I do find it quite interesting that alot of genuine spirit shops i used to follow just kinda fell off the face of tumblr and have all migrated over to etsy or just straight up dont exist anymore. Granted i will always be a spirit/conjure worker as i work with many deities, ancestors/spirit team, and those whom ive made genuine connection with during the early age of spirit shops. (with the exception of closed. Im a witch of cataclysm not a monster). But its just so fuckin funny how the topic of spirit work and companionship just fuckin phased out like a trend. Which is alittle dissapointing.
I thought about getting back into thoughtform creation again but tbh....Idk if id ever really want to? Only because i would never have enough energy to keep up with demand and my spiritual path has taken such a different direction then when it started. My guess is thats probably the case for some others too.

Is it alright if you talk/ramble about your god designs?? :3 I’d love to learn about your thought process about them!!! :D
HI, YES, WILL DO :D!!! Okay, so, fun little thing, athena wont be here because I WILL be redesigning her, but not too much, just to basically match with Zeus a little more [favorite child moment.] For the most part, I basically try to put the branches that stem from the concepts of what they're a god of, like god of thunder and god of the seas, with both Zeus and Poseidon having elements of their environment. With Zeus' cloud hair and fluff, and his thunder like marbling on his skin, and Poseidon's water arms and fish features [the fins and black scales] Zeus' design wasnt as simple to think about as I thought, for the most part I kind of just dont put that much thought into it and think about it AS I go, I try to implement the leaves in other ways like his horns, and the MAIN thought in designing zeus is how much of a drama queen that he was that he'd want to make himself look more different than everyone else, my thoughts are pretty scrambled because i don't exactly know how to explain my thoughts in a linear pattern so im sorry if it cant be understood, basically just had idea after idea WHILE i was making him, his hair basically turns into his tail in the same design that Hermes has, just fluffier, AND his chest is charred/marbled with lightning coming from the center because power is where his heart lies. I wanted him to EMBODY, cockiness, king of gods energy, while also thinking it'd be funny that other than aphrodite he's the one with the most skin shown..just because. Poseidon's design was in similar existence with Zeus, but where Zeus was as big and puffy as his clouds, I wanted poseidon to be as sleek as water, his hair had to be waves that melded into the seas whenever he was in his element, and when he wasnt, his hair would flow to the floor giving the look you usually see in water breathing from demon slayer [image below] His hair flows in the same sense, while keeping its form for the most part.
Tumblr media
Hermes! well, he kinda just came to me while I was doodling him, ngl I had to pull out google to figure out what hermes looked like the first time to get more than one idea, and decided that it'd be fun to make him more of a mysterious trickster of a mailman that is alot more threatening than he's let on, giving him a more 'biblically accurate angel' look with all the eyes came from the idea of him being a messenger and being able to go anywhere as quickly as he does, you'd never really know when he was or wasn't watching. I thought I'd just implement that more into his design, ALSO incorporate some spirity ghostly things mostly on his cape, just to make his role of guiding souls a bit more shown :3 APHRODITEEE Was simple, but a really fun thought, as the goddess of beauty and allat I wanted her to basically be as customizable as possible, marbling vitiligo with white hair, a canvas capable of change. She's able to mold herself as whoever you want her to be, and whoever she wants herself to be, but her main look is a dull pink with marbling vitiligo and hair so white you'd get blinded looking at her, I also added a bit to the dove look with her hair, making it look and flow like feathers whenever she moves.
Basically, again, all of my ideas usually stem from the concepts and branches of their titles, and my want to just make them all silly and pretty, i havent designed others yet but I hope this answers it! :D!

Hi I heard about the slightest possibility of Boatem buttercups and just decided to write a tiny thing with it. Short bc I don't have the time or wrist health to write more but I love them ok
--
“I still think the dye was a little much,” Pearl commented as she wove flowers together with a masterful hand, “I mean, you're just stealing Jimmy's aesthetic at this point, aren't you?”
Grian huffed softly, rolling his eyes. “I'm showing team spirit, Pearl. And besides, you did...” He gestured toward her wings– feathered and shining a harvest gold. “...whatever that is, to your wings! That's way more than I did!”
“Should I have dyed my hair?” Mumbo asked, glancing up at the two siblings. “I mean, if you two are, well, so spirity...”
Impulse shrugged. “I already have yellow on me, so I think I'm good.”
Scar looked up from where he was helping Mumbo weave his own flower crown. “Well, I think you both look amayzin'. Just like real buttercups! Though Pearl, I'd love to know what sort of illusion magic you used for the whole look.” His eyes seemed to sparkle as he beamed. “I'm a curious man, you know!”
Pearl laughed, shaking her head. “A lady never reveals her secrets.”
“That's just unfair,” Grian muttered, “why do you get to keep secrets?”
Impulse smirked. “I think the better question is, why can't you?”
Grian shot him a glare. “I keep more secrets than you know!”
“Sure thing, poultry man.”
Grian squawked, and the rest of the Boatem Buttercups burst out laughing. “That's unfair, I've only told you four!”
Pearl set down her flower crown, raising her eyebrow. “After half of us found out on our own?”
Grian grumbled, going back to working on his flower crown. “You're all so mean to me.”
Scar laughed, reaching out and patting Grian's shoulder. “Aww, G, we don't mean it. I didn't know you were poultry man!”
Mumbo gave him a quizzical look. “Weren't you the first person–?”
“Nope!” Scar interrupted cheerfully. “Oh, Mumbo, you want to do it like this–” He went back to helping Mumbo with his flower crown.
Pearl hummed softly as she continued to make her crown, giving pointers when asked. Finally, upon finishing, she placed it on Impulse's head with a smile. “There ya go!”
Impulse chuckled, and gave Pearl the crown he'd been working on. “Just in time, apparently.”
Grian placed his flower crown on Mumbo's head, and Scar placed his on Grian. Finally finishing with his own crown, Mumbo gently set the crown he made on Scar's head.
