that was ready before her circle had even ended. Idk what’s going on there but her ult seems to do something with energy regen.

Ganyu

Sinae Unicornus showed us a lot about Ganyu.

Not that I knew anything about her before it.

Ganyu is a polite, kind, and respectful person. She overworks herself to the point of falling asleep standing up and likes eating Qingxin flowers. But her story quest shows another side of Ganyu— a side that’s learned a lot from being alive for thousands of years. Ganyu is incredibly good at her job and has picked up a lot of tricks over the millennia. She observes what those around her do and learns from them. She has a severe, cold side to her that makes her all the more efficient in her work. Ganyu’s is the second Adepti story quest we’ve gotten so far, and oh by the archons she and Zhongli are such great strategic players.

Ganyu is also lonely. She’s in between two worlds, and can’t be fully a part of either. When she’s with mortals, she’s an Adepti, and when she’s with Adepti, she’s a mortal. There’s nobody in the world that Ganyu knows of who is truly both and neither like she is. The mortals around her admire her, the Adepti around her seem to see her as young/ lower in rank than they are. So of course she would take solace in befriending Aether, someone who’s also not quite a mortal or a god.

In a way, Ganyu’s story quest almost ties into Albedo’s. They’re both “inhuman” in a way that isolates them from others and turns them into lonely individuals. This loneliness and isolation brings them, consciously or unconsciously, closer to Aether. This one similarity also brings attention to the differences between Albedo and Ganyu— Albedo is neither human nor god, while Ganyu is both.

I don’t know if it was intentional or not, but I think putting Ganyu’s story quest right after Albedo’s was a very nice touch.

ending thoughts

Sinae Unicornis was a very decent story quest. It was no Carmen Dei, but I’d say it was on the level of Jean’s and Mona’s. And,, ,,, it made me value Albedo’s story quest a tiny bit more. I love Ganyu, I think she’s adorable, and she seems like a pretty good versatile unit. She’s risen through the ranks of my favorite Genshin characters and is probably in the top 10. Despite all of these complements I will unfortunately not be rolling for her.

The next story quests we get shoooould be Xiao’s and Hu Tao’s (ofc I wouldn’t complain if Qiqi, Keqing, Fischl, Bennett, Barbara, Noelle, Sucrose, Chongyun, Diona, Xinyan, and Ningguang also got story quests...). I’m extremely excited to see Edgy Boy again and to finally meet my favorite funeral parlor owner. I’m also hyped for the events we’ll get before 1.3– hypostatic symphony and multiplayer Liben should be coming up soon. and then.... 1.3!

Emma - 63194

So, it’s August 22nd, otherwise known as the best day of the month because we get to celebrate Emma's birthday! I feel like she doesn't get enough credit, especially as a shōnen protagonist, probably because she's just a normal kid compared to others with overwhelming powers/magic/quirks/etc, but I think that just makes her feats all the more interesting and amazing. So, here I am, ready to praise the hell out of everything she's done, what she's capable of, and who she is on her special day.

(spoilers for the entirety of The Promised Neverland, so if you haven't read/completed the manga yet, consider this your first warning, because I'm literally going from start to finish with this.)

This is gonna be one hell of a long post, so here we go.

- She's one of the smartest kids at Grace Field, alongside Norman and Ray, who all get full scores on the house's daily tests, which is by no means a simple task.

- This is thanks to her ability to learn things quickly, which she puts to the absolute best use throughout the entire story.

- She's undoubtedly the most athletic out of the full-score trio, as she can pull off a leap like this with no issue!

- I gotta give her voice actor credit here because her scream at the end of EP1 is simply fantastic.

- She noticed the windows in the house were screwed shut, which reinforced the idea that the kids were merely raised like cattle. (Ray was also aware of this, of course.)

- Suspects the use of tracking devices. (The anime had Norman voicing this realization, so whoever you want to give the credit for this is up to you.)

- Believe me when I say that her acting skills are top-notch.

- She's so good that she was able to control her emotions enough and even regulated her pulse to fool Isabella.

- This! Just all of this. Her crazy ideals, her never-give-up mentality, her ability to stay optimistic and strong despite everything they're up against.. just amazing.

- She always thinks of her family first. (she honestly rarely cries too, now that I think about it.)

- By using what she overheard from the demons at the gate and the “blood tests” Isabella once told her about, Emma was able to figure out where the tracking devices were located on her own. (Yeah, Ray knew of this too, but he kept that info to himself.)

- She then created a situation that allowed her to confirm this and that yes, Isabella is indeed always checking their trackers.

- It was Emma's idea to train the other children by playing tag. Not only did this help them during the escape, but afterwards as well.

- Takes advantage of every opportunity to learn. (also, the strength she has!)

- Amazing learning ability x2 (I'm aware the manga says 10 instead, but still! I bet she could memorize 100 too!)

- She believes in everyone and makes Norman realize that no one in their family is truly bad and that leaving anyone behind, even the “traitor,” could cost them their life.

- She called Ray out on his bluff about him actually being willing to help everyone escape.

- Then confronted Ray about the possibility of him experimenting on the tracking devices of their siblings, thus resulting in their early shipments, which is something Norman didn't even realize, if his surprised expression is anything to go by. (Emma scolds him and hides her anger well, though she only stays mad for like, a minute.)

- She, along with Gilda, notice Isabella disappear every night after 8pm, leading them to assume the house might contain a secret room. They eventually pinpoint where it's located. (Ray suspects such a room must have existed, but wasn't certain.)

