“McFarlane?” 

The sheriff's deputy looked at them with a raised eyebrow. Dean matched him, unimpressed, while Sam kept a pleasant smile on his face, hoping for the best.

“Family business?” 

There was a pause, then…

“Family business?” Sam repeated. 

“Just wondering if your partner got any relative working for the F.B.I.,” Deputy Walsh said.

Oh, that could not be good. King County was a small town in the Middle of Nowhere, Georgia. If there was an actual FBI agent working the case, it would not take long for them to run into each other. The brothers opened their mouths to lie but were, once again, beaten to it by the deputy:

“Grimes!” Deputy Walsh exclaimed. His attention was focused somewhere behind Sam and Dean. They turned around to discover King County’s sheriff. “Think I found part of your boyfriend’s family.”

Definitely not good.

“What are you talking about?” Sheriff Grimes asked his deputy. He didn’t bother looking at him nor at Sam and Dean at first, too busy reading something on his smartphone and searching his pockets.

“This is Agents Warren and McFarlane,” Deputy Walsh said. 

It was probably imperceptible to the untrained eye but Sheriff Grimes tensed upon hearing Dean’s fake surname. However, a warm smile stretched his lips as he finally focused on the brothers.

“What a coincidence,” he said. 

He held out his hand, shaking theirs, one after the other. 

“Sure thing,” Dean said.

So basically Sam and Dean end up in the TWD universe because ✨magic✨ (probably some angel fuckery)

And after nearly getting overrun by walkers, a group of people stumbles upon them and save their asses

Unfortunately for them, these people are Saviors

Upon realizing the boys don't have anything useful on them (besides a knife with some weird ass carvings on it and maybe a couple other small weapons), whoever the highest ranking person in this group happens to be makes the call to bring them back to the Sanctuary and let Negan decide what to do with them

Sam and Dean initially resist, they throw some punches, maybe even manage to kill a couple of the saviors, but und up getting knocked out and restrained.

So they're taken back to the sanctuary, and what happens was obviously called in so Dwight and Simon are there to keep Sam and Dean in line until Negan can come handle the situation. The only thing keeping them alive at this point is the fact that two people wandering around without food, looking the way they do (like they haven't been fighting walkers for years on end) clearly must have a community nearby.

So they're on their knees, nowhere to run, way too many guns pointed at them, waiting for Negan to show up

And the look on their faces when he does is just priceless

They obviously recognize that this is some crazy alternate universe, and with the fact everyone keeps calling their dad "Negan" instead of John there's clearly something going in here they aren't seeing, plus there is no sign of recognition from their father so they have to assume they were never born in this universe.

So neither of them is stupid enough to call him dad

Anyway

Negan runs through some basic questions, trying to figure out who they are, where their community is, and what the hell the were doing out in Savior territory

At first he doesn't get answers, just wisecracks from Dean, but eventually Sam has enough and snaps at his brother, because they probably have a better chance at getting out of this alive if they cooperate.

So Sam tries to explain they don't have a community, they've been on their own for a long time, but they got lost while hunting and have just been trying to find their way back to where they came from. It's not totally a lie, but it's a warped version of the truth.

Unfortunately Negan doesn't buy it. And Dean's refusal to tell them anything isn't belong Sam's case

So eventually Negan just says that if they won't tell him what he needs to know, he'll kill one of them. And if the other still won't tell him what he needs to know, they'll get tossed in a cell until they're willing to play nice. He also informs them that most people wouldn't have been kept breathing this long after killing his people, so he has already shown more mercy than he usually would. Basically he makes the death threat and then also tries to get them to see that he doesn't want to kill either of them, that he'd much rather just have them work for him, and with what his men say they could both make damn good soldiers. But if they're not going to be honest, that can't happen.

Dean immediately jumps to his brother's defense and once again tries to assure Negan that Sam was telling the truth. But he also offers to let himself be killed or taken prisoner on the spot if Negan won't believe them, so long as his brother gets to live outside of a cell

He was willing to endure whatever they wanted to throw at him as long as Sam survived

Sam of course argues with him and tries to talk Negan into taking him instead, which just ends in the boys arguing about who Negan should take

In the end Negan likes the sound of their offer, after all a couple more workers are more useful than corpses, but tells them that they have to decide between themselves who is being taken prisoner in the next two minutes or he just kills them both and puts it to rest.

It ends up being Dean. He refuses to let Sam get a single word in. He promises that he'll find them a way out of this, and then Negan has Dwight drag him off to toss him in a cell.

Sam is given a rundown of how things work in the Sanctuary, and told that he has two choices: work for points, or become a soldier. And after what happened in the woods, Simon encourages him to take the latter option. He and his brother both show potential and as long as Dean eventually bends the knee the two of them could even end up working together at some point. Plus there's the fact that Sam was going to wish he was dead if he chose to work for points. He relents and takes the offer to become a soldier, he knows Dean probably won't give in, but with the increased freedom and access he would have as a soldier he might be able to break his brother out sooner or later and the two could get out of here and back to their own universe.

