HEADCANON: HOW THE BF5 TEXT YOU
Tumblr media
a/n: hello hello how are ya? I know I've been fucking dead for what, 2 years and then I come back giving ya random headcanons and disappear again for a few months and again randomly come back. I'm a goddamn mess and I'm sooo sorry. I just have poor time management skills and poor mental health. And also lack of motivation. Anywayyyys, here are some headcanons which I have been planning to write for a long time but keep forgetting to do so (also I don't know whether this headcanon was already done or not).
Vert Wheeler
Okay, so this man likes to use proper grammar. Will take his time to text back and NEVER the type to leave you on read, because he thinks it’s rude to do so.
He don’t really use the newer slang a lot.
Uses emojis as a way to express his emotions, and it’s quite literal.
Like this man uses the “😭” as a sign that he’s upset.
Uses the “😂”, “😄”, “❤️”, emoji’s quite a lot.
Long paragraphs about how much he loves you, paragraphs about what happened during missions are to be expected.
Agura Ibaden
Just like Vert, she doesn’t really use newer slang.
Only uses ”😀” emoji.
Will only leave you on read if she’s busy. Otherwise she’ll text back.
Will send you multiple texts but not enough for her to blow up your phone with notifications.
Flirts with you A TON. She may not look like a flirt but, she is. Only to you.
Zoom Takazeumi
Uses a TON of newer slang.
He sends you loooong paragraphs if he’s feeling very romantic and if he deeply misses you if you’re away. But if he’s feeling normal and as always being the goofball he is, he likes to send you short multiple messages.
Uses a lot of emojis.
Zoom: Babe, I miss you so much aaaahhhhh Love you!!! ❤️❤️❤️💗💗💗💗💗💞💞💕💓💓💓💋💋💋💋💋❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️❤️‍🔥❤️🥰💗💘💓💞💋💞💋💗💘💓💋💞💕💜🧡🩵💚💕💞💋❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥💕💋💞💕💋❤️🥰❤️❤️🥰❤️🥰🥰💕💕❤️
Never leaves you on read.
Sherman Cortez
Sometimes, you wonder whether if it’s his grandma texting because he texts are so….old people-ish?
He will legit sends you Good Morning and Good Night Images. Something like this:
Tumblr media
Very sweet and romantic when he has a full on convo with you.
He usually never leaves you on read and when he does, expect a bunch of apologies and a string of “I love you”’s
His texts range from short to large paragraphs.
He uses slang rarely
Uses a shit ton of emoji’s like Zoom.
Spinner Cortez
Uses a lot of slang
Uses emoji’s more than words tbh.
Obviously, short texts.
Will leave you on read, and will apologize if you get pissed off.
The type to send you a lot of memes. If someone looks through your text messages with him, it’ll mostly be memes that you send each other and reactions from both of you.
Stanford Isaac Rhodes
He’s British and from the royal family…so no slang. He kind of hates it tbh.
Flirts with you (obviously) and also will have a full on convo with you while he’s on the mission (Vert doesn’t appreciate this)
Will send you audios of him singing songs that he wrote. It’s obviously about you.
Sends you selfies of him with a text saying “I miss you, my little angel”
Short texts, but like a bunch of them. Enough to blow up your phone.
Will get insanely nervous if you don’t text him back within an hour if you’re away.
Tezz Volitov
This man is complicated.
This man just doesn’t text and it’s not because he doesn’t like it. He forgets to message people and let them know that he’s fucking alive.
You have to be the one to message him first and he’ll message you back shortly after. (Or like a day later. Depends on how busy he is)
Does not use emoji’s.
There are days were he is the first one to text and those are verrryyy rare. (DO NOT poke him too much on that, that will make him sulk)
AJ Dalton
Blows up your fucking phone with a long line of messages.
And half of the long line of texts are just him correcting himself from that fucking annoying autocorrect.
Sends a bunch of pictures of himself. Either of him taking selfies with random things he finds during missions or of him making goofy faces.
