Loki and Sigyn had lived ,independently from each other, for thousands of years before, and thanks to a weird twist of fate, they finally laid eyes on each other, but the moment their stares connected it felt like all those millennia never mattered. As if no one else in the world existed, they just stared at each other transfixed, and then their souls became intertwined like some sort of beautiful amorous lock. The air around them felt electric, and they both knew that their futures were locked together from this moment on. Time around them stood still as they kept on talking for hours late into the night, sharing memories of their time apart and laughing like old friends. "So let me get this right", Sigyn gently poked his chest, "there was this archangel impersonating you, messing around with everyone, including those flannel wrapped nightmares calling themselves Dean and Sam Winchester, which, ultimately, got you killed?"

"Sorts of", Loki chuckled.

"Well you still look quite attractive for a dead god if I may say so."

He hadn't felt this alive for the last two years, hell not even for the last centuries if he was completely honest. There was something about her that interlinked with the very core of his being, his damned heart, his mischievous soul. They only met hours ago, but it felt like he knew her since the dawn of time, a long lost friend finding her way back into the darkness of his existence. Every glance, every word, every laugh that they shared seemed to ignite a spark of passion in Loki he believed to be long extinct, desperately hoping that he wouldn't misread the signs she was so palpably throwing at him. From her lingering glances, the way she shyly waved strains of her golden hair from her face to her biting her lower lip while trying to cover up the failed attempt to hide her beautiful smile at his jokes. As the night deepened, his blossoming feelings for her began to grow unbearably stronger until he couldn't resist them any longer. Loki leaned forward and finally kissed her. All the sadness and loneliness he piled up exploded into a passion that even surprised him.

Sigyn expected a tender kiss, but she couldn't have been more wrong as his rough lips moved against hers and she felt her body melting into his pullig him closer. His hands moved up and down her body, igniting a fire in her. He tasted of cotton candy and whisky and Sigyn's body and soul trembled as their tongues explored each other, twirling and intertwining in an ever deepening kiss. Perhaps the person who'd had it before had died, and the life of a food critic in Paris was simply too good to disappear. Or perhaps this body was to let, like a cottage in the Lake District. Perhaps the Almighty kept a variety of lives open for anyone who chanced to find himself dead and at loose ends.

This is the happy ending Snape deserves. You can't convince me otherwise :D

The food kink is surreal. I mean it works in the context of the fic. But it's still pretty surreal. It's a crackfic so good that it doesn't even feel like a crackfic anymore.

Rec note - Full disclosure that I am totally biased. Ratatouille is one of my favorite movies of all time and Resonant is one of my favorite fanfic authors of all time. So this is just something I didn't know I needed. This was one of my favorite lockdown/2020 rereads on heavy rotation especially when eating out wasn't allowed.

Crowley of course reminds him of Sirius.

Thomas Jerome Newton is an alien who kidnaps Snape from the Shack after the war. Harry of course goes searching. Turns out this alien was actually visiting earth to find water for his planet which is going through a drought.

The Snarry parts are beautiful <3 Also hot. But you need to get through some intense stuff before the smut.

"Biscuits," Harry reminds him.

"Haven't you outgrown your inner Dickensian orphan?" Snape parries, and summons a tin of biscuits.

It's got a really unique and powerful take on Snape's relationship with his Dad. I feel like most fics focus more on his Mom.

The rowan bursts to life from the chest of a dead man, from the chest of a father, from the chest of a man who believed in love's sacrifice as fiercely as Lily did.

Fics from this author have a general theme around masculinity. This fic has C.astrated Snape. But unlike a lot of fics about that topic this one has a legit happy ending and a really resourceful Slytherin Snape with his canon level of courage. Honestly I felt sorry for the alien who kidnapped Snape in the first place.

I had not anticipated my deathless death would find me a kidnapped castrato in a house by the lake in the dead of winter, debating cosmic pluralism with a being not of this earth.

Rec note - If you wanted something deep/weird that's going to make you feel a ton of emotions this is a great pick! It has a lot of the unique things I have seen in this author's writing - a brilliant 1st person POV, scifi elements, sharp characterizations, sacrifice, poetic prose, magic which is weird/unexplained/scary and a zoom/blur/focus storytelling style that really works. If you want a Halloween scifi vibe crossover read with a happy ending this is it.

This fic is an experience. I mean it. You don't read it! You feel it and live it. Brilliant and spot on characterizations for Jeeves and Bertie.

Glass in hand, I toasted my audience with the exuberance of a condemned man reprieved from the Agathaean gallows. Multi-coloured plaids and ascots and waistcoats galore dotted the room, whetting the sartorial appetite. Most cheering of all, the view was mercifully auntless to the horizon.

Bertie is hiding from his aunt in the safest possible location. Which is a gay bar a public house favoured by the lavender brotherhood. He meets an interesting man there.

Still, the stranger's presence stirred a pang of wariness in my breast. "Bertram," I advised self. "Own up. Admit it's not the whiff of mortician that puts you on your mettle, but the disconcerting garnish of schoolmaster."

Snape of course thinks Bertie is a nitwit! What's Snape doing there anyway? Turns out he is a Time Traveller with a message for somebody there. Message for who?

He rose from his seat – and kept rising, as he was quite a lanky old thing – before weaving toward us through the amorous scrum of twirling gents with a shoulder pat here, a tip of the homburg there, a swapping of familiar smiles and flirtatious words. He was positively twinkling by the time he washed up on our sombre shores, a bespoke-suited Venus on a clamshell of bonhomie.

The one and only Albus Dumbledore! Bespoke-suited Venus on a clamshell of bonhomie needs to be on his business cards!

I am a big fan of how this author writes the AD/SS dynamic here. It's layered and I am super impressed by how they wrote the emotional complexity in a perfect Bertie voice.

Jeeves & Wooster was so totally not my thing when I first read the books. Because of how much I love this fic I finally, finally tried them again. My Man Jeeves. I loved it this time. This fic is a seriously good sneaky sales pitch for the books honestly.

Rec note - I know what you are thinking. Omg I know this author's name. Nope, this fic is going to tenderize my heart. Don't skip the fic because of that! It's pretty different! This fic definitely has a ton of emotional complexity. But it's lighter compared to the other fics from this author. It's a great starter rec to get used to the author's brilliant writing style if you don't read darker fics in general.

Malfoy and Potter are Aurors. Who get along with each other exactly like back at school. Add in mysteries/adventures/Captain Jack Harkness this is sexy, funny and totally chaotic like Torchwood canon.

I am not adding more fic details because a big part of the plot is based on suspense. It's got magic, scifi, snark and chaos on top of a great plot. The perfect fic to finish the list!

So like… Killing Eve ended yesterday alright. And I hate the ending I HATE HATE IT THEY FUCKING KILLED OFF VILLANELLE FOR SHOCK VALUE WTF 😭😭😭 and it was such a terrible death too it’s like… it’s like if in the Hannibal finale instead of falling off the cliff, Jack just randomly shows up when Will and Hannibal are hugging and kills Hannibal, and Will tried to catch him but just misses and Hannibal falls off the cliff and Will is just left there screaming at the edge of the cliff 😭😭😭 That’s literally how the ending went sksksksk the big bads were dead and Villaneve were happie and I thought everything would be fine and then in the last two minutes boom plot twist death 😭😭😭 I didn’t expect this from killing eve and I’m so fucking disappointed :(( they literally spn-ed the finale 😭😭😭

and I saw some snippets from an interview with the head writer and it’s like… she didn’t understand the characters at all??? And she didn’t even seem to understand what SHE wrote cause apparently Eve is happy about Villanelle dying cause she can start a new life and I’m like??? Wtf that’s not what happened???

