Happy Wincest Wednesday!
Question of the week: what scenes in the Supernatural books about each other do you think Dean and/or Sam reread a lot and/or jerked off to?
Happy Wincest Wednesday, @schizosamwincester (several Wednesdays late)!!
Ooh, other people have answered this so well, so I'll try not to repeat those wonderful ideas too much. I love the in-universe book meta as a wincest trope SO MUCH.
Ok, so... I saw people mention Cassie, and the focus on the samulet (💖😳😌) for Sam reading about Dean; and Madison and Ruby for Dean reading about Sam... I love all that shit. I especially love the idea of Dean noticing all the ways Ruby manipulated Sam by emulating Dean... the clothes, the car, the attitude, the "Sammy"s.
And as much as I absolutely love the trope of them reading about each other and unexpectedly realizing their sexual feelings, or wanking to each other's sex scenes, right now what I'm really thinking about is the potential to understand each other better in general. Imagine this happening down the road in the bunker era, well after Charlie brings up the books being on the internet, and neither of them able to resist taking another peek, like tonguing at a wound in your mouth.
I'm thinking about Dean reading Mystery Spot and watching Sam spiral with death after death, and then reading about those extra six months Sam never told him about, where Sam became so much like Dean---practically a prelude to Robo Sam, in Dean's view---and then he reads that convo they had after, where Sam says with Dean going to Hell Sam is going to have to become more like him... and having the context for it now makes Dean's blood run cold---even though it's long over with now. Thinking about how that must've even affected Sam's choices after the fact, and especially after Dean went to Hell.
Or maybe Dean reading Dark Side of the Moon and seeing all the little details he missed while he was living it---how Heaven manipulated them in there, and Sam's devastation when he throws away the amulet. It's not in the book, but now Dean knows Sam must've walked over to that trash can, slow and rejected, and picked up the amulet and kept it. Put it somewhere safe when he jumped into the pit with Lucifer---maybe even wore it. Thinks about how that symbolizes the insane level of devotion Sam has consistently held for Dean, even when he probably didn't deserve it---even when Sam was saying it was different for him.
_
For Sam, let's say he decides to read through the times where he and Dean were apart during the (first) apocalypse---
The time after Sam unknowingly released Lucifer and they broke up--- reading about Dean trying to bro it up with Cas (taking him to a brothel? can't die a virgin?? very nostalgic for Sam! just bro things!!) and seeing how sad it made Dean that Cas didn't measure up to what he was missing---but Sam has to laugh a little, and maybe it's a little bitchy sue him, that it seems it went worse for Cas than it did for teen Sam. And then In The End, seeing what Dean became in that future. Seeing Lucifer kill Dean in his body, and Dean...accepting it. Reading HIS Dean interact with Sam as Lucifer and feeling cold all over in a way he hasn't for years, eyes full of tears, breath catching. Feeling the same elation he'd felt back then when Dean comes back to their time, and instead of giving over to Zachariah's machinations, calling Sam to get back together!
Reading about Dean after Sam jumped into the pit...the way Chuck described Dean as wanting to jump in after him. The way Dean drives to Lisa like he promised Sam...the way Dean goes through the motions, but whenever no one is looking he's drinking and brooding and thinking of Sam---looking anywhere he can think for a way to pull Sam out. (full frontal descriptions that didn't make it to our screen but definitely made it to the unpublished novels: Dean doing his best to live up to his "best night of her life" rep with Lisa, but having performance issues. gets even better at pleasing her to try to zone out, but at least half the time he can't get it up, and when he can, an errant thought will make him think of sam and he'll just hurt. he'll be thrusting into her and notice the utter lack of the amulet that used to swing there and have to close his eyes, flip them over so she's on top and encourage her to ride herself to completion, faking alongside her orgasm before escaping to the shower to have a face-in-the-shower-spray emotional-man-moment. the way throwing himself into the swing and rhythm of suburban life gives him excuses to not have energy for sex, pretending to sleep when lisa rolls over to him. waking up from nightmares with Sam's name on his lips.)
And ever since his fragmented mind became whole again, Sam has remembered most of what he did while he was Soulless, but he doesn't have an eidetic memory, and reading Dean's POV for the elation he feels when he asks that Sam if he's in heaven---the way Dean would've been totally happy to be dead, so long as he was with Sam---god...
And Sam knows there are more times like these he could find if he kept going---kept sifting through their past---but now he just wants to go find his brother in the bunker and hug him and maybe suck him off about it before Dean asks what's wrong...