Replies to your messages INSTANTLY. He’s actually looking forward for your message.
Uses a shit ton of emoji’s as well.

I recently remembered a DEAD fandom I was in and everything just came flooding back.
And now I want to post about it again but when I say the fandom is dead I mean it was really small, to begin with, and it's been over a decade since it ended.
But still so genuinely good.

I’m sorry but nothing will ever irritate me when people recast Spinner due to his voice actor, Gabe Khouth, passing away in 2019 (rest in peace Gabe).
excuse me for my language, but bitch, Spinner is probably, if not, one of my favorite characters of Battle Force 5. recasting him feels so wrong, imo, it ain’t Spinner Cortez without Gabe Khouth voicing him.

so whats ur fav dynamic for fuseshipping (bf5/rs5 right?)
Yep! Fuseshipping/Fusionshipping is my preferred general name for BF5/RS5 (Not together, just with their counterparts).
As for my favourite dynamic, so far this has been stuck in my head for sometime:
BF5 (I want to beat them up)
^
v
RS5 (I can make them worse 👀)
If you want a song, just listen to "The Red Means I Love You" because that song changed the chemistry of my brain and it's for these guys.

Mysterious New Member-Ch 14
Diana strode through the Hub, now empty after the others dispersed. She assumed that at least Spinner was likely to be in the game room and headed there.
She was not expecting to run into Tezz so soon. They almost rammed into each other, and although he was the one to round the corner so abruptly, he still looked disgruntled at the near collision. Diana shared his sentiment, though it had more to do with the fact she was still angry about what he'd done to her car.
"Of all the people to run into right now," she let out, intending for him to hear.
Tezz straightened himself up and glowered at her. "I see you are still in a nasty mood."
"I wonder why," she replied, matching his glare.
Tezz sighed and let his shoulders drop. "If it makes you feel any better, I apologize about examining your car without your permission." He'd told Vert he'd say as much, but even still, he felt annoyed at having to do it. If she didn't want them questioning her then she should have been more forthcoming.
Diana couldn't believe her ears. Not only was that the sorriest excuse for an apology she'd ever heard, but the way he said it implied that she was the one with the problem here. So many rude remarks were going through her mind, but she ignored them all in favor of keeping a decent mood for the day.
Sending him a fake smile he likely didn't recognize, she said, "Sure you do." She then drifted past him, ignoring the look he was sure to be giving her. She had other things to do than deal with him and his attitude right now.
She reached the game room without further incident and was surprised to see it devoid of the Cortez brothers. Agura told her they were out on the test track, trying out some new modifications to the Buster.
Diana saw the way Vert looked at her and couldn't have left fast enough. She emerged from the Hub just in time to catch the Buster skidding to a halt.
"That was awesome!" Spinner exclaimed, jumping out of the hatch. "Now we're tough and fast!"
"Told you it would work, big bro," came Sherman as he hit the ground. "Now if only I could get more than a single boost out of it before it needed to recharge…"
"What are you guys testing?" She hoped the smile she wore looked more genuine than it felt. She was still so wary around the others, always feeling like they were being careful of her. Sherman didn't look apprehensive, but she felt like he was. She hadn't interacted enough with Spinner to really be able to tell, but something—more than likely her nerves—told her he felt the same. She pushed it aside for now.
"Sherman hooked up a new booster to the Buster. We just went from zero to freaking ninety in like, four seconds flat!"
"Actually, it was three-point-seven seconds," Sherman corrected with a grin.
Diana whistled in appreciation. "With that kinda speed right off the bat, you could barrel through half an army of bots."
"Oh man, now that would rock. Hey, Sherm, think we could bump it up to a hundred?"
"Nah, the output would be too much for it to handle." As he said it, he looked thoughtful. It was likely he was contemplating it.
Diana was already running out of conversation. Should she ask them to help her practice more? Do a few laps herself? Maybe she was imposing on their quality time and the two brothers were hoping she'd leave soon. The more she thought about it, the more awkward she felt.
