When members of the Geneva High School role playing club asked 16-year-old Lindsay Souvannarath to choose a character they were expecting an elf, a sorceress or perhaps a female warrior.

But the shy, clean-cut teenager opted for a rather more unsettling choice, presenting them with a detailed pencil drawing of her chosen persona - the 'Nightmare Nazi'.

The trench coat, jackboots and gas mask were unmistakably those of an SS soldier; the skeletal hands clutching a vast dagger more akin to dark fantasy art.

Former classmates at Geneva High recall Lindsay Souvannarath as a shy, withdrawn youngster, who had few friends and instead sought out after-school groups and writing clubs to express her creative side.

But she was also prone to bouts of anger and violence - allegedly stabbing another student with a pencil in one outburst and occasionally letting slip an alarming infatuation with the Third Reich.

'On first impressions I didn't think there was anything too strange about her,' he told Daily Mail Online.

'She could be funny and intelligent but most of the time she was quiet and not very warm or outgoing.

'One year her character was a sort of Wonder Woman-type heroine, then all of sudden she tells the group she wants to be a Nazi ghost.

'You choose your species and come up with a back story. Hers was that her character was a guest from a crazy, dark Nazi universe.

'It's supposed to be a game in a medieval, fantasy setting but she would just argue if she didn't get her way.

'So we went on our quest with a robot, a couple of elves, wizards and this weird Nazi.

'Aside from the character's background he didn't do anything racist or too alarming. We didn't know about her interests at that time so we just got on with it.

Ms Szigeti recalled how Souvannarath began to idolize black-death metal bands in her mid-teens.

She became particularly infatuated with Varg Vikernes, a white supremacist musician convicted in 1994 of killing a rival guitarist and burning down three churches in Norway, describing him as 'cute' and writing essays about him.

'Her work was always dark and full of violence, there were soldiers and Nazis and all this weird stuff,' Sabrina said.

'She acted normal on the surface. She was never physically violent but she would get aggressive and upset if you criticized her.

'Everyone was uncomfortable but we just avoided trying to start a fight with her. 'If you asked her straight up 'are you a Nazi?' she would argue that she wasn't.

As far back as 2007 - when she was just 15 - she allegedly wrote 'free speech is dead' in one forum, adding: 'That's why we need people like David Duke to bring it to life again.'

In another warped entry, writing that same year under the pseudonym Snoopyfemme she wrote: 'They use sex in commercials all the time to sell products. Why don't they ever use violence?

'Wouldn't you love to see a bunch of guys tearing each other apart with machine guns to get a bowl of Cheerios?

'Sure, it might traumatize our children, but in my opinion, children aren't being traumatized enough.

'The only reason for Americans to breed is to create more soldiers to fight for freedom. We need to weed out the weaklings early on. Survival of the fittest, man.'

'She was very odd to the point among a lot of our classmates that no-one was surprised by her arrest.

'She was a very lonely person - but she isolated herself. 'From what I remember she was even suspended for stabbing someone with a pencil in middle school.'

'She was known for putting spells on people. She would do it by saying weird things and then putting on a curse - obviously we did not take her seriously.

'She would break out into laughter in the middle of class for absolutely no reason.

'When we saw that Lindsay did something like this, nobody was surprised. She was the one most likely.'

Hi! The six princesses of Luxembourg are actually my favorite non-Romanov historical royals! There is an old biography of Marie Adelaide by Edith O’Shaughnessy that I would highly recommend, if you can find a copy—it was published in the 1930s, so it’s out of print and outdated as well, but still excellent. There is a newer book, ca. 2014, called The Nassaus of Luxembourg written by Kassandra Pollock, Sabrina Pollock, and Arturo E. Beéche, and it has a lot of information on the sisters, but it’s published by EuroHistory; I would NOT recommend ordering directly from them (you’d be lucky if you ever receive a copy of your book, or a refund at that), but you can probably find it at Van Hoogstraten’s online bookstore (and I HIGHLY recommend them!). I don’t know if you can read German, but there is a biography called Antonia von Luxembourg: Bayerns Letzte Kronprinzessin by Jean Louis Schlim, and a political biography of Marie Adelaide by Josiane Weber, but I have not read Weber’s book.

So, what specifically would you like to know about the princesses? I’d be happy to answer any and all questions, provided I know the answers, of course :)

Almost 200 North Korean defectors are willing to join Ukraine's fight against Russia as North Korean troops come close to the frontlines of fighting in southern Russia, according to a new report.

"We are all military veterans who understand North Korea's military culture and psychological state better than anyone else," a North Korean defector, 69-year-old Ahn Chan-il, told the South China Morning Post's This Week in Asia in an article published on Monday.

Members of the group of defectors all have several years of military experience, according to the report. Pyongyang has mandatory military service, which can last around a decade for men, and has a huge army of well over a million.

Ukrainian and South Korean intelligence has said in recent weeks that North Korea was sending between 10,000 and 12,000 soldiers to Russia to bolster Moscow's war effort against Kyiv.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Tuesday that he had told South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol that 3,000 North Korean fighters were on "Russian training grounds in the immediate vicinity of the war zone."