“Perfect! Now we're all really the buttercups,” Grian declared.

Hey there! Quick lore question in regards to one of your posts- you mentioned in one of them that there’s implications that the evanuris didn’t actually need lyrium to *make* their bodies, only to ensure that those bodies could still do magic- would you be willing to expand on that? I thought I scoured Veilguard pretty thoroughly but I completely missed that implication!
In the memory where it’s revealed that the original elves were spirits who took physical form, Mythal says “the lyrium gives us the strength we had when we were of the fade. We are the best of physical and spirit.” She says this in response to Solas’ protests, to justify using the lyrium.
The strength they had in the fade was the ability to manipulate reality, i.e fade based magic. The phrasing here definitely implies that the lyrium is giving them an optional bonus. The lyrium isn’t just giving them physical form, it’s giving them that strength. The magic. The second sentence also implies that they’re better than both the physical people who already exist and spirits. They’re better than regular spirits (according to Mythal at least) because of their physical form, and given this statement is a defense of using the lyrium, they’re better than physical beings because, by making their bodies with lyrium, they can do magic.
There’s also Cole. Cole is a spirit who took physical form. He did not use lyrium to do this. He is also not a mage (when he’s more spirity he can make people forget, but that’s not him being a mage, that’s him being a spirit. He’s not a physical person yet). He theorises he’s not a mage because the original Cole desperately wanted to not be a mage, but there isn’t the impression he knows that with certainty. He’s kinda confused about his existence, he doesn’t even know at first he isn’t the original Cole. So that may not be the reason. It may be the lack of lyrium.
At the very least it proves that a spirit taking physical form isn’t definitely going to be a mage, that a spirit taking a physical form doesn’t require lyrium, and that there’s an example of a spirit taking physical form without lyrium and that person isn’t a mage. With that in mind, Mythals statements definitely imply that lyrium was only necessary to keep their magical ability, not take physical form.

I said i wasn't going to say this hc out loud in case it ever got run over by future canon, but now that that's gone, I suppose there's no real harm in declaring it:
Felassan came from a spirit of Loyalty.
Why Loyalty?
To me, it seems like the main trait he embodies throughout his entire existence.
Loyalty to The People.
Loyalty to Solas.
Loyalty to a fault, at some points.
Felassan says you must always keep asking yourself if you are doing the right things for the right reasons, and then if you're not, you must be brave enough to change course (or something along those lines). And that to me is loyalty to the Self. Something Solas, on the other hand, fails at.
Felassan struggles with these several cords of loyalty in TME, and in the end, makes a decision that, while ungraciously labeled as the ultimate betrayal, I think is proof positive of his ultimate loyalty. He really does make the decision that is most loyal to all his connections. Briala, The People, himself, and even Solas in a roundabout way. But the fact that we can still acknowledge this as a betrayal gives even more impact to the idea that he manifested from Loyalty, doesn't it?
After all this time, after everything he's been through, after his undying loyalty throughout countless lifetimes, he finally draws the hardest line he's ever made, and he meets it bravely. It shows the evolutionary arc from a spirit restricted to its nature to a fully robust person capable of flexibility, adaptation, and nuance (Felassan is more spiritually and emotionally evolved than Solas, who finds it much more difficult to break out of his spirity binary thought patterns).
Looking at it this way also lends a bit more sense to Solas' decision to kill him (we still hate you for it, Solas), because if Solas sees this as a betrayal (Solas was the one to betray him, but ok), then he may see it as a thematic corruption of Felassan's nature as Loyalty. Oh you've been corrupted, Loyalty, thus sadly you must die. I say thematic, because Solas does know that Felassan isn't a spirit anymore and is capable of nuance, but it's the metaphor, and Solas is the type of bitch to kill for the symbolism of it all.
So anyway, change my mind, Felassan is Loyalty.

The [nonsense] comparisons between Forgotten Realm and Dragon Age Lore
Without entering to a discussion of how valid or not Canon is, and what does it mean, we all can agree that within the context of dnd, Canon gives a frame where the community can be build characters and stories around it. Canon gives the basics so we all can produce around it or modify some bits without turning it into another thing entirely different to what it was originally conceived, and therefore, our contribution in the fandom is an interesting addition because we are sharing, as a community, canon basic rules.
With this said, I would like to highlight some things that keep being repeated and make no sense  when compared:
Dragon Age (DA) lore is totally different to Forgotten Realms’ (FR). And this produces that the characters within these worlds have different and totally opposite experiences about the “similar” thing in question. Especially when it comes to magic. I will sum up briefly this:
In DA, so far we know, there is no Weave as it is in FR. The Fade is not the Weave. The Fade is a plane of existance where mostly mages can access to via dreams [even though history has shown some exceptions, but we are not going into those details]. The Weave in Forgotten Realms is Mystra herself, and it’s like a translator: it allows the use of raw magic that only Wild-magic users can tap into it directly. The Weaves allows any mortal to cast magic if they study hard enough without losing their sanity with the use of raw magic. In the Weave there are some of Mystra’s previous Chosen Ones, living as spiritis, one with her, ready to be reincarnated when she decides it is needed. These are the Weave ghosts that have been added to the lore of FR recently. Again, Fade and Weave are not even similar. And the Veil in DA can’t also be considered similar to the Weave: it is a restriction between two world: the Waking World and the Fade. So no. There is no equivalent of the Weave in DA.
