What If Kitty Pryde Stayed on Spartax?

So, I’ve been thinking a LOT about what would have happened if Kitty Pryde had decided to stay on Spartax with Peter Quill instead of returning to Earth after The Black Vortex, Secret Wars (2015) and the Guardians series that followed. Like, imagine Kitty not just as the First Partner of Spartax, but as a major player in galactic politics, a warrior-queen in her own right.

She wouldn’t just be “Peter’s fiancée.” She’d be out there negotiating peace treaties, overhauling outdated Spartaxian policies, and probably leading a strike force to take down the next big cosmic threat. And you know she’d have some badass ceremonial armor—part Spartaxian royal, part X-Men, part Guardian of the Galaxy. Maybe even her own elite guard?

But also… what would this mean for the X-Men? For mutantkind? Would she try to bring Earth’s mutant struggle to the stars? Could she convince her mother to join her on Spartax? And what happens when the next big war comes knocking—does she side with her home planet or her new one?

SO MANY POSSIBILITIES.

Would she thrive as a cosmic leader? Or feel trapped in a role that’s never quite fit? Would she and Peter last, or would they ultimately outgrow each other?

@solaridust and I were discussing how the mcu does NOT do justice to the guardians. I WAS WAITING FOR THIS ONE!! The MCU butchered Mantis & Drax. I will never ever forgive Gunn for not giving us bastard prince Peter Quill.

Could you elaborate on what you said about Quill in relation to Defenders: Beyond? That's a book I've been meaning to get to but keep putting it on my to-read list, so I wasn't aware of any MotS or Quill related sun connections being in there :o

It's just a tiny reference, as the book is obviously focused on the Defenders.

It's been a while since I've read it but essentially, in one of the past multiverses of Marvel, people were less... people as we know them now and more "of x" (ie Steve rogers is "of past" tony stark is "of future") and Peter Quill is "of sun" which considering the title "Master of the Sun" and Gamora envisioning the galaxy as Peter..... there's definitely something that Ewing was cooking up there and it's a shame to see it tossed out in favor of a Spartax plot.

i still think its really funny that i started affectionately calling quill "princess" without even realizing that in many instances he is literally a space prince. like ok. ok.
