This isn't a meme but what's your opinion on the show being renewed for a 13th season?
Mun-Directed Questions About Roleplaying!
Post-Writing Edit: I wonā€™t put this under a cut. Iā€™m going to be honest. And itā€™s a hurtful kind of honesty. You might want to consider passing on.
[ Iā€™m just gonna link the meme anyway, since itā€™s kinda what Iā€™m guessing prompted this question. ;)
I actually have really mixed feelings about going into S13. Part of me wants to see more of S12 before I make a call on itā€“Iā€™m only up to E3ā€“but the other part of meā€¦kinda knows what call Iā€™m gonna make already, because itā€™s the same call I made for S8. And S9. And S10. And S11. And S12.
Why is this show still on-air?
Now, I donā€™t mean that as insult: I mean that as a genuine question. I know Iā€™m not one of the people keeping ratings up. I have maybe two people out of everyone I know who are only maybe, maybe, playing into those ratings. So who is still watching? The show hasnā€™t been fresh in a while. The formula is still the same.
Last Season ends on a major event, either character death, disappearance, or game-changing revelation; New Season picks up with whoever out of the Boys wasnā€™tĀ involved in the Last Season event trying to correct the situation; partial resolution by Episode 4 AT THE OUTSIDE, when the Boys are all together again in some way, shape, or form; major event is mostly dealt with by the beginning of Episode 9 and New Event is brewing to end the New Season; every fucking moment of this event will be very painfully drawn out by the same unoriginal trope of the Boys not communicating fully with one another and acting more like teenaged edgelord piss-babies than fucking 40-year old men, which they are even canonically at this point.
Where I am in S12, Deanā€™s just said heā€™s 37. He and Sam and certainlyĀ Cas are too old to keep getting jerked along by the same plot devices used in subpar Pre-/Adolescent Fiction. It was cute for a seasonā€“now weā€™ve had at least seven, going on eightĀ seasons of it.
But hereā€™s the thing. Iā€™m not willing to condemn Season 13 just yet.
Not because I expect the writing to turn around and give us a plot that doesnā€™tĀ rely on more bullshit lies, half-truths, and miscommunications, but because Iā€™ve seen the trend in other areas. Frankly, the Boys are fucked. Theyā€™ve been fucked for several seasons by now. Theyā€™re not going to get the same kind of character development they used to get, like when Cas had to decide if humanity meant enough to him to disobey Heaven and protect the Winchesters and Earth, or when Sam had to decide FOR THE FIRST TIMEā€“the impactfulĀ timeā€“if his life was worth the lives of everyone on the planet, or when Dean had to learnā€“for the first time again, for the only time it felt meaningfulā€“that sometimes winning the war can mean losing a piece of yourself.Ā No, theyā€™re going to get more hissy fits, more manpain, more angst, and maybe, hopefully, something smaller and cool and meaningful that the fansĀ can give proper weight toā€“like LuciCase, like Sam finally realizing that heā€™s okay with hunting, like Deanmon.
I stopped watching the show for the Boys a long time ago.
But do you know what this show does better than anything else, what Iā€™m willing to give Season 13 a chance on again, what Iā€™m waiting to see develop?
Those secondary characters. Bobby. Crowley. Jo. Ellen. Jody. Kevin. Linda. Charlie. Donna. Claire. Krissy. Billie. The recurring characters, the ones who came back episode after episode, who were fun and funny and well-written. Five of those are dead and will hopefullyĀ remain soā€“because I think we can allĀ agree that ghost!Bobby was as unnecessary as it was hurtful, and that it disrespected a character we all loved. At least one of those has fallen into the same awful hole as the Boys, where all the character development has run together and given up and become horrible and repetitive and wishy-washy and just keeps happening, no matter how oftenĀ ā€œa lesson is learnedā€ and they expressā€“verballyā€“that they wonā€™t fall into the same trap again.