I wish they just ended the show at season 3 smh :((

It's okie to cry about it..it sure sucks..and they dooo deserve better 🥺🖤🖤 the lovely couple ..the finale moment was just a nightmare Eve saw..but then she wakes up and Villanelle is there sipping coffee by the window looking out the window to their future ☺️ living a life of murder and mayhem out there in cold Alaska..they adopt a doggo and a catto and they live there in a cute cozy self-sustaining cabin in a remote location and nobody ever finds them..other than one kid who they once find out in the cold and then they adopt it and they grow her to be the most ruthless but sweet fighter ever ☺️🖤🖤 that's where they are...🖤🖤🖤

Ok this isnt my usual way of doing things cuz... Well, tbh i dont really care enough to actually make a post bout most things, id just rather reblog shit, but I've now seen several posts comparing the Loki finale with spn's and just... Where?

Spn ended as a show with one of the most hopelessness inducing shit I've ever seen, taking a character thats been consistently seen as at the very least depressed and killing him off with a 'that's what his happy ending looks like' plastered on it, another character who's whole ark was reconciling with himself about who he is only to make him essentially cut half of himself out for a kid and also still be unhappy, and a third who's whole thing was learning what free will is and that he too deserves free will only to have him go back to obeying orders in heaven. It was absolutely against everything the show had portrayed for 15 years, including in the actual season this finale was a part of.

Loki is an on going show (s 2 confirmed), but even if it hadn't been, the shows main narrative themes remained true to the end, Loki did in fact grow as a character, the shows ultimate plot is about free will, tackling also the fact that free will means shit will also happen, its not only roses and happiness and Sylvie stuck to her actual goal and achieved it, aka killing whoever was behing the TVA. Loki's goal throughtout the show wasn't killing the Time keepers, it was having the free will to write his own life story and he's done and doing exactly that, sometimes that means shit happens, no characters died needlessly in my opinion and as I've said, in no way did it go against its own themes that it established initially. Not to mention the fact again that it's ongoing!

Finally to touch on what people are really complaining about (the more vocal post I've seen circulating, I've no doubt some people just genuinely didn't like it and thats fine) which is the Sylvie/Loki thing. Ok lets discuss. Firstly, if it's not ur thing that's entirely fine, its not mine either, but to claim it's a problem for u cuz it's, as Ive seen multiole people say, heteronormative is hella problematic to me since it seems to erase the fact that both characters by their own words are bi/pan. That's shitty. Number 2: 'if Sylvie was male presenting they wouldn't have gone there'... Now while I do think Marvel/Disney wouldnt likely have the balls, I still find issue with this statement since it feels very... Sexist to me. I dunno what exactly about it, but it very much reads like y'all would not complain bout the pairing if Sylvie was male presenting more so than a dig at Marvel/Disney and that is not cool with me. And finally, C the selfcest thing as incest stand-in. Ok so I get that selfcest aint for everyone, which again, fair point if u just dont vibe at all, but the actual issues people seem to have is less with it being selfcest and more that its not mlm, which is highly hypocritical. Now to the people who do just dislike it for being basically incest, ur perogative, ur view , but I'd've hoped that the whole multivers aspect of this show could've made it clearer that while they are variants of each other they are not actually the same person. Also also since the spn parallel is what began this, to the spn fans I ask, how tf can y'all not see this, the multuple versions of Sam and Dean alone should have you realize it's someones history, experience, surroundings, accuaintances that mould a person. We don't even know for sure if they share parents! Its a dif universe they've been born in, oddly enough that means they couldn't be more physically different, even if they may share some personality traits or some history between them. Again, i dont ship it, it feels awkward to me based on their interactions, but that doesnt mean imma say some bullshit bout incest just cuz I dont like the idea. To end I just wanna say I do look forward to season 2, I can't wait to see Mobius and Loki reacquaint now that we have a Mobius that doesnt remember/know Loki it'll be a nice juxtapose to their relation this season (yes i ship it, whatever) and also also wanna see what's gonna happen with Kang overall and with Sylvie. She wasn't having a good time there.

So quick add, I just realised why the comparison fucks with me so much more than other shit and it's cuz it reduces both finales to shipping, thats why it annoys me, it essentially undermines Loki's whole arc and reduces it to shipping and it also undermines just how bad spn ended and why its bad since it also reduces it to a ship. Neither are bad or good because of a ship being canon or not on its own and seeing this comparison makes it seem very much like thats the reason spn ended bad and equally makes Loki ending bad because of course it would if the ship didnt go the way you wanted it. But thats not the way to measure a show like Loki or Spn, or at least def not the only measurement to apply for the end conclusion.

Tagged by the lovely @alwaysnfk <3. I’m waaay late on this, but it looks interesting so I’m still gonna respond lol. (I’m in too many fandoms to name, so I’m just gonna answer some of these for my main 3- Sherlock, spn, and the mcu).

Ship Ask Game

1. First ship: probably OC/some random character. I use to be REALLY into OC stuff when I was like 13, which is ironic because now I despise self inserts and OCs with a passion.

2. First OTP: As far as I can recall, johnlock, but I’ve moved away from that. As far as my earliest OTP that I still support, that would probably be megstiel (Meg/castiel).

3. Current Favourite Ship: I haven’t been active in fandom here lately so I’m not really in the headspace for be shipping anything atm, but the last ships I remember obsessing over before I took my tumblr hiatus were Lokius (Loki/Mobius) and Calthazar (Castiel/Balthazar).

4. Your ship since the first minute: Dashingfrost (Fandral/Loki.) Always knew there was something gay going on between those two. Also frostmaster (grandmaster/Loki) and Lokius. I was shipping those before the show/movie even came out. And I was on the megstiel (Meg/Castiel) train from the first time I saw that tense holy fire situation.

5. Ships you wish had been endgame: Lokius. Hate me if you want but they did have incredible chemistry, and it felt like they could’ve been leading to something. I’m fine with them being friends though, so.. yeah. Uhm…. I deluded myself into believing Loki might go back for the cute flight attendant at the end of the series so I guess Loki/Florence (the cute flight attendant). And it would’ve been super nice if Mary hadn’t died and she and John had gotten to live happily ever after, so Warstan. Also Megstiel cause Cas and Meg deserved to be happy together.

6. Ship you wish was canon: That’s a tough one because most of my ships are so far-fetched they only work in fanfiction. I think Nebuloki (Nebula/Loki) would’ve been very cute. Hanstiel (Hannah/Castiel) had huge potential to play around with gender presentation and vessel changing, plus they were adorable together. Calthazar because Castiel and Balthazar are soulmates if I’ve ever seen them. And I wish they’d confirmed somewhere that Sherlock had some experience with males in his past, just to solidify his non-heterosexuality (so Sherlock/OMC). Also they should’ve confirmed that he and Janine really did like each other (so Janlock).

7. Ship that most of the fandom hates but you love: Adlock all the way. Also Janlock. But you know people only hate these ships because it gets in the way of their gay otp :/. Same goes for Warstan. And that could also apply to Hanstiel. Plus I love Sastiel (Sam/Castiel) and most of the fandom doesn’t like that, so yeah.

8. You don’t even watch the show but you ship it: Aziraphale/Crowley. I don’t even know how tf to spell that lmao but it only takes one glance at a still image to tell that they’re made for each other.

9. Ship you wish had a different storyline: Ummm… Steggy (Steve/Peggy) I guess? I thought they were really cute in the first cap movie, but having him go back in time to be with her in Endgame was just.. stupid. Like she already had her own family and a husband and he probably threw off the timeline by doing that and it was just a cop-out to get rid of his character and, just- ugh. I hated it. She should have just stayed in his past. He had already moved on from her (more or less) so bringing her back in at the last second was just annoying. I could also say megstiel for this one cause they killed Meg off way too early.