"Hey, I have an idea," Spinner said suddenly. "Why don't we race each other?"
"I mean, yeah sure, okay," Diana said to his mischievous grin.
Spinner was already shaking his head. "I don't mean on the test track. I mean out in the Flats. We can do a little relay race. First one to the rock wall and back wins."
"Now that's something I can't pass up. Think you stand a chance in that thing?"
"Bet you can't do it in the Camaro."
They fell silent.
Sherman looked between his brother and Diana, wondering if she'd caught on to what Spinner was clearly trying to do. Spinner was, admittedly, keeping up a strong poker face despite the situation. And Diana…
For a second it looked like she'd call them out on their game and bail. There a was a moment when Sherman was sure she'd throw a punch at Spinner for the suggestion.
But then her face split into a grin and she said, "You're on."
A few minutes later saw them at their impromptu starting line, engines revving. The Buster, despite its size and power, was put to shame by the burble of the Camaro's exhaust note. Only time would tell if its speed would be called into question too.
"Ready?" Spinner asked over their watch's radio.
"Get set," Diana said back, giving a good rev to the supercharged V8.
"Go!"
Both cars took off, leaving a massive cloud of dust in their wake. The Buster took the lead off the line, but only because Sherman had used the booster. Once it wore off, the Camaro began closing the distance at an alarming rate.
As it approached the Buster, Spinner leaned over to see what Sherman was doing on the dash computer. "Well? Anything weird pop up?"
"Not so far, bro." He gave the tank more gas but the jet black Camaro was still keeping pace. Within several intense seconds they were almost neck-and-neck; the Buster mere inches ahead. Sherman noted the speed at which they were approaching the rock face and started decelerating, intending to do a one-eighty and gun it before Diana could. He was betting on the booster being recharged by the time they were halfway back, that way she wouldn't have time to catch up and would really have to push the engine. If he could get some readings off the car, maybe he could use them to theorize a pattern.
They were yards away from the checkpoint when Diana took advantage of the Buster's shed speed. She dropped a couple gears, spun the tail out, whipped past their front end and was flying back towards the base by the time they'd regained traction from their own turnaround.
"Wow, she is fast!" Spinner said in awe.
Diana grinned at the blue six-wheeler in her rearview. Futuristic alien cars were nice and all, but nothing put a smile on her face quite like the Chevy. She let out a whoop as she floored it and made tracks back to base.
They were several yards away from her when Sherman activated the booster again. The Buster lurched and closed the distance in seconds.
Diana saw them coming in hot and flipped a switch below the radio. The rpms went well above red line as the Camaro's engine roared. She was pushed back into her seat as the car rocketed through the desert, the Buster becoming nothing more than a distant memory.
Sherman could only watch as Diana left them in the dust; he eased off the gas and came to a gentle stop as the Camaro skidded to a halt. He gave a final glance at his screens before nodding to Spinner and getting out.
"That was so not fair!" the elder Cortez cried as he hopped out of the Buster. "You can't just go all Fast and Furious on us out of nowhere like that."
"You mean it's only fair when you do it?" She stepped out into the sun, grin still plastered to her face and heart racing. "I recall you being awfully heavy-handed with your own turbo."
"Yeah, well, it's different when we do it. At least you knew about it."
Sherman and Diana rolled their eyes at Spinner's mock-pout.
"I gotta hand it to you," Sherman began. "You really know how to drive. That one-eighty you pulled back there was flawless!"
Her cheeks grew hot and she hoped they didn't notice. Rubbing her elbow, she said, "Yeah, well, practice makes perfect. You don't grow up with a car-loving dad and not know how to drive."
Sherman nodded. "Well, I think it's pretty obvious I've got some work to do on that booster. Can't have a classic beating me in a race. C'mon, Spin, I'm gonna need your help calibrating."