Kyiv's GUR military intelligence service said on Thursday that it had detected North Korean troops in the Russian border region of Kursk for the first time the previous day.

Ukraine launched an incursion into the region nearly three months ago, which Russia initially struggled to peel back. Moscow hasn't yet succeeded in pushing Kyiv's control back to the border.

NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte said on Monday that North Korean units had been deployed to Kursk. The Pentagon separately said that the about 10,000 North Korean soldiers training in eastern Russia "will probably augment Russian forces near Ukraine over the next several weeks."

"A portion of those soldiers have already moved closer to Ukraine," Pentagon deputy press secretary Sabrina Singh said in a briefing on Monday. The U.S. is "increasingly concerned" that they will be deployed against Ukraine in Kursk, Singh said.

Western and South Korean officials have widely condemned the move, describing the transfer of the forces to Russia as a dangerous and worrying escalation to the war in Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022.

A Ukrainian government-backed hotline, designed for Russian soldiers wishing to surrender as prisoners of war, published an appeal last week for North Korean soldiers to "not die senselessly on foreign soil."

Lee Min-bok, a fellow defector, has reportedly appealed to Kyiv for permission to help rescue North Korean soldiers. Seoul's spy agency said this month that the North Korean soldiers had been given Russian military uniforms, Russian-made weapons and fake documents claiming the fighters were residents of regions in Siberia.

"It appears that they disguised themselves as Russian soldiers to hide the fact that they were deployed to the battlefield," the agency said.

Footage published online by Russian and Ukrainian sources appeared to show North Korean soldiers at a Russian training ground in the far-eastern Primorsky region, which borders North Korean territory.

"We're ready to go wherever needed to work as psychological warfare agents—through loudspeaker broadcasts, distributing leaflets, and even acting as interpreters," Ahn said.

Relations on the Korean peninsula are at their worst point in decades, with Pyongyang formally renouncing the goal of reunification with the south and dubbing Seoul the "principal enemy."

Flashpoints of tension such as trash-filled balloons gliding over the de-facto border and loudspeakers blasting across the demilitarized zone have dotted the past few months of spiky relations.

A few days ago everyone was like"They're painting tae as villain" when jimin called the guest but as soon as jin teased jimin yesterday it's "Solos don't understand jokes" but no one said the same thing for jm. Even armys made tweets Saying how they're making tae look like he's unwanted and let everyone drag jm.

This is what goes on in Fandom but when you try to voice it out all you get in return is lectures about how those people are not armys those are antis lol. Idk when people are going to be upfront about what goes on in Fandom like every single time when there's a hate campaign against jm it always comes to light because his solo fans report on it. I never got any reports regarding jm first from armys it's always his solo FB (the 3-4 i follow) and then hrs or days later armys make tweet regarding it.

Won't lie but as a jimin bias it definitely feels suffocating in the Fandom. it feels the same as how you always have to trend tags or tag hybe to give jimim bare minimum when he releases music while hybe gives them easily to others. Helpless is exactly how I feel too, that’s the perfect way to put it. It’s just so frustrating because I tried REALLY hard to be involved in the ARMY community and just ended up being filled with so much bitterness and resentment. I have no idea how any Jimin biased can stand it there. And I agree with everything you said 100%, always feel free to send me long paragraphs or fandom vents 😭 Going to apologize for this whole essay, but yeah, this last year especially has really killed most of the goodwill I felt towards this fandom.

The last BTS report account was run by a group of TH biased tkkrs and that YoongiPD account who is a YG-diet and JM anti (they “left” being admin at one point, but they were involved) that “Bocia” person if you know who I’m talking about was also involved and they’re a JK-diet and tkkr (idk if they’re still around tbh). This report page followed like seven or so focused report accounts for TH, several for YG and other members and NONE for JM. They ended up setting JM up from info they got from tkkrs on IG and doubled down (after initially apologizing) and all the shooter accounts got super defensive and were backing up this fake info too, it was ridiculous.

I politely asked why they weren’t following any JM protect pages and I got blocked by several of these people and I promise you my account was fully ARMY, no shippers, no diets, no weird victimization posts. It really ticked me off. They had posted who some of the admins were before this and they were literally all just TH diets/tkkrs so it was easy to tell what was going on.

One of them was in a GC where someone was bragging about getting people to drop all the charting songs except for THs and JH’s, they insulted CTT, and were complaining about LC in the US. Again, an admin of that report account was in this GC, but their friends didn’t cancel them. These people always defend each other while being the first to point their fingers at JM biased and jkkrs.

They were all friends with that random tkkr account too who was called out for following a bunch of JM antis and then they were like, “using a unit name doesn’t make you a shipper!” and they and their moots proceeded to spam tkk moments and joke about it. Meanwhile they were spouting tkk narratives and reading tkk fanfic and following actual shippers, making a thousand defense posts for tkk (ofc none for jkk), following and interacting with JM antis, but apparently they’re not a shipper?

This group runs report accounts, shooter accounts, big accounts, chart accounts, meme accounts, update accounts, just whatever, they’re everywhere. And when one of them gets called out they just back each other up. And THAT’S why JM related accounts always face the most scrutiny, because who gets called out is just based on whichever faction is currently running most of the shooter/report accounts and it’s never jkkrs/JM biased.

