im watching a playthrough of Dangan Ronpa (the third game) with my partner and i have thoughts. its definitely one of those things that were ruined by a fandom because they were too young for it. dont get me wrong, the characters are so out-there and unique they lend themselves to be perfect shipping war candidates, but there is seriously a wealth of artistic value to the games. watching through it ive been delighted with the artistic direction and sound design. the OST is dripping with personality and whimsy. its all around a fucking hoot to watch. its goofy and leans into the absurdity of it's setting without sacrificing sincere moments of the story. the murder mysteries are solid and engaging. Monokuma and his kubs are the stupidest motherfuckers ive ever seen and are hilarious whenever they show up. Ouma is there. ive had the most fun interpreting the ultimates as different flavours of neurodivergent and even if their role is short (i.e. theyre an early game victim/culprit) they have complexities. DR is genuinely cool as hell, if youve ever been interested in it i recommend tackling the playthroughs to enjoy the art of it - there really is nothing like it and i think we're all grown up enough to see the beauty in the absurd.

A reminder that exciting though it may be to spend more time with Max, that new Life is Strange game is made by Deck Nine and these people, alongside Squenix, have a nazi problem and a documented toxic work environment. So maybe think twice about giving them your money when this thing comes out.

20. A film where the vibes are immaculate:

Krysar: La Joueur de Flúte d'Hamelin (1986) - The first weird film my best friend brought to me like, "I've never seen this but I read the description and saw some screencaps and this is a You film". It's a Czech stop motion feature adapting The Pied Piper of Hamelin, it really elevates the original folklore into something special imo

Blood Tea and Red String (2006) - Another film my best friend brought to me, essentially a poem as a film. Highly suggest going in blind, just know that there's no dialogue and it has slowburn pacing

The Fall (2006) - Obvious but very, very good pick. Can't recommend highly enough, can recommend to anyone

21. Films with a great needledrop/score/soundtrack:

Grosse Pointe Blank (1997) - Joe Strummer from the Clash is one of my favorite Guys of all time and he was the music guy for this and I love it, it's about a high school reunion and you can tell he had so much fun finding places to drop his favorite throwbacks

The Phantom of the Paradise (1976) - Yet another film my best friend and I found together, also very heavy influence over Guillermo del Toro in terms of style and subject matter, Paul Walker did the music and also cameos as a music producer who's done a deal with the devil, also Jessica Harper from Suspiria (1977) is in it, and um who knew she could sing? God, I love her

Moonlight (2016) - Gorgeous score by Nicholas Brittell, almost picked this for the previous number as well. Same as The Fall, can't recommend highly enough and will recommend to anyone

Also, I almost picked Troy (2004) for this one because it brought us together and also I included it among a bunch of movies the scores of which I studied for a science project in middle school <3 she's always been like this actually 🤔

Disney Fairied rewrite project ₍^ >ヮ<^₎ .ᐟ.ᐟ

Are YOU a big fan of the Tinker Bell movies, and are YOU tired of the constant inconsistencies and plotholes that are caused due to the shoehorning of certain concepts? Well boy do I have something for you!

So, I've been a big fan of the movies for a few years now. I watched them a lot as a child, and when I rewatched the first two with my cousin a few years ago, I ended up getting obsessed. But just because the franchise/movies happens to be a sort of special interest of mine, it doesn't mean I think they're the best movies ever. There are a lot of cool concepts which were removed or changed, and with each movie came new plotholes and inconsistencies. I also think there are a lot of characters that they could have done a little more with. Therefore I've decided to start my own little rewrite project. Nothing major, just a fun little thing where I rewrite the movies, redesign the characters and possibly change some concepts and aspects of Pixie Hollow. Once again, nothing major, just a silly thing I want to work on.

Now, what are some things that I would like to work on/change?

i would like to somehow bring back the original plot of the first movie, but still keep the seasons concept

giving Pixie Hollow history with a proper timeline

making the fairies look more like creatures, and each talent having these tiny differences in their physical appearence (ig feathers in hair for fast flying-talents, or some kind of symbol for each talent)

along with that I'd kind of like to change how the talent ceremony or whatever works

evolving the seasonal ministers a little more, like establishing their individual relationships with eachother, but also a little more about the minister role itself and how ministers are chosen

also i'm bringing back the minister of winter

I'm going to post more about this in the future, but this will have to be it for now. I don't really want to explain everything in complete detail right away.

I adore how Nathan in VS was given the Sonic Dash as his default weapon, because the way he randomly speeds up and slows down is literally how it feels to play CoTM, except it's not in your control lmao

at least in VS running is enough to make quick work of the swarm of enemies wanting you dead, which is more than I can say for the wondefully placed enemies in CoTM