You know what I want? I want a new secondary character. I want a woman. I want her to be a badass and I donā€™tĀ want her to have a romance with any of the Big Four. I donā€™t want her to have a romance at all, but Iā€™ll settle for her having a romance with someone off-screen or unrelated to the showā€™s events. I want her to be witty. I want her to be a badass. But above all, I want her to be unique, and if she mustĀ die, I want her death to be about her, not about the Boys.I want her to be reluctant, like Kevin.I want her to call the Boys out on their bullshit, like Bobby.I want her to be hardcore, like Krissy, but soft, like Jody.
Iā€™m not going to get her. I wouldnā€™t get her even if she was a he instead.
But I know Iā€™m going to get SOMEone, someone beyond my wildest dreams, someone WONDERFUL, and that someone is going to be the whole reason Season 13 is watchable, enjoyable, pleasant.
So thereā€™s my two cents on the hot-button topic. To say Iā€™m critical is fairā€“to say Iā€™m hypocritical, on some level, is also fair. But in reality: Iā€™m passionate. And Iā€™m pissed-off because I was promisedĀ better going into the show, I was promisedĀ better with every season of this show, and even when things didnā€™t getĀ better, I hell, THE WHOLE FANDOM, deservesĀ better.Ā ]

How Iā€™d Like to See the Hug go down.
When Castiel first appears, Dean scoffs in disdain. Fuck whatever creature thought this would be even a little bit funny. He charges forward, feeling a sense of deja vu as he plunges Rubyā€™s dagger into the imposterā€™s chest cavity.
Tumblr media
Before Dean can release his grip on the blade, his eyes widening in surprise, Cas closes his hand over Deanā€™s and gently guides his hand to pull the blade out, together.
Cas releases his grip on Deanā€™s hand and the blade tumbles to the ground with a clacking echo. Cas ducks his gaze slightly as a smile curls his lips up in that familiar crooked tilt and he says, ā€œHello, Dean.ā€
Tumblr media
He knows, in that instant, this is Cas. No one but the real Cas could nail the way that angel always said those two words. Thereā€™s a million questions running through his head, but instead of asking them, or focusing his attention on the biggest one of all: How? Instead, Dean yanks Cas into a hug. Wrapping his arms around a torso he had previously embraced in order to carry the dead form of his best friend to his funeral pyre.
Dean is at a loss for words, and heā€™s a little hesitant to let go, but somehow he manages to find the strength to loosen his grip and take a step back. Those questions still wonā€™t pass over his lips. Dean watches in a sort of daze as Cas hugs his brother. Words are exchanged, but everything sounds muffled, like heā€™s under water.
Cas looks at him, concern etched into his features. Dean smiles and claps a hand on his shoulder.
Tumblr media
Deanā€™s still kind of at a loss for words. Vocal cords paralyzed by a numbness that feels relentless. A numbness that washed over him when he watched Cas die. When he burned his body, when he said goodbye. For real.
What could he possibly say?
What? That Dean was scared to actually allow himself feeling anything, because what Casā€™s return meant was that hope still existed? That maybe there was hope that Mom was alive? There was hope that Jack could get them to that dimension? There was hope that Jack could be good, that he could be saved? That there was hope again?

I know everyone's hoping for a lot of destiel next episode
But honestly I'd find it hilarious if the Winchester brothers both got enamoured with witch sisters. And I say this as a HUGE destiel engame fan. I just, I guess my expectations are pretty low- I don't want to get my hopes up. Trust me I'm all for Cas/the-witch-Dean's-in-love-with parallels (as in Dean treating them similarly or whatever), but I doubt they'd take that route- it's not comical enough. As for Cas breaking the spell, that's more likely, but probably won't be explicitly shown or stated- if anything it'd be left up for interpretation, as always. Again, I'm fine with that; I'm trying to be realistic. The feel for next episode based on the trailer is that it's going to be humourous and light hearted, so I'm not expecting anything different. But hey, the boldness and textual-ness of destiel has already surprised me this season- maybe it'll continue to do so.

