That one art trend from Tik Tok where it's your OC before and after trauma. Shane certainly has gone through a lot and while i think he technically hasnt been trauma free since he was a baby I'm counting the last time he felt genuine happiness.

First picture he's 14-15 second he's an undetermined age as I haven't quite figured it out when everything happens in his store. More than likely he's 27.

also while i'm at it, noctis has known most of his life that he's going to die at a younger age than most ( and, before regis' death, was actively watching his responsibilities sap the life out of him ). it's the fate of the kings of lucis and the price they personally pay to safeguard their people. noct's genuinely terrified to become king, even before the revelation from bahamut about what his fate as the king of kings truly means

when i tell you that knowing his fate has altered how he interacts with others and the world around him, that's an understatement. knowing has shaped some of the worst parts of himself and only helped to escalate his poor mental health once he reached his teen years

The warm rays, no doubt searing and destructive from up close, fell over Moonlight’s face like ocean waves in summertime as they drifted. The explosion rushed outwards, setting lightyears of void aglow, casting their radiance onto every glinting fragment of debris around them.

“Wow… I figured a supernova would look breathtaking, but this…”

“I am glad you…like it, Mx. Moonlight.”

G’s voice echoed from all around them, soft and omnipresent.

“Of course, I have… witnessed many a…‘supernova’ in my many… eternities of existence, yet none quite so… ‘breathtaking’ as this one, as you may say. Though it… may just be that I have the… pleasure of, ah, watching it with you, little creator.”

An awkward laugh stumbled from Moonlight’s throat.

“Thanks…”

The stellar waves roared on in the distance, sending sprays of nebulae alive with colour in every direction. Moonlight had read about these swan songs of a giant stars life many times before, and this one certainly lived up to its name. It did not look like a death, it looked like a beginning, the blazing, vibrant beginning of something new.

“It’s almost… too beautiful to be the end, isn’t it? Y’know, us humans always see the stars as these immortal, unchanging things. Our ancestors used them to navigate at sea because, even when there’s nothing to recognize for miles, there will always be stars to guide us. And just seeing one… go, like this… it’s weird to think about, and… a little sad…”

Moonlight turned their gaze from the explosion ahead of them to the glinting abyss beneath their feet, dotted with millions of stars, just as startlingly temporary as the dying one before them.

They felt something gently touch their shoulder. G stood next to them in human form, seemingly unsupported, a caring electric blue glow in his eyes, one directed at them, the other wandering deep into space. Turning to look at him, Moonlight leaned closer to his chest; his presence, more tangible than ever, was comforting.

“All things in this Existence… ‘go’, eventually, my dear. I have… witnessed many… things I thought would never leave my side fade away, yet I have also… found countless new encounters that have brought new…light to my life.”

G put his arm around Moonlight. With their head pushing into the soft fabric of his jacket, they could hear his heartbeat; a distant, strangely rhythmic pulsing from Somewhere that was not quite his chest, constant, eternal. If even stars could disappear, then… Moonlight slowly formed the question that came to their mind.

“Will… you… ever… ‘go’?”

G paused for a moment, then replied.

“To something like… me, ‘death’ the way you see it is almost as impossible to accurately imagine as… ‘eternal life’ would be for you, my dear. I have existed a very long… time, and I will be here for… as long as there is a Somewhere to make a better place, yet it is not impossible that when… our Worlds do come to an… ‘end’, I may follow suit. Split myself apart so that, when all ‘ends’ become ‘beginnings’, what was once ‘me’ may become something… new, hm?”

Moonlight clung to G even tighter.

“Answer me… this, little creator. Can matter be destroyed?”

It couldn’t, they remembered this. Pulling away slightly, Moonlight shook their head.

“Can energy be destroyed?”

Moonlight shook their head again.

“But… they change form, right?”

