It’s Batman and Robin… Robin and Batman? Well, I’m pretty sure that’s Bruce and Dick under there, at any rate.

welcome to my side blog! Here, I post comic-related shenanigans. I like both DC and Marvel, though I prefer the former because the MCU hurt me personally. I do fanart and my edits are on tiktok via @/uttervernocity. I’m a man of many tastes, including Lego Ninjago, Percy Jackson and a lot of Harlivy. My favourite Batfam member is either Duke or Jason Todd. I have very charged opinions about comic obscure adaptations (looking at Moon Knight) and I love to talk about Dick Grayson.
All I ask is that people who aren’t respectful of good-faith identities, Zionists and typical bigots stay away from interactions. I’m just here to point and talk about comics, not necessarily engage in human rights debates. Have a good day and kiss your mother for Dick Grayson!

Bruce shuffles out of bed at Alfred's behest and tries to make himself presentable. He's got a meeting later with some of the board to help with the Flood Relief Fund and Alfred will yell at him if he tries to hide on the roof again.
Sighing, he opens his laptop to check his work email when he remembers: Today is May 1st. It's the premiere of The Gray Ghost reboot. Hands shaking, he pulls up the streaming platform it'll be on. This is the first Gray Ghost content they've gotten in over fifteen years. His childhood and teen years had been devoted to the show; Gray had gotten him through so many rough patches. He has every single line of dialogue memorized. Every single comic and tie-in book and t-shirt and action figure are in his Gray Ghost room. He sees episode one pop up and presses play.
They better not mess this up.

Also you really don’t want to have a comic-accurate MCU
Hot take but people need to stop gatekeeping comic related media. I'm seeing this everywhere, all the time, and it's exhausting. Just let people enjoy things jfc, you aren't 'better' than other people because you enjoy a specific comic related media over another.
People who solely read the comics and look down on people who enjoy the movies, shows or games? Grow up, who cares if they didn't exactly follow the comics? It's an adaptation.
I don't care if you watch the CW shows, the HBO shows, Teen Titans, Young Justice, JLU, Teen Titans Go, the DCEU, the DCAU or if you just read the comics, you don't get to gatekeep who's actually a dc fan and who isn't.
People are allowed to have different opinions and like different things.

someone may have said this already but I love that this Bruce has an actual living representative of his inner child. like the mayor’s kid is a portrait of him at the most difficult and traumatizing part of his life, where both he and Alfred have been stuck for literally 20 years, and while it’s obviously overwhelming for him to witness the mayor’s son reliving his past, he also gets to take action and physically protect the kid
Alfred did everything he could to protect Bruce but imagine if he had a vigilante/hero looking out for him. even as a traumatized little kid, it would make you feel so important to have that guy in your side. it reminds me of that post about the bikers who go after child abusers, like yeah he’s scary but the scary guy is on his side and that’s comforting.
also, inner child healing work is so much about imagining what it would be like if adult you could be there for that hurting kid. Bruce gets to do that externally. jump in front of a car? yep. pull him out of a flood? sure thing!
