"Spicy Korean Stir Fried Chicken"

(It’s my own version of stir fried chicken after reading some blog)

Ingredients:

1 tbsp butter

1 tbsp sesame oil

1k chicken

1 big onion, peeled and sliced

1 carrot, peeled and julienned

1 napa cabbage, at least 4 to 5 slices

2 spring onions, finely chopped (for garnishing)

1 tsp sesame seeds, toasted

Chilli Sauce

3 tbsp gochujang (Korean hot pepper paste)

1-2 tsp red chilli powder (optional)

1 tbsp light soy sauce (you can use kikoman)

1 teaspoon grated ginger

1 tablespoon grated garlic

1 tablespoon finely chopped spring onion

1 tbsp sugar

1 tbsp sesame oil

 Pinch of salt and pepper

Direction:

In a bowl, mix together all the chilli sauce ingredients and set aside. 

For the chicken, heat the buter and sesame oil in a wok until almost smoking. Add the chicken and brown it all over, then continue to stir-fry until it is almost cooked.

Add the onion, carrot and napa cabbage and cook for a further minute. Add the sauce and bring to the boil.

Serve the chicken garnished with sesame seeds and spring onion.

Note:

You can always add other veggies and mushroom.

I prefer using a butter and sesame oil (it gives more flavor), but you can always use vegetable oil for cooking.
