Day 3 - SPIR

“SPIR” stands for Spirituality, Philosophy, Ideology, and Religion. Without the ancient battle between the Jedi and the Sith, we would not have Star Wars. Without the Rebels fighting the Empire and the Resistance fighting the First Order, we wouldn’t have the epic saga of good vs evil, and how fighting is always worth it as long as we have hope. There are countless philosophies, religious beliefs, and ideologies that make up the galaxy far far away, including some that Star Wars fans create on their own!

At the same time, the reason we wouldn’t have Star Wars without the Jedi is because we would not have the Jedi without the South and South East Asian religions that influenced them--Buddhism and Taoism, for example, but Islam, a MENA religion, is also responsible for many of the aesthetics of the Jedi that we are familiar with today.

Unfortunately, historically, Star Wars has not always represented minority religions with the most respect or dignity. This day is an opportunity for Star Wars fans of any religion to show themselves as they would like to be presented. Whether its headcanons about Padme and the clones being Jewish, or its you putting a piece of yourself into your OCs--or even making up an entire philosophy on your own--we’re excited to see what you all have made for this day!

John The Conqueror And His Two Brothers & His brother Roots.

Let's talk a little about the Johns. But back in Africa, the root workers would use a root that would give the worker strength, prowess, luck and fertility. This root was even edible, and often used in magical talismans and workings. Do to the climate in the U.S. This root doesn't grow in this country, so they sought out the magical knowledge and wisdom of the local Native Americans for similar local herbs. The Native Americans taught the slaves that there were three roots grown locally that together had the power they were looking for.

These roots were: John the Conqueror, Little John to Chew and Dixie John (Southern John - if the name Dixie offends you).

John the Conqueror is a high spirit not the root, he can be called apon for certain situations and a John The Conqueror Root is whole root that's grows from a vine in the south. It is also sometimes called Jalap. It confers virility, strength, the power to overcome obstacles, good luck, love, and success on whoever carries it.

It is not edible, of eaten it can give you stomach problems as it is a powerful laxative, so it is never taken internally.

It is mainly used manly in mojo bags, in jack balls and can be added into an oil that is then used to dress candles, or feed mojo bags. John the Conqueror is included in blends like Success and Eloquence, where it lends a person the ability to overcome any situation and succeed.

You can also use John the Conqueror Oil in candle spells or to feed your root for the same reasons. Basically it is used to amplify a spell.

Little John to Chew: Sometimes called "Court Case Root",

Little John to Chew is mainly used for success in legal proceedings, to get the court to rule in your favor.

Little John to Chew, is edible. It has a piney-gingery flavor. Little John to Chew is included in Court Case Powder and Court Case Oil to help you win over the judge and jury.

Dixie John (Southern John) This root is actually from a trillium plant that grows extensively in the south. It is non-edible, and usually used in whole form.

Dixie John grants the user sexual prowess and helps solidify marriages, fireing them up with passion granting the rootworker some luck in a loveable relationships, and the ability to dominate your spouse. (Now I say dominate remember it just brings out what's already their in your partner. It's not used to dominate someone who doesn't care for you..)

Before you go and try to work with High John remember he's a spirit who works with a person if or when he feels like it, he doesn't have to do anything for you just because your African American you need to build a relationship with him to start.

To Do That I would start with getting a John the conqueror root and a purple candle and just introduce yourself first.

What's Need For A Altar: If you want to work with John I wouldn't recommend to set up a altar. Build a small one you can take down. Because he is a trickster who like to play with people even if he likes you ; so you want him to be a guest not living in house.

Get a Purple Candle, a Big High John Root, some Cheap Liquor, (he likes Holts Cologne too) Playing Cards and have some patience.

Now the last thing I wanted to mention pls Do Not use bacon on his altar because I've heard and read it on sites like Reddit and people believe it. Don't do it There's no such thing as 'High John Bacon'

Also remember rather it's John voodoo, orisha, wicca ancestors etc that can get offended don't just light a candle and beg for something get to know spirit of your planning on working with them.

Dungeon Meshi Spoilers/episode 11 + manga discussion.

The fact that the dungeon meshi anime skipped over namaris and kikis and kakas convo about reviving is still so frustrating to me ahhhhhh

Ive been watching peoples episode reactions and they arent feeling the tension and fear that those in the manga felt from having the rules set up about what can and cannot be done and them having the reveal of falins skull, thus making people think the whole journey was for naught, only to have the rules subverted/violatedwith marcilles reveal that she can ressurrect falin. (And also adding impact for marcile being like

Like some people are like oh shes gonna be ressurrected cause they dont know the rules. They arent feeling as much worry/ devastation as they could have.

They didnt have that dwelling dread that those who learnt the rules had. Nor the oh fuck moment of the skull reveal.

Like they might still add the convo but it hasnt had time to ferment over a few episodes/chapters like it could have. The impact will be greatly lessened.

I got one of those milestone rewards that's a bunch of 7 day boosters and I've finally decided to become insane (grind out master exp to get to rank 30) I made last night nad leveled today like 60 weapons and it got me from the middle of MR 27 to like 1/8th throigh MR 29. I've still got 30 something crafting, which i don't really think will be enough but it should at least be enough of a push that I can get there whenever coda weapons come out.
