I think the Sam and Castiel friendship dynamic is really sweet. Backstabbing and brain scrambling aside, they strike me as two friends who really like each other but don’t think the other person does. For obvious reasons. But once they realise that, yes, I do like you, you do like me, we are friends, it’s all in.

Sam, please tell me why your girlfriend looks so much like your brother. The same height the same face the same smile even the same birthday. I don't believe it's a coincidence. You don't want to admit it but Who do you really love?Going to college was the first time sammy had left his brother, and they had an argument before they separated .How much you miss your brother at that time。。。

the way Castiel is THEE character of all time, seriously, he entered the narrative to solve a very practical narrative issue, he was a means to an end to be dispatched once the goal was achieved, but he carved his space into the story and we literally saw him struggling with themes like personhood, hubris, identity, faith, love...He broke the fourth wall in s6e20, he enacted "a tragedy from the human perspective"... We see him exploring his possibilities as a character so much so he textually became the "spanner in the works". He is the character without an author and how can you know him and not love him? I mean, if we want to go really meta his conflicting emotions with being "useful" are so on point, because he was indeed created with one purpose, ie save dean winchester, so becoming something other than that in the narrative itself is per se becoming more than its initial function... I don't know, I'm yapping but it's just that I'd love to be able to write a chracter like this, it drives me insane.

you don't understand supernatural is 6 different shows that have nothing to do with the showrunner eras. s1-3 is a cult classic tv show nobody watched when it was on air that is now revered as an american gothic-western family drama that ended too soon. s4-5 is a critically acclaimed american gods inspired limited series that won two emmys. s6-8 is a weird spin-off of the vampire diaries that's considered a camp masterpiece by a niche group of weirdos online for its simultaneously gay AND homophobic subtext. s9 is a terrible cw show that's ripping off so many things at once and no one watched it. s10-11 is the passion project of a famous screenwriter and it's later revealed that the concept started as s4-5 fanfiction, but it's still pretty good so everybody lets it slide. s12-14 is the reboot of the s6-8 vampire diaries spin-off because the weirdos campaigned for a reunion but it didn't live up to hype, but the gay subtext stuff was pretty good anyways. s15? there wasn't a s15 sorry you must be thinking of a different show.

I have been on a spree my entire teenage and adult life to consume entertainment in the form of series, tv, movies, international reality shows, books etc..
I stumbled upon Supernatural and my brain was like, enough, we are stopping here, we like this so much and we don't want to move on..
It's been a year since I finished binge watching and unable to pick up anything new..

Dean didn't get Baby through happenstance. He didn't get her because John wanted an upgrade or was feeling particularly giving or nice. It wasn't his birthday or a kept promise.
Dean got Baby because John Winchester's greatest fuck up was telling Sam to stay gone when he went to Stanford, and the only way to even remotely make it up to Dean was by giving him the impala.
It was the first and only time Dean exploded on his dad. The only time that Dean said 'fuck you' with his full chest. He called John a terrible father and they didn't speak for two weeks.
By the time they rolled out of town, John had a new truck and Dean had the only part of Sam left - the trinkets in the in-between spaces, their initials carved on her interior, and Sam's smell in the well worn leather.

Why did I never clock that he’d been dead three days before being brought back. The biblical parallels were paralleling INDEED.
Eric Kripke. When I catch you, Eric Kripke-
so many biblical parallels in supernatural and people still have to ask who jesus is in the show. i'm afraid it's the most likely candidate: the one who damned himself for humanity. he even had long hair. sorry.

Mary's "angels are watching over you" is a great line that makes full use of dramatic irony. We, the audience, know that having angels "watching over" you is NOT a good thing. So from our perspective "watching over" takes the meaning of "keeping under survellaince" and it's not pretty: it reminds us that angels are soldiers, they have a plan and a war to win. However, Mary doesn't know that when she says it, for her "watching over" means "protecting, taking care" and it's associated with the image of angels as guardians and protectors. What's even better is the fact tha later in the series, the show will strongly associate the "watching over" part with Castiel. And honestly? It works SO well 'cause the dramatic irony still works. Cas still doesn't incarnate the preconcevied notion of "guardian angel" and, at the same time, he stil sees himself as a solider. He shapes his own way of caring and protecting in a military fashion rather than a family-oriented one. It's not a "I'm here for you", more like "I'll go to battle so you won't have to". And this basically sums up the BIG issue he has in his relationship with Dean but that's for another story. Anyway, I'm just so fascinated with some lines in this show, I'll take the good ones when I can, lol!