supernatural dinosaurs
so some monster dino is about to eat Sam and Dean when a raptor comes out of nowhere and attacks it and two more appear and attack the legs as a camouflaged figure emerges from the woods riding a stallion-type-dino and shoots a net that wraps around to muzzle the beast and a few other dino riders join the hunt and continue to shoot nets around the beast and the first rider and another rider approach the boys who have dove for cover and they reach out and each take one hauling them up onto their badass dino rides and they gallop off to safety as the bewildered brothers hold on for dear life and when they are in the clear the figures disrobe their head-wraps and the boys find the likes of Owen Grady as Deans saviour - all scruff and brawn and scars and secret shining eyes - and Claire Dearing as Sams saviour - all firewild hair and moonlight complexion and amazon woman strength and peach lips quirking up into a smile - and the boys just look at each other in disbelief at everything that just happened before Dean says,Ā ā€œGuess weā€™reĀ not in Kansas anymoreā€.

Supernatural season 13 predictionsā€¦ kinda
Me, you, Oprah and the Pope: ā€œdonā€™t do anything stupidā€ is Deanā€™s way of telling Cas to be safe because heā€™s worried.
Spn writers: NO HEā€™S MAD AT CAS BECAUSE GE ALWAYS GETS HIMSELF INTO TROUBLE AND GE HAS TO SAVE HIS ASS
Now, SPOILER ALERT we all know what happened in 13x07. Dean is like ā€œdonā€™t do anything stupidā€ and Cas walks right into a trap, goes for drinks with Luci and gets kidnapped by Asmodeus.
As far as my information goes, Cas wonā€™t be back until February and Iā€™m honestly a little worried about the episode where he comes backā€¦
Because what we want to see is:
Cas: DEAN!!
Dean: Cas, you son of a bitch!
Dean: *hugs Cas*
Dean: *fighting back tears*
Dean: *whispers* didnā€™t I tell you not to do anything stupid
Me: *squeals*
But what weā€™re probably gonna get is:
Cas: DEAN!!
Dean: Cas, you sON OF A BITCH!! You should have told us what was going on! TALK TO US!!
Dean: *is mad at Cas for the rest of the episode and acts all cold and douchey*
Dean: *wonā€™t talk about it until the next episode*
Me: *screams* *throws laptop at wall*

Calling it now
Patienceā€™s dad is going to die before the end of the season/early on in Wayward
I just imagined Jody, Donna, Alex, Claire and Patience having Christmas dinner at Jodyā€™s in Sioux Falls, and then Patience invites her dad over and they stare at her like
Look at you
with your LIVING dad
thats so nice
So to prevent Patience from being too happy so she can join the clan of miserable wayward sister adopted orphans I think her dad is going to die before s13 finishes.Ā

I feel bad discussing spn now thatā€™s over but Iā€™ve been wondering. Do you think dean actually meant it when he said ā€œwhy does that something always seem to be youā€ (15.03)? Usually people blurt out whatā€™s on their mind all of a sudden even if they didnā€™t mean to say it out loud. But it comes out because the person either thinks about it or actually believes it. Do you think at one point Dean truly blamed Cas for Mary? I mean, putting 15.09 aside of course.
Why do you feel bad discussing SPN now the showā€™s over, anon?? Donā€™t feel bad!
The short answer to your question, in my view, is that Dean was lashing out because of how his unaddressed trauma over Cas dying (cf. 7x01, purgatory, 12x23) gets entangled with him processing his grief over Mary and Jack. Everything is further exacerbated by Chuckā€™s villain reveal, and the events that lead to Rowenaā€™sĀ ā€œdeath.ā€Ā  The longer answer to this question starts with acknowledging that feelings and trauma are complicated things that aren't always rational. And that's the crux of the matter for Dean in that moment he lashes out at Cas: he's not behaving rationally. We know Dean is angry, and historically doesn't handle anger well at all, but we also know, even without 15x09, that what Dean is really feeling is fear. In that moment, Dean is angry, and he's scared. If you watch the scene closely, too, you'll notice that Dean is still present enough to regret saying "why does that something always seem to be you" to Cas. He tenses up, he looks down and only looks up again in stubbornness defiance when Cas says he can't even look at him. Then Cas leaves, which has always been an issue for Dean. However warranted Cas's decision to leave was, it still hits Dean as rejection, too. All this is to say that the break up scene is extremely fraught, and Dean is the type of person who needs time to process events and emotions, and time to process is something he hasn't had since Mary disappeared.
