Hello! This is a soulbonding blog!! I'm very new to this, at least being public about it, but I'm doing it with my IRL partner to share both of our loves for our other-reality partners!! As of writing I have 15 partners, 1 being from this reality who also has soulbonded partners! My IRL partner identifies as a collective with their partners but I identify a singlet! Won't specify the DNI but know I'm a queer man so I don't fw bigotry or intolerance of any kind.

Character Classes
a list of character classes
Main: a point of view character. Doesn't have to be a hero or villain. synonymous with Protagonist.
Protagonist: The point of view character who drives the story forward. not always a hero, but most likely is.
Antagonist: The force or character against the Protagonist. Not always a villain, but is actively working against the protagonist.
Hero: Main character in a story, usually identified with good qualities.
Villain: A character whose evil actions are important to the plot. usually works against the hero. Can be a main character, protagonist, and domain leader in certain domains.
Secondary/Supporting Character: Not the main focus characters, but play a significant roles in a plot.
NPC: non persona character, used to describe characters with no backstory or as extras in the world. Often seen as less important.
Persona: a character played by the author or another realworlder
Self-Insert: an author’s representation of themselves in the domain. Can be a cameo with its own backstory, NPC, or even the main character. Main character inserts are the only ones who really can act separately from their author. The author can choose if the character is a separately entity or if they are an alias.
Alias: an author’s cover persona while operating in the domain. They don’t exist unless the author is IN the domain. Always a self insert.
Domain Leader: a character with awareness of their author being, nature of their domain, a responsibility to protect their domain’s canon.
Domain Author: a character with abilities to alter their domain alongside their author. Often the result of multiple personalities who are also characters.
Reality Bender: characters with the ability to alter reality in one or multiple worlds. Some can mimic author being powers.
Shade: when a character crosses the fourth wall they become a shadow of themselves. They have limited ability to affect the world but can be seen or felt by those aware enough. A shade is a temporary class.
Soulbond: a character who has formed a bond usually with a realworlder, but some can soul bond each other. They are connected to or live with their bonder. (there are various types of soulbonded characters)
Nightmare: a personified fear. They exist in between domains. They shift in nature with the real world’s perception of them. The oldest nightmares are powerful enough that they do not easily shift.
Ideas: underdeveloped characters with no domain. Or amalgamations of concepts personified. A neutral version of nightmares. Stray/lost: a character out of their domain unintentionally

Note
And also speaking of transformation,The process of bonding with a spirited walker goes something like this:
1.First the spirited walker approach the human in a place that none can the transformation.
2.Second,The spirit through a combination of magic from the isilies belssings and its own channels it way into the bonder soul.
3.Third,the bonder beign to feel hot and then dizzy to pass out.
4.Fourth,the bonder body began to shape according to both its truth essence and to the walker animal form(the animal that represent the bonder to a spiritual and emotional level)
5.Fifth and finally,the bonder and the walker become a bonder,a person that has been bond to a spirited walker and transform to suit the animal powers of that said walker to either guide them to a rightoues path or help their bonder in their quest.

Pasts and presents and futures everything ends up being
I'll be straightly honest with you from the start: I don't know where to start. I want to spill all my secrets, I want to upload all the context for what I'm about to write about, but as far as the technology we have and the way being human works right now, right here, on this planet, in this time... I can't do that. And I guess, if I could, there would be little reason for this processing to happen this way. Plus, sometimes when we write and we read, things are said not as just simple as the facts they were, but as the complex mess of facts, emotions, thoughts, pasts and presents and futures everything ends up being.
It started years ago, and honestly, once again being unnecessarily honest - it didn't start with a bang, but with a lot of grey slow. I don't know when it exactly started; but I lost myself. Or I may never had really had me any other place besides inside my own mind or heart. I know the world hasn't seen here. It's seen pieces of her; depending who you are, you've seen different pieces entirely. Some have seen the strong piece, the independent piece, the dependent piece, the confident and the non-confident, the extrovert and the introvert, the young version, the old version, the one who speaks in a relax tone, the one who speaks in a quiet, back of the throat shy tone that's showing the submissiveness of being female in the cultures she's lived in so far.