10. Favourite ship that’s endgame: Adlock or Pepperony (Pepper/Tony). Even though neither of these ships were technically together in the end per se, they were still together, you know? Both of them are just made for each other. I love that Pepper and Tony got to have a family for a little while, and I love that Sherlock and Irene didn’t end up being a typical cookie cutter relationship. Cause that wouldn’t have fit them. I think the long distance clandestine “meetings in High Wycombe” route was perfect for them.

11. Ship you initially didn’t think you would get into: I hated most of my ships in the beginning lol. Like I said, I was a hardcore johnlocker in the very begging so naturally I hated Irene. I wanted Castiel to be asexual really bad so I initially didn’t like Meg either. And most of my marvel ships are products of prolonged exposure lmao.

12. Ship you lost interest in: Johnlock. Originally when I first watched the show, I thought it was so obvious that they were in love and it was a total ripoff that it wasn’t made canon, but over time I started to realise how unhealthy and problematic and unnecessary that whole ship was, and how they’re genuinely only interested in each other as friends, so I’m not into it anymore.

When I got the news, I could not wait for your letter back, so I started this one. My parents are from Asgard. The kingdom’s archives pointed me in the direction of a man and woman named Kerrug and Alvia. They had a baby, me. They left for a dangerous mission on Vanheim, entrusting me into Queen Frigga’s care. Kerrug, my birth father, was Odin’s General in his armies. My mother, Alvia, led the women warriors. Only, they never returned from their fight. The Queen thought I would be safer if I wasn’t tied to Asgard, and so she sent me to Earth where my family’s enemies might not look for me. 

I was only in Frigga’s care for a few years. I aged to roughly three years in Earth years before they sent me down. I was raised with Loki and Thor. When I was sent to earth, they mortalized me and Frigga took my memories so I didn’t wonder about my past. I lost my strength, my power, my identity. When I returned to Asgard, I could feel myself getting stronger, almost as if being fed for the first time in weeks. My muscles felt powerful, my magic felt raw. 

That song, that I used to hum, the one you always asked where I knew it from? It came from Queen Frigga. She used to sing to me every night. Technically, I should be the same age as Thor and Loki, we were born only two years apart. But because I was sent to Earth and stripped of my god-like powers, I aged like a mortal, because now I was one. 

So that's the mystery. That’s why Thor could see an aura around me, why I could see Loki the night at the crate, why I loved Norse Mythology… All of it. It’s all explained now. 

But now… I’m faced with a choice -- to come back to Earth, or to stay on Asgard. 

I am learning so much here. Even Odin seems to enjoy my company now. I know it’s only been a month and a half, but I feel a real connection here. Thor is delightful and helpful. Frigga says I’m blending in very nicely with the family. Loki and I grow closer every day. 

Frigga returned the memories she had blocked from me, and I remember some of my time with them. Not much, but I do remember playing and frolocking with both boys, I remember being very close to Loki.

In fact, he asked me just the other night to go swimming with him. He said he seldom swims, for usually Thor’s friends tease him about his lean build. But he thought that if we went late enough, we would be alone. He wanted to show me the Palace Pool, and it was amazing. Fire lit the sides of the pool so it wasn’t dark for us. The night sky was brilliant with stars. We splashed, we laughed, we talked about deep things. 

If I didn’t know any better, Shannon, I’d say I was falling for him. But that’s crazy, right? He’s a Prince. I’m just a girl from Earth… We’ve only known each other less than two months… But I can’t help it. When I’m not with him, I feel homesick. When I’m with him, I feel as though I can conquer the world. I’m nearly drunk on him, sis. 

But it’s just a dream. He can’t feel the same about me… So I’ll keep this little crush between you and me. 

It is good to hear about Diane and Tom! They deserve a vacation. I am sorry I’ve made them and you worry, but trust me, I am happy and well. 

Thank you for keeping my location secret. I don’t need anyone prying or thinking we’re crazy. If you could send small packages of PopTarts, I’m sure Thor would be more than grateful, haha. And I’m not surprised the raven is drawn to Bruce, he has a very calm atmosphere. Hehe.

2018 fics, a year in review

i’m a madman, but even my crazy ass probably won’t finish and post another fic in the last 6 hours of 2018, so here are all the fics i posted on ao3 this year, plus some thoughts on each!

Hemlock Honey and Silver

this was my last ever supernatural fandom fic. literally the end of an era for me since i was in the spn fandom for so damn long and wrote so much fic, about two-thirds of which has been orphaned on the archive at this point because i didn’t like the stories anymore lol. 

i do like that one, though, and i’m actually alright with it being my last ever spn/destiel fic

Fire In Your Veins

this was my first time posting thorki fic! i was so, so nervous about it, but everyone in this fandom is so chill and lovely. i still like this one, and i don’t think i write enough 69ing lmao. also this fic was obvs the start of something bigger bc. i mean. i’ve written so much damn fic now lol since i only started posting in june. i was worried that i wasn’t going to be writing anymore, or that i’d never be posting on ao3 again because it had been literally 2 full years between hemlock honey and silver and the fic that preceded it. then i fell into thorki and i started writing fic and it’s just been such a huge, huge thing. bc i’m also writing original stuff again for the first time in forever.

Underdressed and All Out of Time

a direct sequel to fire in your veins, i really like it. i felt like i was able to characterize loki fairly well in this one bc i was very insecure about the way i wrote loki when i started out

A Thousand Teeth, Yours Among Them

who doesn’t love a fic title from a hozier song? i remember writing this fic and wondering if it was any good and if my characterization was okay and still being nervous and insecure in my writing, but it’s been very well received so i kinda got my inner critic to stfu which is nice lol. i also really enjoyed doing this vignette style story

To Always Face the Sun

what if :) loki was happy :) and thor had his brother back :) lol i really liked writing this and having loki being such a little shit tbh. can we tell that i like a happy ending in fic?

Blue On Gold

so i wrote an arranged marriage fic where they never actually get married and it’s still 15.8k lmfao. also the return of the vignette style, which was fun bc i got to do short, impactful scenes and build the narrative with them. i remember sitting at my desk at work, on my phone, writing this fic, then coming home and editing on a damn tablet bc my laptop bricked earlier this year

the warmth of your doorway

i meant to capitalize the title but at this point i’ve decided to leave it lol. i really loved writing this bc i felt very confident in the way i was building the scenes and the detail i was able to incorporate. i feel like this is where i really kinda go my voice back and i start to come into my own, if that makes sense? one of my fave fics i’ve ever written tbh. there’s a longer ‘verse for this, but after i finished this fic i got too distracted by new projects to try and continue it lol

Tell Me

this was my first trans!loki fic and he’s a trans man, and god i love it. i’ve got another ftm loki story as a WIP in my gdocs bc this story showed me how much i fucking love writing trans characters, and i really enjoyed the dynamic i put into this fic. there’s a sequel planned lol it’s gonna be dirty

so this is not the first thorki fic i ever posted, of course, however it is the first i ever started writing. i got to the point where loki’s in thor’s lap and then i kinda blanked out and let the fic sit for like... 2 or 3 months? then i opened it back up and i was like “oh i like this i should finish this” which is why i don’t delete anything anymore bc there’s always a chance i’ll come back to it

i started doing fluffy thorki sunday back when i was on bourbonbucky and i continued it here, and i’m proud that i’ve written at least 1 piece for fluffy thorki sunday every sunday since i started. i love doing fluff and smut, and honestly even when my mood has been shit, i’ve always felt motivated to try and improve it at least enough to write some nice fluff. i put all of these on ao3 once i moved blogs

this is another fic we owe to discord lmao. i remember posting this when i was either very drunk or very tired and having to keep going onto ao3 on my damn phone browser to correct minor shit, and some not so minor shit like a typo in the title bc at first it said “distrupt” and that’s why i only post when i’m awake and sober now lmfao