So you ask: ok, cool, but what does all of that have to do with Cas dying, Liv? And here's where I say they haveĀ everything to do with Cas dying. I've talked about this before in tags and in other posts that I can't think of right now, but there are common occurrences in the events that have led to the more traumatic Cas deaths.Ā If we think of Cas dying in 07x01, the context for that is as follows: Cas needs to solve a problem, he wants to ask Dean for help, but the desire to not burden him with it is greater, so Cas ends up handling the problem solo, which leads to disaster and also him dying. Or, well, apparently dying. But as far as Dean was concerned, Cas was dead, and he did struggle with it a lot during season 7. Now, fast-forward to s12 and the context of how Cas ends up dead then: Cas needs to solve a problem, part of him does want to cooperate with Sam and Dean to solve it, but he ultimately decides his desire to bring Dean a win, and to shield him and Sam from actions they'd suffer from are greater. Predictably, Cas ends up handling the problem solo, which leads to complications, and him being killed by Lucifer. Cas's death in 12x23 is significantly more traumatic to Dean than the one in 07x01 as season 13 starts with a grief arc that is devoted to Dean's suffering over Cas -- to the point that suffering overshadows even his grief over Mary. Granted, these are somewhat reductive summaries of the events of seasons 7 and 12, but the fact remains that those two deaths were remarkably similar as well as traumatic.Ā
If you look at trauma theory in regards to literary analysis, you'll notice that a key element is repetition. The story of trauma is a story of echoes, which is partly why triggers are what they are for people who have PTSD. In particular, a situation doesn't need to be an exact replica in order to evoke a traumatic memory. A situation need only be similar enough to the traumatic event to cause a trauma response. Therefore, if we keep in mind that the events leading to 15x03 arenā€™t exact mirrors of 07x01 or 12x23, but too reminiscent for comfort, then Deanā€™s behavior toward Cas starts making a bit more sense -- not excused, but understandable. A quick summary of these similarities goes as follows: Cas notices thereā€™s is something off with Jack because of his soul; he decides to investigate on his own to avoid worrying the Winchesters and also because of his own fear of losing his family. He only comes forward with what is happening after something potentially disastrous has happened (Maryā€™s death). Later, Cas deviates from the agreed plan to close the wound leading to hell, which leads to another disastrous consequence (Rowenaā€™s death). What does this look like? Cas makes a decision to act on his own, and doesnā€™t tell Dean (or Sam) about it, something goes wrong, someone dies. Notably, here, moreover, is that Cas obviously doesnā€™t die, but he has paralleled Mary before (when he was dead in s13) and thereā€™s an argument to be made that he would eventually parallel Rowena (with heaven), but thatā€™s from a metanarrative perspective rather than Deanā€™s, and I digress.
Oh, Itā€™s worth noting, too, that the way in which the arc starting with 14x18 and culminating in 15x03 presents a similar, but not quite, chain of events as those of previous seasons signals the intentionality of the trauma narrative.Ā
But anyway, as we were: the resonance between the traumatic and triggering events, with the latter being traumatic in their own way, make Dean response in a way that is unfair for the situation at hand, but betray a deeper truth about Deanā€™s state of mind. Backtracking a little from 15x03, the first instance of Dean lashing out at Cas happens in 14x18 with the (heartbreaking) line:Ā ā€œThen you're dead to me.ā€ At face value, those words are a condemnation of Cas and indicate a complete breakdown of the relationship, hinging on Jack having hurt/killed Mary. There is, however, another angle there, pain simmering beneath the surface, which makes more sense in its direction to Cas: the last time Jack, Mary, and Cas were involved in a tableaux like this, Cas died and Mary was gone. In what is an inversion of events, Mary is dead and Cas is...there, but as an echo of Jackā€™s birth, to say Cas is dead is a statement of fact: he did die, then. And as he was a parallel to Mary in the aftermath of Jackā€™s birth (and the rehashing of the John, Dean, Sam drama through Dean, Sam, and Jack), so is he a parallel to Mary here, except in circumstance. Both Mary and Cas had been after Jack. Mary happened to find him first, but Cas couldā€™ve easily been the one to find him. Easily been the one who died. See the issue? This is obviously not to say that Deanā€™s grief and rage werenā€™t about Mary herself, but that the situations are entangled and murky.Ā
Further entanglement and murkiness happen when Cas is forced to change the plan to seal the hell wound in 15x03. We all know, including Dean, that there was nothing Cas couldā€™ve done instead of what he did. But besides the change of plans, thereā€™s an undercurrent of anxiety of the wound closing before Cas makes it out. He does, of course, but thatā€™s the what if, always. And to illustrate the possibility, Rowena sacrifices herself to close the wound. Itā€™s not coincidence that the similarities here are tenuous considering the stress burden from everything that has happened since 14x18 has continued to grow with no respite.
