I have been doing some quick fast head sketches past couple of days. To improve on drawing faster and trying to make lil mistakes as possible.

Here’s a super fast and loose sketch of THE NEW WARRIORS!! As a ten year old, I remember distinctly seeing issue #1 of this issue on the stands and being absolutely magnetized to it. The only character I recognized was Firestar from the early 80s “Spider-Man & His Amazing Friends” cartoon. The rest were an enigma. I devoured that comic and wanted more. To insure I never missed an issue (growing up in a small town with no comic book shop and spotty orders where comics could be found) I begged my Mom to let me get a subscription. These cats were as cool to me as the Avengers, the X-Men, or the Fantastic Four, maybe moreso in some ways, because they were more relatable. They struggled. They had family issues and school problems. They didn’t quite have a mastery over their abilities. They essentially were kids or very young adults with incredible super powers trying to prove themselves in a world of Legends and Myths. That early run by Fabian Nicieza and Mark Bagley is a total blast. I’ve said for a long while now that I’d LEAP at thexgance to write and draw a New Warriors title for @marvel maybe even in a retro sense. A chance encounter with a dimension of kinetic energy led Robbie Baldwin to a path of heroics as the hero Speedball with his imperviousness to physical and psionic harm, and a control over kinetic energy. After the Stamford incident which led to the Superhuman Registration Act and the first Superhuman Civil War. This however, caused Speedball to gain a darker edge as he became Penance, who gained increased control over kinetic energy but at the cost of self-harm. On a relatable level, I drew him because I felt like I was bouncing around with so many tasks.