Magic comes from different sources in FR: you can study it and master it via the Weave, or you can be devout to a god or have a patron and they will provide you divine/”patron” power [clerics, paladins, warlock]. Bards are more like a “free to interpret” case since their magic comes from music or sometimes from a god, depending on the way you create your bard. In DA, there is no apparent source of magic, although it seems to be connected to the Fade. Mages are born with magic, and need to learn how to control it along their lives at the risk of being posessed by demons. There is no way in DA that any non-mage person can master magic [Let’s put aside the dilemma with the dwarves and the non-magical powers of the Titans, that’s a lot of [unresolved] lore in DA for this summary]
DA’s demons are not even remotelly close to Demons in FR. In FR we have demons [chaotic evil entities] and devils [lawful evil entities] who have been in war eternally in what it’s called the Blood War. Both factions want to control the planes, but first their need to deal with the enemy faction. Many secret organizations in FR work incognito to help Devils/Demons when this conflict ends up too inclined to one side. This is because these organizations are trying to keep Devils and Demons fighting 50/50 each other eternally since, once this conflict is solved, it’s mostly for sure that the planes will be conquered by the winning faction. That dire it is. Devils do not exist in DA, and its Demons are related to human’s desires and compulsions. DA’s demons also have, like the spirits, a reflective nature: they mirror what the mortals expect from them.
Dragon Age has no Wizards as Forgotten Realms has. Wizards are people who through a lot of effort, study, and intelligence have acquired the power to manipulate the Weave, or tap into it, to produce magic.  If anyone is midly qualified as a Wizard in the world of DA is Dagna: a person who has strongly studied magic by her own volition without a real “need”. But she can’t perform magic [yet].
DA’s mages are closer to FR’s sorcerers, even though they are not exactly the same. Sorcerers in FR are magic users who don’t need to learn to control magic because it’s natural to them. They tap into the Weave to take what they need. The Wild-magic sorcerer can tap directly into the Raw Magic, without touching the Weave and without losing their sanity, but the consequence is the randomness of their magic. Sorcerers don’t need to study to control their powers unlike the DA’s mages. In DA, mages develop their powers in their childhood and are unable to control them. Nobody can’t turn into a mage unless you are born with that “gift and curse” in DA lore. All mages in DA lore need a teacher, mentor, or studies in order to control their powers and prevent demon posession.
Probably one of the most important differences: Larian is not Bioware. Larian has always had its own mark for good or bad [just check all the previous games they did]. And Larian has a long, long history of being really bad at handling lore, even their own lore [DOS2, DOS1, Ego Draconis, etc]. Which I think it’s clearly shown in BG3 too. Even with borrowed strong lore, they manage to produce important plot holes and lore holes [Characters turning into Mind Flayers without being Tadpoled, Gods that are not gods, but quasi deity and therefore have no godly powers, extremelly confusing mixture of concepts that were well defined in 4th Edition and now are all the same in some conversations, but in others are different things, Weave that doesn’t exist, etc, etc].

Always love your headcanons :) now that we have official news of the new ATLA movie in 2025, what are your predictions?
Thank you!
To summarize what we know, here's a list of everything I've seen:
Teaser Image
Character Descriptions
Timeline Placement
Unfortunately, the source for all of this is Avatar News, which sometimes jumps to conclusions too quickly and presents them as probable facts. However, this is all very basic information, so I feel safe speculating on it.
The big question is what this movie is about, both in terms of plot and theme. The plot could be anything, but the image has some buildings in the background that look more 'classical' than the Republic City architecture, so my guess is that the gAang are on the move again, as they should be. It raises the question of what is drawing the whole gAang back together if not their pet city. I can see Toph joining just for some excitement, but if Zuko is involved, it must be some big, nation-spanning concern. So it's probably going to be suitably epic for a theatrical release movie.
I'm leaning towards Spirit Troubles of some kind, but given my pedigree, that's probably not a surprise. I'm leaning away from a threat that could start/restart a war, especially involving the Earth Kingdom, as that was the plot of several of the Gene Yang comics, and I think those highlighted how poorly suited the gAang cast is for that kind of thing. Going after bandits or a warlord or something doesn't really feel like it would merit Zuko's direct involvement, even if they pull in Long Feng as a renewed threat to clean up that dangling plot point.
The only non-Spirity thing I can think of that would be both epic and pull in all these characters is something involving the Order of the White Lotus. The Red Lotus was the best plot in LoK, and having a rogue OWL member or faction might somehow pose a threat to international stability, but trying to limit knowledge of the OWL (if that's still a thing at this point in time?) could lead to Zuko getting involved directly rather than sending subordinates.
Of course, the big question is who else is going to get involved with our main cast of characters. With Zuko in the movie, will we see something with Mai? I've pointed out how conspicuously absent she's been from any media that might finally resolve The Dread Breakup Subplot, and it was recently pointed out to me that she's been getting some non-story attention lately. Could that be build-up to an appearance and subplot in this movie? I think it's hard to say. Mai isn't listed in the cast profiles, but it could be they already have an actress in mind for the character, or maybe she's just a very minor character only making a glorified cameo. But if so, why is she being held back in other media? Perhaps simply because she'll be prominent in tie-in material to the movie, rather than the movie itself- you know, a prequel comic that reveals how she and Zuko get together, putting a foundation beneath her appearing as Zuko's fiance for one scene or something.
Suki and Ty Lee, sadly, are less likely to appear. Sokka's love life was never elaborated upon in LoK, so it's wide open for them to do anything with it in this movie, but I think they'll lean towards either continuing to say nothing about it or just mention Suki without showing her. Leaving Mai out of the adventure is easier if she needs to hold things down in the Fire Nation, but it would take a lot more explaining for why the Kyoshi Warriors don't help out if they appear in the movie. Having too many characters running around is a common writing pitfall, and while it can be made to work, it's easier to keep extraneous characters out of sight and out of mind.
But how can we be sure if Suki and Ty Lee are extraneous if we don't know the main theme of the movie? Well, the focus is on Aang and Katara. And I'm predicting that they're being pulled away from Republic City, their home and base. And, if this is going to be a movie released into theaters, I'd hope that it would be more than just An Adventure Aang Has As An Adult. This is America, not Japan, and for better or for worse we don't make theatrical features out of what are essentially extended random episodes of a long-running cartoon. So I'm thinking it has to a turning point for Aang, at least emotionally.
And I'm guessing it's this specific turning point.