"Guess this means we're getting from zero to a hundred in four seconds flat?" he asked as Sherman climbed back into the driver's seat.
"A hundred? I bet if I beef up the coils I could get it even faster." To Diana, he added, "We'll be in the shop if you need us."
"Alright. I'll be out here running laps." She waved them off and strode back to the Camaro.
"You get anything, bro?" Spinner asked once they were back in the Hub.
"Oh, I got plenty, Spin." He scanned through the data as he parked the Buster. "With this info I bet we could figure out how her car's putting out so much energy. That was a good call back there. You even kept a straight face."
Spinner rubbed his hands together with a sinister chuckle. "Oh, practice makes perfect alright."
They got out and before Sherman could question him there was a loud pop followed by Stanford shouting in the distance. The Brit came rushing in and they had to contain their laughter.
Stanford was covered head to toe in pink, glittery goo. He was still struggling to wipe it off his face when he ran over.
"I've been ambushed!" The purple of his Shock Suit was barely visible and he was certain he'd be rinsing glitter out of his hair for days. "What kind of monster did this?!" He cleared away the goo and locked eyes with Spinner before stomping towards him. "Don't think you're getting away with this, you heathen!"
Spinner brought his hands up in a defensive gesture. "Hey, don't look at me! That's a brilliant prank and all but glitter is way too much work. And rigging it to shoot in your face with slime too? Nuh uh. One wrong move and it's pretty in pink for days. I'm more of an old-fashioned prankster myself."
Stanford looked confounded. His eyes flicked from one Cortez to the other. "But… But if it wasn't you then… Who was it?"
"Someone with some serious ninja stealth skills, obviously. Zoom was pretty upset about you embarrassing him in front of Grace, after all."
"That traitorous scum. I should've known he'd do something like this." He stormed off to go have a few choice words with the scout.
Sherman stood in shock, having witnessed the whole thing and still not quite believing it. He gave a long-suffering sigh at Spinner's wicked grin. "I guess you have been practicing, huh?"
"You know it. If I can keep this up, I bet I can start a full-on war between all the others. Then I could just sit back and watch."
"You'll have to put your doomsday prank plans on hold until after we've shown this data to Sage. And after I've already left so I don't get involved." He gave Spin a brotherly shove as they headed off to find Sage.

Mysterious New Member-Chapter 5
Vert pulled in first, followed by the others.
"Were you successful in finding the anomaly?" Sage asked as soon as he hopped out. She tilted her head at the look on his face.
"We did one better," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. "We brought her back with us."
"Her?"
The Camaro rumbled to a stop and Diana stepped out, eyes wide. "You, uh... You weren't kidding." She swept her gaze over their hideout before focusing on Sage. She took an uneasy step back, hand resting on her car in case she had to jump back in.
"Relax," Vert said, gesturing for her to calm down. "This is Sage. She's a friend."
"What... is she?" She didn't mean to sound rude but seeing the translucent blue being hovering before her put her in shock.
"She's an alien," Spinner said, appearing next to Diana and startling her. "She's one of the good ones though. Our job is to fight off evil aliens and monsters in inter-dimensional Battle Zones and keep them from attacking the Earth. We're basically superheroes."
Diana, speechless, nudged him away from herself. "I don't understand," she admitted, feeling creeped out. "Aliens? Monsters? I suppose next you'll say mutants."
Agura walked over and led her away from the elder Cortez. "Maybe you should let Sage do the talking. Sage, this is Diana."
"It is nice to meet you," the Sentient said, warm smile in place.
"Um... Nice to meet you too," Diana said awkwardly. She had almost convinced herself that the 'alien' was nothing more than a hologram; some sort of optical illusion. Seeing her up close–the weird circuitry and markings that made up her body, and the life behind her eyes–destroyed that delusion. She stared numbly as the strange being explained the Battle Force 5 to her, the Zones, the Reds and Vandals and Sark, and so much more.
By the end of it, Diana's head was swimming and her stomach sick with worry. "I need to sit down," she said, stepping back and settling onto Reverb. She was sure she looked nauseated.
