I find it so strange when people say things like

Jackson Jekyll and Holt Hyde aren’t a mixed race narrative! Stop muddling the story!

Because like, did we watch the same monster high…?

Ghouls Rule was deadass about how if you’re mixed you get persecuted by both sides of your ethnicity. Like that was the plot they even had dumbed down police violence. Remember that?

And the target of that? Oh yeah, Jackson/Holt.

I feel like people really forget that at the end of the day gen 1 monster high WAS a narrative about race and acceptance. That extends to Jackson/Holt.

I know I've said in two different posts now (and a whole few asks) that I'm leaving the fandom and I'm tired of it but I've never specified why nor have I left it alone. These two posts from a while ago are a few examples of the red flags I've seen with yfm and RWJ. Post 1 talks about a theory that Ray faked his "first drawings" of Puff and DeeJay. Yeah. Pretty crazy, right? I looked through it but it made points too good to ignore, the papers shown in video are in too good of a condition to look like 12-14 year old drawings, and then the same video shows the drawing altered to have DeeJay next to him??? Weird...

This really didn't surprise me when I saw it, Ray's been extremely disingenuous with what he says bout yfm, he said Puff is a separate character and that animators got it wrong when in reality he was always meant to be a representation of him until yfm entered gen 1.5

Specified in one of his =3 videos (couldn't find it), Ray himself says (That Puff) it's him, the yfm channel (if you go back) even lists a RWJ collab as yfm and it's crazy as shit... he's been a liar this whole time about these things...

Another thing is the fact he striked down a whole YouTube channel (in post 2) and I can only assume it was because it had clips of yfm lost media and the one Dispensary girl fan animation. Oh yeah that got striken down a long time ago. I had to use the wayback machine to watch it and it's so awesome. Ray also took down a buncha lost media (announcement vids, mentions of the canceled album, just stuff that isn't on the channel) and somehow gets everyone to hush about it.

Ray also collaborated with Dhar Mann. We all ignored it for some reason but he spent time and effort, collaborating with the same man who makes his actors take up 70 different roles in daily videos end up barely affording rent and making their work space a living hell. And the ONLY REASON HE STOPPED, was because he managed to make the internet talk about him in a bad way.

Along with collaborating with shady people, he also... doesn't take criticism well... he deletes any comments on his vids about how he should improve and ignores any criticism. And it's not just on the yfm channel or his... it's EVERYWHERE. I don't think he didn't see the criticism received for gen 2 (I don't mind it but I hate how Axel got the Knuckles treatment) hell, he actively JOKES about the fandom freaking out about art style changes. He KNOWS the criticism he received but he never took it to face value... he laughed in our face and distracted us with Puff's relationship issues because it's the most character we've received in 12 years.

The fandom creates the characters for Ray at this point. They put in the effort to make the characters and give them quirks while Ray just plops him next to Wax and makes them rap about money or something...

Idk I've been on a tangent, I made this post because I found out not a lot of people know this stuff (it was one convo but I decided to just share the info I know to more people)

1. What makes you the most emotional about your muse?

// LISTEN fite me about it, but as much as I joke and comment about in an odd funny light... But Blaine’s workaholic behavior and mannerism IS extremely damaging to himself and those around him.

Contrary to whatever tumblr uwu has to say about these types of muses, but Blaine’s entire existance had been sucked out of him by his passion for science.

When I write Blaine, I’m writing a man whose life had been claimed by the one thing he sworn his life to. He never developped all that many meaningful bonds- mr.Fuji is the only one who got to meet the other Blaine, and in his eyes he feels like he lost his friend years ago.

If it seems to be and sound like a shallow as well as a lonely existance, it is because it really is. There is no sugarcoating here.

Some other things that makes me quite emotional about him- is the fact that he is supposed to be the oldest gym leader in the Kanto region, so he has pretty much witnessed a LOT of the things that took place long before the gen 1 games’ events took place. He worked alongside Giovanni, watched his former colleagues being swapped out by the current League members... Honestly there is so much worldbuilding to be had here.