(And check out that reply beating me to this prediction months ago. XD)
But yeah, I feel like the only big thing left for Aang -- at least in terms of a bankable cinematic adventure -- is to restore or rediscover enough Air Nomad culture enough to really get the Air Acolytes off the ground. It can leave the origin in the comics alone (basically, random culturally insensitive kids who form an Aang Fan Club and then pressure him into creating a cult they join) and just jump into the idea that there are existing people called to Air Nomad culture and Aang's leadership, but he doesn't have much to offer them beyond internships while he does Avatar stuff. But the movie's plot kicks off and Aang discovers that it's tied to some repository of Air Nomad culture or knowledge or just a herd of sky bison or lemurs, and so he has to act to save some of the last vestiges of his culture, and in doing so he finds the inspiration to create the Air Acolytes we see in LoK, including a reclamation of the Temples. Perhaps the threat even involves the Northern Air Temple in some way, caused by them messing around with stuff they shouldn't have.
You could even swing it so that this is why Zuko is personally tagging along, that the Fire Lord helping to restore this bit of the Air Nomads is importantly symbolic. The importance of this to Aang could also be why Toph is on the quest (in her cool new cape), since the comics have established that she doesn't go on all his adventures anymore now that she has responsibilities. If desired, this could even be tied into a "Is it time for us to expand our family?" subplot for Kataang.
That's about as much as I can speculate based on what we know. I'm sure this is 99% likely to be all completely wrong, and it's possible that teaser image is nothing but some concept art that doesn't even reflect the final product. But the main thing I'm looking for with this movie is its justification for existing, since the backstory between AtLA and LoK actually feels pretty boring, and AtLA made its Coming Of Age arcs so epic that it's hard to imagine these characters not feeling like their lives peaked before they even hit adulthood. So that's what my speculation has tried to cover.
I'd probably also be satisfied with a random adventure, though, as long as the story is good and the movie looks amazing. I've seen two of the My Hero Academia movies in theaters, after all.

sooo i finally watched invader zim enter the florpus!! i was gonna wait until i finished the comics first but then i saw that apparently clembrane appears in the comics after the movie?? and i didnt want to risk getting spoiled bc yknow. the movie is when he First Appears so i thought id watch it before picking the comics back up again.
anyway, here r my thoughts on the movie down below!!
it was....pretty good!! there were a LOT of positives for me, but ultimately one major thing that i really wish could have been done better (but we'll get to that in a bit). again, i liked it, i thought it was a good movie! im gonna list all the things i especially liked followed by the things that kinda bothered me a bit so bear with me lol
positivies:
i know this is an Unpopular Opinion, but i actually rly like the art style!! i still think the show's designs r better, but i rly RLY liked how vibrant and smooth the animation was in this film. plus movies based on animated series already tend to have a slightly different art style anyway (the spongebob movies and the mlpfim movie come to mind) so i didnt mind the change. add to that the fact that this movie came out 17 years after the shows cancellation and its no wonder that jhonen vasquez's art has changed since then, plus i'd imagine there was a much bigger art/animation team this time around. anyway ofc i rly loved the part where they Enter The Florpus (lol get it) and go thru all the different art/animation styles, i loooovee stuff like that and i think every animated production should do smth like that at least once solely bc i love it so much. for me
clembrane is rly funny and i love him. im glad hes here now. dib and gaz have TWO dads
PROF. MEMBRANE WAS SO FUCKING COOL????? like omg i was NOT expecting him to be so badass in this???? when he shot the giant fucking Laser Blast out of his arms and wiped out all those robots my jaw DROPPED i was in SHOCK!!!! he was hiding all that power this whole time????? DAMN no wonder hes considered one of the most important scientists on earth
the humor was really fucking funny as always w iz LOLLLL there were multiple points that made me laugh out loud. special shoutout to the callback they made to mortos der soulstealer where zim and dib are yelling at each other and zim keeps going "WHAT????" ASKDJALSKDJ thats one of my fav jokes from the show so im glad they did that here
gir aka my fav was SOOO CUUUTEEE his stupid little peace song was so funny and adorable, i love p much everything he does in this movie as usual SDKJFLDSKJ gir my beloved
even if i have some issues w it (which we'll get to shortly), i DO like seeing that dibs family really do care for him, particularly prof. membrane. hearing him say he was proud of dib did make me smile
im not entirely sure how i feel abt the tallests canonically dying, but i do think its a funny way to kill them off and end their story. like.....ofc they die bc theyre too entitled to steer their spaceship. what else would they die from SAKFJLSDKJ
all that being said, there was one major thing that kind of bugged me a bit, as well as a few minor nitpicks.