On the Other Side Like Always

i have a lot of feelings about this fic. there’s an entire future in this ‘verse that i would so love to write, but i’m stuck on where to go with it. as it stands i am satisfied with this as a story of thor and loki coming together, and a story about how loki does something out of desperation but is finally given something genuine and comforting in his life like he’s always deserved. THERE’S ART from the wondrous @boltplumart / @mrhiddles bc allie is perfect :]

Runaway

when i tell y’all i’m a trash gremlin king. i do have a thing for writing underage characters with adults (probs due to messy personal history lmfao ain’t gonna look at that too closely) and so writing this one was a fun little bit of self indulgence. also it’s dirty and really plays into codependency, which i always like writing bc it’s a fun thing to explore in fiction

Sunset Rhapsody

this fic. was supposed to be. two thousand words. at most. then thor smiled at me, as the writer, and was like “i want to own him” and we ended up with 11k of thor’s obsessive bs and loki being brutal. joking aside, i love this fic, i love what i did with it, i have an original story i wanna write for my size kink anthology that will follow a similar thread to this one. also that torture scene. i don’t recall if i ever properly wrote torture before, but this did kinda make me squirm a bit when i was writing it and if you’ve read it you know precisely which scene i’m talking about lmfao

Right to Guard

this fic was honestly very emotionally satisfying for me in a pretty visceral way. writing thor just surrendering to love and spoiling the fuck out of loki was pretty damn cathartic. 

A Bite of Lamb

me making sure i never lose my title as a trash gremlin king. honestly writing thor’s POV in this fic was like >.> at myself a couple times bc it felt distinctly dark in a way i’d never written another character. a very, very unhealthy kind of obsession and this twisted logic where he’s trying to make it all okay. i really fucking love this damn fic tho and i’m happy with how it came out. 

Seamless

i was so, so frustrated and pissed off at work that i needed to let that shit out, so that was channeled into this very guilt-ridden turned tender fic, and i really enjoyed writing it. loved writing thor taking care of his baby sister. also! KOT IS FUCKING AMAZING and drew this bc they’re such a good fucking person ;A; like they sent me a message and just said “really liked this scene” and i was D Y I N G and i still am. thank you again, kot!

The Way A Rose Blooms

this was written for the thorki secret santa exchange! i drew @chickcheney and honestly the list of prompts was so, so good. bottom thor, arranged marriage, semi-public sex and trying not to be caught, body worship. i was like “damn did i draw myself wtf” bc that is all up my alley. 

Sugar Cookie

i honestly could not think of a better fic to finish off 2018 for me than sugar cookie. porn and emotions that’s all this is, but it features loki as a trans woman being loved and appreciated as she is with nothing extra expected of her and it was so satisfying to write. it makes me want to write original romance with trans women, which i’ll definitely do bc i loved writing this hungry and tender story and i’m very happy with how i ended it.

INFINITY WAR/AVENGERS 4 THEORY + ALL MY RANTS (SPOILERS)

because you know what? i’m not done.

i’ve come up with a theory, if only just to comfort myself. also, i’m still kinda unhappy over some things. (although this movie is really good, so please don’t judge the film too harshly based on other spoilers you’ve read. give it a chance and watch it before you form opinions please? :D )

like, i’m not gonna censor myself. i’m just gonna rant. so you have been warned.

LAST CHANCE FOR NO SPOILERS. WE COOL? OK.

just wanna say right off the bat, i’m not a comic fan. i’ve never read the comics. i don’t know shit about the comics. so all of this may come off as really stupid to comic fans, and for that, i apologise.

(also, after typing this all up, i’m realising just how negative i seem to come off this entire post? like, there were flaws, don’t get me wrong, i pointed out stuff i didn’t like, but overall this movie was really good. i fucking loved this movie. i went into the theatres really worried because there were so many characters and i was scared that it was gonna become real messy real quick and the plot would kinda be all over the place and overstuffed, but it actually worked out quite well in the end. there was a lot of humour and that’s great, because who isn’t up for humour? and it got real emotional and heartbreaking, and that was done really well so i applaud. i really do recommend going to watch this movie, because like seriously, it’s fucking good. went out of the cinemas and nearly walked straight back in to see it again)

now, theory first!

alright, so we remember how red skull ‘died’ right? he was holding the space stone, and as he’s holding it he starts to kinda ash away before he gets beamed up into space.

remember who else gets ashed?

just about everybody in the fucking movie (still not over that. god. i started fucking bawling my eyes out. was not very dignifying)

but yes, i think that they didn’t actually die? instead, they actually got transported to another universe like the red skull was? (or even better, their souls got sent to another universe, because after further research, that’s apparently what the soul stone does? and anyway, none of them got physically beamed somewhere like the red skull did. they all just faded to ash. i noticed that when wanda got ashed though, her entire being seemed to go grey for a brief couple of seconds before she turned to ash, and that kinda strikes me as what would happen if you lost the very essence of yourself? like your soul? so yeah, space stone beamed the red skull to a different universe physically, but the soul stone beamed them to a different universe…spiritually (also, i’m making this edit at 3 am in the morning so excuse if it’s just really incoherent)) because it didn’t escape anybody’s notice that none of the original avengers died right? only all the new heroes with confirmed sequels and shit did? 

so i think they’re actually safe but just in a different place for now. and then all the original avengers, in the next movie are gonna do some shit and sacrifice themselves to save everybody who got ashed. 

cus like, i refuse to believe they are permanently dead. i mean, c’mon. t’challa? the king of wakanda who’s arc only just got started? peter parker? when spiderman homecoming 2 has already been confirmed and is gonna start shooting soon? bucky? who’s had the whole white wolf thing/taking over the mantle as cap teased but neither were acted upon? fucking bullshit i tell you. didn’t stop me from fucking bawling my eyes out in the cinema. jfc i started crying like halfway thru the movie at gamora, escalated at bucky and then just curled into myself and died a little when peter clung on to tony. so yeah.

also i feel like they didn’t need to make the red skull come back and become the guardian of the soul stone. he wasn’t important, and was only there to give a bit of context into how to retrieve the soul stone. they could’ve easily just put a faceless character and have them do the exact same job and it would’ve made exactly zero change to the plot. so if the red skull is back, they must’ve done it for a reason. and that reason, i think, is the one i’ve been explaining above; to possibly show that being ashed isn’t gonna kill you, but instead transport you elsewhere. (also, yo, did anybody get dementor vibes when the red skull first appeared on screen?)

maybe this theory is just me being in denial over my favourites being killed god.

now onto my rants.

i thinkl loki and gamora are permanently dead. not happy about either deaths. loki’s was just…it’s just bullshit? he’s been killed and revived so many times that the emotional value of it is just not there anymore. and also, i don’t belive loki is stupid enough to go at thanos and pull a fucking pocketknife on him like, what’s that gonna do mate? and i feel loki, if he had a death scene, definitely deserved better than that. i feel like his arc kinda just got started, so him being killed off is kinda. urgh. so i’m pretty sure that loki’s not dead (cus c’mon), but at the same time if they bring him back it’s gonna be so fucking overplayed it’s gonna be like another episode of supernatural (i still love you spn but actually tho). so basically, marvel’s got themselves in a bit of a dump.

now onto gamora. idk, i’m just really not happy with the way she died? she didn’t deserve to go out like that? i mean, he sees his cause as the greater good, and people sacrifice a lot for their greater good, but still. not cool? i’m upset? gamora deserved so much more than to be tossed off that fuckin cliff? i actually reallyyyyy wanted gamora (or nebula) to be the one to kill thanos. maybe together. cus tbh fuck thanos. he fucked up their lives so hard, and what does gamora get in the end? thrown off a cliff, that’s what.