IDK what happened to that account, it got suspended by boycotters and they remade but I never kept up with them (I just blocked most of those people and moved on tbh). But I KNOW these same people are all over that current protect accounts GCs because if you notice ANY time they call out a tkkr they HAVE to make a report on jkkrs even if it doesn’t make sense, and they always add shady captions. Like what is this lmao???? 😭

They just made up a whole new sentence, the shady admin note, the “TH snatching JK from JM” which is a tkkrs wet dream, pretending that jkkrs are threatened by tkk or something. They deleted the post, and this isn’t the first time they’ve done something super weird like this. And if you want my conspiracy on this, I think it’s because that account had several hit tweets on “why I believe jkk are real” and I fully believe that’s why they were targeted lol. Because choosing that account was so random?

I talked about this in another post but the best way to gain a bunch of followers quickly on ARMYtwt is to get very involved in whatever fandom crisis/drama is going on at the time, such as MHJ/the cult stuff/YG situation/boycott situation. That’s exactly what this report account did, they’re clearly YG biased and suddenly gained 20k followers in a month because they were providing helpful info about that situation. I don’t think they ever revealed their main account and that’s why I’ll never trust these accounts that pop up out of nowhere and suddenly gain mass followings (and they were constantly interacting with a well known problematic YG biased account too). IDK if that account admin is entirely bad or anything, and I appreciated some of their helpful stuff for YG, but I know what their GC is full of at the very least.

Anyways, I sat and watched especially the last few weeks leading up to AYS (and after the first two eps) how the hate for Jimin and Jikook just got SO out of control, just insane, and there were hardly ANY ARMY report tweets for it. The Jimin hate is just so normalized in this fandom, they never move, they’re never surprised or outraged by it anymore. Suddenly TH joins the show and is getting hated on by jkkrs and it was ALL over ARMY twitter. Like my moots who never talk about shipping drama were ratio-ing jkkrs (some of whom were just being shady about him being a guest which is hardly as bad as what they were saying about JM/Jikook). And the fact they were freaking out about flop jkkr tweets with like 500 likes while ignoring all the tkk tweets that had thousands of likes? It was just really frustrating to see the different responses.

And omg yes, the fact that “ARMYs” were literally talking about BH editing the show to be shady towards TH and make him look unwanted was INSANE! They were literally backing up tkk narratives, narratives that have done untold damage towards Jimin for years, and these weren’t tkkrs, these were ARMY accounts! Some that are very active in the community. Why weren’t ARMYs clocking these people? Do they ACTUALLY buy into the whole BH pushes Jikook thing? It’s just so tiring, you’re right. I see BS like this allllllll the time.

But it’s why I just got so mad when ARMYs a few months ago were talking about being BTS’s shield and how they have to protect BTS. It’s this obsession with MHJ or other fandoms, going on and on about how ARMYs are their shield and all this self-righteousness. But the audacity to claim that when the call is coming from inside the house, when the rot and the worst damage has come from INSIDE the fandom for years now?

If they protected BTS then tk-lives wouldn’t have 500k followers. The massive platforms tkkrs have are INSANE and they were just left to grow that big while spewing insane things about Jimin/Jikook (JK too, even TH) for years and years and ARMYs didn’t want to do anything about it, even when their insanity has actually impacted offline, real life stuff. That is the BIGGEST source of danger and damage to the fandom and to the BTS members, not MHJ, not kmedia, not Tokki’s! It’s akgaes and shippers (especially tkkrs). But ARMYs have literally just ignored it for years now?

One example is just straight up how they ignored the role that akages and shippers played in the way Jimin was harassed during FACE era and how all the drags that now get regularly thrown around (SA insults, sleeping with PDs for remixes, tagging Spotify etc) came from SOLOS during FACE era, because they just wanted to blame it entirely on kpop stans. They acted like it came out of nowhere during Seven era and not just that PJMs were parroting exactly what JJKs were saying about JM during FACE era (and I’m NOT justifying PJMs being vile back towards JK. It's just bizarre how many ARMYs were entirely oblivious during FACE era).

Then there’s the whole situation with Jimin’s dad. Literally akgaes and tkkrs started spreading that whole narrative attacking him because of AYS and Who. Kmedia picked up on it, and maybe because of the ongoing smear campaign on BTS they were looking for things to write about, but WHERE do they think that journalist got that info? The way that ARMYs were getting hit tweets blaming it ENTIRELY on MHJ was insanity. They LOVE themselves an easy villain they can rally against, but it almost feels like they straight up cover up for tkkrs and solos sometimes?

If they actually cared about protecting Jimin, wouldn’t they want to go after the original source of that? But no, just wanted hit tweets on MHJ and sensationalizing that because they are OBSESSED with her right now (don’t get me wrong, I obviously hate her too). They’re just so drama addicted, but they never actually care about the BTS members or they would do something about a HUGE source of hurt that’s been there for years. They don’t want to put in the hard work to clean up our fandom, they just want to fight with other fandoms or be loud and feel important, or bury their heads in the sand because they don’t want to deal with this mess.