negatives:
starting off with my biggest issue, and this might be a confusing one for some, but let me explain: in my opinion, compared to the show, this movie felt just a bit too.....sanitized? "feel-good"-ish? ....happy?? now just hear me out. a large part of what made invader zim so appealing, especially to that older tween/young teen crowd (many of whom fell into the emo subculture), is the fact that, compared to other kids cartoons at the time and even today, it was a very mean-spiritied, cynical, pessimistic show. the main protagonist is a villain trying to take over the world. his rival is the show's antagonist, so audiences may find themselves rooting against him even tho hes trying to save the world. gaz is on no one's side but her own and frequently bullies her brother and does not care what happens to zim. and it works!! thats a key factor in why so many people, myself included, like the show. it isnt afraid to have unhappy/unsatisfying endings, and there are very few "happy" moments (aside from gir, ofc, who is a fan favorite for this reason; his happiness in spite of the dark world around him is a great source of irony and genuine enjoyment). and i feel like this movie lacks a lot of that cynicism and bitterness from the show, yknow? like....i like dib and i want him to succeed, but part of his appeal is knowing that he never will, or at least not in the way he wants. we want dib's family to recognize him, we want gaz to show that she still loves him, and we want prof. membrane to say that hes proud of him. but.....invader zim is not really the type of show. i understand that this is ofc a movie for kids, but again, part of what made the show so appealing was the fact that it was so dark WHILE still being for kids. the closest thing we get to any kind of "mean-spiritedness" is the tallests deaths, which, while deserved and executed in a funny way, only happens at the end. idk i just felt like this movie was kinda....playing it "safe" compared to the show it was based on yknow. but thats just my opinion idk i swear im not one of those "WHOA look at how DARK and EDGY this show is!!! that proves that its NOT FOR KIDS" types, i just feel like the overall tone was a bit lacking compared to the source material
NOW onto the nitpicks!! these werent rly major flaws that interfered w my enjoyment of the movie, just stuff that mildly irked me (lol get it). for starters i wish tak was there :( i know she was originally planned to be in the movie but they had to cut her for time constraints which is fair. still i miss her so much. tak my beloved come back to me
another nitpick, but pretty much the only other thing that i didnt like abt this movie and its SUPER minor: i dont like how frequently gaz's eyes are open throughout this movie?? ALKSJFSDLKLKDS I KNOW THATS A WEIRD THING TO COMPLAIN ABT LMAOOOO i swear it doesnt actually bother me that much but it was kind of distracting. the reason gaz's eyes are almost always closed is to add to that angry, apathetic look she always has; it conveys her personality. when her eyes DO open, they're large and cute, which is a nice contrast to her normal appearance and makes these scenes in the show/comics have more comedic impact. here, they're open a bit too frequently for my liking, and i think it made me perceive her character differently. i think she should have been grumpier LOLLL but that kind of ties back into my first point
but errmm yeah!! despite the block of text i just wrote i still rly liked this movie!! in terms of continuations to the show, however, i think i prefer the comics, although again i have not finished reading them. i just feel like theyre closer in attitude to the original show and have a lot more interesting story ideas. but again, this movie is not bad!! there were a lot of things i rly do like abt it!! im pretty easy to please tbh.
overall id say this movie has like.....7.5/10?? maybe?? its still a good movie and id probably watch it again if given the opportunity. theres a lot of cool things about it and i did enjoy myself watching it. thats just my Onion tho, lmk what u think abt it if youve seen it :) just pls be civil if u disagree w anything i said, i like hearing other ppls perspectives on things!!

Note
Catalina's werewolf form should have had red fur tbh, there are wolves with a reddish hue. Also it was kinda vague but I really don't buy that some spirity miasma got ahold of her and now she's a furry every full moon. It's another case of too much inexplicable magic oversaturating the show (it could have been better if they ditched the whole werewolf hunter profession)
I have no problem with either her design (especially because they were trying to keep who the wolf was a mystery), nor with how they chose to portray how the werewolf is passed on. It's a refreshing take, and the whole thing was an allegory for mental illness, anyway.

hate this stupid mirage designed to undermine fellow members of the queer community. fundamental fallacy in play here. individual men are not your oppressors--patriarchy is.
so the core of the terf belief system is that there is a bioessentialist Quality Of Men that makes them fundamentally an Oppressor who can never face marginalization, right? we disagree with that because we love trans people--both women and men. if men are Fundamentally Oppressors, you can't Change Genders. here's the thing. under the premise of "transmasculine oppression does not occur at any axis so they can't have this word", you have removed the bioessentialist aspect but still accepted that there is a Quality Of Men that innately makes them an Oppressor that can never face marginalization.
now the next logical step that we've taken from "men can never be oppressed or have a -phobia term" is that because the "base model" or cis men aren't oppressed and don't face what would hypothetically be "androphobia," trans men cannot create the term "transandrophobia" to describe their real experiences of pain and oppression. despite this weird semantic caveat, we both fully and entirely agree that trans men/mascs do face real oppression specifically due to being Trans Men/Mascs that is different in nature from the cruelty and oppression that Trans Women/Femmes face. so we fully agree that the phenomenon is real, but you and many others are for some reason saying they cannot have a word to describe it. they can't have a word to describe their real experiences because the "base model" doesn't face oppression and we hate the base model so much they specifically do not and can never have a -phobia word.
what is the point of this? who does this help?
it helps terfs keep trans mascs isolated is who it helps. i just. i think the toxicity of the idea is really represented in action right now. because we are talking about a group of men/masculine people who are actively specifically marginalized. they are telling us they are being targeted for detransition and conversion therapy. they are trying to tell us something and we aren't listening because we're playing semantic games over what words they're allowed to use. because they aren't oppressed enough to "be at an axis." in practice right now, it seems like "be at an axis" has turned into "have a real voice in the community." there needs to be room here, conversations where "trans masc" isn't a performative placeholder for "passing trans men," more fluid boundaries between "Man" and "Woman" and how people identified within those categories face marginalization, less hatred for Men and more love for queer life and liberation. not just to be inclusive of nonbinary people who also exist and face weird mixes of both of these real things--transandrophobia and transmisogyny-- but because right now we are denying solidarity to members of our community and limiting our own discussion and understanding in favor of forcing a Very Harassed Group Of Us to endlessly workshop the term over petty semantic grievances.
and I'm sorry but i really. just need us to collectively take a moment and reflect that the grievance is "this word could be broken down into another word we wouldn't like." and i don't really know what to do with that. there are a lot of good reasons to use the term "transandrophobia" not the least of which is because it's immediately descriptive under the language rules we all know (the marginalization/hate that trans men face) but because it fits in with all of the other queer terms--biphobia, homophobia, lesbophobia, aphobia, queerphobia--we generally went hard in terms of "phobia" terms. trans-andro-phobia seems perfectly reasonable to me to describe the hatred of trans men. i am really really sad that "'andro' can't be in a 'phobia' word because men can never be oppressed" became the dominant discourse on this because it really is just. mean. it's just mean-spiritied. 'misandry' already exists. if whatever you were scared of was gonna happen, it already would have. i really cannot comprehend the preferencing of some nebulous possible harm of "androphobia" over and above our ability to describe real problems facing members of our community.
again i ask you, who does this help? trans mascs are our community and they are being attacked brutally and quietly and we aren't talking about it because?? men can't be oppressed because they're not on an axis? they are asking us for solidarity. and they need it.