- Introduces the boys to William Minerva's books and the morse code bookplates they held, which the trio all know how to decode and understand. (I know Phil pointed them out to her originally and manga Ray was also aware of them, surprise, but..) the hunch she had about the two special books being important guides for them turned out to be true later on after the escape.

- Accepts her mistakes and is quick to apologize when she's wrong.

- Thank you anime for giving us these wonderful lines.

- Has her leg broken and yet she doesn't shed one damn tear. (the horrific sound still haunts me.) Ah, might as well also mention this now, but her theme, 63194, is one of the best songs on the soundtrack.

- Once again caring about others more than herself, as she was ready to destroy her leg/foot even more if it allowed Norman a chance to escape.

- This absolutely amazing moment right here! Easily one of the best panels of her by far!

- Used what she heard from Krone and spent two months hiding her emotions and plans from Isabella. Learning ability & best actress x10.

- Isabella actually believes this. Seriously, someone give Emma an award. Best actress x50.

- Do y'all know how strong physically, mentally and emotionally this girl must be to cut off her own ear? I know she was in a rush to escape while Isabella was busy with the fire, like she literally had about ten seconds (anime) to remove her tracker, but damn! Not once does she ever cry over it either. May I remind you she's only 11!

- Stops Ray's suicide attempt by catching the match, thus burning her palms.

- It was her idea to let the other kids know of the escape, which helped in proceeding with the preparations behind Isabella's back.

- I love Ray x fire jokes as much as the next person, but we all know who the real pyro is. More props to her voice actor again for the scream that follows!

- Successfully carried out Norman's plan and escaped Grace Field with 14 other children.

(post-season one spoilers beyond this point)

- Keeps her cool in dangerous situations, which helps calm down the younger children. Also fairly knowledgeable of the books from Grace Field's library, such as “The Adventures of Ugo,” which came in handy in the demon forest.

- Remains positive and completely hopeful after learning the truth about the demon world they're living in from Sonju.

- It only took three days for her to become proficient enough in archery in order to hunt successfully. She apparently also knows how to use a harpoon (ch49) (but I don't think we ever see that, sadly). Learning ability x20.

- She also didn't panic when she was held at gunpoint. She stayed reasonably calm and forced her way free instead.

- Didn't even flinch when Yuugo's bullet grazed her cheek.

- Can she just get a round of applause, please?

- Emma is just so fearless. Gun to the head? Knife in her face? Doesn't matter. She'll threaten you right back.

- Kudos to her learning ability yet again x50.

- Her quick reflexes and accuracy are phenomenal.

- Of course, cue the talk-no-jutsu skills that every shonen protagonist is undoubtedly skilled with.

- Even Lewis knows at a first glance that our girl is good. Takes a lot to receive praise from this demon.

- Offers herself up as bait to lure the poachers away from the other children.

- Literally cares for anyone, as she helped countless kids she didn't even know during her first hunt at Goldy Pond by keeping them safe.

- Thanks again to her knowledge of the “The Adventures of Ugo” novel, she was able to locate the memory chip for the pen that contains information about Minerva's supporters, the paths to cross over to the human world, Goldy Pond, The Seven Walls and Project Lambda 7214.

- The damn skill she has in handling guns in the matter of two weeks is astonishing.. and she's still only 11.

- Informed the Goldy Pond kids on how to accurately aim for the demon’s center eye, which greatly helped them take out the poacher Nouma.

- She has the audacity to taunt Lewis right back and I love her for it. She also offered to stay behind in order stall Lewis on her own, despite knowing he's the most dangerous of the poachers.

- When the talk-no-jutsu towards the crazy demon fails, she summons a wide array of guns against him, because why the hell not, right?

- She once admitted that she was no good at reading an opponent's moves, but after watching many people in her life who are skilled in such a way (Norman, Ray, Isabella, Krone) and thanks to the knowledge she recently leanred about Goldy Pond, she manages to catch Lewis off guard and electrocute him. Her level of adaptability is wonderful. Learning ability x100.

- Can we all just take a moment to obsess over Emma's Goldy Pond outfit because it is fucking fantastic! She just looks so damn good! (I owe Demizu my life for this.)

- Actually manages to get Yuugo to call her by her real name after he was so adamant to no learn them or get attached to the kids.

- This bright smile adds five years onto my life.

- She’s the first to notice the disadvantage demons have with regeneration, which ultimately leads to their winning strategy against Lewis.

- She somehow survives this. (plot-armor, I know, but goddamn!)

- Now presenting, the exact moment I fell in love with Emma, because holy fucking shit! Not only does she survive getting stabbed like that, but she gets back up and continues fighting! Can I get a big ol' HELL YEAH!!

- She busts out the pistol with the trick shots she's kept hidden this entire time until the very right moment, effectively taking Lewis by surprise and granting Yuugo a clear shot to his middle eye as the demon stands defenseless against the shower of bullets.

- Emma's influence over everyone else is so powerful. We see it many times throughout the story, but because of her, they all accept that the impossible is possible, everyone is worth saving, and to never give up. This is especially amazing to witness in scenarios with Ray, since Krone once said that his weakness was that he's "a little quick to give up. He makes a decision fast but abandons other just as quickly."

- Because of everyone's assistance, they were able to destroy Gold Pond and rescue over 60+ kids, which probably wouldn't have happened if it weren't for Emma presence at the hunting ground in the first place.