@emmaklee asked -- What's your favorite wincesty AU? Have you read "The Last Outpost of All That Is"? How about "The Passenger" or "House Song"?
I don't read many AUs! But I guess that depends on your AU -- I like the ones that are a domino effect, where everyone's still mostly recognizable but we're going off on a wild adventure; I do not like and never choose to read the stuff that's, like, "Dean is a rock star and Sam is a nerdy fanboy and they meet and makeout." That's not even SPN fic, it's a J2 AU by a different name. So, with that level setting:
Favorite AU is probably Flying Weight by flesh. I haven't read it in a long time, but it's a wholly believable domino effect off of the s6 vampire ep and the rammies that could've ensued if Dean didn't have surprisingly iron-clad control. I really, really enjoy how the backstory casts massive shadows over the present and how the Let the Right One In vibes work with the spn vibes to create a universe that feels possible, but not so different that it no longer feels like their universe. Delightful. I should reread it this weekend.
For the other ones you mentioned:
I don't like Last Outpost. It's too OOC for my taste and the writing's... fine, but again doesn't feel much like spn. I know it's tons of people's "first long fave" tho so it doesn't surprise me that it's on so many reclists.
Only result I can find for The Passenger is the Cormac McCarthy novel? But do provide a link if it's a fic!
I hadn't heard of House Song, but apparently it's this? -- https://archiveofourown.org/works/55566670/chapters/141028087 -- and the description/tags look intriguing! I will have to give it a look-see, thank you for the rec.
#happy wincest wednesday#answers#hope it's okay i put this here#i wanted the opportunity to rec flying weight again to the people haha

Okay, this may come off sounding overly Buffypilled, but I think the fatal flaw that keeps preventing the pieces from coming together in SyFy's The Magicians (a show that is often good in its elements but Does Not Cohere) is that it can't figure out the nature of its core metaphor around magic.
But Milo, you say, maybe not everything has to be like, a metaphor? Maybe it can just be a fantasy show where people cast spells and bop around between dimensions because it's fun and entertaining? And to that I say, yeah, theoretically it can be that, but stuff that wants to be emotionally resonant is usually not that.
So there's typically an operative metaphor to these things, an idea that gives structure to the supernatural elements and helps us understand what's going on thematically. So like in Buffy and Supernatural, the structuring metaphor is The Pleasant-Seeming World Vs The Monsters Below Us. You understand the story by locating various characters in terms of their role in the conflict -- predators, protectors, prey -- and there's an ongoing tension around whether or not it's okay for protectors to dabble too much in Monstrosity, if the powers and tactics of the Monstrous can ever be repurposed for good.
That's not the structure of all stories, even in that genre! Teen Wolf and Harry Potter both have "secret occult world parallel to the familiar one" premises, as does The Magicians, but none of those stories impose the predator/prey metaphor onto their worlds. Teen Wolf structures its metaphors around the opposite assumption: that the supernatural element (The Wolf) is inherently neutral, and that accessing it makes characters simultaneously more dangerous and more capable of good. Hunters are bad guys in that universe, but good guys in Buffy and SPN, because the audience understands that "magic" is carrying a different set of meanings in the different stories, right?
The novels that The Magicians is based on has an extremely clear and pointed perspective on the meaning that magic carries metaphorically, and it's a positive meaning. Magic stands in for the power to make sense and meaning out of your own life, which is why the books follow Quentin's process from being a frustrated child using escapist child-stories to distract himself to playing an active role within those stories to assuming authority as a Magician King to ultimately killing the god of his childhood fantasy stories and creating his own Magician's Land to explore. Gaining more magic is always good in the books; it makes Quentin more sure of himself and the world, and it makes him more able to change it. It's an obvious metaphor for evolving over his 20s from a child who consumes stories to an adult who tells his own story.
But that's not the case in the show. A significant percentage of the show is an argument with itself about what magic even is -- does it solve problems or create them? If it's the reason lives across the multiverse are constantly at risk, is that bad? It sounds bad! But it's also power, and the show is highly sympathetic to the desire to Have More Power -- often completely divorced from the purpose or use of power. Gods seem mostly terrible, except Persephone, who's right to give Julia divine power, which we want Julia to be able to keep? But why do we want Julia to be a god? They're terrible! It's not clear. The nature of the power isn't clear, but the show has a general bias toward more power being a good thing -- except that the Library clearly has too much power, and so probably does Brakebills, both of which withhold magic for purposes that are protective or elitist or both? The show advocates for fewer restrictions on magic, but it also shows total carnage resulting from minor fuckups with magic, so -- does it really want the Library to just throw open to the floodgates? Doesn't it pretty strongly imply that a bloodbath would ensue if people had unfettered access to magic?
I realize it kind of sounds like I'm saying complicated stories with conflicting perspectives are bad, but I'm not. I just think it's difficult to know how to feel about anything that happens in the show because of this extremely loose approach to its use of themes. Alice is presented as wrong and bad when she tries to stifle magic, because the other characters like magic, but is she wrong? Why is she wrong? Why do the other characters like magic so much? It's presented as something that provides -- meaning or joy or some quasi-spiritual sense of identity ("the secret heart of who you always were"), but the show doesn't actually make that case, it doesn't demonstrate that the characters are better or happier because they're Magicians -- not in the same clear way that Scott McCall or book!Quentin are demonstrably more confident and comfortable and wiser at the end of their stories than they were at the beginning. As many times as I've watched The Magicians, I have to say I get less convinced every time that any of them benefit much from being Magicians -- and yet the story itself seems sure that they do, that magic has inherent value of some kind.
That's a weird combination, and it leaves me with the uncomfortable sense that the addiction metaphor is the one the show is fleshing out most fully. Fogg offers Quentin magic in exchange for his pills. Julia can't access magic legally and immediately behaves exactly like a junkie. If you do too much you'll be consumed, leaving an angry ghost. Kady's literal substance abuse, like Fogg's, is entwined at every step with the struggle to cope with the traumas of magic. Eliot is possessed by a creature of enormous magical power who is enthralled by the sensation of being high and has no perception of limits or consequence. They go back and back again to this entangling of magic and intoxication and addiction and self-destruction, but they never seem either aware of or willing to admit that they've created a world where magic itself is an addictive intoxicant, unable to provide real solutions to anyone's problems, but just pleasurable enough compared to the pain of sobriety to keep people chasing the sensation right over the cliff.
It's not intentional enough to be a metaphor that carries through consistently and explains everything, but it returns so frequently as a subtext that it ends up seeping into all the gaps where they've refused to show up with any other clear thematic agenda.