trans men are asking us to see that terfs weaponize murderous language against trans women but they are no less genocidal in their aims of targeting trans men and mascs for de-transition, conversion therapy, and corrective rape. "lost lesbians" and "lost daughters" and "irreversible damage" are rallying cries and money makers among the far right--they say "keep your daughters daughters, keep them in the ontological category of victim before they become a predator."
the hostility to the term transandrophobia because "men can't be oppressed" is the internalization of the terf belief that men are fundamentally and innately predators and oppressors instead of people reacting to their position under the system of patriarchy. it's a belief that never allows for the destruction of the patriarchy. it says you can never be a gender-traitor unless you're the right gender--a feminine gender (woman) fighting against the innately violent masculine onslaught (men). there are straight cis men who fight against toxic male gender norms and face violence for it, too. this model cannot articulate that violence beyond "homophobia" and it cannot articulate the violence against our trans brothers beyond "transphobia" and that is a failure. that is not ideological purity-- that is an active failure to real and living members of your community. we need to articulate it.
we have real members of our own community here asking us for help.
The nature of this site is that every few years there's some kind of "misandry is totally real guys" discourse that pops up from men (both cis and trans) who are either just misogynists or they have forgotten what the world outside of tumblr is like.
Every time people keep having to explain that no, actually misandry isn't a thing (and neither is androphobia which is just misandry but rebranded to sound more progressive) but this time apparently when you explain that misandry isn't real people will call you terfy even if you're transfem.
Like I get that this shit is mostly started by weird dickheads online but I've seen like actually otherwise cool people fall for it and like have you guys never been outside? Do you genuinely think that a few people in progressive spaces not liking men means men are oppressed or whatever? Do you not see how you're parroting right wing talking points? In real life men are still opressing women and the patriarchy is very much still a thing

A DAY OFF?
They say that evil doesn't take a day off, and based on what we've seen in current events, from the mass shootings at Lewiston and more recently in Prague, that clearly proves true. So those who stand up for what's right can't figuratively take a day off, either. And of course, there's the usual highly partisan politics that seems to have infected almost everything we do in America.
But since it's already Christmas Eve, and no one really wants an earful for the holidays, I'm not here to talk about that today. I wouldn't necessarily consider these posts "a day off", in the strictest sense. It's more of a redirection for the holidays. So in keeping with the spiriti of Christmas, I'm sticking to more faith-based themes. But don't worry, the cultural critique will be back in short order!

may j ask, do you do any readings on kylian mbappé's love life, please? like who is he dating or his ideal type or what kind of a person he is in a relationship?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Kylains Love Life:
Love is the very, very last thing he's focused on right now. He might've thought or reflected if he open-up to being in a relationship but decided not have love or a relationship be anything he focuses on. I feel him just ignroing his love life all together. He seems to be pretty focused on himself and spending time with his family (from my previous reading done yesterday).
Tumblr media
Kylian Mbappe Ideal Type:
He wants someone who already has a career, is financially stable and able to care for themselves, is hardworking, and values family while being able to balance their lives together. He wants someone who is very healing and calm so that he can go to them with his problems, emotions, and feelings and they can help guide him and come up with solutions to those problems so that he can move forward.  He a lso prefers someone who is emotionally mature and understands their emotions, and has the ability to move forward and deal with difficult times/periods in their life when they occur. He wants and needs a partner who will truly love and care for him and see him for who he is, as 'Kylian" —not as the famous footballer 'Kylian Mbappe'.
"If he feels emotionally secure with you, you're what he wants," I keep hearing. So I'm guessing he won't commit to a relationship unless he feels safe and secure in their presence emotionally.
Tumblr media
What Kylian Mbappe is Like in a Relationship
Constantly checking in on his partner throughout the day, communitive, wants to know what they are up to and how they're feeling.  He's entertaining, quite playful, and free-spiritied; I see him laughing together with his partners and having inside jokes together. He wants to ensure that his partner is content, stable, and joyful. He'll try almost everything to lift their spirits if he can. I see him expressing his emotions to his spouse and wanting them to reciprocate to him whenever they have any issues or problems, etc. I see him as being possessive and fiercely devoted to his partner. He might also be stubborn with his partner and won’t stop an argument or fight until it’s resolved. In addition, he wants to support them financially and aid in their professional development, whether it is through job opportunities or by helping them hone their skills in the industry they work in. I frequently see him travelling with his companion, therefore I assume that he enjoys doing so.

The Myth of Y/N (Korra x Reader UNREQUITED) Part 14
ORIGINS
Y/N'S POV
It's been a few of hours since that incident with the Avatar statue. I've been thinking about it non-stop since then and I have no doubt Jinora can't stop thinking about it either. During breakfast my mind was filled with questions.
Why did that "force" lead us to the statue room?
Who was that old Avatar?
What was that spirity kite behind him?
Why did that statue glow?
How are Jinora and I connected to all of this?
At the moment I'm currently waiting outside of the temple for Tenzin to show up. He told me he will meet me outside in a few minutes as he has to do some stuff first. I'm still thinking about what happened.
"Hello, Y/N. We are ready."
The voice snaps me out of my thoughts, as I turn to my left to see Tenzin with a smile on his face.
"Great." I simply respond, flashing him a smile of my own , and we begin walking to a peaceful spot in the temple grounds. There is no-one else in this area, it's just us. Perfect. That means there will be no distractions.
We get into our normal meditative positions as we always do before the session starts.
"Now, before we begin, I need to make myself clear." Tenzin starts, his eyes staring right into mine. "Just because we are at a spiritual location it does not mean you will receive another vision on your first try meditating here. Do you understand?"
I nod at the airbender's words. "I completely understand, Tenzin."
The son of Aang nods back and closes his eyes. "Excellent. Let's begin. Clear your mind of any distractions. Let them all flow out of your mind like a river."
I take a deep, long, breath and close my eyes. I empty my mind of all the questions, all the confusion, everything. They flow out of the river and I am now at peace.