And you’re right, it pisses me off so bad when you call this out and they’re like “they’re not part of our fandom!”. That's SUCH BS 😭 they ARE part of our fandom, you can’t just wash your hands from the things you don’t like. Literally most of those tkkrs have little sevens, or a lot of solos are ex-ARMYs, or ARMYS follow and interact with them or are diets. How many ARMYs are shippers and read fanfic and AUs and follow duo accounts that are clearly run by shippers? It was ARMYs in line buying that tk fanfiction in Paris. ARMYs make up the following for most of these accounts too. I mean, damn, a big shooter account I saw was exposed for interacting with that Jay/Mina person last year, someone we’ve been asking to report NONSTOP, but no, shippers are totally not part of our fandom right?

I swear I’m not even THAT chronically online lol 😭 but it’s just… hard not to witness this stuff if you’re active in the fandom at all? I mean, maybe it’s just my algorithm on my priv, but it doesn’t take much to see all this going on ESPECIALLY if you’re Jimin biased or a jkkr, if you follow any report accounts at all, so I’ll never understand how some of them are so content in this fandom when to me it’s mostly trash 😭

There are a handful of ARMY accounts I super respect, and I know the twt community and all of this is not always representative of the majority, but pretty much any fandom space you walk into is just full of this kind of stuff and it’s exhausting. You can build yourself a nice little community to have fun and retain your sanity, but if you want to be part of the larger ARMY fanbase? It’s just so toxic and biased. And I’m not even getting into the drama about their solo releases because that is ANOTHER whole thing 😭 there’s also probably a thousand more examples of ARMYs being hypocritical on top of everything you listed too (just remembered the whole situation with that k-fanbase ugh).

Sorry this is so long, just going to quickly throw out that I know ARMYs can be weird to ALL the members, every bias has something legit to complain about, but I just firmly believe that for a few reasons (some of which I’ve talked about here before, like seeing JM as a goalpost, shippers and so on) the fandom has the weirdest attitude towards Jimin. And that’s not to say I don’t call out when ARMYs are being awful to the others either, like it was actually insane and very sad how they treated JK over that post about NewJean’s, the way they hyped up those dating “rumors” about Namjoon and gave hit tweets on that while not supporting his music and so on.

I try not to let all this get to me TOO often because these people spend all their time being manipulative in stan spaces and trying to cosplay and whatever, but look at the actual charts 😭 Jimin has a LOT of support and a LOT of people who love him. Jimin lovers might not be great at cosplaying and manipulating and running ARMY big accounts, but damn they are at least good at streaming and supporting music, and that’s about a thousand times more valuable at the end of the day. Lots of ARMYs just passively interact with fandom and don't see any of this either. And all this stuff just kind of disappears when you logoff, sometimes I give it more importance than it actually holds, but I do find it annoying lol.

It’s definitely exhausting and suffocating though, and it does feel just super helpless in this fandom sometimes like you said. I definitely do not feel any loyalty towards ARMYs at this point. I’m here for Jimin, JK, BTS on my own terms and just follow who I like, I don’t really care about what the fandom at large thinks or any of their projects, and I’m beyond caring about backlash and I’ll just say what I think if people ask. It’s obvious to see why the fandom has deteriorated the way it has and ARMYs have no one to blame but themselves honestly. I just hope things improve when BTS returns.

Analysis of the "Confrontation" trailer

Alright so.

We see a pair of hands put paper through the shredder. Unless the room in question is particularly dark, those hands don't look like Chloé's or Sabrina's to me (the Alliance also rules Lila out). Seems more like Alya. Getting rid of a troublesome document? I imagine it's her report card given the structure resembling grades and appreciation (but no courses?).

Lila and Chloé banishing Sabrina to the closet again (smh nerd henchwomen can't even be lesbians for their bully crushes anymore).

Opening student folders, Lila is holding Alya's (I imagine she's planning on sabotaging it to either make Marinette look like a bad influence on her grades or stall Alya in case Ladybug is needed... or both). Juleka's is next on the pile. This is probably relevant.

Miss Bustier looks down. Me thinks she's regretting the fact Chloé's whole academics are invalid due to Sabrina doing all her work for her.

The entire class is upset. If those ARE their report cards, it looks like everyone got bad grades. Which isn't all that doable unless Ladybug's recruiting ruined them THAT much.

Everyone turns to look at Juleka. And I fear I know what's going on.

Juleka risks getting expelled.

"A pupil may repeat a year only once during their schooling, before the end of junior high. Exceptionally, a second opinion for repetition may be taken after prior agreement of the Dasen (Academic Director of National Education Services)." Source

For those who may not know, Juleka has already repeated a year, hence why she and Luka aren't both in high school in spite of being the same age.

Seems like with Chloé decidedly failing her year, they'll be making EVERYONE in class repeat theirs. But if Juleka doesn't pass, it's over. She'd have no choice but to change schools or start taking homeschool like Adrien (or online classes).

Either way, it's no wonder she gets akumatized. Whether she likes it or not, she'll stop seeing all her friends next year. She won't get to be around Rose and everyone as much as she used to.