- Not to discredit Ray, because I'm sure he did a fine job of cauterizing Emma's wounds, but she did survive a day and a half with a low blood count. (She was unconscious, sure, but her body didn't give up either.)

- Finally wakes up from her coma a month later and the first thing she's concerned with is the safety of everyone else.

- I swear, this girl has a heart of gold, but we knew that already.

- Doesn't let her missing ear hinder her at all, just adjusts how it would function normally in her daily life.

- Memorized the many maps found in the shelter's reference room alongside her siblings. Learning ability x125.

- She's capable of taking out three wild demons in the matter of seconds. Accuracy and speed on point still on point.

(Ah post-timeskip, just a little over halfway done now.) - Will not hesitate to jump in and save someone, regardless of the danger to herself.

- No 13 year-old should have this amount of pressure on their shoulders, but I'll be damned, she handles this and so much more well.

- She pushes aside her own anxieties over losing the shelter, those two boys and possibly Yuugo and Lucas and decides to lift the spirits of everyone else instead.

- Y'all see this demon? Do you think she cares? Not one bit! All that matters is her family's safety and she'll do anything to preserve that. We stan one reckless girl.

- Doesn't cry over the deaths of Yuugo and Lucas (at least, I don't think she does? She appears more frustrated here than upset.)

- She can pick up on how others are feeling, even if they're trying to hide it. (also does so several times to Norman (ch30, 128,153) and even to Yuugo (ch64))

- Is the first to volunteer to sneak into the mass production farm guarded by demons in order to retrieve the medicine Chris needs.

- Honey, how are you not screaming for you life right now?

- Official translation has Hayato saying “The Boss is saying he wants to meet you,” but I feel like this unofficial one here conveys the exchange between Emma and Oliver better. Their large family has children who are older and more experienced as a leader than Emma, but they all choose to follow her.

- Just a casual reminder of how strong our girl is. (She even beats out Ray and Don in terms of strength too.)

- I probably only find this impressive because I love my sleep, but she wakes up at 6 in the morning. Always. Without fail. For thirteen years. Then panics the one time she actually oversleeps.

- She knows every life is precious, no matter who or what they are. Also doesn’t want to follow Norman's civil war plan, which is good, because damn that's a bit extreme. Doing so would only create more fear and hatred.

- Say it louder.

- LOUDER!

- Agrees to go and find out more about The Seven Walls in hopes to stop Norman's plan, despite the many risks. Can she really arrive at TSW? What's actually there? Could she even make a new promise? Will she be able to return afterwards? There's a bunch of unknowns, but that won't stop her. (“Simple?” “It is simple.” That line kills me every time.)

- TSW proved to be very mentally exhausting but she and Ray did survive all the craziness they faced while trapped there.

- Due to her unique way of thinking, she managed to remain sane and was able to figure out how TSW worked, which is something even Ray couldn't quite comprehend.

- Because of that, she was then able to finally meet the bastard demon god.

- Thus allowing her to..successfully.. make a new promise. (Ahhh)

- Best actress x500 (damn damn damn!)

- Honestly, have they practiced this before or is her athleticism just that superior? Either way, she never fails to surprise me.

- Isn't afraid to speak the truth and put one of her best friends in their place.

- But manages to (somehow) forgive him, after his plan successfully killed the queen, the demon royals and poisoned the capital city, which forced the nearby demons to degenerate.

- Her optimism knows no bounds.

- She & everyone else were able to infiltrate Grace Field which is not only guarded by demons but the Ratri clan as well.

- Just how? I know your athletic but wow!

- The woman who shipped out so many of Emma's siblings and broke her leg now holds a gun to her face and yet our girl doesn't look panicked in the slightest. Girl, how are you so brave?! Holy shit. There's no fear in those eyes, only anger.

- AND she ends up forgiving her! After learning Isabella betrayed Peter and realizing that all the mothers and sisters are also fighting for their freedom, Emma gladly accepts Isabella's assistance. (Best mother daughter moment I've ever seen.)

- The entire talk-no-jutsu she pulls on Peter in ch172. She's angry, even downright hates the Ratri, but she refuses to get revenge for all the trouble they've caused to her family and friends by killing Peter. She admits the clan's actions can never be forgiven, but she still shows sympathy because she knows they were also suffering due to the world and roles they were born into.

- We find out that Emma worded the promise perfectly which allows every human raised as food to cross over into the human world. Truly thinking of everyone as per usual.

- She kept her promise to Phil and came back for him and the rest of the children she had originally left behind at Grace Field.

- Again, showing no hesitation to save someone she barely knows, even when unarmed.

- Pretty sure I was in literal tears at this point of the chapter, so kudos to her for making me bawl my eyes out. Aahh, she's just so forgiving and her heart is so big.

- Best actress x9999 (*screaming internally*)

- SHE LITERALLY SACRIFICES HER OWN HAPPINESS SO EVERYONE IMPORTANT TO HER CAN LIVE IN PEACE AND BE HAPPY!!

- She loves her family so deeply that even without her memories, her heart still remembers them. (it makes me cry too, hun, it's okay.)

- She has a heart literally made of solid gold. Of course she can't refuse the bastard's reward, but still accepts it with a smile on her face knowing that all humans and demons, of the present and future, can now live freely without any fear. She completely ended the tragedy that persisted the last 1,000+ years and changed the world like she set out to do back in ch4. Sweetheart please, you're anything but selfish.

