Does sepau!Leo still like magicians/magic like he does in the show? Mostly referencing off the "clothes don't make the turtle" episode, curious if it's the same pretty much in your au
Hm, well. Maybe? Human magic shows are really cool considering magic doesn't actually exist in real life, and the fact that magicians are able to use tricks to make it appear like actual magic is happening.
But if Leo grew up surrouned by yōkai, who use actual magic all the time, including HIM, doesn't human fake-magic kinda lose it's appeal...?
At the same time, maybe Leo would still appreciate that, humans being able create the illusion of magic through "smoke and mirrors" and such. Making it seem like magic is being performed when it isn't really is honestly incredibly impressive on it's own.
With that in mind, I'd like to think Leo would have a lot of appreciation for human magic shows

the discourse rn is so funny. movies don’t have to be good to get a wide release in theaters and they don’t even have to be crowd pleasers. movies should be released in theaters bc they’re MOVIES. no other justification necessary.

Been looking at your all the worlds a stage posts and i am OBSESSED. its so good i want to eat it
thank you!! I'm glad to hear it sshshdhd ....to think.... it started out as a goofy thing because I was reminiscing about theater & backstage melodrama and had a WILD moment where I was overcome with a desire to draw caesar and cassius making out....and now, months later, there's a first draft! & hopefully I'll be able to find the time to draw some more polished comics with that story now that there's something resembling a plot I can rely on :)

the thing is sometimes I have thoughts about musicals and one of musicals I think about a lot is pippin and how much I love the buildup of the finale. like the use of The Sun is an interesting way to sell the tonal dissonance of a very chipper song that’s essentially the ensemble cast trying to get pippin to set himself on fire. but the subject being what it is, I feel like it’s a bit uncouth to burst in like ‘hey let’s talk about the meta-narrative suicide baiting that happens in pippin and how cool it is’

what’s your favorite movie score?
I had the privilege of seeing Lawrence of Arabia in an actual movie theater once - that's already a fantastic score watching it at home on a television... but in a theater? With a theater sound system?
Really, though - it was a lifetime-level experience. Cannot recommend it highly enough if you ever get the chance.

I thought there was something to idea of the TMZ reporter being a cyclops who calls himself Nobody and gets killed in an act of hubris, but actually him getting told by Em Haywood, “Your loss, nobody.” and the fact that he’s an heir to the Muybridge name whose personhood is reduced to the status of a camera is way more narratively powerful
