Valencia after the rain. The city has been mostly spared, but the metropolitan area to the south and east and a lot of the neighbouring countryside are devastated. Several towns and villages are isolated, some without water, electricity or phone reception. Firefighters, Guardia Civil and the Emergency Military Unit are working around the clock.

In malls and industrial parks, like the one in the video, workers have had to barricade themselves inside shops, warehouses and cinemas for the night because local authorities didn't declare an emergency until 20:00 and managers didn't allow staff to leave until it was too late.

i wish there were more mainstream southeast asian-american stories

#i feel like a lot of the asian-american narratives i see are centered around east asians which isn't a bad thing;#i'm happy they get to tell their stories. but their stories aren't mine and it doesn't feel right to say they are.#yeah i'm mixed asian but the culture i grew up in #was predominantly filipino and so i associate myself with that aspect of my ethnicity more. being japanese is weird to me #straying away from the whole point of this post but being filipino (american) in general is so weird to me #like i'm asian but because of the spanish influence on my culture i'm not asian 'enough' compared to my other asian peers #one time in first grade i did a project on the philippines and wrote: 'the philippines is in asia.' to which my teacher told me it wasn't #which spurred my first identity crisis: if i'm not asian‚ then what am i?#🐰