ALSO, QUILL. WHY. MATE. COULDN’T YOU HAVE DECKED THE SHIT OUT OF THANOS AFTER THEY MANAGED TO PULL OFF THE GAUNTLET??????? THEY WERE THIS. FUCKING. CLOSE. ARGHHHHHH.

also i’m still not over peter and bucky. god. bucky kinda stumbling out of the woods, and that little ‘…steve?’ before he just fucking. crumbles away. i was so fucking. no words. and i already knew peter was gonna die cus of that giRL (if you wanna see THAT rant, click here). but it was actually still so fucking heartbreaking? ‘…i don’t feel so good’ and ‘please, i don’t want to die’ as he just sobs while crumbling to ash in tony’s arms? i started bawling my eyes out (and wow take a shot every time i say that phrase in this post)

ok now onto some other things. i feel like this film sort of rendered most of ragnarok obsolete? like, (and this point was brought up by a friend so shout out to them) weren’t they trying to make it so that thor was less reliant on his weapons and more reliant on his own abilities and powers? and also, asgard. they gave us so much hope for asgard at the end of ragnarok, only to have it dashed apart in the beginning of infinity war. asgard? more like…asGONE. ba dum tss. (shitty joke i know but that’s how i cope). also. where. the fuck. is valkyrie?? i swear to god if she’s dead imma cut a bitch. 

also, i’m sort of upsetti clint didn’t show up in this movie. BUT. they mentioned at the beginning of the film that clint was off with scott to do some other shit regarding their families or smthin, which makes me think that maybe, just maybe, clint might actually show up in ant-man and the wasp. so, looking forward to that.

so yes, i feel like i’ve been quite negative throughout this post, so here’s a couple paragraphs dedicated to all the good things about this movie and my experience and why i love it. 

post-credits scene was? like, maria being ashed shook the whole cinema? and nick fury’s being ashed got me upset right up until the point where he swore and that kinda loosened the mood up. he’s so chill about everything i s2g. and that captain marvel insignia drop at the end was amazing. had the whole theatre shook. so yes, good post-credits scene.

they did emotions really well? especially in the last 20 mins, when everybody is being ashed, like, i cried. a lot. some of the emotions just came so clearly across the screen, and you could really feel what the characters themselves were feeling at the moment. some of the scenes were truly heartbreaking and beautiful (JUST, QUICK BREAK TO GIVE A SHOUTOUT TO TOM HOLLAND FOR HIS AMAZING PERFORMANCE? THANK YOU.)

the humour in this movie is fucking outstanding, but they never got in the way of the emotional scenes. the jokes were hilarious, and didn’t feel shoehorned in. they had the cinema rolling, and honestly, it was great. also, can i just say that quill being jealous of thor’s masculinity is fucking hilarious. and dr strange and tony going at it and trying to beat each other in who’s the most arrogant and all-knowing was fucking amazing, so kudos. anD ALSO. BRUCE AND HULK? FUCKING AMAZING. LOVED THEIR INTERACTIONS TBH. i would quote lines right now but i’m kinda fuzzy about them and i hate nothing more than misquoting so.

also. THOR. THOR. HIS ENTRANCE INTO WAKANDA IS SO FUCKING BADASS AND I HAVEN’T STOPPED SCREAMING ABOUT IT? IT’S SO BLOODY COOL, HOW HE JUST SWOOPS IN ALL DRAMATIC AND SHIT WITH HIS NEW AXE AND LIGHTNING AND JFALKGJRIOA yeah that was awesome.

i feel like i haven’t ever seen a movie with the audience as engaged as they were today. like, when certain characters showed up on screen the audience lost their shit and started whooping and clapping and shit. and when tony got stabbed i s2g the entire cinema just. stopped breathing. so yeah, good experience, fun times, loved it, really got me in the mood tbh.

i think i just about covered everything i wanted to say in this post? (and wow, this is a real bit of a giant brain dump. i just started typing anything that came to mind) maybe i’ll add to it if i think of anymore things, because i still feel like i have more to say even though i can’t really say anything right now. if any of you wanna talk, just message me and i’m up to listen lol.

Supernatural Season 14 Wishlist

It's getting close to season 14. Not close enough, unfortunately but we're getting there. So here's some thoughts on things I would like to see in this upcoming season. Keep in mind when reading this, I don't really watch the panels where they hint at what's going to happen or hang out in the spoilers section of the fandom community. I like to go into the season blind for the most part. So if you know any of these aren't going to come true, keep it to yourself. Let this small time blogger dream, okay.

1) Obviously my SPN Season 14 Theory 1. I really want that to come true. I feel like most of my SPN followers found me through that post but if there are some of you out there who don't know what I'm talking about, I'll give you the cliff notes version.

Basically, I want a flashback of the moment Dean said yes to Michael. But before he gives the ok for Michael to jump his meat suit, he embraces Cas and whispers to Cas, "Yes." Meaning he's giving Cas permission to possess him if Michael takes complete control and refuses to leave Dean. Then we have episodes where Cas possesses Dean and within the confines of Dean's body, helps him boot Michael out. This could take a few episodes though as in order to do this, they need to catch Michael and subdue him in some way so once Cas gets to Dean, Michael won't destroy Cas immediately upon entrance.

2) Moments with my brotp, Sam and Cas. They have such a fun friendship, Jared and Misha have such fun chemistry, it completely boggles my mind why the show doesn't play into it more.

3) An Adventure with Castiel. You know how the show kind of explains episodes Misha isn't in? It's usually, "Cas is on a mission." It would be fun to actually see an episode of a day in the life of Cas. To go with him on one of these missions. Like, his trip to Syria sounded so amazing. I don't understand why the show chose to skip the Syria trip and instead show us their rendition of the Godfather with Sam and Dean. Watching Cas's Excellent Adventure in Syria sounded way more fun.

4) It would be great to have scenes with Dean and Cas that lasts more than 30 seconds.

5) More of the Sam and Rowena dynamic. These two and their relationship with each other is so fucking interesting. Seriously. I need more of these two.

6) I want to see more of Jessica The Reaper. It could be really cool if it was revealed that she was actually Sam's Jessica.

7) More of Billie as death. I love Billie, plain and simple and I want more of her.

8) Obviously, Wayward Sisters. I want to see my girls again. I want to know what's going on with au!Kaia. I also want more scenes of Cas and Claire interacting. I really enjoyed those two in season 10. I personally believe that Cas's endgame is a human endgame but another part of me likes this idea of Cas watching over the Novak family for generations to come as part of the promise he made to Jimmy.

9) Father-Son moments between Cas and Jack. You know, considering Jack essentially "chose" Cas to be his father, it's surprising they didn't have too much of a relationship in Season 13. They had some stuff and it was good stuff but I'd like to see more.

10) Gabriel not be dead. I mean, come on. How bad was that story arc last season? It had its good moments i.e. the Loki stuff but it was such a half-assed and rushed redemption arc that really just made all the hoops the writers had to jump through to get him back feel kind of pointless. Although the scene with Gabriel and Rowena was pretty funny.

11) See more of Ketch. I'm not that happy he got a redemption arc, he definitely didn't deserve one, but whatever. He was given one and it was poorly done but it happened. Let's see more of him in his redemption to change my feelings on him in season 13.