Reflekta's weapon is a paper fan that she splits apart to turn people into her obedient copies. Looks like the Megakuma might be in her report card, and she's ensuring that they all share her fate by becoming like her.

Marinette shielded herself from a Megakuma using Kim's report card (gurl I don't think there's much value aside from the sports grade in there, you won't gain much aside from being a supervillain jock).

Monarch seems displeased.

Looks like after what she threw at him in "Pretension" and what Lila did in "Revelation", Gabriel REALLY has it out for Marinette if he tried to akumatize her specifically.

And this is the part where it gets interesting.

The Megakuma got purified.

An anti-Megakuma shield? A Magical Charm shield? A Shield Charm? Magical Shield? New power from Ladybug counteracting Monarch's power upgrade?

Either way...

^The fandom after this episode (also my guess is that she's using the power of Clout to do these explosions, given she already was Purple Tigress and it'd fit that she gets her own Kwami back after Glaciator used it in "Elation").

I think it's truly impossible for fans to commit to a "stop invading celebrities's privacy" approach, because fans aren't the ones invading. It's people making money off it who invade, who tell fans "this is where the person is", who stalk them and capture moments fans wouldn't even know to look for. It's definitely disheartening to see fans contribute to that, either swarming to rumored locations or ocassionally tipping people off to something that hadn't been noticed, but they're not the source of the problem.

Fans refusing to engage with the professional privacy violation absolutely can have an effect, even with pretty big names, but absolutely not when you get to the huge names like Swift and Styles and Rodriguez.

It's not a fan problem, it's a paparazzi problem and it's unreasonable to frame it as if fans can just band together and decide to act better.

you do raise a good point anon, i can definitely see how it came off that way. i just meant like engaging in as little of these invasive posts as possible, not making presumptuous theories or whatever about people, and obviously not banding together to meet at these areas. in the grand scheme of things however, i acknowledge that even the collective of fanbases choosing not to act, it won't stop the paparazzi's influence, especially at people like taylor swift's or harry styles's level.

what i was trying to get across was doing what we can as fans to minimize this problem as much as our influence can do. even if not everyone listens, it should just be a thing as respecting your fellow person in person and online, even if that person is an international celebrity. for example, the whole "love triangle" deal between olivia rodrigo, sabrina carpenter, and joshua bassett was a heavily fan-based movement where many people decided it was their business to butt their opinions in on these people they don't even know just because of songs? i won't get too into all that (today) but that's generally the gist of what i mean by "what the fuck, fanbase"

but once again, yeah my post definitely wasn't the best at wording it and definitely made it seem like i was putting more blame on the fans than i meant to. i guess i just wasn't expecting it to be taken on such a wide scale since one, it was like fourteen (14) words, two, i have but a humble little blog and three, i'm not taylor swift herself but again i 100% get the interpretation!!

Do you know the brand of Sabrina’s red bag? Also do you think Sabrina wears earrings?

Sadly, Sabrina's bag doesn't seem to have a brand. It is a VERY popular style and most likely vintage or custom made (sadly a large auction was done right after the show and a lot was auctioned off without pictures or even a list). They sourced a lot of vintage for Sabrina (definitely s1) in the series heavily, but also dyed a lot of items or custom made them (her brown and red wool coats) There are some that closely resemble her bag (red leather with plaid lining), but there are little details like side grommets or pocket placement that make it an individual piece.

I'm sorry we aren't active when you yourself are new. We aren't posting anything new; I only answer asks because they are directed to my ask box.

Makeup

Sabrina and others (mostly the Weird sisters) makeup has been broken down extensively in a lot of online articles that interviewed the hair and makeup teams.

They used the CAOS palette by Ulta in S3 and S4 a lot, since it was a collab. Think the lippies for the sisters and Sabrina's rock battle look.

Her makeup tag is here, but check out online articles too because we didn't post everything. It's mentioned that the Renaissance Palette is used a lot for the sisters, but Tati noted Modern Palette is too. Since it's a lot of neutral shades I believe it's used for everyone a lot. I personally love the palettes, I use them every day!

Earrings

Sabrina doesn't where many earrings in the show (thankfully, she would most likely wear studs and that would be so annoying to id).

She wears silver star tassel earrings (yup, she wore them before Barbie!) for the battle of the bands and spider with crystal drop earrings for Morningstar's coronation. She does not wear earrings for any other party or dance looks.

