Their parting forced them both into a depression(Daemon might’ve ended his own life while Nettles became a recluse for several years). Not to mention Daemon was willing to risk everything for her in the end when she offered nothing to him(that’s big for someone like him).

Keep in mind, even if you don’t want to read their relationship as romantic(lol you’d be wrong, but I’ll humor y’all for a minute), like the definition said, a soulmate doesn’t have to be a romantic partner. It could literally be anyone(your friend, your sibling, your child, etc.) who you share a deep bond with. Someone who’d you chose every time. And it doesn’t have to be someone you have know your whole life either.

Daemon and Nettles did not know one another for a long time(4-5 months at most), but I believe they had a profound connection with each other that superseded any other before or after.

do you think a lot of bnfs will be disappointed by winds? i have an inkling feeling that so many accounts will ghost the fandom if certain things don't come true after 13 years of waiting, i want to think i have a good grasp on what's to happen in winds but im not totally attached, iv'e seen fans imply that if its not complete smooth sailing for certain characters they'll quit the fandom and thats SO strange seeing that everyone is anticipating a really dark book.

im already expecting many characters to die or just to not have a good time so its insane to me that people would throw hissy fits if certain things dont come true, being sad and angry is valid but i'd think its an overreaction for certain theories to not come true (i am happier to know that 3 heads of the dragon and curtain of light babble has lessened its grip on this fandom)

i mean george himself has said quite a many times that twow is going to be dark and that things will get worse before they better. i also feel like i get the point of people feeling like their fav characters have had enough now & would truly like for things to get better for them now. i get that but also, i think we’ve collectively muddled up what “good” or “smooth sailing” essentially even means for our faves. is dany taking over westeros truly a good thing? is sansa taking the north with baelish a wholly good thing? tyrion meeting dany a good thing, for either of them? is bran getting essentially possessed by a tree-demon & then coming back to winterfell a good thing?

more than that, there’s a lot of plot lines to resolve and none of that will come without emotional/physical pain. the Dorne plot, KL, Lannisibs, dance of the dragons 2.0. none of it will come easy. I think the theme is going to be v similar to what it has been till now, which can be summarised, at least for me, by this Helen Keller quote - “although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of overcoming of it”

but do i see disappointment? if their theories don’t come true? Yah. that’s one thing you can count on with the asoiaf fandom.

Nah the romantic hate (♠️) is 2 people. If they have a third it becomes a separate thing (♣️) where the third is their mediator because they need someone to stop them from killing each other, not encourage it