- She has the most precious family on the planet. Her influence was so strong that they searched endlessly for two years just to see her again, by never giving up or doubting her words back in ch178. They're beyond happy when they do finally find her and are a bunch of sweethearts who accept her no matter what.

“Just give us the test tube back.” A voice sounded, one that was familiar to both Sam and Bucky’s ears, actually should be familiar to most of the older Avengers. The woman who split the crowd was blonde and wore a smile they knew just as well, “Oh, come on boys, you didn’t really think the Power Broker was a man, now did you?” She sounded smug, “The moment I saw Torres in the crowd in Cameroon I knew exactly who had stolen my little Stevie baby, I didn’t expect you to be working with mutants though.”

“You know her?” Memphis hissed, as she looked at Bucky.

Bucky however glared ahead, “I told you she got mean, Sam.”

“Wonderful, he knows her.” Gambit bent around Bucky to look at his daughter, “Does that mean you two are going to have problems if you kill her?” Memphis shrugged.

Just realized this was in my inbox for a while-sorry about that and thanks for the chance to splurge. I don’t have a finalized design and all that or really anything outside of a bunch of bullet point snippets but hope you don’t mind ^w^

Any warnings and stuff: it under the cut, may contain genshin impact spoilers, definitely breaks canon a lot

⦾ Real name is undecided but I’m leaning towards a name like Electra for her code name/alias

⦾ One of the Fatui Harbingers with an electro vision and a fire delusion (which, in game, is a separate power from visions given to the fatui harbingers by the cyro archon aka Tsaritsa).

⦾ She kinda has a 3rd form outside of her normal self and her delusion self, however Electra’s is just being able to use both her electro vision and fire delusion at once rather than being a different form/transformation like C/hilde’s foul legacy.

⦾ She can manually activate this by causing an “overload” reaction (aka hitting fire with an electric attack or vice versa). However, doing so exhausts her and leaves her with painful burn marks that can only be healed with a hydro vision/delusion.

⦾ Grew up in Inazuma before leaving to join the Fatui & most of her group’s missions take place in the nation due to her being so familiar with it.

⦾ Electra also has two Fatui Agents who stay by her side as bodyguards. Outside of their normal attacks, they both have pyro visions which comes in handy when Electra wants to activate her delusion

⦾ Her Elemental Burst/Ultimate involves her activating her delusion and releasing an AOE attack/burst with both pyro and electro elements activated (basically triggering a giant overload reaction)

Erase The Future

One of the things I work hard to improve is writing characters established from many different series or genre. Mainly, I focus on characters who are quite difficult to write for new writers due to lack of information about them or the type of personality they have.

This little fic of mine involves one such character, Urizen from Devil May Cry. Warning: Contains minor spoilers!

Summary: Demon King Urizen has crushed every challenger to his hellish throne with pure unmatched power. To him, nothing could stop him from claiming his power and title as the Ruler of All Hell. Until a rift of time and space drops him a little gift... And turns world into a crash course dummy.

Two brothers with hair of snow and eyes of ice. Both separated by tragedy and doomed to face it once more. Cursed to spill their own blood continuous to the floor. When the tree of blood grows is when it begins. The tree's downfall is where their lives would end. Their fate can be challenged to change if intervened. An outside source to show both what they were too blind to see.

This single savior was born of misfortune and death at their first breath. Abandoned for being born inable to see and cast out in the worst of nature's disasters...A dangerous blizzard in the coldest tundra. Through kindness of another let the soul grow strong. A titan of champions is what they become. Though failure to this task was prominent promising a fate far worse than death.

Yet… To the heir of a frozen kingdom, Dyna Crown Fleur, the results were worth a cursed fate. For kindness and mercy, was long overdue for both tragic souls.

Qlipthoth, a demon tree that grows in the Underworld. It feeds on the blood of human life to blossom a single fruit that when eaten, crowns a demon the Ruler of Hell with boundless power. This tree currently rose at the center of Red Grave City and grown vastly from the millions of lives it slaughtered. Deep within the tree and sat on a makeshift throne, was a colossal devil covered in brambles and thorns named Urizen.

Power, absolute power is what this very behemoth sought. Yet, he was about to learn power came in many forms and so did Karma. The vast grove and network of blood filled vines began to shake within the Qlipthoth's center. Amongst the blood pool, the devil covered in deathly gray plant life light flashed immensely confused amongst the multiple hollows on his body. "What is this? This...power I am sensing." A gravelly voice from the devil as he lifted his hand up.

To him, this strange energy was...pure. Unlike the taint familiar with demonic power of all kinds, what he was sensing felt...calming. Not that of angels but of harmony, silence and peace. It was enticing to his senses that the devil couldn't help the urge to tear off the thorns covering his true form just to feel on his own hide. He needed to see what it was.

With a wave of his hand, the pool of blood at his feet began to change forming a mirror reflection of a different part of the Qlipthoth. Bright blue shined when a single line appeared above one of the roots before forming a large emerald tear. A rift in time and space was what the massive devil realized. Yet, what stepped out of it before it closed had him bewildered. It was a human woman.

She stood around 6'2 with forest green hair, skin a soft light peach and eyes a pure clear and crystal aquamarine. The woman wore a thick dark velvet winter dress decorated with elegant gold vine like embroidery and the emblem of a crown wearing animal, a golden wreath around her neck with a small rainbow jewel held at the center and the biggest oddity was the lack of footwear.

