As a veteran as a sound tech for around eight years (for context small churchs), I can say I have picked up some pet peeves.
Professional pet peeves:
-messed with good intentions
Oh BOY... I have worked with two churches and while I was much younger than most of the sound team(I was an apprentice to my mom and sister), it seems that some people can't get by the image of a small frail girl hauling cord being an issue. Listen. If I want you to help, I will ask. Stop messing with my power cords, XLR cables, or even the sound board itself. I have been trained, you have not.
-chasing away the folk
I have picked this up from my mom, but since I have officially become the one sound tech for my church, the older people in the congregation like to wander over to us and tell us how to do our jobs (my mom does video and the stream). Can't tell you how many people we have had to chase off. Please don't swarm your sound techs. We need space to troubleshoot without elbowing your nose.
-troubleshooting the troubleshoot
Thankfully I haven't had to do this as my current church is currently renting, but the other church rented out their building to other churches. Now normally this isn't a problem, but when I kept finding sliders broken or entire machines missing, you get annoyed. Please only use your things. Your church paid good money to use them, don't sell them off, especially if they ain't yours.
-lastly, asking last minute
This is more for streaming or the computer side of the audio video team. My mother (not a Saint, but boy she may) has horror stories where the song of some person almost bricks the computer because they bring in a corrupted flash drive, they bring in a tape when we no longer have a machine to play them, or some pastor appearing right before service and dropping a bunch of verses and then disappearing. She actually wanted me to mention, please send all files at least the Wednesday before so we can make sure everything is working.

In complete seriousness, they need to make laws about ads that say they can take no more than one, maybe two, clicks/taps to close/skip. No more "wait 10 seconds until you can skip the video, wait 10 seconds until you can skip the fake playable ad, wait 5 seconds until you can close the 'download now' overlay, puts up a half-screen in-app appstore pop-up (which at least you can close immediately)." This should literally be illegal to do.
Edit: this is blowing up so I just wanted to add (haha ad) that this was my "reasonable request" I also think there should be way more and way stricter laws around all advertising in general. I think most advertising as we know it today should be abolished.

I understand that The Amazing Digital Circus is ripe for "what if the main character snapped and killed everybody" crackfic, but y'all, if Pomni went off the deep end she would not be your sexy glitchcore murderwife. She'd do it screaming and flailing, and it'd make Tom and Jerry sound effects the whole time she's killing you.

the world is so fucked up and i can't help but think the damage is irreparable when i see people talking about how unusual and prudish it is to wait six to ten dates before having sex with someone. ten dates??? roughly like twenty five hours of interaction????? ten old timer burgers and mango iced teas from chilis equals sex?????? the possibility of pregnancy, STDs, emotional devastation, lifelong consequences, not to mention just straight up the possibility of getting murdered, with a STRANGER you have hung out with for maybe like two months???? and that's a LONG TIME???? and if you feel weird about that and don't want to do that that makes you NOT HETEROSEXUAL????? THATS AN ORIENTATION???? BECAUSE ITS SO OUTSIDE OF THE NORM OF HUMAN BEHAVIOR ????? i hate all of you i hate you i hate you i hate you every day i hate and I hate and I hate you

every sex scene in a movie is necessary, actually. we called for a vote on it while you were in the bathroom. yeah, even the people who were on the fence voted in favor of it because you were being a whiny child. and we don’t like you.

will always be super annoyed with the implication that art delving into an evil person’s conscience or internal conflict is bad because it is being overly sympathetic towards them. that is not exoneration. the whole point is that regardless of their humanity (that, yes, evil people ultimately have in real life) they continue to make the choices that render them irredeemable. it doesn’t turn into less of a condemnation. depicting complexity ≠ manipulating the audience into forgiveness. i keep seeing the accusation of the latter being thrown at media that is very clearly only doing the former

you know what i miss in movies. sincerity. authenticity. when scripts didn't spend their time being overtly self aware, lampshading all of their mistakes, and winking at the camera. when they told stories without a sense of spectator before they even hit the screen

I’m reaching and giving this movie credits where they are not due, but Eddie and his other not being able to fully manifest as Venom out of fear of being instantly attacked does unironically feels like metaphor for homophobia.

The reason why we're suddenly seeing a bunch of indie video games – particularly American indie video games – using vintage music is because the US finally has a public domain in sound recordings.
For context, until 1972, there was no federal copyright regime in the US for sound recordings; intellectual property law for sound recordings was devolved to the individual states, meaning there were fifty different sets of rules that might apply to any given recording, and some states allowed sound recordings to be protected for an indefinite term – i.e., in essence, perpetual copyright without expiration.
What changed in 1972 was the Sound Recording Amendment, which established unified federal copyright on sound recordings for the first time, but which allowed any pre-existing state-level copyrights for sound recordings published prior to February 15th, 1972 to run for their full term. Since most state-level sound recording copyrights had no fixed term (see above), this was capped at the "publication plus 95 years" rule which applies to other federal copyrights – with the twist that the 95-year cap on previously perpetual sound recording copyrights would count from 1972, not from the date of publication.
This effectively meant that no sound recordings in the US would enter the public domain until February 15th, 2067 – which doesn't do anyone a whole lot of good right now!
Fast forward to 2018, when another piece of federal legislation, the Music Modernisation Act, was passed. Though this act was mainly concerned with streaming royalties and such, it also contained provisions to grandfather certain sound recordings into the public domain earlier than the Sound Recording Amendment's all-or-nothing 2067 deadline. Specifically:
On January 1st, 2022, all sound recordings published before 1923 would enter the public domain
Sound recording published from 1923 through 1946 will enter the public domain 100 years after the date of first publication
Sound recordings published from 1947 through 1956 will enter the public domain 110 years after the date of first publication
In practice, what this means is:
All sound recordings first published before 1923 entered the public domain last year, on January 1st, 2022;
This year, 2023, is a "gap year" in which no sound recordings enter the public domain (i.e., being the 100th and final year of protection for sound recordings first published in 1923); and
On January 1st of next year – that is, January 1st of 2024 – new batches of sound recordings will begin to enter the US public domain on a yearly basis for the first time in history, starting with sound recordings first published in 1923.

I think the other reason I don't really get into ships as portrayed by fandom culture is that it seems like the mindset is more like. "I want these characters to be in a Romantic Relationship(TM)" instead of "I want these characters' relationship to be romantic"
What I mean here is that, so often I see pairings enacting romance tropes to the point of heavily altering or downright replacing their original dynamic - as if the people behind it only understand romance as a series of checklists to tick off. Couples like to kiss and sleep in the same bed and flirt with each other, so it doesn't matter who the characters are, if they're a couple then naturally they'll do those things, right??
And that's where the whole thing starts to lose me, because I would assume that the appeal of shipping characters is, y'know... the characters? Rather than just, the idea of a couple? If I'm thinking about how it'd be cool for them to be in love, my first thought is always "so how would they show it," because just like everything else about a person, the answer is going to be different on a case-by-case basis.
Maybe the characters involved aren't really into kissing, but they like arranging date activities. Maybe they aren't committed to the structure of dating at all, and just want to be around each other whenever they can. And even if they are the types to like doing traditionally romantic things, that doesn't suddenly erase whatever else they had going on before they started adding that on top of it.
I'm not saying that the more typical romance tropes and activities are bad, just that they're applied kind of excessively, regardless of whether or not they actually work for the characters involved. I want to see my favorite characters having relationships that are true to who they are, not what the stock depiction of a couple says they should be.