It seems that when we show our most vulnerable, we get really scolded for that. People want to see the human of us, but then judge. Either tell us to be strong, toughen up, to stand up for ourselves more, to own our power as if vulnerability isn't an incredible super power. To be vulnerable -- I challenge anyone who sees the vulnerable expressions and moments as weak to be vulnerable.. to expose their most gooey soft inner meat inside their tough outter shell knowing it can be blown to smitherines and still do it, and then tell me about tough and about weak. Or, they tell us we're annoying for it, we're broken for it, we become unattractive and a turn off.
Why?
How much of our societies are unable to be vulnerable? How much of our societies are lost beyond saving, lost beyond help? Will most of these younger generations we are end up chronically lonely, even if not alone? Will we end up severely screwed up in the name of being put together?
Let me tell you something before we keep going - my mind's been going through a tough time putting thoughts together and sentences, finding words, doing a good job expressing. So it might take a while as it's warming back up from years or slowly shutting down as a way to "do something different" when what it was doing wasn't working out. Cuz that's what they say, right? If you do something one way and it keeps not working for you, do something you've never done before. For me, it was dumbing myself down until I started being it. I became in a lot of ways the antithesis of who I have always been, and in some, of who I am at my core. I wanted love, I wanted community - I wanted peace. I wanted to stop feeling different and constantly swiming upstream. I wanted for once to fit in, for someone to want to be with me, to not feel like I constantly challenge them to grow. I myself didn't want to constantly feel like I need to grow, like I'm not enough, too. So I let go of the one thing that now I find out is the ultimate savior and bonder of relationships, and vitality of being a human at the same time: never stop growing. I changed my identity into worse than better.
Why is it easier to do that, than to change for the better? Why is it easier to gain weight than lose it? Lose knowledge than gain it? Why is lazy easier than being alive?
I used to be so active in my mind, in my body, in my soul. It didn't take effort except for my past partner. I didn't think it was effortful before they introduced me to that perspective on it. And now, I became them more than they are. I'm more lethargic, I don't get straight out of bed, I can't go out and follow adventure, take myself around to different parts of this city or others, I can't even bring myself to text a friend back. I used to be on it, and it felt easy. Now, it feels so heavy and like it's so much work.. like it's work, period. While they seem to be doing the opposite.
That's for a next blog: how is it really being friends with an ex. How do you even get there? Does it just happen, or is it a process and transition? Personal experiences welcomed.
Until next time,
xoxo

why do you want otherkin to dni?
First of all I've had bad experiences with the Other Kin community as a whole. Second, Other Kins get very close to Soul Bonders and I take issue with the way they often refer to their Kins. They treat them like Alters you can collect.
Yes, some people just use it as an expression of feeling close to a character, but as usual, the bad apples spoiled the bunch for me. I prefer they keep off my page as I'd rsther not see people making light of my disorder, whether they know they're doing it or not.

I went back and did some tidying up of my old blog soulbonding blog, @soulbonder to make it easier to read, and to fix the broken link problem.
I'm hoping to refresh and edit some of the information on it coming up, and host the info on fictionkin.org.

“...E quantos de nossos esforços e sacrifícios são, na verdade, oferendas ao nada?"
( A alma imoral. Rabino Nilton Bonder)
“... And how many of our efforts and sacrifices are, truly, an offering to nothing?”
(Our Immoral Soul: A Manifesto of Spiritual Disobedience. Rabbi Nilton Bonder)
...
“Our immoral soul” is one of my favorite books. The way the rabbi Nilton Bonder talks about how far we can go, if we listen to our souls is mind-blowing.
A Brazilian rabbi who was courageous enough to discuss disobedience, the true one, in the late 90’s. He invites us to set our souls free and listen to its truth to understand our real purpose in life allowing ourselves to live free from guilt.