While Urizen didn't care for those lower than him, he could see the vast beauty of the human female. What really grew his interest was her walking. With every graceful step she took, plant life from grass to even flowers grew on the Qlipthoth floor. He could feel the blood from those sections fading as if the plants were absorbing and purifying it. They were becoming normal human plant life by the pure energy that was coming from her.

"Very interesting. What are you to purify even the Qlipthoth with mere touch and bewildered me so? Bring her to me." Urizen spoke as vast insect like chittering echoed through the blood tree. The woman only known to herself in this world as Dyna traversed the vast expanse of the blood channeling growths around her. Despite the gruesome and hellish landscape around, she was not afraid.

"A tree...no a grove that feeds on the life essence of others. I can feel the very souls trapped in these brambles cry out in pain. Wallow in sorrow no more with every step I take. Let your souls finally slumber as new life blossoms forth." Her voice soft and sweet like pure honey as more of her vibrant plant life covered the Qlipthoth floor with each step she took.

Her blue eyes caught the vast amount of moving gray around her. Inhuman beasts that held the form of an ant crossed with both spider and human easily in her sight no matter how fast they scurrying or well they hide. Beady red eyes, thorax covered in blood red jewels, jagged pincer like maws and thin scythe like claws. "I know you are there. My eyes are much sharper than others. It'll be better if you show yourself." Dyna spoke stopping as the large insect creature landed in front of from above.

It was a bit larger than her in height and grotesque but she still remain unbothered by her unnatural guest. "You are a worker just like a colony of Combee. Your species must provide substance to this tree. Honestly, it's a poor job considering the many remnants of the souls trapped in your home's woodwork and state of your hierarchy. Judging from you not attacking me, you're here to lead me to whoever rules over this current colony." Dyna questioned as the insect nodded its head.

"Lead the way then please." She said as the creature or Red Empusa guided her to Urizen's throne. The very devil himself was watching her as the insect demon lead her through the tree. He was impressed by what he had seen so far. She easily deduced the Empusa's nature and reason, the Qlipthoth's basic way of growth and remained undeterred by the hell around her. He cleared the image as Dyna walked into the room.

The Empusa immediately scurried off afterwards not wanting to stay anywhere near the tree demon's range. The woman looked up at him as Urizen could see her form far better than from his blood mirror. Those eyes of hers were beautiful up close. Pure uncut aquamarine that even diamonds couldn't hold a candle to the clear hue. Faint accents of gold by the corner of her eyes merely enhanced the elegance. He'll get a better look after seizing her for himself.

"You must be the one who planted the seed for this massive vampiric tree. Quite cheeky to have it bloom in the middle of a human settlement. Urizen, or should I say the Devil of Vergil Sparda?" Dyna questioned as those words had Urizen get onto his feet. The tendrils of his body snapping a bit from the Qlipthoth as blood spilled to the floor while the devil stood at his full height glaring down at her.

"I never gave you my name or my origin. Who are you human?" Urizen hissed in annoyance as if the name burned. Ignoring his hissing, Dyna took out a strange ball from her dress sleeve. It was half red and half white with a button outlined by black stripe. She tossed the sphere in her hand repeatedly as if she was juggling it. She didn't even look away from him still performing the act. "My name is Dyna Crown Fleur. For why I am here… I here to stop this devastating tree from growing any further. Tragedy must come to an end and if it means defeating you…"

Dyna grabbed the sphere out of the air before facing it as Urizen with a glare on her face. "Then I won't hold back." She declared voice firm and strong. The devil chuckled before sitting on his throne easily amused. He produced a blood red crystal in hand before reconnecting his tendrils to the devilish tree. "Very amusing. Dyna Crown Fleur, show me just how you will defeat me." Urizen mocked. The little sphere in her hand was a mere toy to him.

"Your aura is nothing but a phantom cloaked by putrid life of the thorns protecting your body. That blood red crystal merely an extension of dauntless darkness. To throw life and mind at you now will get me nowhere so instead. I'll have my confidant shatter your barrier first!" Her cryptic words had him baffled but...he realized that little ball was NOT a mere plaything.

"Pyros, prepare for battle!" She tossed the ball into the air as a flash of light shot forth. From the light materialized a creature Urizen never seen before. This creature was a bipedal white tiger covered in crimson striped fur, its chest was gray with a white cross like pattern, large tufts of crimson fur around the muzzle, shoulders, legs, a tail with a ring of spikes around it, yellow and verdant green eyes, large fangs and claws and a belt of pure flames around their waist.

"Incineroar!!!!" The beast howled unleashing a pure shockwave of power from its pure battlecry alone. To Dyna, this creature was her Incineroar Pyros, a Pokemon she grew up with from her homeland to survive. "What kind of creature is this you summoned to dare challenge me!?" Urizen growled clearly thrown off by Pyros' special ability: Intimidate. Intimidate weakened the attack power of every opponent Pyros faced so the fact Urizen felt threatened had proven the ability had work.

"Incineroar, the Heel Pokemon. His species will refuse the orders of those they don't trust with pure nonchalance. However once presented a decent challenge, they are relentless. Pyros, give him a mere taste of your nature with Fire Blast."Dyna ordered. The Heel Pokemon opened his mouth full of flames before hurling a massive star like cross of it at the demon king. A blood red barrier immediately materialized around Urizen but even the demon had to shield himself from the intense flames as it crashed into the shield.