The stage is set then for the confrontation that leads to Cas walking out of the bunker. Dean is clearly on edge, and Cas is in a particularly vulnerable and hopeless headspace:
CASTIEL: Sorry about Rowena. DEAN: You're sorry? Why didn't you just stick to the damn plan? CASTIEL: Belphegor was lying. DEAN: Belphegor's a demon. CASTIEL: He was using us. He wanted to eat every last soul to take over Hell, Earth, and every... DEAN: Yeah, and we would've figured it out... after. With Rowena. CASTIEL: The plan changed, Dean. Something went wrong. You know this. Something always goes wrong. DEAN: Yeah, why does that something always seem to be you?
The reason I went of this long journey to come back to this is so as to make clear that what Dean is talking about here isnā€™t about Rowena at all, and itā€™s not about Mary either. We know Dean didnā€™t really blame Cas for Mary, and that he didnā€™t blame him for Rowena, either. But do those bolded parts sound familiar?
CASTIEL: Listen. Raphael will kill us all. He'll turn the world into a graveyard. I had no choice.
DEAN: No, you had a choice. You just made the wrong one.
CASTIEL: You don't understand. It's complicated.
DEAN: No, actually, it's not, and you know that. Why else would you keep this whole thing a secret, huh, unless you knew that it was wrong? When crap like this comes around, we deal with it... Like we always have. What we don't do is we don't go out and make another deal with the Devil!
CASTIEL: It sounds so simple when you say it like that. Where were you when I needed to hear it?
DEAN: I was there. Where were you?
DEAN: You should've come to us for help, Cas.
How about:
DEAN: Cas, you can't ā€“ With everything that's going on, you can't just go dark like that. We didn't know what happened to you. We were worried. That's not okay. CASTIEL: Well, I didn't mean to add to your distress. I ā€“ Dean, I just keep failing. Again and again. When you were taken, I searched for months and I couldn't find you. And then Kelly escaped on my watch, and I couldn't find her. And I just wanted I needed to come back here with a win for you. For myself.
[...]
DEAN : We will find a better way. CASTIEL: You mean, we? DEAN : Yes, dumbass. We. You, me, and Sam, we're just better together. So now that you're back, let's go, Team Free Will. Let's get it done. CASTIEL: I'd like that. DEAN: Great.
ā€œThen, youā€™re dead to me.ā€Ā ā€œ...why does that something always seem to be youā€
Because itā€™s Cas, and Cas being dead and gone. The tragedy of the divorce arc is that Cas ends up gone, too. However, this time, itā€™s Deanā€™s fault for not stopping him. Here, Deanā€™s fear of Cas dying leads to the anger that ultimately pushes him away. So, yeah, Dean meant what he said, but not in the way Cas took it. Not in the way it appeared as.Ā
The other tragedy of Supernatural ending as it did is that Dean never got to heal from that trauma, he never got to confront Cas for it, either. Make no mistake, the empty deal is another spiral of Deanā€™s unaddressed trauma over Cas dying. The beats are the same, and the result is Cas, gone, and Dean, shattered. Sadly, we never got our final resolution, the climatic reunion that would mirror Deanā€™s prayer in purgatory and Casā€™s confession in the dungeon. Itā€™s a story left unfinished.Ā

So my sister and I have a theory based on this video and other things misha has said.
So in this video misha says that castiel is in a realm that has been mentioned but never shown. In a previous episode billy said there would be cosmic consequences so what if castiel was thrown into the empty when he died which is why misha said heā€™s more dead than usual (not in this vid but at comic con i believe) because billy said once youā€™re dead you stay dead.