Do you guys have podcast recommendations? I'm caught up on everything I listen to, but you guys are my favorite podcast, so I assume we have similar tastes
AWWW i'm so honored that we're your faves! grey is no longer a podcast listener so i (crystal) shall be the only answerer
in terms of people-watching-a-thing podcasts, i've enjoyed:
doctor huh- two siblings, one a former doctor who watcher and one who... only knows about it from social media... watch nuwho eps in a random order
zero to zero- three friends watch dc/marvel properties and respond w fun and funny levels of haterism. i have enjoyed ALL of this despite never once touching something they reviewed. on maybe-permanent hiatus
LMNOP- the only good cbs elementary podcast. also on maybe-permanent hiatus
i've been meaning to watch that- i've listened to less of this one, but it's hosted by manika dulcio, who we had on our s4 wrapped, so if you liked her there check her out on her home base!
as for fiction podcasts, listing my fave subscribeds below! for some of these, the first few eps are kinda rough but i've found them all resoundingly Worth It eventually! also if you, babpod listener, care about this, all of these have queer main characters and i'll bold the ones where the main char is explicitly a poc:
hi nay- "a supernatural horror fictional podcast about Filipina immigrant Mari Datuin, whose babaylan (shaman) family background accidentally gets her involved in stopping dangerous supernatural events in Toronto." v rich lore v good at being creepy! (ongoing)
the silt verses- what if every single folk deity was real and hungry and society ran on ppl being sacrificed on telephone poles? incredibly sexy writing like SO sexy (ongoing)
midnight burger- space diner adventures and friendships! they recently dropped a 3-hour beautifully audio-engineered season finale they've grown so much since the beginning. great cast and fills you w so much wonder about The Universe (ongoing)
greater boston- an expanding cast of chars tell the story of the forming of a new city on the boston red line train cars. makes u wild about community and interconnectedness and local politics and how no one is beyond compassion while also having like. cheese robots (ongoing)
within the wires- what if a world war led to a worldwide cultural shift that decried all tribalism starting at the family unit and babies were separated from their parents at birth? extremely interesting world and formats though i do think it's kinda tired after s4. i think listening to s1 then reading the companion novel might be the Move (ongoing)
unwell, a midwestern gothic mystery- what it says on the tin! lily returns to the fading small town she grew up in to care for her mom. there are ghosts and town history and wolves in the woods. some rlly beautiful and complex family relationships and friendships, great vibe and sound design (complete)
parkdale haunt- p classic haunted house horror (well i say classic. there's also an influencers cult) which i also consider a Top Friendship-Focused Media (complete)
alice isn't dead- usamerican road trip show about the horrors of freedom. spn wishes. love jasika nicole as a VA (complete)
the pasithea powder- epistolary space bisexuals after a war that left them on opposite sides. excellent interpersonal drama and aliens (complete)
wooden overcoats- v funny british funeral home rivalry show antigone funn is the weirdgirl extraordinaire (complete)
monstrous agonies- nice soothing ten-minute segments of a supernatural advice show. i think i've mentioned it as being the anti-spn in terms of the monster rights and monster-human cohabitation background of the world (complete)
midnight radio- ten-episode small town radio show ghost romance. it's an excellent annual fall listen if you have a saturday free (complete)
mabel podcast- ONE OF THE PODCASTS OF ALL TIME. if you care about women you will like this podcast. i've always found anna and mabel so revolutionary and freeing to listen to. horror podcast about fairies and a house that loves (creepy edition?) you (long hiatus)
brimstone valley mall- silly delightful y2k demons in a mall (long hiatus)
the far meridian- magical realism story about a girl living in a teleporting lighthouse. sweet and melancholic (long hiatus)
khôra podcast- greek myths in space. i need to hug all the characters (long hiatus)
ty for this ask i love podcasts i need to catch up on them!
- Crystal :)
#hope this is a helpful list! idk what pods you usually listen to i hope this list isn't like. sooo basic#i feel like ppl's relationships to fiction pods are like 1. what's that? -> 2. only magnus archives and night vale ->#3. a nice portfolio (where i'm at i think. i've been here like 8 years i think) -> 4. Knows Every Single One (my cool mutuals)#i also hope you aren't a fully nonfiction pod listener this would be so unhelpful if so#asks