Blueish green lights brighten greatly noticing the large spider web cracking across the surface of the stone and his barrier. "Darkest Lariat." Pyros burst from the flames like a spinning bullet to Urizen's view and hit the barrier with a powerful lariat. The barrier immediately shattered from the brute force of Pyros' attack. Even the crystal supplying the barrier exploded from the immense power the Incineroar unleashed!

'What kind of power is this?!' The devil couldn't help but think. This Incineroar, manifested enough power to overload his barrier but another strike to destroy his magic crystal at the same time. His half breed brother couldn't even crack it unlike this burning beast! Then came insult to injury.

"Fury Swipes." Pyros' claws glowed white as the talons grew into long blades. The Incineroar didn't hesitate to repeatedly tear his claws through Urizen's armored hide and scratching up the devil's exposed mouth like an angry cat. The tree demon roared in pain swatting at Pyros but the Fire/Dark type easily dodged returning back into battle position in front of Dyna with a wild grin on his face. The demon king immediately sat up not caring about snapping off his thorn like tentacles from the tree itself again.

The cat scratches over his face and tears through his hide revealing multiple glaring orange eyes upon her form. He was absolutely furious. This human woman was mocking him in his own throne room. His fury ignited upon the mischievous grin that grew on Dyna's face. It exploded when the woman had the audacity to SING an insult to him.

"I am the tallest of mountains. I am the roughest of waves. I'm the toughest of terrors. I am the darkest of days. I'm the last one that's standing. Don't try to stand in my way. Cause I've been up against better. Just take a look at my face. Causing if you're messing with me, I am a dangerous weapon. I am the sharpest of blades. I'll cut down in a second." Her sweet voice destroying his precious silence with pure sass.

"I see the part that you tried to hide. That you are merely a scared babe behind a monster of a lie. The fact that you aren't as strong as you think on the inside. To remove half of yourself was your folly. Absolute power you say? No, that's the humiliation that made me merry and jolly!" Dyna taunted as Urizen howled in absolute rage.

Multiple tendrils sprout from the Qlipthoth around her slithering like angry snakes around the livid demon. "You've managed to infuriate me more than that damn treacherous spawn I dare call brother. A queen must know to never disrespect their king! I'll tear your summon in half before I claim my first generation with your bloodline, my dear Hell Bride and soon to be Queen of Hell." Urizen declared. He flinched when both trainer and Pokemon merely chuckled.

"Hold back Pyros. I'll take it from here." Dyna spoke as the Incineroar stepped back and she took a step forward with eyes closed. He flinched once more as the woman opened her eyes. "Cause I was born in this pain. It only hurts if you let it." They were a pure glowing cyan as if burning with pure power yet...he thought he saw sadness for a moment.

"So if you think you can take me then you should go and forget it." He lashed out a few of the roots towards her at lightning speed with a snap of his fingers. Cyan light enveloped the attack tendrils before she waved her hand away. Those glowing roots we're slammed into the Qlipthoth wall hard enough for each to snap in half. "After all this time your back for more. I won't stop until THEY know my name. So I'll take what's mine and start this war. I'm coming at you like a tidal wave."

He didn't hesitate sending more roots at her. Yet she continued to cut them down with no effort. She was doing the same thing he did to his half breed brother and every single insect that dared to challenge him. She made him feel helpless.

"When everything you know has come and gone. You are at your lowest and I am rising higher. Only scars remain of who I was. What I find in the ashes, you lose in the fire. When there's no one left to carry on. This is a illusion, open up your eyes and… The pain persists I can't resist. But that's what it takes to be infinite."

That same cyan light snaring him and every Qlipthoth root he was controlling at the moment. "Psychic!" They were immediately slammed into the walls of the throne room with enough brutal force that his tendrils exploded into blood upon impact and Urizen shattered his throne underneath his own body.

The Devil picked himself up and glared heavily with glints of fear now exposed. More of his armored hide had shattered now revealing half of his beastish azure face with multiple piercing eyes, monstrous fangs and short crown of jagged horns. Green eyes going from fear to pure surprise at the soft smile she now held. A smile that held no malice.

"Now I can see some of your beautiful face from that ugly mask you wear. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. That beauty for me is the person under the shell of armor they use to hide their own weakness. Their true self in many terms." Dyna spoke softly for it was enough for the Devil to blink.

She had immediately disappeared once he did only to reappear right in his face hovering softly in the air. That same cyan light bathing her body as she floated daintly before him. 'Is she part fae? No...not even faes hold such elegance, grace and so much raw power. No, it must be a goddess that stands before me.' Urizen thought as he unconsciously reach his hand out to her.

"So look around you and tell me what you really SEE. You live a lie and that's the difference between you and me. I have the power. Let me show you what it's it all about. It's only me and you- Who is gonna save you now?"

Dyna laid a hand on his crown of horns and everything around him just...stopped. Then came flashes of memories... and the unknown pain to follow. Her eyes reflected those scenes from the human half, half breed brother, weak women that fueled his weapons and the human whelp whose limb was missing but also those he wasn't familiar with. Then these odd sensations slammed into him from every single one. These odd things hurt him somehow with every death or wound that he caused but none scathe his body.

It stopped when a gentle touch pressed his forehead and eyes widened upon the sight. Dyna Fleur Crown had laid a kiss on him. His mind went blank. This woman made no sense. She threatened him, had her beast shatter his barrier and scar him, she brought him down to his knees, searched his memories and forced new ones with this strange pain for each one. Now, she had the audacity to kiss him.