“You cannot be more…correct. When matter and energy drift apart, we see ‘ends’, hm? When matter comes together, there is space. When energy comes together, there is time. When space and time come together, there are ‘beginnings’, and, eventually… consciousness. Now, tell me, Mx. Moonlight… does anything ever truly… ‘die’?”

The answer emerged on Moonlight’s face in the form of a smile as they looked up into G’s vibrantly glowing eyes, brighter than any stars and both fixed on their glowing expression.

Chuckling softly to himself, G raised his arms in a wide arc, and reality responded to his call. The nebulae, once drifting ever so slowly from the site of the supernova, washed outwards all around them, shards of elements like shoals of multicoloured fish rushed past Moonlight’s hands until the site of the supernova has unraveled completely. G took Moonlight’s hand in his own and pointed upwards, where, in the distance, faster than the eye could see, streams of nebulae were reforming at a swirling glittering point, almost too fast and too bright to look at.

Igniting, massive, vibrant and warm even from a distance, the new star came to life among a stream of nebulae. Moonlight’s voice dropped to an awed whisper.

“Wow… that’s… incredible… did you do that?!”

G looked up at the newborn star alongside them.

“I only, ah, sped it up a little so you may see it, Mx. Moonlight. It would be rather… rude of me to take, ah, credit for your little universe’s hard work, hm?”

They floated together in the light of something new for a little while.

7) is there something that would cause your oc to question their identity?

Tristan: absolutely yes. Literally everything. He doesn't have any sort of strong grasp on his identity at all and deals with that by ignoring it completely.

Orion: probably not. He's very chill about his queerness, if he was attracted to a woman he would just be a gay trans guy who happened to be into a woman at one point. It's never been particularly stressful or important to him.

Olive: no, not really. They've figured their gender out pretty completely and they're bi and some type of greyrose so no type of attraction would really throw them off.

Altar: Yeah, but he wouldn't be too upset by it. If she suddenly started strongly preferring one set of pronouns, or if they/them became an option for her, I think she'd just accept that and try to figure out some new way to understand her gender. His sexuality is already a confusing mess and he is happy with being completely unable to understand it, so it changing wouldn't be distressing to him at all. That's literally just how it is

Hermes: Yeah, but Brachyura (one of his symbiotes, the AI) would probably figure it out too fast for it to be an issue. He's pretty anxious about stuff like that and on his own would be in a constant state of uncomfortable questioning and self doubt, but Brachyura would just. Figure it out for him. Brachyura already told him he was trans when he was 8 or 9 so it is very much possible. He's solidly achillean right now though

13) would they be open to a poly relationship? Why or why not?

Tristan: honestly no. Even in an ideal world where he knew more than one other person, he's just a very 1 on 1 person and would get jealous really easily.

Orion: again, in an ideal world, he would really want to be, but even having one partner would be a lot for him. He's kind of obsessive at times and can be insecure as hell.

Olive: they literally just don't understand why the standard is mono relationships. If you can be friends with more than one person, why not date more than one? They're in a poly relationship with Altar and Hermes rn so it'd be a bit weird if they weren't open to that.

Altar: she is very strongly polyamorous. Even if he's been in one or two mono relationships, he is and will always be polyamorous.

Hermes: he doesn't really care either way, and being in a relationship with him is a bit of a poly relationship anyways, with Brachyura and Procyon. He's mostly been in mono relationships before, but it really isn't a big deal to him.

20) have your ocs helped you with self discovery?

No lmao I've known I was queer before I started writing queer stories. They've never helped me in any way lol

every time I see a human talking about "how cool it would be to have superpowers" or some shit like that I loose it a little bit more. do these people realize that being a mutant isn't just fun powers. like even beyond the shit I deal with trying to get jobs or all the relationships that have been ruined once people realized I'm a mutant. abilities aren't just fun and games, I have a friend who can't touch people without nearly killing them, I burned down three buildings before someone finally taught me to control my abilities, and these people are all like "wouldn't it be great to fly to work every day??" just admit that you see us as comic book characters and not real people with real struggles