So, what if when he somehow comes back (whether itā€™s jack or god or whoever) he loses some part of him and they can only get parts of him back which is why they say he comes back slowly. Misha also said there would be another person in this realm which Iā€™m thinking is billy or death. Let me know what you guys think! Feel free to add your predictions! I am dying to talk to someone about s13 in a positive way :)

Itā€™s been four weeks since Casā€™s death. (itā€™s been a month already, jeez)
This is what I want from season 13:
Dean is in complete denial. He is just like ā€œYou said it yourself, Sammy, Cas always comes backā€ He doesnt burn his body and just waits for him to come home. But then, when Mary comes back in like the second episode and something change (maybe something that lucifer says) and Dean realice Cas may not come back, and THEN we see a destroy Dean. I want Cas to come back like in episode 4 or 5. As human. Things turn to Sam once Cas is back, now Sam is the main focus of everything, focusing on HIS endgame butā€¦ As a background we have Dean and Cas being all cute and shit. We have Dean happy, Cas cracking jokes, Dean falling asleep on Casā€™s shoulder, Cas using Deanā€™s phrases and Samā€™s response being ā€œyeah, you two are spending way too much time togetherā€ The three of them going together to bars and Sam leaving with a girl ā€œIā€™m going toā€¦ iā€™m..ā€ Sam is too awkward to say he was leaving with someone. ā€œYeah, yeahā€¦ You go, Samanthaā€ Dean cant help but laugh. ā€œSure?ā€ Sam asked. Dean looked behind his shoulder. Cas was making small talk with the bartender, clearly a little drunk. ā€œOf courseā€ answers Dean, smiling. And we see all of that throught out the half season. And episode 10, we have a really deep heartbreaking episode. Where Cas has to decide if he stays human or not. And we have Dean finally confessing. ā€œYou need to choose yourself, Cas. whatever you want, just think of what you want. But I canā€™t let you go without you knowing that I... Sam and Mom and I love you. No... I love you. And I would rather have you.ā€ And BAM, surprising absolutely nobody, Castiel chooses to stay human.Ā  And then, I really want the brothers to separateā€¦ wait, hear me out. My hope, is that theyā€™ll have two differents storylines that would collide in episode 10, where something is happening in Kansas and the other one is happening in the other side of the country. Soā€¦ The brotherā€™s are all like ā€œWell, we know what to doā€ And so, Mary and Sam stay in kansas and Cas and Dean go (or the other way around) But, this time is good and amazing, and the brothers are ready to let go of each other. And they have these sappy moment, and they understand and they are genuine happy for each other, and trust each other and promise to text and call and Sam grabing Cas and saying ā€œTake care of himā€ and then doing the same thing with Dean because of course Cas is his brother too and GOD DAMMIT IM ALREADY CRYING. And I want some sort of time jump after the hiatus (episode 11?) where Dean and Cas have to come back to the bunker after a few months, and they found Sammi being a badass leader with a badass girlfriend (im assuming theyā€™ll have a woman for his endgame. If not, I still want a female badass sidekick) Ugh, can you imagine that? And Sam finding out about Cas and Dean?? Trought out the episode Sam noticing little things like Dean throwing away a paper with a waitressā€™s number on it, or talking to Cas way too close, or Dean slipping something like ā€œbabe, you got the keys?ā€ and inmeddiatly saying ā€œI was talking to the car. Sometimesā€¦ I talk to my carā€ or Cas wearing Deanā€™s favourite shirt without realizing.