There is also an alternate version where Sam and Dean are both taken as prisoners (Dean has a lot in common with Daryl and Dwight if you ask me, there is no universe in my mind where Negan doesn't want to break him and turn him into a lieutenant) except Sam winds up another kind of prisoner. He isn't working the wall, eating shit sandwiches, and listening to the same songs on repeat. He ends up one of Negan's wives instead.

Summary: At the start of the apocalypse (one of many you'd been a part of), you and your brothers got separated. So, you roamed the new world on your own, searching for them. You just knew they were alive, so you kept yourself alive too. That and looking for them were your main priorities. Well, until you run into a group and meet a man you can't quite get out of your head.

TWs: cursing, anti-john winchester, lil bit of misogyny, injuries, blades, guns, threatening someone's life, all things TWD and SPN.

[[A/N: so this is my personal trifecta. I am in love with this concept. This is so exciting for me, it's all my favoritesssss. I hope the audience who will read this enjoys :))) ]]

Personally, you'd always thought if the world went to shit, you would be with your brothers. It just seemed natural, the three (recently four) of you against whatever monster of the week it was. You'd kind of gotten used to it, to them.

When you were growing up, John (he was never a Dad, especially not yours) dropped you off at Bobby's. Not in the every once in awhile way, like your brothers, he left you there. Something about you being a little girl, like he could condition Sam and Dean, but not you. Because you were a girl.

(Despite what John thought, Bobby did teach you the way of a hunter. After letting you be a kid, though.)

You saw your brothers a lot when you were young, mostly because John disappeared and would drop them off while he did... whatever the hell he did. Hunt, supposedly. And yeah, it got spotty when you were older, Sammy going to college, and Dean stuck to John's side.

But, then, the fateful day came.

"Dad's on a hunting trip, and he hasn't been home in a few days."

It all started from there, the three of you stuck like glue. You'd seen their highs and lows, and they had seen yours right back. Your group grew to include a few more faces, and then maybe it shrunk again because of... because people didn't last forever.

All that to say, when the world went to shit, you were with them. Always. Every time. (Even sometimes when they didn't want you to be.)

Except for now.

You'd gone out on a solo hunt. Maybe to clear your head? You couldn't remember. Sam and Dean didn't want you to go, but they were overprotective, big brothers, they never wanted you to go. You told them you'd be fine and would be back in a few weeks, at most.

Long story short, the world went to shit, and you were far away from the bunker. Far away from your brothers.

The thought of it all still made you sick to your stomach. At first, you thought you could make it back to the bunker -just kinda on instincts. Follow the road sort of thing.

And then, your car ran out of gas.

You liked to think that you'd know the land of one state from another, but after a few days of endless trees and the stretch of pavement, you realize that you 100% didn't.

So, your priorities shifted, and you readied up for the long haul. Because somewhere in your chest, you could tell this apocalypse might just be the one that sticks.

With your luck anyway.

You tugged on the thin tree branch, snapping it off the trunk. Your eyes skimmed across the sky, trying to track the sun -the hours of sunlight were important now. Sometimes you missed sleeping in though, you'll admit.

Letting out a long sigh, you gathered up your wood collection and shoved it into your backpack -one you'd spotted in a strip mall. Otherwise, you had your duffle, full of all the... other stuff. Hunting stuff.

Surprisingly, you didn't need a lot of it now. Just an old army knife, kept in your pocket was reminiscent of that life. Dean gave it to you, a long time ago.

Huddling into the little shack you'd found by the road (well, in between a shack and a barn really), you put them all down and pulled out some matches.

It was the hot, humid kind of season then, but still, the night got cold. And if there's one thing you couldn't handle right now, it was getting sick. So, you made a fire -despite the heat feeling a little like it was stuck to your skin. Like maybe you'd never wash it off.

You didn't really think you'd wash any of this off.

Satisfied with the fire, you pulled yourself against the worn wooden walls, tilting your chin up to the sky. Your eyes flicked across the rusted metal roof -eying the scratches and buffs. And with a breath, you closed your eyes for a second.

That was the thing, living in this new world, you were always on edge. Survival mode. Before with Sam and Dean, you had a safe place. Motels, the bunker, Baby. And even if you didn't have a roof over your head, you had them.

They wouldn't let anything hurt you, just like you wouldn't let anything hurt them. And it made you... Without them, it made you afraid. For the first time in a long time, you had no one to watch your back.

So, you lived everyday with heightened senses and numbness to everything that wasn't hunger. You actually don't think you've spoken in weeks, it was a little like you reverted. Like you were how humans were in the beginning, primitive, hunter-gatherers. The shit you see on the nature channel.