Rewatching It’s a Terrible Life
Welcome to “Sam and Dean are Just Steps on the Bossman’s Ladder: A Supernatural Rewatch Blog” with Lor and Mace!
Up today, s4e17: It’s a Terrible Life
Dean Smith works a middle-management white-collar job at Sandover Bridge and Iron, and Sam Wesson is a grunt in the IT department there. Sam thinks something about this life is wrong, and when he runs into Dean he could swear they’ve met before. But Dean brushes him off until employees start dying real weird in the company. When Dean witnesses an IT tech stab himself in the throat during a panic attack over filling out a form incorrectly, he accepts that Sam might be on to something. The two work together to research the company and the deaths, eventually realizing the ghost of the company’s founder is compelling workers to kill themselves if they don’t give Sandover their all. Smith and Wesson dispatch the ghost (after finding some helpful tips online from the Ghostfacers), and eventually Dean’s boss reveals that he is actually Zachariah, an angel who arranged this little interlude for Dean to help him remember that he is and always will be a hunter at heart. Dean doesn’t take kindly to this interference from the angels and promises that one day he’ll stab Zachariah in his face.
Below is a log of our real-time reactions as we watched. Remember that there may be spoilers for any part of SPN’s 15-season run here. Note also that the nature of our conversation is adult and thus it may contain adult language and themes.

Lor:
RIGHT?
Mace:

Lor:
like Sam goes from "my brother is beat to hell in a hospital bed" to being mind fucked and then no one bothers to tell him what's up
RIGHT?
Mace:
so mean. he needs comforting.
Lor:
I think we've talked before about how if they'd given Dean a life HE MIGHT ACTUALLY HAVE HAD, like running his own auto shop, restoring cars, with either Cassie or Cas, he would have STAYED THERE FOREVER
Mace:

I’m probably more forgiving than I should be, but I would say most people understand there are perfectly reasonable and compassionate people who have their personal reasons for continuing to enjoy mainstream or other media with massive issues. We all have our own opinions and baggage and that doesn’t make us enemies. But “its just too hard to find indie stuff!” isn’t that. If someone has enough internet access to send a defensive anon ask they can use Google or just ask for recs.
--
It's more than that.
Fandom is a subculture, or a set of subcultures, even with how mainstream fic is now. Supernatural was on for years, so yes, it clearly had a lot of people viewing compared to some novel. However, SPN had garbage viewership compared to lots of hit shows, and most randos at one's job likely did not watch it. It was an inescapable pillar of fandom culture for a while.
Film Bros have such distinct taste someone made that hilarious fanvid to Pretty Fly for a White Guy that used all of those movies they love. Sure, everyone's heard of most of them, but have we seen them?
Film noir nerds have festivals where they go watch increasingly obscure films noir, and there are "classics" all of them have seen that other people haven't.
I know no one who cares about The Secret History... aside from literally every dark academia social media account ever.
Everyone is the protagonist of their own story if they'd just act like it.
People come to my tumblr as a sort of central location, so when I'm melting down about Beyond Evil or even some indie novel, a certain number of people will go consume it too. I'm always picking up tastes from costubers or whatever internet micro-celebrity I like this month.
If you are excited about the stuff you like, other people will consume it so they can talk to you about it. You do not have to passively jump on every bandwagon. Even the supposed normies don't all watch the same shows. (And the idea of normies is a mirage anyway.)
There are whole facebook groups and social circles around indie original m/m novels these days. There are tastemaker super fans who seem to mostly engage in that sphere, and people who hang out in those spaces have all read the big names... big names absolutely nobody outside of the m/m world has heard of.
Go look up the website for GRL, the industry conference, and see how many of the attending authors you've heard of. Probably five of sixty or something unless you follow m/m very closely.
Last time I bothered with After Ellen, they were breathlessly following that Spanish historical soap's f/f subplot. Who else outside of Spain even heard of that show?
I get not wanting to be 100% alone forever, but there is no such thing as universally popular media. We make little pods of taste, some of which amount to full on subcultures.
Those taste groups form when we take a stand for our particular Thing, whatever it is. It requires a tiny bit of proactiveness, but honestly, not that much. People who are already un-normie enough to spend their time on AO3 and Tumblr instead of Instagram or whatever are already making choices about what kinds of tastes to prioritize and what circles to join.
We could make a minimal effort for our favorite types of content and build indie versions into small but viable industries.
Or we could be lazy, spineless cowards.

I discovered fandom events in July, I've never finishe- no, that's a lie!

Upcoming Plans
Fic's I'm hoping to finish writing/complete next year:
[MCU] On the Tide
[MCU] With Eyes to See and Ears to Hear
[MCU] Silver & Gold
[MCU] Hail Hydra
Fic's that I'd abandoned at some point, which I'm hoping to return to this year:
[SPN] Salvation
Writing Reflection
Finding JBB was a revelation, and very much accounted for our absolute mania in July. We now have a delightful collection of 700+ bingo prompts spread across too many boards to remember, and it's giving us so much motivation! We've started foraying into works written more for us, though, so we 100% expect less engagement over the next twleve months... But that's okay, because writing them has been an absolute delight.
The goal of this year is to finish the current four WIPS mentioned above! And hoooooopefully hit 500,000 words again... Though there's also a novel we should start. Oops.
Tagging some of my favourite authors: @buckys-wintersoldier, @gammacousin, @42donotpanic, @mrsbarnesblog, @un-unavoidableanxiousball
There's something important to be said, though. The most important thing, for us, that came out of this year wasn't the words. It was the very specific, 'pretty prevelant' commenter that found Multitudes a third of the way through after looking for something different. This... Amazing, beautiful person, making great statements of philosophy and shrewd insights through a computer screen at three am (leading us to wonder "Are you okay or do you need therapy-"). This person who Lia adorably demanded become our friend, and subsequently, we fell head over heels in love with. What's 153 miles (or ~207, given I'm not a crow) when you find the person - or rather, people - you've been looking for? @unfortunatebeetleandfriends Our Bug, our beloved... We can't wait to see you again. We will love you as long as we live. Lieutenant, Yoshitsune - y'all were unexpected, but just as much as a goddamn blessing, and we'll see you in 16 days and 22 hours. All of our love, forever and always, infinitely and endlessly. Thank you for deciding to backscroll.

