Javier/Reader Headcanons

A/N: For Kinktober: boot worship. So kind of NSFW? There's a singular Outright Freaky Headcanon here. Neutral reader.

Like any devout man, Javier has some... control issues. The only people he would readily let be above him, in any sense, are God and Dutch -- and you, after a while, though he takes a lot of gratification in not being in a power struggle for once.

Anything you do for him, he appreciates. Javier takes pride in his appearance, because he's got internalized issues with looking "broke and dirty". He takes even greater pride in offering his best looks for your side, but can't pin down why it means so much that you enjoy mending his clothes or shining his boots when work is slow. He would sooner shoot anyone else than let them touch his things, let alone take a needle and thread to his favorite vest. Maybe it's the vulnerability of letting someone else handle his prized possessions that makes it feel so intimate.

One of his favorite things to do while fooling around is limit you to rutting on his thigh or at his boots. There's plenty of red-hot desperation to be enjoyed in the act, but there's something potent and demeaning in being relegated to just some dirty old boots for pleasure (even if he keeps them moderately clean).

The same can be said of shining them. He will never have normal feelings about it if you shine his boots while he's wearing them. You already look at him like he's royalty, something so divine that it feels blasphemous. Treating him like it, too? He'll melt.

Javier shows his love in similar worship. There's a quiet kind of adoration in keeping these little things running well: he will sharpen your knives, clean your guns, offer you the first cooked piece of meat when you're out camping. Hell, he once spent an hour trying to piece together the bent chain of a bracelet that had gotten broken with his bare fingertips, all for you. They were bleeding by the end, even with his guitar callouses protecting the skin.