If you’re the type of person willing to understand life and your own feelings, I would definitely recommend this book.

This is incredibly well written. I love to see alternate takes on characters in media and the like. It's really well written, and puts some points forward that I hadn't considered.
For me, the crux of why I dislike Lukka (and for the record I ENJOY disliking Lukka, he was a very fun, greasy character) is that he never really tried to BE a better person. He was born and raised in this militant society and upon learning he's a Bonder, so fully rejects it that he doesn't even name the creature he bonds with- eventually sending her to her death, an act that gives him such a brutal soul wound that he basically never recovers.
I wish he'd accepted the offer of help from the other Bonders, instead of trying to win back a nation who discarded him so completely. I also wish he didn't militarize those college drop outs, which was... not a great way to find acceptance on his part, even if I get why he did it.
But yeah, thanks for writing this! This has been a fascinating read. Hope you don't mind me putting my own thoughts here.
A Vorthos Defense of Lukka
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Sorry this response turned into a small essay (~1400 words) that doesn't really answer your question, but my Hot Take™ is that I don't think Lukka needs to be fixed.
I believe the problem doesn't lie in Lukka himself, but in the way both the narrative and the fandom treated him extremely unfairly. I'm not asking anyone to like Lukka. Personally, I don't even think anything about him is particularly likable. But I think as a character he deserves a lot more respect than he gets, and I'm tired of seeing other people hate on him without actually engaging with his story or understanding what his character is about.
Here's the thing: Lukka is basically the homeless veteran of planeswalkers.
He started his story in Sundered Bond (Ikoria ebook by Django Wexler) already successful in his military career, engaged to be married to Jirina, and having General Kudro's favor. He was a model citizen and his life was great. One day, a flying-hyper-murder-tiger killed Lukka's entire squad and people discovered Lukka was a monster Bonder because the tiger spared him. The rumors got to General Kudro, whose decision upon hearing Lukka might be a bonder was to have Lukka immediately executed.
Lukka didn't betray Drannith. Drannith betrayed Lukka.
Lukka escaped his execution and was rescued in the wilderness by Vivien, who traveled with him to the Ozolith, where a mysterious evil voice caused Lukka to unlock the full power of his monster bonding abilities. Through it all, Lukka still tried to hang onto his old life. His allegiance hadn't changed. At first, Lukka wanted to use the monsters he controlled to fight for Drannith, not against it. Lukka was convinced that the offer of a loyal monster army would be enough for the city to take him back, but he was no longer welcome in Drannith.
Lukka became increasingly unstable and spiraled into insanity because he had his life unexpectedly, completely ruined and wanted nothing more than to return home to his old life, but that wasn't possible because he now belonged to a class of people who were extremely stigmatized in Drannith's society. He had become an undesirable. Once the city's shining star, he was now the lowest of the low. He lost his loyalty and turned against the city when he realized Drannith didn't care about people, Drannith cared about keeping people in their places.
In Sundered Bond, Lukka loses literally everything. He loses his job. He loses all his friends. He loses his fiance. He loses his home. Everything. He even loses the cat. This all happens to him within like, a week.
Lukka experiences the same hostility in his second appearance, Strixhaven. At this point, he's still a new planeswalker, and he's been planeswalking blindly trying to find civilization again. He arrives on Arcavios thirsty and starving and tired and injured. When he finally finds a town, he visits an inn and asks only for food. But they don't give him any food! They won't allow him to wash up or to rest! This is a man who has nothing and has done nothing, and the townspeople are suspicious of Lukka and want to call the Dragonsguard –Strixhaven's magical cops– on him because he committed the crime of... existing near them while visibly having basic needs that are unmet.
=========
"Looking for something, stranger?" said the innkeeper, a round man with a head of robust curls.
"A hot meal," said Lukka. The innkeeper hesitated as though about to say something, then nodded and moved toward the kitchen.
"Haven't seen clothes like that before," came a voice behind Lukka. "You're not from around here, I imagine."