I know it migth be a question you've already answered, but what was your inspiration for this series the and such cool and interesting characters ( note, I've known your work for a little while and really liked it).
A lot of things contributed to where my story is today. The first influence I received on minigiants and hunters was a Supernatural Fanfic RP story done by VoraciousPanda and Goldfox20 on Deviantart. VoraciousPanda made a really interesting adaption of minigiants based in the Supernatural universe and I thought that was really cool and fitting for the world of SPN. For a couple years, it was just in the back of my mind, but I didn’t really consider making my own content because I was self-conscious about writing something in such a niche category.
I later joined my first vore servers as a sheltered early adult who had never met anyone outside of my childhood homeschooled bubble and I was met by a very accepting community who celebrated our weird interests, and I didn’t have to feel ashamed or awkward about it. I got into some RPs there, where I created Eli as an RP character, loving the concept of a minigiant in a supernatural-style world.
(I will note that VoraciousPanda’s minigiant character is VERY different from Eli and he’s just a sweet cinnamon roll, while Eli is an asshole. It was mainly the SPN-style world and idea of giants that was part of my inspiration. Our minigiant species is very different as well)
I felt more prey-leaning, so I wanted to try an RP where Eli was trapped in his smaller form and was eaten by another giant and got a taste of his own medicine. In the introductory post of the RP, Eli had pinned down a hunter before the hunter had managed to use an alchemical concoction to trap Eli in his smaller from. This was just the set up for an RP that I had included in a single post, but I eventually grew to love writing Eli more and I wrote a follow-up story that was meant to take place after the RP, where Eli returns to the hunter and demands a cure for his shrunken form. Trapped in Sheep’s Clothing was born in novel format. It remained a non-illustrated story for a while where I began to develop the lore more and add onto the story over time.
Around the same time, I had been reading Lemondeer’s Down the Hatch comic and I admired how Lemondeer managed to build such a massive amount of support for writing a vore comic, and I realized that it might be possible for me to do the same. Eventually I decided to try it out and just illustrated the first four pages of the comic, not expecting to go anywhere with it. Surprisingly, those first few pages were received well enough for me to decide to continue. I wasn’t fully convinced I would ever finish the comic, but as the support grew for the comic, I just continued making it, leading to where we are today. This is my first ever comic and I’ve created about 140 pages now, 122 of which have now been released and I couldn’t be more grateful for all of the support that helped me along the way. It literally would not have happened if it weren’t for y’all.

Naur but fr, a while ago I talked about buying one of the dw audio dramas & one of my friends was like "Would you pay money for supernatural audio dramas?" and I was like "Only if they include the devil having sex with sam" lmao
the cw could be making bank right now and they don’t even know it.
seriously, though, they could literally just go ‘eh these are as canon as the tie-in novels/comics (which is to say, only canon as long as you want them to be)’ and do whatever the hell they want with the universe. i would listen to a spn audio drama! i would! would they be any good? probably not lmao but id be fascinated by them!
(and a sidenote because i was thinking about it but also like. if the original actors didn’t want to come back to play their parts in audio dramas. well, first of all, half the characters are angels that have been played by multiple people already so it’s literally not a problem, give them a new vessel and go to town, but also also: like. just recast sam and dean. do it. give new people a chance to give their twist on the characters. i want to see what they come up with.
sorry lmao im just very, very pro-give these characters to new actors to get new takes on how they behave. i feel like that’s something you only get in shakespeare plays, star trek reboots, and the doctor being a new guy ever few years. it should be more common! less trapping actors in roles for decades and more giving new people turns at the wheel!)
#not to talk about the mcu but. that literally could have saved the mcu.#get rdj and chris evans OUT of there they didnt want to be there past like movie 3 and it showed!!!#if a new guy had shown up as iron man in civil war we literally would have had less of a problem about the ooc writing! because it would#have been a new guy! new take on the character! easier to get us onboard with this!#sorry. i think about this a lot.#anyway the spn audio drama versions of sam and dean should be played by two guys who have never been in a major project before and are#willing to do some freak shit on tape for our enjoyment. and thats all we need.#we shall recast castiel as a burned out corpse. not because misha died. we just do not need him to be employed. <3#ask