Austin and K were apparently at Madonna's private party yesterday. E online posted an article about Taylor Swift at the party and they mentioned Austin and Kaia. But I don't know, I have the feeling that is a bullshit and he didn't really go to that party.

what i find interesting is that E!News is the only publication to mention kaia and austin going together. the dailymail mentioned she went with her mom. No other articles i have read mentioned kaia attending, literally no other sources put her on the guest of attendees. a couple stated Austin in attendance, but no mention of him with her.

clearly kaia and her mom went together, as seen by pics taken of them together where she commented "my hot date" with a photo of her and cindy together before the party. but nothing about austin. also i find that comment interesting anyway saying her mom was her date, but nothing about austin huh? and i also saw no mention in any article that cindy was in attendance also even though she apparently went with kaia. so, what's up with that? cindy is a big name but she wasn't mentioned in any article of her attendance?

so what im saying here is that these articles are all over the place and unreliable when it comes to this guest list. it is very convenient that there was a no phones rule at this party so we have no photographic proof of anything when it comes to austin, but there was a photographer who did take pics of the guests that we can confirm went. so while kaia and cindy did go because we got pictures taken by their makeup artist, we have no concrete proof that austin attended. it is majorly questionable as to the definitiveness of these "guest lists" claiming he went when we don't have any proof. not only that but i saw one publication mention Barry was there too, but he was with Sabrina at the Vanity Fair one all night...them being together at the VF party was heavily documented.

what we have to go off of is hearsay and the validity of these publications, which we know can get things wrong a lot of the time. if there's no photographic proof then we don't have concrete evidence. and how convenient the party was a no phone zone.

Something that just hit me. Sabrina probably went with what Chloe did because she (or Chloe) convinced herself that it would have no lasting consequences. Something I noticed in adoration and confrontation was how both things that were planned for Mari (and everyone) was that there would be long term harm done.

Not a defense by any stretch but something i noticed.

I don't know if I can call the Sabrina from Derision a biatch, if she wasn't a rotted girl then but during Derision's flashback and season 1, clearly Sabrina wasn't able to realize the harm she was doing.

Perhaps Sabrina would have had to hear about cases of teenagers committing suicide because of school bullying or cyberbullying (the kind of cyber harrassment that folows after a humiliating video posted online, and that Chloé clearly wanted to inflict to Marinette) to finally realize that her actions were appaling and could have very dire consequences.

Since season 1 Sabrina has been convinced that she was Chloe's best friend, never once she was tod that the way Chloé always took advantage of her wasn't friendship at all but toxic as hell or straight up modern slavery. But for Sabrina everything was good to get into Chloé's good graces (probably for protection against other bullies and benefits like wealthy gifts) iincluding committing acts that would have shamed Sabrina's father (what a shame that the young girl seems also having taken a liking to bullying in the past, at least in the movie looks uncomfortable when Chloe goes after Marinette)

Thus I can only think of three reasons why Sabrina would suddenly grow a conscience after Adoration :

First, Chloe no longer uses pretense in season 5, she no longer calls Sabrina her friend, but calls her underling instead. Also, watching Lila and Chloe interact together, Sabrina must have recognized that the two mean girls may have an healthier friendship between them than what binds Sabrina to Chloe (and I think listening to those two devil spawns girls discuss their hatred for Marinette and their obsession with harming the young girl may have made Sabrina realize that these two were completely insane).

The second reason, Ladybug and Cat Noir. These two heroes are always a huge source of inspiration for the parasians, and encourage them to perform heroic deeds that they would not necessarily have had the courage to do before. Sabrina was even given byt Ladybug herself the opportunity to be a temporary wielder of a miraculous, and to be part of a hero team to save the world and their friends. Also in Adoration, Ladybug encouraged Sabrina to learn to tell the difference between what's right and what's not. I think Sabrina was already starting to feel more qualms in season 4, because she was never that bothered about committing thievery for Chloe in season 1. But seeing Sabrina refuse to do so at first in Adoration could tend to prove that she finally began to better distinguish between good and evil at the strat of season 5.

Third reason, her classmates. In Penalteam, Sabrina was invited by her class to join them to play soccer, proving that on some occasions, her classmates try to include her and are nice to her despite her association with Chloe, which can probably explain Sabrina's guilt and enormous reluctance to harm them in Confrontation

My Gundam Wing novelisation finally arrived 😍 + bonus Hiiriri official art from the first volume that I wanted to share because they're so pretty ❤.

Another Gundam Wing light novel series added to the list of books I'll eventually translate 😁. FT is my priority right now, then EW novelisation, then Scythe in my Right Hand You in my Left, and then finally this series ^^; but I promise I'll get to it!

My #1 post of 2022

It appears that Frozen Teardrop still gets a lot of hate which is unfortunate since it’s a pretty good series. I understand not liking it if you haven’t read it since I didn’t either due to what was said about it online, but after giving it a chance I enjoyed it quite a lot! I also learned that most of the stuff said about it online never even happened,,, 

Frozen Teardrop only reveals to the reader what the new characters, such as Fenrir and Cathy Po, know as the plot progresses. This has unfortunately caused a lot of misinterpretations from the western fandom who only had brief summaries to go off as FT was releasing. I want to clear up some of the more popular misinterpretations here, especially the common ones from TV Tropes and Gundam Wing Wiki (The wiki can’t even decide whether Sabrina and Katrina are her grandmother and great aunt or mother and aunt, so it shouldn’t be used as a source for FT anyway lol.)

This post is long, so it is under the read more. There are also spoilers so don’t read if you are waiting for the translations.

Wufei and Duo hate each other:

This is a language issue. Cathy Po is confused as to why Duo (Father Maxwell) and Wufei (Master Chang) are so informal with each other (talking down to each other rather than using more formal speech to address each other). In Japan if you don’t know someone/aren’t very acquainted with someone, you never talk down to them.