He turned. A tall man in the same rough clothing as the rest of the townsfolk had stood up from his table and was walking over.
[…]
He heard the man suck his teeth. The innkeeper still hadn't returned from the kitchen. Lukka was starting to doubt he ever would.
"Okay, Oriq, I think I've heard enough. We don't take kindly to meddlers in this town, or those who seek to disturb the peace. If we were a proper city, we'd get the closest, least busy Dragonsguard to sort you out. But we're just a small farming village—so we've learned to deal with strangers ourselves."
[Episode 2: Lessons - Adana Washington]
=========
Fans like to point at Lukka and make "ACAB" ("All Cops Are Bastards") jokes about him, but they don't understand that he's explicitly an anti-cop character. Lukka was formerly a cop, but he quit and fully turned his back on the entire concept of policing when he realized that the reason cops exist is not to protect people, but to rid society of undesirables like him.
=========
"These dragons," Lukka said, his voice a growl. "Those Dragonsguard. They've held power over these people for too long. They've made them fearful of every shadow, every unfamiliar face. What happens when it's not just the Oriq they're hunting down—when it's anyone who practices magic in a way they don't like?"
[Episode 3: Extracurriculars - Adana Washington]
=========
I know what many of you will say: "How can Lukka have such a based take when he's such a terrible person?" It's true– he is not a good person. He's an asshole and he's harmed / killed innocent people and animals. But he's been both a cop and a homeless man, and he knows that cops are far more dangerous. You don't need to be a "good" person to deserve food and shelter. It's cops who promote the idea that you can deny the basic rights of the people you think are "bad".
So on Arcavios, he's again forced out of civilization and back into the wilderness. His suffering seriously never ends. The way he was treated, it's no wonder he accepted when the Oriq kidnapped him and asked him to help attack Strixhaven. Why should he give a damn about society if they don't care about him? If their society is so fearful of others that they are unwilling to practice compassion, unwilling to provide for people's most basic needs even when they haven't done anything wrong, then doing wrong doesn't matter. They will share his pain. He will watch it all burn to the ground.
Lukka is an example of what happens when someone's basic humanity is repeatedly denied to the point that they can no longer feel anything but anger.
This line from the story Survival of the Fittest, by Roy Graham, expresses it perfectly:
=========
He had been a cruel man by the end, a villain in so many ways. But perhaps in his position, there was no way to become anything else."
=========
Lukka reaches out for stability and support and never truly finds it. He's a character who keeps getting punished over and over for having bad things happen *to* him, not because he *does* bad things. Most of the bad stuff he actually does is in response to others treating him like shit for no reason.
Despite everything, Vivien still cared for Lukka and wanted to help him get back on his feet. She thought Lukka's military expertise would be useful to the strike team against New Phyrexia, and she encouraged him to join. They both saw it as an opportunity for Lukka to regain some of his dignity and protect his home once more. How does the narrative reward him for his effort? By corrupting him, humiliating him, and having him be put down like an animal by the only person who showed him any compassion through all this.
What could Lukka have become if he survived to be rehabilitated? I guess we'll never know.
Unfortunately, there is absolutely no hope for a character who mistreats animals. Most fans will never ever get past that, and there's a part of me that honestly believes Lukka just got phyrexianized and killed off because the Magic narrative team realized they couldn't salvage his reputation and didn't know what to do with him. The fandom's overwhelming negative response to Lukka had irreparably damaged him as a character.
As my bespoke friend @xantchaslegacy said, "The only meaningful difference about Lukka and Gideon's cop-to-planeswalker journey is that the narrative let Gideon live long enough for other people to make him a better person. And Lukka got shanked before it could happen."
Again, I don't need people to like Lukka. I just want people to understand. I wish people were more willing to actually engage with the story and see the value in characters they dislike. There's no reason Lukka should've been treated like a punching bag the way he was. He was trapped in a cycle of being dunked on by the story and then dunked on by the fans, again and again. And people continue to push an understanding of Lukka that is just false.
