HERE ME THE HECK OUT OKAY-

1. After Scott finds out that Jimmy is/did fuse with other gems, he decides to be petty and refuse to fuse with him anymore (which barely lasted), but this lead him to be able to fuse with Pearl and Cleo. Out of sheer pettiness.

2. Owen and Scott were the first human/gem fusion to happen and it was to stop the Bad Boys gems from doing something extremely stupid.

3. Martyn and Ren fuse in secret, but when other members of their unit began go get suspicious Ren gaslights them (because he's a higher rank) and they mysteriously dispear after a "talk with Martyn"

4. When Scar/Spinel goes evil, they do so because they feel as if they're being forgot as newer gems come around. Him and Grian were the first "defector", and want that bond to be something special. (kinda like Scott's story but instead of just refusing to fuse Scar gives in to his negative emotions)

5. Pearlescentmoon/pearl was meant to be Scott's pearl but they were separated before they actually met, and they find it weird how they get along so well.

6. Impulse and Mumbo will be the first to engage with human life, before immediately trying to kill it. That human being X. He'll get over it tho

Okay, let's start with the the adults!

I can see Xavier as a fusion between a White Sapphire half and a Moss Green Pearl half, making Green Moonstone Xavier!

Storm is a Lapis Lazuli half and a Grossular (White) Garnet half, making her Turquoise Storm!

Logan would probably be a Jasper half and and a Morion Jasper half, making Hawk's Eye Logan!

I can see Beast as a fusion between a Sodalite half and a Blue Topaz half, making Kyanite Beast!

Magneto would be an Iron half and a Tungsten half, making Magnesium Magneto!

Mystique would probably be a Blue Quartz half and a Dumortierite half, making Holly Blue Agate Mystique!

Sabretooth likely would be a Lemon Quartz half and a Biggs Jasper half, making Tiger's Eye Sabretooth!

Now, I'm not sure about the teens/younger gems, but I can think on it some more...

Kitty is likely a Pink Pearl half and a Morganite half, making her a Rhodochrosite Kitty!

Kurt would possibly be a Blue Spinel half and a Skinny Blue Quartz half, making him a Sodalite Kurt!

Rogue could be a Ruby half and an Emerald half, making her an Anyolite Rogue!

Jean would be an Auburn Pearl half and a Cherry Quartz half, making her a Fire Opal Jean!

Scott would be a Brown Sapphire half and a Ruby half, making him a Pyrope Scott!

Evan would be a Fossil Coral half and a Topazolite (Yellow) Garnet, making him a Howlite Evan!

I'm not sure about the Broterhood teens yet, or the Acolyte teens, but I'm working on it...

"We had no way of stopping him from doing this, and we couldn't fight against Aquamarine or Topaz due to Aquamarine having some era 2 technology I've never seen before and Topaz was holding the humans captive within her body through fusion." Pearl shuddered in disgust at the thought.

Usopp would be a pearl

Mostly because of the noise

Luffy a spinel 

Controversial opinion but Nami deserves to be a diamond (usopp is her pearl)

Nope, yep, yep, check out @where-does-the-heart-lie 's gem au if u want a more put together au but here are my takes:

Luffy's a spinel and Garp took him in because spinel's are some of the toughest rocks in the verse but gems brush them off because they're too silly to be soldiers, also because stretchy

Zoro's a quartz (Vermarine, the green kind) but he was stronger than all the other vermarines in his kindergarten so he dipped because he wasn't interested in any of them or any superior

Nami's a diamond but she doesn't know it because her mother was a human that found her after she emerged overcooked in a kindergarten abandoned after a war. She isn't sure what rock she is but her mother always just said she was a tough one.

Usopp's a Peridot - an overcooked one that's more lanky and less willing to be subservient but still very inventive.

Sanji's a pearl - one of the specially cultivated battle pearls, though he emerged early and was shorter and thinner than his brothers and sister. His kindergartner/father didn't have the guts to shatter him so Sanji ran away. As far as regular pearls go, he would be completely normal if it weren't for his attitude

Chopper's a labradorite because it's his nose, it's blue and it's the only Canadian-discovered gem I know off the top of my head. He's supposed to evaluate terrestrial species based on danger to a kindergarten and wipe out species that could harm a kindergarten, but he likes them too much. He shapeshifts a lot like most labradorites to to fit in smaller spaces or take down larger species, but he does it more to fit with his emotions

Robin's an amathest that was too smart for her own good and ran away to join a human colony for a few hundred years and learned from them, but then her colony got slaughtered and she got chipped, so now she has too many arms and chronic pain

Franky is a bismuth because it's just. So him.

Brook is a fusion of a couple hundred pebbles, he won't unfuse for anything, but he's a little crazy because his mind is kind of like a bee hive.

Jimbe is a lapis lazuli that was way overcooked and took a lot extra out of the earth than he was supposed to. He feels bad abt this, but it made him wise and also very large for a lapis (he's probably 3 lapis's actually but he thinks like only 1 so he doesn't think it counts)

I wanna talk about ‘reset’ Garnet for a second.

She started with Sapphire saving Ruby. Which was a flip of the original story.

There may have been some fear or confusionwith her fusion but she was just so happy when she fused. And she was safe with people who loved and wouldnt judge her.

More so they were actually happy to see her.

And then she saw them fuse during ‘independant together’ Steg and Opal. And learned that she wasnt different or strange. She was loved. And she is love.

Its the fusion experience Ruby, Sapphire and Garnet all deserved and it made me very VERY happy.