12) These AU characters become their own individuals. If you want my honest opinion, I didn't want these AU characters to cross over into the main SPN universe. But now that they're here, I want them to be their own characters and not be used as a cheap ploy to have the old characters back.

13) Some resolution on the angels plotline. The season was coming to a close and this plot just kind of stopped.

14) For Chucks sake, get Adam out of hell. Hilly and Hannah did it, why can't these writers? Poor Adam has been trapped there long enough. It could be cool to have a Michael vs Michael showdown.

15) Hilly and Hannah from the The Hillywood Show should totally make a guest appearance. Even if it's just a cameo.

16) I'm super happy Lucifer is dead. He's long out stayed his welcome. Please, Andrew Dabb, reign in Bucklemming. Do not let them give Lucifer a redemption arc. It's too late at this point. But with that said, I do enjoy Mark Pellegrino as an actor so I wouldn't mind seeing him back on the show.

I think that's all I've got for right now. I'm sure I'll add on later as I think up more stuff. Plus, the season 13 DVD will be dropping next week so I'll definitely re-watch the season then and maybe it'll give me more ideas.

Summary: Two years ago, Gabriel thought he killed the trickster, but Loki tricked him. He faked his own death, laying low and moving from place to place, always on the run, pondering over all he had lost.

The never ending rhythm of gritty 70s rock songs resonated from the antique jukebox in the corner of the bar, filling the heavy smoky air and mingling with steady bustle of the people around. The sound of colliding balls from the pool table as well as hearty laughter occasionally interrupted the mesmerising chime. It was one of those rundown trucker bars at the side of an old country road, a nondescript sanctum in the middle of nowhere for the tired and the lost, needing to halt and rethink the next steps of their way. It has become the perfect place for him to blend in as he never felt this lost before. He lived through thousands of years, scattering joy, pain and, more often than not, anger anywhere he passed through. No matter the obstacles, he always managed to wiggle himself out of every problem, always coming out on top despite the odds. Some deeply buried thought in the back of his being would still claim that, despite loosing everyone that was dear to him before being forced to fake his own demise, he still prevailed, having the whip hand once again. However, those last two years laying low and on the run, all alone with not one soul to confide in, weighed heavier than the thousands before then. What once was a proud god sparkling with wit withered away and became the broken shadow that slumped on the bar stool at the counter, glumly emptying the whiskey filled glass. He pushed the glass towards the bartender, tapping on it. He lost count of the amount of drinks he guzzled, surrendering to the relieving buzz of the alcohol hushing his thoughts into a sweet numb nothingness.

"Whiskey, double"

The husky voice next to him made him look up. He blinked a few times in disbelief, the stool on his left was now occupied by the most captivating creature he ever laid eyes on. It wasn't so much her soft glowing porcelain skin, the piercing blue ocean-strong eyes or the crimson plush lips. She had this presence filling the room unperceivedly and yet impossible to ignore. Her glance wandered to him, her lips forming a smirk as she raised her glass. A cocky smile spread on his face, nodding at her while his mind was running wild, desperately trying to apprehend the situation unfolding. For two years, regardless of the town he lingered in, his evenings acted out the same and the upshot always was him passed out on the floor, drooling and snoring until the sleep remedied the copious amounts of alcohol. Groundhog day for a disgraced god on the run. Would he still believe in destiny or miracles that once worked in his favour, he'd describe the very essence of this moment as a marvel fated to be, though he lost his belief despite being a god himself.

"I've wandered for eons, crossed many roads and dwelled in many places such as this", the raspy tone of her voice anchored deep in his soul, "but I've never seen one like you on my travels."

"One like me?", he speired, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh you know", she chuckled, "the unsupicious one that silently screams mischief."

His heart skipped at a few beats at the way she stressed out the last word. Could she know who he was? Was he in danger? Would this be his end? He might have been drinking himself into a coma for the last two years but he meticulously erased his tracks and always kept his true nature hidden.

"Who are you?", he sounded almost harsh, trying to conceal the sudden fear rising in his chest.

"They call me Sigyn", she turned around facing him now, leaning in closer, "and what about you? May I get to know a handsome stranger's name?"

For a moment he thought he spotted an emerald unnatural glow in her eyes. He swallowed a lump he didn't realise that was clawing to his throat. Could she be a deity like him? Her name almost sounded Norse even though he couldn't recall ever hearing it, not even in the old days when humans still worshiped him. A sudden notion formed in his mind, unfolding the many prospects of all possible futures arising from this intriguing encounter. The glorious rush of his old self's discernment filled him, scheming, recounting all the potential escapes, readying himself for anything and everything.

"You can call me Loki", he brought his face closer to hers, the tip of his nose almost brushing hers as he wiggled his eyebrows mischievously at her.

Sigyn chuckled, leaning back, holding her glass up to him before emptying at one gulp and putting it back on the counter.

"Well, Loki", he almost groaned excitedly at the way she exaggeratedly rounded the L of his name, "we should go somewhere more private", she got up from the stool, laid her hand on his shoulder and leaned in closer whispering in his ear, "we seem to be the last of our pantheon and I would love to get to know you a bit better, now that I'm not the last one anymore."

Loki jumped up, grabbed her hand and pecked the backside of it.

"Follow me lady Sigyn", he escorted her through the entrance of bar into the bright starry night, "I get the feeling we have much to discuss."

They both disappeared within a faint green mist which quickly dissolved with a breeze meandering in the dark, leaving no trace of the two gods.

1 Witch antagonist! ok but I feel like Patrick is such a good case study in a complex but fun villain that is sympathetic, but still clearly the villain! Like it’s very clear he has a moral code(He’ll play some people, he won’t others, he wants an Actual Game, but for what? isn’t it implied he’s in control at all times?) but we’re never actually told what it is, or how it works. Like he’s good at reading people(makes sense he’d pick poker), he clearly wants connection(he wanted the lady witch with him? he doesn’t want to be alone? He clearly knows about the people he’s playing(mentioned the bar mitzvah)(Although was that for Sam’s benefit? did he know that before)) Like we don’t know SHIT about his tragic backstory, but he’s interesting and compelling enough that it literally doesn’t fucking matter. This episode is great, it gives me brainworms, I wanna watch it again

2 lady witch! Ok but…the entire plot was driven by her! She wanted the magic gone due to her own selfish reasons, but it was also like…painted as the objectively right thing to do! all she wanted was not to be immortal anymore, but she didn’t wan to take a central role? The locket makes you think that she’s got some kind of control she’s under(especially coupled with a semi ironic “I look good for my age”), but no, it’s he daughter she had to bury, which would probably fuck up any parent. Like would it be nice to have a name? yes! but she was still cool!!

3 DEAN!! MOTHERFUCKER ACTUALLY COMMUNICATED! Like he clearly understood Bobby’s shit even before, he sat down and he actually tried to feeling! He clearly was super uncomfy with it, but he knew someone had to say it and since no one else was going to, he ended up being the emotionally mature one and! it was great to see!! Was he terrible? YES! it was a godawful apology but Bobby saw what he was trying to say and that seemed to matter to him. plus his lil heel click was absolutely adorable, he was very happy to be younger again. Actually, speaking of, him being old was so fucking funny

4 sam the witch?? Ok listen…they clearly set it up that Sam did Something to win. And we know he has psychic powers, so I assume he outwitched them. He threw his own powers in the ring, and since he’s the antichrist, they worked. It was a subtle use of power, and that’s the head canon I’m going with ok(they clearly set up that he’s emotional, and while him not being read I think is meant to be as like…he ends up being Really Good at Poker cuz he’s a Man, I think it’s more he scrambled Patrick a little bit, due to the powers I swear it would be so good)

like the whole thing about him just being Innately the Hero was annoying, but this lil subtle thing? good! good! I like that!