From her POV it seems odd that a Master and a Priest would talk to each other so casually whereas in Japan their language to each other should be much more formal given their status. This actually shows that Wufei and Duo are close enough (childhood friends) to talk casually but it comes as a shock to an outsider such as Cathy.

Heero wants to kill Relena:

Heero wanting to kill Relena is more for suspense for new GW fans and also as the reader is only given what knowledge Fenrir and Cathy Po have. From their Pov Relena needs to be assassinated but as the OG pilots know, she is just a scapegoat of the Lanagurin Republic and the fights with the Peacecraft’s are to throw the Republic off. 

Heero himself wants to kill the name “Relena Peacecraft” (not Relena herself) so she can go back to being “Relena Darlian” and change the world as she wants on her terms rather than be burdened to carry the Peacecraft name. This gets revealed in the Preventor 5 chapters as well as in later chapters, but the old translations and summaries only covered the early volumes.

Relena does originally need to be killed to end the Perfect Peace Program virus which is why the G-pilots are trying to get to her but Heero is the one who comes up with the plan to find the origins of the program to stop it instead so she can live (hence why his “I’ll never kill again quote gets repeated over and over again).

*Duo almost gets his own subsection lmao, poor guy gets the hate the worst,,,

Duo abandoned Fenrir:

Duo had already mutually divorced Hilde and she chose to not tell him she was pregnant. He didn’t know he had a son so he can’t really be blamed for not being around as he was respecting Hilde’s space.

Duo cut his hair for no reason/ it’s ooc:

In Japan, a character cutting their hair signifies personal change and wanting to grow. Hilde points out that his braid is a reminder of Sister Helen and losing her and everyone else close to him which is why he continuously pushes others (especially Hilde as shown in the Anime and Manga) away. He initially disagrees with her but soon realizes she has a point and wants to change his ways leading to a dramatic scene of him cutting his braid and saying goodbye to Sister Helen, Father Maxwell and Solo with his newfound determination to stop pushing others away.

Duo left his debt of the church to Hilde on purpose:

Duo inherited the church’s debt from a priest he had helped, again against his knowledge. The only reason Hilde was stuck with the debt was because she went to evaluate it to sell and pay the debt but realized there was still orphans there, so she wanted to take care of them until they were adopted. Unfortunately, as Duo points out, because of the war there’s more orphans every time he visits. 

Also, once Duo finds out about the church, he starts sending his bounty money he earns to pay it off.

Duo is a jerk dad:

This is a combination of the above misinterpretations as well as a language thing. Both Duo and Fenrir have brash/sarcastic speech patterns that don’t translate well, mixed with Fenrir being an Unreliable Narrator:TM: that tends to exaggerate, they come across as mean. We know from how they talk about each other that they both really care as well as from their actions. Fenrir sews part of Duo’s Santa suit into his iconic jacket, Duo gloats about his son to the other pilots, Fenrir learned all he knows from Duo, Duo made excuses to see Fenrir despite Hilde saying he wasn’t his son, Fenrir keeps Duo’s cowboy hat, etc.

Relena is brainwashed:

She wasn’t brainwashed at all. She was used as a scapegoat for the Lanagurin Republic the same way Romefeller used her as Queen Relena. They know the people will trust anything the government says as long as it comes from Relena.

Katrine is a clone:

Katrine is just another one of Quatre’s test tube sisters, she was just born after their father died (frozen embryo I assume?). She herself believed she’s a clone because she is brought up in a hospital (raised by her sister Irene Winner) and has a friend who is a “spare parts” clone for their own sister. 

When her friend's sister dies and the friend becomes the “main daughter”, the friend projects on to Katrine calling her a spare parts clone, but Irene assures Katrine it isn’t true and that she is just as loved as her other 30 siblings.

Katrine is also 15 but the way that Mars years' work, I can see where the fandom got confused. There’s a part where it mentions she is a kindergartener, and 5 Mars years pass to bring us to just before the main plot. But 5 Mars years = 10 Earth years meaning she is actually 15ish (I’m presuming to be the same as the GW anime) and not 10.

Sabrina Peacecraft was locked away:

She wasn’t locked away rather she was the “lonely rich girl” much like Relena. She preferred to be in her room alone, playing the piano with her cat Sam but wasn’t a prisoner. The Cinderella references being the fairy tale to represent Katrina and Sabrina might have confused things? But as far as their back stories go, the cruel father locking her up wasn’t mentioned at all.

The Liberals just had themselves a “twofer.” For the second time in as many weeks, Liberal party insiders and their surrogates online saw attacks against newly recruited Conservative candidates backfire spectacularly, succeeding only in raising the profiles of the would-be Parliamentarians.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took aim at Conservative candidate for Durham Jamil Jivani on Thursday, calling Jivani, who is biracial, a “ twofer ” in an address to his caucus. Trudeau explained, in the next sentence, that by “twofer,” he meant that Jivani was “both an ideologue and an insider.” The prime minister’s unfortunate choice of words nevertheless gave the 36-year-old Jivani an opening to put together a rapid-fire counter-attack.