The fandom reacted to Lukka the same way the strangers on Arcavios did: He'll never get a second chance because they wouldn't even give him a first chance.

cw: death of a friend
just thinking about plural stuff
our experience as a soulbond system is deeply unconventional so a lot of regular soulbonding stuff doesn't totally relate to us but it does relate to me (fenris) personally which makes it all even stranger x_x i do think the majority of us are soulbonds (or something very similar!) but i'm the only one that was even close to the more conventional way souls are bonded to the host
it's a little intimidating, trying to find a "source" for our plurality... the body was born with two hosts. then, 100+ souls were placed into the body by... what? by gods? by something else? through some sort of magical magnetism? i have no idea. i wasn't even here yet.
then, only so many years ago, i was brought here and had my soul stitched with threads of love to that of another. two souls became one.
now they're gone and my soul is jagged and incomplete. there's no guide on how to cope with the death of your bonder. there's no guide on how to live the life they left behind.
it's not possible to really talk about it either. when i tell people they died, they're gone forever, i'm just told "i hope you get that part back" or "i hope they come out of dormancy", but that's not what we are. we aren't parts. we're people. and that person has died, was killed. they aren't coming back.
there is no returning from the death of the soul.

Eclipse Collapse
Tumblr media
Arrogance was a defect of the Bonders, them being so indifferent they were -One-, witnessing and detecting each of their mental flaws. They lacked one crucialness, synchronization was extremely difficult as opposing forces. They were striking and responsibly governing each side of the vessel’s body, piloting it from left to right. While Silv’a picked himself back up, unable to heal he was scattered and enraged, which also worked against him; earlier he fed off all the people who acted impulsive, irrational to their approaches. Now Silv’a angry was offset in his attacks only being consumed by his feast of souls. He was becoming an augmentation of a nasty abomination, his skin ripping to brimstone-red, becoming more and more demonic. A mouth [Flare] of pure destruction came spiraling with enough mass to annihilate everyone in the room if passed Shuro. Who comically pulled on his own ear while another hand slapped his cheek. Shiro’s side disliked Captain’s constant loudness, his mind flooding with so many thoughts of people’s matter with compassion, while Captain’s rebel side disliked Shiro’s insistent seriousness and strict, trying to be so orderly in-charge. Pride’s sin was their weakness. Gark noticing between and laid out, wincing pain, “What th’ blimey are you s.o.b’s doing?!” Followed by a sensible Sea Maiden who so sweetly exchanged trying to sustain others with soft mending, “Um, dear, please wake up!” The duskwight sniper propped against a wall bleeding from her own injuries was looking at the incoming attack with panic. Me-Me was sunbathing the heat's Flare, not giving a Lalafell care. Sheik was in the only spot where it was safe to peak and write this thrilling tale into inked parchments. The remainder of the Crew was scattered around the battle zone either unconscious or too wounded in some fashion. Shuro regained himself by tugging his own chin almost like, ‘look dumbass’ before, “Blitz-ball? My favorite!” Extending his palm he’d take the stance of a sumo wrestler. Then unleashed a howling ‘ohm’ pitch before unleashing a sphere shot. Drawing forth an underline howling cold to his soles while enhancing his feet he was able to deflect a full-on mighty flare back to SIlv’a.