Tenzin and I stay in these positions for who knows how long. We are perfectly silent, our minds completely empty. After some time, though, nothing has happened. No vision, no voice, nothing. I know what my mentor said but this is frustrating.
After nothing happens for a good portion of time, I decide to end it. I sigh and reopen my eyes to look at Tenzin again, his eyes still closed.
"I'm sorry." I speak up, glancing downwards, "I know what you said and everything, but I'm still getting nothing."
The master airbender reopens his eyes and looks at me, his gaze sympathetic. "It's all right. I can understand how this is frustrating for you. Maybe we should take a break."
I take a deep breathe and nod. "Okay. I just don't get why I have been receiving nothing these past six months."
Tenzin strokes his beard, deep in thought. "Visions can happen at any time and for any reason. Perhaps it was due to your situation. You and Korra were kidnapped by Tarrlok. Perhaps the intensity of the circumstance triggered your particular vision. Remind me again what else happened when you were kidnapped?
I frown slightly in concentration in an attempt to remember all the details. "Well, Korra and I were locked in this metal box. It was cramped, so her and I were really close to each other. Korra was having a vision of her own to try and figure out what Aang was telling her. I decided to mediate myself to calm my own mind and then all of a sudden I had the vision."
I decided not to tell Tenzin about me confessing my feelings to Korra. There is no way we are having that conversation. There is no way anyone is going to find that out. Not yet anyway.
The airbender hums in acknowledgement and strokes his beard again. "Interesting. Perhaps my theory might be correct and it was the situation."
I hum back and glance at the floor for a second.
ONLY JUSTICE WILL BRING PEACE!
I look back up, gazing right into Tenzin's eyes. "I've been having nightmares about it ever since. I keep hearing that voice saying the exact phrase "Only justice will bring peace." It's been the seventh time. It's not a serious problem but it's been concerning to say the least."
The airbender's face softens at my revelation. "I'm sorry to hear that."
"It's okay." I simply respond. "You said that phrase was said to your father by Avatar Kyoshi, right? Can you tell me again about that whole situation?"
Tenzin's face hardens slightly and nods. "Of course. It was during the final days of the Hundred Year War. My father was hesitant on facing Fire Lord Ozai because he feared he would have to take his life. It is one of the core beliefs of the Air Nomads that all life is sacred, even the life of the tiniest spider fly caught in its own web. And my father refused to go against his beliefs. He sought out guidance through his previous lives, one of those being Avatar Kyoshi. Do you remember Chin the Conqueror, Y/N?"
I stroke my chin in thought as I venture through my mind, trying to collect any memory of the name. "Eh, I can partially remember what you told me a while ago. He was trying to take over the whole Earth Kingdom, right?"
The airbender nods at my answer. "Yes, he was. He expanded his army all throughout the kingdom. When he and his forces arrived at the peninsula where Avatar Kyoshi lived, he demanded her surrender. She refused and warned him that she would not sit idly by and allow him to take her own home. But Chin would not back down. As a result, Kyoshi separated her home from the mainland, which ended up killing the conqueror in the process as his stubbornness to not flee led to him falling to his death."
I nod at his words, absorbing all of the information given to me. "That was the creation of Kyoshi island, wasn't it?"
Tenzin hums in confirmation. "Correct.  Avatar Kyoshi used this very example to my father and how because of his death the world entered an era of peace. He tried to counter her by explaining that she technically didn't kill him but it was his refusal to move, but she assured him that she would have done anything to stop Chin. And that's when she said that phrase."
"Only justice will bring peace." I reply, finishing the airbender's recount of that historical moment.
Tenzin nods. "Precisely."
I lean forward slightly in engagement. "She sounds so much different than your father. She was really willing to do anything to stop her foes?"
"It would seem so. Justice was very important to Kyoshi, and she made sure she gave it to her enemies." Tenzin responds.
Huh...that's very similar to what I believe. I believe in redemption and second chances, but some people are just monsters. And those monsters need to be punished severely, to get exactly what they deserve.
"I see." I reply. "But why was that phrase in my vision? We have debated and discussed this countless times and we are still nowhere close to figuring out the answer. We don't know who said it, why it was said, why did I get it. For all we know it might not even be Avatar Kyoshi saying it."
Tenzin's eyes flash with sympathy and leans forward to place a hand on my shoulder, the touch gentle. "I'm sorry you are frustrated with this. I too am curious to know what this all means. But we have to be patient. In time the truth will become clear."
I sigh and nod at his words. Tenzin's right. We need to be patient about this.
I think it's time I tell him what happened.
"I need to tell you something. Something important." I tell the airbender, my tone completely serious.
Tenzin's eyebrows rise in curiosity. "What is it?"
I clear my throat, take a deep breathe, and let it all out. "Yesterday, when we were at the statue room and you were checking on Meelo and Ikki, Jinora and I felt...a force of some kind. I...I don't know how to explain it, really. It was pointing us at something but then it just...vanished. We decided to keep quiet about it until it happened again so we won't look crazy. But last night...that force returned. Stronger than ever. It led us to a specific Avatar statue and then the statue just started to glow for a while before it went back to normal. And that's it. Nothing else. I was wondering if you have any idea what this could be?"
I see Tenzin's eyes have widened at my story but proceeds to calm down a little. "I see. Can you take me to this statue?"
I proceed to lead the airbender back to the statue room and show him that specific Avatar. I can see his eyes widen again and he proceeds to walk a bit closer to the statue. After a moment of silence, he speaks up.
"I have no idea who this Avatar could be. Whoever he was, he existed longer than most judging by the appearance of the statue. And all the statue did was simply glow?
I step closer to the statue too. "Yes, that's all it did. What does it mean?"
I hear Tenzin sigh next to me and walks back a bit. "I'm afraid I don't know. I have never heard of anything like this before."
Even Tenzin doesn't know what this is? Damn. Most of the time he knows everything. That can't be good.