He blinked in response only to see her on the back of her fiery beast Pyros. A soft smile on her face and the same for the Incineroar. "V, Dante, Nero, Trish and Lady. Your human half and the ones you have harmed the most. Urizen, Devil of Vergil Sparda, I will give you a single warning. If you feast on the fruit of this hellish tree, then it will be me you shall face instead of your brother. And unlike him, it won't be a fight. It will be your true downfall. Reflect on the past once more." Was all she said before Pyros burst out of the throne room.

The Incineroar soaring across the tendrils with fire exploding from every pounce and step. She was gone just like that as Urizen could only stand in silence. The woman didn't make a worthless threat. She held the power to back up her declaration not just her beast alone. "Dyna Crown Fleur... could have ended me with a flick of her wrist. Forced these strange irritating sensations onto me even now… Yet spares my life…" Urizen spoke using his tendrils to repair his broken throne in seconds.

Multiple exposed eyes staring at the scars covering his form's broken armor from his throne's blood pool. "Summoner from another plane… Wielding of a beast of intense flame… Eyes that mirror my past… Power far more pure than an archangel… And beauty matched with cryptic knowledge…" He sat on his repaired throne how in thought. "Who are you… Dyna Crown Fleur?"

And that's it! Yes, I crossed this little story with Pokemon to show just how different Dyna and Urizen are. Urizen who only relies on his own power and himself versus Dyna who not only is powerful on her own but works with her Pokemon to overcome any challenge.

For Urizen, the goal of this fic is for him to realize the same that happened to dear old Sparda. To find his own reason to fight for the sake of others, his own justice.

Dyna's origins is related to a Pokemon that will relate and revolve around the Part 2 DLC for Sword and Shield, Calyrex the Crown Pokemon.

Dyna- A term or prefix often use to mean power. Ex: Dynamo, Dynamic, Dynamite

Fleur which is French for Flower.

Dyna Crown Fleur, the Crowned Flower of Strength.

“Tomorrow Will Be Better Than The Last...” [Prequel of All-Stars -Story Mode-]

[WARNING: This will contained spoilers about my Pyro’s gender, you are warned]

[FINISHED]

Engineer had been up late on his work on his building, he yawned but he wanted to finished the new sentry for tomorrow’s next King of The Hill, one of the War Games that is known in Gravel War in all of the Badlands.

“Aw hell...” He muttered as he took the googles off but half-way stopping to his forehead to rub his temples. “Engie?” A soft shy female voice perked up that made Dell turned around to see who it was.

“Yeah?”

“You’ve been up late, don’t you think it’s time to sleep?” The voice softly questioned, Engineer only turned his head back to the building with a groan. “Ah’d can’t, Ah can’t let the BLU Spy...” but he couldn’t seem to finished his sentence as he lowered his head onto the desk as the figure walked over to her dear teammate with a pillow and blanket in her hands.

Like on autopilot, she took the hardhat and goggles off of him and placed them aside him before lifting his head up just a little bit to place the pillow under him and let’s it land on it with a flop.

Then she placed the blanket onto his back and shoulders before kissing him good night. “Py...”

“Just sleep Engie, tomorrow will be better than the last.”

“Alright... ‘Night, Pyro...” he snored, Pyro smiled through her deep red brunt mark done to her face before replying “Goodnight Engie.” before leaving the room.

Morning came on the canyons of the Badlands, on one canyon of Offblast as a rooster caws at the morning light, signaling that it’s time to get up and get ready.

Everyone does so, getting dress, cleaning their knives off of the blood and reloading and gathering the ammo for them. All but Demoman who had slept through the morning call like a rock after drinking himself with Scrumpy in his room last night. It was somewhat peaceful until-

*DING!!DING!!DING!!DING!!DING!!*

Soldier walks on top of the RED base with riding crop in hand, he stood there as he declared “Attention soldiers! Get in positions, you’ll be late for war!”

Eight mercenaries scrambled all over each other as the alarm kept ringing as red lights flashing all the while Soldier is barking out “Left, right! Right! Left! Right! Left! On your right and on Demoman’s left!” before turning his attention towards the Scout and said “Get over to your position, son.” before hitting him on the rear end with the crop, making Scout squeal in pain.

“Discipline! Order!” Soldier said while Pyro, who is now dressed with a gas mask and fire-proof asbestos-lined suit, gently pushed Spy out of the way and then lets Engineer get in line as the Spy scoffs and Soldier saying “Sun Tzu wouldn’t want his men to be lazy or careless in the heat of the battle! When the horn blows out its call of duty and you must be ready to charge in to attack!”

“Soldier, please” Medic said first, “Zhey just wanted to make sure zhat ve’re ready for zhe today’s mission.” as Soldier looked at him with a glare, “How dare you German,” he rebuked, “Talking back to your superior leader of the team!”

“The mission begins in 30 seconds.”

Engineer looked up when the Administrator said that as others did the same, looking over to Soldier and ushered “Soldier, it’s gonna begin soon, get in line.” over to Soldier who heard him and said “Alright.” as he mushed himself between Heavy and Scout in line as Scout was shoved out of the way,

“The mission begins in 10 seconds.”

“Now be strong in battle and laugh at the face of danger, Private.” Soldier whispered to the Heavy who is holding his minigun, leaning over to Medic and said “We go together, Doktor.” as Medic looked over him before nodding.