Ā And Sam being angry at the fact that after all of the time they had talk on the phone, Dean never mention anything. And him being supporting, and amazing and having double dates. And Dean giving his brother relantionship advice (ā€seriously, dean? It took you like eight years to admit it to yourselfā€)
Basically, all Iā€™m asking is Dean to be happy. Sam to be happy. Cas to be happy. I want my Team Free Will to enjoy their liberty. (But, I think Iā€™m asking too much. Theyā€™ll never do that, unless is the final season)

HUG NOW please and thankyou
anyone else fear we might NOT actually get a Cas/Dean hug because weā€™re definitely already getting a Cas/Jack hug - in the bunker - so why would they start with a hug, jump in Baby, drive to the bunker, have another hug.. I dunno, I just feel like weā€™re gonna get jipped - the ep will start with them already in the car or arriving at the bunker, then Jack and Cas will hug and weā€™re just suppose to IMAGINE our Destiel dream hugĀ

Personally, itā€™s made me a lot happier to basically ignore the PR for the show because it differs so substantially from the experience of watching it that you donā€™t actually learn anything. Sometimes itā€™s even INTENTIONALLY misleading, especially with a Big Secret (TM). Even if they tell us something thatā€™s true itā€™s very often without the context that makes it mean something different and usually better than our dire predictions.
For instance, I remember when S12 was ending and everyone correctly spec-ed out Casā€™s death (while also correctly predicting that heā€™d be back in S13, which Jared told everyone accidentally on purpose at JIB anyway). There was SO. MUCH. UPSET. Like, I get it because Cas is extremely important to me too and I think in the past especially writers have under-used his characterā€™s potential. And Misha is the best man in the world imo so I also want all the good things for him. (And I think in HIS opinion not being in every episode of the show IS a good thing...letā€™s not forget that he has some agency in how he negotiates his seasonal contracts and that everyone knows heā€™s vital to the show.)
So I get it. But the emotional rollercoaster that Misha/Cas devotees find themselves on when following the party line seem exhausting and makes me sad at the situation where everyone feels so hair-trigger ready to assume the worst about the writers, the showrunner, and the network. Iā€™m not blaming the fans alone--I think SPN got itself into this position with some earlier public reactions and decisions (CHARLIE!!!) and thereā€™s some trust TPTB will never get back. (Also, sincerely, fuck Mark Pedowitz and Bob Singer while weā€™re at it; they have terrible instincts about where the show should be NOW vs a decade ago.)
Itā€™s a fine line between excited anticipation and anxiety, especially nowadays when the world is made of anxieties. PR communications of all kinds, including interviews, are carefully managed by a team that has a very specific purpose (watch the episode!!!) and has designed a communications strategy for that. I feel like the promo editors literally have never even watched the show. Even the actors have a message to push, things to mention, and things they can under no circumstances mention. Itā€™s heavily managed, and for that reason I only like to read interviews or commentary after the fact.Ā
If youā€™re finding the mounting speculation and the conflicting information about Casā€™s endgame stressful I would--if you can--step back. Read meta here that stays within the show, or just rewatch favorite Cas episodes. I send you love and understanding, but I also want you to have some peace (and this time before youā€™re done). <3

Every time Jack does something bad or disappoints Dean
*Jack does bad or disappointing thing*
Dean: You son of a bitch!
*Jack has look of surprise and takes offense*
Jack: Don't talk about my mother like that.
Dean: Wait, what?
Jack: You called my mother a-
*Is interrupted by Dean*
*Dean gets annoyed and impatient*
Dean: You know what? Never mind. I'm not even gonna argue with you on this.

Unpopular opinion:
I didnā€™t like the ā€œTwistā€ , I donā€™t like the idea of making Chuck the big bad, itā€™s just lazy writing, it seems like they are just running out of ideas, like they are doing this just for the sake of surprising us, after the 13 finale fiasco, since S13 finale was predictable, this time they were like letā€™s go for the big big twist.
Iā€™m sorry but any ā€œtwistā€ needs to have some logic in it, needs to be prepared, to give you hints,so when it happens, you are surprised but also you start to understand all the events that lead to that twist and everything makes since.Think sixth sense, think usual suspects, fight club ...
Yes Chuck was useless , absent most of the time, but the Chuck we knew the whole show, especially in S11, the one who fought Darkness to save humanity, had nothing of a big bad .
*Also what kind of big bad would give you the only gun that could kill him, please spn, donā€™t insult our intelligence, again. You did it with death on S10 finale and it was fun, stupid but fun, now itā€™s just plain stupid*
(Updated because we are not sure Chuck is dead yet , itā€™s still stupid though )