"What do we do?" I ask the airbender.
Tenzin strokes his beard for a moment or two, clearly planning out what to do. Finally, he responds. "For now, we simply wait. If you feel this "force" again, tell me immediately so I can experience it myself. We can figure it out from there. I'm going to have a word with Jinora about it from her perspective and tell her to do the same thing."
I guess that's the only thing we can do, I suppose.
"Okay, cool." I reply. "So, until it happens again, we just simply carry on as usual?"
The son of Aang nods at my question. "Yes. Just relax and enjoy the rest of the day. We will have another meditation session next week."
I nod in confirmation and I walk outside of the temple. I lie on the green, luscious grass and close my eyes in an attempt to rest after what just happened.
This Air Temple trip is just getting weirder and weirder.
LATER
I am in total blackness. I can see nothing, I feel nothing. Where am I?
"Are you ready for our final battle, Raava?"
I turn around quickly to suddenly see a whole spiritual plane surrounding me. At the very centre there is a tree, and on both left and right there are two energy beams sprouting right into the sky. But that's not what I'm looking at. There is a massive kite-like spirit, like the one I saw behind the Avatar on that statue. Its full of darkness and red, long tendrils at its very end following its movement. Is this the kite that I saw earlier?
"Thanks to our friend separating us, I think this time I may be rid of you once and for all."
"Friend?" What is he talking abou-
"-Before you get to her, you'll have to go through me."
I turn to my left and see a male, roughly in his twenties or thirties. His black hair is wild and long, and he has a sharp beard to go with it. Despite looking so young his face is full of experience. Is this the Avatar from the statue?
The dark spirit finds the man's threat amusing, chuckling while he speaks. "No human can stand against me."
He's right...I mean, it's so massive. There's no way he could-
"Haven't you heard the legends?" the man responds, his confidence not faltering. "I'm not a regular human anymore."
My eyes widen at this revelation.
Is...is this the first...?
Then, in a blink of an eye, the man firebends at the dark sprit. An epic battle ensues, firebending and spiritual lasers firing at each other. The human does his best to fight and flee, but the dark spirit does nothing but taunt him throughout until finally he is on his knees.
But the man does not give up. Instead he reaches out. "Raava! The only way to win is together!"
Then, out of nowhere, I see a spirit, much smaller than the other one and full of light, fly right into the man. Suddenly, he beings to glow, spiritual energy leaking out of him. He is full of power. Now he is earthbending, airbending, firebending, waterbending, using each element at his disposal to fight and to flee from his opponent's attacks.
But then all of the sudden I see the man on his knees, his body shaking violently. Is the power too much for him? Is he unable to contain it?
Despite the pain he must be experiencing he continues to fight, dodging the laser cannon from the dark spirit, but its too much. He is sent flying to one of the spiritual energy beams and the dark spirit pins him to the ground with one of his tendrils.
"The Harmonic Convergence is about to begin. The era of Raava is over."
Harmonic Convergence? What in the spirits is tha-
-Before I can finish my thoughts, the two spirit beams begin reacting violently, energy surrounding them until they begin to curve and eventually they combine, creating a small energy boom and the beams turning gold-like yellow, lightning striking the ground in response. What is going on?!
I glance back at the the dark spirit and the man. Both of them begin to glow, the former bright purple and the latter bright blue. The human reaches out to touch the beam and all of a sudden he is encased in pure energy. The violent shaking in his body fades away, and then he screams into the sky above, spiritual energy coming right out of him. A bright light blinds my vision, as I too am encased in the light. When it returns, I see the human standing tall and proud, his eyes pure white.
There is only person I know who can have pure white eyes.
The Avatar.
This man...he is the first Avatar.
The Avatar attacks first, using all of his skill and knowledge to send a tsunami of hits towards the dark spirit and knocking him far away. The master of all elements then encases his opponent in a cage of each and every element: air, earth, water, fire. Using this to his advantage, the man sends him towards the tree in the centre, trapping the spirit inside it permanently!
"This is your prison now." The first Avatar declares to his enemy. "And I will close the portal so no human will ever be able to physically enter the spirit world and release you."
And he does just that, closing the portals one by one after sending all of the spirits back to their own world.
"The spirits must stop fighting with humans and return to their home in the Spirit World. I will teach men to respect the spirits so that balance will be maintained. I will be the bridge between our two worlds. Different groups of people must learn to live together. This is my mission--to use Raava's light spirit to guide the world toward peace."
A bright flash of light appears for a split second and suddenly I'm in the aftermath of a battle. Land consumed by fire, armour abandoned and forgotten. There are bodies everywhere, bloodied and bruised. Some even have their limbs missing. Whatever happened here, it was devastating.
I look to my right and I see a man slumped against one of the circular barriers. At a closer look, I see that it is the first Avatar. He is much different now. The once black hair and beard of his youth now a silver grey, his face weathered and wrinkled, and wearing warrior-like armour instead of simple clothing. He is surrounded by arrows all over. It...it looks like he's dying.
I walk closer to him and he is breathing heavily, looking up at the sky.
"I'm sorry, Raava." the Avatar speaks, his voice now hoarse and tired. "I failed to bring peace. Even with Vaatu locked away, darkness still surrounds humanity. There wasn't enough time."
He sounds so...broken. So defeated.
"Don't worry." an angel-like voice appears suddenly. I'm not hearing it outload...the voice is in my head. "We will be together for all of your lifetimes. And we will never give up."
Then, with one last breath, the Avatar exhales, releasing spiritual energy into the air gently, and enters a forever sleep. The energy dissipates and the last thing I hear is a baby crying: The birth of a new Avatar.
I leap upwards from my bed, sweating intensely. I keep panting and panting as I try to catch my breathe. It's still dark.
What...what was that?!
I can't remember anything, like last time. All I'm left with is a name.
"Wan."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that's it! I hope you enjoyed this chapter despite it being shorter than usual.
Constructive criticism is always appreciated!
See you all in the next chapter! :D