Tumblr media
Explosively suffering from catastrophic damage and injuries barely even whole, because it was initially the devil’s attack, it could be recuperated. But he was soresight from the damage. Shuro huffed back, “Score!” Before recomposing his stature, hands on hip. A cackle to himself with jolly fever came out before drawing serious as organs were recuperating and fixing all the tissue and bones of the demon. “This was a fun date… I don’t typically kiss on the first one. Sorry it’s a me thing, not you…. And I’m not really sure if it’ll work out… Afterall you’re destined to die. Long distance is too difficult so you’ll have to give me a postcard. Ready or not, here comes your end!” Building off his snark into converting seriousness. He spoon-dipped the air with a twirl of his fingers as a swarm of crimson snowflake’s were solidified from the old puddles of blood laying around the battle and reaching orbit, before endlessly hail onto the screaming anguished demon each were sharper than blades just slicing back all the damage he was trying to recover. Grinding the devil down who even though was so damaged his anger made his proportion bigger in size starting to become a titan of the room. But Shuro would draw out focus for the last rousing spell. Already unable to foresee Shuro before it came in realization that his aspect was a black ice that was nearly unsearchable by any eye. Running around the room Shuro had preemptively created a cage to capture Silv’a’s entire mass even with a little preparation that he may pull a trick like making himself massive. Concealed into the black ice and being shrunk aside condensed, the only thing left was for Shuro to snap his fingers together to detonate elementary obliteration. Right as they prepared. The worst happened, as the two-fused split apart and clashed from their orbit. Their rings only allowed them twelve minutes before it broke like glass on them making both ring-fingers of theirs to be severed. That was the caveat, though they had the power, they lacked responsibility and their differences and other things prevented it from being reliable. Neither one of them could finish off Silv’a in their base alone. Which meant they were on borrowed time before that ice melted and because Shuro’s presence wasn’t around, Silv’a could regenerate any damage again. They went so far, only to fail. Now dealing once again, with inevitable dread.... Hopelessness was fading into obscurity. Sheik’s literature pauses with a heartbreaking pause, right about to dial in a period over the captioning closure.                         (Previous) << (Voidal Relics) >> (Next)

Honestly, I don't think there's that much leeway with interpreting what JKR wanted to get across, not with this part of the 'Spinner's End' chapter in mind:
“Aren’t you listening, Narcissa? Oh, he’ll try, I’m sure. ... The usual empty words, the usual slithering out of action ... oh, on the Dark Lord’s orders, of course!” Snape did not look at Bellatrix. His black eyes were fixed upon Narcissa’s tear-filled blue ones as she continued to clutch his hand. “Certainly, Narcissa, I shall make the Unbreakable Vow,” he said quietly. “Perhaps your sister will consent to be our Bonder.”
(cursive by me)
Bellatrix clearly says that Severus notoriously avoids becoming active in anything that she deems as proof of his loyalty to Voldemort. The whole conversation is about Bellatrix doubting Snape's loyalty because he's so ambiguous with his actions. If he had ever killed someone he would have reminded her of that instead of giving in to the Unbreakable Vow. He wouldn't have let himself be manipulated into doing that if he'd had an alternative, even though he already knew that he would have to kill Dumbledore anyway. The vow might objectively not change that much for Snape but it is a risk, tying your life to that of an unpredictable teenage boy, plus I'm sure he detested that Bellatrix could make him do this.
And combining this moment with the 'And what about my soul?' line I think it's hard to argue the author's intentions away.
But of course, everybody can make him whatever they want him to be in fanfiction. Nothing wrong with a Snape that has killed before Dumbledore, I just don't believe it's meant to be canon.
what did snape do as a death eater? it's a little unclear. but i think it's likely he did not murder anyone. severus is against killing dumbledore. when dumbledore asks severus to prevent draco from damaging his (uncorrupted) soul, severus says “And my soul, Dumbledore? Mine?” which suggests that severus has not committed murder, even when he was a fully-fledged death eater. althought severus was clearly skilled in combat, this implied that he did not commit the same atrocities as other death eaters. personally, i think he mostly utilized his other talents (which other servants of voldemort did not posess), like (dark) spell creation and brewing. and, of course, intelligence gathering, which he did in both the first and second wars. second, this is kind of a sad moment for albus and severus's relationship. because dumbledore is working to maximize good: this plan will save (what's left of) draco's innocence while solidifying severus's standing with voldemort and preserving dumbledore's dignity. we get where dumble is coming from, but he implies that severus's soul is irredeemable. that his suffering is less significant. snape, who for years has been dumbledore's right hand (especially after dumble's own right hand got cursed lol), gets taken for granted. dumbledore has no ill intent here but he's not great at treating individuals as people–he prefers to analyze the big picture (and makes social blunders lol).