On that thought, you opened your eyes back up and pulled your backpack forward -digging through the pockets. Gnawing at your lip, you eyed your rations. It wasn't a lot, you'd probably have to be on the look for more soon. That, or you could spread what you did have over the next few days.

Without another thought, you pulled out a can and with the ease of a breath, pried it open. It was some sort of beans, you didn't really care at this point. Food was food.

Quietly, you ate.

Every time you did though, you missed Dean's food. When he'd cook for everybody. It wasn't just some can of beans-

You turned the can in your hands, eying the label. Not one you'd ever seen before, but yeah, some sort of beans. Baked beans. The kind of stuff you get at a barbecue. You could nearly hear the squeaky styrofoam plates and the smell of charcoal. (The whole thing sent something through you that felt a little like nostalgia and a little like grief.)

Briefly, you wondered if they were healthy. If Sam would tell you they weren't and try to convince you to eat something else. Maybe he'd even snatch them from you.

Would they have even left the bunker? Was that not the safest place in the world?

Well, by now, they would have. You'd been gone for months at this point. Or you think so anyway. (You had been counting, but just lost the point of it.) And realistically, they probably went out to look for you after maybe two weeks. If that.

God, you could imagine them now. Those pinched faces they get when they're worried, Dean ready to kill everything in his way, and Sam with his ever-present hope. You could really picture what Dean was probably saying at this point.

"We're in a damn zombie movie, Sammy!"

You laughed at that, swirling your spoon (you had a few) around your can.

Sometimes, if you focused hard enough, you could perfectly picture them. Dean nursing a beer, flicking through channels in his 'Dean-cave', Cas beside him (trying to follow along with his explanations), and Sam, with at least 5 books on the table in front of him, engrossed in whatever case he'd found.

That was the nice thing about the bunker, the quiet little things and at the same time the hum of people, of family.

You missed it now.

As you sat by your fire, in walls that weren't the bunker's, eating something that your brother hadn't made, you missed it.

You were in your room editing a video while on live. You were answering questions and laughing as you were telling stories to your fans. There was a small knock on your door.

"Come in." You say. You turn your head to see your boyfriend walking in. "Hi baby." You say, a smile immediately crossing your face at just the sight of him. "Hey, whatcha doin?" He presses a quick kiss to your head before looking at your screen. "Editing a video on live." You say.

You glance at the chat and its full of compliments and comments on the two of you. "Thank you for th compliments guys!" You say with a smile.

"Babe look at my new hoodie!" He steps back and shows it off. "I like that one it looks good on you." You say. "Everything look good on me." He says in the same voice he would use fir Colleen, causing a laugh out of you.

"You're right everything does look good on you." You say. "How much longer are you gonna be on live?" Colby asks. "Uhm maybe about twenty minutes? Why?" You ask. "Jake wants to have a movie night and is insisting on everyone being there." Colby says with a playful eye roll.

"Okay, I'll be done in a bit and I'll come down." You say. "Okay." He goes to walk away but you call him back. "C'mere." You pull him down by the chain he was wearing and you give him a kiss. "Be down soon." You say before focusing your attention back to the screen.

He walks off and you glance at the comments.

"did you see how he looked at her?"

"Literally the cutest couple out there."

"I would have died if someone kissed me like that."

"Colby move its my turn."

You smile reading them answering more questions that pop up abd such. Finally you ended your live about twenty minutes later and there was another knock. "Yeah?" You say as you get up from your chair. And walk to grab your phone from the charger by your bed.

"Brotha come in it is time for movies!" You hear Jake say. "I'm on my way, I just ended live." You say. You turn back around and Jake is standing right in front of you. "Bruva. We must go now." You laugh at the British accent he's talking with as he grabs your arm and pulls you all the way downstairs.

You sit next to Colby, giving him a quick kiss on the cheek and snuggling up to him while Jake picks out the first movie. Colby pauses for a second before wrapping his arm around you. "You ok?" You ask while looking up at him. "Yeah, sorry." He smiles.

"Aww look at the cute couplee. You disgust me." Corey says. You laugh at the face he makes. "Would you like to join us brother?" Colby says. "Really?"He says in a funny voice. You and Colby both open up the arm you have free. Corey comes over and plops on the two of you.

"Oh my god Corey." You say laughing, trying to keep him from falling off the couch. "This is really great thank you guys." Corey says. "Of course Corey." You say with a small laugh. He actually ends up staying like yhat for a little bit before getting up abd complaining about his back.

After many many movies, Just about everyone was asleep except the two of you. "Y'know I love you right?" Colby asks. "Of course." You say looking to him. "I know sometimes I act weird about physical touch. I dont mean too.' He says. "I know, just let me know if you ever get uncomfortable." You say. "I dont think I can with you." He says.

You smile as you cuddle up next to him, feeling his arms tighten around you. The two of you fall asleep on the couch, along with everyone else.