“5... 4... 3... 2... 1...”

Then the alarm called out it’s siren as metal chain-link doorway opened up, Soldier yelled out “Give ‘em hell, boys!” and ran out of the door first as others ran out with him.

BLU Team are look-a-likes as the RED Team but wearing blue-colored uniforms that are the same as their’s as they too prepared to fight.

It started out as usual, the air is filling with the sounds of gunfire, rockets, explosions and screams of pain and agony. It’s nothing special, really but they didn’t seemed to realized that all of that, the war games or to each other. It’s all about to change and this time it’s isn’t Merasmus the Magician or robots.

It’s different, so different this time.

A Glitched Disembodied Lady’s Voice softly cackled so poisonous “They're perfect for my little game of life...”

“Perfect for my BIG game of a Battle Royale...!” before laughed so vile as Evil itself will only describe.

-Later on...-

Engineer is finishing up getting his sentry to Level 3, then a familiar zap and buzz of his Dispenser after being sapped by the sapper, the AM/FM Ultra-Sapper, is the default building weapon for the Spy. It is a small electric generator inscribed 'ELECTRO-SAPPER', with a carrying handle, two long yellow wires and a meter.

“Spy’s sapping mah dispenser!” Engie yelled as he begins to smack it off as the BLU Spy uncloaks himself with the Black Rose knife as he raised it into the air, ready to bring it down onto the Texan’s back as it turned for a moment.

*HACK*

A thunk of an ax to BLU Spy’s shoulder as a sheering spike of pain rushed through him, the Frenchman screamed and drops the knife down, that made the Engineer turned around as he gets out the Frontier Justice in one hand and firing a round to Spy’s head, making it exploded into a bloody splatter like a water balloon but with the water being replaced with blood and chunks of bone inside.

Both Pyro and the Engineer covered in blood, she pulled it out of the corpse and watched it dropped to the floor while the Engineer finished getting the sapper out off of the dispenser, allowing to function well again.

“Thanks Pyro.” Engineer looked at her, she mumbled “Anytime Engie.” as she places the ax on her shoulder while he turned back to fix the dispenser.

Then a sight rumble started, they both can feel it under their feet as they looked around. “What in Sam Hill....?” he asked but somehow lost the confidence to finish the question as he scratched the back of his head in confusion and fear when the Administrator begins to say “Alert! Alert! Alert!” as the alarms are beginning to sound off across Offblast.

“Engineer...” Pyro wheezed, “It’s time to go.” as she placed her hand on his shoulder. Engineer looked at her, he now knows that it’s time to abandon his buildings to get out of Offblast. “Alright then.” he muttered, “Let’s go!” he ran as Pyro followed suit to the outside of the base and saw the a dark shade of gray clouds covering up the skies. The ground bellow them rumbled more harder as they stumbled a little, nearly towards the edge of the cliff.

“W-What in What in tarnation is going on!?” Engineer said as he and Pyro catches their balance on the pillars of their base as BLU versions of Scout and Medic lost it and then fell off the canyon to their deaths. “I-I don’t know!” Pyro stuttered as bits of rubble fallen down on their heads then to the ground.

“Aaaaah!” “Mehdic!”

They looked to where RED Medic and Heavy are and they saw to their shock is Heavy holding on to the frame of the window with one hand while using the other to hold Medic from... Being sucked into the sky when a light purple and cyan glow had appeared after the clouds began swirling.

“Doc!” “Medic!”

Medic is holding on for dear life as Heavy is trying to pull them back into the base but failing in the process as the force of it is getting stronger by the minute. Then they are pulled into the sky as they screamed.

Without another word, they began running now as everything around them is falling apart. They are trying to push through the force of the wind blowing through them but as they are halfway to their base, Engineer had to grabbed onto the frame of the doorway while holding onto Pyro’s hand as the winds are getting too strong.

“Hold’ on, Matches!” Engineer yelled as he has a death grip on the door frame, Engineer then looked to see that Soldier is doing the same thing as well, hearing Scout screaming as he is digging his nails into the hard wood floor before being forcefully pulled into the skies but Soldier managed to grabbed him before that could happen.

Scout was terrified, he was screamed “I knew this will one day happened! I foresaw dis!! Soldier! This is the end of the-” “Do not use that tone of doubt on me, Private!” Soldier splat him in as he held onto his teammate with determination.

“Engie... I... Can’t.... Hold on...!” Pyro grunted as she is losing grip on the Engineer’s hand, he held onto it tighter than ever; refusing to let her go up there.

They then heard Sniper screaming and flying onto Soldier, knocking him and Scout into the skies with him as they screamed, then the ground shook violently as Engineer felt it and... the door frame broke, sending him and Pyro into the sky with a scream as everything gone white before suddenly; darkness.

“*Groan* ....What in buzzard‘s breakfest... How many beers did I have last night...?” he groaned as he rubbed his head while his hardhat is still on as he pulled himself off the wooden floor with a headache.

He groaned as he looked at the window and saw that there’s a forest outside and an old western town with the 1940′s, 60′s and 70′s Medical/Mental hospital and a train station.

Has he fell asleep during the mission but it soon came to him: He was in Offblast and he’s now in a map that he doesn’t know. It’s not a dream, something else... Is going on right now.

He needs to find the rest of his team and figure this out, he got up and ran out of the building as zombies are digging themselves out of the ground, hungry for flesh and sole thirst for blood.