7 look the lore of this was fun, the villain was fun(patrick and Dean gave me Dean and Tony vibes a lil, I thought that was neat), the imagery was top notch(occult and fire in an alley? good shit), and him being old was SO FUCKING FUNNY “when you get to be our age” “you’re 30 Dean”

Shannon, you won't believe this. Life on Asgard is as magical as it gets. By day, I'm helping teams of scientists build structures, discover new ways to work with elements, and build gadgets. I have started working on plans for a small rocket ship for them. By night, I'm training with Thor.

It's fantastic, I'm getting so good now I actually pinned Volstagg and Fandral. I still need to conquer Sif, Hogun, and Thor. When I'm not working or training physically, Frigga is teaching me how to be a princess. She teaches me the ways of the royalty. How to hold my head, how to eat, how to dance.

And if I'm not doing any of that, Loki is showing me magic and telling me about their customs. He is incredibly sweet despite my first impression of him. He asks me every day how I'm doing and if I need help with anything or need help adjusting. If I make a social faux pas, he merely corrects me quietly and apologizes for me.

He's... he's amazing, Shannon. He loves listening to me talk about my work, and asks me questions about it all the time. Just as I ask him nonstop questions about his life and his magic.

And ha-ha. It isn't like that. So he's handsome, and kind, and hilarious, and a genius. He knows so much poetry. Their poetry here is astonishing. It rivals Frost and Shakespeare. He loves showing me new books every day.

Thor is focusing on building my muscle and physical ability while Loki has said, "Your mind is your best weapon. You don't possess the braun that Thor and Volstagg do, so it's best you learn how to outwit your opponent." So he's teaching me ways to be tricky and clever.

I would love to see me duel you with a sword. It could either be hilarious or catastrophic, haha. A new training room... Hmm, that's curious. I wonder what it's for.

And do not worry about me, sis. I'm doing just fine. None of the royal family would let anything happen to me.

Speaking of family, how are Tom and Diane? Have you talked to your parents lately? Is anything new with them? Have you told anyone where I've gone?

I shall try to check on the PopTarts, haha. I'm not sure Heimdall can just open the bifrost for some breakfast pastries though. We'll see....

No news on my parents just yet. I will let you know if we hear something more.

You make me blush! If he knew the tricks you have up your sleeve he wouldn’t dare cross you. I’ll let him know. As happy as everything is, there’s been some rough patches with Shield lately but that was eventually going to happen. There's been some changes to what's going on here at the tower.

It's good to hear about everything that's going on over there, you'll become a legend when you finish with the rocket and have won a fight against Sif or Thor.

Princess Y/N, I like the sound of that. Maybe when you come back you’ll be Queen Y/N. Very kind of Queen Frigga to show you their customs.

Loki seems like a kind and curious man. I hope to soon meet him. And I look forward to seeing that selfie if you and him together. It's true what he says your mind has always been your greatest weapon, no need for swordsmanship or magic just 100% Y/N smarts.

It would probably be a mix of catastrophe and hilarity. I can't wait to see you! Do you know how much more you might be gone?  

I would hope that they do keep you out of harm's way. I would never forgive them or myself.

They’re doing great. They do so terribly miss you as they haven't seen you since before you left for Asgard. Turns out they’re planning to go cruising through Europe which is a nice change to being in Nevada all the time. They were worried that something might happen to you being in a whole new universe. But after hearing from you through my letters they are less stressed out.

The only people who know of your whereabouts are Tony, our family and myself. We’ve tried to keep things quiet for the most part.

On the pop tart agenda I could send a small pack with each letter and of different flavors so he can have a pick of one. I doubt the poor raven would be able to carry a ton of stuff.

Speaking of raven, it seems to like roaming near Bruce. It’s been perching nearby watching him look through his notes or even just doing some meditation. He’s gotten me into the habit of drinking tea lately I don't crave the energy from coffee like I used to.

Part 61 of Unforseen Chasm

Prompt: Two sisters fall for men that are absolute enemies. The love they have could tear all of them apart, or it could bring them together. All of you returned back to the compound. A new wave of absolute devastation had settled over the lot of people. Before there was some iota of hope, something to grab onto. Perhaps you could kill Thanos, threaten him to give the stones up, use them to bring everyone back -- something, anything…

Now… now there was nothing. 

Shannon was still tending to a weak Tony. Bruce was tending to Shannon. Nat and Steve saw to each other. Rhodey and Nebula seemed to click. Carol and Thor became friends it seemed. She said she’d rest up for another couple of days before leaving. You wanted to get to know her further, she seemed great, but what would be the point? She would leave too. 

It was clear to you that you were neither wanted nor needed by anyone. You were just the fuck up that let Thanos go, there was no use for you to stay here. You’d only be in the way of everyone’s happiness. You knew your mourning wouldn’t let up any time soon, and being surrounded by this love… this camaraderie… something about it made the pain hurt all that worse.

Midnight was fast approaching. You thought it best to sweep out when no one was looking, as to not raise questions or suspicion. You could be seven hours away, long gone by the time anyone got up. 

You packed your things quickly. You didn’t have much at the compound, just a few outfits. Most of your things were actually back at your apartment.

Your apartment…

Dread seeped its way into your chest. Your apartment that held so many memories of Loki… Could you go there? Could you face that? 

You had to. You had no choice. You needed clothes. Pictures. Money. You had to swallow this pain if you were going to get past it. You shook the thoughts from your mind and focused, throwing your things into a duffel bag. You threw it over your shoulder to take it to the elevator so that you could just grab it all at once on the go. You also needed to borrow another bag from the storage closet. 

Unfortunately, on your way to the elevator, Shannon was headed your way. 

“Oh, hey, you going somewhere?” she asked, eyeing you up and down as you placed your bag on the floor.

“Oh, uh, just… you know gonna swing by the old apartment,” you stated casually. This wasn’t a lie. You were going back there. 

“Right. Yeah. So I’ll see you in the morning?” 

“Maybe a little later,” you said, trying to steer away from lying, or telling the truth. “What are you doing up so late? Aren’t you supposed to be watching Tony?” 

“Oh, he wanted some water and ice cream. So I’m kind of spoiling him. I can’t help it.” 

You smiled at her, reaching up to squeeze her shoulder. “You shouldn’t feel bad. You two deserve some time together. The last few weeks have been hell, for all of us. If you two can find some slice of happiness, then fucking grab it and don’t let go.” 

She returned your smile, nodding. “Thanks, Y/N/N. I appreciate that.”

“I’ll always support your happiness, Shan. Always.” 

“I know.” 

The two of you grinned once more before she headed behind you towards the kitchen and you went behind her back towards your room to finish packing. As soon as you knew the coast was clear, you grabbed your second bag, snuck out into the hall, picked up your second bag and fled to your apartment. From there, you tried to focus on your mission. You grabbed the clothes you could, picked out a few meaningful mementos and pictures, and finally, you stepped out of your apartment and locked it behind you.

The following morning, Shannon went into your room to say good morning and to check on you, but all she found was a note. On it, was simply scribbled, “Goodbye - Y/N.” Shannon’s hand flew to her mouth before tears invaded her vision. 

She had no idea what to do. She couldn’t leave Tony. 

“TADASHI, can you alert Steve to come to Tony’s room please?” she requested before bolting out of the room back to their bedroom. “Tony, Y/N... she’s gone.” 

“Gone? Like?” 

