Today's highlight is taking the high speed rail from Kaohsiung's Zuoying Station to Taipei's Main Station in just a little over 1.5hrs. It costs us S$50/pax from @klooktravel and the tickets can be used at anytime on the chosen booking date. We purchased our tickets online days in advance, but because the lane/counters for advance purchase and same day ticket purchase are the same, we still have to queue which defeats the purpose. ナルワンサーフの思い出🌺 その昔、台湾で波乗りをするために、台湾の最南端で『ナルワンサーフ』というサーフショップに行った。当時は、まだインターネットの初期で、どこのホームページも粗雑なノート書きのようなものだった。近辺を調べようといろいろなホームページを見ていたら、山賊が出るなんて書いてあるホームページがあって、少し怖かったな。あの話は本当だったのかな。台湾南の大都市『高雄』から地図を頼りに、言葉もわからず、行き先もよくわからなかったけど、とにかくバスに乗り込んだ。一時間以上バスに乗り、言葉はわからないが親切なバスの運転手が降りるバス停を教えてくれた。そしてナルワンサーフにたどり着いた。現地の中華料理屋さんを教えてもらった。その時食べたチャーハンが絶品で今でも忘れられない。いよいよ台湾の海へ。当日はそんなに波は大きくなかったが、十分楽しめた記憶がある。海から上がったらめっちゃ蚊に刺されたな。僕は今は家族を持ち、以前のように海に行けなくなった。でもいつの日か、相棒と一緒にまた台湾の海に、そしてナルワンサーフに行きたいな。台湾の海の思い出をありがとう🏄 Memories of NALUWAN SURF🌹 In the past, in order to surf in Taiwan, I contacted a surf shop named "NALUWAN SURF" at the southernmost tip of Taiwan by e-mail and went to there. At that time, in the early days of the Internet, every Web site was like a simple note. I saw the Web site on which the bandits appeared in that area, and I was a bit scared. I wonder if that story was true. Depending on the map from Kaohsiung, the southern city of Taiwan, I did not understand the words, I did not know the destination well, but I got into the bus anyway. I got on the bus for more than an hour and I do not know the words, but told me the bus stop where a kind bus driver gets down. And I came to NALUWAN SURF. they taught me local Chinese restaurant. Kung Shang Design Hotel in Kaohsiung. Luxury Suite are decorated/theme rooms good for a photoshoot backdrop, or the IG fix. We have a PS4 inside the room too, though the game selection could have been wider. The rooms are really big, scarily so. You could probably throw in a party inside if it's allowed. It comes with a separate bathtub and a standing shower. The tub is such a great feature when you're just so tired after a whole day of exploring Kaohsiung. The toiletires used are of L'occitane brand, but when I requested for replenishment on the second day from the the front desk, I was given their normal ones. The hotel is definitely good for families, especially with kids, since it's so spacious. It's located close to Formosa Boulevard station which is an interchange, and the Liuhe Tourist Night Market. Cafes and other eateries are nearby the hotel.