The irony is that Jivani is exactly the sort of “star candidate” that, under different circumstances, would have Liberals salivating. Indeed, the parallels between Jivani’s personal history, detailed in his 2018 book Why Young Men and that of ex-U.S. president Barack Obama are hard to ignore — right down to the Kenyan-born absentee father and the Ivy League law degree (Jivani graduated from Yale Law School in 2013). Throw in the fact that Jivani beat Stage 4 non-Hodgkin lymphoma, being declared “cured of cancer” just weeks ago, and we’re well into “made for TV movie” territory. Why Trudeau and other prominent Liberals would fritter away scarce political capital by going after Jivani is anyone’s guess, especially when he won’t be facing especially strong competition in the race for ex-Tory leader Erin O’Toole’s old seat in the March 4 by-election. Liberal nominee Robert Rock, currently a municipal councilor, ran unsuccessfully against Jivani for the riding’s Conservative nomination.

The Liberal meltdown over Jivani echoes the party’s similarly counterproductive targeting, one week earlier, of 35-year-old ex-National Post columnist Sabrina Maddeaux. Maddeaux was attacked online by two sitting Liberal MPs, one of them a cabinet member, just hours after posting her own video to X announcing that she was seeking the Conservative nomination for Aurora—Oak Ridges—Richmond Hill. (Disclosure: Sabrina is a personal friend and I made a small donation to her campaign shortly after it launched, though I am not a member of any political party.) Maddeaux was subsequently targeted by an army of pro-liberal trolls, with criticisms of the stylish ex-fashion writer at times crossing the line into creepy. One especially skin-crawling post paired a photo of Maddeaux taken at a fashion event with the caption, “Really? Sabrina is a ‘conservative’? Not sure I’d wear that to Sunday school.”

Ickiness aside, this has all made for excellent publicity for Maddeaux, whose two-minute campaign announcement video now has nearly 400,000 views on X. Maddeaux, like Jivani, is an accomplished and telegenic young urbanite whom the Liberals would no doubt have loved to run themselves in a competitive Greater Toronto Area riding. As a columnist, Maddeaux wrote prolifically on issues affecting urban millennials like herself, notably housing. Her segue into Conservative politics is emblematic of the party’s rising fortunes among younger Canadians.

The prime minister also singled out 33-year-old Oxford MP Arpan Khanna in his Thursday address. Khanna was reportedly the target of racist campaigning during last year’s bruising Oxford by-election. More recently, he’s been at the center of heretofore unsuccessful Liberal and NDP efforts to stoke anxieties over alleged Indian election interference. A thinly sourced story published earlier this month by the transparently partisan Press Progress claimed that the vote that made Khanna the Conservative party’s nominee for Oxford is currently under investigation by CSIS. The Liberal party’s baffling attacks on three promising young Conservatives show, above all, just how dramatically party demographics have changed during the Trudeau years. Whereas the expression “stale, pale and male” once broadly fit the Conservative party caucus, the Liberals don’t seem to have a playbook for dealing with a diverse crop of young political talent that’s flocked to the Big Blue Tent under Pierre Poilievre.

Without the epithets “old”, “male” and “white” at its disposal, the once lethal Liberal attack machine now looks to be toothless.

WASHINGTON – The Justice Department is investigating the leak of secret documents from the Pentagon on the war effort in Ukraine that show sensitive data on military activities, including U.S. drone spy planes in the region and use of ammunition by Ukrainian forces.

The Justice Department, at the Pentagon's request, has launched an investigation of the leak and who is responsible for the intelligence breach. It's unclear, officials said Saturday, if more documents could be released or the motivation for leaking them. 

“The Department of Defense is actively reviewing the matter, and has made a formal referral to the Department of Justice for investigation," Sabrina Singh, the Pentagon's deputy press secretary, said in a statement. 

The leaks, first reported by The New York Times, include documents released on social media sites, including Twitter.

One document appears to have come from the office of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. It is dated March 1, and is labeled secret and not for distribution to foreign governments. It details U.S. forces in the region on the ground, air and at sea. The document also includes how many artillery shells Ukrainian forces have fired, including rocket-assisted missiles that have been used to devastating effect on Russian command posts and supply depots.  

The Times also reported Saturday that more documents had been released that show the U.S. spying on allies.

Senior administration officials contacted Saturday by USA TODAY called the leaks worrisome. One said it's unclear if more will be released. The sources were not authorized to speak publicly about the matter.

Why did the documents about Ukraine leak online?

A second administration source called the leak an egregious betrayal of trust but speculated that the information released had limited value because it is several weeks old. The war changes rapidly, day by day, rendering the information a snapshot in time, the source said.

The motivation for the leaks is unclear, according to that source. It's possible that hundreds of people had access to the documents. The administration official said it could be an extremist who sympathizes with Russia and Vladimir Putin, or an ideologue bent on changing the course of the war, or a disloyal U.S. spy. 

Those who spill U.S. government secrets face stiff penalties. Chelsea Manning was sentenced to 35 years in prison in 2013 for her role in leaking classified government material to WikiLeaks. President Barack Obama commuted her sentence in 2017.