"I know it's a lot to handle," Vert offered, about to place a hand on her shoulder before deciding against it. "You're probably wondering how you fit into all of this."
"I'm wondering a lot of things right now," she admitted, staring at the floor. "Portals, or Storm Shocks as you called them? I never would've imagined. There really are other dimensions?" It made so much sense and yet none at all.
"It's not what you're thinking," Sherman said. "The Battle Zones aren't their own little worlds with alien life on them. I mean, some of them are, but for the most part you're not looking at an alternate version of Earth." He suppressed a shudder as he thought about the Eclipse Zone and their evil doubles.
"But still," Diana said, in shock. "And here I thought you were a bunch of freaks living in the desert, building weird cars and harassing people." Her fingers gripped Reverb's grille.
"We're sorry about chasing you down like that," said Vert. "But your car was letting off some weird readings that were similar to those of the Storm Shocks. We had to check it out."
"I understand."
"Speaking of your car's abnormal readings, would you care to explain how it generated such power?" Tezz spoke up for the first time since her arrival.
Diana looked at him, face blank. "I'm honestly not sure what you mean. I was just out blowing off some steam. I wasn't trying to tear a hole in the space-time continuum."
"Surely you understand that there is something unusual about that car."
"It's my dad's old Camaro that he gave to me," she said, growing irritated. "Aside from the smell of cheap cigarettes and the fact that it seems to be a bad luck magnet, it's pretty normal."
"Normal does not send out abnormally high energy readings," the scientist countered.
"Yeah? Well, normal also doesn't chase down people who're minding their own business." She leveled a glare at all of them, sans Sage. The Sentient's presence made her uncomfortable.
"Easy," Agura said, stepping between Tezz and Diana and shooting a warning glare at the former. "What Tezz is trying to say, is that our sensors don't pick up ordinary cars. Yours was letting out some serious power that it shouldn't be able to. We just wanted to know why and where you got the tech."
The look on the other girl's face made Diana wish she'd never mentioned her father. "I don't know why your scanners keep picking up my car," she said after a long, awkward pause. "As far as I know, there's nothing special about it. Belts, oil, everything a normal, classic car tends to have. I've certainly never noticed anything while driving it."
"Would you mind if we took a look at it?" asked Sherman.
"I would, yes. It's not that I don't trust you guys–I mean, you're obviously not lying–but I can't say that I know you." She folded her arms. "I'll tell you what; you let me join, and maybe I'll let you dissect the Camaro."
Vert didn't miss the way everyone looked to him. Being the leader did have its drawbacks. He thought about the situation before responding. "You don't have to join us if you don't want to. What we do is dangerous and not for everybody." He knew he was taking a stupid risk here; if she went home they had no way of making her stay silent. She might reveal them out of spite. A part of him was wary of accepting her on the team, however. There was something not right about the girl and he didn't feel as though he could trust her, not like the others. Not to mention whatever was going on with that car of hers.
"It's not like I have anything better to do," she responded.
"I mean, if you've got stuff you need to take care of first..."
"I don't. So what's next?" She tried to hide her unease as they all stared at her, incredulous. The short one–Spinner, she recalled–looked skeptical. As did Agura, Zoom and Vert. The rest just looked some level of baffled or nervous, though Tezz seemed to be trying to analyze her. And then there was the Sentient, who was watching her with an indiscernible expression she didn't like.
"We will have to upgrade your car," Sage said when it looked like no one else would say anything. "I will scan you and convert your current car into-"
"Whoa, hold on, hold on. Is there any way you can just... build the car from scratch?" She pushed herself off Reverb.
Sage blinked. "Of course."
"But why don't you want to upgrade your vehicle to make it more efficient?" Tezz asked, nodding at the Camaro.
She put her hands on her hips. "What part of 'gift from my dad' did you not hear? That car has too much sentimental value to me." She gave him a hard look, to which he scoffed and left the area. She 'hmphed.'