“Like all of her stuff is gone and she left a note that says ‘goodbye’ on it.” She thrust it at him. She tried calling your phone in a frenzy but it just went to voicemail. “TADASHI, where is her cell phone?” 

“Appears to be at her apartment, Miss Shannon.” 

The next second, Steve was in the room. “Shan? You called for me, doll?” 

“Can you go to Y/N’s apartment? I need to know if she’s there.” 

“Sure. Is everything alright?” he asked, appearing concerned.

“I don’t know. Please check. I can’t leave Tony.”

He nodded. “Yeah, of course. I’ll go and let you know what I find.” 

With that, he took off and Shannon paced relentlessly while Tony tried to calm her nerves. 

Steve got to your door, where he found an envelope, addressed to Shannon. Inside, was another simple note. It only said: I’m sorry, Shannon. I love you. Goodbye. Have a good life -- Y/N.” 

Steve called Shannon and sighed. “Hey, doll, I found something, but I don’t think you’re gonna like it.” 

“Tell me anyway,” she demanded. 

He told her about the note and what he found. He had knocked on the door several times, even listened, but nothing appeared to be moving from inside. 

“I’m sorry but I think she’s really gone.” 

“We have to find her,” she said with a panic, her eyes darting to Tony’s. 

“Hon, hang up the phone,” he gently ordered. 

“I’ll talk to you when you get back here, Steve.” She hung up and took a place next to Tony on the bed where he wrapped her in his arms. “What is it?” she wondered. 

“I love you, you know that? You’re my world. You’re my everything.”

“I know,” she said, a bit confused. 

“So trust me when I say this next thing. You need to leave Y/N/N alone.” 

“What? I can’t do--”

“Shh, shh, listen to me. She lost everything. She lost the love of her life. She needs some time alone. You know it as well as I do.” 

“But should she be alone? She needs to be surrounded by friends and family and--”

“I’m pretty sure Y/N/N knows what she needs right now. And I think you should trust me and her when she feels that leaving like this is what she needs. If you start tracking her and show up and try to drag her back, you’re going to get nothing but opposition.” 

Shannon was quiet. He was right, regrettably. 

“I know it hurts. I know you want to find her. But if she needs to deal with this alone, then hunting her down won’t do anyone any good.” 

Shannon nodded, trying to swallow tears. “You’re right.” 

“You’ll see. In a few weeks, she’ll be back to us.” 

“Yeah… I’m sure you’re right.” She leaned up and kissed her husband, putting faith and hope in him. If he had returned to her, and she had everyone else, you would return to. She had to have faith in that.

Later the next night, Shannon came down with some equipment that made you curious. 

“What’s all this?” you asked, excited to see her. It’d only been one day, but it was too many hours since you’d seen her. 

“A little gift,” she informed with a smile before opening up the cell. She didn’t make you or Loki stand back. Probably because Loki was already in the office, and you were just a few feet from the entrance. 

“Oh?” 

“Mhm.” She sat her things down and began working. She pulled off the control panel on the box near the entrance. 

“You breaking us out?” you asked with a joking laugh. 

“Not just yet,” she replied with a small smile. 

“So… how are you and Tony?” you carefully asked, hoping you weren’t overstepping your bounds. Ironic, seeing as two years ago, you could’ve immediately bombarded her with any questions about Tony and she would’ve obliged. 

She shrugged. “Better… Apparently he didn’t get much sleep while I was gone, but to be fair, neither did I,” she admitted. “It’s hard not sleeping next to him, but sometimes it’s harder knowing he can be such a jackass,” she muttered while she worked. “Does that ever happen with you and Loki?” she wondered. 

At first, for a split second, red flags went off in your head. Why would she be inquiring about you and Loki? Was she trying to divide you two? Was she trying to get you to open up about weaknesses in the relationship? 

But then, you realized, she was just making conversation. She wanted to get to know Loki, and although you weren’t one-hundred percent sure that was the reason, you had vowed to try and trust her back. Trust was a two way street. 

“Uh… I’m not sure. We only fought once while we were on Sanctuary. I was begging him to stop the takeover, but he reminded me that we literally had no choice. If we didn’t do it, Thanos would kill everyone we loved, make us watch, and then kill us.” You toyed with your fingers as she listened patiently. “We did just fight about you though.” 

Shannon frowned slightly and put the cover back on the control panel before going over to another one in the cell, where you followed. You recalled the small argument you two had. Loki was happy that Shannon was back in your life, but of course he was paranoid about it as well.

“Me? Why me?” 

“Loki doesn’t exactly trust you, but I told him he was being ridiculous,” you summed up. 

“Well… he is a trickster, it’s in his nature to think everyone is like him, and that everyone is looking to betray him. From what I read of your letters, it sounds like he had good reason to, too.”

“What do you mean?” you asked, surprised she took his side. 

“Well, he was raised for over a thousand years to believe he was Asgardian, had a shot at the throne, all for it to be one big lie. His father abandoned him, left him to die on a rock… His adoptive father withheld the truth of his true nature and why he took him for his entire life… His friends, who were Thor’s, treated him badly and the second they got a chance to rat on him, they did. Thor’s a good guy and all, but I can see how he treats him differently, not as his equal. You said it yourself that Thor tried to kill the Jotunheims, right?” 

You nodded. 

“And Thor was exiled, then hailed a hero… Loki did the same thing and Odin told him no. I mean, even the attack on New York. Yes, it’s shitty. Yes, you two are basically terrorists… But even then, does that measure up to half the bloodshed Odin and Thor caused?”

All you could do was think. You tried to remain neutral for the last couple of years… but when she put it like that, you really understood Loki’s feelings now. You understood them, and sympathized before, but now… Now it seemed as though it was obvious why he felt the way he did. 

“Not to mention, I am a spy. Loki isn’t stupid. He’s cautious. He calculates everyone’s motives, actions… Nat got the best of him on that helicarrier and I don’t think he liked it.”

A small laugh came tumbling out of your lips. “No, no he didn’t. So you’re not… mad?”

She put the cover on the control panel and picked up an electronic tablet. 

“Mad at a man who felt overlooked his entire life, and then was exploited because of it? Mad at a man who is only looking out for you? Mad at a man that is only trying to make sure you’re not hurt again?” She handed you the tablet. “No, I’m not.”

To hear that somehow made your heart warmer. Maybe there was hope for all of his afterall. You being friends was great, more than you deserved, but if you could get her and Loki to see eye to eye then you’d be on top of the world. 

“What’s this?” you asked. 

“Wow, Asgard really did spoil you,” she teased. “This, is a tablet.”

You rolled your eyes. “I know it’s a tablet, Shan. What is it for? Tony said we couldn’t have internet access.”

She shrugged. “You don’t. This is just a one-way chat and video device for you and me. It only connects to me and my devices. You can’t get out onto the internet with it. Think of it like a walkie-talkie.”

“Oh, wow,” you said, holding it as if it were the Holy Grail. “So I can just… talk to you anytime I want?”

She grinned and nodded. “Mhm. You can reach me in the lab, or while I’m out running errands. I can show you the park. We can text late at night...”

You fought back tears. “Shannon, this is… this is great. Thank you. Some actual contact with the outside world.” 

“Anything I can do to help. You need anything l can get while I'm here?” 

“More clothes?” you asked with a slightly nervous laugh. 

She returned it. “I'll see what I can do. Does Loki want anything in particular?” 

“Other than an all black suit, no. I think some green shirts and jeans will be fine,” you assured with a smile. 

“I’ll work on it. It was good to see you,” she said, nodding at you and smiling. 

“Yeah, you two. Thank you so much for all this. It means a lot.”

With that, she gave you a friendly smile and left.