And lastly- the whole Mewtwo debacle, that is another big one alright. So proud of this old man, even though they created something- that no one has any real resemblance of control over.

2. What made you decide to write this muse?

Juan has always been my favorite gym leader of the Hoenn region! (if not my favorite character, out of the gen 3 bunch- it is a tie between  him and Drake most of the time tbh).

1. My favorite place to be is the forest! As a child literally all I did was wander into forests and build forts/ forage for things and explore nature. I also quite like being in the ocean, even though I am absolutely terrified of it the ocean is so beautiful that I can usually put my fears aside for a bit

2. My favorite book genre is YA Fiction/ Fantasy/ Romance, usually any combination of the previously mentioned genres is really all I read. I love Fantasy and suspense together especially.

3. My favorite color currently is blue, I bounce between all the colors though. All of them can be very pretty I love colors :D

11. Talk about your favorite first kiss

This might just be because I saw it while scrolling through my likes, but Nick and Jess’ first kiss from New Girl is still...fucking goals, man. I guess the fact that I shipped them for ages before it happened helped, too lol. 

15. Have you ever “shipped at first sight”?

When I love a character or a ship, it usually happens at first sight. I make up my mind pretty quickly, and since shipping (to me) is based on this...unnamed thing that just exists between characters, I usually notice it the first time they’re together, for example when I watched ATLA and Katara and Zuko interacted. My heart just went “THIS IS IT”. (Though interestingly enough, I don’t think I immediately shipped Luca x Hotaru, that happened more gradually.) 

16. Talk about a ship you initially disliked

Dislike is a strong word. I don’t actively dislike a lot of ships (really only those that would “infringe” upon my OTPs lol), and if I do dislike something, I usually never end up shipping it. I do however usually end up disliking something less and less over time until eventually my emotions re: a specific ship are largely neutral. I think nowadays I’m fine with Mikan x Natsume, whereas I used to skip everything that contained even an atom of that ship. Writing it myself helped, I suppose, since I can get rid of the stuff I dislike if I’m the one writing the dynamic.

Spoilers for Bioshock Infinite: While playing that game, I lowkey shipped Elizabeth and Booker. It was an enjoyable dynamic, she’s really the only “good” character you get to interact with, etc. But by the end of the game, you find out she’s your daughter, which made me switch from “I ship this” to “Yeaaaah no” in an instant. I guess that’s a bit more than just questioning a ship, haha. Stil like it as a friendship / family relationship though! Also, every time Eric and Charles fight and hurt each other in Xmen I want to stop shipping them (THEY TREAT EACH OTHER LIKE CRAP SOMETIMES) but then I remember why those characters act the way they do and I just can’t let go. I’m stuck with those two idiots. 

20. Talk about a ship you feel alone in shipping.

HOTARU X LUCA. A THOUSAND PEOPLE COULD SHIP IT AND I’D STILL FEEL ALONE. Plus, there’s people who write it in a way that makes me go “????? Are we talking about the same characters????” which is difficult. Also, I ship Finn and Rey in Star Wars (THEY’RE SO WHOLESOME) and a lot of people would rather see Finn X Poe so I’m #conflicted because representation is great but I can’t help but love my two boos ya know?

Uh. Most of my het ships are canon (shocking!!!) and most of my non-het ships aren’t. But I’d say overall it’s 50/50. Sometimes I get lucky, sometimes I don’t and if the fan support for that particular pairing is strong enough, it really doesn’t matter either way.

4. Hitchups (How To Train Your Dragon) by The Antic Repartee because I fell in love with HTTYD but yearned for a bit more world building and more...mature themes, and this fantastic 300k fic offers both!!!! Hurray!!!

5. Notes Concerning Certain Performances of Hamilton (Hamilton) by scioscribe because it’s probably the best oneshot I have ever read as well as such an....amazing, philosophical and well thought-out idea. I re-read this regularly and cry every single time.