"I will begin the procedure," Sage announced in the ensuing silence. She watched Diana flinch at the scanners suddenly surrounding her and thought for a moment that the girl might respond with violence. She seemed very defensive, though there was no denying the sheer awe in her eyes.
Diana watched the Shock Suit materialize with rapt fascination until the construction of her new wheels caught her eye. The car was built from literally nothing; the mechanical arms piecing together an assortment of parts that quickly formed a vehicle. When it was finished, she took cautious steps over.
"This is seriously mine?" Her eyes roamed over it. Electric blue to match her suit and looking far meaner than the Camaro. She noted the similarities to a '77 Firebird and let out a brief chuckle at how she'd once wanted that car more than anything. It was wider though, had thicker tires and sat lower. The headlights were long and narrow and the body lines screamed futuristic and aggressive, lacking the more boxy look of the '70's coupe. It was everything she'd ever adored and then some.
"That thing is so sick," AJ commented, speaking up for the first time. "What're you gonna call it?"
She turned round to face him. "Hm? Um, I don't know..."
"To complete the upgrade, you must name your vehicle." Sage hovered nearer and observed her.
Diana closed her eyes–ignoring Sage–and wracked her brain for a good name. She wanted something with meaning, something cool and worthy of the car. She opened her eyes and looked back at it. "Whiplash," she said finally, not sure why that of all things came to her mind but liking it anyway. She heard a grunt of indifference–Stanford, no doubt–and for the first time since her arrival in this town, she laughed. "I think I could get used to this," she said when the chuckles died down.
"Glad to have you aboard," Vert said, offering a smile. No backing out now.
She thanked him. After a moment's hesitation, she added, "Sorry about... before. I wasn't trying to be a jerk, it's just-"
"Don't even worry about it," he said, waving her off. "I didn't exactly make the best first impression either." He watched her nod and glance around, unsure. He gave AJ a look and said, "How about we show you around? You'll have your own room and we can move your Camaro into the shop so it's out of the way."
"Sure."
"I'll do it," came AJ as he strode over. "You won't believe how huge this place is." He led her away to the quarters and as she left she kept glancing back at them and her Camaro. She didn't trust them, that much was obvious.
"Do you really think we can trust her?" came Agura as the two disappeared from view.
Vert shrugged. "What other choice did we have? If we let her leave she could've come back for revenge. At least this way we can keep an eye on her." Looking to Sage, he added, "Anything weird about that car of hers?"
The Camaro sitting across from them looked like an average car. No special equipment or parts were visible. Still, it shouldn't have been capable of outputting that sort of energy, however small.
Sage shook her head. "It seems ordinary. However, I cannot scan it for some reason. Somehow it is blocking me. I would have to inspect it more closely to find anything."
"And we can't do that without her knowing," said Spinner from his spot on the front of the Buster. "And even if we did, she'd never trust us again if she found out."
"Maybe we can try to check it out when she's asleep?" Zoom suggested.
"And if she wakes up in the middle of the night to check?"
The scout shivered at Vert's comment, recalling her icy rage from before. "Nevermind. Totally not worth it."
"Like I said, we're just gonna have to keep an eye on her. Maybe once she starts trusting us more, she'll willingly tell us about the car. I guess I can't blame her for keeping secrets. Just... don't try and question her right now. Let's wait until she's less likely to drop out on us, okay?" They all nodded, though some were begrudging, and Vert waved them off, telling them to go about business as usual. Just because they'd gotten a new, highly suspicious member, didn't mean they could suddenly get distracted by playing detective.
Sage would figure out a way to analyze Diana's car in due time, he told himself. Whatever she was hiding would come to light eventually. It just didn't sit well with him to have to keep a potential threat on his team. The girl clearly knew something but wasn't telling. It put him on edge to think of all the what-ifs, including one big one where she had gotten her hands on Sentient tech. That one would keep him up at night for sure.