Hay there B) I'm interested in the silly lil 🎃 :D
Fandom Supernatural, of course! Don't be afraid to pair me up with someone who doesn't get as much traction or isn't the main two (of course, if I don't get one of the main two). :)
I'm an avid enjoyer of everything spooky and scary and hunting would definitely be something I'd do if I were in the SPN universe. I feel the loner but necessary alliances type, but I wouldn't be one to get too attached unless I felt a serious spark. Not against working with the same individual more than once, either.
I personally like to imagine my own self-insert as some "earth angel" or spiritually in-tune young woman who can read auras, emotions, feel what one feels, etc etc. I'm what others would call an empath irl (not in the super trippy spiritual way if thats what you don't believe in), I'm just super compassionate and empathetic. I don't know if that part's important, but as rough and violent as I can be (when need be), I'm all for peace and tranquility within one another. I'd always try to solve any tension rather than make it worse. I keep quiet, reserved and to myself unless someone I care about is hurt and needs someone, or if someone tries to start bs with me. I was always that mother friend.
My anger and my envy I experience typically come from not really having a normal childhood even in real life. I never got to experience high school dances, dates, or hell even an irl high school to begin with. Just homeschooling, barely even any real irl friends or social cues. I envy everyone who gets anything and everything they've ever wanted.
My taste in overall men (and women) can be kind of unstable. I'll love the hero, but I'll also fall hard for the villain. My red flag is I think I can ease the villain's heart. No matter how clingy, or obsessive, or dickish they are. I'm also kind of obsessed (shhhh don't tell anyone...)
My hair is long, wavy and dirty blonde. My eyes are kind of sad, down turned like Blue Diamond's from SU. I like to dress in many different styles, if I'm feeling it but typically I go for something simple. Long, flowy skirts, blazers, t-shirts, flannels. If I'm feeling nice, a pretty white dress with pearl headbands. Or I'll try to look like a school girl coming home from a long, tiring day from dealing with her bitchy teachers and even bitchier classmates. Either light or dark, it depends on the mood. I'm also Christian.
I'm obsessed with true crime, demonology, mythology, and other spooky stuffs. I also enjoy writing, reading fanfics/novels, the occasional sketching and drawing, and I also wanna look into making custom dolls. I've looked into white magic before, attempted it a few times in the past. I'm a huge music fanatic, all genres (yes, even country...), but I typically listen to shoegaze, noise, metal, rock, and goregrind. Anything with screaming, distorted vocals, distorted/soft guitar, or no vocals at all, basically. (Examples being Duster, Deftones, Ghostemane, Giles Corey, Have A Nice Life, In This Moment, Birthday Massacre, etc)
I'm into some pretty dark shows and movies. I'm not in many fandoms, I don't see my own SPN self in many either, but I've seen a fair share of fucked up films. A Serbian Film, Dog Tooth, Lolita, The Handmaid's Tale (mainly the show), Miss Violence -- I watch them for comfort from my own trauma, and I see myself doing the exact same thing in SPN. My twisted past with ex boyfriends and abusive family members are probably what's gotten me head over heels, reeling over villainous characters that could snap me in half if they wanted.
I just want to be loved.
Anyways, I hope that's enough for you! I kind of overshared, but I hope it's alright! TL;DR I just want someone, anyone to love me for who I am and enjoy some of my hobbies. Take all the time you need, I understand your box might be full as hell.
first of all i love you so much and you absolutely deserve to be loved and worshipped because you’re beautiful and worthy of love and acceptance and care <3 (if you ever want to talk more my inbox is always open)
with that being said:
i ship you with cas :)
i know you said to not be shy to ship you with someone who isn’t the orig/main few, but i got heavy castiel vibes from you <3333
i think that he’s be drawn into your quiet but badass energy. how you want to diffuse traumas or tension before it even happens, but he also sees you on hunts as such a badass demon killing person. he also finds it fascinating how empathetic you are.
he loves all of your hobbies and often will sit next to you while you write or read. when you mention custom dolls he will freak out and absolutely ADORES watching the process.
he thinks you’re gorgeous. your blue eyes match his and your hair mesmerized him.
i also think that you guys can bond over traumas. while you have childhood based and family/ex-lover trauma, castiel definitely holds some trauma in thinking he’s not good enough or things from the other angels in heaven.
you guys balance eachother out. you teach him so much and you guys have the cutest little dates, the type to be up until 4am having deep conversations.
castiel also isn’t a rat and you deserve someone who isn’t a rat <33

two worst plot points of spn are the in universe novels and multiple parallel universes...true these gave us episodes like my friends 10x05 fan fiction and 6x15 the french mistake but we have to ask ourselves is it worth it?
